Sourcebooks announces books based on a popular American daytime drama...

Are you a day time drama fan?

More specifically, are you a Days Of Our Lives Fan?

Sourcebooks announces it's plan to publish a whole line of books inspired by the American daytime drama, Days Of Our Lives.

You can read all about it HERE.

Now, if you know anything about the DOOL fandom, you will know that the fans of said show are highly competitive when it comes to their favorite couples and story lines. There has been at least one story line that a portion of fans have been calling for and clearly is not going to happen in the way that particular group would like. Publishing this line of books would be the perfect vehicle for that story line and I can absolutely see other dramas - both Daytime and Primetime - following suit here.

Recently, actor James Franco did a series of artworks that tied into his story line on the show General Hospital as well.

Kudos to Sourcebooks! They seem to be on the cutting edge of trends and are very savvy about what people want. Case in point - Austen Mania! Sourcebooks is a leading publisher - if not THE leading publisher - of Austenesque books. The writers who publish with Sourcebooks are in every book retailer I frequent. We, the readers, get all the benefits of their foresight that is for sure!

My Dearest Mr. Darcy: An Amazing Journey into Love Everlasting

Another highly romantic and delightfully easy to read offering from Sharon Lathan. Once again, we are invited into the lives of Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy and his lovely wife, Elizabeth and what a dreamy and loving journey it is...

The love birds are off on some adventures together (which are not only enjoyable reading, but full of historical tidbits. You will learn something about this era in History)and are also looking forward to the arrival of their first born child. Also present, as in the previous novels, are the supremely handled cast of supporting characters that Mrs. Lathan has given us to enjoy almost as much as Darcy and Lizzy. From family members to newly introduced friends, we get to visit with all of them. I remain an ardent fan of Dr. Darcy as I think he is a wonderfully imagined and unusual character. Dr. Darcy is a much needed anchor and family link in the life of Fitzwilliam Darcy. The scenes between the two men are touching and will make you fall for both characters even more.

Among the most touching and vivid scenes in book are the birthing scenes and arrival of the Darcy baby. Mrs. Lathan draws on her real life knowledge both as a Mother and as a RN who works with newborn babies to bring us right there with Lizzy. If you have had a baby, you can relate and if you haven't had a baby, you will have a very good idea of what giving birth is like. A word of caution though....your partner likely has *no hope* of living up to the example that Darcy sets as an impending father. He's amazing. The birthing scenes and the scenes directly after are some of the most endearing and well written of any book I have read in this genre. Expertly executed and unforgettable!

Through it all, the characters remain true to their core personalities. Darcy still reverts to being stern and ill humored at times. Elizabeth is still lively, impertinent and manages to bring out the best in Darcy when he needs it most. At the center of this story are an iconic couple who have captured the hearts of readers for decades. Their story continues with the Darcy Saga in a very romantic, sweet and uplifting fashion. You just cannot help but love these characters as they are written by this author. Sharon Lathan has a true vision for the Darcys in a happy and highly amorous marriage that she never deviates from. It is a nice diversion from some of the unhappy and delusional places we sometimes find this couple in other renderings of their story.

Well researched, lovingly crafted and beautifully written! Happy reading Darcy fans!!

Hello Bookloving friends!!

Well, the holiday season is upon us and we know that everyone gets busy this time of year, but we would like to remind you to stop by once in a while and say hi!! We would also like to remind you to stay safe this holiday season.

In December we will be holding another OPEN HOUSE on the board with limited viewing of the board. If you have friends who share the same tastes in books, or just a love of books and reading, please send them to us, we would love to extend our little family/group out further and make new friends....we don't need a hundred or so friends, we are a small group after all, we would just like to add a few more friends to the circle.

Our annual cull will begin sometime in the new year, please be aware that if you have NOT been on in the previous months or posted anything you may be up for discussion...this EXCLUDES those of you who check in or have contacted Jen, Marja or Karol or have been an active poster in the past. Remember, we are an active group and we do have rules concerning these. We are working to make this a fun board for everyone, but we need YOU in order to do this.

We wish to extend birthday wishes out to tdcheck on December 9 and susant on December 10....we wish your celebrations are joyful!!!

The New Moon Movie has premiered to much anticipation and delight to many fans. If you have seen the movie and would like to share your thoughts and opinions, stop by the Twilight Saga discussion board and share them...remember, many have not seen this movie yet, so remember to tag all new discussions with **SPOILER ALERT** !!

We would also like to remind you concerning New Moon that we all have our differing opinions on the movie and Jacob and Edward...please use respect for others' opinions when commenting on the movies or the books.

I enjoyed the second story in Sherrilyn Kenyon's League series, BORN OF FIRE.

It had all the elements that I love where Sherrilyn is concerned.

Her characters leap off the page at you, and you can always see the journey they take to their own personal redemption.

Syn and Shahara are two very special people moving through the galaxy finding the answers that they both seek.

Again, this is one of those stories by Sherrilyn that you cannot put down. I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of paranormal romance, or Sherrilyn herself!!

BORN OF ICE was released on December 1, 2009 and I will review that as soon as I can...

I will also be reviewing J.R. Ward's COVET and LOVER AVENGED very soon as well...so please stay tuned!!

As everyone knows, I am a HUGE Sherrilyn Kenyon fan.

When BORN OF NIGHT came out, I had a bit of uncertainty in going away from the Dark Hunters/Were-Hunters/Dream Hunters series...this was a different journey that SK was taking.

Originally, the series was written BEFORE the advent of the Dark Hunters series...

This is the blog post she wrote about Nykyrian and Syn, her heroes in BORN OF NIGHT and BORN OF FIRE (which is out and I will review soon):

I began to read BORN OF NIGHT, and I was hooked...couldn't put the book down. Sherrilyn once again takes you on an adventure through a new galaxy full of new friends and fun.

I could see the connection between Nykyrian and Acheron....was Nykyrian the prototype for Ash? Could be, yet completely ethralling for readers.

If you are a fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters or her alter ego Kinley MacGregor and enjoy her Knights Of Avalon series or any other series she writes, you will definately love The League. It has SK's signature writing style all over it!!

Hello Bookloving Friends!!

We would like to wish you all a HAPPY NOVEMBER!! This is the month where some of us start curling up with great reads and hot cups of something or other as we try to ignore the cold weather coming on.

Marja is slowly getting back to us. The stitches from her wrist surgery are out, and she is working on getting mobility and range of motion. Just keep her in your thoughts and prayers and in time she will be with us full time!! We love you, M!!!

We have an important issue we would like to direct your way....and it is one we have been trying to get your attention on for a VERY long time....

Many of our members HAVE NOT been on the forum in months, and many of our new members HAVE NOT even come it to say a quick "Hello" or post. We are frustrated by this because of our active member policies.

We try to make this forum as fun as we can for ALL of you, but we cannot do that if you aren't being an active participant in the forum.

We do understand that the holidays, children, jobs and other obstacles keep you busy, and we are not saying we want you to set aside your normal life. We just ask that you drop by the forum at least once a week and post...even to say "Hello" would be nice.

If there are issues that keep you from participation, we ask that you let us know or leave the group. We don't judge you and we understand if sometimes things get hectic...you can feel free to PM Jen, Marja or Karol to let us know what is going on.

This newsletter IS NOT a substitute for coming on to the forum since there is so much that it isn't contained in the newsletter. Below is a list of members that we would like to hear from.

Now, for the rest of the story...

We would like to extend an apology to Lindy and a Be-lated HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We didn't mean to overlook your special day dearest, and we are truly sorry.

Hello Bookloving Friends!!

We hope that October is going well for all of you!

Our admin, Marja is temporarily out of commission due to complications from her wrist....please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, and she will be joining us as she can and when her wrist is comfortable enough to type. Hang in there, M! We love you!

Monday is Sharon Lathan's birthday! We all wish her a very happy day!!

We welcome iieavo to our forum! Please stop by and say hello and tell us a bit about yourself!

Our Outlander Treasure Hunt is still going on! Please stop in a play!! The hunt ends at the end of the month!

The blog has been a bit slow with the exception of our Tuesday Teasers. If you would like to join our blog team and add book reviews, please contact Jen and she will help you with that.

Discussions for AN ECHO IN THE BONE are still going on...Jen is doing a wonderful job hosting the discussions. Check them out and add your thoughts.

Please remember that all discussions for ECHO are marked with a SPOILER alert for those who do not wish to read further. If you are coming in and checking out the last 25 posts in the forum at the bottom, please keep this in mind.

Discussions for the rest of the series are still going on if you wish to continue with them. We welcome your thoughts and opinions.

The countdown to Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series is set to come out in November. We can and will discuss all of the movies and books. Keep in mind that the movies have their own board so that they do not bog down our movies board. Stephanie's books are in our HOT AUTHORS boards.

Karol has added the movie THE NOTEBOOK to our Movie board. If you have a favorite movie or television show, please feel free to add them to our Movies and Gogglebox boards.

Keep in mind, the Robin Hood discussions are still being chatted about since the third season is in America. If any of our British fans have seen it, please keep from spoilers...we are having fun seeing what will happen next and a few of us have already seen parts of the end of the series. Keep in mind, this subject is a ghost of the boards that are hosted elsewhere.

We would like to remind our members to stop in and say hello on occasion. We have not heard from many since last July and as late as December of last year. We are an active group and would like your help in keeping the forum fun and exciting for everyone. If you cannot be an active part of the group, we ask that you either contact one of the administrators or leave the group on your own. We aren't trying to be a pain, just asking for a bit help from you.

We do appreciate the efforts and contributions of those who are with us on a daily and weekly basis...please continue to brighten our days with your thoughts and opinions.
