In the North African country of Morocco lies the city of Marrakech. A city of narrow meandering alley ways leading to the center of the "old city" or Medina. Spicy smells, vibrant colorful sights and the strange and somewhat eerie monotone of chanting echo through well placed loud speakers.... All accomapany you as you make your way through the city. By far one of the most foreign and interesting places I've ever had the opportunity to visit.

It may be gray outside, but it's always green in these moss terrariums. We used kitchen canisters, which are readily available and inexpensive; their tight-fitting lids capture the condensation the plants require to thrive.

Moss is all you need for a charming scene -- and it may even sprout appealing "woodland weeds," as in the versions on the far left and far right. But you can add other small plants, such as the orchid, second from left, or the Pilea 'Tiny Tears,' second from right.

For the terrarium, cover the bottom of a jar with horticultural charcoal (doitbest.com), and then put in a layer of potting soil no more than an inch thick. Add plants if you'd like, and then cover the soil with sheet, cushion, or clump moss (have a florist order it for you). Make sure that any leaves, petals, and stems do not touch the glass. Spritz twice with water, and place the lid on the jar.

Keep terrarium in a spot with diffuse light. If too much condensation forms, give the terrarium a little less light or remove the top for two hours.

Today was my first photography lesson(hint-One of my New Year's resolution). If you write it down, it is truly surprising how it helps to make it happen. Make a commitment to one or more lasting personal goals, projects, or kick or develop a habit. Take time out to ask yourself what you want for the new year, be selfish, and do something for you! I looked everywhere for a Christmas drink to create for guests during the holiday. Creative Culinary had the most festive fizz cocktail I could find, and I will be giving it a try! This is their recipe and please visit their blog for more ideas by clicking here.

Cranberry Ginger Fizz Cocktail

Total time: 11 mins

Serves: 4

Ingredients

3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1 cup fresh cranberries
1 lemon, cut into wedges
1/2 orange, cut into slices
1 1/2 cups dry gin – Bombay Sapphire, Beefeater or Tangueray suggested
1 cup chilled Ginger Ale
4 mint springs

Preparation

Bring sugar and water to a boil in a medium saucepan, stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; pour off all but one cup of syrup, reserving any extra for another use.
Heat the syrup to a boil and then reduce heat to medium. Add the cranberries and simmer for 2-3 minutes until they just begin to burst. Remove from heat and let cool in syrup.
Place 2 Tablespoons drained cranberries and 6 Tablespoons cranberry syrup in a large pitcher; add the lemon wedges and orange slices.
Using a muddler or wooden spoon, vigorously mash the fruit.
Stir in gin and let steep for at least 5 minutes.
Strain into a medium pitcher.
Fill 4 glasses with crushed ice and 1/4 cup ginger ale.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and then pour half the cranberry mixture into the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 seconds, strain liquid into two glasses. Repeat.
Mound additional ice on top of each glass and garnish with 3 candied cranberries and a mint sprig.

I recommend traveling to Germany at Christmas! Streets are festively decorated, and Christmas Markets are there to explore. I have experienced Cologne, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, and Muenster. The markets offer local crafts, food-sampling, "Glühwein" hot spiced wine, "Lebkuchen" gingerbread cookies, "Christstollen" yeast cakes and a lot more. Christmas Markets start late November and operating until the end of December.

I do interior design, and I always get asked to decorate for parties for the holidays. I love decorating for parties because it allows you to be real creative. My client that I am featuring wanted his house decorated in a manly-style with not a lot of fuss. I had to twist his arm to put up a few bows and behind my back he took half of them down. I kept with the same color scheme of red and silver and used a lot of greenery. I used antlers as my "manly" theme through-out the decorating. Every picture showcases antlers in some way. See if you can spot them out. This is my interpretation of his style. He was completely happy when all was up and lights were on. I had so much fun decorating and wanted to show you once it was all done. Oh, by the way, all antlers are faux. No animals were harmed to get this look:) Follow me on PINTEREST HERE.

The first Bow is up! I pieced the deer and balls on the wreath and added a big burlap bow.

There is nothing better in the winter than a faux fur throw. In the summer we change it up with a lighter throw.

Balance is key when decorating. We had to take out some furniture in the room to make room for the tree.

This is easy to do on a tray. Just put greenery balls and a centerpiece. Our centerpiece is this wonderful faux antler.

Left Over Turkey From Your Thanksgiving Holiday.

Skinnytaste.com has a great recipe for your left over turkey from Thanksgiving.

Ingredients:

6 cups homemade turkey stock (or low sodium canned)
1 bay leaf
1 cup diced carrot
3/4 chopped onion
3/4 cup diced celery
2 garlic cloves, minced
salt to taste
freshly ground black pepper
1/4 chopped parsley
3 oz uncooked egg noodles
2 cups leftover shredded turkey (about 8 ounces)

Directions:

Fill a large saucepan with homemade turkey stock (or canned). Add bay leaf, carrots, onion, celery, garlic, salt and pepper to taste and simmer 10-15 minutes, until the vegetables are soft. Add parsley, noodles and shredded turkey; cook according to noodle directions, about 5 minutes.

Discard bay leaf and serve.

serve with warmed sour dough bread.
