Blogging has been around for quite some time now, and it seems like the teenagers have almost become addicted to this method of communication. This generation uses this medium to express their deepest feelings about their emotions, opinions and discussions of the latest fads.

I suggest doing a search for Blogger, and you will quickly understand why this simple to use blog format is used by so many successful promoters, website owners and webmasters. Best of all, Blogger is free.

There are many other blogs that may work just as well, however, why not go for the easiest, most effective method right from the beginning of your blogging journey? I personally, have dropped all other blog formats and use the Blogger format exclusively.

I post to over 45 blogs each and every day, with outstanding results. This has been a powerful boost to the popularity of my business offerings, as well as for my clients site, that I promote to Top Positions on Google. More than one of these blogs holds a consistent number one position, page one ranking with Google and other fine search engines. These blogs generate countless links and back links to my personal website. You should be very keyword specific in your titles on your blogs and laser focus to a particular segment of the market. Don't deviate from your keywords to far because you will start losing the effectiveness of your blog. One key feature here is the ease of publishing your blog and the results will appear almost immediatelly. It is suggested you hand index your blog URL directly to Google, Yahoo and Bing. The robot spiders will crawl your blog and any links in your blog, rather quickly.

Place related links within your blogs, which will help you gain popularity with the search engines. Different types of links can be included here. You can include links to some of your other blogs, affiliate links, political links etc., I think you're beginning to see the advantages of blogging and how linking within the blogs will work together in promoting your opportunity, all for free.

Don't forget to add the comment widget, when building your blog. Readers of your blogs will respond to your comment section with both positive and negative feedback. Customer feedback will help you build a better business. Having a comment section will help you to adjust your website to become more user friendly. This will be a definate plus for your blog popularity.

Many other bloggers will link to your blog(s) if the blog is well written and informative. A lot of bloggers will notice you have a lot of content being added to your site on a regular basis. Many users will link to your blog using an RSS feed. This is a good thing. Any method that will help you generate links, back links, reciprocal links and cross links plus help you gain popularity with the search engines has to be good. This will also help you gain better page rankings with the search engines. A win, win situation.

If you're lucky with all the hard work you're doing, you may end up on page one, on one of the major search engines. This is a good thing, because the general public users normally won't go any further than page one, or in some cases maybe page two. The harder you work the luckier you get. Make sure you place any of your articles in the correct category of each directory, which will best describe the topic of your writings. You may want to do some research before you decide on what is and/or is not considered as duplicate content.

You may write different articles on many different topics. It is best to try to have different categories that you publish to for different aspects of your business. If you writing about your business opportunity then write an article that is relevant to what your selling. If you have an e-book that you're promoting, if the e-book is not relevant to your business, then put your article in a different category. This is not rocket science; however, it is advisable to use good judgment in your postings.

If you're new to internet marketing, many of the challenges can be overwhelming at times. You may be a whiz on the computer and know all the shortcuts, special keyboard characters and even design programs for a living, however, if you don't know how to market, online your chances of online success is diminished substantially.

I did some consulting recently with a computer engineer, and he had designed one of the most amazing sites that I have ever had the privilege to review. His major concern was, he could never get a good page ranking on any of the search engines. He was stuck on page four of Google, and he was getting little to no traffic.

After a careful review of the source code in his site, I advised him to change nothing on the home page itself, but to change three things in his source code. By modifying the title to include some keywords, by changing the wording in the meta tag description, and re-arranging and adding some keywords and keyword phrases, I felt certain this would be the key to earning a higher page rank.

We then proceeded with a major marketing campaign and saw results almost immediately. In less than two weeks his site was on page one of Google and has stayed on page one consistently for over a year. He now enjoys a page one page rank with a #1 position in a very competitive category on the major search engines.

What we did was go back to some of the basics of optimization and saw results that had not been seen since the site was created almost six years before. The old saying "keep it simple....stupid" applies perfectly in this scenerio. When we try to over complicate a process, negative things start to happen.

You may have the best product or service ever designed by mankind, however, if your marketing campaign is not structured so the average Joe User who visits your site. If the users can't make sense of your information, your marketing efforts are all in vain. The same applies to the responses of the search engines. If you over complicate your site or don't follow the algorithms of the search engines the robot spiders will not come back to visit your site for a very long time. When this happens your page ranks will fall like a rock, and so will the possibilities of making a sales.

We've discussed in past articles the importance of structuring your website to conform to the search engines guidelines and how important it is to make your site user friendly. Both of these parts of the puzzle must be correctly composed to get the maximum efficiency when promoting your website. If you don't understand this concept, seek the advice of a professional.

It's imperative that you design your entire site around keywords. From the title of your site to the closing summary paragraph, you must write your content to include keywords and keyword phrases that are relevant to your business opportunity. This may be an area that your unfamiliar with or you're not good at, so don't hesitate to seek the services of a professional who is experienced in the type of writing.

Don't assume that the users who visit your site know anything about your product or service. Here's a suggestion that will help simplify this process. Build your website around your primary keywords and phrases, not the other way around. Do a great deal of research when choosing your keywords. There are several programs on the internet that will help you with this process, however, to get one of these programs that is really effective, you're going to have to shell out some cash. Some of these programs are ridiculously overpriced, so use good judgement when making your choice.

My suggestion is to take a look at the Google Keyword Tool, which is a free service. Make sure you understand the purpose of the Google tool before you build your website with the information you research. If you don't understand this part of the process, seek some help from a professional marketing specialist.

Once you have done your research and you've built your website, you must create a promotional campaign to promote your business opportunity. This part of the process is probably the most important part of promotion. Design a plan, and work that plan. If you are remotely uninformed about how to do the promoting online, then seek the help of a professional immediately. You can have the best looking site on the internet (like the one we referred above) but if you don't know how to promote your site, your chances are slim to none of achieving a successful outcome.

Many times, consulting with individuals and businesses, a lot of the terms we often use regarding online marketing are not fully understood. One good example of this confusion is when we discuss the term web site design and (SEO) search engine optimization. These two functions are two very distinct phases of marketing that must be understood before you can proceed effectively with either of these issues.

A website is a very brief description of what your product or service is all about, and most people are informed enough to throw some form of site on the web. This doesn't mean that anyone will ever see your website, and you probably won't even make a sale. This is where the term of search engine optimization often referred to as SEO, comes into play. There are a few terms we must be clear on before we go much further.

There's a twofold purpose for keeping your site simple. The search engines love simplicity. First of all, keyword rich titles and content for the search engines, and secondly for the users who visit your site, so they can experience the ease of navigation with a simple website design.

Search engines don't read flash, pictures or scrolling text. Junk code and junk content slows down the spiders when the robots come to visit your site. Use java script only if needed for a specific function….the search engines don't read java script either.

A limited amount of images is acceptable, however, to many images will slow the page loading times significantly which in turn will slow the spiders down. You can reduce the negative aspects of this by putting the images in a style sheet so any multiple use of the same image can be preloaded for each page.

Another thing that will help the spiders crawl your site promptly and effectively is to use ALT tags. To conform to validated code standards, every image must have an ALT tag. You can use keywords in your ALT tags….this is just one more way to maximize your source code.

In the source code of your website there are three critical tags that must be used to help the search engine spiders capture the full information about your website. The heading tag is extremely important for the search engines. This is the information that appears when you query a specific term and the search post the results of websites that meet that particular search term.

The next important function is the use of meta tags. This is a description of what your site is all about, which appears just below the title in the query results from the search engines. There are some search engines that doesn't put much weight on meta tags anymore and don't read them; however, there are more engines that read the tags than don't, so I would recommend using ALT tags, at least until all search engines are no longer using ALT tags in their algorithms.

The third thing that you must list is the keywords and keyword phrases. This is where the search engines match the search queries that users are typing in the search bar to sites that have those keywords in their source codes. It is recommended by some of the major promoters that 20 to 25 keywords are adequate for the search engines. Long tail keywords may be something you may consider later on, once you understand the purpose of long tail keywords.

You must have a good balance of keyword rich anchor text in the content area of your web page. This is a clear signal to the search engines to spider your entire website. This will result in every page of your website being indexed by the search engines.

Make sure you include a sitemap of your website, linking to all pages of your site and keep it up to date. This helps the spiders to search for all the links and pages that otherwise could be overlooked by the spiders. This is a roadmap you're giving the spiders to make it easy to find what is important for promoting your opportunity by using the latest in optimization strategies.

Although privacy statements and contact us pages are not required for search engine purposes, it is a good idea to give full and fair disclosure to the users who visit your site. Most users won't bother to read these comments, however, you are covering good business practices which could save you a lot of grief later on.

Most people I talk to, tell me they've thought about starting their own home based business several times during their lifetime. They don't have any concept on how to build a business. There're so many different kinds of business opportunities out there, they don't know where to even start in the process. There are some basic factors that we must address before any recommendations can be made about your business future. A simple business plan should be developed to establish a road map of where you want to go with your new venture. You should establish how much time you're willing to devote to the everyday operation of the business. You must consider how much money you must generate per month to consider your venture, a viable and successful venture.

If you're going to pursue an online business, then you must acquire a domain name for your website. Domains can be purchased for anywhere from $5.00 per year on up. Choose wisely here, because an expensive domain doesn't necessarily mean the domain is better in any way. Choose a domain that portrays a good description of your business if at all possible. If your first domain choice is not available, then look for other keyword rich titles that are associated with your business theme. Good domain names are becoming harder to get, so just hang in there and you will find a good name after a few attempts.

You're going to have to acquire a web hosting service that will provide good support if you have any technical issues. Make sure there's enough bandwidth and disk space to host your website if you start getting a lot of traffic? There are some very affordable hosting services available, so it is best to shop around.

Now comes the interesting part of this process. You need a website that is both user friendly and search engines friendly if you want to promote your business opportunity effectively. This friendly combination is critical if you plan to stay in business online very long.

You must consider what you're going to name your product. Presentation of your product with a good professional image is imperative. This may include logos, advertisements, labels and presentation on your website.

Pricing is important in every situation. You must be competitive or you will price yourself right out of the market. Be very clear on whether taxes are charged on the products or if shipping fees apply. Make if very simple for the customer to find these aspects on the PayPal invoice or what- ever other type of payment schedule you may use. Provide a SKU number if available.

The next issue we must address is the process of promoting your opportunity. This is an ongoing process if you want to drive traffic to your site. Without traffic coming to your site on a regular basis…..you will not make any sales. No Sales…..and you're out of business.

I learned how to build my own simple website without all the frills of flash, scrolling text and tons of pictures. I presented my opportunity exactly as it was with factual information about my product and answered my phone calls and responded to all my e-mails and conducted my business professionally. Having stuff in our life is great to a point; however, it's easy to become over zealous on accumulating stuff and never achieve true success in our life. A well balanced grasp on all aspects of our life should be considered in this process. Our personal, spiritual, business and family life all are important, but must have different priorities to maintain a good balance, for us to be successful.

It doesn't matter which area of our lives we put first on our list, there are two factors that will be decisive in our future and the success we achieve. The commitment we have to be successful and the determination to pursue our dreams are the two controlling factors that will determine if we succeed or not. When writing for your website, newsletters or marketing articles you should use good grammar and always check for correct spelling. Your writing must come across to the reader as being well researched and totally professional. This will help you build a bond between you and the reader which will develop into a reputation that you are truly an expert regarding your topic and business opportunity.

In all of your writings, always include your links pointing the user to your website, ezines, newsletters or other articles regarding like subjects. The title tag in the source code of your web site is where you generate the title that appears on the internet when a search query is made. When you query a search term in the search box of your favorite browser, the clickable link that appears is exactly what you instructed the search engines to put there. The search engine places a substantial amount of weight on how this aspect of optimization is worded and will add or deduct from your page rankings accordingly. It is imperative that you get it right if you want your SEO efforts to be effective and successful.

There are two aspects we must consider when discussing the issue of title tags, such as your page rankings gaining popularity with the search engines and the click through rate of the users. There are varied opinions on these issues, however, I want share with you in this article some of the important basics of optimization to your title tags.

There are some questions regarding the amount of characters in the title which may be considered acceptable by the search engines. Some search engines are emphatic that you should have no more than a total of sixty characters in your title while others endorse a hundred or more characters as being acceptable.

Based on my experience as a SEO Consultant, a short, concise, easy to read, keyword rich title is the most acceptable by the search engines and will earn you top page ranking quicker than any other single factor of optimization. A character count of anything between 60 and 100 characters will be extremely powerful if you word your title correctly. The title must be easy for the user to understand as well as being search engine friendly. The Title Tag is considered by many experts as the eyes to your web site content, and is one of the most important single element of optimization.

It's imperative that you include your main keywords in this title. A total of three or four keywords in your title will make a huge difference in the popularity of your site. The structure here should be some form of a specific message of what your site is all about. Do'nt repeat any keyword in your title, or the search engine may consider it as keyword stuffing and penalize you with lower page rankings. This small issue can evolve into a major set back of your web site with some of the search engines.

You must capture the attention of your user rather quickly, so make your title appealing enough for the person viewing your information so they will click on your link and enter your site for more information. If at all possible you should focus your main keyword as near the center of your keyword rich title as possible. Your title should reach out and grab the attention of the user and search engine robots. The title is where the user will determine whether or not they are going to look further at your business opportunity. The search engines puts a huge amount of weight on this aspect of your web site and may move your ranking up and down accordingly. A good balance of user friendly and search engine friendly is important here....so spend a little more time with this area of optimization to get it right.

In my experience I have witnessed some sites that didn't even have a title tag on their site and the site owner couldn't understand why they had no traffic. A good rule of thumb here would be....not to put any word in your title that may be considered as a non keyword related word in your web content.

Never use all upper case characters in your title tag. Use upper case for the first letter only of each word in your title tag…..do not bold your title, and don't use italics, underscores or underlines. The use of hypens and pipes are acceptable characters you can use within a title.

If you want to maximize your search engine rankings use a unique title on each page of your website. By using different keyword rich titles on each page you can get recognition for multiple keywords enhancing your chances of Top Positions on Google and other fine search engines in more than one category.

If you have access to more than one text editor, check the your spelling after each change you make in your site and make sure the spelling, punctuation and structure of your site it acceptable. This is extremely important in the Title Tag, Meta Tag and Keyword areas of your source code. A misspelled word will turn off some readers rather quickly and those spelling errors may be considered by some to be unprofessional. To many misspelled keywords in your title tag or your web site will be a major disaster for you with the search engines.
