A Brand New Year

2015-01-11T06:18:00.000-08:00

9 January 2015, Friday

When you can find a bff of opposite gender, and is the bestfriend if your bff (Qiu Fen), someone who deserves my mother's (Cherie Tan) home-cooked 红鸡蛋猪脚面线 when bff and I didn't even get on our birthdays, someone bff and I attempted baking macarons the whole night (thus the pathetic little failed macaron cake at the top right hand corner), last but not least, someone whom I share all my secrets and happiness with together with le bff. To many more of our lights out htht (sorry that I'm always the first to fall asleep) and ton-chatting nights (sorry I still need 2 hours of sleep), happy birthday to the boy whom I held hands with since primary one (15 years alr omg!). Love you!

10 January 2015, Saturday

Ton-chatting until 7am I toh, the rest and mummy were still surviving, with no sleep. and I woke at 9am for facial with Lok at Spa Club @ Beach Road.

Glowing faces having lunch @ Yoogane (요가네 pronounced yoo-ga-nay).

There is free flow ‘salad’ bar where there is unlimited kimchi, but the variety (only 4) and the way the present them is not as pretty. Nonetheless, we ordered sides - cheese, kimchi fried rice and omu roll, personal fave!

Maccha House to talk about life. Err... Hahah!

I personally love green tea/ matcha, especially matcha, but I don't really like the taste of the drinks we ordered, too blend for my liking.

11 January 2015, Sunday

Unglam Lok. We went back hall early to unpack our stuffs for the final semester-stay in hall before heading from West to East. Poor Lok, traveled from East to West, then to East then back to West.

The year before last year I went New York to celebrate my 21st, so I didn't manage to catch the Hallxi's productions, and this year, finally got a chance to support them. Good job guys, congrats for completing the show zaver actors!

#SHANXTRAVELOK: JB + BKK

2015-01-09T20:37:00.000-08:00

3 January 2015, Saturday

Day 0 - JB

Randomly, Lok wanted to cross-over the causeway to JB, and so we did! :)

Stayed over at Lok's place and his parents were so kind to send us to the airport at 4.30am in the morning :) McDonald's breakfast with Lok and Lokfam before boarding the plane :)

4 January 2015, Sunday

Day 1 - BKK

We got our passport covers during our Malacca trip last year :)

Got our phone cards right outside the airport for TBH 299 (7 Days with Data Roaming) and zoom off to...

CHATUCHAK

Eat. Shop. Grow fat. Be tanned.

Hotel @ Budacco

We originally had a blue deluxe room, but we upgraded to an executive room at the top floor, which is in PINK! :) This is the only executive room in the hotel, and you can't find any other executive rooms for such a really cheap price. The hotel was hard to locate, but the supervisor and bell boy came out to look for us and even carried our luggage back for us! The service is really good, I must say, but they don't provide adequate toiletries. They only provide shampoo and bath gel, so end up Lok and I had to go get our toothbrush and toothpaste :/

If you don't do massage in BKK, YOU COME BKK FOR WHAT.

For TBH 200 - 1 hour foot + arm + back + head massage. SAY WHUT.

We walked from our place to Siam, which was about a 20 minute-walk if you don't stop by to see see look look eat eat. But how could we not... So we finally reached LOFT!!! I visited LOFT when I was in Japan and I was really excited that BKK has LOFT. Sadly, I didn't manage to get my 2015 planner... :( still, great night walking with Lok :)

5 January 2015, Monday

Day 2 - BKK

Second breakfast after our hotel buffet (which we didn't eat much) - the famous SOI 19 BKK THAI WANTON MEE (TBH 50). To be honest, it was so-so. Not worth the queue under the scorching sun. Go when there's short or no queue if you still want to give it a try! We headed to Platinum Fashion Mall and Pratunam Market, like a less than 10 minutes walk from our place and walked the whole day and had lunch at the foodcourt, almost all food are slurp-slurps. Crepes at S$1+, how to don't eat!

We went back to our hotel to put our shopping loots and washed up again for the night...

After You Dessert Cafe @ Siam was superb! The recommended Shibuya Honey Toast is a totally must-try! Lok, who's like most guys, don't really like sweet stuffs, even praised the holy toast for being so yummy! With our happy tummies, we went to Pla Thong Mookata @ Victory Monument in Central Bangkok. For only TBH 159, like S$6?! You get a Thai buffet... When I read about the reviews online, the price looks really affordable, but... If you are into really hygienic food, then urgh nope, likewise for all the street food. We didn't really go for second round, except for the coconut ice cream dessert :P

6 January 2015, Tuesday

Day 3 - BKK

Walkable from our hotel too...

HELLO. 3-STOREYS OF HELLO KITTY.

CANZ I MOVE HERE PLZ.

I think my personal photographer was a little bored with the pinkish place, when the model (me, pui) wants to take some pictures at every corner of my palace. Anyone who wants to visit my palace, please drop me an email at shaniwannagotoyourkittypalaceplease.hellokitty.com

Even so, I treat my photographer very nice cos - (tshirt print)

HE IS THE MAN

Opps, sorry.

BUT SHE IS THE BOSS

Asiatique

Too much food in BKK.

Should really try the Mama Monkey @ Asiatique, it's really special banana fries, nomz at a healthier ingredient :P We went for a 15 minutes fish spa, I just wasted my money screaming in there. Then we went for the lady boy show, which was like THB 1200 for an hour... But it was an eye-opening experience! Mummy told me I watched it N times when I was younger, like in primary school, how I know...

"Missing those days when I was still a king, where I had thousands of women. Meet my concubines. Here's Sally and Lily."

NEVER DIE BEFORE THIS GUY.

7 January 2015, Wednesday

Day 4 - BKK - SG

Last day let's go!

Last minute shopping at Platinum Fashion Mall and Pratunam Market again, and a 40-minutes train ride to the airport for dinner before boarding the plane back :)

Our loots! Okay, it's not a lot, some people probably buy this much just in a day, but oh wells, just let us take this mandatory shot since we traveled to BKK.

Our polaroids for the trip :D

Reached Singapore the next day and cabbed home tired.

Fell sick and Lok made porridge and barley for me for brunch :)

"I didn't see it coming, but I wouldn't want to start 2015 in any other way. And the new semester begins."

Hello, 2015

2015-01-01T07:30:00.000-08:00

HAPPY 2015 EVERYONE ;)

31 December 2014, Wednesday

Met up with Lok, Qiu and Bryan for lunch @ Fukuichi @ Triple One Somerset

I do visit town quite often, but not to Triple One Somerset. I usually go there for Fairprice Finest, which has now changed to Cold Storage. Anyhow, the food was okay-okay for the price, but I would recommend Qiu's Terriyaki Chicken and Lok's Salmon set. Oh! And the chef recommendation (below)

Lunch was great, especially it being on the last day of the year, spending with people I care about. Except that Weilong abandoned us the last minute, must be because the night before they stayed at my house until really late, lol.

Dessert @ Häagen Dazs @ Orchard Ion.

Desserts are girls' bestfriends. No matter how much we want to diet, or how full we are, we will always have a room for dessert. But, sorry, Häagen Dazs' serving was too small to satisfy Qiu and me. So I suggested that my house has 8 tubs of Movénpick, how 'bout that?

Qiu and I got crazy and had a tattoo together.

And yay! She's wearing the Tiffany & Co. bracelet I got for her 21st! :)

★★★★/ ★★★★★

Still prefer the first one, but this is not bad too.

Lok went for this movie even though he hasn't watch the first two parts, and it was alright for him. He kinda like it. So I guess it's okay not to have watched the first two and just go ahead with Night at the Museum 3.

1 January 2015, Thursday

Lok and I headed home before 12mn to spend the first moment of the brand new year with mummy.

So we were peacefully fixing this (below) past the 12mn strike. The last 5 minutes, I went to on the tv for some sound effects/ atmosphere, lol.

Lok is totally obsessed with this.

Like he made 90% of these, and I destroyed the cookie monster with a kick (unintentionally) and he asked me to remake :'( but he's really excited about fixing them!

Lok shook me up at 8am and forced me down to the market so that I could get the ingredients for Hokkien mee, which I promised I will cook for him... someday. So today's the 'someday'.

Ta-da!!! I can cook please.

Although the chef at home is still chef Lok.

And we prepared dinner together ;)

My new year is that simple and blessed ;)

I do this every year:

2011, 2012, 2013, so now I'm gonna do a quick summary, really only on the highlights of my 2014.

To be honest, spending Valentine's alone after not spending it alone in 8 years might be something big to me. Quick trip home to Malacca which was actually with Lok, but no pictures of him 'cause we were tryna stablise our relationship then. Promoting to year 2. First beach club, and I think I'm really tired of drinking and clubbing already. Moving on from not-Pervin and finally able to accept Lok's love and love him as much as he loves me and finally self-disclosuring it after everyone's guess about him when we went to Wheeler's Yard. Making another milestone, not-just-21, I'm feeling twenty-too. And being really happy this December, haven't feel this happy in a long time - Part I, Part II.

2014 was full of fun, then sad times. Making through it wasn't easy for me but I did it. I would say 2014 sucked, but nah, just more lessons learnt. 2015 would definitely be great and I wouldn't want to spend the final month in 2014 welcoming 2015 in any other way. Grateful for the companion and love to my besfriends, Lok and mummy ;)

2015 IS GONNA BE SO FREAKIN' A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!

McDonald's (first ever) Pyjamas Party! (+ Charity)

2014-12-26T03:12:00.000-08:00

HEY FRIENDS!

Event: McDonald's pyjamas party

Date: 28 December 2014, Sunday

Time: 12nn - 5pm

Location: Bishan Park McDonald’s

Dear friends,

Did you know? (I think you already heard about it)... Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Earlier this year, during March, McDonald’s Singapore piloted its All Day Breakfast on the National Breakfast Day and voila! 30% increase in guest count for breakfast! Since it's the holidays seasons, we are all sleeping late... waking late... and poof! No more McBreakfast :'(

You're cordially invited to the aforementioned event to preview McDonald's All Day Breakfast, which will take place from 1-4 January 2015 to bring New Year joy to McDonald’s breakfast-lovers!!!

On the day of the event, there will be customised theme bedroom areas for you to take pictures! To join me and other bloggers for the event, simply take a selfie/ wefie in pyjamas and Instagram it #McDPJPARTY and show us your Instagram photo when you come to receive a breakfast coupon at the event entrance! There will be complimentary sleep accessories for you to dress in theme for the party too!

You can also make donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) Singapore at the event to bring love and support to seriously ill and hospitalised children and their families. All proceeds will go to the charity’s initiatives including its “home-away-from-home” programme in which families with children who are hospitalised can stay close together.

About Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) Singapore and RMH@NUH

Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) Singapore is an independently administered charity incepted in 1989 on a simple mission – to directly improve the health and well-being of children in Singapore. In January 2013, the charity started a Ronald McDonald HouseTM (RMH) with the support of National University Hospital (NUH) Paediatric Department to provide a "home-away-from-home" for families to stay close to their hospitalised child. In the past, RMHC Singapore has helped more than 900 needy children in Singapore with their medical, surgical and rehabilitative treatment cost amounting to over S$5 million in grants. In 2014, RMHC Singapore has also committed S$379,000 in its Grant Programme where funding is provided to support projects presented by various public hospitals and non-profit/voluntary welfare organisations that align with their mission of creating, finding, and supporting programmes that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families. RMHC Singapore is currently at the planning stages of a Ronald McDonald Family Room at NUH to cater to families whose children are receiving treatment in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. RMHC Singapore funds its operations through the support of donations from the general public and well- wishers in Singapore through various fundraisers and the collection from RMHC Singapore donation boxes that are placed at all McDonald’s restaurants nationwide. Being one of the major corporate mission partners of the charity, McDonald’s also contributes 5 cents from every sale of its Happy Meals to the charity.

For more information, visit http://rmhc.org.sg/.

You can celebrate New Year Joy with McDonald’s All Day Breakfast (above menu) from 1-4 January 2015 till 5pm in the stated McDonald's restaurant below.

Christmas Week

2014-12-25T07:24:00.000-08:00

18 December 2014, Thursday

Met up with Hot & Gorgeous for a meal at Timbre @Art House.

The food was good as usual, in all Timbre, but the service sucks.

We ordered 2 pizzas and a wing but each came like 30 minutes after we finished one.

When we provided the feedback through their iPads, the service crew came over to tell us off.

When to reward good points for the feedback and when for the lousy ones.

We were so pissed! But luckily Jiahou went to talk to the person again (nicely) before we left.

How could someone with such attitude be on the service line?

Nonetheless, we didn't let the incident affect our girls-night-out!

#noedit #toolazy #embracemyfatcheeks

Received a watch as a belated birthday presents from the girls.

And as usual, celebrating Jiaying (9 December) and my birthday (6 December) together!

No candle, still gotta download the app myself...

Hahaha! Thanks girls for the night anyways! :)

19 December 2014, Friday

Decided to move my advertorials + blogging events to http://shanellecheng.blogspot.sg/ to separate work and my daily life :)

TIN's Christmas party with Sharon!

Thanks for the gifts girl!

20 December 2014, Saturday

For the first time, I went to visit Lok's family at his place to meet his family and passed them some gifts, chatted a little and flipped through his kiddo photos, so fat and cute! Hahaha!

Then, we headed to Tian Kee & Co., which wasn't too far away from his place :)

This famous piece of cheesecake that flooded instagram.

Looks: 10/10

Tastes: 5/10

The Breakfast set was cheap though - $14.90 :)

Japanese vegetarian dinner with Lok's family :)

Whatsapped mummy this photo and she was like "see how happy Lok is!"

And Lok has been waiting too long for this since he's always the one coming to my place.

But honestly, his family genes are too good.

I look like a giant with them. Lol.

Cuties outside The Cathay!

Went shopping with Lok to get his facial products and Lok sent me to meet my friends. G

ot myself a cup of Red Velvet Hot Chocolate (it's goooood!!!) 'cause I know the others were gonna drink for the night...

Weilong. Shan. CL. @ Sauce waiting for Qiu who came at 1am?

And finally! Hung out with these peeps until 4.30am and slept at 5am zzz

Thanks for the super expensive belated birthday gift CL!

21 December 2014, Sunday

Ok this is getting too much. 3 dim sums in 7 days.

Last Sunday I had Swatow dim sum with mummy, Lok and Henry.

Then now I have Swatow again with mummy, Lok, bro #2, sis-in-law #2, bro #3 and ah mm.

ah mm :)

Lok and I went to get Christmas presents for gift exchange and Ippudo for dinner! Whee!

We had to head back to hall because he has two matches of softball the next day!

22 December 2014, Monday

Ta-da! Lost one match, won one match!

Sadly, I saw the ugly faces of people, bitching about others just because their friends or themselves play better than the others. Wow, really? University? But honestly, my friends who are not in University, who are already working, feel that uni people are childish - maybe including me. lol. But, seriously.

During the evening, Lok and I went to ah Lian for dinner. Know why he's emo? Cos that plate of ah lian bee hoon... sigh! Too fattening! :(

23 December 2014, Tuesday

We stayed one more night in hall and Lok sent me back to Yishun.

I was craving for laksa, so how can I not introduce Lok the famous Yishun 928 Laksa?!

allowFullScreen="true" />

And arcade time to relieve our childhood!!!

I must say, Lok is really good in arcade games!

I mean like, I was a pro when I was a kid. Especially the driving one! But.. :'(

24 December 2014, Wednesday

My house Christmas decor!

We have a Daiso Santa hanging at our door too, warmly inviting my guests! :)

Thanks to Lok for logging this Christmas tree back and Weilong and Qiu for setting it up for me last week! :')

Presents from CL + gift exchange and got Qiu's Sephora body wash.

She passed me the wrong gift initially and it was so much better!

But she claimed that she has another proper Christmas gift for me, so ok. Forgive you.

Before we eat, phones eat first.

Lok's menu: Pumpkin soup + chicken burger + tiger prawns cherries + scallop asparagus + seafood aglio olio + salad.

Ladurée macarons + self-baked red velvet cupcakes + berries platter

3 bottles of fruity alcoholic drink + 3 small bottles of Chivas Regal + 1 big bottle of Bacardi + 1 big bottle of Moscato. Wings + popcorn chicken.

Drinking games for the night till 4am and our eyes are all closing...

25 December 2014, Thursday

Breakfast with them after the sleepover!

By me (I only made the pancakes la!), mummy and Lok.

Check out my cupcakes again. Consequences of making 20 cupcakes.

CL, Weilong and Qiu spent the whole afternoon with me chatting and doing some online tests, and finally! It became dinner time again...

Mummy came home and quickly whipped up these dishes in 30 minutes!

Qiu who initially wanted to meet her friends for dinner ended up having dinner at my place. Haha!

So, I guess my plan to lose weight during December is not feasible at all!

Nonetheless, I had a Merry Christmas, I hope you did too! :D

This is war - #FaithInXiaxue

2014-12-23T21:31:00.001-08:00

Last morning while I was still rolling on bed, Sharon texted me like "Xiaxue just bombed GC". I'm like OMG. Hurry go read The Big Gushcloud Exposé on her blog.

Credits: Xiaxue | Tomatoartbook

I have been reading Xiaxue's blog since secondary school, and I must say, there's a reason why she's the Blogger Queen in Singapore. Every of her controversial topics is so intriguing and I'll never get sick of reading them. I'm a person who doesn't like to read wordy stuffs (story books, long-wordy blog posts, etc.), but I read every single word of what Xiaxue said in that blog post.

In summary, her blog post was about:

GC inflated their earnings to the media, but in fact, when Xiaxue went to ACRA to purchase the financial reports of GC, the hard numbers showed that GC was not earning as much as what they reported to The Straits Times.
Xiaxue went undercover to create a business identity to expose how unethical GC was by asking their bloggers to mask ads (blogging about something for clients as though it's not an advertorial, but in fact, they are paid).
GC inflated their bloggers hits. Obviously, when Xiaxue placed ads on some of the bloggers' blogs to track the hits, the hits were inflated 5 times, 10 times, and reasonably suspected that they 'purchased likes, comments, views on social media', with the stats.
The financial reports of GC, which are supposedly audited, showed that GC is heavily in debt.
Xiaxue offered help for the GC bloggers, in the end.

From the title of my blog post, obviously, I'm #teamxiaxue. It's a fact that she spent a year investigating GC, and spending money to prove her words. Unlike others who claimed "Xiaxue's a liar", how about some proofs? The most important thing a blogger needs to return and repay the support to his/her readers - TRUST. I don't think we are the "haters gonna hate". Most people are just pissed/ disgusted/ annoyed/ disappointed with what GC and its bloggers have done - making readers lose trust in them. No matter whose team you're in, or you're just someone grabbing Coke and popcorn for the show, at least support the right one.

TIN Christmas Party! (Ft. Facts of Christmas)

2014-12-19T00:42:00.000-08:00

HO HO HO!

Christmas day (25 December) is actually to celebrate the birth of Jesus. But many non-Christians, like me, still celebrate it with gift exchanges and feasting out! I'm not sure if it's true, but I heard that Jesus wasn't actually born on the 25 December, no one knows when, it's just a date to celebrate his presence, so 25 December is the deemed Jesus-born date. Is that true?
Santa Claus we see today is created by The Coca-Cola Company! Like I think there was Santa Claus long ago, but the red-white design was actually depicted by Coca-Cola's brand! Did you realise? It's their brand colour! Actually, some kids in Europe still receive presents on Saint Nicholas' Day instead, which falls on the 6 or 19 of December. My birthday! Give me more gifts!
Boxing day falls on 26 December, the day after Christmas. That's when all the sales to clear the Christmas gifts stocks comes in! Last year, I went to the best place on Earth to shop on Boxing day - WOODBURY PREMIUM OUTLET IN NEW YORK! So, good time to get more gifts stocked up!

Okay, actually all those are just of my knowledge about Christmas. I just know more about eating and receiving gifts during the best month of the year - December! :)

So I met up with Candy and went to TIN's X'mas party with Sharon Heng, but she was late, haha!

We are in Mario caps 'cause she wanted to be twinnies, lol.

First time ever in my life, I physically won a lucky draw.

Thanks William! :D And for the food and drinks you prepared!

Actually the one and only time I won a lucky draw online was from Bong Qiu Qiu. Haha!

Just realised my face looks like mian bao chao ren - 面包超人

Gift exchange and got Shaun's presents, whee! :)

Thanks Shaun!

Vain (bloggers + Only Aesthetics) girls! :)

Trista (far right) was so well-dressed for the event! Looks like the rest of us were under-dressed :'(

Had a chance to know so much more about aesthetics!

Thanks poly bff for the birthday + Christmas gifts!

All Hello Kitties! :D

Thanks All A Flutter for the pretty pictures at the photobooth with the other bloggers!

Blogger mummy Danessa, Blogger fitness Shannon, and all the young little girls! :)

Thanks TIN for hosting the bloggers get-together session and Merry Christmas everyone! :)

I can't be happier this weekend! :D

2014-12-15T03:54:00.000-08:00

13 December 2014, Saturday

Pardon my wake up face.

Woke up early to satisfy mummy's cravings for Dim Sum.

Credits to Lok's search at the new Tim Ho Wan outlet in Kallang/ Lavender! :D

Since it was the first time all three of us were at Tim Ho Wan, we ordered tons of food, obviously beyond what you see here. But honestly, the only thing I think it's worth trying is the special Baked Bun with BBQ Pork. Everything else is normal and overpriced. I would only recommend you 'try once and forget about it', though it's a one-star michelin. Still, it's personal preference, though the three of us concluded the same thing.

Then we headed to Spa Club @ Beach Road, where mummy is a long-term VIP for facial and massage, whee :D

And after detoxing the face, we are all ready for Tom Yam steamboat @ 鲜得来 again.

Hahaha! I love the service there. Although the service crews are mainly from Mainland China, but, too good the service. Except for one auntie, brr. Overall, ok for steamboat gathering! :D

Went to visit ah mm after a whole day of eating, walking and doing facial, whee!

She was damn happy to see me and Lok, lol.

Haven't seen her since, secondary school days...

And please, SHE'S 74! Tell now how to maintain...

Got her a bag and tonics hamper, and she's really delighted!

Oh ya, she said I've grown taller by so much, like I'm so tall now!

Thanks! :DDDD

P.S. I'm not even 160cm... T~T

14 December 2014, Sunday

So while we were having Tim Ho Wan the morning before, Henry saw my tweet and was like, bojio dim sum! So we jio-ed him again for dim sum the next day. Tell me, will fat die me or not. So this little #ryulove came to pick me and mummy up to meet Lok, who already queued damn long for us while we were trying to get a car park slot. Thanks Lok :D

And with the people I love for breakfast, what's more to ask for.

So this dim sum place, oh gosh, so much better than Tim Ho Wan (in my personal opinion), was introduced by Henry. He whatsapped me like...

Henry: Wanna go Shan Tou for breakfast?

Me: My head ah? Wanna eat my head ah?

So apparently, I'm the only kuku who hasn't been here before. Mummy did, Lok did, Henry did.

And I love it! The atmosphere feels like the dim sum place I had in New York, and it's definitely like the true Hong Kong style. Don't like how Tim Ho Wan made it to the angmoh style for dim sum. Like hello, it's DIM SUM.

On a side note, EH THE CHINESE WORDS ARE MY HANDWRITING (IN THE PIC ABOVE), CHIO NOT! I re-write like 10 times, lol. And my eyes are not even open.

But okay, see the food then my eyes open liao.

Not all that we ordered, gluttons, hahahaha!

While mummy left for work, Henry sent his phone to repair...

Lok and I decided to go back to the place we first dated, lol.

Nothing better to do than to go Ikea.

And we bought a 1.5m christmas tress to set up at my house! Whee!!!

And here's mummy joining us for dinner again at Sushi Tei, after our Ikea/ Giant/ Pasar Malam trip!

Love the chatting session with them. Always so interesting and debatable to spice up my mundane life. Okay la, my life is not that mundane when it comes to holiday, but ya. Just saying.

So apparently, le sis (Qiu) and le bro (Weilong) waited for mummy and me to be back home for like 2 hours. And the first thing I did was to ask them help me set up my christmas tree, lol. So the whole midnight, we were setting up Christmas tree (which I'm gonna show you soon! cos we are missing the LED lights, till then, just know that I've got a Christmas tree, wheeee!), and our usual chit chat session till 4am in the morning.

Woke up to make breakfast for my le bffs, while they take pictures and send to boyfriend/ instagram. Haha, love these two little bro and sis, but oh wells, 90% of the time, I feel like I'm younger than them. Hahaha!

Y'know this weekend was really happy, like really happy.

Maybe it was my birthday wish that I wished for simple happiness, maybe it was the wishes that other wished for me, wished for my happier times ahead, putting down all the sadness, etc. Well, if I haven't been so upset the past few months, I'd probably not feel this happy now. In all, still grateful for so many things and people who has done so much on me/ for me.

Cheers to the best month of the year, :)

Think Positive

You know I'm actually a person who needs plan?

What-time-to-what-time-do-what kind.

So when I'm out of track, I'm lost.

There are advantages and disadvantages to it.

Pro: I get things done.

Con: I'd be negative for the rest of the day if anything fails right in the morning.

So this happened today.

I was supposed to chiong for my Star Wars (NTU timetable allocation) this morning, 9.30am.

I got mixed up with the timing, I woke up at 8.30am, sat right in front of my Macbook and fingers all ready. 8:59:57 I SPAMMED CLICK LIKE MAD. And guess what, I couldn't login.

When I checked again, oh, it's supposed to be 9.30am.

Then 9.30am, when I dashed in, oh great. The mod that I MC-ed couldn't be added. Yay.

And the rest of my mods? Friday free day gone, I've got school everyday. Yay.

Then all the negativity came in.

What am I doing this holiday when others are either earning money and/or building resume.

I started to feel frustrated and called Lok.

I called him at least 5 times today to complain about the timetable, ask him how, blah blah.

Then I hung up after a while cos I didn't feel like talking anymore.

Then I called again after a while, cos I was like, I need to get it out.

And I had ice-cream, and all was good. Hehe!

While I was redesigning my blog page, someone knocked.

Lok.

Came from East to North just to give me a hug and listen to me rant.

All the positivity was recharged in me.

I'm grateful and blessed to have someone who will always talk sense to me and make me feel that the World is a better place.

Just smile and be strong, let the positive take over the negative.

I'm feeling twenty, too

2014-12-08T22:08:00.000-08:00

I really don't wanna grow up.

My birthday wish is to be forever young and happy, just like when I was 5.

Kidding, I wished for GPA 5.0, eat lots of cake and get skinnier.

Last year when I was 21, I told bff Qiuqiu that it was a year I grew a lot.

Like my breakup, entering uni, going New York alone etc.

This year, I feel that I grew even more.

See and meet and get along with different people, and summoned some courage to let go certain things and people, care less about them and more about people I love and who are important to me.

So here are some, :)

3 December 2014, Wednesday

Mani Pedi. Karaoke. Shopping. Snacking. Eating. Binging.

Stayover with Sharon :)

Mille Crepes as our 22nd birthday cake ?|:)

So much to catch up with my poly bestfriend cos she's sooooo busy with all her CCA and church commitments, but still, thanks for making time for the ShaSha loves :)

This is my mani, pedi is full red (FOR THE SEASON :D)

CUTE RIGHT.

And the background is filled with my ONLY SOME OF my vanity (thanks mummy) and materiality (thanks Henry) for my early birthday gift :)

5 December 2014, Friday

It's officially the last day of the exams, and Ryu decided to meet up at Medz for dinner.

And ta-da, surprise rainbow birthday cake! :)

Thank you Ryu! :)

Spent the whole night talking about school, as usual, and I WON THE HALL 2 OTHELLO CAPTAIN, GWENLIN HO (who is my secondary schoolmate, poly Shanghai mate, NBS in Ryu!). HAHA! Never ever won Lok in othello (we always play on our phones), but yeah, I won. Probably gonna send the screenshot to hall 2 president if I can't get back Hall 11. LOL.

Back home, got Starbucks drinks and cake for 12mn...

Lok stayover to spend the 12mn strike together :)

12mn call from bff Qiu, Skype Shermaine from Taiwan.

So many friends private message (not FB message, so sincere, lol)

Thanks girlfriend, and for the Daniel Wellington watch, love it!

The usual hours of catch up and nagging.

Love you, my constant.

Lok came to fetch me to meet mummy at the secret dining place.

This boy planned and researched for the place and kept it a surprise.

He was quite stressed about the reservations.

He actually...

booked the entire place.

Until we left the place.

Hahaha!

Dinner for the night, love the Risotto, the snapper and mini hamburger.

8 December 2014, Monday

★★★/ ★★★★★

Randomly decided to catch a movie with Lok in town before meeting the rest for my birthday celebration. This movie is quite hilarious! But a little too kiddo for me to watch in the theatres. Haha! Still, I could empathise with Alexander, the feeling of how bad my day always is, and how others' seem so good... Catch it if you can! Too many good movies this holidays! :D

Japanese dinner treat by abs + Paris Baguette cake :)

And dessert :)

Thank you for the beautiful present and the birthday board.

Seems like among the 6 boards, mine's the prettiest! :D

Love the present too, thanks! :)

Love all your little heart notes and stop asking me to shave my eyebrows, you idiots.

Thanks for the night :)

And thank you Mummy for Sembonia bag, all my makeup I bought recently, hahaha!

Lok for the Swaroski necklace and Muji notebook and Qiu for the Daniel Wellington watch!

Sharon for the shoes + on-the-way-present!

Shermaine for baking a cake for me from Taiwan, and she ate it herself. Haha!

Woke up to Lok's brunch again, hehehe :)

Blessed 22 :)

22 November 2014, Saturday

So the first paper of my second year in uni, falls on a Saturday, on my best friend's birthday.

How nice.

Rushed out to meet her at Dapaolo, where I reserved right after my paper.

Thanks Peixuan for taking my books back to hall for me! :)

Initially, when I found this Italian restaurant, Dapaolo, I was kinda reluctant to go cos it sounds like 打包咯 which is takeaway in Chinese, means I'm gonna 'dapao' my mods this semester for next semester, well, which I did for one of my mods, so inauspicious! But in the end, we still went there, and I must say, it's really a wonderful place to chill!

This place has some Dempsey feel, and the service crew was really friendly and great in serving and helping me surprise Qiu, :)

Long three-hours of chatting session, pouring our hearts and souls out to catch up.

Just as I was mugging for my finals, I read about this:

Lillian Rubin (1985) has made a career of studying close relationships, particularly friendships. One of her more interesting findings is that there are two basic kinds of friends: friends of the heart and friends of the road.

Friends of the heart are people we meet who become part of us in enduring ways. They are soul mates with whom we feel deeply and permanently connected. If friends of the heart move far away from each other, they often stay in touch and visit. Even if they don't maintain regular contact, they feel deeply woven into each other's lives.

Friends of the road are friends we make and from whom we part asa we travel the road of life. We make friends wherever we are, and we provide support, companionship, fun and so forth. When they or we move, we make no effort to stay in touch or maintain any continuing sense of connection. Friends of the road are people we enjoy for a time, then leave behind.

Well, I probably know a lot of people (just as everyone else), but not everyone is down to the heart-to-heart basis. But I'm really lucky to have friends who are the friends of my heart.

Surprisingly to most people, my best friends are from my primary school! My special people like Qiufen (bff), Shermaine, Weilong, and my entire Huamin Gang, secondary school with Hot & Gorgeous and poly, I have one close special spongebob-lover - Sharon.

And now in uni, sadly, I meet more of friends of the road. I still have some friends of the heart, but it's hard.

So in all, I'm really thankful for Qiu being in my life.

HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY BBBGF ❤

EXAM WELFARE :)

Lok's liangteh, starbucks, Lok papa's snow jelly, rookie's encouraging message, mummy's homemade breakfast, etc.

One of the many meals mummy sent to hall, not just for me, not just for Lok, even for roomie and her boyfriend, the president. Thank you mummy for your endless love, and extended love for my friends :)

After dinner, we went down to the canteen to pray...

Lok ended 5 days earlier than me, but still went back to hall with me the night before my last paper cos my second last paper was 5 days away my last paper, so I went home. Like I almost planned to not go home for more than a month, but I couldn't take it anymore. I'm glad I went home...

So now, end of exams, before my birthday.

All the happy things are coming ahead :)

Exams, oh, Exams

2014-11-15T07:42:00.000-08:00

Exams are finally here, which means they will be over soon. I just can't wait.

This semester has been really though, be it schoolwork, relationship (I'm so grateful that it all got better), and friendship. Y'know how I'd always post my semesterly results in poly? Each and every module, every semester's GPA and CGPA? Apparently in uni, everyone is so much more competitive and strong here. I am too ashamed to post mine now. I feel like life in university is like an endless competition with every breathing soul. Perhaps, it's the same in the working world out there.

Sometimes, I just wish that I hadn't do that well in poly to be able to make it to uni, or if I had the courage to switch out of my "Business and Accountancy" track to do something else that I like. Perhaps study about make-up, fashion, or baking. I really admire my friends from poly who already started doing what they like in life and where they have passion in. I have a friend learning about Wedding planning (I wanna do that too!), one studying about culinary, another started a business, etc., etc. others are in universities (government/ private) studying communications, fashion, and everything else other than Business and Accountancy. Which we were all from there in poly. Even my bff is working in her tourism line, where she is happy (I suppose?) from her poly course. All these people are so much happier.

And did I mention I am going to MC a core paper this semester because my mid-terms was average? People don't geddit. They think that "wah, average damn good already leh, why your expectations so high, still want to MC", "aiya, every sem got mods fucked up one. You MC this one, next sem more more mods that are fucked up" "aiya, still got time, work harder still can salvage for finals". Ok, first of all, I get to decide what I want. I am someone who gets easily influenced by others, and my decision swayed here and there a million times regarding this. But eventually, the decision is made by ME. I'm not saying that I don't appreciate friends who gave me advice or suggestions, I do, I really do. I just don't geddit when I already say I WANT TO MC, I'M NOT GOING TO CHANGE MY MIND and people still keep trying to tell me the otherwise. Of course, I do have supportive friends/ family, especially Lok and mummy. I don't really have to report why I want to MC, but since it's my blog, why not for myself to read in the future right. The reason why I want to MC is not merely because I did only-average for mid-terms. Honestly, I don't think I have a good prof for that mod. He might be knowledgeable in the aspect of what he is teaching, but y'know how some things are like "you can do that, but you can't impart that", kinda prof? So getting an average for my mid-terms to me was considered lucky, because I honestly didn't know most of the concepts. It was just purely copying from examples from my notes. And given that I thought I would really fail the paper as I didn't even manage to finish the paper, no, I'm not gonna risk my 50% finals. More importantly, this semester's GPA is important to me for my internship opportunities and exchange opportunities. After that, I think I'm really not gonna care that much about my GPA anymore, for now I say.

Y'know how everyone in university is aiming to go for a semester of exchange program overseas? So many people who have been for exchange share about the difference between our education system and those over there. I don't think I have to emphasise more about the Singapore's education system (I bet you have read/ heard enough from the internet). I wonder if I would migrate sometime in the future, or send my kids to other places for education (if I ever have a child/ children). This is too stressful. This particular year, this particular semester, this particular period, I feel like giving up. Why do I put in more than 3 years of my effort in poly to study just ONE semester in university (EVERY SEMESTER), to get a result far from what I have gotten in poly? I'm sick of "oh, you did so well in poly, so many perfect GPAs, you should try for a perfect GPA in uni too!" "are you in first class?" "are you still maintaining first class?" "wah, if you're not in first class, who is man?".

PLEASE. I AM SO TIRED.

"GPA nia, don't so stress leh!", "Aiya, you so smart, you can get first class one la".

OK, JUST SHUDDUP ALREADY.

Everytime I'd tell myself "ok, I don't have to graduate with a first class. Just chill." But I don't know if it's me, the voices in my head, or my friends and families' voices in my head that pushes me beyond my limits. I'm not saying that pushing me beyond my limits is a bad thing. Sometimes, I do remind myself how far I've made it over the years. Maybe when I look at my friends doing private U or who are already working, I feel like they are happy in life, but maybe when they look at me, they wanted to get into a local U. The grass is always greener on the other side isn't it? So when things fucked up, I just suck it up, cry or smile, and move on.

I'm almost halfway through.

The next break is exchange program.

I can't wait for the "just-a-piece-of-paper" to be awarded to me for my sweat and tears in university.

Till then, 7 days to start, 17 days to end.

Wish me luck!

OKtober

19 October 2014, Sunday

Finally changed to Samsung Note 4 from S3 with mummy the night before, when she finally retired her iPhone 4 too. Like a broke when we change phone together. Hahaha. So I went to sell of my old phone, when Lok suddenly wanted to change to the same phone (after watching a million YouTube videos and done tons of research between iPhone 6 and Samsung Note 4), but he intended to change a week after me with his parents. But oh wells, guess I tempted him too much. Hahaha. So lucky, he got the last piece of Samsung Note 4 at AMK Hub.

We had dinner while waiting for his ridiculous almost-one-hour Singtel queue.

And bye to our phones ;( Thank you for serving me the past 2 years. Although you suck. But thank you anyways.

Snow Jelly and Tokyo banana from Lok's family for meeee :)

Kamsahamidaaaaaa :)

20 October 2014, Monday

It's really not my style to go hall on Sunday night and go home on Monday night.

What's the point of staying in hall then, right?

But I did, and Lok and I had dinner before we headed home.

I did because manipulative Lok asked me to, T~T

Actually it was because he talked sense to me la.

Exams are coming, and usually exams period I would stay in hall, almost like forever until exams end. So here's some previous time I can spend with mummy (taking advantage of no lesson on Tuesday and the Dewali on Wednesday to go home~) And second bro and sis-in-law came by on Wednesday for lunch. So going home was worth it, so much time spend with people I care :)

25 October 2014, Saturday

Stayed in hall on a lonely Friday night because I have a very devoted tax prof who gave us a make up class in lieu of Dewali on Wednesday. My tax table mates above in the lecture theatre for just this lesson. First guy in checked shirt - my beloved senior Chua Chin Khang, whom I mentioned in my previous blog post. Hahaha! All of them are seniors to me taking the same module, so glad to have had a table of old people taking care of me, hahahahahaha!

Went to Rider's Cafe after tax class with Lok.

We didn't expect the place to be so deep in, so we walked our way in, omg.

No car, take a cab, else don't go please. Unless you want to be drenched in sweat like us when you arrive. And this place has no aircon :'( Except in the toilet. Hahaha.

Good was pretty good, love the service and the view too :)

More importantly, spent some quality time with Lok :)

No, we ain't gonna walk out that route.

Took a cab to town instead ;P

Finally, you get to see his unglam fugly faces, LOL.

We went for Muji shopping again, as usual, and again, we never fail to get out of Muji empty-handed. Hiakhiak!

Tsukada Nojo dinner with ABS. We queued for freaginnnn 2 hours!

Saw Yeesiang (Ryu) before his dinner, and halfway he pm-ed me his food in Crystal Jade already :'(

Just in case you didn't realise, Lok is one of ABS too, lol.

Long time since 6 of us sat down for a proper meal together. Postponed a million times and this isn't even Haidilao that Ehren wanted to qia us ;( Nonetheless, dinner was great too, the soup was good!

Love. Me. Love.

Lok sent me home to take a mandatory shot with mummy that was overdue for a week.

"What happens when you wanted a couple phone, but your mother came in to 'kuey shio'. So now I have a family phone instead. ‪#‎shanxlok‬ ‪#‎samsungnote4‬"

And he took a cab home (sorry :/) cos it was too late and he was tired already, oppz.

Thank you for the wonderful day, lunch, shopping and buying me little stuffs! :)

27 October 2014, Monday

Had an IT hands-on quiz. Reminded me of poly days when I had hands-on excel test.

Sweat and tears man. Hahaha!

When my freshie returned me something he borrowed, aww ;)

29 October 2014, Wednesday

OK, a clearer one.

Hallxi Halloween celebration and all the adhocs were canvassing.

Being the best roomie, I helped Nings with her polaroid business (Nings is the DnD chair for next year, and Lok is the business manager). So yea, earned $$$ for my babies! Hahahah!

31 October 2014, Friday

I Have a Confession

2014-10-17T10:08:00.000-07:00

I don't exactly know when to begin, but I had to write up ASAP on this because roomie reminded me to credit his love for me, thus far. Thanks roomie, and for squeezing my blackheads last night, lol.

Some people think that I'm hiding him to gain blog reads (which really, the stats shot up), but no. For the record, my intention of not revealing the man I went Wheeler's Yard with, was because I wanted to do up this proper post for my transition after stabilising my emotions. He's officially known as the Wheeler's boy among my friends while they zoom in using their iPads (yes, my beloved senior, Chua Chin Khang, it's you, lol), into the polaroid picture I posted the last blog post, stalking guys on Facebook to ask "is it him? is it him?" (lol) and friends asking who he is. His friends even pm-ed him all the *smirky* emoticons. Obviously, my closer friends already knew about his existence, since quite a while ago when I was at a complicated stage. So now, I'd like to pen it down (or rather type it out) for my online dairy (apparently public to all, since you people are so interested/ concerned/ kaypoh, lol).

So this Wheeler's boy's/ mysterious man's (he's known to be mysterious among our friends, lol) name is:

Mr. Lok

I'm not going to introduce him much, because you'd probably see a lot of his photos coming up, but I'm too lazy to edit the previous postssssss that we went out together, but I didn't upload pictures of him. Hahaha. Sorry bro, it took too long. So I'm gonna start my boring story from somewhere.

I had a brief relationship with someone else after Pervin and before Lok, but I didn't really tell many people because it wasn't quite official. I think that's the reason why some people's mouth just can't shut because they think that I can't move on from Pervin. Pervin and I have been in a special kind of close friendship ever since we broke off our 4.5 years of relationship before uni started, until a point when even he thought I haven't get over him too. Because that idiot is attached and I didn't really share about my brief relationship much. So to the people (specifically some people), who asked Pervin "Shancheng haven't move on is it", close friends who says "I think you haven't move on leh", even when they know I was somewhat in a relationship, even my mother, even my bff, even my first boyf, even Pervin at a certain point. But guys, I did, I did move on.

I just never really mention about my brief relationship, because I don't really wanna talk about it (duh). I wrote a brief post about him too, (what is love?). This relationship cost me a little friendships (not like it's the first time I lost close friends because of a guy), and a little sacrifice. I thought it took him me to decide who he really wanted, but apparently, there were greater reasons why he didn't fight for me. I was in a terrible state since idk-when. I was filled with emotions that drowned me in tears and I took longer to get over him than Pervin. Surprisingly, it was quite fast for me to get over Pervin as we quickly became friends again. But things with this other guy, seem to be a little harder, and I still do see him frequently and I have been trying to salvage my friendship(s), but I feel like it's kinda getting harder. I may be wrong, but it still upsets me. Probably, it took me him to see clearly who I wanted, and who I don't want to be with, the friends who left, and those who stayed. But I think we have both moved on, especially when he knew the existence of Lok since last year, and has always supportive of Lok. what? ikr. Nevertheless, times with him were happy, like really happy. We enjoyed all the hthts, mugging, clubbing, watching movies and videos, yoloing. Everything. But of course it came along with other negative emotions as well. Separation phase was bad, it's like it always seems like I'm sadder, my emotions all over the place, friends talked to me about it, even though they knew what's going on. I didn't exactly get much comfort because not many people know about this, and people who knew were like "you need to move on, you need to get over him", duh, I know. And, I did, I did move on.

Lok, whom I'm really close with since last year, has all along been doing a lot of things for me (if you read my blog posts since the start of uni), he'd always drop things and letters at my door, buy liang teh, chocolates, he even folded roses for Valentine's, etc. But the thing is right, he did the same for Xuemei, so I thought it's because we are all really close. And we got really close after a lot of studying together and HTHTs.

And before study break last semester, he finally confessed that he liked me since last year (sorry, not tryna boast), but he knew I was in a complicated relationship. Still, he chose to fight for what/ who he wanted. I would say that Lok quietly accompanied me through my saddest phase in uni (thus far), and finally watched me out of it. I really wasn't easy for me and I'm really thankful to Lok and other friends who accompanied me. Actually I really want to credit Jiahou. For the past one year, she really kept me company via Whatsapp and she really felt for me because she was somewhat going through the same thing as me, but in Plymouth. Always trying to stay strong together! #girlspower, lol. Qiufen, Weilong and Shermaine especially too. Actually, it's almost just them.

But what comes after a storm is a rainbow right? (please don't try to gl me and tell me tycoon, tornado or whatever, rainbow, just rainbow). I just hope that - to the people who know about my past, everyone has past, and I don't want Lok to be called secondary, a no-choice, or replacement of anyone, he's not. He's the truest and the most of himself whom I love. Time to credit Lok. Endless things for me during school term. Helping me move home from hall when year 1 ended (it was like moving house please). Ikea trip + my favourite pink daisy. Hello Kitty Set McDonald's set, Spideman 2 (movie), Blackball after I failed my driving, lol. D'Good Cafe, Blended (movie), Maleficient (movie) Japanese Casual Restaurant Watami, picnic, The Fault in Our Stars (movie). Genki Sushi, Dintaifung. Quick trip home. Ramen, Bangkok Jam, couple watch. Herbal soup, Sushi Express, random dinners, Seoul Yummy. Home-cooked lotus soup, fried rice, Oyaku don, macaroni in hall. Home-cooked fried rice, spaghetti, Sync Korean Fusion Bistro. Cafe waiting love (movie). Ichiban Boshi. And last but not least, and not the last la, Wheeler's Yard and llao llao.

Not like you will be interested to read all, but if it so happens that you have read any of them before, no, I wasn't alone. I had a great companion. Now I'm truly happy and blissful for having someone who loves me wholeheartedly, faithfully and truthfully, because I will reciprocate his love the way he does.

To many more happy moments of us, SHANXLOK ♥

Wheeler's Yard & llao llao

2014-10-12T08:31:00.000-07:00

School has been not-so-good for year 2 thus far.

With all the projects, presentations, tests, midterms, quiz, ack.

So, drowning in my never-ending complaints, some kind soul actually decided to surprise me for some brunch at a place he didn't want to tell me.

Everyone's cafe hopping, I where got time.

So obviously, although I can't make sense out of people taking this photo at the front door of the cafe, I took this mandatory shot, since everyone took it right.

Actually I know why, maybe because the colours are quite nice, hehehe :)

So for a Sunday brunch, we were on the waiting list for about 15 minutes, which gave us sufficient time to take all the photos/ polaroids we wanted. But inside the nicely-cooly-swagly-renovated yard, it was soooooo packed. I kinda like the feel, but it was too noisy to stay for long. Maybe because it's a Sunday.

Don't belittle this, we couldn't even finish.

I'd always order English Breakfast Set at whichever cafe I go to. No fail. Always.

Unless I visit the place for the second time.

I'd say that the Truffle Fries are good, but the English Breakfast, hmm, maybe so-so?

Wild Honey still has the best English Breakfast I have ever eaten among all other cafes :)

Earl Grey Tea and Latte in cute little cups and the childhood biscuit! Omg!

I just miss looking at it, not eating it, it's like urgh, too sweet.

Twinings Earl Grey Tea totally changed my perception of Earl Grey.

I used to hate it, but now it's like, hmms, not bad.

And he went to buy a whole pack later in the night during our groceries shopping. Haha!

Took a bus to town for Muji shopping!

Muji is the place for him, actually for me too.

Got plenty of stuffs from Muji, money fry fry.

llao llao.

I'm used to reading that as yao yao, because guys, that's the correct pronunciation.

Had a Sanum for $6.90, which I'd say it's quite worth it.

Y'know how frozen yogurts are really small and expensive, but this is quite huge in consumption portion (compared to the other frozen yogurt brands).

Most people probably know how the face of this person looks like, till then.

Ya, it's him. Haha.

Now I need a separate blog post about how I finally got to know this person.

I think it's gonna be a hell long a post on my tough route, but I will definitely do one to spill my emotions. For now, I just hope that people who thinks that I can't/ haven't move on from Pervin, please - we are still friends, kinda close friends. But no, we are truly happy for each other now. I really have to emphasise this in another blog post cos I want to end this post right.

Thank you for the day, couldn't feel more relax than this for this period! :)

ZAVER LOVE

15 September 2014, Monday

Sorry, I jut wanted to post this to remind how sweet Lok was when I was studying halfway alone in the computer room. Hahahaha. Don't be bored of us please please please, lol!

19 September 2014, Friday

Sync Korean Fusion Bistro | Café | Dining

Not as fantastic as thought, oh wells, settled lunch after Lok decided to skip his afternoon lesson, not so that we can go for a movie date. He's just lazy. And not-hardworking. And too smart. hahaha!

P.S. No special effect on our pictures, the lighting was nice when we took it! :)

★★★★/ ★★★★★

Great movie!

Not the lovey dovey kind, it's quite family drama-ish, and magical, ya.

Just go watch it.

Since we watched such interesting/ philosophical movie, of course must throwback some chio photo to instagram right, add some chim caption. lol

26 September 2014, Friday

Went back to hall after my 6.30-8pm midterms with Lok's hearts-pasta~ Kamsahamida~

Something to brighten up my pre-weekend after an upsetting !@#$%^& miterms paper.

P.S. He's cropped out cos he's unglamz max. hahaha!

27 September 2014, Saturday

Ichiban Boshi before heading home~

Sorry, I was too hungry I finished the sushis in the plates before I recalled to take a picture.

Because I was so damn hungry already :'(

29 September 2014, Monday

#hyunganddongsaeng

Crystal Jade Steamboat + Xiaolongbao buffet with my CCHY boys!

Great catch up and gossips about other people, lol.

Back in hall for drinking with Zaver and Zaros.

I was late, but the first game that I joined in halfway - I got the last King's cup, how lucky.

Thanks to Xuemei, the drink was super thick and I tah it in a mouth. Ok, two.

That was the only drink I had for the night and the rest of the night was too emotional to spell it out.

For friends who know me, I'm the happy-drunk person.

Because by default I'm already a sad person, how sad can I go right?

Drinking makes me forget about everything, so it makes me happy, temporarily until I'm sober.

So the emotional part of the night wasn't about me.

It was just things that I would remember (that's why this post is called - September, remember) as this month comes to an end. I don't want my blog to be recorded with full of happy moments, because that's not what life is about, right? So obviously, when there're ups, there're downs. And the night was just one of them.

The night thought me to not be a busybody. I should have learnt that since long ago.

The feeling really sucks when someone you are trying to help does not appreciate whatever you have done for him/ her, especially when you have put yourself in a vulnerable position. Yet, some others would still hug you from the front and stab you hard at the back. Both situations happened on me at the same time. What is this? Girls' school bitch fight ah? Why did I even.

MORAL OF THE STORY

- NEVER BE A BUSYBODY -

Snip

2014-09-27T08:43:00.000-07:00

Goodbye my trademark golden hair, hello red short hair.

Sniped away some emotions, snipped away some stress.

All will be good.

I hope you are good.

I iz Year 2 Now!

11 August 2014, Monday

Dinner with Zaver @ JP after I woke up from my drank-too-much with #abs.

12 August 2014, Tuesday

Dinner with Junyong @ JP since the previous night we had dinner @ JP without him.

And I wanted to get stuffs for hall, hehehe!

13 August 2014, Wednesday

First official day of school.

Me iz year 2 now.

I think my pms was really bad. Everyone makes me wanna punch them hard in their faces.

I'm already usually very angsty, but I was even more on this particular day.

Everyone (freshies and seniors) wanted to go to Saycheong's room, and I was like, NO, HE HAS 8.30AM CLASS TOMORROW. And end up, they still went to his room and he didn't even have a rest on his lids before his class the next day. Sighpiez. I have no idea how this made me angry until I cried. Like it was the whole day of tolerating some nonsense that I saw or it's everything. Or it's just me.

14 August 2014, Thursday

Supper Hop!

#abs didn't go for trampoline park cos some of us ended class late, so we stayed in JY Ehren room to do an online module that we all signed up together! :)

Then, later in the night, we gathered with the rest of the Hall XI peeps to have supper at Bedok 85 and Geylang. 126 dim sum dinner, yum dum! ;)

Cr. Paris.

15 August 2014, Friday

Dinner @ Sushi Express for the first time.

Sadly, it was quite disappointing :'(

I would rather pay for affordable Japanese Sushi Buffet like Sakae, haha!

Nonetheless, thank you for filling my bottom-pitless tummy :)

18 August 2014, Monday

I PASSED MY DRIVING, FINALLY.

SAY WHATTTTTTT.

This is the third time I've taken my driving test, and I really didn't carry high hopes.

Cabbed back to school $20 fly after $2500 fly in total of my driving lessons and tests.

But it's all worth it now.

Rushed back to school for lecture with Xuemei, Saycheong, Ehren, Hanjie (basically ABS minus Junyong cos he took it last semester already), Augustus, Jia Jin, Matthew :)

4.30-7.30pm lecture, too excited about passing my driving that I wasn't even focusing...

Went back to hall and Grace came knocking on the door to pass me a handmade medal!

Last semester, everyone from Cult nada trophy, for various reasons, not just cult, except for me.

So she made me the MOST SUPPORTING MEMBER of cult.

Wheeeeee, so sweet of her please!!!

It was truly a great day for me, I can't believe I could be sooooo happy in one day.

But...

For the rest of the week, it was really bad.

Friendships issues, school issues, etc. etc.

I don't really want to talk about it anymore, it's all over,

and somehow, I'm suspecting this is the price I had to pay for having such a happy day earlier in the week.

And just saying, I tweeted this before the tragedies, how ironic.

We had one of the nights when the freshies prank-called the seniors and everyone was hiding in Yorksun's (freshie's) room.

21 August 2014, Thursday

My no-joke 8-hour day, died so badly, X.X

Went back hall to nap after talking to Junyong before dinner,

and suddenly when I woke up...

Ta-da! The rest of ABS did it with others the night before while I was talking to Ehren.

So, we agreed that we will do it the next day together.

It was so last minute because Ehren dropped Chor Hung's phone.

So they decided to do the challenge immediately. Haha!

22 August 2014, Friday

Jash 2014: Read here

Awesome night, while I htht Jiahan + foam party is the best!

28 August 2014,Thursday

Cody. Augustus, Yvonne (the only freshie, lol). Kitmeng. Hanjie. Saycheong. Shan. Ehren. Xuemei.

When we all have evening lecture on Monday nights together :)

28 August 2014,Thursday

Had Pitchstop lunch with #abs without Junyong, additional - Kitmeng :)

Two days ago was Hall XI JCRC rally, then it was voting day!

I remember how voting was like last year, so exciting!

It's a happy day, because it's the last day for my week and Junyong cooked Omu Rice for #abs!!!

Kamsahamidaaaaaa ;)

29 August 2014, Friday

Unglamz max, dinner @ JP :)

31 August 2014, Sunday

Before returning to hall, I went to IT fair to buy a mini fridge for my hall.

As expected, just as how I bought my oven and teevee, I end up buying my fridge at Gain City @ Marina Square instead of the IT far, lol.

And my first time @ Seoul Yummy!

I think the specialty - Stew Army is kind kinda cool, but a few days later than I knew the Chicken soup is even better. Argh. Still, worth the try!

Thanks for the companion and the dinner :)

So this is it, zoom zoom zoom, first month of being a year-2.

More to come :)

Jash 2014 @ Azzura

2014-08-23T20:05:00.000-07:00

Jash 2013: Read here

As compared to last year's Jash, this year was a lot more fun!

Initially, they didn't have enough tickets for the seniors, and I didn't really wanna go, cos I had enough fun. But then again, when is fun enough? Teehee!

Moreover, no one I knew had been to a beach and foam party, so this is it!

And say what?! We have 14 bottles of alcohol, though I didn't drink much, still

AWESOMEZ!

Amanda. Maxton. Shan. Jiahan.

While everyone wants to be buddies with maxton, the sistaz are Maxton's Hatched buddies (cos he drove us to hatched for brunch last year, lol).

Leshia. Ferlyn.

Viper babies! :D

P.S. Ferlyn, I post the picture of you on your prettier side nor, sacrificed my prettier side for you, lolol. Ferlyn and I happened to have the same driving instructor, but she just failed her driving, YOU SHALL PASS THE NEXT TIME, just as I did.

Whee, passing driving is like the only happy thing this week.

Benji (Viper). Henry (Ryu). Prasheen (Ryu)

If you haven't already know Benji is my Viper pageant, who is also NBS prince, who is also Mr. Body beautiful, who is also Mr. Popular. And you won't know this, we are driving buddies! We were named on a random note cos he had his test the next day right after mine, and both of us passed, because we sent each other 🍀🍀🍀

Hahaha! As if that really works. But we both thought it did! Congrats Benji! 😄

Henry Chua, endless love for this boy who just recently randomly bought me so many gifts (I'm using them everyday please) and always chauffeuring me around ❤️❤️❤️

Prash x Shan, mandatory GL shot. And congrats for winning hall 3 King Prash!

Kinda interesting that Hall 3 has 5 pairs of freshie pageants and 1 pair of senior pageants to attract the seniors to go DnD, and there we have it, Hall 3 King is the senior - Prasheen. Hahaha!

Alfred (CCHY). Saycheong (Hall XI)

And Alfred!!! Omgggggg, the last time we took a photo together was when we had our secondary school prom night. Alfred's my sec 3 and 4 classmate and I finally, saw him in the foams after Steven (hall XI guy) carried and threw me down into the pool. Screamed like mad cos I didn't wanna get wet! But oh wells, then Viper didi Yaohui threw me in again 😂

I was glad I got into the pool cos that was the most fun part of the night even though I didn't wanna get wet initially.

A picture with Saycheong was random. I could remember everything from the night, but my head was pounding so hard on every step I walked. And this idiot kept walking so fast that I couldn't feel my head. And this was a random shot cos I told him we should take a photo (pointing at the photo booth), but he whipped out his camera, and I was like, oh... ok. So picture on the phone. lol. SC babies :)

BASIL LEE

Exclusively, he has 2 pictures.

Cos he said that first one he looked like a Malay, lol.

He's my swimmate and I've known him for 12 year.

And this is the first photo we have ever taken.

(cos we don't take pictures in the water during swimming trainings, duh)

I think the last time we ever talked for so long was primary 6.

But now when we started talking again - not awkward at all.

Just as old times while we hold the board to do kicking, keeping our heads above, we still have endless to talk about.

Lotsa similarities cos we have the EXACT BIRTHDATE.

For all my life, I've been searching for another one who has the same birthday as me, only one so far - Basil. Haha! Nice catch-up with life and sharing about traveling. We love to travel alone, one similarity checked :)

Junyong (half-faced) (Hall XI)

Thanks for taking care of me for the night, though you still sometimes MIA and it's so annoying to XM and me, lol. Love having you around and thanks for bringing me to have some icecreamzzzz.

Thank you Wally! 😘

Beach party sibo?

But first, lemme eat an ice cream!

Went back to hall after that because I had Japanese Placement test the next day.

Thanks Junyong for going back with me! ;)

Sighpiez.

5 August 2014, Tuesday

After Japanese placement test, I went to Marina Barrage, lost my way, etc.

And finally, ran to Viper when I saw them because they were taking a photo with Chua En Lai, a Mediacorp Artiste! And he needs a disclaimer that his hair is not usually centre parting... Hahaha!

I was really sick, couldn't go on for Karaoke with them, headed home to crash! :'(

1 July 2014, Tuesday

★★★★/ ★★★★★

This comedy is really damn good.

At first when I saw Channing Matthew Tatum, I thought it was some dancey movie, (pardon my ignorance of 21 Jump Street), end up, I watched most of his movies like The Vow, Dear John, She's the Man, etc. Then I went home to watch 21 Jump Street. Haha. I have no idea why I always do that. I watched Hangover 2 in the theatres too, then went home to catch Hangover 1. Lol. But this movie is worth watching in the cinemas, go go! :D

Bugis street for a little snack out and Saveur for dinner :)

Thank you for the treat for movie and dinner, f :)

Tom's Palette for Ice Cream Waffles! Onomnomz!

Finally, we talked, this is it.

Japanese Dinner with Wingsze and Qiu.

We waited a million years for the gorgeous air stewardess to be free for a meal with us!

As pretty and skinny as ever, we didn't want to take selflies with Wingsze for obvious reasons… Haha!

Great catch up!

9 July 2014, Wednesday

Nings and I have always wanted a pre-roomie outing.

Our outing always end up to be looking for jobs, interview, working, etc.

Finally, comes Sentosa Cove, where I haven't been to before!

It was on sale, like 2 tickets for $50, so why not go enjoy a day of sun and waters!

*Been going to Sentosa too much, especially now, the camp period…*

Love how this girl is ever so cheery and can't wait to move in together!!!

ABS @ Pulau Ubin

My virgin trip.

Those idiots lied to me that we need to bring passport to go Pulau Ubin, I believed! :(

I was worried that I couldn't go through while the rest could.

Jidangao.

Love Ehren's smiles in the pictures that we tried to act like 那些年！

HAHAHA!

Cycling was too shag, I have no idea what happened ever since NBS camp ended.

Like I've became older by 10 years or something.

Zi char dinner there and back to Tampines to have dessert.

Love the company, as ever!

24 July 2014, Thursday

Went out to get Xuemei's presents and get iPhone repaired, failed :(

When is Apple releasing iPhone 6? T~T

Thanks for accompanying me to shop for my friend, and the Din Tai Fung treat to satisfy my forever-craving - Fried rice! :D

25 July 2014, Friday

Dragged my huge ass luggage to Bugis to meet Hot & Gorgeous (without Peijeng :/) .

We don't meet for a year.

Then we meet twice a week.

Had a few nice people helping me carry my luggage up the stairs, etc.

Met Junyong along the green line to move to hall together.
