AGM 2026 MoM | IIMCAA Adopts Constitutional Amendments to Change Membership Clauses and Rules

The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association (IIMCAA) was held on 05th September 2026 at the IIMC Headquarters, New Delhi.

The meeting was chaired by Executive President Ms. Gayatri Srivastava and was attended by Executive President Mr. Prabhash Jha, Vice Presidents Mr. Gaurav Dikshit, Mr. Animesh Biswas, Ms. Sneha Bhattacharjee and Mr. Prabhat Upadhyay, Organisation Secretary Mr. Harshendra Singh Verdhan, Secretaries Mr. Dadan Vishwakarma, Mr. Ijaj Khan and Ms. Khushi Sharma, Treasurer Ms. Deeksha Saksena, Central Committee Members Ms. Priyanka Singh, Mr. Prabhat Kumar, Mr. Satyakam Abhishek, Mr. Anand Saurabh, Mr. Kaushal Vishwakarma, Ms. Sugam Singhal, Mr. Shreesh Chandra Singh, Mr. Komal Badodekar, Mr. Shankar Pandit, Ms. Tanima Ray and Mr. Rupesh Kumar.

The IIMCAA President Mr. Sushil Singh addressed the general body meeting virtually from Aizawl.

Minutes of the Annual General Body Meeting

1. Activity Reports - The Secretary Mr. Dadan Vishwakarma presented the report of activities of the association. AGM lauded the efforts of the Team IIMCAA in organising meetings, Connections meets and other activities apart from supporting the IIMCAA Care Fund.

2. Financial Reports - The Treasurer Ms. Deeksha Saksena presented the audited report of accounts and balance sheet for the FY 2025-26. The AGM approved the financial reports and balance sheet unanimously. This shall be uploaded on the website of IIMCAA apart from printing it in the annual souvenir books as usual.

3. Constitutional Amendments

A. Inserting Calendar Year Word in the Constitution for holding AGMs

The AGM approved the proposal to insert the word Calendar Year for holding AGMs in the constitution unanimously. Ideally, Annual General Body Meetings shall be hosted in the month of September-October every year.

B. Constitutional Amendments with respect to Membership Clauses

The AGM approved various proposals unanimously to make Membership a central point and basis for meetings, activities and initiatives of IIMCAA. Appropriate changes shall be made in the constitution to reflect the following decisions:-

I. Lifetime Membership/Annual Membership/Renewal of Annual Membership shall be mandatory for alumni to get included or retained in the General Body/Membership List/Voters List. Annual Membership duration shall start on the date of registration/renewal and end on the same date the following year.
II. Alumni shall enroll as a Lifetime Member all through the year at a Lifetime Membership Fee of INR 20,000 plus taxes.
III. Alumni shall enroll/renew as an annual member from 1st November to 31st January next year for Annual Membership Fee of INR 1,000 plus taxes.
IV. Alumni shall enroll as an annual member from 1st February to 31st October same year for Annual Membership Fee of INR 1,500 plus taxes.
V. IIMC Students shall enroll as an annual member after passing final exams until 31st January next year for Annual Membership Fee of INR 1,000 plus taxes.
VI. The waiting period for membership benefits for a new member shall be 30 days from the date of registration, except for Connections Meets.
VII. The grace period for membership benefits for a past member shall be 30 Days from the date of renewal, except for Connections Meets.
VIII. Alumni shall be considered a non-member for all purposes if not a lifetime/annual member as defined above.
IX. General Body/Membership List/Voter List shall be updated based on registration and renewals at regular intervals.
X. All other Membership clauses in the constitution remain unchanged, if not impacted by resolutions above.

The approved amendments to the constitution, as adopted in the AGM, shall be incorporated, and an updated copy of the constitution shall be submitted to the Registrar of the Society, South East District, New Delhi. It shall be uploaded on the website of IIMCAA and circulated among members as well.

4. Co-opting IIMCAA Care Fund and 50% Membership Fees to Care Fund

The AGM adopted a proposal unanimously to donate half the Membership Fees (50%) it receives to IIMCAA Care Fund, with a minimum annual commitment of INR 2,00,000 (Two Lakh Rupees) only. IIMCAA Care Fund, an independent trust established to help alumni in medical needs, was co-opted to further the aims and objectives of IIMCAA at the AGM in 2025. Such donations shall be transferred to the IIMCAA Care Fund on a monthly/quarterly/half yearly/yearly or an emergency basis.

5. IIMCAA Awards Timelines change and Categories withdrawn

The AGM was apprised of the timeline changes and other developments with respect to IIMCAA Awards.

Entries shall open on 1st December 2026 and close on 20th December 2026 for IIMCAA Awards 2027. Applicants should submit news/campaigns done between 1st January 2026 and 30th November 2026 for the IIMCAA Awards 2027.

The categories for PR, Ad and Digital Agencies stand withdrawn.

6. Any issue that is raised for discussion by members present at the AGM

The Organisation Secretary Mr. Harshendra Singh Verdhan proposed to support the Chapters/Sub-Chapters financially to accelerate activities.

The AGM discussed the support models and unanimously approved to extend financial assistance to the Chapters/Sub-Chapters in hosting quarterly meetings/activities. A Chapter/Sub-Chapter shall get INR 250 per person (member present in meeting/activity) and maximum up to INR 5000 for a quarterly meeting or activity against the bills.

A process for claiming reimbursements for organising such quarterly meetings/activities shall be made and intimated to the concerned office bearers separately.

Mr. Sandeep Sharma (HJ, Delhi | 2008-09 Batch) will be the Principal Organiser for the 2nd edition of Annual Off-Site Meet- Connections 2.0 Dharamshala 2026. Meet is being held from 2nd October to 4th September in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.

Mr. Sandeep Sharma is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Prior to joining HPU, he was a faculty member at MCU, Bhopal, and also worked briefly with Dainik Bhaskar in Bhopal.

With over a decade of experience spanning journalism education, research, and media practice, Mr. Sharma has made significant contributions to teaching, research, curriculum development, and academic administration.

MoM - Gujarat Chapter to Conduct IGR 3.0 and Off-Site Alumni Meet in Saputara

IIMCAA, Gujarat Chapter met on 04th September 2026 in Ahmedabad. Chapter President Mr. Shivendra Madhusudan presided over the meeting that was attended by Former President Dr. Pradeep Mallick, General Secretary Mr. Utsav Jain, Former General Secretary Mr. Arvind Kumar and Mr. Dheeraj Vashishtha.

Key Discussions & Decisions

1. IGR 3.0

Mr. Arvind Kumar proposed initiating the 3rd season of IIIMCAA Run (3.0). The members present agreed to the proposal. The IGR is an initiative of Mr. Arvind Kumar and Ms. Rashmi Chouhan. The details of this will be posted and shared by Mr. Arvind Kumar separately soon.

The members present agreed to meet on 11th October (tentative) at Yog Ashram. The members will collectively undertake a 3 kms/ 5 kms walk or run as suggested by Yog guru Mr. Dheeraj Vashishth at a place near his ashram.

2. Get Together at Saputara

Yog Guru Mr. Dheeraj Vashishtha floated an idea of a get-together of the members of the Gujarat chapter at Saputara - a small hill station. Present members agreed to this proposal. As of now tentative dates are 19th (Sat) & 20th (Sun) December 2026. We will drive/ leave on 18th December (Fri) latest by 2 pm from Ahmedabad.

3. Next Chapter Meeting

Members tentatively planned to organise the next Chapter meeting on 11th October 2026 at Yog Guru Dheeraj Ji’s Ashram.

IIMCAA, Gujarat Chapter met on 23rd August 2026 in Ahmedabad. Chapter President Mr. Shivendra Madhusudan presided the meeting that was attended by Former General Secretary Mr. Arvind Kumar, Mr. Joy Daniel Pradhan, Mr. Utsav Jain and Mr. Vishvajeet Choudhan.

Key Discussions & Decisions

1. Appointment of General Secretary

Mr. Utsav Jain was officially chosen as the General Secretary of the Gujarat Chapter to replace Mr. Jitesh Pandey. The Chapter thanked Mr. Pandey for his contributions and extended its best wishes to him for his future endeavours.

2. Strengthening Knowledge-Sharing & Capacity Building

Members discussed taking Gujarat Chapter to the next level by strengthening knowledge-sharing initiatives and organising more capacity-building programmes for the benefit of members at large.

3. Next Chapter Meeting

Members tentatively planned to organise the next Chapter meet in September 2026 at mutually decided place near Bopal/Shilaj.

4. IIMCAA T-shirts

Provision of Customized T-Shirts for the IIMCAA Gujarat Chapter, featuring the IIMCAA logo, as part of IIMCAA’s brand-value enhancement and visibility.

MoM - Singapore Chapter Elects Sameer Mohindru President and Ajay Modi Organisation Secretary

We are pleased to share that the Singapore Chapter held an informal members’ meet on 30 July 2026, where nine alumni came together for a Litti Chokha get-together. The gathering provided an excellent opportunity for members to reconnect, strengthen professional and personal bonds, and discuss chapter’s plans for this year.

During the meeting, the following office-bearer appointments were proposed and unanimously approved by the members present:

Mr. Sameer Mohindru was unanimously appointed as the President of the IIMCAA Singapore Chapter, following a proposal by the General Secretary, Mr. Saurabh Chaturvedi.
Mr. Ajay Modi was unanimously appointed as the Organisational Secretary, also on the proposal of the General Secretary, Mr. Saurabh Chaturvedi.

The members also resolved to organise such chapter meet-ups on a regular basis to further strengthen alumni engagement and foster a vibrant IIMCAA community in Singapore.

We look forward to the continued support of the IIMCAA Central Office as we work towards expanding the chapter’s activities and outreach.

The Governing Council met virtually on 9th August 2026 under the chairmanship of IIMCAA President Mr. Sushil Singh and was attended by several GC Members. Ms. Simrat Gulati, Mr. Prasad Sanyal, Ms. Gayatri Srivastava, Mr. Gaurav Dikshit, Mr. Prabhat Kumar. Mr. Animesh Biswas, Mr. Ritesh Verma, Mr. Anand Saurabh, Ms. Sneha Bhattacharjee, Ms. Sadhna Arya, Mr. Shreesh Chandra Singh, Mr. Atul Gupta (General Secretary), Ms. Deeksha Saksena (Teasurer), Mr. Komal Badodekar and Mr. Shankar Pandit joined the meeting from the central pool. Mr. Rajender Kataria (Karnataka), Mr. Mangjangam Touthang (Mizoram), Ms. Alice Guram (Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh), Mr. Satya Rath (Andhra Pradesh & Telangana), Mr. Marinder Mishra (Uttar Pradesh), Mr. Krishna Pophale (Maharashtra), Ms. Amy Felicia Danielle (Mizoram) and Mr. Dattatreya Nayak (Odisha) participated from the chapter's pool.

The meeting discussed agendas for the upcoming Annual General Meeting- All Hands Meet 2026 on 5th September 2026. It deliberated various issues and has finalised agendas to put for the consideration of the General Body as follows:-

1. Inserting Calendar Year Word in the Constitution for holding AGMs

The Governing Council approved to insert the Calendar Year word in the constitution to hold AGM. It will allow IIMCAA to host AGMs in September-October, which are being advanced every year to keep the date in the range of within one year.

2. Constitutional Amendments with respect to Membership Clauses

The Governing Council discussed the Seven (07) recommendations made by the Membership Clauses Review Committee led by Ms. Kasturi Ray. The Governing Council has resolved to make membership a key for the events, activities and initiatives of the IIMCAA. It shall look at Membership of alumni for events, activities and initiatives. It has resolved as follows;

A. Every alumnus of IIMC must pay a membership fee to become a part of IIMCAA. To make IIMCAA vibrant and stronger, a commitment in the form of paid membership is important. That would keep the members connected for all association purposes. Membership shall make an alumnus eligible to remain on the general body/voter list, attend Annual Meets in states and with a nominal event fee in Delhi, and get a recommendation for financial assistance from IIMCAA Care Fund, in a situation of hospitalisation/medical care.

B. Membership Calendar- Membership shall remain available online as earlier but a timeline shall be introduced for renewal or registration of Annual Membership with or without a late fee.

a. Lifetime Membership registrations shall remain open the whole year. Lifetime Fee shall remain 20,000 plus GST- total 23600 Rupees.

b. Annual Membership registrations shall open for renewal or fresh enrollment for two months between 1st December to 31st January every year. Annual Fee shall remain 1,000 plus GST- total 1180 Rupees.

c. Annual Membership registrations shall open with a late fee for renewal or fresh enrollment from 1st February to 30th November every year. Annual Fee with late charge will be 1,500 plus GST- total 1770 Rupees.

d. A grace period of One Month shall apply to entitlements/benefits against Annual Membership for an existing member from the due date for renewal.

e. A waiting period of One Month shall apply to entitlements/benefits against Annual Membership for a new member from the date of registration.

C. Audit Report and Balance Sheet shall be published additionally online under a separate section, apart from being published in the annual souvenir book as usual.

3. Co-opting IIMCAA Care Fund and 50% Membership Fees to Care Fund

A. The Governing Council has decided to co-opt IIMCAA Care Fund as a body to further the aims and objectives of IIMC Alumni Association. IIMCAA Care Fund, a registered trust, helps alumni in medical need apart from other initiatives. Donations to IIMCAA Care Fund are covered under Section 80 G of Income Tax.

B. The Governing Council has approved the proposal to donate 50% of membership fee collections to IIMCAA Care Fund in monthly/quarterly/half yearly/yearly installments. A minimum annual donation of 2,00,000 (TWO LAKH) Rupees is committed for the trust.

4. IIMCAA Awards Timelines change

The Governing Council was briefed about a change in timelines for entry for IIMCAA Awards. It approved the change and kept in the agenda for formal communication to the General Body.

Agreed matters will be put before The Governing Council meeting for discussion and approval. A detailed agenda for the AGM shall be shared after approval by the Governing Council.

2. Membership Clauses Review Committee Recommendations

The Central Committee meeting was apprised of the 7-point recommendations made by the Membership Clauses Review Committee led by Ms. Kasturi Ray. CC deliberated each recommendation in detail and has decided to take these up with the Governing Council for final approval before putting it at the AGM.

Executive President Mr. Prabhash Jha presided over the meeting, which was attended by Vice Presidents Mr. Animesh Biswas, Ms. Sneha Bhattacharjee and Ms. Sadhna Arya, General Secretary Mr. Atul Gupta, Secretary Ms. Khushi Sharma, Treasurer Ms. Deeksha Saksena, Executive Members Mr. Prabhat Pandey, Mr. Shankar Pandit, Ms. Tanima Ray and Mr. Rupesh Kumar. Former President Ms. Simrat Gulati, IIMCAA Creative Head Ms. Puja Mishra, Mr. Ritesh Verma and Mr. Soyeb Akthar Molla also participated in the meeting. It discussed various issues and unanimously decided the following items.

1. Donation to IIMCAA Care Fund

The Central Committee decided to donate 50% of the membership fees it receives to the IIMCAA Care Fund. A minimum annual donation of ₹2 Lakh must be ensured to the IIMCAA Care Fund. IIMCAA will transfer ₹2 Lakh to the IIMCAA Care Fund for Alumni Memberships between 1st March and 31st July 2026.

2. Connections 2026 Review

The meeting discussed various issues that occurred during the Annual Meet- Connections 2026 at PSOI Club in New Delhi. Members debated a range of topics, including invitations, venue, food, gifts, rundown, and creatives. It identified areas of improvement, which will be implemented next year.

3. IIMCAA Awards 2026 Review

CC has decided to advance the opening and closing dates for entries. Entries will start on 1st December 2026 and close on 20th December 2026. Applicants should submit news/campaigns done between 1st January 2026 and 30th November 2026 for the IIMCAA Awards 2027.

The committee decided to drop the categories for PR, Ad and Digital Agencies going forward.

4. All Hands Meet 2026

The Central Committee will host the Annual General Meeting (AGM) - All Hands Meet - on either September 19th or 20th, 2026. The Governing Council and The Central Committee will prepare the agenda in due course.

5. Bank Signatories

The Central Committee has decided to replace Ms. Simrat Gulati as a signatory with Mr. Atul Gupta. Other two signatories overseeing bank operations are Vice President Mr. Animesh Biswas and Treasurer Ms. Deeksha Saksena.

6. Connections 2.0 Dharamshala 2026

The Central Committee approved an expenditure plan of up to ₹2 Lakh to organise Connections 2.0 Dharamshala 2026.

Ms. Kasturi Ray to Head 15 Members Committee to Review IIMCAA Memberships Clauses for Constitution Amendment

The Central Committee, at its meeting on 24th May 2026, has decided to form an empowered committee to review membership clauses in the constitution of IIMC Alumni Association. IIMCAA President Mr. Sushil Singh presided over the meeting that was attended by former President Ms. Simrat Gulati and others.

The Central Committee is hereby nominating a 15 Members committee led by Ms. Kasturi Ray (EJ, Dhenkanal | 1993-94 Batch) as Chairperson. The committee comprises office bearers and alumni from various chapters. IIMCAA's Executive President Ms. Gayatri Srivastava and Mr. Animesh Biswas will be representing the Central Committee and Co-founders respectively.

The committee shall review membership clauses to suggest appropriate changes in the constitution to make it a focal point of activities and initiatives of IIMCAA going forward. It shall also consider suggestions from alumni on this matter before making its recommendations. The Central Committee shall process the recommendations of the committee to the Governing Council and the General Body to adopt such changes in the constitution.

Alumni may email their suggestions to Ms. Kasturi Ray at raykasturi@gmail.com while marking a copy of the email to IIMCAA at alumni.iimc@gmail.com within a week, latest by next Friday, 3rd July 2026.

MoM - Central Committee Meeting | 7th February | Connections & IIMCAA Awards 2026

Dear IIMCians,

The Central Committee met at the Press Club of India on 7th February. IIMCAA President Mr. Sushil Singh presided over the meeting that was attended by several current and former IIMCAA office bearers. It discussed various aspects of Connections, IIMCAA Awards, Association's daily administration and has taken following decisions.

1. Connections 2026 Meets: CC reviewed sponsorship progress and decided to organise chapter meets preferably in states from where some support has come. It will review funds after the Delhi event and decide how many meets can be organised in which states at chapter levels. It will not host international chapter meets this year due to shortage of funds.

2. IIMCAA Awards 2026: CC discussed and selected a set of winners for Committee Awards Felicitations at Connections 2026 Global Meet in Delhi on 28th February.

3. Authorised Signatories; CC decided to continue with current authorised signatories for the bank operations and other purposes as required for the routine administration.

MoM - Gujarat Chapter Meeting | 7th February | Connections 2026 Ahmedabad on 12th April

Dear IIMCians,

IIMCAA Gujarat Chapter met on 7th February in Ahmedabad. Chapter President Mr. Shivendra Madhusudan presided over the meeting that was attended by Chapter's Former President Dr. Pradeep Mallick, Former General Secretary Mr. Avrind Kumar, Mr. Susim Mohanty, Mr. Dheeraj Vashishth and Mr. Utsav Jain. It discussed various issues and has decided as follows.

1. The new date for the Annual Connections Meet is 12th April 2026 (Sunday). Please mark your calendar for the same.

2. The date was deliberated and agreed by all members present.
3. It was also proposed and accepted that the Connections meet will be held over High Tea (in the case it is self funded).
4. The Connections Meet will be held over Lunch if it is centrally funded.
5. Next meeting on 22nd March: It was agreed to meet to deliberate and finalize preparation for Annual Connections Meet.

On behalf of the Gujarat chapter, I request all the members to mark your calendar for the annual meet and for the 22nd March preparatory meeting.

The Central Committee met at IIMC HQ on 7th December. IIMCAA Executive President Mr. Prabhash Jha presided over the meeting that was attended by Vice Presidents Ms. Sneha Bhattacharjee, Ms. Sadhna Arya, General Secretary Mr. Atul Gupta, Secretary Ms. Vani Shukla, Treasurer Ms. Deeksha Saksena, CC Members Mr. Prabhat Kumar, Mr. Kaushal Vishwakarma, Mr. Ajit Dara Singh, Mr. Shankar Pandit, Ms. Tanima Ray and former Organisation Secretary Mr. Ritesh Verma. It discussed various issues pertaining to annual meet and awards. Following decisions were taken.

Minutes of the Meeting

1. IIMCAA Awards 2026: The CC has approved a campaign plan upto one lakh rupees to reach out to possible applicants for IIMCAA Awards 2026 by various social media platforms.

2. Connections 2026: The CC has approved a plan to take services of agencies/ consultants in raising new sponsorships or reviving dormant sponsorships. Agencies/ consultants will be paid a service fee up to 15 percent plus taxes for such sponsorships.

3. Connections 2026: The CC has decided to keep allowances unchanged, an IIMCAA official is entitled to claim if travelling for official purposes. IIMCAA shall reimburse 5000 rupees maximum, against the bills or self-declaration to that effect, to one person for airport transfers, local travel and food for a round trip. Expenses incurred on additional travels and meetings for sponsorships/ partnerships will be reimbursed on the actual basis. This is over and above travel tickets and accommodation.

Fundraising Appeal for Mr. Rahul Kumar | IIMCAA Care Fund Contributes INR 20,000

Dear IIMCians,

The IIMCAA Care Fund has unanimously decided to extend financial assistance of INR 20,000 to Mr. Rahul Kumar (HJ, 1994–95 Batch), who recently sought help from the Trust. This contribution has been approved as under the medical assistance guidelines of the IIMCAA Care Fund.

Mr. Rahul has been diagnosed with lung cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment in Patna. While this initial support has been provided, Mr. Rahul's medical treatment requires far greater financial resources. We appeal to our alumni community and well-wishers to come forward and contribute directly to him in this difficult phase.

The IIMC Alumni Association (IIMCAA) is pleased to announce that the entries for the 10th IIMCAA Awards are now OPEN FOR SUBMISSION. It is open for all working professionals including non-IIMCians.

Our commitment to recognize the outstanding achievements in various fields of mass communication and fostering connections among them remains steadfast. Hosting another round of these prestigious awards marks a significant milestone, and we are elated to have reached the IIMCAA Awards 2026.

The IIMCAA Awards 2026 will honour the best professional works done by an applicant/ applicants from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025. Out of the 13 categories, 10 offer a cash prize along with a trophy and certificate, while the remaining 3 offer a trophy and certificate.

The shortlisting of entries and selection of winners will be conducted by an esteemed panel of jury members. The winners will be announced on 28 February at Connections Meet in Delhi. IIMCAA will contact the winners and share the invite to attend the award ceremony.

IMPORTANT CHANGES WITH RESPECT TO IIMCAA AWARDS 2025

- An applicant is required to submit THREE (3) News/Shows/Campaigns done in 2025 now, instead of ONE (1).

- An applicant is required to submit essay in video format, instead of written essay to justify his/her/their claim for the award
