March #1 Trade at Work. = Win

Hey guys, haven't update for a while because of laziness. Today is a special case because I'm at work now (welcome to the work force, they say) and I got nothing to do yet in my office. That is why, I'm checking my chart and going for an entry of a A300 trade. Lately, trading did not progress as expected. I am learning a lot in trading, always observing the chart and doing a lot a lot a lot of backtest and I feel that I understand a bit more and more as time goes by which I'm grateful for.

Talking about the trade I took today, we're not suppose to take today's trade for some reason, but I'm gonna' state down the reason I took this trade in my trading journal. Hopefully it will be a valid trade because I really don't wanna' waste more time from advancing myself to learn A300E, which is a more enhanced level of A300.

I entered that trade not long after I reached my office. Saw the entry quite late, but no problem since it never hit the intended target of 300 pips. By using Ambuyat level to predict the movement, it's definitely more than 300 pips target. However, all I wanna' do is to get my wins. 300 pips, no problem. TP-ed in 5 hours after my lunch break.

December Wrap Up

Hey guys, I haven't been updating for a while. Last month, there was 7 A300 trades and 6 of them are winning trades and only a losing trade. That's some impressive statistics huh?

Anyways, I took 2 trades but only one of them is a valid one. In fact, I'm still going for my 20 wins. ;)

Trade 3 (690 Pips)

I entered a A300 trade on the 12 December 2013 and I felt that it's a good catch.

Trade 4 (190 Pips - Not Valid)

I entered another trade based on A300 on the 19 December 2013. I remember that day I was helping out at my dad at work. I was monitoring my trade on my mobile phone, without a proper desktop or laptop. Anyways, I entered a trade when I saw the activation of A300 using my mobile phone and only managed to check the trade after I got home about an hour after I entered the trade.

Once I look at the monitor of my laptop, I realized that it wasn't a valid entry. However, I was going out for a movie with friends. So I had to close the trade and I took a profit of 190 pips as I know I wouldn't be able to monitor the trade and I didn't want to ruin my night in the theatre. Anyways, it would have hit my TP target but I learnt a lot from this trade. I never feel so good exiting a trade in order to secure my own trades. I felt that my psychology improved a lot and like what Marcus said, there's always another day.

This time going for my 20 wins for A300 Setup, I really take my time and enter carefully. My aim is not to just get the wins, but I really wanna' get it right. Not only that I wanna' have a lot of greens in my statement, but what I really wanna' see is the growth of my trading account. Remember that I was at -60% on November? By the time December ends, I I was at -40%. Although it's still a negative, I'm sure it's gonna' go positive really soon.

November Wrap Up

Hello, I haven't updated my blog since the first of November as I felt that my blog is slowly turning into my trading journal and I'm not really use to that. I mean it can be a good thing and it can be a bad thing. For me personally, I feel that a blog entry can only be good when the updates that I write is something that I'm into. That way, the content feels genuine and that's actually the only time I feel like writing and sharing my thoughts here.

Like I mentioned in my last post, I just got back into trading last month and it feels really good and I really feel that I'm progressing each and every day. I have started to learn the market correctly and I'm starting to feel more and more confident by just looking and analysing the chart everyday. Currently, I'm working for my 20 wins on the A300 syllabus, my backtest data and also some forward test and observation for the new released SRDC3.

It would be really cool if I'm able to show some of you guys the techniques that we're learning in this Community. I recently saw some of these people from other trading groups who are showing some of their techniques like a preview in Facebook and out of curiosity, I kind of check out what they are up to offer and I really feel that there's no competition between what we're learning and what I think they are teaching.

Anyways, let's talk about the trades I took last month.

Trade Number 1 - This entry can be found in the previous post.

Trade Number 2 - I took a hit of -1420 pips.

Trade Number 3 - I took a short and wala, 300pips.

Trade Number 4 - It's a end of the month trade, which I'm not really sure if I'm suppose during the end of the month but honestly speaking, I was really devastated from this trade because it hit me huge at my trading account as my account for that month is -63%.

However, while I was planning this blog post, I was actually staring at the chart for quite some time. I discovered something in which I never realised before and I think this is somewhat called the learning process of trading. After this entry, I find that it is really important to keep a trading journal, especially a one that is visible to the public as I need to be accountable to someone and being accountable to the public through this blog is really something for me.

If you haven't notice, I highlighted four points in the fourth image above. As we can see, it is actually a very strong resistance right at that point. That's one of the reason why that A300 activation ended up to be a fail trade.

The more I trade and the more I observe at the chart, I really feel that trading is not just about giving you the entries and you can start trading, it comes with a lot of patience, discipline and also a lot of passion and time you put into understanding more about the orchestration of the market in order to be able to profit consistently from the market.

I come to realize that the worst part among all is our emotion,s our emotions plays an important role in our daily life. Imagine you took a bad trade and you took a huge lost, it's devastating and it's gonna' affect our psychology, the same goes to a lot of stuffs in life. For instance, your first love; remember the time your first love broke you heart, so deep, so pain that you thought all the girls are the same? Until you found the one? Anyways, long story short, the point that I wanna' remind myself is that don't expect to become a millionaire from trading in just a few months, and don't expect to become so pro at trading just because I learnt some powerful technique. It takes time, determination, hard work and a lot of good positive attributes that I did not mention.

"The technique is only 10%, 90% of the success comes from our psychology" and I totally agree with that, one hundred percent.

11/1 First Trade since USA Trip

Hello guys, it's been awhile since I last updated my blog. The reason for this long disappearance is that I went to United States for a work and travel programme. A lot of people are so interested in how I got to the States and I will share my experience and how to get there once I feel like writing. Overall, I had a great time there, meet a lot of awesome people, witness a lot of interesting stuffs and it is also a very memorable experience in my life.

Anyways, I was at the States for four months and a lot of things changed, a change of lifestyle, a change of standards, a change of environment, and I came home with a bigger goal and a bigger dream.

Last week, I get to meet Marcus, Adeline and another two traders from KL, Shawn and Nee. It was a great week as we get to spend a weekend together, getting updates of our community as I was away for four months and pretty much the syllabus changed a lot. I also feel that the trip to the States kind of grow me into a more mature person as I feel that I see the whole trading profession as something different from before. I realised that I focused too much on entries and exits and forgot about the movement of the market. Marcus kind of shared how he interpret and read the chart which I would say is very valuable and it's like 'study the movement' instead of 'finding an entry'.

I already feel that I am a better trader than before and I'm certain that I will become a better trader in near future. Anyways, today mark the day of my first A300 win since I got back from the States. The experience of taking this trade was so good as we were already anticipating an entry since 7PM as there was a signal from the Ambuyat levels.

Notice that the whole trade, entry to exit, took place in less than a minute.

I got back from work and I was with my laptop waiting for an entry. It was a funny one as I entered when I got the confirmation and the price went down so fast that I didn't even had the time to set my 'take profit' as the price hit more than my target which is more than 300 pips so I had to close the trade manually. It was a 340pips profit, and I was in that trade for only about 10 seconds.

I'm really glad that I'm making progress and I'm excited about what this community and skill can help me get to my dreams.

One last shoutout to Adeline & Marcus, I'm glad to be able to spend time with you guys, and I really learnt a lot from you guys. Thank you!

5/7 490 Pips Harvest.

Last Friday, we were not supposed to trade as there was a reason for it. However, I took a short, aiming just 490 pips and I got it. There was a potential of 3000+ pips. Anyways, always feeling grateful. Looking forward to the following weeks ahead..

6/7 Mixed Feeling

Today is a very interesting day. Something out of the ordinary happened today and I learnt my lesson I would say. First of all, I entered a trade in late noon. I took a short and it bounced the support and I was a thousand plus pips negative. I was out, bringing Milkie out to vet and I did not see the chart until about 5. I took a hit of 1300 pips, it was horrible.

Then, I took a long not long after (believe me, I wasn't doing revenge trade). I took a resistance break (doing forward-test, not official srdc technique) while waiting for a A300 break. Damn! It's as if the price is playing mind games with me and it went down for another few hundred pips, but I held onto my trades and waited and waited and waited. While playing games, I tp-ed at about 12 AM.

Today, I experienced confusion in ambuyat gap. Besides that, I feel that I have to get my psychology straight as I felt that I was too hasty entering trades. If it wasn't because of hastiness, I wouldn't have got that negative 1300 in the first place. Anyways, I think I'm gonna' send Adeline & Marcus a journal to solve the confusion in my head regarding the ambuyat gap.

6/5 Forward Test

Hello peeeps, I just got back from KL last Saturday and it was quite a journey. The review session in KL was totally worth it. It is eye opening, very motivating and inspiring. Lately, a lot of trader's journal are up online, I read a few and it keeps you motivated as you don't wanna be left behind not trading where as everyone else is making progress. This activity rocks as I feel the momentum to check the chart everyday the first thing I wake up in the morning. (P/S: I did not do that before all these while)

I learnt a lot from Marcus from the previous review session. I believe he gave a lot of hints regarding A300e, which is a very powerful setup which is not officially released yet. I'm really eager for the setup and looking forward for it as looking from those journals, the entries are totally unpredictable and it can easily harvest 500 pips everyday. Omigosh!

Anyways, from what I learnt from the previous review session, the curiosity within me of course made me wanna' figure out how A300e works. I mean, it's not easy and I'm not a genius but I wanna' keep observing the movement of the market before learning that new setup. However, I did enter a trade today base on using the ambuyat gap as take profit. Anyways, I'm forward testing what I had been observing and I won't wanna' risk anything on my live account before learning the real thing.

31/5 A300 Trade

Hello, yesterday was another day where I harvested 300 pips from A300. I was in KL yesterday, running around here and there, didn't really have the time to look at the chart until I reached Exilon V Sdn. Bhd. for the first time. I sat down, checked the chart and saw an entry. So I entered, and I didn't even know when I took the profit because I did not check the chart until this morning.

I took a long obviously. The orange vertical line indicates the candle where I entered.The green dotted line indicates the price where I entered, the red line indicates where I tp-ed. So, I suffered a reversal of 1000 pips. I actually didn't realized until actually writing this. I wonder how does it feels like when I look at the chart and it goes negative 1000. Quite scary I suppose. But it turns out well, it went down for a reason where only SRDC students understand why. Eventually, I tp-ed after 6 hours of wait. :)

Why Do I Trade?

I am a gold market trader and I have been learning the art of trading from a year ago. Trading is fun and is full of potential, potential in terms of another source of income, freedom of time and it's easy when you are part of a great community. About a year ago, I was in an urge of wanting more money. I started thinking about my future and I started thinking if I were in the right track to make big chunk of money.

In fact, becoming a fresh grad in graphic design in degree level is about RM 1,500 to RM 2,000 and that's about it. You work 9 to 5, probably Monday to Friday and slowly climb the ladder, try other opportunities in other companies, states or country for a higher salary and you work for the next 10 to 20 years only to find that you're stuck in the job.

Obviously, that's not what I want so I started looking for other alternatives and I encountered something called trading. I started learning from a community called SRDCWorldwide which specialize in teaching financial intelligence, technical charting analysis and world class dinar and dirhams.

So far, I am very convinced with the system and I personally feel that there is nothing like what we learn out there. It's very powerful and highly accurate where you can easily harvest pips from the market. To me, it's another form of side income as I could still continue what I do and earn something extra from the market.

Right now, I am at a point where I feel that I am more confident in my skills and I'm still learning day by day. I would say I'm about there to really start growing my live account. Still lack of confident as I'm still strengthening my psychology by backtest and forward test. What has psychology do with trading? To be successful in trading, it requires 10% of skills and 90% of psychology. That is why, knowing 1+1=2 is useless when you don't know how to apply it.

Learning to trade is not a get-rich-quick-scheme (skim cepat kaya). Trading requires the right knowledge, the right attitude (psychology) and the experience to get it right. Like many of us who are studying, how long it takes for you to graduate? 4 years? 5 years? Its about the same when it comes to trading, we are expected to be good at it after 2 years of practicing.

The good thing is, everybody who sees the potential in this and have an interest for this source of income can learn. It does not requires you to be a lawyer, engineer or doctor to be able to understand how the system works. It does not requires 10 straight As' in SPM for you to enroll. "It's for everybody, even my grandma can trade!", they said.

To sum up, the reason I trade is because I find that it a good source of side income as the potential is really big and it does not take a lot of time. You don't need to own an office, you don't need to wear proper uniforms, you don't need to get caught in the traffic, you are your own boss and you can basically make money in your boxers. All you need is to learn from the right people..

The Beginning of My Future

Greetings from Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia and hello everybody. Welcome to my little blog. Today is a very good day and there will be a new label for this blog starting today. I shall call it 'Pipping Journey'. Starting from today, I will be posting all the trades that I make, be it the wins or the loses. This will serve as a self evaluation journal and also a testimonial to many people who doubt what we do.

First of all, I would like to thank my family, especially my father and my late mother who raised me up, fed me and provided me with everything that I need. Secondly, I would like to thank my big brother, who has always been a role model deep in my heart. He influenced me in a lot of ways, since I was a kid, he already started teaching me with all the values and lessons in life. I would also like to thank my beloved, Lilian Voon; who has been by my side for the past 4 years, she's my everything and has been staying by my side in my highs and lows.

Also, I would like to thank SRDCWorldwide; without the existence of this community, there won't be a chance of me writing this posts and I also would not have gotten the chance to learn how to trade like a boss. I would like to thank Sir OrangeRoshan for making all of these happen. I would like to thank Adeline, Cherry, Leonard and Salwana for doing that preview in Kuching during that time (great timing). Also, special thanks to Adeline for mentoring me throughout my journey. Not to forget the very handsome, hilarious, inspiring man I look up to, Marcus. Thank you all very much.

So what do we do? Our community basically provides 2 things. Number one, technical analysis for the financial market. Secondly, we sell world class dinar and dirhams. This blog (Pipping Journey Labeled) will cover the technical analysis part where I record down what I do in my trading account. Basically, we learn to predict the market movement, and we harvest pips/points from there and make money out the trades we make in the commodity market. Questions are welcome, feel free to find out why we do, what we do, and how we do it.

May 22, 2013 - Wednesday

There was no A300 activation for today. However, there was a 3A activation. When I saw the chart, I was an hour late. However, I still see that there was at least 400 pips of potential movement, so I entered. After 4 hours, I took the profit of 420 pips. This is the trade of the day.

The green dotted line indicates my entry level and the red dotted line indicates my take profit level. The green arrow point upwards is the point where I buy, and the green coloured tick is the point where I took my profit. Cheers!

Best Day Yet

Today is a good day, I woke up after a good night sleep and the weather's great. Nothing magnetic is pulling me back onto the bed. I just feel wonderful, feel great and it's amazing that how good today can be. This is the best day of my life yet.

I see the blue sky, the cloudy bright sky filled with hope and love. All and all makes me feel more grateful for living in abundance, a life to enjoy, a life filled with love, wisdom, wealth and joy. It is the best experience ever.

Welcome 2013

2012 has been interesting, a lot of things happened; some well planned, some surprises and some out of the ordinary. It seems like it has been such a long year that I actually don't remember much of what happened in the early year of 2012. I hate to say that it wasn't a really great year, as I'm looking for productivity but I did not produce much of a result. Hopefully, this year is gonna' be better. Looking back, what are the things that happened to me and what are the major events that had people talked about in that year?

The first thing I can think of is the failure of the Mayan's Calendar. It has been a hot topic saying that the world is gonna' end in 2012. Obviously, as we are reading this, we know it is so not true. I wonder who came up with that idea. I wasn't a believer as I feel that if the world is gonna' end, I don't think any human is able to predict about that. Perhaps for some people, such a rumour would make some of us to live life to the fullest thinking our days ahead are limited.

In the year 2012, I was also exposed to quite a few information about the economy, about some of the things they don't want you to know. It's quite a shocking thing to be honest, about all those theories. Besides all those, I also came to understand the monetary system that the the world is using and how it is affecting us. Not only that, I started to listen to inspirational and successful people like Anthony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki and Mike Meloney. All these people are all successful people in different aspects in life.

Apart from these, my study has almost come to an end. I finished my second last semester in year 2012. A few weeks later, I'm gonna' start my final semester then I'll be in a different stage of life. In fact, I'm actually looking forward to it.

Types of Dog Owners, regarding the issue "Spay & Neuter"

There are a lot of types of dog owners in this world as there are different kind of human in this world. Some are unexposed and uneducated to the facts, some are denying the facts and some are plain stupid about the reality.

Anyways, today I will unveil a few types of dog owners that go against "spay and neuter" because I've ran across enough to blog about it.

1. I got a male dog, so it's none of my business.

First and foremost, it's the typical owner who only wants to adopt/buy male dogs. The reason is simple, because their dogs have a stick sticking out from their stomach and two balls hanging between their legs. It's funny because that's the only difference I can see yet they are so hyped up about not getting a bitch (female dog). Tell me, why??

Actually, it's not about the stick or the balls. It's because of what the dogs can do with their stick and balls. First, they grow up and become naughtier, they only wanted to chew your slippers, now they want to find girlfriend. Then they start to sneak out of the house and rape some stray dogs, or even neighbour's dogs. What happens next? The female dogs get pregnant, and they say "It's none of my business, (still add hahaa)."

Really? I call that irresponsible dog owner, irresponsible neighbour and irresponsible citizen.

2. Why need to neuter? Very expensive leh.. I don't let my dog go out of my house can liao ma...

Another popular excuse that most people use. If money is an issue, you shouldn't even consider getting a pet in the first place. Lets just say you really very caring and good-hearted; want to help those stray puppies.. Spaying and neutering really are the best thing you can do for your dogs out of their 10+ years of life. Spend less on their food & toys, do the beneficiary thing first.

Secondly, I must say that it is quite impossible that your dog wouldn't get out of your house. Except if you chain it up, lock it up or hide it in your house. Even if you manage to do that, imagine that your dog grows up and starts to have the desire to mate. What happens when they don't get the chance? Wouldn't it be better to just spay/neuter them? They are much happier that way.

3. Animals have right to mate as well! Imagine if I cut your balls, would you like it?

Aduhmak... Come on la... Is it the same thing? Do you eat your dog kibbles? Do you pee in the street and smell my ass when you see me? It's different okay? I certainly don't remember it's illegal to neuter/spay your dog. You think your dogs love to mate? Really? You want your dog to sneak out of your house to find a boyfriend/girlfriend to mate? You think they like it or they need it?

I'll tell you what. My girl has 3 female dogs (bitch), named Cookie, Milkie and Butter. Both Cookie and Milkie are spayed and Butter will be spayed when she's old enough to. You think they are unhappy because they can't find boyfriends to mate?

You think they come to us and complain, "Why?! Why you cut away my thing (sorry, I'm bad with the terms), now that I can't have puppies. I hate you humans." You think that's what they think?

In fact, they are so happy with their lives, and they can forever live like our babies. You benefit from all these, especially when you can avoid the sagging ugly nipples when they are pregnant. Trust me, it's very unpleasant to the eyes.. As for male dogs, they stop spraying their urine all over your house. Fair enough?

4. My religion say cannot

Honestly, I won't touch on that. But I do have an auntie who's a Buddhist, very religious. Yet her dogs are all properly spayed, just like that. I believe it's because that she understand the importance of it and she thinks for the society. I'm sure your God will understand. ; )

5. The pros in re-homing

They claim that, "Stray puppies? I have re-homed more than 5 puppies (wahhhh, 5 only?). I don't see the need to neuter/spay them. If they produces offsprings, I can re-home them like I did before."

If you are really that good, please go volunteer at the SSPCA shelter or during their adoption campaign. They need you more than anything else. Another thing is that, it's not about you! Remember, not about you! So what if you can re-home them? Why don't you bother to re-home the dogs in the streets. Or you say it's none of your business because they are not bred by you?

What about the new adopters that adopted your dog? Are they good at it too? Even so, how many more can you re-home? You a specialist in this field? Doing sales from house to house? Except if you say you afford to keep all the offsprings after offsprings after offsprings after offsprings, etc etc. If not, please stop the nonsense.

Lastly, the idea of us asking you to spay/neuter your pet is not for the benefit of us, its for you and your animals. Most importantly, it's for the society.

If you still do not know why you should spay or neuter your pet. Please, do your research and start thinking about it. Thank you. :)

In Memories of Dr. Richard Teo (1972 - 2012)

I came across this post shared on Facebook. I find it very touching and meaningful. Somehow, I can reflect some of the things that he mentioned into my life. In the current society, where success and status are what people trying to achieve. We tend to forget the instinct of humanity, we become selfish and emotionless. We only think for ourselves and to benefit ourselves. I think the passage below unlocked certain locks in my mind and I wanna' share it with everyone. Also, for me to read back one day in the future.

It's a long one, but I assure you it's worth your time to read it and to feel it.

"Below is the transcript of the talk of Dr. Richard Teo, who is a 40-year-old millionaire and cosmetic surgeon with a stage-4 lung cancer but selflessly came to share with the D1 class his life experience on 19-Jan-2012. He has just passed away few days ago on 18 October 2012.

Hi good morning to all of you. My voice is a bit hoarse, so please bear with me. I thought I'll just introduce myself. My name is Richard, I'm a medical doctor. And I thought I'll just share some thoughts of my life. It's my pleasure to be invited by prof. Hopefully, it can get you thinking about how... as you pursue this.. embarking on your training to become dental surgeons, to think about other things as well.

Since young, I am a typical product of today's society. Relatively successful product that society requires.. From young, I came from a below average family. I was told by the media... and people around me that happiness is about success. And that success is about being wealthy. With this mind-set, I've always be extremely competitive, since I was young.

Not only do I need to go to the top school, I need to have success in all fields. Uniform groups, track, everything. I needed to get trophies, needed to be successful, I needed to have colours award, national colours award, everything. So I was highly competitive since young. I went on to medical school, graduated as a doctor. Some of you may know that within the medical faculty, ophthalmology is one of the most highly sought after specialities. So I went after that as well. I was given a traineeship in ophthalmology, I was also given a research scholarship by NUS to develop lasers to treat the eye.

So in the process, I was given 2 patents, one for the medical devices, and another for the lasers. And you know what, all this academic achievements did not bring me any wealth. So once I completed my bond with MOH, I decided that this is taking too long, the training in eye surgery is just taking too long. And there's lots of money to be made in the private sector. If you're aware, in the last few years, there is this rise in aesthetic medicine. Tons of money to be made there. So I decided, well, enough of staying in institution, it's time to leave. So I quit my training halfway and I went on to set up my aesthetic clinic... in town, together with a day surgery centre.

You know the irony is that people do not make heroes out average GP (general practitioner), family physicians. They don't. They make heroes out of people who are rich and famous. People who are not happy to pay $20 to see a GP, the same person have no qualms paying ten thousand dollars for a liposuction, 15 thousand dollars for a breast augmentation, and so on and so forth. So it's a no brainer isn't? Why do you want to be a gp? Become an aesthetic physician. So instead of healing the sick and ill, I decided that I'll become a glorified beautician. So, business was good, very good. It started off with waiting of one week, then became 3weeks, then one month, then 2 months, then 3 months. I was overwhelmed; there were just too many patients. Vanities are fantastic business. I employed one doctor, the second doctor, the 3rd doctor, the 4th doctor. And within the 1st year, we're already raking in millions. Just the 1st year. But never is enough because I was so obsessed with it. I started to expand into Indonesia to get all the rich Indonesian tai-tais who wouldn't blink an eye to have a procedure done. So life was really good.

So what do I do with the spare cash. How do I spend my weekends? Typically, I'll have car club gatherings. I take out my track car, with spare cash I got myself a track car. We have car club gatherings. We'll go up to Sepang in Malaysia. We'll go for car racing. And it was my life. With other spare cash, what do i do? I get myself a Ferrari. At that time, the 458 wasn't out, it's just a spider convertible, 430. This is a friend of mine, a schoolmate who is a forex trader, a banker. So he got a red one, he was wanting all along a red one, I was getting the silver one.

So what do I do after getting a car? It's time to buy a house, to build our own bungalows. So we go around looking for a land to build our own bungalows, we went around hunting. So how do i live my life? Well, we all think we have to mix around with the rich and famous. This is one of the Miss Universe. So we hang around with the beautiful, rich and famous. This by the way is an internet founder. So this is how we spend our lives, with dining and all the restaurants and Michelin Chefs you know.

So I reach a point in life that I got everything for my life. I was at the pinnacle of my career and all. That's me one year ago in the gym and I thought I was like, having everything under control and reaching the pinnacle.

Well, I was wrong. I didn't have everything under control. About last year March, I started to develop backache in the middle of nowhere. I thought maybe it was all the heavy squats I was doing. So I went to SGH, saw my classmate to do an MRI, to make sure it's not a slipped disc or anything. And that evening, he called me up and said that we found bone marrow replacement in your spine. I said, sorry what does that mean? I mean I know what it means, but I couldn't accept that. I was like “Are you serious?” I was still running around going to the gym you know. But we had more scans the next day, PET scans - positrons emission scans, they found that actually I have stage 4 terminal lung cancer. I was like "Whoa where did that come from?” It has already spread to the brain, the spine, the liver and the adrenals. And you know one moment I was there, totally thinking that I have everything under control, thinking that I've reached the pinnacle of my life. But the next moment, I have just lost it.

This is a CT scan of the lungs itself. If you look at it, every single dot there is a tumour. We call this miliaries tumour. And in fact, I have tens of thousands of them in the lungs. So, I was told that even with chemotherapy, that I'll have about 3-4months at most. Did my life come crushing on, of course it did, who wouldn't? I went into depression, of course, severe depression and I thought I had everything.

See the irony is that all these things that I have, the success, the trophies, my cars, my house and all. I thought that brought me happiness. But i was feeling really down, having severe depression. Having all these thoughts of my possessions, they brought me no joy. The thought of... You know, I can hug my Ferrari to sleep, no... No, it is not going to happen. It brought not a single comfort during my last ten months. And I thought they were, but they were not true happiness. But it wasn't. What really brought me joy in the last ten months was interaction with people, my loved ones, friends, people who genuinely care about me, they laugh and cry with me, and they are able to identify the pain and suffering I was going through. That brought joy to me, happiness. None of the things I have, all the possessions, and I thought those were supposed to bring me happiness. But it didn't, because if it did, I would have felt happy think about it, when I was feeling most down..

You know the classical Chinese New Year that is coming up. In the past, what do I do? Well, I will usually drive my flashy car to do my rounds, visit my relatives, to show it off to my friends. And I thought that was joy, you know. I thought that was really joy. But do you really think that my relatives and friends, whom some of them have difficulty trying to make ends meet, that will truly share the joy with me? Seeing me driving my flashy car and showing off to them? No, no way. They won’t be sharing joy with me. They were having problems trying to make ends meet, taking public transport. In fact i think, what I have done is more like you know, making them envious, jealous of all I have. In fact, sometimes even hatred.

Those are what we call objects of envy. I have them, I show them off to them and I feel it can fill my own pride and ego. That didn't bring any joy to these people, to my friends and relatives, and I thought they were real joy.

Well, let me just share another story with you. You know when I was about your age, I stayed in king Edward VII hall. I had this friend whom I thought was strange. Her name is Jennifer, we're still good friends. And as I walk along the path, she would, if she sees a snail, she would actually pick up the snail and put it along the grass patch. I was like why do you need to do that? Why dirty your hands? It’s just a snail. The truth is she could feel for the snail. The thought of being crushed to death is real to her, but to me it's just a snail. If you can't get out of the pathway of humans then you deserve to be crushed, it’s part of evolution isn't it? What an irony isn't it?

There I was being trained as a doctor, to be compassionate, to be able to empathise; but I couldn't. As a house officer, I graduated from medical school, posted to the oncology department at NUH. And, every day, every other day I witness death in the cancer department. When I see how they suffered, I see all the pain they went through. I see all the morphine they have to press every few minutes just to relieve their pain. I see them struggling with their oxygen breathing their last breath and all. But it was just a job. When I went to clinic every day, to the wards every day, take blood, give the medication but was the patient real to me? They weren't real to me. It was just a job, I do it, I get out of the ward, I can't wait to get home, I do my own stuff.

Was the pain, was the suffering the patients went through real? No. Of course I know all the medical terms to describe how they feel, all the suffering they went through. But in truth, I did not know how they feel, not until I became a patient. It is until now; I truly understand how they feel. And, if you ask me, would I have been a very different doctor if I were to re-live my life now, I can tell you yes I will. Because I truly understand how the patients feel now. And sometimes, you have to learn it the hard way.

Even as you start just your first year, and you embark this journey to become dental surgeons, let me just challenge you on two fronts.

Inevitably, all of you here will start to go into private practice. You will start to accumulate wealth. I can guarantee you. Just doing an implant can bring you thousands of dollars, it's fantastic money. And actually there is nothing wrong with being successful, with being rich or wealthy, absolutely nothing wrong. The only trouble is that a lot of us like myself couldn't handle it.

Why do I say that? Because when I start to accumulate, the more I have, the more I want. The more I wanted, the more obsessed I became. Like what I showed you earlier on, all I can was basically to get more possessions, to reach the pinnacle of what society did to us, of what society wants us to be. I became so obsessed that nothing else really mattered to me. Patients were just a source of income, and I tried to squeeze every single cent out of these patients.

A lot of times we forget, whom we are supposed to be serving. We become so lost that we serve nobody else but just ourselves. That was what happened to me. Whether it is in the medical, the dental fraternity, I can tell you, right now in the private practice, sometimes we just advise patients on treatment that is not indicated. Grey areas. And even though it is not necessary, we kind of advocate it. Even at this point, I know who are my friends and who genuinely cared for me and who are the ones who try to make money out of me by selling me "hope". We kind of lose our moral compass along the way. Because we just want to make money.

Worse, I can tell you, over the last few years, we bad mouth our fellow colleagues, our fellow competitors in the industry. We have no qualms about it. So if we can put them down to give ourselves an advantage, we do it. And that's what happening right now, medical, dental everywhere. My challenge to you is not to lose that moral compass. I learnt it the hard way, I hope you don't ever have to do it.

Secondly, a lot of us will start to get numb to our patients as we start to practise. Whether is it government hospitals, private practice, I can tell you when I was in the hospital, with stacks of patient folders, I can't wait to get rid of those folders as soon as possible; I can't wait to get patients out of my consultation room as soon as possible because there is just so many, and that's a reality. Because it becomes a job, a very routine job. And this is just part of it. Do I truly know how the patient feels back then? No, I don't. The fears and anxiety and all, do I truly understand what they are going through? I don't, not until when this happens to me and I think that is one of the biggest flaws in our system.

We’re being trained to be healthcare providers, professional, and all and yet we don't know how exactly they feel. I'm not asking you to get involved emotionally, I don't think that is professional but do we actually make a real effort to understand their pain and all? Most of us won’t, alright, I can assure you. So don't lose it, my challenge to you is to always be able to put yourself in your patient's shoes.

Because the pain, the anxiety, the fear are very real even though it's not real to you, it's real to them. So don't lose it and you know, right now I'm in the midst of my 5th cycle of my chemotherapy. I can tell you it’s a terrible feeling. Chemotherapy is one of those things that you don't wish even your enemies to go through because it's just suffering, lousy feeling, throwing out, you don't even know if you can retain your meals or not. Terrible feeling! And even with whatever little energy now I have, I try to reach out to other cancer patients because I truly understand what pain and suffering is like. But it's kind of little too late and too little.

You guys have a bright future ahead of you with all the resource and energy, so I’m going to challenge you to go beyond your immediate patients. To understand that there are people out there who are truly in pain, truly in hardship. Don’t get the idea that only poor people suffer. It is not true. A lot of these poor people do not have much in the first place, they are easily contented. for all you know they are happier than you and me but there are out there, people who are suffering mentally, physically, hardship, emotionally, financially and so on and so forth, and they are real. We choose to ignore them or we just don't want to know that they exist.

So do think about it alright, even as you go on to become professionals and dental surgeons and all. That you can reach out to these people who are in need. Whatever you do can make a large difference to them. I'm now at the receiving end so I know how it feels, someone who genuinely care for you, encourage and all. It makes a lot of difference to me. That’s what happens after treatment. I had a treatment recently, but I’ll leave this for another day. A lot of things happened along the way, that's why I am still able to talk to you today.

I'll just end of with this quote here, it's from this book called Tuesdays with Morris, and some of you may have read it. Everyone knows that they are going to die; every one of us knows that. The truth is, none of us believe it because if we did, we will do things differently. When I faced death, when I had to, I stripped myself off all stuff totally and I focused only on what is essential. The irony is that a lot of times, only when we learn how to die then we learn how to live. I know it sounds very morbid for this morning but it's the truth, this is what I’m going through.

Don’t let society tell you how to live. Don’t let the media tell you what you're supposed to do. Those things happened to me. And I led this life thinking that these are going to bring me happiness. I hope that you will think about it and decide for yourself how you want to live your own life. Not according to what other people tell you to do, and you have to decide whether you want to serve yourself, whether you are going to make a difference in somebody else's life. Because true happiness doesn't come from serving yourself. I thought it was but it didn't turn out that way. With that I thank you."

Addiction

This part of my life, is called addiction. Addiction is so overwhelming that you don't realize you got addicted. I felt anxiety and depression after "using" but my mind kept on wanting more. This sounds kinda crazy, but I didn't know I got addicted until recently. It's kinda crazy when you think it's okay but deep inside of you, things already went out of order. It's overwhelming and I lost it.

I'm not addicted to smoking, drugs, alcohol or anything like that. What I'm addicted is my curiosity towards certain things; unpleasant things, awful things and mind-disturbing things. It's nothing useful to my life and it damages the brain. It's okay if you can filter the information and continue to life your life but it's not as easy as I thought. I thought I could at first, but I couldn't. I felt depressed and down. My mind went from positive to negative and it's too unhealthy to me physically and mentally.

It was kinda interesting at first and I started sharing them with my friends. Well, you wanna' share about the stuffs that you found out and you're tempted to discuss it among your friends. I thought it was fun and adventurous. I never thought that it could be so painful and mind-disturbing. It's okay when I started researching, but when sadness and fear kicks in, everything started to fall apart.

I wake up moody, depressed and life seems dull and twisted. All the negative kicks in and I can't see anything positive in my life. Light started to dim and I couldn't crawl out of this vicious hole. It's threatening and I felt instability. Fortunately, I'm glad that I wasn't too late to realize that I was trapped in that nightmare.

It sounds crazy but I really don't know how to put those emotions and feelings into words. I hope it helps by saying out what I have gone through. I promise, I'll control the information that I take and avoid as much as I can.

Some introduction if you haven't know...

I'm pursuing my BA (Hons) in Graphic Design at Limkokwing Institute. So what is Graphic Design? It's actually really simple to understand, Graphic Design is actually all around your life and you didn't realize that it is produced by Graphic Designers.

For example...

1. The logo of your favourite brands, Nike, Adidas, Apple, McDonalds and many more.

2. The CD/DVD Cover of your favourite singers/movies.

3. The movie posters you see in the cinema.

4. The banners, signage, signboard, your favourite keropok packaging is all done by us.

For instance, can you imagine what's it is like when somebody mention Secret Recipe and Mita Cake House? Do you think that Secret Recipe just happen to look good in a way? No way, it is because its identity is designed by Graphic Designers.

So please, appreciate the work that we do in this community. :)

A lot of people are asking me what Graphic Designers do. Sometimes, I really don't know how to react.

Anyways, for this Semester, I got 5 modules in my final year. It's crazy and we got to deal with it.

1. Graphic Futures - Major

Design Stuffs, about ourselves.

2. Research Project - Major

Thesis, period.

3. Introduction to Image Media - Minor

Image manipulation, corporate image.

4. Motion Graphic - Minor

Graphics that moves.

5. Communication Theory - Minor

English.

Brain Stimulation

In today's economy, lets just say you already own a decent house and a decent car. One day, you strike 6D and win RM 1,000,000. A million Ringgit in your bank account. What do you intend to do with that million Ringgit in your hand. Think about it and figure that answer out. It's a good exercise for your brain and also good for you to find out some information in the process.

Of course, only if you take my question seriously. Then you'll go get the answer. :)

Haircut Diary

Decided to get myself a haircut before my hair goes out of order. I used to to go to the one in Crown Square, I really like my hair done by Alan. He'd never failed me and it's fun visiting him because he got lots of joke to share around. However, it's really far away from my house so I was thinking of trying some other barber/salon in town.

But, I really do recommend trying the one in Crown Square, 1st floor, near the toilet area. It's really great, do try it out if you don't have a preferred hair-stylist in mind. I strongly recommend to go there and check it out for yourself.

This time around, I had visited a barber shop near my place. It's located somewhere behind Boulevard Mall, it's really just a small business but I decided to give it a try.

Before my haircut, my hair sure looked like a mess.

In the shop, it's really just a small corner. I'm not sure of the business over there. My hair was done by an auntie. I told her that I wanted to get my hair done like...

That. Just kidding.

In the end, I look something like that. Overall I'm okay satisfied with it. What more can I ask for, it only cost me RM 8 for that service. I thought it was definitely worth it. I'm pretty sure that it'll be my budget barber shop in near future.

Sorry, I didn't get the name of the barber shop. Will update after I get it. :)

I'm human, not gee-o-dee

Haven't got the time to update recently. A lot of things happened. Things that changed the way on how I see things and people. I think it's a good thing on the brighter side because I get to improve myself on this area.

First of all, I'm not an evil person. I'm not born into this world to hurt people's feeling. If I did, certainly that wasn't an intention. I don't steal, I don't kill and I'm just a normal person living a normal life. Some people may find me annoying, some people may find me being an ass.

I can't control about how people feel towards me, and I never expect myself to please everyone in my life. Human have flaws and weaknesses and we have to accept that. Sure it doesn't feel good, but what can I do? Even Justin Bieber has haters, what more can I expect?

I certainly don't like myself to be hated by people, but it does happen when I did something wrong, made fun of people or try to trash talk to people. Stuffs like that do happen, but I won't know that I'm hurting anybody if people don't tell me. I certainly don't wanna' hurt people. Why would I, right? I'm not evil after all.

I can only apologize to the people I've made fun of, hurt, or causing them to feel uneasy on my behavior/actions/etc. I sincerely do wanna' apologize for misbehaving and my actions.

But I don't like being accused of being a mean guy before you ever confronted me. If you come up to me and tell me that I was being too harsh on the types of word that I use for example, sure I get the chance to correct myself and apologize. But if you just keep it in your mind and ASSUMED that I'm that mean and evil man?

It just feels so sad as it feels like you've never been sincere to me in my whole life. We've been going out for tea, going out for games, going out for balls and talked about stuffs that happened throughout our life and deep inside your heart, I'm just another mean person that you dislike at times.

Trust is like a piece of glass, once broken, you don't really know if you can perfectly put them back into pieces. That's something I feel right now. Can I still trust you people? Are you being sincere towards me?

I easily get angry all the time, I get frustrated, I love, I hate, I feel sad, I like, I dislike and the lists goes on. There's always positive and negative. Right and wrong as I'm only a human with flaws, I'm not perfect.

If you feel that you can only remember the negative side of me, what's more for me to do?

Yesterday, I attended an event quite happening as it was attended by all the public and private universities in Kuching. Of course, not all the students are attending, only the selected one. I really don't know if it's an honour to be able to attend such event. Honestly, I'd rather stay at home.

The event was held in Pullman Hotel, Colosseum I and the hall was full. The event started with a speech by some guy then by the Chief Minister of Sarawak himself. I did a recording of the speech by him, thought of uploading it here to share with all the youth. But his speech is so long that it lasted 30 minutes and I don't think a lot of people wanna' listen to him except if you're feeling too bore at the moment?

Anyways, the whole thing is to encourage us to register ourselves at ouryouth.my. It's a platform where we can voice out our ideas and thoughts for the development of Kuching and also as a social network platform where ideas can be shared and more. I believe they also update the news and events that are happening in Kuching.

The event lasted for more than 4 hours but I left earlier because I had something else to do. I think the coolest thing about that event is that I think I'll be on TV or the newspaper. Didn't check the news and paper today. If you happen to see my face, do let me know. :)

The other cool thing about this event is that I get to witness the power of those flashing cameras working at its best. It's like some super cool thing to look at and I even had a video about it. It's at the previous post.

I think it's time to write something about me.

Hello everybody, my name is Mikhael. Yeap, it's true that it's a name given by myself and not by my parents. I like the name 'Michael' is because a lot of awesome people I know of uses that name too, such as Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, Michael Jackson, Michael Schumacher, Michael Kors, Michael Scolfield, and the lists goes on.

However, I changed the letter 'C' to the letter 'K' because I wanted it to look more special. I didn't really care how it is spelled. As long it's pronounced the same, then I'm fine with it.

I'm currently pursuing my Degree in Graphic Design. I currently am studying in a private institution in my hometown here in Kuching, but I'm going through a British Degree by Anglia Ruskin University. So meaning to say that I'll get a British Certificate once I graduated. Kinda cool right?

One of my assignment - SSPCA

The above attachment is one of the assignments I did and topic was SSPCA. I'll elaborate about that hopefully someday in near future.

My passion in Graphic Design was developed when I was sixteen, I was still in high school and I already started playing with photoshop. I started designing banners, avatars and signatures for forum. It was more of a game-related design. Now, it's kinda' obvious to me that I love to design for myself, and not for commercial usage. I'll explain about that someday in the future in my blog. I'm pretty sure and confident to say that I'm not gonna' work as a Graphic Designer in the future, but I'll probably gonna' put my skills into my business, as a hobby or it will be just merely a skill I possess.

Going through college to me is really just another process of life and I strongly believe that, education is overrated. I believe in other knowledges that will bring me somewhere in the future rather than just become another employee working a 9 to 5 job. It's a long story going through that kind of thought process, the people I have met for the past few months and how these events had changed my life.

My hobbies consists of playing basketball, bodybuilding and shopping. I know it's kinda' weird for a man to say that his hobby is shopping, but I really do enjoy shopping. The feeling when buying new stuffs feels good, that's a little crazy but I haven't really experience the feeling of shopping like mad. Another thing, I hate window shopping though. Except if I were surveying for goods. Of course, I enjoy cooking and eating the food I cooked as well.

I love dogs, I am a dog person. I love how dogs can be so connected to human beings. I love the process of raising up a dog from its puppyhood. I love training dogs, and I love to know what I am doing. I try to figure out the right way to handle a dog and it's another knowledge for me. When I do something, I love to do it right. It's normal to have failures in the process, but it's the effort and determination that matters. It's okay to fail, as it's better than not trying. Oh by the way, my favourite dog breed is the German Shepherd.

I wanna' travel to cool places. I dream of traveling to the States someday. I enjoy viewing cool skyscrapers, I enjoy watching the views and sceneries from great destinations, ~~I enjoy watching porn~~ and I enjoy experiencing big cities like New York, Miami and Dubai. In fact, my plan is to visit Dubai before the age of 30 and I'd love to spend some time over there enjoying the superb lifestyle of the rich people. Dubai is definitely a place like no other.

A book that I bought to understand more about dog training.

I'm a type of guy that is curious to find things out, if it happens to bother me. I'll try to get the answers no matter what. I'm also the type of guy that believes in myself and I really believe I can achieve something great if I really want it badly. It's all about how badly you want it.

There are also a few inspirational figure and public figure that I idolize that I wanna' share with you all. These are the people that I listen to and watch to all the time.

Music Industry: Taiwanese Star, Jay Chou.

Singer, director, actor, producer and the list goes on. I listen to his songs since I was in primary school, and I'm still listening to them. I can't really list my favourite songs here as I love almost all of his songs. Almost..

Movie Industry: Will Smith, and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson

Will Smith is another huge movie star. I watched most of his films such as iRobot, Men in Black, Hitch, Pursuit of Happyness, and etcetera. Definitely a cool guy.

Former football star, former WWE Superstar and currently an actor. Enjoyed his film, definitely a great guy with cool personality. He got the looks, the charisma, the kind of energy and character. Don't be fooled by his looks and act from wrestling, he's a friendly and nice guy. My number one favourite of all time.

Basketball: Michael Jordan, and LeBron James.

I'm a basketball fan. I've gone though the documentaries of this basketball legend, Michael Jordan. He's almost achieved everything in the world of basketball that a NBA player can dream of. In the world of basketball, who else to love besides him?

The current superstar and the face of the NBA. Love his dominance on the court and his unique ability and physique. Love his kicks.

Bodybuilding: The Rock Johnson, and Andrew Vu.

I'm a believer in Cesar's way. I have been practicing his techniques and values about dog training/dog psychology and I'm impressed with these small little details that we usually overlooked. He's the truly, one and only, Dog Whisperer.

Steve Jobs. The guy whom reinvented the phone, computers and revolutionize modern technology. Changed the way we listen to music, changed the way we utilize our computers. He's truly an amazing guy and I enjoyed every one of his speech during WWDC. He's a genius.

I am who I am today because I let myself inspire by wonderful people. I can't be neither one of them, but I think I can become a better person because of all these great people.

Words can't really describe who I am, that's all I can think of writing at the moment.
