Nothing "works" in Tosh, here in the Parvati Valley - and we just got the electricity back after over 48 hours of its "collective absence"

Ditto for roads, ditto for water, and ditto for even the most "basic" of collectivistic ideations: Civic Municipal Services, the "root" of even Sidney Webb's most outrageous "Fabian Socialist" fantasies.

So, we can THINK - why not privatise everything? And let disparate businessmen and firms take disparate investment decisions about supplying electricity, roads, water, et. al. - just as they do with et. al. - and then let's et. al. get on with it - the serious business of life, that is.

And - so it seems to me - in this FUCK de India - that we might as well all holler out loud:

Really, to me The Question we really need to ask, especially in this FUCK de India, is:

What is the "collective goal" - or "collective end" - that we are supposedly pursuing with all this overhyped "collective action" called The State (and especially its Central Managers of the Mythical National Economy)?

For, if that "collective goal" or "ultimate end" is the CHIMERA of that Growth Rate Statistic so beloved of all Keynesians as a "means" by which to "beguile the gullible public" into believing that their "collective services" are required for the pursuit of "collective economic ends" - WHERE EVEN THE LOCAL MUNICIPAL ORGANISATION FAILS! - well, Swaminomics has just concluded saying we can COLLECTIVELY FORGET about high growth rates "for the foreseeable future." He says something about THEIR "inefficient corruption," too.

So - FACE IT, dudes.

This is COLLECTIVE FAILURE - at each and every "level" of this Leviathan of a Centralised State.

This means nothing but what This Blog has been asserting for years now - that all solutions lie in The Market, in Competition, in Free International Trade all all that goes with it - like the International Gold Standard - and International Mercantile Law as well.

When it comes to the Gold Standard, I still stand by the last paragraph of my 2009 column advocating its return:

Any nation can unilaterally revert to the gold standard whenever it chooses. If we do so, our rupee, now pegged to gold, will always appreciate against the rest of the world’s fiat papers. This will help us become big importers. And cheap imports, including of capital goods and components, will make our manufactured exports competitive in terms of technology, quality and price. Think about it any which way you like:

If some 6.9999 billion of the total 7 billion humans on this planet are being SCREWED by InflationISM and National Socialism financed by it - then REAL DEMAND for the planet as a whole will always fall.

It's Say's Law vs. the Keynesians - and I discussed this in a 2008 column, actually.

Thus, when people like me assert - and keep on repeatedly asserting - that all solutions lie in the Free & Competitive Internationalised Market - it means nothing else than that the MISMANAGERS of the MYTHICAL COLLECTIVE ECONOMY must go - the way of the dodo.

Free International Trade means - what else? - that the consumptions, possessions and properties of the people will rise with open borders - just as the value of their savings will rise with sound money - and the entire planet will progress towards CIVILISATION.

Aaaaaah? Do I hear a New Word, there? This New Word called:

CIVILISATION

What does This Collective Goal require of The Collective?

Sound Municipal Organisation, for one - while keeping in mind that "Rome was not built in a day."

And NO COLLECTIVE ECONOMIC BULLCRAP.

It is to be a World of Private Economies, Private Monies, Private Law, and of PRIVACY from The State and its snoops.

Thus, it seems to me at least - that The Logic of Collective Choice in this FUCK de India says, loud and clear:

Two editorials in my Daily Business Noose were troubling - the first titled "Resetting rules of the game" batting for Raguram Rajan, the Chicago univershitty don currently the new Chief Economic Advisor to our The State, who advocates regulationISM - and the second, ominously titled "Framing laws outside Parliament" bowling a beamer at the pretensions of Sonia G's National Advisory Council - and, talking of regulation and regulators - let us also include Swami's Sunday CRAPonomics, titled "India needs a statutory independent Police Commission."

Now, a Republic can either be governed by LAW - or by RULES. The former are Property, Contract and Torts - the latter are MANMADE - and made anew each day. Which would you prefer - for your Security, and for its CERTAINTY?

I do not need to tell my ever so clever reader that regulations and regulators have Comprehensively Failed in India - in electricity, in mining, in forestry, in telecom, civil aviation, insurance, and everything else. In all of these, the State itself is a player - and unfair competitor, and these regulators are all empowered by Legislation they themselves frame, which are used to protect incumbents aligned to them, while keeping outsiders who want to provide genuine competition out. The consumer loses, the industry loses, the democratic process loses, and even civil servants become corrupt players in this game of EVIL.

Of all three - the two edits and Swami's column cited above - Swami's is the Most Absurd - and it points to why such weird ideas need to be Ridiculed in Public Opinion:

First - policing is a LOCAL SUBJECT.

Second - the National Police Commission of Dharma Vira has its 15-volume report of 1972 still lying in the cupboards of some State Office - for it was never allowed to be tabled in Parliament.

Saturday reading in my Daily Business Noose Weekend Special is highly predictable EVIL - the Keynesian Nobel Laureate Paul Krugman's NYT columns published internationally by that Anti-Capitalist George Soros' Project Syndicate - and today's offering from Krugman is The Very Height of Evil - for it is titled "Not Enough Inflation."

Proves one thing at least - that KeynesianISM = InflationISM.

Good thing that this EVIL COLUMN will be read all over The Planet - for the US Fed actually EXPORTS much of this inflation - through FIIs, for example.

I suggest my reader carefully go through two recent posts from the Natural Order Blog - the first on the Bank of Japan's recent monetary stimulus - which concludes that the BoJ will also be exporting inflation.

On The RBI's Fraudulent Creation Of CREDIT - and its consequences

Just this morning I wrote that the RBI is bullshitting about inflation - and the latest business noose is that they have cut rates - and two more such cuts in their interest rates are to follow - ostensibly to "stimulate" economic growth. But can anyone believe them anymore?

After all, as a wise man put it:

"I am not hurt by the fact that you lied to me. I am hurt that I cannot believe you any more."

Think about it:

How can economic growth occur in the LONG TERM - that is, STEADY growth without these periodic booms-and-busts - these "business cycles" - if SAVINGS are being steadily eroded in Value - and if Capital is being consumed - while Banking is LOSING!

Will ZERO interest rates cause growth? Ask the US Fed, or the Bank of Japan, or even the ECB, for they, too, have just CUT rates - to half a percent!

Remember:

INFLATIONism = Monetary & CREDIT FRAUD.

Today, let us "understand" fraudulent credit creation.

They are simply lending out pieces of paper on interest. Nothing backing it. Credit creation out of nothing is Serious Fraud.

They are NOT "bankers."

Their banking cartel - organised around the RBI - which monopolises Note Issue - and bails them out always - is BANKSTERism - as in GANGSTERism.

This banksterISM - which is KeynesianISM - must be ENDED forthwith - for the sake of Civilisation - which requires Private Capital Accumulation - and not this Wholesale Capital Consumption.

The RBI has "predicted" 6% growth accompanied by 6.5% inflation - the figures clearly indicating Capital Consumption.

I have only just discussed how Keynesians LIE with their disparate growth rate predictions.

Today - let me focus on the RBI's inflation prediction BULLSHIT.

Their 6.5% is an AVERAGE - measured by a Statistical INDEX in which the varying prices of a "basket of goods" are WEIGHTED according to their importance.

Now, just as the Stock Market INDEX is an AVERAGE - so is the Price Index. And just as punters buy and sell individual stocks whose prices vary HIGHER than the index, so it is with goods we buy - and many goods will show price rises higher than 6.5%.

For example - GOLD - which is why they want to raise its retail price by imposing taxes. Their banking cartel is COMPETING with Gold for your savings - and their practice is yet another instance of Unfair Competition.

Of course, as my old article "Funny Money" shows, the RBI CAUSES INFLATON when they expand the supply of money & cheap credit - but the point worth noting today is that they themselves do NOT know how much inflation they will cause.

For example - we know that if FIIs pump in US$30 billion into the Stock Market the Share Price Index will soar - but we do not know by exactly how much. And as far as Individual stocks are concerned, we know even less - save for the same:

That is, if we know US$1 billion is being pumped into a particular company's shares, they will rise in value for sure. We know this - but we cannot know by exactly how much.

In other words:

Economic Laws are QUALITATIVE - and NOT QUANTITATIVE.

The RBI - like all Keynesians - is BULLSHITTTING the sheeple.

However - 6% growth and 6.5% inflation means your Precious Capital is being ERODED in Value - silently - by Stealth - and by Deception.

It's an ECONOMIC WAR - against their own people.

So, forget about China or Pakistan being a "threat."

The real threat is this PREDATORY STATE.

They have raised taxes on gold jewelry - and also raised customs duty on gold imports - which is why gold prices are down for the past few days.

I noticed that the maid - a sweet kitchen-help named Kanta - did NOT take Swami's advice of a few Sundays ago to SELL her little GOLD -and, on the CONTRARY, she told me she BOUGHT a little more to add to her CAPITAL stock. Smart - I thought.

When I mischievously asked her why she did not sell considering prices were crashing - she said, "Am I a FOOL to sell gold when it is cheap only to buy later when it is dear?"

Yesterday, I told her that gold prics are depressed somewhat because of TAXES - and to hold on forever to whatever she has. I also advised her to buy silver or copper with any savings she might have in banks or insurance - hoping these are not taxed as heavily. She nodded - and said that was a Capital Idea.

Now - she is being CHEATED by our The State. They are DELIBERATELY reducing the value of her Capital - while practicing Inflationist-Welfarism.

The RBI is expected to CUT interest rates soon.

And DECIVILISATION will occur - because Private Capital Accumulation will FALL.

A POLITICAL RIGHT TO FOOD will only WORSEN things - because it will be financed by inflationary means - and all the CAPITAL will be CONSUMED anyway!

1. They want to LOWER INTEREST RATES now - bcause inflation is lower - so says my Daily Business Noose.

Obviously then, SAVERS (the Vast Majority) will get FUCKED.

Corporate Big Borrowers will receive Subsidised Loans.

So will CONSUMERS - but if Sound Money prevailed, which means No Inflation whih means Savings earn interest while Prices Fall - they would buy their Cars and Houses from their own Savings.

How can such a "scheme" succeed?

It cannot.

It is "designed to fail."

Gandoo Keynes said, "In the Long Run, we are ALL DEAD."

And Mario Puzo also wrote "Fools Die."

What if there was ECONOMIC FREEDOM - and all "cosensual trades" were free.

Singers, dancers, DJs, discos, bars, ganja-charas, coca, et. al. - FREE!

What if TAXES were largely ABOLISHED - and a MINIMAL CIVIC CORPORATION in each Free Republic handled common amenities.

And MONEY was HARD - gold, silver, copper.

So, what is their Real Scheme?

The latest Swaminomics is EVIL (28 April, 2013) - titled "Growth improves Wages more than MGNREGS" - for their Inflationary Financing of this "scheme" - which erodes the value of the Savings and Capital of the Vast Majority (who cannot borrow) - while subsidising Big Borrowers - actually Destroys Market Demand (Say's Law).

Get it straight - when the Vast Majority see their Savings eroded by InflationISM - they Invest less - they produce less - they therefore DEMAND less.

GROWTH? - Forget it. There has only been a General Rise in Prices - accompanied by a General Fall in Market Demand - because of a General Theory by that choothiya, Lord Keynes.

WAGES? - they rise LAST - so even keynesians call them STICKY - which is the kind of WICKET Swami is batting on.

HARD MONEY - is what is required - but...

They have again raised the import duty on gold. People are buying ETF "gold on paper" - but I wouldn't trust these, ever. Look at Saradha. Physical gold is best.

I was in my early 20s during the Thatcher decade of the 1980s - a decade that saw Reagan, Deng, and Gorbachov as well - with "Winds of Change" sweeping over the world - a decade that ended with New Labour (a "reformed" party with a New Constitution) in Britain, the breaking of the Berlin Wall and the re-unification of Germany, the breakup and disintegration of the USSR, and Tianenmen Square in a China that had abandoned Mao for good.

Yet - for me and My Mind - it was Mrs. T who had the biggest impact.

Contrast the rhetoric:

REAGAN - more of a stand-up comedian than a "thinking man." Exactly what Gore Vidal then said of the US presidency on television - that their power elite simply "hire actors to play the role."

GORBACHOV - glasnost and perestroika - signifying Soviet Communism was doomed.

DENG - "To be rich is glorious" - signifying Maoism was over and done with.

THATCHER - "There is no such thing as 'society.'"

Yes - she was the "thinking politician." And the things she said and did - privatisation, for example - or cuting down the British Welfare State - breaking the labour unions - or encouraging Freddie Laker's "Skytrain" to take on he airline cartel with the world's first low-cost international airline - these are what made me realise that the matter I wanted to deal with was the IDEOLOGICAL BATTLE of our times - and it is that which has brought me this far. She was reallly a Gladstonian Liberal - a Whig and not a Tory.

Yes - it was Mrs. T who caused the "think tank revoluion" - by carefully studying their reports, and implementing all sensible ideas. Think tanks are DEAD today.

The BBC serial - "Yes, Minister" was encourged by Mrs. T - to popularise public choice theory - which assumd self-interested BUREAUCRACY. She hated them - as "budget-maximisers!

BUDGETS - she hated deficits. Her famous 3Es were: Economy, Efficiency & Economy! She would have FUCKED QE1, QE2 and QE3.

Yes - it was Mrs. T who cited Hayek in parliament - who proclaimed Frederic Bastiat to be her favourite economist.

And that is how I came to meet her - in 2002 - when I received the Frederic Bastiat Award from her - a crystal candlestick commemorating Bastiat's satirical masterpiece against protectionists, "The Candlemakers' Petition."

During our brief conversation later, she proclaimed India's socialist regime to be a Naked Tyranny after I told her:

"Even if we invited you to be the leader our party, it would be illegal."

"TYRANNY," she cried.

And you all know what an efect her raised voice has!

I'll never forget that sound.

Yes - Mrs. T cited Hayek's Law, Legislation & Liberty in the House of Commons, recommending it to all members.

This blog has for long indicted The State for currency and banking fraud - and the Sharadha Group's deposit-taking scandal in West Bengal, a "scheme" actively promoted by the chief minister herself, one involving several of her ministers and the wife of the Union Finance Minister as well is just an example of the same, so it is pertinent to consider whether the Private Laws of Property & Contract are sufficient to govern money and banking, or whether, as MORONS will insist, we need these Serious Frauds in S t a t e S employ to "check" such Serious Frauds.

Now, people-like-me advocate REPUDIATION of the Public Debt (held by CRONIES) as the only way to end central banking as well as the debt burden they have imposed on wee the sheeple on behalf of The State in one fell swoop. What will this imply for the Sharadha Group - when the government of West Bengal has imposed fresh taxes towards a Sharadha Relief Fund, taxes mostly on cigarettes, because of which their chief minister is now encouraging smoking, saying it's "for a good cause."

Well, if money is Property, the poorest would save in copper coins; these would increase in value; there would be no inflation; and private capital accumulation would progress, taking civilisation along with it. All-round progress would ensue.

Today, the Union Finance Minister owns India's only copper mine - part of our CommonLoss! Ironic.

Now, if taxes are raised on cigarettes, smokers will have less left over for their other needs, so all NON-COMPETING businesses will face declining demand.

Cheaper competitive industries will see growth in demand - such as BIDIS.

The PUBLIC LOOT that is Sharadha will be followed by a Sharadha Relief that will result in a decline in standards of Public Consumption and Public Health.

Further, all non-competing businesses will suffer - in a recesion!

Worse still - employment in high wage, capital intensive cigarette manufacture will decline, while that in low wage labour intensive bidis will rise - causing further demand declines as INFLATION rages in a RECESSION accompanied by HIGH INDIRECT TAXES (which are REGRESSIVE).

Hence, the poorest cigarette smokers who smoke MOST of the total cigarettes sold - they will switch to bidis.

And they cannot run a Copper Mine at a profit!

No siree! Gimme the Natural Order any day. The Private Laws of Property and Contract governing money and banking - not this Serious Fraud.

Buzz Off Rahul Gandhi – And Take Your CII Drones With You – Back To Your CONgress Beehive – or, A First Lesson In Praxeology, The Science Of Human Action - With some concluding remarks on his BJP opponent, Narendra Modi

I was quite looking forward to at least one of the Sunday columnists taking on Rahul Gandhi’s comparison of our billion-and-a-quarter Indian sheeple with a beehive – but since none have done so, I decided to perform this essential journalistic function myself.

Bees and wasps – they have “evolved” out of ants and termites, respectively; equipped now with wings and mildly poisonous stings; yet, as with their Darwinian ancestors, both are “colonisers.”

So, indeed, are homo sapiens – this homo oeconomicus who comes pre-equipped with a “trading human mind,” prepossessed of “a natural propensity to truck, barter, and exchange,” for whom CITIES perform essentially the same function as anthills and beehives do for their residents. Yet, there are more differences than similarities to this overall picture, this comparison, and this metaphor. So, let us begin with the one-and-only similarity – just to “see” where this centrally planned India is - with its five metro CITIES and its innumerable mini metros - in comparison with the “instinctive intelligence” of those tiny creatures with pin-head sized brains: bees, wasps, ants and termites.

Colonising bees, wasps, ants and termites “know” one thing “instinctively”: that their “colony” – their “home” – the hive or hill – contains NOTHING within it for their sustenance, so they themselves must continuously scour the countryside around, and return to their colony with whatever they find, these being necessary not only for themselves, but also for their progeny, which they also produce “instinctively,” all the larvae that are waiting to hatch. Thus, bees, wasps, ants and termites are forever to be found OUTSIDE the colony during daylight – never taking a minute off. Indeed, there is a PROVERB in the BOOK OF SOLOMON instructing the SLUGGARD to “perceive the ant” – and WORK! We call many of these species “workers” – there are “worker bees” as well as “worker ants.”

When it comes to CITIES – for HUMANS – the picture we “see” makes for a stark contrast between our petrified centrally planned socialist Indian civilization and the advanced West, surely because this Book of Solomon is taken as Very Serious Distilled Wisdom of Ages Past in the latter. Thus, in the West, having LEARNT MUCH from bees, wasps, ants and termites by “perceiving” them, they say:

EVERY GREAT CITY SITS LIKE A GIANT SPIDER ON ITS TRANSPORT NETWORK

We in centrally planned India possess no such city. Our civilization is a transportation disaster. It is almost as though the central planner, busy drafting plans of “food security,” believes bananas grow within his city walls – while we all “know” that why only bananas - even mangoes, papayas and so many other EXOTIC FRUIT are “ripened artificially” for city markets – because NO TRANSPORT CONNECTIONS exist between orchard and city market. If these were allowed to naturally ripen on the tree they would SURELY ROT well before arrival in the market.

And why just fruit – take a look at milk, or fish, or flowers.

Mostly, anything perishable perishes in India before arriving at markets.

The losses are ENORMOUS.

Thus, our central planners’ BRAINS are SMALLER in size as compared to bees, wasps, ants and termites.

And I haven’t begun to STING, yet!

Let us therefore set aside these central planners and CII-types who PRAISED this speech to high heavens – all these DRONES of the CONgress beehive, all beholden to their Queen Bee. And let us look at OURSELVES – all us homo sapiens – this homo oeconomicus who comes pre-equipped with a “trading human mind,” prepossessed of “a natural propensity to truck, barter, and exchange,” for whom CITIES perform essentially the same function as anthills and beehives do for their residents.

Wee the sheeple – who TRADE in CITY MARKETS.

Nothing about trading is “instinctive” – and everything about it is “individualistic.” Each and every unique human being produces and exchanges depending on ideas, thoughts and subjective valuations within his own trading mind. In other words, NOTHING about these ideas, thoughts and subjective valuations have ANYTHING to do with CHEMICALS. There is NO PHYSIOLOGICAL PSYCHOLOGY involved precisely because nothing is “instinctive.”

Let us now proceed onto your first lesson in Praxeology, The Science Of Human Action, with this ASSERTION:

HUMANS ACT – BY PURPOSIVELY CHOOSING ENDS – AND BY PROVIDING MEANS THAT THEY GIVE UP IN EXCHANGE - ALL ENTIRELY BASED ON THEIR OWN SUBJECTIVE VALUATIONS OF BOTH THE MEANS AS WELL AS THE ENDS.

Further, and most importantly, nothiing about man's purposive choosing of either ends or means can be explained or described in the terminoilogy of physics or chemistry - based on physiological happenings that led to these deliberate choices.

MAN IS AN ACTING AND VALUING EGO.

Thus, I have ACTED – to “produce” this essay for the sheer pleasure of it – by renouncing Sunday leisure. Some might find this action odd - and many might even call it insane - to "work for nothing" - but that only serves to prove that Value is Subjective.

To “understand” the non-instinctive, unique, indeed even CREATIVE nature of Human Action we need only appreciate the fact that NO STIMULUS-RESPONSE AUTOMATISM dominates. Humans react differently to the same stimuli. And the same human being reacts to the same stimuli differently at different points of time as well as at different geographical locations. The Psychology of Behaviourism, and its by-product, Experimental Psychology, do NOT apply to Human Action.

We can now “see” how The Humanities – comprising Praxeology, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Law, Politics and History – have ALL GONE WRONG, only because Basic Praxeology remains UNKNOWN.

Therefore, Human Society – THE CITY – is NOT a “beehive” or an “anthill” – and is an INDIVIDUALISTIC CATALLAXY. It is OPEN to humans from other cities – to Complete Strangers like TOURISTS. Such Open Societies are unknown among even all the higher mammals.

Yet – this is a NATURAL ORDER exactly as is any beehive or anthill – only very different. Of course, its Full Potential is being thwarted by Deliberate Force: Customs & Immigration, Police, the RBI, etc. All these must GO!

Further, the word “individualistic” implies that each of us is UNIQUE & NON-REPEATABLE. Further, we are more like STARS in the COSMOS than bees in a beehive. Of course, we do NOT have “fixed orbits” – we CHOOSE. We PURSUE ENDS deliberately chosen. We are also NOT like the atoms of Quantum Mechanics – neither are they unique, neither are they non-repeatable, and they do possess predictability, which we do NOT, at least not in the manner of the objects of nature that form the subject matter of Physics.

There is an element of CREATIVITY in EVERYTHING humans do – and even two cups of tea are never the same when prepared by two different people. This PROVES we are not Stimulus-Response Automatons.

The best example is of Newton and the apple.

A ripe fruit falling on anyone else’s head would in all likelihood been something to rejoice over – and immediately consume. Fin.

Newton – this Stimulus prompted His Mind to “discover” something not known before – the Laws of Gravity.

Now, for MILLENNIA before – birds have been crapping on human heads – something quite DISGUSTING to the person who owns that head – which ought to have made that person “think” about the ANGLE at which the crap fell and so on – and thereby discover these very same laws millennia before Sir Isaac Newton – but NO!

We are NOT “drones.” THEY ARE! Go to ANY POLITICAL PARTY HQRS – or to ANY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE – and all you see are these DRONES BUZZING AROUND.

Tell them all – BUZZ OFF!

The day after Ra-Ga spoke to CII, Na-Mo spoke to the FICCI ladies - and, interestingly, both are bachelors of the "celibate" variety.

Na-Mo told the women of FICCI, "Government is about files, while governance is about life."

FALSE.

Actually, government is about LAWS alone - NOT "legislation."

While THE MARKET is what LIFE is about.

Two Big Zeroes - Ra-Ga & Na-Mo.

As gold prices have been crashing, contrasting views have been expressed in the columns of the eminent - with Swaminathan Aiyar calling on housewives to sell their gold - and V Anantha Nageswaran saying, "Time to buy precious metals."

Both analyses are devoid of Theory - comprising History alone - and whereas this cannot be excused in Aiyar, it can for Nageswaran, who is a "market player."

This week, Aiyar has altered tack - again employing history alone to argue that a "new recession" is nigh. In the meantime, Manas Chakravarty of Mint, employing history - what else are statistics? - has argued that this may just be a "Reprieve for the Indian economy." The following quote from the latter article is "interesting":

Gold prices, however, are another matter. If it’s true that gold demand in recent years is the result of safe-haven buying as a hedge against the risks in the global economy, then gold prices are unlikely to fall very much. Huge risks continue to be present—the euro zone is by no means out of the woods, the US recovery is weak, there are many uncertainties about China, such as the warning by a Chinese auditor that local debt is out of control. And, as the rush to buy jewellery last week showed, lower prices could lead to higher demand for gold ornaments.

In the meantime, the other snippets worth mentioning from my Daily Business Noose are:

1. All the "noise" about inflation being down - so THEY can inflate further!

2. Rs. 30,000 crores (! crore = 10 million) bond auction for FIIs - which will pump up the stock market index.

3. Cheer in the stock exchanges.

4. Gloom in property markets - the "real estate sector" - both commercial as well as residential sectors are down.

5. Gloom in the automobile industry as well.

6. General gloom.

But THINK - about YOUR precious savings.

If they say, "Inflation is down, so we shall lower interest rates to pump up the economy" - then interest on your deposits will FALL.

All prices will rise - not just the prices of shares - and so will that of gold. YOU must yourself "speculate" on what is best for you.

Now - for the THEORY:

1. To "understand" why this NEW RECESSION is following close on the heels of the last one - read this excellent and brief explanation of the "Austrian Business Cycle Theory." The central banks CAUSE it - to further "political" interests. And politicians are all driven by the UGLY VOTE MOTIVE.

2. The "political business cycle theory" - which predicts what THEY are trying in this FUCK de India:

A business cycle that results primarily from the manipulation of policy tools (fiscal policy, monetary policy) by incumbent politicians hoping to stimulate the economy just prior to an election and thereby greatly improve their own and their party's reelection chances. Expansionary monetary and fiscal policies have politically popular consequences in the short run (tax cuts, falling unemployment, falling interest rates, new government spending on services for special interests, etc.).

Unfortunately these very policies, especially if pursued to excess, can also have very unpleasant consequences in the longer term (accelerating inflation, an unsustainably low rate of savings to support future investment, damage to the foreign trade balance, long-term expansion of government's share of the GNP at the expense of people's disposable incomes, etc.).

So immediately after the election is over (and the next election is far away), politicians tend to “bite the bullet” and reverse course by raising taxes, cutting spending, slowing the growth of the money supply, allowing interest rates to rise, etc. Thus the regular holding of elections tends to produce a boom-and-bust pattern in the economy because of the on-again-off-again pattern of government stimulus and restraint encouraged by trying to schedule an artificial boom at every election time.

In my view, you ought to buy gold.

In my view,shares will get you gains - but only for a while. How long the good times will last - who knows? But gold will last forever.

In my view, they are doomed - for "consumption loans" (cars, housing, etc. including credit cards) will see massive defaults. Their banks are already down in the dumps - and they will sink further. For there are precious few "productive projects" worth extending credit to. Not unsurprising, when you do not know the True Source of Market Demand.

Now for another quote from the optimistic Manas Chakravarty:

Does this mean the economy is out of the woods? Not really. Food inflation remains a problem. Consumer price inflation continues to be very high. The factors that have propped up food prices in recent years, such as spending on social programmes in rural areas, high support prices for food procurement and low agricultural productivity, are unlikely to go away.

And part of the reason inflation is going down is because growth is so low. Businesses do not have pricing power. There are few signs of a recovery. A recent RBI study showed that in the December quarter, sales contracted for all the companies in the study except the largest firms.

Also, the structural headwinds facing the economy haven’t gone away. The problems in the power sector remain, as do the hurdles for getting projects off the ground. Finally, political uncertainty continues and there’s no guarantee that an election will provide a solution.

So, we really do not need a "political business cycle."

We need gold as money & legitimate banking - as I have explained here.

CONgress vs. BJP: Ra-Ga vs. Na-Mo?

Get THEIR "balances" in order.

And this is what I shall begin with today.

Let us begin with the most outstanding example of an ECONOMIST that India has ever produced - the late Professor BR Shenoy, himself a product of the LSE. Professor Shenoy was a member of the OFFICIAL "Panel of Economists" asked to submit their opinions on The EVIL jawaharlal nehru's Second Five-Year Plan - the one which started off nehru's crackpot scheme of APING the USSR with his very own STEEL PLANTS: "heavy industrialisation under State-Ownership." And yes - PLENTY of DEFICIT FINANCING went into this "plan" - conducted by cd deshmukh, his munimji.

Professor BR Shenoy - was The Only One on that Official Panel of Economists to pen a "Note of Dissent" - to prefer being an ECONOMIST rather than Salute a Choothiya - and he willingly took the Severe Consequences that Inevitably Followed: getting Thrown out of Academia, and ultimately Dying in Obscurity.

Yet - there will always remain the Historical Record of Peter, Lord Bauer's TRIBUTE to Professor BR Shenoy - calling the man:

Incidentally, his illustrious daughter, the late Sudha Shenoy, also of the LSE, has written that her father could EASILY have become RBI Governor then - because of his High Academic Standing - but this Note of Dissent - it dun him in.

Let me now turn to The Great David Hume - in Mises' words, from the same chapter-and-verse I quoted the other day:

A rather superficial and shallow view of the problems of government saw the distinction between freedom and despotism in an outward feature of the system of rule and administration, viz., in the number of people exercising direct control of the social apparatus of coercion and compulsion. Such a numerical standard is the basis of Aristotle's famous classification of the various forms of government. The concepts of monarchy, oligarchy, and democracy still preserve this way of dealing with the matter. Yet its inadequacy is so obvious that no philosopher could avoid referring to facts which did not agree with it and therefore were considered paradoxical. I almost DIED LAUGHING after reading bits-and-pieces of my Daily Business Noose from their website - their top story being on The Forthcoming Indian Bank Run - and the column by that good fella "market player" predicting HELL BREAKING LOOSE for the ReserveLESS Bank of India - after which I was enjoying myself in the garden when a horrible noise broke overhead - this Air Force Fighter Jet fuckin' around on legal tender funny money - and I stuck my finger at the sky and predicted that soon this fella would be jobless, pensionless, and probably pushing a pushcart on the streets, selling peanuts or something like that.

Most interestingly, the column by that good fella provided a link to a speech delivered by the Governor of this ReserveLESS Bank of India at the London School of CRAPonomics - that too, in honour of the memory of one of his MOST DISHONOURABLE predecessors - about which speech, and predecessor, more - in a later post.

Contrast this with the Evil Collectivist - and here is Mises himself, from his Theory and History: An Interpretation of Social and Economic Evolution (1957) Chapter 3 "The Quest for Absolute Values" pp. 35-65:

The collectivist doctrine fails to recognize that social cooperation is for man a means for the attainment of all his ends. It assumes that irreconcilable conflict prevails between the interests of the collective and those of individuals, and in this conflict it sides unconditionally with the collective entity. Sounds familiar, huh?

But then, Mises points out, TWO QUESTIONS ARISE:

First: If it were true that the interests of the collective and those of individuals are implacably opposed to one another, how could society function? One may assume that the individuals would be prevented by force of arms from resorting to open rebellion. But it cannot be assumed that their active cooperation could be secured by mere compulsion. A system of production in which the only incentive to work is the fear of punishment cannot last. It was this fact that made slavery disappear as a system of managing production.

Second: If the collective is not a means by which individuals may achieve their ends, if the collective's flowering requires sacrifices by the individuals which are not outweighed by advantages derived from social cooperation, what prompts the advocate of collectivism to assign to the concerns of the collective precedence over the personal wishes of the individuals? Can any argument be advanced for such exaltation of the collective but personal judgments of value?

Now, what is ANY COLLECTIVIST's "personal judgement of value" as to WHAT is The Best Collective?

Well, first it is CRAP like Economic Equality for Workers - the Vast Majority, whose Votes they seek on their Karl Kautsky Path:

The basis of contemporary socialism and interventionism is judgments of value. Socialism is praised as the only fair variety of society's economic organization. All socialists, Marxians as well as non-Marxians, advocate socialism as the only system consonant with a scale of arbitrarily established absolute values. These values, they claim, are the only values that are valid for all decent people, foremost among them the workers, the majority in a modern industrial society. They are considered absolute because they are supported by the majority—and the majority is always right.

Towards this END, what the Evil Collectivist conjures up is this:

The concept of absolute and eternal values is an indispensable element in this totalitarian ideology. A new notion of truth was established. Truth is what those in power declare to be true. The dissenting minority is undemocratic because it refuses to accept as true the opinion of the majority. Is mankind as a whole the sole legitimate collective or is each of the various nations? Is the collective to which the German-speaking Swiss owe exclusive allegiance the Swiss Confederacy or the Volksgemeinschaft comprising all German-speaking men? All major social entities such as nations, linguistic groups, religious communities, party organizations have been elevated to the dignity of the supreme collective that overshadows all other collectives and claims the submission of the whole personality of all right-thinking men. But an individual can renounce autonomous action and unconditionally surrender his self only in favor of one collective. Which collective this ought to be can be determined only by a quite arbitrary decision. The collective creed is by
necessity exclusive and totalitarian.

Contrast this with a Free Society - and here is Mises again:

The characteristic feature of a free society is that it can function in spite of the fact that its members disagree in many judgments of value. In the market economy business serves not only the majority but also various minorities, provided they are not too small in respect of the economic goods which satisfying their special wishes would require. Philosophical treatises are published—though few people read them, and the masses prefer other books or none—if enough readers are foreseen to recover the costs.

On The Idea Whose Time Has Gone - To Be Replaced By SCIENCE: Final Take +3

The "ideas" - as well as the "practices" - of socialism, communism, mass democracy, legislationISM, welfarISM financed by inflationISM, and WARs, both internal as well as external - these Ideas of Universal Decivilisation condemned in yesterday's post - these ideas and practices are NEW - dating back to about the 1850s.

The Science of Economics has "evolved" out of classical liberal political economy - itself a product of the Scottish Enlightenment, of Whiggism, and of John Locke's Treatises on Civil Government (1691) in which Locke declared:

Where there is No Property, there is No Justice.

To which we could add, today - There Cannot be Any Trade without Property - thus it took me just 400 words to argue for a Ban on Communsim in the Times of India long ago.

Locke - he was The Prophet of the Honourable East India Company Service (HEICS) - their "covenanted civil servants" who ruled much of India till 1857 - without any LEGISLATIONism - but with The Laws of Property & Contract - without any central bank (1934) - without any Police Force (1861) - and even without any Penal Code (1863).

The Indian National Congress AO Hume founded in 1885 was "classical liberal" - and all this changed when Hume (a "Haileybury Man") died, nationalism and socialism combined to take over the INC after 1905 - and first, the LUDDITE MORON gandhi; and then, The nehru Dynasty - made things WORSE.

Thus, the FOOLISH IDEAS deprecated in yesterday's post - such as all the SHEEPLE being unarmed while a State Police is supposedly an Armed Monopoly for the purposes of Public Security - and their FUDGETs keep growing alongwith Public INSECURITY! - and so on... to the very foolish idea that THEY OWN EVERYTHING while the sheeple own nothing - methinks it is indeed High Time for these Foolish Ideas to be Done Away With - BEGONE!

Looking after oneself - looking after one's body and one's health, and being responsible for both - protecting one's very soul from EVIL - these are practicable - but to ENTRUST the POWER ELITE to do all this and more for ALL is FOLLY - that they Be Responsible because The Sheeple are not - for what is evident is that they are not only IRRESPONSIBLE - they have made the sheeple incapable of being responsible! - first, by Deliberately Impoverishing them all - and then, by Deliberately Miseducating them all.

So, let us ALL return to the Olde, Tried & Tested PRINCIPLES of Western CIVILISATION - and today's post is on the Science of Economics, which evolved out of these, in the works of Carl Menger and Ludwig von Mises, the former in the late 19th century, and the latter in the mid-20th century.

In today's post, I shall focus attention on Another Reason why Mises and his "student," the noballs laureate friedrich hayek, must needs be De-Homogenised – in which connection Joseph Salerno's paper de-homogenising the two lists out all the Other Reasons.

hayek – his "theory of the fragmentation of knowledge" did prove the impracticability of socialist central planning – about which hayek asserted, "What cannot be known cannot be planned."

But MISES – he had DESTROYED all the claims of central planners being even remotely "rational" aeons before – and as for his Science – what he said is:

What Does Not Exist, Cannot Be Discovered.

This is MISES' EPISTEMOLOGY – and what he means is this:

The "regularities" that other economists seek to "measure" – including Keynesians, Planners and Econometricians – DO NOT EXIST.

All the DATA of The Market are always in Permanent Flux - no "regularities" can even be OBSERVED, let alone "measured" - And this Scientific Truth is a Discovery! - which is why this Science has taken so long to happen, and is the Youngest of all the Sciences known to Man. But it lies at The Pith of Civilisation - so, it is for ALL to know its basic teachings well.

REGULARITIES - as with night and day, the phases of the moon, the seasons, the solstices and equinoxes, the tides, the movements of the celestial bodies, or even the falling of apples on one's head - these regularities of the Outside World - first OBSERVED - and then MEASURED - to yield Mathematical Constants - these have been SCIENCE, so far - in particular, PHYSICS.

But The Market is Very Different: Consumer Choices & Preferences, Prices, Quantities - they ALL remain in constant flux.

There are No Constants - and ALL ARE VARIABLES.

And it is pointless to talk of variables where there are only invariables.

The very idea that by MEASUREMENT we can arrive at SCIENTIFICALLY VALID QUANTITATIVE PREDICTIONS on matters to do with MARKETS is NONSENSE!

ACTING MAN – does NOT respond to the same situation in the same way each and every time – as with the Inanimate Objects of Nature – or with the simpler creatures, who do show patterns of regular "stimulus-response."

ACTING MAN – Acts! – and he does so PURPOSEFULLY – with a WILL – to CREATE.

And WEALTH - is "created anew" with each passing day by acting humans.

While WEALTH - is DESTROYED by governments worldwide today.

This, indeed, is the Ultimate Difference between MISES and hayek - the latter wrote NOTHING on Epistemology - nothing on Science - and as for his tiring treatise on "physiological psychology," The Sensory Order - it has NOTHING to do with LOGIC - which comes first; that is, BEFORE the "senses."

In any case, much of the "stimuli" around are actually "subliminal" - we do NOT sense these at all.

And there is NEVER any "order" in the stimuli - only in what we "perceive."

Indeed - for a "decent sensory order" we need to "manipulate sensory inputs" - by switching on some good "music for the ears" - by "goin' where the weather suits your clothes" and the skin gets a-feelin' good - by looking at pleasant scenery, gardens, paintings and other objets d'art - and with some good stuff for the HEAD, too! Like:

Some Good Holy Smoke to INHALE Very Deeply - and never let out!
Some Good White Powder to SNORT!
Some Good Brew to QUAFF - for Thirst is a Dangerous Thing!

Otherwise - without ALL these:

FUCKIN' SENSORY DISODER!

As far as The Science of Economics is concerned - based on Epistemological Foundations Rooted in the Logical Categories of All Trading Human Minds - the FACT that this is indeed "scientific" WITHOUT being anything like Physics - was pointed out by MISES in the following words:

It is contradictory to expect that logic could be of any service in demonstrating the correctness or validity of the fundamental logical principles.

The METHOD of "discovering" these TRUTHS is to "look within one's own mind" - to "meditate" or "introspect" - and then, to "look out from within the consciousness."

The Logical Categories are ALL Inside YOUR HEAD - and once they become OBVIOUS to YOU - no other "proof" or "validation" is required by YOU - for you have had an "A-Ha Experience" that has taught you MUCH!

Having said this - allow me now to demonstrate how PROPERTY is a Fundamental Logical Category of the Trading Human Mind:

Now, when animals such as dogs or cats, and even human babies, make NOISES - these always express EMOTIONS - and NOT MENTAL CONCEPTS - nor any MATERIAL OBJECTS.

Humans - even li'l kids - all possess LANGUAGE - and all spoken languages contain "possessive pronouns" - which indicate that POSSESSION - which is a MENTAL CONCEPT - is nothing but yet another Logical Category of the Trading Human Mind.

This is How & Why TRADE Arose - and thereby begat CIVILISATION.

I have explained the process in all posts under the label "Africa" on the right-hand bar - but this formal explanation struck me when I PERCEIVED the above TRUTH in the barking of dogs, the wailing of cats, and a crying baby the other day.

Thus - all the SHEEPLE know - and have known for many, many MILLENNIA - the difference between "mine" and "thine" - or even "not mine" - till these New Ideas "Whose Time Had Come" came to Western Europe in the 1850s.

HIGH TIME - to THROW them OUT - WORLDWIDE!

Let me now give this Science a "practical application" – for while Manas' Sunday HT column on the two poor fishermen killed by Italian Marines is HILARIOUS as usual – the ECONOMICS of the matter were PERCEIVED by me after reading it – when a COAST GUARD HELICOPTER flew over!

Thus – without This The State and its "legal tender funny money" – without its FUDGET – and with Open Trade Across The Open Sea – our fishermen would have CAPITAL to work on Modern Fishing Vessels on the High Seas – with GUNS of their own.

Apart from that – Able Bodied Seamen would have so many more Opportunities for Gainful Employment on the High Seas – than this.

PUBLIC INSECURITY – thou art The State – because of Phony Economics.

To conclude: An opinion I have been subjected to for long - concerning how very UNPREDICTABLE I myself am - led to this post.

Well, I most certainly do NOT "plan" all my affairs 5 years ahead - does ANYONE?

And I most certainly DO NOT PRETEND to do so, either.

And if "I" have SUDDENLY decided to head for COLOMBIA - because of whatever reasons to do with My Addictions - and, incidentally, both cocaine as well as cannabliss have been decriminalised in Colombia! - methinks YOU ALL will THINK that "I" know How to ACT!
