Lil Flea Weekend 1: Gini’s Magic, Finding "John Mayer" in Swastik, and a Whole Lot of Vibe

There is something insanely therapeutic about a three-day weekend festival where you walk in with a single mission and walk out with an entirely rewritten playlist. That was exactly my experience at Weekend 1 of

The Lil Flea Mumbai

at the Jio World Garden in BKC.

To be completely honest, I bought my ticket with one singular goal: to see Gini live. I saw her, she crushed it, but the music gods had a lot more indie talent waiting for me to discover. Here is how three days of incredible music, great food, and unexpected friendships went down.

Gini's Spell & Lollapalooza Flashbacks

As expected, Gini was absolutely mesmerizing. Her set has this intimate yet powerful pull that just completely halts the surrounding festival chaos. But while her vocals always steal the show, I have to give a massive shout-out to her guitarist, Dhananjay.

His phrasing and energy on stage were unreal—not just here, but it instantly gave me flashbacks to his stellar performance back at Lollapalooza India 2026. The creative chemistry on that stage is pure gold.

Discovering Swastik (And Meeting India's "John Mayer")

The absolute highlight of the final day was a band called Swastik. They closed things out with a performance so tight, soulful, and high-energy that it completely blew the crowd away.

After their set, I managed to track down a few members of the band and just hang out for a bit. You know how it goes—good conversation, music talk, and post-gig adrenaline. I did a quick double-check on his name as promised, and their incredible lead guitarist is Rohit Joshi. By the end of our conversation, we had officially nicknamed him the John Mayer of the Indian Indie scene. If you haven't checked out Swastik yet, you are seriously missing out on some premium acoustic and rock fusion.

The discoveries didn’t stop there, either. Pho delivered a beautifully distinct, haunting set, and Rashmeet Kaur absolutely commanded the stage with her signature power and unmatched vocal gravity.

Pizza, Baklava, and the Beer Stall Crew

You can’t talk about Lil Flea without talking about the actual flea market and the culinary goldmines hidden in the food section. My weekend survival kit essentially consisted of two major highlights:

Heavenly Baklava: Courtesy of three incredibly sweet ladies who were running their dessert stall and spreading pure joy.
Artisanal Pizza: Fresh out of the oven from Mommy's Kitchen by Pratibha Kanoi—which might just be some of the best festival fuel I've ever tasted.

Because this was a marathon three-day event, I spent my hot afternoons seeking shade near the bar area. Shout out to the incredible support staff working the beer stalls. By day three, after countless chats in the afternoon heat, we were interacting like old friends who had known each other for years. Honestly, the everyday people and the fellow gig-goers made the entire crowd feel like a community.

The Final Vibe Check

While 99% of the people I met over the weekend were incredibly friendly, hospitable, and a pure joy to be around... the stage admins and security guards clearly missed the memo.

A massive round of applause to the security and stage admins for keeping their expressions entirely frozen. They ensured that not even a microscopic drop of the festival's legendary 'happy vibe' accidentally rubbed off on them. Truly remarkable dedication to the art of being a buzzkill.

Sarcasm aside, Weekend 1 at BKC was an absolute core memory. I went in for one specific artist and came out with a notebook full of new music, a very full stomach, and a reminder of why live independent music in India is in such a beautiful place right now.

What I've done to write this?

Nothing Actually. Music just passed by and I've done nothing to observe that. Bennington is gone and Emily just happened to be a good replacement.

When I compare the heritage the original band left that is nothing compared to the new songs but we we stand here to evolve to a new age.

I can't bear the new songs but hope for a new begining for neu metal. Simply one on one comparision is not fair. Chester is far more talented than Emily and holds a special place in our heart.

What I am most heart broken about is moment I spent in Planet M in a mall in delhi not having the money to buy Minutes to midnight in 2008.

But no more sorrows.

That's what chester told me. I'll watch Emily perform instead of the OG and foget my hardships to buy fhat album and help myself be a better LP fan.

What do I feel is not at all equivalent to the efforts to write this piece of blog but I have an aspiration to inspire the future listeners and to step out of fear of missing out and just be totally dedicated to the band they love.

I know the young aspirants don't have the money to pay for the concert's they would like to attend but it's always helps to save for a year and know about the the events beforehand

Stepping out of generalisation I am just writing this so that all the people who want to watch ths LP concert in India in 2025 should save from now.

Tickets might be costly and would be hard to get Just be ready so you don't break into pieces when you don't get them

What we are witnessing today is a crisis of faith, and only way to manage its unjust effects are lessons of humanity.

United states announced the withdrawal of a major chunk of its forces from Afghanistan after brokering a half cooked deal with the Taliban. The locals are worried that once foreign forces are gone Taliban would stomp all over the cultural & economic freedom achieved during this era. Taliban would be brokering a deal with the current Afghani government to take control of overs country's policy making. It is quite clear now America is not interested in the aftermath of a 19 year occupation of a foreign land and the rise in insurgency post troop removal might make the daily life of an average afghani much more difficult. Afghanistan's future looks quite grim with chances of regional insurgency increase post American occupation. Almost 2 decade long war created 2.7M Afghan refugees* and in case the Taliban comes to power(duh?!!) an average movie and music retailer would have to leave the country or would be punished as per the Sharia Law.

As we are talking about refugee crisis, we need to understand how UK is secluding itself from the rest of the world, while it looted the rest of the world for the last 3 centuries. UK is facing a strong economic sanctions from the European union as Brexit reaches its final few steps. But what I would recommend for countries like UK is a strong global economic sanctions as a cost of seclusion. This kind of behaviour increases the pressure on the other European economies who have still not closed their doors to the outsiders without options. United Nations need to revoke speciality status of UK in UN Security council and other pivotal areas so that countries like UK understand the price of segregation. In this situation, if there is a further influx of refugees into Europe, the local economy would struggle to keep up the social security provisions for the crowd and might fall into a recession. All this drama due to a nation worried about keeping immigrants out. And this is the story of all major economies in the next 10 year.

I haven't researched about a lot of modern techniques to measure and improve empathy, but I feel the greater disconnect between the people is created due to the digital world and it is the main reason of recent seclusion and segregation effect. Most of us are perceiving and reciprocating most of our emotions in front of a machine which has created an artificial mask for us to alienate from the reality. This has caused an inablity of understanding of a persons emotion and then stops our brain to mirror those emotions which essentially is the source of empathy. And this is the reason we are building walls, ousting immigrants, fighting the unnecessary fights for the political parties etc. And thus the Danish have introduced mandatory classes on empathy in schools. It is giving our youth a chance to understand the world from their own eyes than a 6 inch screen. While it might not be possible to teach every child empathy in classes, but it is possible that we put our mobile phones down for a moment and understand empathy ourselves so that we may teach the young.

A new dawn has fallen on the rock history as rock music would officially be just part of Just Hall of Fames as rock music is officially dead now. The sad excuse for the frontrunners of the genre are lowering the standards of it colossally with bad remixes taking away the ethos of the actual content.

In the Era of alt rock becoming mainstream and other instances of faded boundaries have struck a great uneasiness in the classic lovers of the genre. I would like to mention a golden era in the rise and reign of rock, the 60s had had taken the world in to a different frenzies and it s aftereffects were felt in the decades to come after that.

Remember, every instance that has created great music and has inspired the future generations in innumerable ways. Until next time I write , I give you a song that would be the ear bug of this weekend.

"Wilder Mind" is the latest album from a relatively new band called Mumford & Sons. For those who don't know Mumford & Sons, they formed in 2007 in London and they consist of 4 Members(Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall & Ted Dwane). They previously released two albums which were successful by and large . They have a distinct musical style in which they mix alternative rock with folk music which is soothing and easy on ears.
Moving on to the album, this is a 12 track album with 4 live versions of some songs added in the deluxe version.

"Wilder Mind" is just a magical compilation of songs which flow one after another smoothly. You will feel the synergy in the album as the tracks start to numb the pain out of your mind. Starting from "Tompkins Park Square" to " Hot gates" you will forget the time and just get into the album. I know it may seem to you why I am so over praising this album so much, but I have my reasons. I can't even list out 4 best songs out of it because all of them equally touched my heart at some point of time. All of the songs has their moments and each of them will be taking you to different place.
I don't know how some websites have rated this album negatively, but generally it has favorable reviews from critics and users. I wouldn't rate this album because grading something so beautiful will destroy it. Comparing it with something else will be injustice to the artist and music. So to keep it simple, its a lovely album with lovely tracks by a lovely band. Just listen to it and tell me how you guys found it in comments. Adios..

Switchfoot @ HRC Pune

Hi guys, Now its been about a year I've written something here but now you can't miss events like a Switchfoot Concert. Last month Switchfoot toured 3 venues in India namely Mumbai, Pune and Deli and all the gigs were arranged in Hard Rock Cafe of the respective venues.

As soon as I heard the news I booked the VIP tickets for Pune show and seeing that my friend from Hyderabad booked the tickets too. Now I haven't gone to a HRC before so I was very excited. I met my friend in a Mall nearby and we had pre gig chat about all the +Switchfoot previously heard and songs from the latest album +Fading West. We were discussing all the Set list probabilities and when would they play their all time favorite "Meant To LIve". When we reached there, their must be couple hundred people there waiting to for the gates to open. We had small talk with couple of people outside till the entry gates opened.

Ambiance inside was amazing as there were Rock N Roll posters, Guitars and T shirts hung around everywhere. Their technician started the sound check as we were waiting for them. After waiting for an hour they came and blasted the stage. They started with "Say it like you mean it" which I didn't heard before the concert. I was pumped up but I was waiting for a familiar song and then they started playing "Stars" which I like a lot. After these two songs I don't remember the perfect order the songs but I remember the most of the songs that were played.

They played most of the songs from their new album "Fading West". Among them "Who we are" is my favorite and while performing it Jon Foreman dived into the crowed and that was amazing. "Love alone is worth the fight" & "When We Come Alive" were also great. After playing some of the songs the band went inside and we got really disappointed as most of our favorite songs were not played. But after some time Jon Foreman Came back alone and after few minutes the others followed and then they played all their famous old tracks. "Dare you to Move" and "Only Hope" were amazing and he played both acoustic and normal version of them. And at the very end they played "Meant to Live" and just before that all of our devices got drained (from camera to phone) and that made me wonder that some moments are not meant to be recorded but they are "Meant to Live".

Sorry for the title but I found it catchy. Most of you guys would know them in and out but those who don't you are in the right place. They are the biggest metal act in this universe and they don't need any introduction. But to a person who have never heard of them can really get a wrong impression of them by listening to their new shit rather than the older records. Beer, Babes & Bands

TGIOF(The Great Indian October Fest) is the Indian version of the famous Oktoberfest of Germany which is the biggest beer festival of India. This year it was held at Bangalore and +Hoobastank was headlining. So I decided to give it a chance and went to bangalore. Met some friends there and one of my friend accompanied me.

Get this party started

None of us were a big +Hoobastank fans here, we just wanted to take break from daily life. We reached the venue 2 hours before the gate opening so we wasted some time and got inside at 3 o clock. So if you guys don't have any idea of a beer festival let me explain it to you cause this was my first experience too. Its not a just like a regular concert. There were three stages there. I only remember the main stage which was name "Kingsland". There were many beer counters which is quite obvious. Other things included food corners,he rope. Music was also not just limited to rock as there was also shows for House music and Fusion lovers which didn't interested me as they were in a different stage.

So the show started roughly at five. The first band to perform was a Chennai based band named 'Skrat'. The lead singer looked like +Billie Joe Armstrong. Thier music was something like "never heard this shit before". Bit amateurish but they knew what they were doing. They took the crowd to another level and till they performed we just forgot that Hoobastank is also gonna perform here. There was another band after them which basically covered some great songs like "We will rock you" and "Beat it".There was another band in or way to Hoobastank. It was called +One Nite Stand Band. They played quite professionally as all their chords felt right. There was no chance of a mistake there. There music was good but the lyrics were not that interesting.

At last Hoobastsank made an appearance and started with a song called "Same Direction". We were all totally hammered till then but the blood started flowing in our body just by thier starting number. They played numerous songs which I've never heard and some were also from thier latest album which I came to know just a day before the show. I knew they will close the show with "The Reason" so when they started that song I was was quite excited but then I realized that after this it is over. So floating in that mixed feeling I sang that song with the crowd. But to my surprise they sang another song that night and threw 3 TShirts in the crowd( I got none:( ). And we walked down the streets of bangalore remembering all the good time.

25 Most Played Songs

So here I was listening songs and suddenly i clicked on my "Top 25 Most Played" playlist in my iTunes. I'm sharing it with you guys. Its is not as expected as you'll weirded out by seeing some of the tracks here. Even I got surprised by seeing the ranks of some songs.

"Late Goodbye" is my favourite +Poets of the Fall song but "Illusion & Dream" ranks above it. I like the +Guns N' Roses cover of "Knockin on Heavens Door" but its not in the list instead the original by +Bob Dylan is there in the list. This is not a most played list expected from a rock music fan but as I appreciate all the genres and all of the time I play music in shuffle mode so you can't blame me and the list is not that bad. I'm just sick of reviewing this trilogy. Its really my fault because I could have written a single big review of it but I chose the longer way and I'm stuck. I'll stop whining and start some reviewing now.Its a 12 track album and tracklist is-

Opening track "Brutal Love" is a slow paced song but has good sections in it. You'll love it for a second then in an instant you see its bit disappointing at places. "Missing You" is a improvement. Its a stereotypical cheesy song but sometimes this is what you want. "8th Avenue Serenade" has a addictive music which makes you like it in a second. Its a short song so it won't bugger you much if you don't like these kinds of song. "Drama Queen" is a acoustic track with limited lyrics. You'll remember the lyrics if you hear it twice.
"X-Kid" shifts the gear and takes the album to another dimension. From here the things speed up a little. Its a single so obviously its one of a good tracks but till now I didn't find anything here to remember forever. "Sex, Drug & Violence" the name itself explains a lot but don't get too excited by the name cause over excitement causes disappointment in some cases. I'm not saying its a bad song but not that great. "The Little Boy Named Train" is the strangest named song in the trilogy. Its a average song like most of other tracks in this album. "Amanda" is a song which makes me think a song by song review is not required for this album.
"Walk Away" starts up slow but in seconds it paces up but it doesn't have much lyrics. "Dirty Rotten Bastards" is a song used to promote the album. It has great starting music but as the song goes on I didn't feel as pumped up as I was in the beginning. Still it is a good song and one of the best in the album. "99 Revolutions" has exciting music which for a second takes you to another level and says the party is not over yet. "The Forgotten" is track featured in "Twilight" but don't hate for that. Its a great song with real good lyrics. There is small guitar solo in between which I liked a lot.
Overall the album is average with few exceptions. So I'll give 3.5 stars out of 5 to it. If you got other two you must get this one too just to complete the trilogy.

Dos is the second album in the trilogy. Out of these three albums this is the only one with 13 tracks as rest of them have 12 tracks. There are following tracks in the album

First track is not so great as its a bit dull and slow but don't get disappointed as this gives a totally false idea of the album as you go to next song you will totally be cheered up. "Fuck Time" does not have a high tempo but its lyrics will get you pumped up. "Stop When the Red Lights Flash" is bit monotonous with bit boring and repetitive lyrics.

Till this point you 'll have a second thought about this album. But the next track will completely change your mind. "Lazy Bones" is the best song in the album with a very good and easy lyrics and great music. You just can't can't listen this song just once as you'll play it again and again. "Wild One" is totally a karaoke song. It has easy lyrics and you don't need any special skills to sing this song. "Makeout Party" changes the tempo by picking it a little bit up. Its a ok song but there is nothing to write about it.

"Stray Heart" is the first single of this album and is quite popular as its video was released to promote the album so most of you have listened this song and those who haven't its just like a title track of the album and might be the most melodious track of the album. "Ashley" is a short song with not much lyrics as it all revolves around "Ashley". Transition from this song to "Baby Eyes" is not that noticeable but you will get it as the song commences.

"Lady Cobra" is a average song which is not worth mentioning. A song like "Nightlife" is not expected from Green Day and I'm saying this in a good way. It is the funkiest piece of music in this album and I like it a lot. It contains a a little rap and some other things which you'll understand when you listen to it. "Wow! That's Loud" has good music but I didn't like the lyrics so I'll not recommend this song. "Amy" is the last track of this album and I really like how this song starts. It also doesn't have blaring guitars so it gives a calm ending to this album.

I'll give a 3.5 stars out of 5 to it as I liked 8 songs out of 13 which is equivalent to 3 star rating but I gave it more as I really liked the other songs in this alum. I'll be listening to 3rd and last installment of the series so I'll review it soon. Ta Ta :)

Days have passed and I haven't posted anything. Its bit awkward reviewing such a great album by such a great band after so many days. Now lets get to the point and talk about the album.This album is a part of a triology by green day which includes uno, dos and tre. Its a 12 track album and if you download itunes deluxe version you get 4 videos. The track list is

If you start listening the album you will know that it is full of love songs in a punk rock manner with some exceptions. First track(Nuclear family) almost gives the vibe how the album is going to be. Its like Green Day has shifted their gear from their last album. This album reflects that the band was in a lighter mood while making it. As you listen it you feel its fun and its good. "Stay the Night" is one of my favorite songs with catchy riffs and lovely lyrics. The transition between "Carpe Diem" and "Let yourself go" is quite good as both the songs are in different tempo and as you hear the latter you get totally pumped up.

"Kill the DJ" is star in all of them and you'll understand this when you'll listen it. It has the most important thing to make a number hit i.e. you'll always want to sing along with it. "Fell for you" again changes the mood from "Fight Club" mode to "Love Bug" mode and "Loss of control" and "Troublemaker again reverts you mind back to where you were before the last song. The last four tracks of the album are lovely with "Rusty James" and "Oh Love" being exceptionally good.

What is best about the album is that you can't say one song is very good and rest of them were OK. For the first time all the songs of a album is going to my playlist. This album was little bit different from last two album by Green day but it for good as change was needed.Its a album you put in your car stereo when you are happy and want that feeling to last, I'll give it 4 out of 5 stars. Soon I'll be reviewing dos and tre, so wait for it as its going to be legendary.

Living Things: Review

Linkin park released their latest studio album last week. I didn't liked 'A thousand suns' so I was not that excited about this album. But being LP fan I had to listen to this thing. And voila its amazing. Its LP rejuvenated but it takes care of old LP fans. It has something for everyone. Actually it is quite a life story of Linkin Park. It has elements of all the previous Lp albums. I could actually hear bennington of "From the Inside" in "I'll be gone".
I didn't expected this much from this album.
What new in this album is it has high end sound mixing. A lot of work is done in syncing music to get the best sounding music. Each and every beat is beautiful. It has a lot of instruments in it but still it is mind soothing. I don't know how they did it but they conquered my heart. It also gives a new direction to rock music. Each and every song is less than 4 mins and this makes them more interesting.
Some of the tracks are slow with low bpm and others are quite LP style nu metal tracks. "Powerless" and "Roads untravelled" are some of the soothing songs while "I'll be Gone" and "Burn it down" is classic LP. There are some song which are just between these two categories like "Castle of grass". Please do justice with the songs by using a good sound system or head phones (creative recommended).
I liked almost all the songs of the album. So I'll rate this album 4.5 stars out of 5. Its a big improvement over 'A thousand suns'. The track list is as follows-

All the albums by "The Beatles"

About 3 months have been passed and I've not given any any posts. So I now feel its perfectly right time to give a new blog post. Recently I watched a musical "Across the Universe" . Movie is ain't that good but I liked the theme as the story was told by covers of Beatles songs. According to me all the rock music is inspired from The Beatles.
I first heard The Beatles when I watched a biography/film on them in The History Channel. In that movie I just saw a basic outline what beatles was. To get some more action I started listening to them and I felt they were really great. Their music was so good that it didn't even bother me that they were gay. They just blew me over with their music. They had melody, great lyrics, soothing music and the British accent. Only thing I hated about them was that they were from the city of Liverpool(I really really hate Liverpool F.C.).
So why these English fags are so special. They are special cause they are so original. They didn't derived their music from anyone. They invented their own music and taught the Americans that you guys might have invented the "Rock n Roll' but we are teaching the world what rock music is. These guys were just phenomenal. They have such simple music and lyrics like no complex solo's no weird lyrics its just like they are sending a message to the world which is sweeter than sugar.
I don't know if any band can even be compared with them. Some people say the RS or the VU or something else but they forget that you can't compare inventor of Mobile Phone to the Graham Bell. I'm not saying that any other artists or bands didn't make any original music but I just wanna say that other bands didn't impact the future of Rock music
in The Beatles way. So many artist today are inspired by them. Some of 'em are even my favourites like U2 and Coldplay.
So here I am a homophobic & a "Manchester United" Fan trying to convince the world that a gay band from Liverpool were the best rock music can have till now. For me they made this genre and they were the grandmasters. it does not matters me cause I just love their music. All those who haven't listen to any of the Beatles please listen to it. Have a good life, Rock N Roll.

Change is not for the good sometimes

Rock music had a glorious past, a decent present but the trends show that its future is in a dumpster. Rock n Roll has lost its meaning now. All its left now is noise. There are many bands out there say that we play thrash metal but what they really play is just thrash. Just for the clarification I don't hate the Eagles of DM. I just used them as it made the post title catchy.

What rock music is suffering now, country music suffered it a long time ago and If we play the blame game then actually rock music killed country music. So then something must be killing rock music too. But its rock music itself and lil' bit of rap too. Rock music is evolving in such a great pace and there is so many genres in it. Death Metal(Thrash Metal) is on of the most famous genres in the present. There are a lot of metal bands starting in the colleges everyday. They just have noise for music and scream for lyrics.

Rock music scenario today is there are some rock legends of yesterday who are now just old farts(like gnr and metallica) are making shitty albums, then there are these thrash metal bands which are good for nothing and the rest is the only good remaining in the rock world.
Another reason for decline in rock music is that today kids want to listen to lady gaga and Justin Beiber. These things are not only affecting rock music but are also a curse to music world. I don't have have anything against rap or pop music as I also listen to them sometimes. Rock music is above all of it. It has a beauty that it doesn't need a trained singer to sing it ,rock stars don't lip sync at their concert and what is important that it can be enjoyed for years.
But there is still hope as we see some bands like RHCP, Green Day, Coldplay and many more. These bands are still giving what this genere deserves. There are some bands like LP which were good at first but lost their originality now. Some of the rock bands are now singin pop songs just to sell cds. But they must under stand that thieir fans love them as a rock band and if they switch genere I have only one thing to say to the "F**k you".
I just want see rock music up high and rollin till I die. Long live rock n roll.

Rolling Stones V/s Velvet underground

As I said in my last post I'm a tarantino fan and I wanted to bring this post in two parts, so this is the my second post of the clash of these two big classic rock bands. I also did it in two parts cause it was getting pretty long and boring in a single post. In my last post I did Velvet Underground Songs so I'll be doing Rolling Stones songs this time. As I said in my last post that I would be reviewing 16 RS songs and the song list is as follows-

First song in the list is "As tears go by" which is a beautiful song. It doesn't sound like a song by a rock and roll band instead it sounds quite soothing and graceful song.Most of Rolling Stones songs are like this only. These guys knew how to touch peoples heart.
"Lady Jane" is a cute little song with some background guitars but no drums. It doesn't have much lyrics so anyone can remember it and sing along. Its also a low tempo song so its kinda lovely for the couples. "(I can't get no) Satisfaction" is one of the biggest hits from RS and it ranks 2nd in all time greatest song. It has influence from many genres and it also influenced other genres. Its actually a song which you get by mixing all the good things(Just like powerpuff girls). Great lyrics, Great Music, Classic.
"Sympathy for the Devil" starts like a African tribal song, tribal beats and strange sounds.I didn't like the song in the beginning but I liked as it commences. Its a 6 min song so It gets a lil bit boring in the middle but all in all its a good song. "Gimme Shelter" has got really good guitars in the beginning. Guitars are nothing extraordinary(not that hard to play) but they are totally spellbinding. It is the first song which makes me feel like I'm listening to rocknroll band. Listen to this song in a good stereo system and I bet you'll be amazed in the end. "You can't always get what you wan't" starts with a something a church choir sings and it slowly fades and then comes Mick and what you experience is pure Rolling stones music which is amazing. Its a 7 min. song but I liked it very much and didn't even felt bored in between. Its a greats song and if you haven't heard rolling stones till now you must start with this song.
"Honky Tonk Woman" starts with drum beats and in secs comes guitars which seems like you've heard it somewhere. Its a more music and less words song and a song which is played hundred thousand times in bars. Its also a good song for a long drive. "Jumping Jack Flash" is lot like the last song and I don't have much to write about it.
"Paint it Black" takes the pace from the beginning and the goes in same speed. Its kinda gloomy song and whole song is sung in a low tone. Its shows a different perspective of Rolling stones because its different from other rolling stones songs. "Street Fighting Man" has got similar guitars like a song I once heard and now I can't remember it. Its a O.K. song and there is nothing special about it except it made me search my library and I can't find that song.
"Ruby Tuesday" is the best RS song I've heard till now and I don't think that there is any other RS song better than this. Its beauty is timeless and it'll never die. I've heard it countless times and and I'm totally addicted to it. "Wild Horses" is another great song and when I heard it first time I can't believe that how can these beautiful songs can come back to back. As I said previously that these guys know how to touch peoples heart and the last two songs totally proves my statement. "Tumbling Dice" starts with very classy music which is mostly drums and guitars but it sounds great. It really liked its chorus.
"Beast of Burden" is a excellent mind soothing song. It is a song I would like to hear while sippin a margarita in a beach. Its relaxing and you will be in holly jolly mood after listening this song."Brown sugar" is another song on drugs. I didn't liked "Heroine" by VU but I really liked this song. It doesn't has much lyrics but it has excellent guitars.
"Miss You" starts wit a guitar riff which goes on for few secs. It has good lyrics and music. It is a slow song so it won't be difficult to follow the song.

The Final Verdict:-
It almost took a month to hear all these songs again and again and write two posts on it. Both these bands were legends and influenced the whole music industry, pop culture and peoples lives with their songs. But if I have to choose one out of these two It'll surely be

The Rolling Stones

I chose rolling stones because while listening to their songs you can feel a kind of energy coming in to you. Its their creative energy they put in their song and you feel it when you listen to it. Its totally amazing. Velvet Underground is a great band but it didn't lasted for long as Lou Reed engaged in his solo career.

Rolling Stones V/s Velvet Underground

Comparison is not a good thing but its fun.

I don't have enough knowledge to compare these great classic rock bands but I've got a lot of free time and I like doing these kind of things. By seeing the above picture any living being would say that "What the fuck man, Its Rolling stones". But after reading a Velvet Underground article(in RS Mag) I got to know that they were as good as the stones but the luck was not with them.
The problem is that I haven't heard much songs of VU and RS. So I'm using the "The best of Velvet Underground" album songs for VU and RS mags top 500 list songs for Rolling Stones. This may not be the 'right' way to compare two bands but Its a 'smart' way i.e. time saving.This give us 16 Stones songs(2 of 'em from my own collection and rest from the list) and 15 VU songs to compare. And there is a another concern. Should I include Lou Reed Songs in it.

I started with VU songs and the first track is "I'm waiting for my man" which is a good song and with Lou Reed singin' this song it sounds amazing and what you like is that even if it is the same riffs and beats going in the background it never seems boring. Next song is "Femme Fatale" which is sweet song and a song u'll dedicate to a girl you love. "Run Run Run" is a song which a "Doors" fan would like. You would surely like the guitar solo in it."Heroin" starts from a low point and within a min or two it goes to a high tempo but and surely addict would like it and I've to say that I didn't like it.
"All Tommorow's Parties"is the next song in the list and I really liked the way this song starts and u don't hear this kinda music these days. Its a soothing and sad song but its surely a great song."I'll be your mirror" is a song I really really liked. You'll understand why I've written two really in the last line after listening this song. While hearing this song u'll think that this the sweetest song in this world. "White light/White Heat" will kick up your mood. Its a refreshing song and its again a short one like the last song.
"Stephanie Says" which is a again a slow song and is also a very sweet song. Music is very much soothing and this is a song which you add to a mix CD to gift someone special."What Goes On" can be used as a definition "Classic Rock". Its like I'll tell my son to listen to it and say "It's classic rock man". It has all the essential things that you would expect in this kinda song."Beginning to see the light" is the next song in the album and it goes fast but in the middle it puts brake and and shows you the reality and again goes to the point where it started. It just seems like a song for me(don't ask me the reason).
If anyone of you've watched the movie "Adventureland" u'll surely know "Pale Blue eyes". All I've to say about this song is that its a masterpiece and just go and listen to this song if you don't believe me. "I can't stand it" has got really good music. From drums to the guitars everything is "A" class. You can't help shakin' your head to the music in this one. "Lisa Says" is another sweet and short song in this album. Its a delight for slow dance freaks. From music to lyrics everything is perfect for slow dancing. "Sweet Jane" is surely one of the best song from VU. When the song starts playin' you get a good feeling and it never disappoints you till the end. "Rock and Roll" is the last song of the album and as it feel good to end a album with a song like this. Its like ending a journey in happy mood. And we know that "All is well, If it ends well".
Yesterday I watched "Kill Bill" again and I thought of writing this in two parts. So I'll end up this Clash of the Titans in my next post. So next time I'll be writing about rolling stones, till then SEE YA.

Screaming Bloody Murder: Review

These lines truly touched my heart and made me review this album. This is the 5th studio album from Sum 41 named "Screaming Bloody Murder" on its title track. Its a 14 track album. This album is a typical sum 41 album with songs which go in a sky high note and then comes to the ground level and soothes your heart. Actually what I like about Sum 41 is that they have great vocals which does the job for them.

I still remember the day when I first heard "pieces" and it was like "The best song in the world". I had the same feeling for "Reason to Believe" which is the opening track of the album. It has great lyrics and the way he sings it makes it better. Second track is the title track which is also good but not as good as the first one. Still its a song I think everyone of you would like.

Third track is "Skumfuk". When you start listening to this song you think its going in some direction and after listening it for a min. u'll think its not the same song. Its a song in which you can't say its good or bad its just a song which you like.

Fourth track is "Time for you to go" which you can totally say that its a party song. A song which can be included in next "American Pie" movie. Its totally a headbangin' track and all the party maniacs will like this song.

"Jessica Kill" is the fifth track of the album. I really like the way this track starts and it gets better as it goes. It has some influences from previous albums and It reminds me of old times. The time when i first heard Sum 41.

"What I am to Say" is a slow track w.r.t the other tracks in the album. It shows the softer side of the album which is present all the albums released after " Does it look infected?".

"Holy Images of Lies" also starts slow and it looks like but don't u forget that you are listening to Sum 41. It has beautiful lyrics. Its just like a fusion of harsh and soft side of a person shown simultaneously. Its surely weird but its weird in a good way.

"Sick of Everyone" is the 8th track of the album and it just looks like a continuation of the last track. Its just a song for the rebel a person who had enough of this world. It also has great lyrics and it will fill you wit energy.

"Happiness Machine" starts with drums and guitars and slowly it goes to softer part. Its just like the last two tracks but it has something different which I can't describe in words. You just have to listen the song and u'll have the same feeling.

"Crash" is the 10th song of the album. Its a soft track and its a song you play in prom night. It starts with piano and that what makes it a perfect dance song for the couples. Piano continues in the backgrounds with some guitars without any drums. Its one of the songs which the girls would really like.

" Blood in my Eyes" again seems like another song like "crash" but I'm again saying that its sum 41 and this is what they do. The give you the " Best of both worlds" (ashamed of using these line here but these line perfectly describe them). In between the third and 4th minute there is some intensive guitars and drums and after that the songs goes to part from where it started.

"Baby you don't wanna know" is one of the songs which will get most radio plays and u'll see people singing this song here and there. It a song that u'll sing without even knowing it you are singing it. It also lightens the mood after all these heavy shit.

"Back Where I Belong" is the 13th track of the album. It starts slowly and in few seconds you listen the guitars and drums. In between the song it again takes a break but all in all this song is guitars and drums only.

"Exit Song" is the last song of the album and its a slow one with guitars in the background. It " Short and sweet".

I'll rate this album 4 stars. Its good piece of work and its what a alternative fan likes. Most of the songs from this album will end up in your playlist. So I think its all for today.

This is the chorus of the second track of Red Hot Chili Peppers new album I'm With You. It is a 14 track album and it is the 10th studio album of RHCP. From the first track to the last one the album its freakin good. And I can clearly notice the change in guitars as John left the band but I'm not disappointed at all. Actually I like this change. As it is said "Changes are for the good". One more change I noticed here is Anthony's mustache which u'll notice in Rain dance Maggie video. I like this album so much that I'll like to do a song by song review of it............

1) Monarchy of Roses- Starts with strange distorted guitars and you say "what is it?" and then comes the funky beats and you say its "Chili peppers". Its kicks off your mood and gets you excited. It has got a disco beats in it. RHCP likes to experiment and I think they never fail.

2) Factory of Faith- It is one of my favorite song of the album. It has everything you want from RHCP. Great chorus which you can sing all day, great beats and a lil bit of rappin. It is a song which really makes me happy.

Its not a song which you remember long long time but if you listen to this 10 years later u'll be as psyched as the day you first listened to it.

3) Brendan's Death Song- It is a slow paced song with a constant beat in the background. Its not a funky one, its the heartfelt one. Tempo and the volume of the background instruments increases from the middle of the song.Its definitely going to my "mind soothing" playlist. Its very well placed in the album. It gives us a break from high dose of PunknFunk .

4) Ethiopia- This song totally reflects the Image of "Classic Young Kiedis". Cause only he can have a lyrics like "E Aa o Aa E Aa AA". But the song is really good. Its has good bass work in it. I do recommend a noise isolation earphone to listen this song.

5) Annie Wants a baby- Starting bass sounds like "All Apologies" of Nirvana but in few seconds you know that its going in a different direction. Songs about Annie who wants a baby and she wants it now. Actually song doesn't mean anything but its a great song in all aspects. It is again a slow paced song and has great bass in the background.

6) Look Around- Starts with high pace and again sets the party mood. It make us remember what RHCP was in the past. If you've never listened to old alums of RHCP than you should first give a visit to them and you would know what I'm talkin about. These type of things can't be found in "By the way" or "Stadium Arcadium".

7) The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie- It can be referred as the title track of the album. It is used for promoting the album in youtube and TV. It starts with bass, then comes a guitar riff and then you see Kiedis with mustache singing and you know its the track u'll like the most. But its not totally true as there many other songs u'll like equally in this album. Video of this song is released and is shot in Venice beach of L.A.

In the video the band is standing in a top of a building near the beach are performing to live audience. Video is quite catchy and u'll end up watching it 3-4 times just to see that Kiedis has a Mustache.

8) Did I let you know?- Starting music of this song sound like bhangra fusion. It has got a unique feeling about it. I haven't heard a song with this kind of music in it and I mean it in a good way. It is a good song for the discs and I know it'll will be remixed later for the clubs. Actually I'm quite surprised by this song here.

9) Goodbye Hooray- This is the first song in the album I didn't liked so much. Still its not that bad and it can totally stay in your playlist. It has a variety of sounds in it. U'll forget at the end where it started from.

10) Happiness loves Company- It starts with piano and its quite a jolly mood song. It'll surely cheer you up. The piano continues in the background during the whole song. It has also got a great chorus that u'll like to sing all day. Don't know if its the piano but the song has a classy feel. You don't encounter these kind of songs everyday.

11) Police Station- It has the "George Michael" feel in it. It has very soothing vocals. And I know that u'll like its lyrics too. What I like the most about Anthony is that he can sing all types of the songs from these heart soothing ones to the stage wrecking ones.

12 Even You, Brutus?- This song tells that Anthony started singing due to "Grandmaster Flash and Furious Five". In his book(Scar tissue) anthony said that only two kind of people in this world can sing, the persons who have a great voice and the persons who can rap(rhyme). Song is great and while listening to it u'll forget that its a song by a rock band.

13 Meet me at the Corner- Its a gloomy and heartfelt song. Its slow placed but has great lyrics. Its a great song to apologize. But it ends in a lil bit of happy mood.

14 Dance, Dance, Dance- Its a great way to end the album and its also great song to end a party. Because in a party you get happy, sad, excited and disappointed but in the end who gives a crap man its just a party and you gotta dance. This whole album is just like a party cause it takes you in different places and different moods and this song is a great way to end it.

Its a great album according to me and i'll give 5 stars to it.

Death Magnetic: Reviewed

You must be thinking why I'm reviewing a album which was released about 3 years ago. Actually I heard this album about three years ago but didn't like it then very much and as I'm attending Metallica concert this October I thought why not give it another try.

First track of the album is good and quite heart racing but second and third tracks disappoint me very much. What I don't like in it is that they are just making noise in it. As a Metallica fan I know that they can do a lot better than this. Fourth track(The day that never comes) is life saver. It has all the things that can be in a Metallica song, great guitars great vocals. Next song can easily be ignored. Then comes "Cyanide" which is fuckin good track and it has pretty good guitars in it.

I had great expectations from next song as it is named "Unforgiven III" and it fulfilled it all. It is not as good as first two songs with the same name but it is pretty good if it is compared to rest of the album. It got good lyrics which is not seen in rest of the album. Next song is " The Judas Kiss" is nothing to write about. "Suicide & Redemption" is a nine minute guitar solo which is O.k. Last track is "My Apocalypse" which is good and a great way to end the album.

If I want to sum it all I'll say that it is a average album with some good songs in it. But what I can surely say that it is way better than GnR's "Chinese Democracy".

Actually it is both of it.
Its the way you interpret it. For some people music is just time pass and for some people its their life. Oh u might be wondering whats with the post title. As I was saying its how you interpret it. From the start of rock music it has been considered as evil by the parents. But why something so much cool and pure is considered evil. Its reason is the side effects it had in our society. Its the other other two words written before Rock N Roll.

Why sex and drugs come before the music which we love the most? Its because most of us interpreted it wrong. And I'm not just blaming the fans I'm also blaming the artists. Actually the artists must be blamed more cause they are our role models. We do what they do. If they forget that what made them so big is their music how their fans will remember it.Kurt Cobain one of my favorite artist shot himself cause he couldn't get a shot of cocaine.He didn't deserved this kind of death. Drug abuse is common with most of the rock bands.From Aerosmith to RHCP its like it is necessary to take drugs if u like Rock music. One thing what I like about RHCP that they all got sober afterwards. Its not like that I don't like these bands but I don't like it when they endorse drugs abuse and sleeping around with 1000 of girls. There are also bands like U2 and Coldplay who are totally clean and give us such a good music.

I don't need drugs or anything like that to enjoy music. If I want to get high I just listen to "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. We need to understand that our love for rock music should not lead to these things. These things might feel good at start but it leads us to a dead end. Its up to you that you want to die in vain or live long and enjoy rock music.
