I always have her link her stuff and i always have her cut a large amount. I make sure that when it's time to by a pattern for myself that its not one that she has. This enables me to spread my market out further, invest into more ore to prospect, and make more gold. After a while of doing this without ever tipping, i really started to feel like i was taking advantage of someones kindness. She has made me so much gold that i wouldn't have had until i could get the cuts myself.

A few days ago i had her cut roughly 40 gems and decided that my taking and taking was enough. So while she was standing there cutting these gems i ran to the auction house, and bought a Chopper. If characters in game could pass out from excitement, her's definatly would have.

why...? Because WoW isn't just about having gold. Because i now see that sharing wealth is a great feeling, especially when it can turn someones crappy day into a great one.

I didnt lose any gold.... how? because everytime i ask her to cut some gems for me she will remember that i spent 15,000 gold on her as a gift, and i garuntee that by the end of Cata she will have easily paid for that chopper.

So instead of tipping your friends with a little bit of gold when they help you make gold, tip them a chopper or a rare pet if you think they will stick around long enough to make it back. The most important thing about using your friends to make gold is, don't use them to make items to sell that they also sell.
Each day i can normally dedicate 3 hours give or take to making gold and most days i make around 10k.

To start the easy gold making process you first need to access what you have in your arsenal. I've recently posted a few guides that breaks the professions down into exactly what you have to do. After you have determined what you have to work with you should make a list or mental note of what you are going to make and sell every day. Making a physical list would be better because you can then list out the materials you need all together. Doing this will enable you to buy all on one toon and send the mats off to whichever is crafting the items. If you dont have a lot of time try to stick to things that dont require barking like mysterious fortune cards. You are going to want to focus on hot items that arent too infested with undercutters.

Once you develope a routine you can add on to it to fit your time schedule.

My Routine:

When i know i will be able to go through the full round i start out with smallest to biggest.

Toon 1: This is my blacksmith, i go through and check prices of all the bloodied pyrium pieces, if price to craft is cheaper then price to sell then i craft them up and post for 12 hours. I also buy all the materials needed to make Ebonsteel Belt Buckles and create enough to where i wont have to craft for a few days. I post these, make sure im stocked on cheap mats, and then log to Toon 2.

Toon 2: This is my Alchemist, i first make sure i have done my daily Living Elements Transmute to sell off the Volatile Airs. I then check the cost to transmute Inferno Rubys. If i would make a decent profit i transmute and sell the raws.

Toon 3: this is my Tailor/Enchanter. I first buy up all the netherweave cloth under 10g and go afk while im creating bags, when i come back with a drink i post what i've made. Also i check prices on Infinite Dust, Greater Cosmic Essence, Greater Celestial Essence, and Hypnotic Dust. If they are in the range i like to sell at, i post whatever i have in my bags or what i see fit. I also make one of those mental notes about my stock of those four so i can start the relenish process during toon 4.

Toon 4: This is my Scribe/JC. This is by far the toon i spend the most time on so i do him last. The reason for this is so toon 1-3's items have a chance to sell while im on toon 4. I start out looting my mailbox of any glyphs or gems that have expired and list them on the Auction House, while im at the auction house i search for herbs that fall within my range of buying so i can mill them. If i have purchased anything I collect them from the mailbox and mill them while i have APM's cancel feature running.

By the time it i finish milling i have finished cancelling so i /ghostwolf run to the mailbox and grab the cancelled glyphs. While i am reposting them i am creating inks with the pigment from milling. Once milling, cancelling, and posting is checked off i use the summary feature to tell me what glyphs i need to craft and get posted on the AH. I set up my craft que and make the glyphs needed, if i have run out of any inks or parchment needed i get mageshadow to port me to Dalaran so i can trade in blackfallow inks and buy parchment. After i have finished crafting i post in the Dal Auction House. Then post whatever Inferno Ink i have from milling.

Now i move on to JC, i take a quick hearth back to SW to do the JC daily and buy a pattern if i can. I re-stock the AH with the cuts i can make and also post any uncommon gem that happens to be the daily. Then i check Elementium Ore and Obsidium Ore prices to determine wether i should prospect.
If i prospect this is what i do with the gems:

Jasper: Create rings to DE
Alicite: Create necks to DE or sell cuts to vendor
Zephyrite: Save for when the JC daily requires them to sell on AH
Nightstone: Sell on AH or save until JC daily requires them to sell on AH
Carnelian: My Enchanter isn't high enough level to DE fist weapons so i save them until that day comes.
Hessonite: Normally sell on AH unless prices are low, if so i create Bands to DE.
Rare Gems: Save to Cut or Sell raw if i have a large stock.

Also, depending on meta prices, i will use gems to transmute into metas if it is cheaper to craft then it is to sell.

If my enchanter was low on infinite dust i create wrath rings/necks to DE. I setup my APM automail so i can go afk for a while.

Rinse and Repeat: At this point i go through the rotation again reposting anything that has sold. This time when i stop on my alchemist i transmute meta gems to cut or sell. Then onto my Enchanter to DE everything i have made. Finally when i reach my Scribe/JC i post Mysterious Fortune Cards while i have time to bark.

Finding a routine is key because you can select which parts of the routine to start at in different situations. If you dont have time to complete everything, do the toon that would net the most gold or the one you can multitask with. For example my Scribe/JC. Also you should always leave time to buy materials so you dont have to worry about starting with nothing the next time you are able to go through your rotation. Just like in raids, you always want the best rotation, for maximum DPS. For making gold you want the best rotation, for maximum GPS. (gold per second lol).

Enchanting Gold Guide: Disenchanting

This one was tough to write about as a solo profession because most items in Cata aren't posted for very cheap yet. Also if you haven't noticed Auctioneer hasn't released a version that supports searching for items that require levels higher than 450. You are able to download a beta version manually at http://auctioneeraddon.com/dl/#preview.

If you arent going to use auctioneer to find items to disenchant you can do the old fashion search. The fastest way to look for highers items is looking for the JC rings/necklaces. Many people craft these to level their JC but have no use for them afterward. Instead of vendoring them they try to squeeze out a little gold on the auction house. When Cata rings are made they gain random stats and name, but they still have the same disenchant percentages. For example Jasper Ring of Awesomeness and Jasper Ring of Suckiness are both 1-3 Hypnotic Dust and 1-3 Lesser Celestial Essence. Note: these aren't real ring names.

When searching for items to disenchant be sure to look up what they disenchant into here us.battle.net/wow/en/item. Just type in the item you are disenchanting. Some items may cost 40g on the auctionhouse but disenchant into 70g worth of mats.

Jewelcrafting and Disenchanting:

With Cataclysm came the new disenchantable rings/necks, but very different from the ones in wrath. Here's the break down of the 4 jewelcrafter crafted items that you may make gold on.
Comments:
jaspers on my server normally average 8g each (you could just buy, cut, and sell to vendor for 1g profit). Jaspers are normally worth making into rings to disenchant, i have never lost gold investing into this.

Alicite are also around 8-9g on my server but it requires 2 to make the pendant which has the same disenchanting stats as jasper rings. When i tried making these i broke even. Most of the time its better just to cut them and vendor the cuts unless dust and essences are running ver high on your server.

Hessonite bands rely a little on luck and a lot on server prices. you only have the oppurtunity to get 1 extra hypnotic dust or 1extra lesser celestial then the jasper rings so your threshold for buying hessonites to make bands can be expressed in this equation. (1/2 x price of hypnotic dust) + price of Jasper.

Carnelian Spikes are also a server price deal. you'll want to find your minium and maxium profit to determine if it's something you will want to jump into. My Server Example: Hypnotic Dust = 9g per // Greater Celestial Essence = 40g per. So min/max for hypnotic dust = 18g - 45g. Min/max for greater celestial essence = 80g-120g. That makes my overall range 18g - 120g. It can be pretty hard to decide if its worth it but i have found that i get essences more often the dust meaning that anything under my min price for greaer celestial essence was worth the investment.

PS: im still looking for help on creating a drop down menu for the blog tabs so i can add these guides in.

Blacksmithing Gold Guide

If you have blacksmithing you probably spent a lot of time or gold to max it out and now we are going to make it worth it.

Before you start you need to go to Twilight Highlands and find the vendor Brundall Chiselgut. He sells all of the patterns you will need to make gold. If you dont have the gold to invest in getting all of them start off with Ebonsteel Belt Buckle. The buckles get make me about 200 gold every 10-15 minutes on heavy raid nights. The next ones you should invest into are the Bloodied Pryrium pieces. The bracers and gloves tend to sell the best. After bloodied invest into Ornate (these are pally healer only so there isnt as high demand).

Shopping List:

Pyrite Ore or Pyrium Bar [whichever is cheaper ( 2 ore = 1 bar)]
Elementium Ore or Bar [whichever is cheaper ( 2 ore = 1 bar)]
Volatile Earth (used for belt buckles)
Volatile Fire (used for bloodied pieces)
Volatile Water (used for ornate pieces)

if you are able to find these cheap be sure to buy them up, especially pyrite and fire because belt buckles sell very fast.... the new mysterious fortune card? No.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ebonsteel Belt Buckles:
to sell these to their max potential you should find out the prime raiding times on your server and post roughly an hour before they start and keep them stocked up till when raids normally end. If you are a raider that also raids during these times you would be pretty safe to post 5+ to ensure that they last till you can get back to the AH after the raid. Barking in trade seems to help a little, raiders who are flustered getting ready for their raid may have forgotten about their ungemmed belt. Dont get me wrong... these buckles sell at all times. Golden Rule: Do your math before buying materials... you dont want to be crafting at a loss.
Bloodied Pyrium Pieces:
If you like quick sales then posting gear is not something you will want to get into. Sometimes it sells, sometimes it doesn't. You may run into a lot of expired auctions before you find the light. When posting gear like this you will most definatly want to post for 12 hours. If you get undercut a few times, the demand isnt high enough to bring you back to the cheapest auction. you would benefit more by relisting after it expires then having to cancel a 48 hour auction and suffer the post fee. also make sure that you are posting in the profit zone. sometimes levelers will come along and undercut a ton just to get it sold.. make sure not to undercut these people.
The purpose of these guides is to only use the specific profession to make gold. So it is much easier to relate to for the readers who dont have every profession available.
Jewlcrafting:
Making gold with this profession is very easy when utilized with others but you can still make profit with these:
Prospecting: Before you do this you will want to check the prices of all raw Cata gems and the price of Elementium Ore and Obsidium Ore. You can find the average of all the uncommon gems by adding their prices together and dividing by 6. Now mutiply the average by 4 to find your minimum. By this is mean roughly the lowest amount you will recieve from prospecting because you will always get at least 4 gems per stack of ore. When buying ore be sure to consider that you normally recieve about 6 gems from a stack.
If any uncommon cata gem sells for around 9 gold. Be sure to cut them youself and just vendor them!
Cutting: Assuming you have SW JC Tokens from doing the dailys you will need to buy some cuts. If you are just starting out with new cuts, I suggest investing into Inferno Ruby and Ocean Sapphire cuts. If you only have the tokens to buy a few cuts. Check the AH to see which of the 2 sell the best. You will want to compare prices of the uncuts to the cuts. For example if Ocean Sapphire raw sells for 20g and cuts sell for 100g youll make a rough 80g profit. If Ruby raw sells for 100g each and the cuts are 140g each you'll make only a 40g profit. Even though Inferno Ruby cuts sell at a higher price you wont be making as much as Ocean Sapphire cuts.
After you have bought your first cut and shopping for your second, be sure not to buy one using the same Rare gem. This easily diversifys the markets you are in and if you are buying the Rares to cut you wont run out of stock as easily.
I will make guides that involve the use of JC and other professions so stay tuned :)
PS if anyone has great knowledge on creating drop down tabs I would love some help so i can get my recent profession guides up there.
One Day As A Transmuter
I'm going to add a new section to my pages for all of the proffessions i easily make gold off of and here's my first.
Obtaining Transmute Spec: First off to really make this profitable you need to be sure you are transmute specced. To do this you need to fly to Netherstorm - Stormspire with 4 Primal Mights that you can purchase from the auction house and turn them in to Zarevhi. If you have already had an alchemy specialization you only need to find the person you trained it from and unlearn it. This costs about 150g. After that is done you then go and find Zarevhi, but you don't need the Primals if you paid the 150g.
Transmuting Gems: To start off the round I check all of the prices for all green level Cataclysm Gems. Making a mental note or paper... i check the blue level, like Inferno Ruby. If you want to minimize the risk you take when transmuting, be sure that even if you dont proc you will still make profit and when it does happen the procs are essientially free. This way you aren't relying on procs to save your butt and make you gold. Also be sure not to too many at once or the AH posting fee will easily put you in the negative from undercutters.
Meta Gems: Shadowspirit Diamond - These generally cost a lot to make but will net you profit. The more expensive they are to make = the higher they sell = more gold generated from one proc. When figuring mat cost remember that a transmute specced alch always recieves 2 gems here. So say mats cost 250g but gem only sells for 200g. You will still make minimum of 150g each use.
Daily Transmute CD: If you aren't using your Transmute CD or selling it then you aren't making as much profit as you could be.
Living Elements: I haven't had very much luck making profit from Truegold so i decided to do Living Elements. This turns 15 Volatile Life into roughly the same amount of another Volatile. If you haven't already found out the area you use the transmute in decides what it turns into.
Volatile Fire - Hyjal
Volatile Water - Vashj'ir
Volatile Earth - Deepholm
Volatile Air - Uldam
Random - Anywhere other then listed above (including Twilight Highlands)
So around midnight when most people have stayed up to get a transmute in is when you should hop a portal to the highest selling Volatile's area, transmute, and list them on the AH. Generally this is when prices are the highest and will net you the most profit.
Truegold: Like i said i havent had very much luck here when it comes to procs but if you can afford the investment it is well worth the time. If you proc you get an extra 1,000g or so.
Breakdown:
(these are all current prices on my server)
Inferno Ruby (10 Transmutes + 4 Procs) Cost in mats = 510g
14 @ 70g each = 980g
470g Profit!
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Ember Topaz (10 Transmutes + 5 Procs) Cost in Mats = 450g
15 @ 40g each = 600g

150g Profit!
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Shadowspirit Diamond (3 Transmutes + 1 Proc) Cost in Mats 585g
7 @ 189g each = 1,323g
738g Profit!
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Living Elements (1 Transmute = 16 Volatile Air) Cost in Mats = 97.5g
16 @ 33g each = 528g

430.5g Profit!
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Other transmutes were a bit more risky but you can always increase your profits by getting a JC to cut your gems into popular cuts.
In one day's routine i was able to pull in about 1,788g with one proffesion. If i were to have obtained these gems through prospecting it would have been even more profit but i simply bought off the auction house.
Question of the Post: As there are many proffesions, which guide would you like me to cover next? preferably a crafting one :)
Cold's Gold Carnival: My Favorite Farming Spot
Ya know there's Deepholm mining, theres tol barad croc skinning, and even Uldam delta herbing. But there was just something that i loved so much more. Cold and I seem to share the same love... oh Mary, why did you have to leave me.. erm i mean farming tradechat! Farming trade chat? You mean like buying cheap stuff right? No man, barking! You can tell from the many of Cold and myself's posts that we love to break loose of the shock collars and bark trade up a tree. You still don't know what Barking is? ARRFF ARRFF? No! Simply Advirtising. In my post No Wonder My Dog Likes Barking I explained how i was barking and the creative text i was using to sell out my Mysterious Fortune Cards. I later threw out to da public my addon-less way of Linking An Item In A Macro.  I am now working on a project of blowing someone out of the auction house using all of my posted techniques. I have tried to expand my newer passion of barking to the community and was succesful!
My favorite farming spot (Trade Chat) can only be accessed through being in a major city and you MUST have a keyboard.  Over time you adapt to the environment and learn the skill: Sarcasm.. this can be found in your spellbook. The barking technique mixes with the auction house because you want to be the lowest priced poster for whatever you are barking for. When you bark be sure to be creative and promote your product in a comedic way.
For Example: Could buying [Mysterious Fortune Card] really win you 5,000g for your mount insurance? do woodchucks chuck wood?... *Splash* HEY YOU DANG WOODCHUCKS.. quit chuckin my wood! *splash* heehehe..
using material already familar to the reader adds to the comedy.
There will come to a point when many people in trade argue that your cards are scams ect.. well dont worry! this is free advirtisement. Instead of building yourself a name as a spammer.. people arguing will do the spaming for you. You will notice that many cards sell during this time.
For a final hint on what cards could cost you to make check out my post About Milling.
Yesterday someone stubbled upon your market. Today it's not your market anymore.
 I once read that the auction house posters could be categorized into 4 types of sellers that each have unique qulities.
Random Seller: These players generally dont sit in the auction house much and have no respect for the market or its posters. They come only to sell an item just because they have it and don't care what the price is. You normally find these people posting 25% less then the next highest listing. They also dont have the industry to compete with you so no worries here. I also notice people developing into this sort of seller when trying to get out of a certain market.
How To Fight: Best thing to do is offer to buy their items at a cheaper price and then relist. If they refuse saying,"im lowest on the AH it'll sell," undercut them first.
The Monopolist: This guy likes to buy out a market and post it extremely high and will also buyout any undercuts to maintain the high price. Most of the time this takes a lot of gold to start out.
How To Fight: You can easily make profit from these guys because they want to buy out all the items you post in their market... if you dont stop posting, he will have to change his gameplan or wait it out.
The AH Camper: You know these people, they dedicate most of their time to watching their markets, always reposting the amount that's sold and will undercut you within a minute of your auction post.
How To Fight: Add their toon to your friends list and see where they are in the world, if in a major city, post one item and see what happens.. if you are undercut, wait till they log off. or you can become a Deep Undercutter mentioned below.
The Deep Undercutter: These people say its to benefit the buyers when really they are just trying to make others not want to post. They take a market and crumble the profit to make regular posters fall out of the market... its possible that they plan to raise it later or lower the price to then buy up the undercutters for cheap.
How To Fight: If you have the bank to compete (gold) you can attempt to buy them up cheap and relist higher. This strategy works quicker and better if they are offline. Essentially you are using the tactics of a Monopolist.
This post is an introduction to my next one which will be an expirement with a specific undercutter i have on my server and wether or not i can beat him while still making profit.
Question of the Post: When your browser first uploaded my page and you searched around, what was the most appealing feature on my site? or simply what do you like the most?
Milling: What You Don't Know Could Hurt You
 When you mill herbs you are most likely doing it to make inks, and with Cata herbs, you may be turning those inks into mysterious fortune cards to sell. Cold had a nice post about mysterious fortune cards and I would like to add an addition to his most recent post about them on How To Beat Undercutters. a few people on my server saw all the hype about my creative barks so they also decided to jump into the market. One player soon destroyed my market of 50g a card to 20g a card. He then walled the price with 7 pages of posts at 48 hours. He also continually posts on 4 different toons. I did some quick math.. with cinderbloom @ 100g a stack i can make cards for about 21g because you make 5 inks per stack. This was simply no good until the recent Darkmoon Faire hit.
I realized that burning embers and inferno ink started flying off of the shelves with all of the people finishing decks and making cards. On my server inferno ink easily sells for over 200g each and 87g per ember. After testing about 20 stacks of cinderbloom i also came to the conclusion that you are basically gaurunteed 1 burning embers per stack. Sometimes you get unlucky and get 0 but sometimes you get lucky and pull in amounts up to 6! It is possible to get 3 in one mill attempt.
With these new numbers i took the price of a stack - price of burning embers. This changed the ballgame because now i can buy a stack of cinderbloom at 13g a stack... now divide by 5 (inks). You can now make mysterious fortune cards for 3g each!
From here you make the decision, flip the cards youself or deal with the prick undercutters stealing your tatics. honestly im going to sieze my market back with the mightly force of 200,000g (which i just reached). If your competition hasnt realized this factor yet then you can get a huge jump on them that will send them to spiral down. The final tip is to check all these prices on your server before following through, all servers are different and what has helped me may not help you.
Question of the Post: I've been slightly adding this in to all of my posts but ill just make it official. The Question of the Post is... what is the highest you have sold a single mysterious fortune card for? You can leave your answer in the comments section below
I personally have only sold them as high as 67... just when you think you have a monopoly... dang undercutters..
Flaskers Digest: Flask and Flask Accessories
With raiding starting to pick up you may want to start stocking up on materials to make flasks. If you had read my last post, then you should already have been!
Investments: The following is a list of mats for the main flasks.
Stamina: Flask of Steelskin
6 Volatile Life
12 Twilight Jasmine
12 Cinderbloom
Spirit: Flask of Flowing Water
6 Volatile Life
12 Heartblossom
12 Stormvine
Intellect: Flask of the Draconic Mind
6 Volatile Life
12 Azshara's Veil
12Twilight Jasmine
Agility: Flask of the Winds
6 Volatile Life
12 Azshara's Veil
12 Whiptail
Strength: Flask of Titanic Strength
6 Volatile Life
12 Cinderbloom
12 Whiptail
...and of course every flask takes a Crystal Vial
Note: It doesnt seem like these flasks turn into x2 every time like in wrath so be aware, proc levels most likely have been cut in half, but the price will probably be double wrath's. Another thing to consider when making these is normal raid comp. In 10 mans its not a large factor but in 25s there will be a max of 4 tanks, around 7 healers, and a mix of dps. The ratio you should use will roughly be: tank-1 // healz-2 // three dps flasks-2. Flasks are currenlty going for 200-300 each, and yes, they are selling!
Raids are picking up and flasks are vital to success so find your servers peek raiding times (normally around 7 server) and be aware of when your faction wins tol barad. Another thing i did in wrath was supply guilds, i would make massive amounts of flasks and contact good raiding guilds if they needed to massively buy them, combining this with the information in my last post you will see that less and less materials will be on the auction house so hardcore guilds who dont have time to farm will a) need to buy the remainder of the rising herbs or b) buy your flasks that you made from your smart investing.
As i have posted in mostly all my articles i am looking for feedback on my posts, website, and am also looking to expand my blogroll. please leave any comments you have below :)
Hello Opportuntiy
With the holidays over and adults/kids returning to their normal routine I predict a huge change in the prices of mostly all crafting material. Blizzard created a critical intersection by releasing Cataclysm before the holidays and this will benefit you if you act fast. Over the holidays children were on break so they basically stayed up all night, woke up early, and farmed in Cataclysm. So for almost two weeks the prices for farmable mats have been relatively low. Like mostly all guilds on all servers, my guild has waited until the holidays were over to start raiding. When guilds start really raiding the mighty balls of pugs grow and more start to form. For any pug to have a shred of potential they will need higher enchants, higher gems, higher gear, and tons of flasks.
Breakdown:
To start it out, all of the Christmas vacation kids are going back to school so less and less mats will show up on the auction house. Then the raiders/puggers intersect that, creating a demand that is much greater than the supply. To meet market equilibrium the price has to rise.
Action:
It only makes sense that you should invest in low cost materials before the small stockpiles from the holidays dry up. The main materials I am going to focus on are for flasks, enchants, and belt buckles. you may have noticed that really none of these items have been selling and that's because there was very little need. Most players that have a bit of gold dont want to blow it on a belt buckle just to add one gem, for their heroics... but once the raiding kicks in every bit helps and they will realize that after their first 20 wipes. Most guilds also aren't investing much into flasks, or so i've seen, so anyone not wanting to look like a fool in their guild raid will be buying flasks.
Like i said here are the mats for the belt buckles that i expect to go up in price along with its mats.
Ebonsteel Belt Buckle:
4 Volatile Earth
4 Elementium Bar (8 Elementium Ore)
4 Pyrium Bar (8 Pyrite Ore)
Conclusion:
I would invest in abnormally cheap herbs of all kinds, Cataclysm enchanting mats, and the mats listed above for belt buckles. With the rise in price for herbs you can expect all items relating to the milling of them to rise as well... mysterious fortune card maybe...
Call To Opinions!
just recently i redesigned my site and i would like to get some feedback on it. I eventually learned patience and was eager to use the knowledge i had gainedi n such a short amount of time.
Going into Cata i only had the items listed in my post Cataclysmic Stockpile and honestly it wasnt as much as i wanted. Well so far I have only gone through 2 bank tabs at the most and i've gained a combined total for my toons 110k in Cataclysm.
Over the duration of cata i have posted almost every way i've made gold
Mysterious Fortune Cards: My absolute favorite way to make gold. I love getting spammed with sold auctions after i use my barks. Some techniques i used to make gold in this area were massively buying cheap herbs to mill and barking a ton as posted in No Wonder My Dog Likes Barking. The most important thing i did in this market was raising the price. I kept the price relatively high around 50g each by planning the buyout of the entire market, i would wait until the majority would expire and i would then buy out the rest of the 48 hour posters and relist at 50-60g. This was very late at night when no other crafters were on, unsuring that i owned the market all night. I noticed that this was prime time for me because all of the fun players were on. I recieved tons of lols on my barks and thats what made this fun.
Glyphs: these were just the normal postings while i focused on cards, i stocked enough ink to push me for a long while and these would normally add a few K to my total daily profits.
Ore: I did some farming when i was bored staring at the AH screen and those would bring in about 180 a stack. I found some key areas to focus on and that really boosted daily profits.
Orbs: I didnt actually sell and epic crafted gear but i did manage to sell all of the orbs i got for 3k each. The customer would give me his mats, i would craft, and he would pay for how many orbs used, simple.
Truegold: The first weekend of Cata i was able to get some Truegold for 500g each! these relisted at 1k. My initial investment was to make epic pieces out of them, but that never happened.
Enchanting Mats: As abyss crystals got cheaper i got more stacks of them :) these easily turned profit via abyssal shatter because infinite dust and greater cosmic essence increased greatly in price.
Recently i have been buying up jaspers at 10g a piece and crafting the jasper rings out of them. the jasper rings DE to 1-3 Hypnotic Dust or 1-3 Lesser Celestial Essence. whenever i would recieve a 1 of soemthing it was really pushing it on profit but more time then not i recieved 2-3 of w/e bringing in more gold.
Stupidity in Netherweave: I sold off all of my bags extremely fast at around 9g each and i am scraping the bottom for cloth. I made the profit i wanted but there have been times when bags were up to 20g and i couldnt capitalize...so be it.
Prospecting: this barely makes me my 2 copper now because of low gem prices but early on this technique was damn good. I was only able to prospect obsidium ore but it was still well worth it. the strategy i used here was buy a stack, prospect it and calculate how much i would make if it all sold. i would then subtract that from what i spent on the stack. If i recieved a negative number, that was the profit. I was very conservative here, only prospecting a few stacks at a time.
Farming: I tried a few farming spots for cloth and volatiles but stuff like that just isnt for me, i always get flustered feeling like im racing a cloak. but if you dont get that feeling your wasting time, and time is money friend.
Setting Goals: I set a constant goal of making 10k every day. If i ever failed to meet that goal i would set a higher one. I have a weekend goal, a weekday goal, and my vacation goal to meet 200k. My vacation ends Wednesday and i am 25k away.
Linking An Item In A Macro
Since I just posted about some creatve barks in trade chat you may be looking around for a way to macro them. If you have already tried yourself you probably failed because you cant shift-click an item into the macro window. I eventually got tired of typing out every post myself so i began searching for way to link an item into a macro. After a few misleading titles and failed attemptes i came across the correct way.
you can easily ctrl c -> ctrl v this into any chat frame in wow:
/run CreateMacro("Test", 6,"[Item Link]", 1,0)
after thats typed out or pasted into your chat you will need to replace [Item Link] with the item you want to link in the macro. If you want mutliple links in the macro then have both inside the ""
the next step is to go into your macros under character specific and re title / re icon your macro.
you will find that the only text in the macro is/are the link(s). To make this trade ready all you must do is have /2(space) in front and then insert the text you want around the linked item
Be sure not to delete the linked item or you will have to start again.
No Wonder My Dog Likes Barking
You've seen a thousand posts about making money with Mysterious Fortune Cards, well this is just another one... There is a slight slump in the price of mats so get leveling! I composed a list of the professions i use and what level you need to get them to to add some extra profit everyday.
Inscription: There were a few key points here. The easiest level being 450, at 450 you can learn to create Mysterious Fortune Card. If you havent lready read thousands of posts about these they basically spread their wings and fly of the AH before you finish posting them. Its a profit margin of about 20+ gold each card.
To go along with the Mysterious Fortune Cards, you may want to level up to 475 where you can create Inferno Ink. If you obtain blackfallow ink from milling then you'll have a lot of Burning Embers. They dont sell well as pigment but the inks do. This basically increases your profit margin on cards because you are buying stacks of herbs for cheaper.
Jewlcrafting: The main profits from JC at the moment are selling raw gems from prospecting. You can easily start at level 450 and prospect Obsidium Ore and the next step would be 475 to prospect Elementium. If you want to guarantee profit look at stack prices and gem prices, if the lowest cost for a gem is above 25% of a stack of ore then you will net proft. (Stack of ore / 4) < Price of raw gem  = profit
Alchemy: If you've read over trade a few times you ould probably think that you need to get into truegold as soon as possible! but that's not quite the case. I found that if i were to buy the mats for transmuting i would make more profit by using Transmute: Living Elements which is only level 485. Leveling passed is great but this is where you will generate your extra profit.
Tailoring: Honestly i havent found anything good here other then epic patterns but you must be 525 and have unlocked them. Enchants are ok but havent been worth the cost of leveling. I'm open to all suggestions here.
Blacksmithing: The first hit here was Elementium Rod learned at level 475. These soon fell below the cost of mats to make them so i really only snagged a few hundred gold here. The next point is where you get the starter PvP gear, then of course epics.
Leatherworking: Roughly the same as tailoring, make some enchants and test them out. Not an explosive profit maker.
Enchanting: There also arent very many solid gold making enchants either because the price of mats is inflated right now and there arent very many people raiding because pugs arent common yet. Expect the mat cost to lower and enchant price to rise when more people have been opened up to content.
Ill keep updates posted on each profession because i soon expectgreat things to come from the gear crafters.
A Hero's Story (3)
I left off my last post about my journey through WoW with the joining of <The Exiles>. I few days in to the exiles i was giving the chance to tank their 25 man and become a permanent tank for one of their 10s. My performance must have sparked their interests because i soon became the OT for their most progressed 10 man, working in heroics.
Note: This is a continuation of my introduction, i wanted to show all of my readers the raider side of me and how i'm able to sustain my raiding passion with my Gold making tactics. My story is full of WoW drama and i am open to any suggestions about the structure. Please enjoy my WoW Life and how i became one of the top raiders on my server.
The story with this group is decently long. Before i was there there were two main 10 man groups. One was run by the Guild leader and one was just hanging by a thread. The Guild leader's group was stuck on regular sindragosa and the crappy group was near festergut (lol). The resto druid in the crappy group brought her boyfriend to terokkar to lead the group. He eventually lead the group through all of the regular bosses including sindragosa. The guild leader's group was still stuck on sindragosa as the other group passed them in progession.. then downed the LK... then downed 5 heroic bosses. Can you imagine how ticked off you would be if you were the leader of the top group in your guild then to have some server transferred scrub lead a group and pass your progression? Protsauce, the heroic group leader, was outcast, treated like dirt. The jealousy of the "main" group was so high that any achievement earned by Prot's group during a raid night silenced guild chat.
This is where i came in. My first raid there was with the guild leader's group... nothing special. My second raid week i hoped on the Prot train and killed some heroic bosses. I progressed with this group to eventually kill the Lich King and 7 heroic bosses. By the time i had full 264 we were bored will our horrible 25 team and it's horrible leaders. So the 10 of us broke apart and formed a new guild, a better guild, <Ascendant>.
Here i became an officer and we organized a great 25 man that made progress over <The Exiles> our first raid. At this point in time, i was the #1 Death Knight Tank on server. I had the most progression, the highest gearscore at 6092, and by far the most skill. I was still rolling as a Frost Tank, one of the only ones left in existence. everything was perfect until the day i logged on to find that Protsauce had switched to horde.
This crippled our guild... our guild leader server transferred shortly after and left myself and Rakshaa as GM's. I rose to this task, i re-did the website, the guild rules, the guild ranks, the guild bank, and our future goals. Along with guild ranks we assigned new officers and started raiding again from scratch. I was the leader, i had all the expirience.
My face hit a brick wall once again. Rakshaa's wife, who we appointed an officer, slowly destroyed my guild. I didn't know it at the time but she was the one who caused Protsauce to leave. She was a crazy stalker who played all day and lived to start drama. Every officer complained about her but since her husband was the GM with the power nothing was done. We had vent arguements and eventually led to her leaving the guild.
We were all relieved until she came into one of our vent meetings to cuss us all out. I had that feelin that somethign bad would happen that night. When i logged on the next day she was back in the guild at officer status and i had been demoted. I no longer could talk in /o or control anything. The minute i complained in guild chat... she kicked me. But she recieved her own slap in the face when over 20 people left after that.
I started my next journey with <Archives>. they were more of a trollish raiding guild but they made progress.
At this point in time my progression was 7/12 H ICC10 and 10/12 Reg ICC25. I had been in 4 different guilds (Ascendant counting as 2). and all had crumbled after my leave. So far i had a path of destructio nipping at my heels, and i couldn't stop it.
10k One Day
i have never been a huge gold maker, i only reached my 150k mark by simply saving my gold and nomally focusing on the "hot" proffesion. i had noticed that this last saturday my gold making was starting to raise so i set a goal for myself... Make 10k on Sunday. I achieved this victory and then some by spreading my markets out. I would normally go about my normal routine by posting some glyphs, some bags, and some ore but i knew there was more i could do. and here's what i did:
Glyphs: I did my normal routine of posting every glyph that was priced above 20g. This is just a steady market normally making about 2-3k a day.
Mysterious Fortune Cards: I jumped into this market late Saturday night when i realized that i only have to be 450 Inscription to learn it. I made some decent sales Saturday night but come Sunday i was prepared. I barked like a dog all day and raked in about about 4.5 - 5k. I was lucky enough to find a gambling addict to blow all his gold on me. He broke about even recieving the highest card i have personally seen (1k).
Netherweave Bags: I ran out of cloth and bolts during this venture andit seems that everyone else did as well because prices now are 25g each bag. But i did bring in about 500g on selling bags.
Enchanting Mats: I DEd some of the rings and necklaces that i made with green wrath gems and sold off all the mats. Infinite Dust and Greater Cosmic Essences were a no show on sunday except for my posts. I made around 1.5k here.
Prospecting Ore: the night before i had bought out all of the obsidium ore for under 70g a stack (normally 100g) and prospected it all in the morning. The best part about this was that one nightstone would pay for the entire stack and left everything else as pure profit. I also tried my luck with prospecting Adamantite ore. The powder sold decently and the gems were gone within the hour. I made about 2-3k here.
Obsidium Ore: When i was away from the game but at the computer i camped a section in Uldam that spawns four nodes at a time. I got about 10 stacks and sold them all for 150 gold. Combining that with the sales from the Volatiles i made about 1.75k.Those were the main items i sold, there were a few misc. items such as eggs and old cloth, plus some of the cata cloth. I was surprised to find that a few old enchanting scrolls sold as well.
The importance of this post wasnt to show you what to sell, when to sell, or how much to sell, it was explain one weekend day that i spent hardcore AH farming and what it led to. When i say "what it led to" i dont mean making over 10k in one day... i mean setting a goal, striving for it, and shattering it. Every day this week i have made made 3-6k more then my average and i blame it all on that Sunday. I gained confidence, knowledge, and momentum that substantially raised my daily gold average and i suggest that you all try the same.
For beginners hit every market as hard as you can for 5 hours during one day and see what you produce. Don't count the quick hitters in your results such as epic pieces or rare patterns. You want to first establish the daily routine that you can rely on.
Crafting Gold: Chaos Orb Edition
If you’re a maxed crafter or plan on becoming a maxed crafter then you will defiantly want to start running heroic dungeons to acquire Chaos Orb from the last boss. These orbs are used to make all epic crafted gear and some higher level blues. Chaos orbs will be a large factor in the price to sell these epics because if someone wants an epic piece crafted they can’t just give the crafter the mats and receive the item; they have to hope that they can find a crafter who actually has an orb.
I’m using my maxed Blacksmithing as an example below
Price Factors:
Skill Level: At this point in time there aren’t many players who have maxed BS because of how much initial investment it is.
Player Level: Someone could easily take their alt that has a crafting profession and max him (you only have to be 75). But to even gain the ability to buy the pattern they have to have unlocked the first area of the twilight highlands which would make them around level 84.
Pattern: If you take that small pool of people who have maxed their BS and quested through the first area of the Twilight Highlands you can then narrow It down even more because not all of them have the particular epic pattern as it costs 2 stacks of elementium ore (20 elementium bars). On my server elementium ore goes for 180g a stack so the cost of the pattern would be 360g.
Orb: Now you have your handful of players who have maxed BS and also own the specific pattern. The final factor is that that player has to have a chaos orb which is acquired from the last boss in heroic difficulty aanndd they also have to win the roll against 4 other people who have no idea what it is but they want it. Note: Some epic pieces cost more than one chaos orb
Overall Requirements: Level 85, Maxed Blacksmithing, Unlocked Twilight Highlands, Acquired the pattern, completed a Heroic, Won required amount of chaos orb(s).
All of these things have an effect on the price of the specific crafted item. For someone to get a crafted epic they have to find someone with all of the above requires, so we are looking at a very small few. If you happen to be one of these few or plan on being one of these few, there will be a lot of gold to be made. The mats to make the epic healing/shaman shield cost me about 5.5k gold and I project that I can sell it for up to 30k gold maybe even more.
Final Suggestions: If you are going to make an epic piece I suggest starting out advertising in trade before you have made it. If you get a bite you can always go buy the mats in the AH, craft the piece, and complete the transaction. Be sure to add up the cost of the mats before selling, just so you know where to set your price.
Non-Crafters and Orbs:
For all of the non-crafters who run heroics, if you aren’t running with any crafter friends you should go ahead and need on the item because there is always the chance that Blizzard will change it to the structure like that of the Frozen Orb. If chaos orb is ever tradable the initial price will be high because people can now purchase all of the mats required to make the piece instead of trying to find a crafter who has an orb.
The Long Run
Today was the first day of arena season! This also meant that rated battlegrounds have come available. If you havent already been selling the crafted PvP sets WTF aRe YoU dOiNg? i know that a main thing that is stopping people from leveling their blacksmithing, tailoring, or leatherworking are the cost of the mats. Now let me tell you how i softened the blow.
So i was really afraid to invest all of this gold into my blacksmithing on Xero because i was pretty sure that he prices would drop soon enough and i would just catch up. I alos knew that arena season was starting today and that many players were going to buy the full starter sets and get a huge jump on rating/bgs so i broke down and leveled my BS. /cry it cost over 100g a level.. average.
I was feeling a little drained about spending a large portion of savings until i remembered that all this junk gear that will never sell could be DEd. This greatly softened the blow by about 40g a level. I am so glad that i leveled BS to the starter PvP sets because now i cant keep these babies in stock. They have all sold for over 3k each and in the first few hours of posting i have almost broken even.
Its definatly not too late for you to level your crafting profession up and net a decent profit, plus you will be one of the first to have access to newer patterns because i'm sure spending gold is what has stopped so many people from attempting to level.
Let me know how your crafting profession has been with the first day of real PvP in the comments section below.
Infinite Profit
The need for wrath mats has finally come. What has happened was this: when Cataclysm hit there were still many players with WotLK mats and they frantically tried to sell them. Well when those stock piles ran dry there are still people that need to level their professions. the stock running dry created a lower supply and a higher demand. Which, in turn, raises the price.
I just noticed the spike in price for infinite dust and greater cosmic essence, lucky for me, i have a large supply of rings/necklaces to DE. Over a few days the normally price (25-30g) a stack has increased to amounts around 90g a stack! I have been selling out on every stack i post. I highly recommend looking out for cheap wrath gems/eternal earth and cheap abyss crystals.
To give you a little more understanding on how well these babies are doing... i have 1 1/2 guid bank tabs full of them... all gone in 2 days.
Every day I expirement with the uncut gem market/prospecting, doing math on my calculator and taking notes. I normally dont do more then 3 stacks of ore because i'm not a huge risk taker, especially in a market that is so risky. I say this market is risky because nobody can really tell when it is going to even out and/or at what price. One day a gem is selling for 120g then the next day its down to 30g wtf? The newer markets can jump a lot early on depending on how many people go out and farm at a specific time.
Enough rambling... as i was saying i have been doing small expirements with the gem market. I buy up a few stacks of Obsidium Ore (because my JC is level 71 and cant go higher then 450 atm) then simply prospect them. I dont know if it's this way with other players but i recieve 2 gems more often then i recieve only one... this turns out to be insane profit for me because i can normally make about 1k gold off of only 2 stacks of ore. Now let me show you a few numbers to crunch
My last test:
2x20 Obsidium Ore // Cost: 232g
Prospect Results:
x2 Nightstone // Current AH Price: 100g each
x2 Jasper // Current AH Price: 75g each
x2Carnelian // Current AH Price: 40g each
x2 Hassonite // Current AH Price: 69g each
x3 Alicite // Current AH Price: 24g each blah!
x2 Zephyrite // Current AH Price: 34g each
x1 Ember Topaz // Current AH Price: 45g each also blah!
Earnings:
    (753g worth of uncut gems)
- (232g of investment)
______________________
     521g (not counting AH cut)
so in a few minutes i turned 250g into roughly 750g, and not having to worry about being stuck with over-priced uncut gems because almost all of my posts sold within the hour. I didnt post the Ember Topaz or the alicite because i knew that the price would rise again. With the few days ive spent watching this market i have learned that there can be a 100g jump in price once a leveling JC comes along.
This coming weekend will be the first weekend of Cataclysm so be prepared to see a lot of items being posted on the auction house for cheap (the more posters, the further the price goes down). Most of the players you are going to be dealing with will be younger then most playing now, this can potentially mean they want to sell all there stuff fast! and dont understand the concept of "holding." I recommend /who the person posting and whispering them if they are willing to sell any cheaper. Don't be afraid to invest your money into cheap cheap mats because they will most likely go back up during the week day for the large remainder of players maxing their professions. Please leave comments or send over an email on how you are making money this expansion, also for any bloggers out there im looking to expand my blog role. Let me know if you are interested in exchanging.
Cataclysm, Practically Mining Gold!
You would think the most conventional way to mine in Cata would simply be to find a route, stick with it, and mine... well depending on how packed your server is you can make a pretty penny mining mobs. YES I SAID MOBS! Once you make your way to Deepholm there are mobs by the horde ship crash site just south of the starting spot, that you can easily mine. Just like skinning, people have to fully loot the mob. These earth elementals are called Deepstone Elemental and drop any combo of 43S grey, 1-2 Obsidium Ore, and 1-2 Volatile Earth when you mine them. If you happen to be there when a ton of people are questing that area you can rake in a ton of ore or volatiles which sell very well in the AH (depending on server). If your luck is good and the place is packed expect to make a lot of gold here. Luck has a large factor as you normally come up with the greys, but its well worth the look.
