Our Wedding Day

Finally I'm able to share our wedding day! There have been so many memories, moments, people and details that went into our big day that I could have gone on forever, but here is a selection that help show an overview of the day.

We had a lot of personal touches made possible by amazing people who we know and love. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you. We got ready at our family homes and were spoilt with lovely food and lots of love. Andy's Mum and Step-Dad, Robin and Phill, welcomed us to their house when the weather turned into full lightening storm, and was . My Mum, Jacqui made the Infinity bridesmaid dresses and helped turn all my thoughts into reality. My mother's friend Norman worked an intricate flat piece of beading, into a masterpiece of a wedding dress. My Dad, Ian arranged for the beautiful Alvis vintage cars, and the wonderful owners (and drivers) were great sports running us around while they could hardly see through their windscreen wipers. My sister-in-law Lucy created all the stationary and many signs that were all around the venue. And finally my now husband made the 'Andy & Caro' light up sign for me which I will love forever (just like him)

I've just come back from an incredible honeymoon in Europe, and we have our first sneak peak of the wedding from our amazing photographer, Lydia (from Kate Robinson Photography). We had an amazing time, even though there was a full lightening storm through a good part of the day.

Wedding Streamers

First off, I have to apologise for being MIA. I've been a bit hectic and took an unexpected break. But I'm back, and ready to share what's been happening.

As you can imagine, wedding planning has been up and down, but we are all on the up now with only 3 WEEKS TO GO!

Today I want to share my DIY day, where lots of lovely ladies (and one special man) helped make pretty streamer flags.

We had an amazing day at Andy's Mums house, drinking wedding tea (yes there is such a thing), eating cupcakes and making ribbon flags. It was amazing what we acheived with a production line and a lot of love. I can't say thank you enough for all the support ladies!

Merry Christmas to Andy!

My favourite thing about Christmas is the thrill of finding the right present for my loved ones. But Andy happens to be very difficult to find presents for. So this year, I came up with a "12 Days of Christmas" Advent calender! Each box is filled with a different present, leading up to Christmas. I'm so excited to see what he thinks of these 12 little reminders of how great I think he is.

Save the Dates

I wasn't planning on two wedding updates in a row, but there have been some exciting things going on that I can't wait to share!

We've started sending out our Save the Dates, designed by my future-sister-in-law Lucy Olive. She captured exactly what I wanted for both the invites, and the whole wedding theme. She said it perfectly "Classic, clean, elegant, saluting the old but looking like new".

Christmas Time!

This weekend was full of Christmas joy as I decorated the Tree and did a touch of shopping as well. And this week has been the start of the Xmas season with lots of work and Christmas parties, so sorry about being a tad absent this week. Hope you are all having lots of fun and joy with your Christmas season too.

The Bridal Party

One of the most exciting parts of wedding planning so far happened this week! Andy and I officially asked our bridal party to join us.

You might remember me saying that my Fiance is Robotics Engineer. He does projects at home, and has just got a 3D Printer, which prints objects out of plastic. We thought this would be perfect for creating personalised gifts for these super special people.

Andy helped me with designing the Magnolia flower and printing them out for me. I then wrote personalised message to the girls, asking them to be with me along the way. He then made these awesome LED light up boxes for the boys, with a cheeky little message as well.

The photographers have finished their gorgeous work of Mr's Sister's wedding, and now she has posted an amazing run down of one of the best day's ever. Being a part of the day where not only two of my best friends got married, but part of a big family filled with joy, was the most heartwarming experience.

...friendship rings are the coolest

Tomorrow one of my really great friends is flying back to NZ for a few days, before moving to London. When I went to visit her in March, all three of us bought these matching Lion rings from a little Melbourne market, making them officially the coolest friendship rings.

Buying these with two of my childhood friends make me feel like I was 10 years old again, and makes me smile every time I wear mine now.

...I went to the Vintage motor racing.

My parents are part of the Vintage car club, and as such organised a major two day event of motor racing at Hampton Downs, called The Roy Croft Trophy. I went along to support Mum while she was whipping around the track. 1920's attire compulsory of course!

...that my Fiance is a robotics engineer.

For the first time in ages, I didn't have to do anything today, so have been enjoying the sun and the calm. Mr asked if I wanted to go and see him trial his latest project - The Tilter. I took a few pics while he wasn't looking. I am really glad I did now, and one of the motors blew up a minute later, and it's not repairable.

It's been a while since I posted. I haven't feeling very inspired to blog recently, even though I have been super busy and had so much to write about. So with a facelift and some new ideas I'm back!

My parents threw Mr and I the most AMAZING tea party. All the lovely treats were handmade with love my my Mum and Nana. Thank you again to everyone for an amazing afternoon.

I'm Engaged!

I am beyond excited that my boyfriend of 10 years proposed to me on Sunday. He took me to our favourite spot in Auckland, and as we were looking at the boats in the harbour, and talking about photos and memories, he asked "Do you think you will be able to remember this", and then got down on one knee. I think I will be able to remember it without photographic assistance!

I really have to thank Jo and Tony at Platina Jewellery for helping turn all the combination of thoughts and ideas we had into a stunning ring that I'm going to love forever. They knew what I wanted before I did, and were beyond amazing.

I know I'm cheating with my "Outfit of the Week", but with an accessory like this I think I'm allowed.

Tiger Moth Adventure

At 6pm last night, I got a call from my Dad, asking if I wanted to fly in a Tiger Moth at 7pm. The answer was definitely YES!

For a little background, the Tiger Moth is a 2 seater training plane that was used by the Royal Air Force between 1930's and early 1950's.

My parents own vintage cars, and have friends with Vintage aircraft. Thier friend Robert McNair was taking his Tiger Moth out for a fly, so asked Mum and Dad if they wanted to go for a spin. They then decided to gift the flights to me and my brother, since such opportunities are rare.

It really was an incredible experience. We were flying around at about 1000 ft, looking at all the beautiful green fields for around 20 minutes. it was very much like being in a vintage car, but at a different altitude. Rob got me to control the plane for a little bit as well which was absolutely terrifying, especially when he kept telling me to bring the nose up more!

My brother and Dad were both brave enough to experience barrel rolls and stalls, but I was very happy with a straight flight. Thank you so much Mum and Dad, as well as Rob for being so generous in sharing your time and your plane with us.
