I've been criticised for not communicating directly with my readers (I'm not even sure I have any) Anyway I have followers but then again I also follow blogs which I hardly ever read. Anyway just thought I'd let people know my likes and dislikes.

Likes (Please NOTE that I go through various phases so I like now, I may not like tomorrow)

I'm creative and I like it (I will always like this)
I like black coffee (since yesterday)
I like Bobbi Brown make-up
I like the rain (A very helpful feeling to have considering I live in London)
I like Karl Lagerfeld (A very wise man)
I like fabric shops (I'm like a kid in a Candy store)
I like meeting new people
I like worms (Yes believe it or not I do. They are vegetarians though, you find them somewhere in the amazonian jungle)
I like marshmallows (Should I have a reason?)
I like music (Jazz, Rock, Pop, hip-Hop, Opera, Salsa.. I suffer from personality disorder when it comes to music)
I like reading (Everyone should)
I like making clothes.
I like learning new languages.
I like criticism (Constructive criticism is always good. I generally listen to people I love and respect)

My dislikes

I strongly dislike reality shows.
I dislike frogs and flies (PHOBIA)
I dislike people that put other people down in order for them to shine.
I dislike being surrounded by negativity.

Will You Speak Up?

I created this blog because I wanted it to be like some sort of mirror which reflects my view on life in an artistic way. However, I do want to share with people things that fall outside the entertainment box. One of the areas of great importance to me is politics, and yes "You shouldn't discuss politics or religion" but that is You...NOT Me. I've just come across an interesting article which highlights the lack of people's motivation for protesting for their rights. It gives a number of possibilities on why in the last few decades we have become reluctant to speaking up. One of the reasons is the break down of "the class system", you know upper class, middle class and lower class. Which instead of unifying people it actually splits us into groups where the most affected are the lower class, when governments make drastic changes. This obviously divides us which makes us all look out for our own individual ambitions rather than each other's needs.

Another reason is that even if we protest we are not being heard by our government. More than a million people took to the streets to protest against the war on Iraq, but the government still went ahead with it.

Or are we too busy trying to sort out our lives first before becoming involve in a protest?

I admire so many activists that have changed the world in one way or another. In 1903 (UK) , The Suffragettes began campaigning for the right for women to vote, this was the period where women were seen as inferior in society. Women were granted equally voting rights as men in 1928. It took years of demonstrations in order to make history.

Martin Luther King leads a march in 1963 protesting for racial equality and less than a year later, president Lyndon Johnson signed into law the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

So...will you speak up?

Some of you may know I have this unhealthy obsession with James Franco (At least that's what my best friend says) lol, I'm not sure about that BUT I definitely love everything about James Franco, he is smart, handsome, a great actor, director, artist, author...(I'm going to need an oxygen mask if I want to carry on) Anyway, he has been nominated for the 2011 Oscars in the best actor category for his role on the "127 hours" movie (He totally deserves it).

She reflected so many of her personal emotional and physical struggles on her paintings. She was a communist and her last public appearance was at a communist street demonstration.

Bianca Jagger (Born in Nicaragua) is not only a style icon but she has also become a a strong figure promoting human rights all over the world. Over the last 30 years she has written articles as well as delivered speeches at conferences and events covering issues such as the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the war on terror, war crimes against humanity, climate change, the rights of indigenous people, woman rights, death penalty, corporate social responsibility, etc.

Vivienne Westwood played a vital role on the emergence of Punk. She is a unique and outrageous designer and is one of the most influential figures in the fashion world. She's a political activist, as well as being involved in campaigns against global warming.

Audrey Hepburn was an actress, a style icon and an activist. She did a lot of humanitarian work aiming to improve the lives of children all over the world. She spoke many languages fluently including, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian and english.
