Welcome to the Mixing Creativity with Crystal Lacquer Blog Hop featuring Terri Sproul Mixers!! You already know that I"m a fan of Sakura Hobby Crafts 3D Crystal Lacquer, and if you have been paying attention you know I'm also a fan of Terri Sproul's Mixers. I loved the opportunity to play with these beautiful micas and chunky glitz vintage glass glitter!! I hope you enjoy my motivational sign that I made for my creative space!

Here is what you need to make it:

6×6" thick acrylic

Lutradur® Mixed Media weight [shapes cut with Sizzix Big Shot]

Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer

Terri Sproul Mixers : Gold Dust, Pink Sapphire, Tanzanite, Citrine, Red Pearl Shimmer

Steampunk Parts from Sakura

a saying--I chose a quote art piece from Niki at MelonHeadz Illustrating.

I cut shapes of Lutradur® with the Big Shot and painted
them with Terri Sproul Mixers and Crystal Lacquer. I used
piece of card stock and a piece of paper for the overage
and those pieces were cut and punched to create
elements for the collage.

I used Crystal Lacquer on the edge of the acrylic and dipped
it in the Tanzanite Mixer dusting of f the excess once it was dry.

Pink Sapphire mixers were painted onto the edge of the saying
and the saying was attached to the underside of the acrylic with
Crystal Lacquer. The elements were attached to the front of the
Acrylic with the lacquer as well as were the Steampunk gears.
Gold thread was wrapped around the edges of the acrylic to
imply a frame. The end was secured with hot glue.

Festive Friday #4 2♥12 | Acrylic front Wonderland

The Festive Friday Blog Hop is hosted by Terri Sproul. This bi-monthly blog hop features Holiday cards from many talented card crafters as we get our Christmas cards ready early this year. If you reached this stop from Terri's Blog Terri Sproul , then you are in the right spot--she is also the beginning of the blog!

For this card I used a random piece of coredinations card stock that had gotten wet and then when dried left some interesting pattering with the dye in the card stock--a happy whoopsie if you will. I used my favorite outline stickers by Starkraft on an acrylic 4" square and colored the outline of the trees black with India Ink by Stewart Superior. I then used Sakura Glitter Lacquer to color the trees and silver metallic lacquer to make snow mounds. I covered the snow mounds with Terri Sproul's new Ultra Fine Glitter. I added silver outline snowflakes and stars to the card stock and attached the acrylic to the card stock with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer. I added more outlines snowflakes on top placing a crystal bling in each center. The acrylic front was added to a 5"square card base that had only a 2" front lip...so that the acrylic over hangs the lip of the card. I added a bit of polka-dotted green Crafty Ribbons Ribbon to the side for accent. I really enjoy how this fun little card turned out! I hope you do too.

Crafty Ribbons Challenge #13 | Paws for Thought

It's time now for a new Crafty Ribbons Challenge and this one is totally fun! When I saw the ribbons from the latest design team shipment I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I needed to make a princess puppy hair bow.

My daughter LOVES dogs. Christmas before last she asked Santa for a leash. When I asked her "why a leash?," she commented "for my dog of course!" We had a cat, a turtle and a frog--no dog. Santa in his infinite wisdom brought Fancy Pants a "dog". Emma Dog was a stuffed Build-A-Bear Yorkie and she had a blingy pink leash and a princess outfit. Fancy Pants like-wise has several shirts with the princess theme and puppy themes. A princess puppy hair bow is almost a necessity!

I used these fun new puppy paw ribbons along with the princess crown ribbon and the "princess" ribbon. All ribbons are grosgrain ribbons. The finished bow is attached with hot glue to a clip so that it can be worn in the hair easily! Thank you for looking!

Weekly Challenge | Use Your Scraps

Welcome to another Delightful Challenges weekly challenge...this week we're creating projects use up our scaps! All stamps are available at Digital Delights by Louby Loo! I hope you enjoy my card.

By nature I struggle with scraps...I am an upcycler and appreciate the reusing of items [for example I have a few boards on pinterest that I follow that are about nothing but upcycling toilet paper rolls]. However, when it comes to scraps, I'm torn (pardon the pun). On the one hand I can save them for use with my punch art...and I L O V E all things punch art. BUT I already have such a huge supply of paper hanging on to one scrap...that is less than 4×4" is hardly in my nature--unless it's a piece of paper that I'm so in love with that I don't want to cut it, let alone get rid of any scrap of it! ha! Yes, it's one extreme or the other, I know.

The paper in this paper pack falls into the category of the latter. This is my 2nd purchase of this pad of paper. I simply love it. These particular pieces don't reflect it's true beauty as it is from a pad that has embedded glitter--Pocket Full of Posies by Die Cuts with a View!!! The piece of acrylic is also a scrap. I had die cut ATCs [for a previous post] out of 4×4" squares of acrylic. The left over piece resembled a frame. I decided that the frame would be fun to attach the bow--a scrap piece of ribbon-- and the printed ticket--printed on a scrap piece of DCWV paper. I hope you enjoy my card!

For my project I made a a pair of tweed red finger-less Valentine gloves with a molded resin steampunk button!

I adapted a pattern from the Midnight Crocheter, which I will make into a downloadable available for you next week. I love how these turned out. they're warm and allow me to function with my fingers for things like handling money, writing, texting. I can't wait for it to finally get cool enough to wear them in public! I hope you like my gloves!

Festive Friday #3 2♥12 | My Flakey Friend

For this card I chose a Viva Las VegaStamps! background to make the snow. I stamped over Wassail Basic Grey snow paper and layered more Basic Grey with torn edges to make "snow." I made a simple snow man with Delight Paperclay and stamped into him with Stampin Up Snowflake Flurries. I added black seed beads to make the snowman's features and colored the carrot nose with BIC Mark-its. A Crafty Ribbons ribbon made his scarf and bow. I love it! I hope you enjoy him too!

L♥VE-ly Week Ahead!

Hi folks! To borrow a catch phrase from one of my favorite people Sandy Allnock of Operation Write Home [she always brings me a smile], I have "2 things and a HOP" [ok, she says "rant", you will soon understand]!

Thing #1: I am in full swing on Valentine's Day preparations for the family and will be focusing on that on Friday's leslierahye's crafty gig! Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays and I love to craft for it. I have been working on several projects that I'm getting finished up this week and hope to make it a special show for you sharing some ideas and crafts.

Thing #2: In case you've noticed, I took a mini-break from posting this past week except for pre-scheduled posts for my challenge design teams. A very dear friend of mine passed and I had been taking some personal time to collect my heart. I'm better. I'm ready to get writing again! I hope you missed me and are some ready for some fun projects. As a result of my "break" you missed seeing the followup from my crafty gig on the last Friday of January. I will post the followup to that crafty gig and to the upcoming crafty gig together next week! I hope you enjoy the final projects!

For this card I used this yummy sheer ribbon combine with Basic Grey papers from the wisteria collection and solids collection. I am always needing a thank you card for my guy friends who help out with projects with my son for scouting and 4H and these beautiful manly ribbons make creating these cards super easy. A square knot is used to create my man-bow--or "mow" as my son termed it! Thank you for looking!

Welcome to another Delightful Challenges weekly challenge...this week we're creating projects with Wendy's new stamp release!!! These stamps are just precious!! I could not stop creating!

For my Design Team Challenge I created with Luvvy Bear with his Balloons! Such a sweet stamp. I also used the new Sweetheart Paper pack to paperpiece his ears, feet and belly and the balloons. For a final embellishment to meet the demands of the challenge, I punched some sweet little flowers out of the dotty paper in the Sweetheart Paper Pack and stamped with my eraser the centers of the flowers. Love this little bear! These new stamps and papers can be found at Digital Delights by Louby Loo! I hope you enjoy my cards

For this card I used Cuddle Bunny from the new release and printed it out on the digital papers [using the PNG format of the stamp]. I paper pieced the image together making the various shapes the different patterns of paper. I accented my bunny with a punched flower in her ear. Thank you for looking!

Love Cast in Clay Blog Hop | Molded Love Notes Notepads

Thanks for joining this amazing group of blogs. This is two Design teams using both Amazing Mold Putty and Creative Paperclay® to create amazing project for you

I began by punching the holes of my love notes cover
with my Bind-it-all. The finished cover will not fit into
Bind-it-All that I have so the holes will mold and
allow me to cut them with a craft knife later.
I then wrote "love notes" on the cover .

To make the yarn easier to manipulate, I applied glue
to the enter length of yarn and on the letters. I then
lined up the yarn starting with the "l". When I got to the
end of the "e", I brought the yard around the perimeter
of the 4×2½" cover, making the heart by looping
the yarn.

I completed the word "notes" and added glue to
areas of the cover that appeared to be lifting. I
set the cover aside to dry completely before
attempting to mold it.

I conditioned equal parts of Amazing Mold Putty part A and
part B. I worked quickly to cover the note pad cover and used
my brayer to smooth the back of the mold so if I later wanted
to cast the cover with Amazing Clear Cast or Amazing Casting
Resin it would make for an even pour. I sat the mold aside to cure.

Once cured I removed the original to inspect my mold. I loved it.

Experiments led me to use the Creative Paperclay Delight. The
Delight is super light and makes an incredible impression in the
mold. it dries super quick--a process which can be sped up in
a warm oven. I made sure to brayer my Delight in the mold to
have a smooth back for my cover.

I un-molded my Delight cover in white. Pleased with the results
I next added a touch of pink pant to the delight and molded a
pink cover as well. Once the molded pieced dried, I trimmed off
the edges of the cover and used a craft knife to cut the holes to
bind my cover to the base of the book.

When painting the Delight, I used Sakura 3D Crystal lacquer
mixed with Alumilite Gold Metallic Powder--which melts so pretty
in the lacquer, and Terri Sproul's Mixers in Red Satin to high-
light the yarn words. I lightly brushed the gold in a transparent
layer on the face of the cover and in a more opaque manner
around the edges.

Once dry I stacked the cover, the punched inner pages, and the
backing board in the order as it should look once bound.

I then flipped the back board over on the front of the cover
and threaded the wires into the cover so that the "u" rested
inside the back cover. I crimped my coil in my Bind-it-All
to create my Love Notes Notebook. I added Crafty Ribbons
Ribbon from the Ladybug bargain bag to the coils.

For this card I chose stamps from plate 1363 from Viva Las VegaStamps! The B E S T part about these stamps is.... I WON THEM!!! OH YEAH! This plate of holiday stamps was my favorite all holiday season and I love them!!! Santa checking his list is super easy to color and looks stunning in Terri Sproul's Mixers!!! I stamped the image on a piece of red and colored the parts that would not be red with mixers and prismacolor pencils and accented the edge of him with brown chalk to make him pop off the red! I love it! I hope you enjoy him too!

What am amazing start to leslierahye's scrappy gig!! I'm so glad so many could join me on my 1st scrapbook broadcast!! AND I'm pleased to add that I finished 2 layouts!!! whoo hoo!! only 50 more to go! Baby steps, right? Gill's Glitter & Bling Blog Hop | Day 2 Glittery Blinged Jewelry Box

Welcome to Gill's Glitter and Bling Blog Hop--Day 2! You should have hopped here from Zenita's Scrappin with Z blog. If you just happened upon our blog hop you can start from the top of the hop with our hostess Gill at her blog Creations by Gill.

This is day 2 of a glitterific blog hop an today's project from me is an upcycled project. I've taken a Ferrero Rocher plastic container and made it into this blingy glitterific jewelry case for my daughter. She is getting more and more little bracelets and necklaces and such and needs a special box to put them in!

I painted the inside of the box with Plaid FolkArt Extreme Glitter in Pink and Silver. I then painted the inside of the lid with Alumilite Silver Metallic Powder and Sakura Hobby Craft 3D Crystal Lacquer. I painted the top of the box with Liquitex Matte Gel Medium and glittered it with Pink Provocraft Super Fine glitter and Martha Stewart white gold super fine glitter. I blinged up the outside of the box with various pink and crystal bling and lined the inside of the box with Hot Pink Felt.
