Hey luvs! I have a new lewk from my most recent trip to Boca Raton (yes, I did go back because I am absolutely in love with that place). I had spent the day at Sea Gate spa in Delray Beach getting a Swedish massage and Vitamin C Radiance facial before heading to dinner. I wanted to really focus on relaxing this trip so a spa day only made sense.

Of course, I did not shoot content while getting the massage and facial but these are some shots I got In the waiting room and inside the spa. Delray Beach has so many different spas but this one stood out the most to me because of the prices and services they offer, specifically the facial. The spa was very clean and the services were a 10/10. The massage was needed because I have been so tense recently due to my stress and anxiety that I have been managing a lot better but my masseuse recommended I do my massage with medium-deep pressure because of how tense I felt. As for the facial, I was GLOWING afterward and got so many compliments. If you are ever in the Boca Raton/West Palm Beach area, I highly recommend booking a spa day there. You get full access to their pool during your time there AND a complimentary glass of champagne.

After my spa day, I relaxed by the pool with my companion then we headed to dinner. I wore this mesh animal print dress that I got from Boohoo with a pair of white heels I got from Amazon. I accessorized with a small Michael Kors handbag, jewelry, and a pair of cute sunnies. This dress from Boohoo is one of my favorites, especially for the summer. I cannot wait to wear it in Turks & Caicos, it just seems like the right dress for a vacay there.

We ended up going to Chops Lobster Bar in Boca Raton and the food was okay, not amazing but at least I looked good lol.

Hi babes! Yes, I am back with a new dinner date lewk. This is a dinner date/night out lewk because we did not just get dinner. We ended up getting dinner then dessert and enjoying a nice ride around Boca Raton. The weather was PERFECT the entire trip; if you read my first post about Boca, I mentioned how it rained the entire time we were there for Memorial Day weekend. It barely rained this trip which was great especially for my outfits lol.

We got to try a restaurant the both of us have never been to that is called Copperfish Kitchen. The ambiance was very nice, which is a trait of a restaurant that I love. It was really nice inside and it was not too crowded at the time we went. For appetizers, we had oysters (I basically had oysters this entire trip lol) and my companion wanted to try the squid. I am still getting used to his love for squid but surprisingly this squid was AMAZING. It was seasoned so well that I forgot it was even squid. I just can never seem to get over the fact that I am eating a tentacle.

I got to try the Refresh cocktail which is a new drink on their menu. It was pretty good, I actually ended up drinking 2. For my main entree, I had the Chilean Sea Bass which I LOVED. I am usually not a huge fan of sea bass because of the consistency based on how some restaurants cook it but they cooked it perfectly for me; it was not too overdone or underdone. My companion thought their food was good but not amazing; however, I loved my food. Something new that I learned about Boca/Florida is they love to incorporate sweet potato mash in their dishes. Maybe I am just not that cultured and this is popular in other places but this was my first time having that with fish and I loved it. The dish also came with sambal green beans and mushrooms (also something I am getting used to). We did not get dessert here because nothing on their dessert menu caught out eyes so we decided to get dessert elsewhere.

Hoffman's is a really popular chocolate/ice cream shop in South Florida and there was one right next to Copperfish so we decided to go there and see what they had to take home. We ended up getting a small box of different chocolates to share (one of them was a s'mores chocolate bar and it was AMAZING!). They provide a variety of different kinds of chocolates for anyone's taste so if you are ever in South Florida, you should check them out. We ended up going there 3 more times during this trip.

After Hoffman's, we went to Jeremiah's which is like the Rita's of Boca. They sell water ice, gelati, and soft-serve ice cream. My companion is practically obsessed with their gelati so we went there like 5 times during this trip lol. I tried their soft serve with lots of sprinkles and it was good; it was a yummy dessert to end the night (before I ate some chocolate). Overall, this was a very fun dinner date night and I can't wait to go back to Copperfish the next time we are back in Boca to try their brunch!

Hi babes! Yes, I did go on another trip but this time it was for about a week and a half so it was more like a vacation. I traveled back to Boca Raton, Florida for a much-needed vacation after 2 long work weeks. Now that I have been working at my job for over 3 months, I am taking on more responsibility by joining more social media campaigns from start to end which is helping me learn so much about the digital marketing industry; I am particularly learning more about influencer marketing. Plus, my team is great and we all get along and work well together which is always a bonus!

But the past two weeks had been A LOT so I traveled back to Boca Raton for a week and was most excited to try new restaurants since I was only there for 3 days that last time. You can only eat so much in 3 days lol. For the first night, my companion and I went to City Fish Market which was located right in Boca. I was excited to visit this place because the reviews were pretty good, plus it had a great view of a fountain outside. However, the experience was a bit mediocre.

For appetizers, we had oysters (obviously) and their Ceviche of Pristine Seafood. Both appetizers were very tasty but I have to get used to ceviche. I also had their Hawaiian Cosmo to drink and it was good; it was a nice, tropical twist of a cosmo. Then, I had the red snapper filet with whipped potatoes and mixed vegetables for my main dish. This is where it got mediocre lol. It was not too bad but could have had wayyy more flavor. I honestly expected it to have more flavor than it did but my companion and I were not too satisfied with the entrees. Lastly, we split their N.Y. Style Apple Crumb Cake. That was honestly better than the entrees; I love apple desserts so it was very delicious.

Overall, the food was okay. Nothing really spectacular but that does not really matter when you have good company with you so I still enjoyed it. A Weekend Getaway

Don't you just love a long weekend? A long weekend was much needed because I spent this month moving into my own apartment and I feel like it has made me age at least 5 years because I am so tired! Luckily I have amazing people around me right now who have been making me feel more alive with nothing but positive energy because I have needed it. Plus, my new job is going great. I needed a good min-vacay so it only made sense to go to Florida for Memorial Day weekend.

I hope everyone had a restful Memorial Day weekend not working and hopefully spending time with loved ones. I traveled to Boca Raton, Florida for 3 days (the name sounds so fancy until I learned that it means 'rat's mouth'). Getting there was crazy because I was initially supposed to leave Friday afternoon until my flight got canceled due to bad weather going from EWR (Newark) to Florida. Luckily, I was able to catch a flight early Saturday morning (something I was not happy about as a non-morning person lol) but my flight was delayed so I did not arrive until the evening. I don’t know what it is about United flights and their delays but it made me miss practically a whole day of relaxation; I cannot be too mad, though, because luckily I was still able to get there safely. This weather honestly sucked this past weekend but the trip was still very nice nonetheless and I will be going back this weekend for a longer trip.

I did go with a companion; I feel like solo travel is the new hype because you do not have to rely on anyone to make plans to travel and have a good time especially if you do not really know anyone reliable or just prefer the travel experience by yourself. I, however, do not think I can hop into the solo travel trend just because I feel like a vacation is wayyyy better with someone or people (i.e. a friends trip, baecation, or family vacay). Having someone or people to travel with gets me excited to really explore a place; I would probably end up just sleeping and eating if I traveled alone and that is honestly just a waste of money since I can do that at home.

We had dinner at La Luna Italian Bistro as soon as I arrived in the evening. I was so tired but I think traveling gives me more energy than is needed so we had dinner there for a few hours and ordered the lamb chops (LOVED them!). It was a great small restaurant to have a simple dinner at.

After dinner, we drove around the city. It is really beautiful and a lot of the buildings and homes have Spanish-inspired and Mediterranean-inspired architecture. Then, we called it a night mostly by my request and it started raining so it was nice to just relax for the night. By the following morning, we laid out poolside (yes, there is a pool where I stayed). The beach is approximately 30 minutes away but the weather was kinda funky so we ended up hanging out by the pool, which was great because I was able to shoot A LOT of content for my YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. I am going to link all my socials below so you can check out my vlog video for the trip + extra content I shot on my TikTok.

Sunday was a very chill day because my companion started feeling sick so it made sense to stay inside and rest up. We ended up ordering takeout from Prezzo and watching TV.

Monday was our last day...and I started feeling a bit sick. This trip only sucked because of the weather and us getting sick but I guess it is hurricane season and Florida is not really strict about COVID regulations so it was kind of expected. We finished the day with dinner by the ocean at Oceans 234. I always prefer traveling somewhere close to an ocean because my absolute favorite thing to do when traveling is to have dinner with a view of the ocean; living in Pennsylvania means you do not get to see it that often. Beaches are calming to me so having dinner right near the beach was beautiful, especially when the sun started setting. We had oysters (they were very tasty) as an appetizer and octopus (I could not eat more than a bite just because I was imagining an octopus swimming around lol.

Then, I ate salmon as my meal. I was definitely in the mood for fish, especially since I had red meat the day already. Plus, it made sense to eat seafood by the ocean. Then we got ice cream at an ice cream shop not too far from our place. It cost $35 for a small and large cup of ice cream which is INSANE lol so we established that we will not be going back there. We will have to try the Häagen-Dazs shop when we go back.

This trip was very rejuvenating after such a long month and I already cannot wait to go back this weekend. Whew, I can finally say that I have graduated. While I officially finished school last summer, my graduation was this month because of COVID and I thank God it was not pouring while I took my pictures. I am writing this post to reflect on graduating from college after four years of what I like to call fun hell because I met people that I know I can trust for the rest of my life and we share nothing but the best memories (hopefully we can share more) and I received a Bachelor’s degree studying Legal Studied but college was tough. Finishing was tough.

It was mostly tough because I am navigating my 20s (they weren’t joking when they say your 20s are tough) and learning more about myself every day and learning about what I ultimately want to do for the rest of my life. I have made a goal of mine to pursue running my business full-time in the future; I am considering attending Business school. I got a great job that is focused on Influencer Marketing (something that I have been interested in for 5 years since I have worked as an influencer/content creator for over 6 years now). Plus, it is for a great company that has AMAZING benefits (including stock options which someone needs to still explain to me haha). So I feel stable right now with what I am doing to benefit my future. Working in digital marketing has made me learn a lot about how certain businesses are operating today, especially with the help of influencer marketing. I plan to write a post next month discussing influencer marketing and what I have learned since starting my job. I feel motivated to get back to working with brands on my social media and get more serious with content creation because it has become the new side hustle or, better yet, a new career in this generation.

Finishing college made me realize that I studied what was interesting to me because of the idea that I need to have a career that is tough and high-paying in order to succeed and have a good future. While there is nothing entirely wrong with that idea, it is simply not true and I have found myself interested in a future where I am working creatively within the business industry (i.e. digital marketing).

As I continue to navigate this part of my life, I am trying hard to remind myself when rest and peace are necessary. I am reminding myself that I am trying my very best and was not built to be perfect. So in this post-grad era of my life, I plan to take my time navigating and living by my rules for myself. I absolutely encourage every new graduate to do the same because graduating is something to be absolutely proud of even if you are still figuring everything out.

New lewk alert! To end the New Year, I wanted to post this lewk for the last month of a campaign I was a part of for the brand XOXO. I was fortunate enough to receive a lot of their accessories including a handbag, sunglasses, hat, gloves, and the pair of boots pictured above. For the last month, I styled their 'Talayah' heeled boots in the color off-white. I styled the boots with a 2-block sweater dress that I received while collaborating with Femme Luxe, a long black faux coat from Boohoo, and some accessories. I received the sunglasses from XOXO for the first month of the campaign and the handbag is from my brand's latest collection called 'Luxe'. I am styling the Lavish handbag in the color Créme which you can shop at the link above. I will be adding new designs of handbags to the Luxe Collection as we enter the New Year and I am very excited to share more details.

This year was not an easy year for me but I am currently prioritizing my future, which includes the future of my brand, and my happiness because it is very clear that Covid is not going anywhere but I plan to take advantage of a time like this for myself. 2022 is going to be a very selfish year for me and honestly, I hope it is selfish for everyone else because you can still be there for others but be there for yourself first when necessary. I hope everyone has a Happy New Year and manifests the life that they want for themselves ♡

Check-In: Holidays & Seasonal Depression

As Christmas approaches, I have finally found a way to get more consistent on here (seriously I have!). I decided to start adding more articles to the' Writings on the Wall' section of my blog by writing about current topics and also doing bi-weekly check-ins by having a quick conversation in the form of a blog post. Starting this week, I want to have a check-in conversation about seasonal depression as Christmas and the New Year approaches since I know this time of the year can be hard for most people. This time of the year is usually hard for me because seasonal depression can hit pretty hard but I have been managing okay by being on top of a routine to feel a bit more in control of myself. I struggle often with feeling in control when things are not going the way I want them to but people say "things don't always go as planned" which is true...but I want them to so it can stress me out when they do not. Seasonal depression hit me hard during my junior year of college when I was going through way too much academically and personally so I told myself that I will never go through that again because I did not feel good about myself. So here we are doing what is needed to take care of ourselves because it still brings my spirit down when it is pitch black by 5 pm. I already cannot wait for Spring/Summer.

The top three things that have been saving me this season are:

1) Music

2) Tea (with lots of honey)

3) Stretching

Music is everything to me and I love making playlists to match my moods or even the seasons. I recently made a Fall/Winter playlist that I am still adding to; I can get nostalgic with my music so I have been listening to My Chemical Romance like I am back in middle school (lol I promise I am fine, those guys just made really good rock music that fits my mood 98% of the time). I have also been listening to Adele's new album which is one of the most beautiful albums I have listened to in a long time (she is a Taurus in case you did not know). I remember finding it hard to get into her music in high school because it always seemed so sad, sometimes a little too sad, but I also listen to Ed Sheeran's first album religiously like it is not one of the saddest albums I have come across. I love artists who know how to be vulnerable through their music because the lyrics almost speak to my soul. The ending of My Little Love spoke to my soul when Adele expressed how she loves being on her own but she still feels so lonely, which has to be the worst most complicated feeling in the world and I have been feeling that way for a while so now I am focusing heavily on my hobbies and brand.

I recently got into drinking tea more and I am really happy about it. I am usually an iced coffee gal but it is too cold to be consuming that. Tea provides warmth and helps improve digestion and a bunch of other good stuff so I drink it every morning and night. The main reason I got into it is because of a gift my siblings and I got our mom that she refuses to use since it is a bit too high-tech for her (which I expected). We got her an Ember mug for her birthday and she is more old-school so I started using it and love the temperature control settings; it is very innovative. My favorite tea to drink is a throat tamer blend from Celestial Seasonings Tea; I drink it every night and it has aromatic spearmint from the pacific northwest and soothing Egyptian chamomile. I add some lemon and honey to make it taste even better and drink it at a perfect temperature. It is very calming which has been helpful for me to sleep better.

Lastly, stretching. I did not realize how much I needed to properly stretch until I started incorporating it into my morning routine and it is a game-changer. Recently I have been trying to disconnect from my phone more when I wake up. I push myself to wake up and get out of bed to do my morning skincare routine proceeded by 5-10 min of just stretching and breathing to release some tension. Yoga, meditation, or just basic exercise are all great for releasing tension.

As we get through the holiday season, I hope everyone is taking care of themselves. I know this time of the year can be difficult for some people for many different reasons but I hope you get some much-needed rest. New lewk alert! As we close up the year, I wanted to share this outfit I put together to shoot content for my brand's latest collection called 'Luxe'. I curated this collection to fit the style of those who love to look good on a budget and so far the new pair of sunnies called 'Rich Auntie' and the 'Lavish' handbag are all included (more products are going to be added very soon!).

For this lewk, I style a few pairs of Rich Auntie with a black & white Ivy Park dress that I got from Nordstrom a while ago...honestly I cannot remember when exactly but just know that it is from the OG Ivy Park collection that you could probably still find at Nordstrom Rack (seriously no shame in still buying those products because they are amazing!). I was always a fan of the statement pieces from the OG line; I have this dress, 2 pairs of leggings, an athletic top, and a logo hat from the line and I still wear every item. Plus, I got them all at a great discount because they were rebranding around the time that I bought them. I love how Ivy Park is still an athleisure brand but provides versatility in how you style their apparel.

I am wearing the dress with a pair of Black patent heels from Forever21 and styling with two pairs of Rich Auntie sunglasses, one in Black and the other is in Créme. I also style with plenty of jewelry and a handbag I received from Boohoo while working with them. Since this collection is called 'Luxe', I put a strong emphasis on looking expensive on a budget. New post alert! I know that the weather is getting colder so this lewk is from last month but I still wanted to share the details because I love a good all-black lewk. I feature a few products from my brand in this lewk that I actually put together for a campaign that I am currently a part of for XOXO, a fashion accessories brand. I am working with them on a 3-month campaign to promote their accessories that include sunglasses, handbags, hats, gloves, shoes, etc.

For this lewk, I am wearing a black top that I received from a collaboration with a brand called Cape Clique. Truthfully, this top looked super cute online until I got it and realized how complicated it really is. I love the modern, abstract design of it but I do believe that brand should have provided a better way to show how to wear the top; luckily, I was still able to make it work my own way (I think I ended up wearing it correctly but you just have to make it work in your own, comfortable way!). I am wearing the top with a pair of black leather pants from a UK-based fashion brand called Femme Luxe and a pair of heeled boots that I got on sale from DSW. Lastly, I accessorize with a few products from my brand. I am styling the Lavish handbag in Créme, Black, and Lavender, all of which are a part of my brand's latest collection called 'Luxe'. I am also styling a pair of 'Rich Auntie' sunnies in Black. I curated this collection for all my ladies and anyone who loves to look expensive on a budget or embody the Rich Auntie persona. I am a firm believer that designerwear is not the only way to look high-end, it is just the easiest way. You can still shop on a budget and look high-end.

New post alert! I wanted to share the last lewk I created during the summer because it deserves to be included in my list of OOTDs. I will be adding new Fall lewks very soon now that the weather is getting colder (my least favorite thing lol) and I will be pulling out my comfy clothes. I created this lewk because I went shopping for this dress in July and fell in love with the fit then remembered that I have a pair of boots of the same color and thought that including an all-red lewk would be perfect. Red has become my new favorite color recently because I love how it makes my complexion stand out. Plus, it is such a sexy color and I mean that in a subtle sex appeal kind of way.

For this outfit, I am wearing a red ruched dress paired with red heeled boots and plenty of accessories. I am wearing a pair of Glossy sunglasses from the DANGEROUS collection of my brand. My favorite accessory in this lewk is the handbag that my mom got me from Kenya. While I do not usually prefer big handbags, I can make an exception for this one because it really stands out especially with an all-red outfit.

Creating an inviting living space for guests

Are you having guests over for the holidays this year? Or, maybe even before that? If so, you need to get your home prepared, especially if you haven’t hosted people for a while now. Creating an inviting living space for guests is fun and easy, but it definitely requires time and attention to detail. Here are a few tips on creating an inviting living space for guests:

Prepare the bathroom

This is just a personal tip that I have found makes a huge difference when in somebody's home. Make sure there's enough toilet paper (because no visitors enjoy having to ask for more), that the soap dispenser is full, and that there are clean towels for drying your hands. It also doesn't hurt to have a subtle air freshener (there are some non-toxic ones out there, for your sensitive guests) or some essential oils for an added little touch. Also, you might want to consider adding in a toilet plunger, just to save your guests the awkwardness of asking for one, if need be. Maybe a TMI point to add on here, but it’s very helpful. Trust me! Last but not least, you might also want to consider having some extra toothbrushes, toothpaste, and small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and soap, just in case they forgot anything at home.

Have bedding ready ahead of time

This one specifically applies to when you're having overnight guests. Nothing feels as nice as when you visit friends or family and your bed is already made and towels are already out for you. Plus, it always feels like you're kind of an inconvenience when it comes time for bed and you have to watch your host fumble around for clean sheets. So for an added extra touch, make sure all of this is ready before your guests arrive. Want them to smell great? Make your own wind-down essential oil home spray. It will add a fancy, hotel-like touch for your overnight guests!

Free up space in the bedroom

This one might sound like an odd tip, but so many guest bedrooms nowadays are SMALL. If you have a chair, a bed, a dresser, etc. in the room, your guests might not have any space for their luggage! Free up space, when possible. If you don’t need it, I always recommend getting rid of large furniture pieces (like dressers) that are not really being used much. I would be lying if I said this post is not a promotion for my brand's new collection...but I do not have any shame. I warned you that I would be posting about my brand A LOT and meant it! I am so happy to be releasing a new collection that I have been spending a lot of time on. I am truly proud of myself for even releasing it at all because it has not been easy focusing on this and so many other things but I did it and for that, I will pat myself on the back.

I wanted to share details on one of the lewks I put together for a quick photo shoot I did for my brand. Unfortunately, I was not able to spend as much time getting product photos together like I did with my first collection and others but this set of photos are probably my favorite because of the color palette I chose for the outfit. Now that it is Fall, I needed to let go of my summer inspiration and start putting together Autumn Fashion inspiration so this will be the first of many (if I decide to put something besides sweats on lol). In this lewk, I am wearing a brown Kendall & Kylie mini dress that I got from Pacsun paired with an oversized blazer from Boohoo that has a slightly lighter shade to it. I am also wearing a pair of brown heeled sandals from Ego and I accessorize with a pair of sunglasses from my brand's new collection, a handbag, and plenty of jewelry. Brown is a great Fall color because of the different shades that you can incorporate (that is probably the best thing about the Fall season).

My brand's new collection 'Luxe' is meant to embody its name. Some people may think that the only way you can look good is by looking expensive, which means that they have to buy the most luxurious fashion products that exist. I created the Luxe Collection to show that you can always look expensive while on a budget; fashion is about style, not the designer brands that you wear. I cannot wait to add more products to this collection as well as a new collection in the Winter. I know...I literally said that I would be posting regularly and I am trying to, I really am! I am finally getting back into the groove of getting consistent with social posts, which I love for myself because I have recently been in such a funk for the past 6 months now. I have found that working creatively has definitely helped, plus I am officially done with college...I'm just stuck overthinking about all kinds of stuff but that is life I guess. Luckily, I am slowly but surely getting out of that funk and focusing on what makes me happy right now. With my blog and brand being two outlets that keep me busy but in a good way, I am going to be focusing on them full-time so I will surely be posting regularly now (I even have a schedule and everything lol fingers crossed that I stick to it!)

I wanted to feature this lewk that I put together this past summer. I know it is now Fall so Fall fashion is all that matters but I still have a few more summer lewks to share because Fall is my third favorite fashion season (obviously winter is dead last) so I am slowly starting to bring out my Fall fashion. However, I need to deep clean my wardrobe and sell most of my clothes then give the rest away to Goodwill like how I usually do every season. I mainly put this lewk together to have promo content for my brand since I am wearing a pair of sunglasses from the 'DANGEROUS' collection. I am wearing a tie-dye, long-sleeved, ruched dress along with a pair of white high-heeled sandals and plenty of accessories (what's new). My mom had no idea that Amazon sold clothes and you will honestly be surprised by what you might find on there at an affordable price but Amazon takes enough of my money for my brand so I do not shop their fashion catalog often. The heels are from Boohoo, which is a great place to get very cute yet affordable shoes especially heeled styles.

As for accessories, I accessorize with one of my favorite graphic handbags that I also got from Boohoo. I also accessorize with gold jewelry, a pair of Glossy sunnies from my brand, and a 'Taurus' anklet from Ciety Boutique, a small, black female-owned brand. This dress has actually been in my closet for a while...I had just been waiting to have a reason to create a lewk with it. That's honestly how it is with a lot of clothing items in my closet at the moment but now that it is a new season, I will be putting together Fall lewks very soon. If there is one thing I love about Fall fashion, it is wearing boots and shades of brown. I feel like brown and burgundy are top Fall colors that I need to incorporate more in my wardrobe this season. Let me know the colors that you plan to wear more this season below!

New post alert! As summer is slowly coming to an end (which is absolutely crazy to me), I want to make sure I share all of my summer-inspired lewks like this one which is my favorite. I had the opportunity to collaborate with the brand 'MVMT' to create content styling their 'Santa Monica' watch and its minimalistic yet chic design helped me put together this lewk.

I am wearing a leopard print crop top paired with a long black skirt with slits on both sides. I got this top from the petite section of Boohoo and love the tie-front design. I have been getting into leopard print more, as well as other printed clothing, and the color palette design of this top sets it apart from other leopard-print clothing that I own. Also, this top can easily be paired with any bottoms of choice; if I were to make a new lewk with this same top, I would wear it with a pair of black skinny jeans (but let's be real, I won't lol) or a pair of blue denim jeans or a pair of black or beige leggings. The options are honestly endless. My biggest advice for putting lewks together based on the color palette is to pay attention to a certain color that stands out. This top has a bit of an iris color in it and I have a pair of leggings that are also iris so I could pair this top with it as well.

To accessorize, I am wearing almost every accessory you can think of. I accessorize with a tiny, graphic handbag from Boohoo, plenty of jewelry, and a pair of sunglasses from my brand. I am also wearing a pair of heeled mules from Boohoo and I am here to say that every fashionista should own at least 2 pairs of mules, one with a high heel and one with a low heel. I believe heeled mules with a toe hole and/or with ankle straps provide great support especially if the heel is wide (which I prefer) and any pair of low-heeled mules are super comfortable and easy to style with any outfit. So if you do not own a pair of mules, get one! Boohoo has great styles, however, the sizes are very limited but online shoe stores like Ego, Public Desire, and SIMMI have great styles in sizes up to US 11 (women).

This is an outfit I would wear either to go to brunch with friends or a summer/spring date night...but you kinda have to get asked to go on a date lol. In the meantime, I could wear it just to be cute for a night out treating myself! As I get back into the groove of posting more consistently, expect a new post next week featuring a makeup lewk I did for a recent collaboration with Ulta Beauty!

New post alert! I hope everyone has been doing well and keeping cool and stylish this summer (I know that I have been trying to!). While I love summer and it is my second favorite fashion season, I am always tempted to just wear shorts and a tank top or just anything super comfy that will keep me cool because it is so hot but who said you can't glam up comfy clothes? For this look, I glam up an outfit featuring my favorite pair of basic sweatpants. Now, I will admit that this look is a bit old because it was not as hot when I was wearing it but now the temperatures have started reaching the mid/late 90s so wearing sweatpants is the last thing on my mind unless I'm inside.

In this look, I style a pair of black oversized sweatpants with a white cropped tee, pair of white sneakers, and plenty of accessories. When I put this lewk together, I thought about all the times when I would run out to go to the store but ended up going all over the place to get other things or run other errands then end up bumping into people that I wouldn't expect to bump into and I look bummy and maybe a bit too comfy lol I know we all have those moments. I think this outfit is perfect for those days where you want to be super comfy but still super cute. I could also see myself wearing this during the transition period from summer to fall and the weather is still warm but also getting breezy.

I accessorize with plenty of silver jewelry, one of which is from my brand. I am wearing the 'Butterfly Bling' waist belt from my brand's Icy Babe collection and I am also wearing a pair of 'Prima Donna' sunnies from the OG 00s Collection. Now that I am finishing school, I have been able to refocus on my brand and work on new collections to release this Summer and Fall (I cannot WAIT to release custom clothing this Fall!) and one thing about me is I will always self-promote; I love styling products from my brand any chance that I get. I am also accessorizing with a few products from a woman-owned brand called Ice Princess; I am wearing the 'Heart You' hoops and Plain Chain anklet which both have amazing quality. When it comes to jewelry, I love anything affordable but still made of amazing quality and that is what I love the most about this brand so I would highly recommend checking out the entire catalog on her site!

What's that? A new look featuring a set from DayabyZendaya? Matching clothing apparel will always be in, especially for Spring/Summer. I got this all-black, satin top & pants set in a copper color as well and it looks just as bomb. But with black, I can match with anything of course. I accessorize with this vibrant handbag that I bought in Ghana while I was there for a school trip during my senior year of high school, black sunglasses, and some hand jewelry of course. People always ask me how I can wear all black when it is hot outside but the material of this set is super light, which makes it a great and simple look for a warm Summer day.

Unfortunately, the website for DayabyZendaya is down so it is not possible to buy this set at the moment. I read online that she fired the company producing her clothing line due to customer complaints about their purchases never being shipped (crazy); hopefully, she gets everything sorted out in time for summer because her satin slip dresses are also must-haves.

New post alert after what feels like forever! I promise I am going to be a lot more consistent from now on, especially since I am home for most of the summer and finishing up my last few credits needed to officially be done with college; this leaves me with more time to get back to creating more content. I am also going to be working to grow my brand and plan to use my blog as an outlet for anyone interested in getting some behind-the-scenes access to how I have been managing my brand as well as my personal brand on my Instagram. I will be working with new companies this summer and cannot wait to share the content I create with all of you!

First, I hope all of you are doing well and taking care of yourselves. One of the main reasons I have been getting off track with consistently posting on my socials is because life has gotten very overwhelming but I am learning how to take care of myself every day and feel good about getting back on track. I hope everyone else is able to do the same because life is definitely lifing right now lol. I have a new lewk to share and hopefully provide a bit of style inspiration now that summer is approaching (it honestly already feels like summer outside).

I am wearing a white top with a mesh, ruffle design from Boohoo that is really light, which I love for the summer. Clothing made of light material is perfect for hot weather so I highly recommend stocking up your closet with them to stay cute and cool. I am wearing the top with fitted plaid pants from Urban Outfitters. The weather is getting a lot warmer so I won't be wearing as many pants but if I do, they would either be nice fitted pants like these or wide-legged pants. I accessorize with a fluffy handbag from Boohoo, gold jewelry, a headscarf, and a pair of sunnies from my brand. I am wearing the Champagne for this outfit which is still in stock on my website here! Old look for a new post! I know it has been...forever since I last posted but life has been so busy. I am in my last year of college and wow...I am tired. In fact, that is actually an understatement. I took eighteen credits this semester so I was definitely overworked but I am determined to be done with college right now. Plus, I am getting back into the groove of focusing on continuing to grow my brand and add new products just in time for the summer and my brand's one-year anniversary. So I will be posting a lot more now that the semester is over and summer is approaching!

I created looks for my brand's first collection and I have already shared most of them but I had to include this one because it was one of my top favorite looks. I call this look Prima Donna, which is another word for 'diva,' because it is just so extra. I believe that everyone should be extra with their style every now and then and all it takes is some nice accessories and the perfect outfit.

In this look, I am wearing a corset with a dress shirt which happened spur of the moment. I wanted to wear the corset but also wanted to keep it moderately appropriate because it is still a corset, which means that it is see-through. Also, lace is the perfect fabric to style in different ways. I top the outfit off with a pair of diamanté heels and plenty of accessories including a pair of sunglasses from my 00s Collection for my brand. I am so excited to be launching more collections this summer now that I will have a lot more time to focus on growing it.

While it’s a shame that we haven’t been able to wear most of our outfits to public events in 2020, the new year holds plenty of hope. A milestone like a new year also gives us the chance to reconsider what it is we appreciate about fashion, and the role it plays in our lives.

Now can be a great chance to dig into your wardrobe, see what items work, which don’t, and what new outfits you might like to put together. If this stops feeling like fun, then pause, take a break, and come back to it later. Your clothing should always work for you after all, and it’s no fun if you feel chained to perfection.

But how can you better organize your wardrobe for the new year? What advice might we give for this? And furthermore, how can we deal with the expense after such a long and quite financially draining year? Well, no matter if you spend your savings, use Buddy Loans, or shop more diligently, we have some advice for you:

Organize Your Clothing

Organizing your clothing is a great way to feel more enthusiastic about your outfits, or just knowing what they might be. If you’re anything like most people, you’ll no doubt have clothing items that you haven’t seen or worn in years in your collection. It’s okay to throw some of that out, or to try it all on to see how you fit in it still, as well as how confident or stylish you feel in it. This can be a fun activity! You don’t have to do it all at once, a few days or weeks can give you ample time to organize.

Sell What You Don’t Wear

It can be a great idea to sell that which you don’t want to wear. This not only prevents you from contributing to landfills, but it also gives you the chance to find your clothes in new and appreciative homes. Selling your clothes on apps like Depop, or eBay, or even Instagram can help you not only make a little bit of money, but it gives you the chance to easily rid yourself of your old clothes.

Try Thrift Stores Or Apps Like Depop

You’d be surprised just what amazing clothing you can find for cheap in thrift stores or on apps like Depop. They regularly offer designer clothes for incredible prices, and that in itself can be quite the investment to make. Furthermore, while it is quite sad and unfortunate, many smaller and boutique stores are going out of business due to Covid-19. It can be worth supporting them, or at the very least scoring a good deal from a closing sale, which also helps in its small way. Keeping an eye out and being more adventurous in your dress can certainly help you in a financial sense.

Do You Dread Changing Your Entire Wardrobe? Well, Don't!

We like to think of ourselves as fashionistas who are unique, trendsetting, and never afraid to have a wardrobe that only reflects how we are. Sure, we love to follow celebrities on social media and maybe have a few pieces they have worn themselves, in our collection. But, for the most part, we are confident enough to have a wardrobe we are truly proud to call our own. So when the task of doing an entire change of the lineup of items comes around, we are very hesitant to engage in the idea. Deep down we know, it's all old, tired, stale, and needs to go! So how do you actually start? Firstly, we know that it's going to cost, we know it's not going to be easy to buy a lot of new clothes. So, here is a list of things to begin doing, to make the full transformation.

The rarer breed (10%)

You will find that at least 10% of your wardrobe is never actually worn. You have some items which you hardly touch and for this reason, you need to keep hold of them. These items might be mostly winter clothes as this is usually the smallest group of seasonal clothes you own. So, keep a hold of the leather gloves, scarves, wool overcoats, and knee-high leather boots. Can you see any other items that you don’t wear? Look in these areas.

Underwear which you only wear for saucy evenings with your boyfriend. You might want to keep those, because if it isn’t broke then don’t fix it!
Can you spot any accessories that you don’t wear? We’ve mentioned scarves but what about woolen hats, summer vibe hats, and sunglasses?
Keep hold of your socks if they’re effective. Remember some items you wear because no one can see them anyway, such as thick autumn or winter socks as well as an old but comfortable jumper. These can be saved from the ransacking.

Some rare items such as these can and should be saved. Remember you won’t be emptying the entire wardrobe per se. You should leave 10% of items which you rarely wear so you don’t have to shop for the niche items. This leaves you more money to spend on the things you do wear often.

Change stores and loyalties!

Every single one of us is guilty of becoming slaves to brands we love. Some brands are just amazing and almost everything they create just speaks to us in some way. But, if you want a totally new wardrobe, you have to make a big shift in changing stores. So how do you go about doing this?

Look on wholesales stores such as House of Fraser. They have thousands of brands that have their own product profiles. They build a list of things they sell and also, write a short description of what they stand for. So if you went to find a t-shirt and saw the brand ‘Criminal’, you could read where they are from, when they were established, the type of style they commit to and a general backstory. We have an emotional connection to brands, so this aspect of finding a new brand to love is really important.

Don’t let money hold you back

Money is often the sole aspect of holding is back from doing a total wardrobe clearout. You can take all your old items to the thrift store and get some money from them. But in short, a total overhaul of your items cannot be done with the small amount of money you gain. Instead, look for alternatives like the number of secured loan options you have. You don’t need to have a signatory who will ‘secure’ the loan for you, you can just utilize your own property instead. The great thing is, properties are worth a lot more than any of us can dare to spend on our wardrobes so the loan will easily cover what we need to buy and also, not take a big chunk out of our wallet. The loans will be reasonably spaced out and the payments modified to your choosing.

Bad habits need to die

How many times have you bought an item which just looks fabulous but it doesn’t really fit you? We buy things that look good, but they don’t always suit ‘us’. Everybody is unique and sometimes we cannot pull off items that we desire. Yet, we pay large sums of cash to own them. Girls, we need to stop this and many other bad habits. Here are some to avoid when designing your new wardrobe.

Never buy an item that is designed to be worn a few times. You know the types, the mini-skirts which shrink in the wash, the denim jackets which tend to lose their coloring or the shoes which are so ridiculous that the straps just break after several wears. Items that feel like they won’t last, shouldn’t be entertained.
Don’t buy a ‘seasonal trend’ item. It's only going to be in fashion this year and for 3 months. You want seasonal clothes that are more classic and traditionally popular, such as leather gloves, tartan scarves, Burberry jackets, and floral dresses, etc.
Try not to buy items that are ‘on sale’ but they still cost triple digits. Come on girls, just because a $400 dress has been put on sale after being lowered to $350, doesn’t make it affordable!

Take your time

When you are overhauling your fashion sense, you should take your time. Don’t throw everything out all at once. Make a list of each item and go down the list one by one. For every item, you remove, replace it with another item. Take your time and think it through. This way you at least have something semi-fashionable to wear when you go out for the night.

You’re embarking on a fashion journey that is going to be tough. It will set the mood music for the next year or maybe more. But, once you have a totally new look and a brand spanking new wardrobe, you will be ready to hit the town, on whatever night you wish.

It has been a while since I updated my blog with a beauty post but that is because I have been so busy with creating content...specifically content for Smashbox Cosmetics! Hello beautiful readers! I know I am getting inconsistent with my posting again, I truly apologize, but I have been so overwhelmed for the past month and it makes running my social media + blog soooooooooooooooo stressful. I wanted to make this post to share my picnic look and an update on how running my business has been going since I get a few messages every now and then asking about my brand.

I wanted to keep this look cute and simple; I am wearing a Rust-colored bodycon dress from Femme Luxe with a pair of chunky FILA sneakers (yes, I am here for the chunky sneaker trend) and I accessorize with a cream-colored fluffy hat, a pair of shades from my brand, and gold jewelry. I also accessorize with a small black graphic handbag, which is my fave accessory for this outfit; graphic handbags just add a nice touch to any look because it draws attention. This outfit was perfect for a nice evening spent in the park with friends; let's not forget that there is still a pandemic going on and I am not comfortable with just going out anywhere to sit and dine just yet. Honestly, I do not know how some people are but we have been dealing with this pandemic for a while now so I can understand the urgency...but I am more of a "let me grab my food and go home" kind of person anyway.

I really needed thus picnic day with friends because recently I have been mentally exhausted with everything; I was taking two summer classes for a month all while working to grow my business and implement new ideas and visions. I have probably mentioned this before, but I am a perfectionist. I know that nothing and no one is perfect but I work hard to be perfect in my own eyes; when I shoot content, I want it to fit my aesthetic and meet my own expectations. If you look at my camera roll on my laptop right now you will see over 8,000 photos and 200 videos and most of them are content that never make it on here or my Instagram because they do not meet my expectations. This often leads to me procrastinating with shooting content, but I honestly spend most of my time creating content strictly for my brand now. When I work with other brands, I merge it with content for my brand to save time because I am primarily focused on expanding my brand.

The main thing I have learned since starting my brand is: patience is key. I consider myself to be very patient; I do not like to be rushed and or pressured so I do not rush results. Would I like to make thousands of dollars overnight? Absolutely but that is not realistic when you first start a business. Business can be great some weeks but there will also be some weeks where my website's statistics drop and I do not get a single order; I have been mentally exhausted from marketing like crazy because that is what really drives traffic and sales for my brand. It is important to see what works well for your business and note what may not be working; I rely heavily on social media, specifically Instagram and Facebook because potential customers get a preview of my brand based on the content I create.

Now that I am entering my last year of college, I have also been exhausted from thinking about my future. I am currently studying to go to Law school but I need to take a gap year to just breathe for a moment. I not only want to take a year to work and build up my confidence to attend Law school but I also want to work on my business because it is currently my main source of income. I ended almost all of my PR contracts to focus on my brand but I secured 2 paid sponsorships within the past week; I have reached the point where I do not want to work for any brands if I am not getting paid. Quick advice to my fellow Black content creators: monetize your time and what you have to offer!

If you are thinking about starting your own brand/business I have soooo much advice but the main ones are: start RIGHT NOW, be patient, and do not compare yourself to anyone else. I wanted to create my brand in October 2019 but procrastinated and started overthinking about the kind of products to sell. Then, a pandemic happened and made me realize that there is no reason for me to not start. Now that I have started, I have to constantly tell myself that I cannot expect to make a lot of money overnight and that should not be my main focus. Most people think that starting a business is all about money and while that is a big factor, I love seeing people tag my brand in their pictures and express how much they love the products. Honestly, it makes me forget about the money especially since I created my brand to provide high quality, affordable and stylish products for fashion-forward individuals so it feels amazing to see how confident people are wearing my sunglasses and other accessories. Running a business is definitely not easy, especially when you are doing it alone, but it is very rewarding.

New look alert! This is going to be a quick post detailing this look that I wore to shoot content for my brand plus I am hosting a giveaway! I recently added new styles to my first collection, the 00s Collection, that are now available to shop and this style is one of my favorites. I wanted to add fully-rimless styles to provide major 2000s vibes and I know I am not the only one who has been looking for sunnies like these.

In this look, I am wearing the glasses called "Passion." The ombré design of the lenses is what I love most about this pair; it sort of reminds me of pink and purple cotton candy! This pair is perfect for flirty summer lewks, which is why I styled them with this lavender set from Boohoo; sets are so easy to style and there are easy ways to keep them cute and minimal.
