Vinyl siding is a home siding solution that is commonly used instead of wood, fiber cement, and other types of home siding materials. It is made of polyvinyl chloride or PVC resin which can expand and shrink like real wood with weather conditions. Currently it is the most popular type of home siding. Primarily because of its low cost and ease of maintenance. It is available in a variety of colors, designs and other details that are intended to mimic natural materials. One of the reasons for its popularity is the fact that it is durable enough to last several decades when cared for properly. Neglect of damaged panels can lead to water seepage and thus mold growth. A subtle disadvantage can be the change in the saturation of the the color of the panels with time. As a consequence if a panel needs to be replaced, a new panel may not actually match the color of the older panels. Like all home siding materials the disadvantages may be enough for some home owners to avoid the material and others to consider it of no consequence in making their choice.

The decision to install or replace new siding on your house is not a quick one to make. There are various siding options to consider one of which is fiber cement siding. Fiber cement siding is the home siding material that ensures the best protection, durability, and look in a siding solution investment. When compared to its advantages, the disadvantages are minor.
