In 3D computer graphics, 3D modeling (also known as meshing) is the process of developing amathematical representation of any three-dimensional surface of object (either inanimate or living) via specialized software. The product is called a 3D model. It can be displayed as a two-dimensional image through a process called 3D rendering or used in a computer simulation of physical phenomena. The model can also be physically created using 3D Printing devices.
Models may be created automatically or manually. The manual modeling process of preparing geometric data for 3D computer graphics is similar to plastic arts such as sculpting [via]

SHE’S only tiny – and hubby Orlando Bloom is no man mountain either – but supermodel Miranda Kerr has given birth to a big and healthy baby boy

Kerr’s baby weighed in at a healthy 4.5kg – almost 10 pounds in the old scale – her grandmother Ann Kerr revealed.

The 27-year-old Victoria’s Secret model gave birth at a Los Angeles hospital on Friday with Bloom by her side.

Speaking through a family friend yesterday, her grandmother said Miranda and bub were doing “very well”.

Kerr’s parents Therese and John flew to the US to be with their daughter for the birth and are expected back in Australia this morning.

Kerr was last week spied shopping for boys clothes, sparking rumours the couple knew the baby’s gender despite Kerr and Bloom insisting they wanted a surpriseThe birth came just four days after a fire destroyed Kerr’s grandparents house in her home town of Gunnedah in north-western NSW. [Via]

evan rachel wood

EVAN RACHEL WOOD

Evan Rachel Wood (born Evan Rachael Wood on September 7, 1987) is an American actress and singer. Her flickering, volatile relationship with Manson is pretty much the only reason you'll read about Wood on "Page Six". Wood began her acting career in the late 1990s, appearing in several television series, including American Gothic and Once and Again. She made her debut as a leading film actress in 2002's Little Secrets and became well-known after her transition to a more adult-oriented Golden Globe-nominated role in the critically acclaimed film Thirteen, (2003) co-written by Wood's co-star, Nikki Reed.

Wood continued acting mostly in independent films, including Pretty Persuasion (2005), Down in the Valley (2006), Running with Scissors(2006), and in the big studio production Across the Universe (2007). Wood's acting has drawn critical praise, and she has been described by The Guardian newspaper as being "wise beyond her years" and as "one of the best actresses of her generation." In their Spring 2009 issue, Venus Zine awarded Wood the top spot in their 25 Under 25 rankings. Her relationship with singer Marilyn Manson, whom she dated from December 2006 through October 2008, received considerable news coverage.

Wood's tattoos consist of the phrase "All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream" scripted just under her neck centered on her back. Wood was so moved by her role in 'Across The Universe', that she marked the end of the film by getting her first tattoo. She had a 'Beatles' tattoo of diamonds, a blackbird and strawberries etched on her ankle. She was quoted as saying, "That movie changed my life. I got a freakin' tattoo on my ankle for the movie. It's strawberries, where the leaves are in the shape of a blackbird and diamonds for (Beatles song) 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.' I got to sing 'Blackbird' (in the film) and my (character) name is Lucy in the film, so I got the diamonds."

"I kind of always thought I would get a tattoo but I was waiting for something really special. This was a moment in my life I wanted to mark. I turned 18 and I was living on my own for the first time and I was in New York filming a Beatles musical. I thought it was a good time."Unfortunately this initial tattoo concept was very poorly executed and has since been covered with a large black square, which she claims to be a diamond...although it could be a kite.

She had the number 15 tattooed behind her left ear while she was dating Jamie bell and Wood still has the letter "J" on her other ankle. Apparently Jamie Bell still has the tattoo of the letter "E". Evan and Mariyln now have had matching heart tattoos done to symbolize their deep and everlasting love

April Moon Enid OK

April Moon-Enid, OK__8x10 oil on linen___for exhibit Passing America: the Great Plains

Last week out on the plains we ended up staying in Enid, Oklahoma...twice! Our first day out, we got there just after sunset, and I sketched this quickly...my last "drive-by" painting of the day. I had already put up my paints for the day, but when I saw the sliver of a new April moon, I could not resist!

So, WHY did we stay in Enid twice?? Usually I like to take a different route on the way home, but when we left Enid the next morning we left a bunch of our stuff in the room, so we sort of HAD to go back for it....oops

Good Morning Enid

Next Morning-Enid___8x10 oil___available for Passing America: the Great Plains

We left Enid at sunrise the next morning and I caught this glimpse down the street near our hotel....painted it mostly from memory....my Impression...Barbara kept noticing the red bud trees in bloom, so I noticed and I made sure to include a few in this scene.

I got some interesting comments from the blog, the Group-mail and facebook about yesterday's post on Enid. I was told that it was called a gathering place of "bad luck"....from before the civil war and the Trail of Tears to the dust bowl, Bonnie and Clyde, to train wrecks and tornadoes and locusts and wildfires on the prairie to A.D Greer and to being the "Bastard gateway" between 5 desserts,Texas,Oklahoma,Colorado,New Mexico and Kansas......that's a pretty lowly title to have.....and yet they have an orchid club there.! A good friend LOVED Enid, despite these things because her mom was born and raised there! ANYTHING having to do with "mom" HAS to be good!...and I have learned that there is something beautiful in EVERY place!

I chose this route through Enid, because it is along the Meridian Highway, US 81...more on that, later

HP Application Transformation Solutions Deliver Flexibility and Speed

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- HP today announced new application transformation offerings designed to help enterprises drive innovation by delivering application flexibility and speed.

In today’s world of instant gratification, everyone expects secure, seamless access to information no matter where or when they want it. This requires an Instant-On Enterprise that can rapidly innovate and respond.

“Innovation is what separates market makers from market followers,” said Thomas E. Hogan, executive vice president, Enterprise Sales and Marketing, HP. “At HP, we believe technology is the innovation engine for the enterprise and we have the unique portfolio to fuel it.”

New research conducted on behalf of HP reveals the role of innovation in organizations today. Ninety-five percent of executives in the private and public sectors consider innovation to be important to the success of their organizations. When asked why innovation is important, the top reason cited by both sectors was future growth (84 percent of private sector executives; 63 percent of government executives).⁽¹⁾

The respondents also revealed that ”changing customer or citizen demand” and “producing higher quality products and services” were the primary goals for innovation. To understand what is driving innovation in the enterprise, the survey asked the respondents to identify the “innovation engine.” More than two-thirds of the executives indicated that it was technology.

The survey also sought to determine where executives would invest first to drive innovation. The No. 1 response was “applications and software for more flexible processes.”

To help enterprises accelerate innovation, HP is expanding its Application Transformation solution portfolio to include seven new offerings. The enhanced portfolio allows clients to assess, modernize and manage the applications driving their enterprises.

Assessing application environments for greatest impact on innovation

HP Application Transformation solutions enable enterprises to understand their application portfolios and decide what to keep, change or retire. This is the first step in their transformation journey.

HP Application Portfolio Management (APM) software, delivered as a service, helps enterprises rapidly identify areas for portfolio rationalization using fact-based analysis against a set of enterprise goals. APM serves as the foundation for the enterprise application transformation plan and helps to reduce the cost and risks associated with modernization projects. By combining APM with HP Applications Rationalization services, clients can receive a customized applications transformation roadmap that delivers the optimal application portfolio.

HP Applications Transformation to Cloud services help enterprises analyze their application and infrastructure environments to determine cloud suitability, develop a customized roadmap for transformation and ultimately deliver those applications via the cloud.

Modernizing application environments

HP is helping clients transform legacy applications into agile services through a full portfolio of application consulting, development, integration and outsourcing services.

HP Application Transformation Services for Client Computing modernizes client device environments to Windows 7, delivering improved productivity, mobility and security. Using automation, standardized processes and a global workforce, HP can drive down the cost and time needed for implementation.

Managing application environments to ensure security

With the threats from application risks increasing both in number and sophistication, security is a major concern and challenge for modernization projects. HP Fortify Real-Time Hybrid Analysis is the first application security analysis solution that discovers the root cause of software vulnerabilities by observing attacks in real time.

By using HP Fortify Real-Time Hybrid Analysis in concert with new versions of HP Fortify 360 and HP Application Security Center, enterprises can proactively deliver the application security intelligence required to effectively manage risk.

Using hybrid delivery models to speed application transformation

HP offers a full range of cloud-based solutions to help clients on their journey to the cloud. HP announced three new offerings in its cloud portfolio that increase flexibility and speed time to solution.

HP Cloud Service Automation 2.0 software enables enterprises to quickly build, deploy, monitor and manage applications and infrastructure across heterogeneous environments. With new automation enhancements, one-touch provisioning and monitoring capabilities, HP Cloud Service Automation 2.0 enables enterprise to quickly build their own public or private cloud and speed application delivery to market.
HP Exchange Services for Private Cloud helps enterprises get a “pay per use” model of cloud computing along with an enterprise-grade level of performance and security. This provides the benefits of cloud computing without the associated risks.
HP Enterprise Cloud Services for Microsoft Dynamics CRM offers Microsoft’s market-leading Dynamics CRM software suite via a virtual, private cloud. This alternate delivery model combines the benefits of a cloud-based model with HP’s extensive experience in running customer relationship management systems and contact centers.

Helping clients overcome financial barriers to innovation

HP Financial Services works with enterprises to implement long-term IT investment strategies to address funding barriers to innovation.

HP Application Transformation solutions accelerate the journey to becoming an Instant-On Enterprise by modernizing applications and processes designed for another era.

About HP

The world’s largest technology company, HP brings together a portfolio that spans printing, personal computing, software, services and IT infrastructure at the convergence of the cloud and connectivity, creating seamless, secure, context-aware experiences for a connected world.
