Cell phones are expensive but you might be able to save!

I have been stuck in a contract for a while and I will be dropping my phone and going to a prepaid phone as soon as I can. It will save me $780.00 a year and will still have great coverage! My phone usage is minimal if you use your phone a lot you might not save this way but I use about 150 min a month.
There are a few diferent prepays out there I found net10 is the cheapest for my situation because it only charges me for the min I use no daily fee just 10cent a min!
If you talk or text a lot this is not a good Idea for you but if you are like me you could save a bundle!!!
Keep you eyes peeled for good deals on anything and everything. If you find something to save leave it in a message! Ty have a thrifty day!

ANOTHER SAVING TIP!

When I get back home at the end of the day I usually have some change in my pocket, so I put it in a jug currently have a 5 gallon jug about half full! When it gets to the top I cash in it takes a while but when I cash in I usually have about $500.00 nice way to save!

Don't leave out your own retirement!

I don't know about you but I don't want to work for ever! I would strongly suggest looking into a 401k, I.R.A or Roth I.R.A. If your employer offers a program USE IT especially if they match you will need the money if your every want to retire! I put the maximum in my account.
I know the economy is bad and stocks are viewed as risky but If you are young enough the risks are not as bad as you might think. The gain can be enormous if you plan on a long investment.
FACT: the longer your money is invested the more you will get in the end SO START YOUNG! Definatly look for a investment calculator and play with the amounts and years invested you will be surprised!
I look at it like this if you don't stick your foot in the road it won't get ran over, but you can't get across the street! That said don't put all your money in one investment (Look both ways before you cross)!
I believe the market will either get better or its gonna get really bad in this country for anybody that does not have a trust fund. so I figure what I put in will grow or it won't really matter!
MY ONLY REGRET AS FAR AS INVESTING FOR RETIREMENT IS I DID NOT START EARLY ENOUGH. I Started my 401k at age 26 wish I would have started at 18 or sooner!

I am not an expert. and I incurage you to get an experts advice when investing! but if I have convinced you to talk to an expert I have done what I started out to do with this blog!

Watch out for banks!

My old bank was charging me a fee if I didn't leave $500 dollars in my CHECKING ACCOUNT. I've accepted minimums on savings accounts but the minimum on a checking account is just wrong. If your bank is doing this try a credit union! and tell your bank you don't like crazy fees! Sorry I know its not a credit thing but it bothered me enough to leave that bank and I will never bank there again! Its the principle of the thing!

Maybe a car! for your credit

If you have done everthing in my last post you should be able to get a loan for a car real easy. BE CAREFUL since some of the new legislation has been passed to "help people" financially, some new fees have been popping up in banks and other financial institutions. ask Questions to be sure what your loan is exactly! A car loan will further help your credit and by the time you pay it off you will have made great strides to great credit, as long as you paid your payments in full and on time!

Tip how to fix your credit!

I had a BAD credit score for about 3 years after I got my first credit card because I ran up $1000 dollars and lost my job! I could not pay bill for about 2-3 years!fees. That is my bad credit beginning and it was not easy to fix took about 4 years to get where I am today. The best way I found was to get a small credit card that reports to credit bureau every month and use it but always pay it off every month. You will have to pay for the service and because you have bad credit the card won't come cheap I believe I payed $250 for mine its a yearly fee so only keep for 11 months then get rid of it your credit should be good enough to get a card that is free! Then use it and pay it off every time DO NOT BE LATE with your payments! (PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH CREDIT CARD COMPANY'S)! I made sure my card limit was under $250 so I could not get in debt again!!

Step 2 get your self a saving account have money direct deposited in that account even $20 weekly will do if you can put more in! Make sure this money comes from your spend account! When I got a thousand dollars in the savings account I took 500 and bought a cd from my bank. But do some shopping around because I could have gotten a better rate If I shopped around at a couple of banks. Learn from my mistakes! Repeat this when u get another 1000 in the bank as many times as you like, but If you like me are afraid of the economy crashing and inflation look into getting gold! I have not made it far enough to buy gold but plan too!

I will follow up on this later, remember this is what I did or plan to do so if anybody has a suggestion for me I am all ears!

IF YOU LIKE ME HAVE OR HAVE HAD A ITCHY CREDIT CARD AND YOU CANT SEEM TO STOP USING THEM! PLEASE CUT THEM UP NOW!

NOW THAT I SAID THAT I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU A LITTLE ABOUT WHY I SET UP THIS BLOG. I DECIDED TO DO THIS BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE IN SO MUCH DEBT THAT I COULD NOT SEE A WAY OUT. BUT I EVENTUALLY DID!
I HAVE BEEN CREDIT CARD FREE FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND IT FEELS GREAT!
I HAVE THE MONEY NOW TO GO BUY THINGS I WANT OR NEED AND I DON'T HAVE TO PAY SOME COMPANY INTEREST OR FEES I DON'T MAKE A LOT ABOUT $30,000 YEARLY AND IT IS QUITE SURPRISING HOW MUCH I HAVE NOW THAT I HAVE NO CREDIT CARD BILLS!!

HERE ARE A FEW THING THAT HELPED ME!

FIRST YOU NEED TO SEPARATE BILLS INTO 2 CATEGORY'S ONE IS HOUSE BILLS, INCLUDING WATER,GAS,ELE.,MORTGAGE GROCERY'S, ALSO ANY CAR PAYMENTS OR CREDIT CARDS THE OTHER WOULD BE LIKE GAS TO AND FROM WORK, KIDS LUNCH MONEY, AND ANYTHING YOU NEED TILL YOU GET PAID AGAIN
THE BEST WAY I FOUND IS TO GET AT LEAST 2 CHECKING ACCOUNTS LETS CALL THEM BILL AND SPEND ACCOUNTS
PUT YOUR MONEY IN THEM THE SAME WAY YOU SPLIT YOUR BILLS AVERAGE YOUR PAYMENTS AND PUT THAT MONEY IN A "BILLS" ACCOUNT AND THE REST IN THE SPEND ACCOUNT.
DO NOT TAKE MONEY FROM ONE ACCOUNT TO THE OTHER IF YOU DO MAKE SURE IT IS FROM THE SPEND ACCOUNT TO THE BILL ACCOUNT. IF YOU START TAKING MONEY OUT OF THE BILLS ACCOUNT YOU WILL END UP MISSING A PAYMENT (TRUST ME I KNOW)AND THE BANK WILL FINE YOU FOR IT OR THE CHECK WILL BOUNCE @ ABOUT $32. A BOUNCE!!!!!!!! SO I LEAVE MY BILL ACCOUNT ALONE!
