However, very few people manage to reap the profits they want from their blog. Most people who attempt to make money with their blogs do not succeed for two reasons.

Often, bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their readership will grow and how much money they will make, and when these expectations are not met the disappointment can crush the desire to continue blogging. The other trap that many bloggers fall into has to do with lack of planning. If you want to turn a profit as a blogger, the key to success is to make a realistic plan and stick with it.

To succeed at blogging for profit, the main thing that you will need is a large readership. The higher your traffic, the more advertisers will agree to pay you. However, cultivating the regular visitors that you will need in order to make a profit isn't easy. As more and more blogs appear each day, having a great idea or a wonderful writing style is no longer enough to get attention. You need to be able to market your blog effectively.

Too many bloggers spend all of their time writing posts and almost no time marketing their project. To be certain, updating as often as you can is a great way to keep your blog high on blogrolls and high in blog search engines like technorati, and once your readers know that you update frequently they will return to your site on a regular basis. However, it does not matter how often you update if nobody is reading your page, so don't skimp on the time that you spend drawing visitors to your site. To make your dreams of blogging for profit a reality, try decreasing your number of posts and using some of that time to draw new visitors by setting up link exchanges with other bloggers, making contacts in the blog community, and following other established modes of winning traffic.

Of course, even if you are a marketing genius or have a really great idea for a blog, success is not going to happen overnight. Building the kind of readership that blogging for profit requires takes time, and in all likelihood it will be at least several months before you are able to turn much of a profit. Try to stay committed to your blogging project during this initial rough period. To stay motivated, set goals for how often you will update and how many readers you want to attract, and then reward yourself for sticking with your plan.

Steve is the owner of http://www.articleland.co.uk/ and http://www.informationbooth.net/. Maybe you spend time each day on link referral programmes and again getting no quality traffic. Or perhaps you have spent time and money on SEO only to find your still buried deep in the search engine listings. Well fear no more here is a system proven to increase your search engine ranking and it's free. With your listing higher in the search engines you will get quality traffic, people who are interested in what is on your site, people who are most likely to bring income to your site. You have found the The Free Traffic System.

What is The Free Traffic System ?

One way back links is one of the best and most effective ways to get high positions in search engines and milk these positions for targeted traffic. But getting quality one way links is a big job.
Free Traffic System is a new project that helps you to get top quality one way links for free - unlimited number of one way links, because you build as many as you need. Moreover, Free Traffic System has integrated a brand new concept of viral marketing, rewarding its members with bonus one way links.

Before getting to the viral part of the project, it is important to explain where exactly you are getting these back links. The back links are built inside real blog posts, not in the footer or blog roll - in the very body of the real, unique blog post. This is the most safe way to build one way links, because you give real unique content to the visitors in the blog posts and search engines will always welcome it - search engines were created to help people in finding quality information in the Internet.

You get back links from relevant sites that belong to real people in different niches. You submit one article to Free Traffic System and it converts into up to 60 top quality one way back links! And - unlike traditional article marketing - no one will delete your back links from the article, like they do when stealing your content from article directories.

The viral part of Free Traffic System is simple - they reward people for bringing others into this free project. This is one of the easiest ways of launching into an online business and earning more profits.Assuming you are already into an affiliate program, what would be the next thing you would want to do? Double, or even triple, your commissions, right? While how do you do that? Here are some powerful tips on how to boost your affiliate program commissions tonight.

1. Know the best program and products to promote. Obviously, you would want to promote a program that will enable you to achieve the greatest profits in the shortest possible time. There are several factors to consider in selecting such a program. Choose the ones that have a generous commission structure. Have products that fit in with your target audience. And that has a solid track record of paying their affiliate easily and on time. If you cannot seem to increase your investments, dump that program and keep looking for better ones. There are thousands of affiliate programs online which gives you the reason to be picky. You may want to select the best to avoid losing your advertising dollars.Write free reports or short ebooks to distribute from your site. There is a great possibility that you are competing with other affiliates that are promoting the same program. If you start writing short report related to the product you are promoting, you will be able to distinguish yourself from the other affiliates. In the reports, provide some valuable information for free. If possible, add some recommendations about the products. With ebooks, you get credibility. Customers will see that in you and they will be enticed to try out what you are offering.

2. Use an autoresponder. Collect and save the email addresses of those who download your free ebooks. It is a known fact that people do not make a purchase on the first solicitation. You will want to send out your message more than six times to make a sale. For this simple reason you should collect the contact information of those who downloaded your reports and ebooks. You can make follow-ups on these contacts to remind them to make a purchase from you.Get the contact information of a prospect before sending them to the vendor’s website. Keep in mind that you are providing free advertisement for the product owners. You get paid only when you make a sale. If you send prospects directly to the vendors, chances are they would be lost to you forever. But when you get their names, you can always send other marketing messages to them to be able to earn an ongoing commission instead of a one-time sale only.Publish an online newsletter or ezine. It is always best to recommend a product to someone you know than to sell to a stranger. This is the purpose behind publishing your own newsletter. This also allows you to develop a relationship based on trust with your subscribers. This strategy is a delicate balance between providing useful information with a sales pitch. If you continue to write informative editorials you will be able to build a sense of reciprocity in your readers that may lead them to support you by buying your products.

3. Use a squeeze page. You should develop a squeeze page that entices your potential client put requires them to give you there email information. Host this page on your website then when they submit there information redirect them to your main page to purchase your product or join as an affiliate under you.

4. Market, Market, Market……First of all you will have to learn to write strong ad copy and articles like this one to accelerate your sales. Then you can use pay per click search engine. Which in time and practice can be an effective mean of advertising online. As an affiliate, you can make a good income just by managing PPC campaigns such as Google AdWords and Yahoo Sponsored Search, GoClick, and Miva. You also will want to do article marketing by submitting articles to different article directories. This alone will increase your traffic to your site. It will also establish relative links and improve your websites ranking.Try out these strategies and see the difference it can make to your commission checks in the shortest of time.

"About the author" Bob Kotlarz is the former CEO at Syracuse Automotive Inc. and is the owner of Central New York Properties and BMK Enterprises and has put together six great programs that are high quality and a training newsletter available at www.Easy-ProfitSites.com - Proven Home Based Business Ideas and Opportunities, Your legitimate online business resource to create multiple streams of income with home based business.
Article Source: http://greatarticlesformoms.com

Choosing an Affiliate Program That's Right for You

By: pmen48

So what exactly is an affiliate program? An affiliate program is where a company offers to pay you a commission for either a click through from your site, generating a sale of an item on theirs, or a fixed amount for a lead ( a visitor is asked to sign up for a newsletter, etc.) Even if the visitor does not make a purchase initially, most programs offer "cookie duration" around 30 - 90 days.Do your homework before entering any affiliate program. Get some definitive answers because they will be the deciding statement of what you will be achieving later on. The following are some questions that should be answered.

1. Will it cost you something to join? Most partner programs existing nowadays are absolutely devoid of any cost. So why select a program that will cost you money just to sign up.

2. When do they issue the commission checks? Every plan is different. Some release their checks once a month, every quarter, etc. Choose the one that is suitable to your payment time range. Many affiliate programs are now initiating a minimum earned commission quantity that an affiliate must generate or exceed in order for their checks to be issued.

3. What is the hit per sale ratio? This is the typical number of hits to a banner or text link it takes to produce a sale based on all affiliate statistics. This issue is very important because this will tell you how much traffic you must produce before you can earn a commission from the sale.

4. How are referrals from an affiliate's website tracked and for how long do they continue in the system? You ought to be secure on the program enough to trace those people you submit from your site. This is the only way that you can be given credit for a sale. The amount of time that those people remain in the system is also important. This is because some visitors do not buy on their first visit but may want to return later to make the purchase. Know if you will still get credit for the sale if it is done some months from a certain day. In other words, how long do the cookies last? The longer the better as this will produce sales commissions for you in the days or months to come.

5. What are the kinds of affiliate stats offered? Your affiliate program should be able to offer detailed stats. They should be available online anytime you choose to confirm them . Constantly perusing your individual stats is important in knowing how many impressions, hits and sales are being generated from your website. Impressions are the number of times the banner or text link are viewed by a visitor to your website. A hit is clicking on the banner or text links.

6. Does the affiliate program also pay for the hits and impressions in addition to the commissions on sales? It is important that impressions and hits are also rewarded, as this will add to the revenue you get from the sales commission. This is especially important if the program you are in offers low sales to hit ratio.

7. Who is the online merchant? Find out whom you are dealing with to know if it is actually a sound business. Know the merchandise they are promoting and the regular total they are achieving. The more you know about the merchant offering you the affiliate program, the easier it will be for you to know if that program is truly for you and your website.

8. Is the affiliate a one level or two level program? A one level program pays you only for the sales you alone have generated. A two level program pays you for the sales, plus it also pays you a commission on the sales generated by any affiliate you sponsor in your program. Some two-level programs are even paying small fees on each new associate you sponsor. More like a recruitment fee.

9. Finally, what is the percentage of commission paid? 5% - 20% is the commission paid by most programs. .01% - .05% is the quantity paid for each hit. If you find a program that also pays for impressions, the total paid is not much at all. As you can see from the numbers, you will now understand why the median sales amount and hit to sale ratio is important. These are just some of the questions that require an answer before you join any affiliate program. You should become familiar with the many important aspects that your selected program should have before incorporating them into your website.

Try to ask your affiliate program choices these questions. These can help you choose the right program for your website from among the many existing.
Paul Menzie is an author and entrepreneur for Global Cash Flow Networks, a continuing education and business development company showing people how to build business success. Here's how it's done.

1. Select Your Keywords and Keyword Phrases
Choose the keywords and keyword phrases you want your blog post to rank high for on the Google search engine results page. For example, I want my blog post to rank high for the term, "blog ranked high on Google." Currently there are approximately 286,000 pages using this term so I'll have to do everything in my power to compete with these web pages to get my blog post on the first page of the Google results page for that term.

My keyword phrase also includes other keyword phrases like, "ranked high on Google" with about 310,000 competing pages and "high on Google" with over 71 million competing pages. Getting to the first page for these terms would be a bonus.

2. Use Your Keywords in Your Blog Title
Google pays very close attention to the words and phrases you use in your blog title. Notice how I used the term, "blog ranked high on Google" in the title of this article. It's important to use your keyword phrase in your blog title if you want to rank high for that phrase on the Google results page.

Another reason you want to use your keyword phrase in your blog title is to give your reader an immediate understanding as to what your blog post is about. If your blog is listed at the top of the search engine results page for your keyword phrase but no one reads it, it's of no value. Use a title that will cause people to click through to your blog post.

The New York Times creates two different titles for their articles. They use a catchy, creative or humorous title for their newspaper, and a keyword specific title for the articles and blogs they post to the Internet. They do this because people looking for jokes about the eating habits of nuns generally go to a search engine and type, "jokes about the eating habits of nuns," not "Nuns, Buns and Puns."

3. Use Your Keywords in Your Blog Text
Notice how the keyword phrase, "blog ranked high on Google," is used throughout this blog post. Google pays attention to the text on a blog in order to understand what the blog post is about. Once Google comprehends the content of the blog post, it will categorize the blog based on that information. By using your keyword phrase in your text, both Google and your readers can quickly understand what your blog post is about, allowing Google to accurately categorize your blog making it easy for your clients to find.

In the past, search engine consultants encouraged writers to use their keyword phrase in the first 25 words of their text and again in the last sentence. Today, the search engines don't seem to pay as much attention to word placement, but reader's do.

If your article is about your keyword phrase, it's a good idea to use it in the first and last sentence because it helps your reader quickly know what your blog post is about. It's also a good idea to use your keyword phrase in the first sentence because that is the text that is most likely to show in the description text on the search results page.

4. Link To Your Blog With Keyword Rich Anchor Text
Get as many one-way links leading back to your blog post as possible from as many quality blogs and websites as you can. Do your best to insure that the text people click on to get back to your site includes your keywords and keyword phrases. This is known in Internet marketing circles as anchor text.

In this example I want the anchor text leading back to my blog post to have the keyword phrase, "blog ranked high on Google," as the clickable text. The clickable text is the means by which all of those other web sites and blogs tell Google what your blog post is about.

Google provides far more weight to the theme of your blog post based on the quality and size of the sites linking back to your blog than the text on your blog. For example, if you do a Google search for the term, "click here," you will be taken to the Adobe Reader download web page. It's interesting to note the term "click here" doesn't appear anywhere on that page. The reason the Adobe Reader download page comes up first for this term is because there are millions of other sites that use the anchor text, "click here," to direct people to the Adobe Reader download page.

There are two wonderful ways to get keyword rich anchor text directing people back to your blog post. The first is to write and submit an article about your blog post to other web site and blog owners who will upload your article to their site. In return those web site and blog owners will provide you with a keyword rich anchor text link from your article back to your blog. They get great content for their web site and you get a valuable one-way link back to your blog post.

The second way is to encourage other blog owners to write about your blog post. In doing so, they are very likely to use your blog title as the anchor text leading readers back to your post. This is another reason why it's so important to use your keyword phrase in your blog title.

5. Ask Your Readers To Digg Your Blog Post
Ask your readers to tell the rest of the world about your blog post by submitting it to one of the social bookmarking sites. They include DIGG, Stumble, Blink and many others. If the title of your blog post includes your keyword phrase, it is likely that this is how your readers will describe your blog post to the social bookmarking sites. This helps Google decide where to rank your site on the search results page.

6. Blog On A Community Site
Recognized Expert, Active Rain, and Christian Blog are all examples of niche community blog sites. Recognized Expert is a site for marketing experts, Active Rain is for real estate professionals and the Christian blog is for, you guessed it, Christians. These niche sites have tons of traffic along with the undivided attention of Google and the other search engines.

If you're a marketing expert for example, blogging on a site like Recognized Expert will push your blog post to the top of the search results page in a matter of hours. That's a huge reason to blog on a community site. If you wrote the same content on your own blog, it may take months to be seen by Google, and you may never get close to the first page for your keyword phrase.

Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL and the other search engines explore busy community sites for new content every few minutes. On the other hand, they visit newer and smaller sites every few months. If you're serious about generating business from blogging, consider blogging on a topic specific community site.

Apply these six steps to every blog post you write, and you will quickly create a huge following of clients and potential clients. This is how the pro bloggers get their blogs ranked high on Google.

About the Author:
Bob Sommers is the host of the Recognized Expert Marketing show on Maui. Although blogging was once used for people to write down their daily encounters and thoughts, it is now used to make money as well. Blogs can be a great tool to use to direct traffic and to actually completely start a whole blogging business.

There are people out there right now that have made a lot of money by just using blogs alone. Blogging is fun and easy to do as well. You could pretty much write about anything you know about and then recommend a good product to help people understand you better and you could make money off of it.

Today, I would like to teach you a blogging blueprint in which I use to get my blog ready to make money from.

1. Niche Selection

Think of a topic that you are familiar with. One that you have a lot to say about and you arent afraid to express your opinions about. The topic that you choose will be the one you will base your first blog on.

2. Blog Content

Write some posts in your blog on your topic. It is necessary to keep your blog updated. I tend to update mine everyday, but if you dont have the time to do that then I would recommend you update at least 4 times a week. You only have to post once per time you update as well. Posting too many times can be viewed from the search engines as spamming.

3. Click bank

Once you start posting then you should head over to click bank and find a product which you can advertise that relates to your blog. Once you find a good match then create a link in which people can click on to buy the product through you.

4. Bring in the Traffic!

Now, since you have your blog all set up and everything you are going to need to bring in come traffic to your blog. You can do this by writing articles, which I have found to be the best way to promote your sites.

Now, that I have given you some idea of how to make money from blogs, you should be able to go and create one right away. Be sure to always stay motivated and keep reminding yourself why it is you are running a business in the first place. You should have no problem getting where you want if you know your purpose.

About the Author:
For more information, you can check out: Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle
Article Source: www.find-an-article.com/index.php?page=author&author_name=Sarah McAllister

5 Must Have Add-Ons for a Blogger Blog and Where to Find Them

When you first sign up for a blog on a site like Blogger, there is a wide variety of options made available that allow you to reach out to your readers. From customizable templates to imbedded videos, audio and advertising, the new blogger seemingly has the world at his or her fingertips. That warm and fuzzy feeling eventually starts to wear off though as new ideas pop up that may not be immediately covered by Blogger's built-in features.

Luckily, Blogger and essentially any other blogging platform allows its writers to add any number of open source add-ons to their blogs for enhanced features and interaction with readers.

AdSense
The single greatest thing you can do for your blog is turn it into a profitable outlet for your daily writing. Google's very own AdSense add-on is one of the easiest and most effective ways to do this. The best part is that it is incredibly easy to add AdSense to your blog through the interface provided by Google in Blogger.

All you need to do is sign up for an AdSense account using the same login ID you currently use for Blogger. Go to the template page of Blogger where you will find a visual layout of your site. Click on any of the "Add a Page Element" links on the page and you will be asked how big you would like your ads to be, how many to place, and what background colors they will have. It is quick and easy and integrates directly into your account.

Templates
The templates page is a great place to find and make a great deal of changes to your blog, the best and most visible impressive add-on being a new template. The code for your template can be located here, within the Template tag of your blog settings. To change your template, all you need to do is find a new one that you like and copy the code.

While Blogger comes with a couple dozens templates already installed, there are thousands more options available almost anywhere you look on the Internet. So, despite what Blogger may want your site to look like, you can make almost any changes you want, assuming you can find someone who has built a template to match your desired look.

Subscribe to Comments - by email
This simple add-on can be found within Blogger's own Buzz page, the company blog that announces new changes and updates to their website and services. To find it, look for it just below your list of blogs on your dashboard.

This new add-on makes it easy for you to stay in the conversation loop after you comment on a post. Blogger now gives you the opportunity to receive an email every time someone comments on the same post. This way, if you ask a question of the post author, you will get instant notification of their response without having to check back on their blog. To use this feature you will need to have a Google account which will insure that someone else can't provide your email causing your to receive email that you didn't request.

Amazon Widgets
Another great way to make a few dollars from your writing, Amazon widgets allow you install links to products on Amazon that your readers may be interested in buying. Sign up for a free Associates account with Amazon and you can then install these widgets with your own Associate ID number and get commission for any sales made through your site. It is a great way to make relevant ads on your site linked to posts you have written.

Bookmarking Buttons (Digg, Delicious, Facebook, etc)
These are almost required in today's age of social bookmarking and networking. By default, the only way a reader can interact with you on your blog is through the commenting feature. However, you can install simple button links on your site to services like Digg and Delicious where they can bookmark your posts and share them with millions of other social bookmarkers. To add these buttons to your page, visit the websites for Digg or Delicious and search for buttons and links after signing up for a new account. They install easily within the code of your template (which these sites will guide you through doing).

There are countless additions you can make to your Blogger blog through widgets and third party applications. When someone has an idea, someone else has probably already created an application to serve that idea. The best way to find new widgets is to search Google for "Blogger Widgets" or "Blogger addons" and search through the listings provided. You can do wonders with your blog with the right resources.

About the Author:
Learn to blog with Google Blogger Tutorials. You can find a blog provider that will let you set up a blog for free, once you choose a layout and design for your blog, you can make money by writing daily posts and adding affiliate programs to your blog. If you aren't confident with your writing skills, that's okay too. By using a word processing program, you can have the program check your spelling, as well as your use of grammar. The word processor can help you identify common errors that would otherwise cause your writing to be flawed. There are also many grammar courses available online that you can use. These are free and can greatly enhance your writing.

In addition to blogging, you can make money writing by creating content for websites that will either buy the articles from you, or give you a share of affiliate revenue. The most popular affiliate program is Google Adsense, and many companies will give you a share of the Google Adsense revenue that your articles and content generates. You can also add Google Adsense to your own blog or website as well. Writing is a great way to make money and the Internet provides numerous ways to increase your earnings. Blogging and writing articles is a great way to earn extra revenue, and can even become a full time job. Some other ideas include writing on forums, writing reviews of products, and starting your own business writing resumes.
About Author:
Want to make money writing? Every comment you receive represents one person that, regardless of whether they agree with your ideas or not, read your post and felt strongly enough to respond to them. Comments can make even the most jaded of bloggers feel fuzzy inside. So, how does a new blogger start turning those dozens of posts into a field of comments and discussion? It can seem hard at first, but there are a few steps you can take right away that will increase your readers' willingness to speak up.

Invite Comments
For whatever reason, if you ask your readers to leave a comment on your post, they will be immediately more willing to do so. This is just a natural response that the human brain tends to have. People are often in a hurry, or have multiple things on their mind. They might fully enjoy your post, but as soon as they are done, click to something else. If you ask them to comment, it serves as a subtle reminder that they should join in the conversation.

Open Ended Posts
Even if you are an expert on a topic, don't try to share every possible detail in one post. Be as open ended as possible and leave a few points for your readers to share. This takes a little bit of the humility mentioned below. If you can keep from throwing every fact you've ever read about a specific topic into one post, your readers will not have to think about something to say in response.

Ask Lots of Questions
The obvious way to get responses is to ask a question. If you ask your readers what they think about a topic, or for specific people to give their opinion on a lifestyle, you will get more responses. For example, if your blog is about TV shows and you ask a question such as "What shows did you enjoy in the past that are similar to The Simpsons", you will get many more comments than if you said "I enjoy old shows like All in the Family, because it is like The Simpsons". Engage your readers by addressing them directly.

Respond to Existing Comments
If someone comments, respond to it. Even if the comment is short and not particularly deep, a quick response can show that you are always paying attention and willing to engage in conversation with your readers. That commenter is now much more likely to comment again.

Setting Rules
Most blogging platforms such as Blogger do not have a built in set of rules for comments. The comments section is left open by default and you can make changes to it if you desire. Try creating a commenting policy and posting it on your page somewhere. This may seem like it would lower comments, but by describing what is allowed, readers with potential comments they might not have been willing to share initially are more likely to comment.

Show Some Humility
Don't try to know everything all the time. Be humble and show that you are aware of your own shortcomings, failings and holes in your knowledge. Don't be self-defacing, but be willing to say "I don't really know much about this, but I had a thought". The best part about blogging is that it gives readers and writers a chance to interact on an equal, real time level. If visitors want to read the opinions of those who feel they are always right, they could buy a book or pick up a newspaper.

Controversy
It's a gamble, and you can go too far, but if you want to breed new comments on your page quickly, pick a controversial topic and make a statement. This does mean you need to become political or religious. You could simply say that you disliked a popular movie. Anytime a blogger disagrees with popular opinion, comments skyrocket. Just be prepared to stand up for your opinion and to do it gracefully.

Graciousness, Admit When You Are Wrong
If you make a mistake and someone writes a comment pointing out that mistake, try to accept their comment and admit your mistake. It is very easy to become defensive and angry on the Internet where you have no personal contact with your readers. However, by showing that you graciously accept someone else's comments and opinions, you show humility and increase the likeliness of return visitors and readers.

Don't Make it Hard to Comment
Blogger has an option that allows you to require a login for the posting of comments. This is too much work. If you require a login, many people will decide against commenting altogether, especially if they need to sign up for a new account to do so. Instead of requiring login information, you can set your comments for approval before they post. This allows you to sort out comments and delete spam if necessary.

Make It Worth Their While
If you offer a reward for a good comment, you not only encourage repeat comments, you encourage better comments. Mark especially good comments with a comment of your own, or reference them in a new post. This draws attention to your readers and shows you are reading what they say.

If you want to grow your readership and comments section, the best thing you can do is to be involved and pay attention to what your readers have to say. This article will give you practical steps that you can take today in order to increase your blog's readership.

1. Post quality, original content to your blog.

Creating original well-researched content will set your blog apart from the pack. If people look at your blog and see poor quality content, they will leave your blog and probably never come back. People are drawn to great content and unique personalities. They like blogs that are written conversationally. Write like you are writing to a friend you really want to help. Include personal life stories and testimonies. This will help people feel connected to you and add uniqueness to your blog.

2. Help your readers solve their problems.

Many people come to the Internet to solve their problems. If you answer their questions with simple step by step instructions, they will appreciate your help and re-visit your site for more useful information in the future. You can also use this strategy to promote affiliate programs. Show them how they can use the particular service or product that you are promoting with simple steps and solve their problems.

3. Write for your visitors and not for the search engines.

When people write just for the search engines they tend to include search terms that don't flow with the stream of thought of the post. If what you write doesn't make sense to your visitors they will leave. You still want to optimize your posts for the search engines, just don't overdo it.

4. Post regularly and on a schedule.

This will cause the search engine spiders to visit your site regularly. It will also cause your readers to visit you regularly, because they know that at certain times they will be able to get fresh content from your blog. They will come to depend on it. It might be a good idea to include your posting schedule on your blog. People like consistency. If you have long lapses in posting, this will cause people to stop visiting your site. You want people to know that they can count on you for high quality, fresh, original content.

5. Write for a niche within a niche.

For example, Internet marketing is the main niche and ezine creation is the niche within a niche. People are looking for high quality content on a certain niche. If you can provide great information about a niche, your visitors will know where to come for the next great post. Give your readers a great reason to come back.

6. Optimize your blog for the search engines.

Make sure your blog posts are search engine friendly. Configure your blog to display the title of the post in the URL. You can do this in the control panel of your blog software. Another strategy is to put your main keyword in the domain name of your site. It is also a good idea to put your keywords and keyword phrases into the titles of your posts. Do keyword research before each post, so you know what are good terms to include in your post title. Then, take the time to write incredible posts. This will cause other blogs and websites to link to your blog. When you get links from related sites to your blog, your blog post will receive priority in the search engines and cause your post to appear at the top of the search engine listings.

7. Re-write your posts and submit them to article directories.

Use your posts to write articles that are 300 - 1000 words long and submit these to the top article directories on the Internet. Each article contains an author box. In the author box you will be able to promote your blog. Make sure to include a link back to your website. You can also use article submission services to blast out your articles to tons of publishers that will reprint your articles. Once again it is important that you write high quality articles or they won't take the time to publish them. There are a variety of companies that will do this. Take the time to research and find out which ones will best meet your needs. You could also contact websites that are within your niche and ask them if they would like fresh content for their sites in exchange for a link back to yours. If the article is well-written and useful then they will probably say yes. You could also write exclusive articles for these sites in exchange for a link back to your site.

8. Post on forums within your niche.

Do a search for "forums" + "your niche keyword" in order to find forums that relate to your niche. Take the time to review the forum rules and get to know the main contributors to the forum. Remember, a forum is a community of people and you are going to engage in this community. Get to know who is who. A lot of forums allow you to have a signature line attached to each post that you make. In the signature you will be able to put a link to your blog. You also might want to include a link to your RSS feed. Sign up for an account and start posting. Make sure that each post is informative and contributes to the forum. People will pick up on this right away. They will know that you are an authentic contributor. Just posting your ads to forums will tarnish your reputation, unless the forum allows it. When someone reads your post and clicks on your link, you will get traffic to your blog.

9. Design a useable, eye appealing blog.

It is a worthwhile investment to host your own blog rather than using free blog hosting. It would also be a good investment to take the time to create a visually appealing blog. There are many designers who can design a custom blog for you. You also want to make sure that it is easy to navigate your blog. Don't over clutter your blog with widgets and advertising. Do some research on blog usability and apply what you are learning to your blog. The time and money that you invest in a useable and eye appealing blog will result in traffic.

10. Get one way links to your site.

Submit your blog to all the blog and RSS directories. If you don't have time to submit to all these sites, there are services you can pay to submit your site. You can also get one way links by doing a search for "Add link" "(your target market key word)" and submitting your link to those directories. One of the best ways to get one way links is to write amazing content. This will cause other blogs and websites to link to your blog. High quality posts are known as "link bait." Once you create a great post be sure and social bookmark it to all the main directories. It takes a lot of time to write quality content, but a good "link bait" piece can cause your traffic to explode.

About the Author:
Join Jeff Newman's Ezine and receive "Create A Website Traffic Explosion in 10 Days" and a collection of other special reports, by sending an email to mailto:ib411@aweber.com.
