such as painting that room, faux your accent wall,or even staining that deck, dont forget to at least get three bids on your project, its always good to at least see what the others are charging it really does give you the upper hand, and it just might save you lots in the long run, but i do have to say that, the cheapest isn't always the way to go, as you might already know, it might end up costing you more by doing it twice, products are a main factor when you are looking for for paint, there are many low cost paints out there but, they don't withstand the test of time saving money on low cost material wont really save you that much, if you have to repaint every two years and maybe every year, so do your homework, you do get what you pay for, the are many new products out the sherwin williams has come out with duration, low voc paints waterborne epoxies, they do have a variety of great products and the service people at the counter are very helpful, your local painter could assist you with this as well,
i found that my customers dont mind paying alittle bit more for great product as long as the results match what i am promising, here's another tip for you, get everything in writing thou it would be hard to put a time frame on how long an exterior paint job should last, most painters will give you a waruntee, but once again consider that weather is a factor. so if you are in a state that has very wet weather or cold conditons most of the time, you might not get the 5 years of life on that paint,
so always use the right product for the job,

when you are embarking on a painting project, you want to make sure that the tools you use are about to use are the best for that application,
it does matter the type of brush you use ,not only the type of paint but also the fibers of the brissols, useing a cheap throw away brush will not give you a smooth workable finish, and alot of times the hairs pull out, and the brissols flair giving you a unworkable brush, i have tried many products in this dept and i found that purdy brushes that may run from 15.00 to 22.00 per brush works great now they clean up easy and last for a long time, these are professional grade so for you diy i still would recommend useing this you will see the difference, just like the white dove roller sleeves they are one of the best products out there to roll paint on a wall the fibers are woven tight and dont peel off and land on your wall, its well worth the 10.00 dollars you pay ,wooster also has a great roller sleeve try it and you will see
where paint creates a barrier between the the wood and the suface to prevent the moisture and uv rays from blistering and fading the paint.
my advice would be if its a deck or any exterior wood that hasnt been painted then you should stain, once again its always best to ask you painter which one you should use paint peels where stain just fades if done right,
you sherwin williams and your benjamin moore stores could help,
the home depot stores they are all knowledgeable and could help walk you thru the process, painting or staining adds life to your home and keeps it looking its best with out alot of investment its the quickest way to enhance your home in a short amount of time,

cheap prices

<iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=painting020-20&o=1&p=8&l=bpl&asins=B001KC08SG&fc1=000000&IS2=1&lt1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="align:left;padding-top:5px;width:131px;height:245px;padding-right:10px;"align="left" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0">when your trying to get alot of work done you could save money on trying to get it all done, by hiring somone who can do a variety of things, let me explain why, if you have more than just painting to do, such as maybe fix a pane in a windows grout some tile fix or patch a wall you want to hire somone, who will or can do it all, you could bargain the price that way, i find in my business that homeowner will tend to hire me cause i offer a variety of other trades such as ceramic tile installations, drywall repair and replace, wallcovering installations, even vinyl flooring, not to mentions hardwood, customers have often asked me, if i hir you to do these other jobs would i give them a cheaper price on the painting, i tell them i could lower my bid if more work is thrown my way, it keeps me and my guys busy, so in return we both win, the customer gets the work done and i get more work out of it
even though i lowered my price, it will al equal out in the end, from referrals sent by happy home onwers, who had worked done it a great way to increase sales and open many doors of creating new clients, down the line it doesn't have to be about money all the time, doing a great job on time and under budget, has its upsides, and i have learned that most people would never think twice about calling somone else if you done a great job at a fair price so,try to lower your prices without sacrificing your qaulity, a great job speaks for its self
you could never go wrong by helping this economy grow by hiring
to have a job done,
if you are in a position to hire than by all means.
you should do so, with so many of us out of work we need to get the wheel of economy going,
ourselves,
its great that the goverment wants to chip in,but lets face it at what cost, and to whom.
when I first started in this business, people would ask me why? did you decide to do this kinda of work?,
well I tell them because, I love to paint, I love knowing that i will be in different locations after this job that i do for you is done
,i gues you can say to me its like traveling the world you get to meet different people place and most of all, i just enjoy painting always have ever since i was young, never wanted to do anything else but paint,
i believe it is my destiny,
back to to hiring and keeping the economy going think of the chain that you employ, just by hiring a contractor, lets do a summary of what it would generate
you hire a contractor to paint your house
now in return he picks up the material for your house,
the supplier has stock for his shelf,
in return the truck driver brining the paint and material to the store has a job,
but it doesn't stop there, it goes on to the manufacter can keep his or her workers
but lets not forget the ones i havent mentioned, the in between to get all this to you like the gas station, the food stores, the oil companies, the advertising, the marketing,it goes on and on and on

so that small job that you employ today makes a world of difference in everyones life, not just that painter but the people before and the people after, life is like a circle, and the more good we do the more good comes back to you,
i believe that we are all good, and that givin the chance we all want to make a change to build this country to a great and thriving economy for everyone, so hire that painter, hire that lawn guy,or even the plumber, we all could use it,and we all are in this together,
here some tips on how to get the most out of your estimates

1 ask if they would throw anything in an extra door to paint or a discount if you pay cash
2 when you have three or more rooms painted will they give you one free just pay for the paint
3all ways get it in writing
4get three qoutes now remember the cheap price isnt always the best way to go
see what they offer compare apples with apples and if it sounds to good to be true well probably is
no one can say that it should only cost this much for a paint job it depends on many factor conditions for one and ease of access how much prep our you useing premium paint verses low grade
all these factors are important to the price and qaulity of your job
ask always what grade of paint and how much more fro a better grade you find that it really isnt that much more.when you look at durabilty and how offen you would have to paint my advise is always go with the contractor you most feel comfortable with you could never go wrong

painting season is here!!!!!!

hi guys and welcome back to another great day in the upper midwest spring is a warm welcome here, we are ready to strap our belts on, and make light of our honey do list, but we also need to do things like air out the house to let some of the trapped stagnite air out, thats been waviering in the home,
painting is another way to remove unwanted odor that just seem to linger, no matter how much you wash your floors, have you ever thought it might not be the floors? at all
it just might be the walls that are obsorbing all the smells, and a fresh coat of painting should fix that right up,and now on to our exterior of our home, we need to get that outside deck painted or stained but need it powerwashed first, and we also need to paint the house, so get your cragslist and certa pro contractors ready to come out to give you a estimate.
there are, so many lead companies to choose when you are trying to get contractors to bid on your home, but i find that the ones that have a free enrollment is the way to go the charge the contractors a fee to view your homes needs and then have the call you, or just wait for flyers to arrive in your mail box that works to

mold !!!!!!!

<iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=painting020-20&o=1&p=8&l=bpl&asins=B00002N83E&fc1=000000&IS2=1&lt1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="align:left;padding-top:5px;width:131px;height:245px;padding-right:10px;"align="left" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0"><iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=painting020-20&o=1&p=8&l=bpl&asins=B000BQY8B0&fc1=000000&IS2=1&lt1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="align:left;padding-top:5px;width:131px;height:245px;padding-right:10px;"align="left" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0">when ever you find mold in your home,its always best to call a professional.
to determine the damage unless of course you only have a 2x2 area then bleach and water can fix that area, but if you are looking at black mold coming thru the drywall, more likely you are facing a bigger job.
all that drywall needs to be removed, and replaced, even the insulation has to be removed cause once insulation is wet it looses its r value now the reason you must remove the drywall is, cause the mold is all the way thru the drywall from the back. and you need to remove it completely, by stain kilzing only hides it for a short time, and will re-occur within time, now before you remove the drywall, and before you cause any dust or mold spurs in the air, you need to remove all items, from that area and tape off all vents and cold air returns, make sure you remove your carpet and pad, note it not a quick job, at removing drywall butis the only way from preventing your mold from growing and tranfering to room to room, again a solutions is made to stabalize your problen ask your local sherwin williams or home depot for advice, you may even want to ask you cleaning company such as water damge company, flood damage company, and house cleaners, for some advice on this product, they would have the inside track on what products you should use, and always wear a respirator safty should be your first step, becuase mold in any form is a hazard, always read the label and make sure you understand all the steps, before commencing, you are also going to need fans to air out the room this will allow the air in the room to dry out.
useing these tips could help you thru the daunting task of mold removal, and help you breathe alot better and save you money in the long run, keeping your house at the right humidity will keep your house from creating to much moisture, remember an equal balance is needed to unsure you have the right air qaulity, you will need a havac contractor, to inspect that your heater and air cinditioner are running correctly, a couple of hundred dollars up front for a check up now for matainence, beats thousands of dollars in damage caused by the poor air qaulity later.
the better the surface prep, the better the finish will be,
you want to make sure you patch all holes, cracks, voids and seams, with either, caulk, spackle, compound, or putty( which is typically used on trim only,) once you have patched all those area, you'll need to let it dry, and then sand to a smooth finish, after you must apply a primer on all your repaired areas,
doing so will prevent flashing, which is caused when your patches bleed thru because they havent been primerd, always apply a primer it will hide all your patch work, before you paint, and make you walls shine a uniform color.
doing so will prevent flashing, which is caused when your patches bleed thru because they havent been primerd, always apply a primer it will hide all your patch work before you paint, and make you walls shine a uniform color.

8XW9PUR9KBX2

ready to paint

<iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=painting020-20&o=1&p=8&l=bpl&asins=B001HWLCQ6&fc1=000000&IS2=1&lt1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="align:left;padding-top:5px;width:131px;height:245px;padding-right:10px;"align="left" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0">i have metioned many times to prepare the surface that you are about to paint, but i havent mentioned the items that you should move.from your area that you will be painting ,such as mirrors, lights lamps ,breakables and of course your bedcovering or that chair that seem to be in the way of you painting , painting involves time, and allout confidence, you must be willing to take your time to setup all you painting tools, such as rags caulk tape etc,
when you first start to paint the room,
start painting, the bottom of the wall, i know this may sound crazy, but unless you are a pro at painting, the top layer of paint willl dry way before you have a chance to roll a coat of paint on it,and it will cause what we call a flash point where you will see the outline of the cut.
that is why you should cut your bottom line of painting first, then work your ways to the corner of each wall and paint a cut line from ceiling to floor on either side,
as you work your way to the top of the wall to paint a cut line you should use bue painters tape on ceiling to create a crisp straight line once again if you are a pro then you wont need to follow this technic,
but only paint a cut line to one wall only dont paint a cut line on all the walls it will dry on you to quick, work at one wall at a time , useing this method you can insure a uniform finish on your walls,
There are a lot of different brands of paint, like Nippon or ICI, which are the ones we prefer to use.
2) Colour of paint. Once the type of paint has been decided. It’s down to choosing the paint colours. There are usually more than 20 different colours to choose from a type of paint. Once the colour has been decided, we will take note of the colour code, and note down which wall to paint which colour.
3) Inspect the wall condition. We will also go around the house to check on the condition of the walls. This is because that if the walls are not in good condition to paint, we will need to do plastering to it, or paint it over a couple of times. This will also determine the cost of painting.

texture ceilings

<iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=painting020-20&o=1&p=8&l=bpl&asins=B003O684VY&fc1=000000&IS2=1&lt1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="align:left;padding-top:5px;width:131px;height:245px;padding-right:10px;"align="left" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0">i have been asked how to do or spray a textured ceiling,
so heres your answer,

when you first set out to texture your ceiling or walls check for imperfections such as loose tape joints, blisters rough edges you need to address those first by either sanding down all those bad areas or even re mudding those tape joints to ensure a smooth finish, now remember texture such as orange peel or a florida knock down all need a smooth base,
because you are going to knock down or run a smooth blade over the product.
now you need a hopper and your going to need alot of plastic , because the product is shot thru, by a compressor at hi psi which causes it to fly everywhere, my advice is to hire a pro if you havent ever done this before
back to your prep you want to cover everything in the room which includes doorways, windows, and especially carpets, keep a extra pair of shoes by the tented off are and leave you shoes that you were spraying texture in the area that you were spraying. you willunderstand why when you get to that pointe, now once you have all the areas tarped off anll your furniture is out or coverd, you make you mix it is to be the consistancy of oatmeal, when you are ready to spray and remeber even though it takes 24 hours to dry you dont have much time to work with cause it settles quick so start spraying in a left to right pattern dont go over your steps,
it doesnt matter at this pointe if you missed some spots just keep going till you reach the end of you wall, then back track but in the opposite, direction, so if you were going north to south you go east to west, make another pass and once again follow all the way to end with out stopping this is very important, because you will have a thicker mil if you do than lets the end where you didnt stop as long, if you feel that this ,by allmeans to hard then hire apro he should be in and out by 4 hours, always ask for help, you will need it to clean up and to hand you thing while you are in the tented area, skill level for this project is med to high

i would ask your professional to help you with this part and with your staning as well, the stains can be confusing so do ask your home depot or your sherwin williams store about what deck stain to use, there are penetrating stain semi transparent, solid stains and of course oil and latex stains, the proper tools for each type of solvent to be used so, once again ask before you attempt this , give your self two days to complete cause thats how long you need to complete your deck right one full day to dry and another day to finish,

prep

before you start any project remember to always tape off, and dropcloth your area that you are workingin.
meaning, allow him or his assosiates to do there work, remember you are paying them to do a job. by you being in the way you slow down the process and possibly endager your self or the contractor, because he has to watch out for you, as well as for himself. when performing his dutie., its great that you want to make sure some of your concerns are met, but be patient, allow the contractor to do his work at his pace, and im sure you will get all your concern addressed,
i get a lot of feed back when i write this from homeowners, and general contractors all say,: we just need to ensure that what we are paying for, is what we are getting,:
so in repect to all home owners and gc, there are many ways to look for signs of qaulity, and question can be asked to the contractor when that phase is done,
by being in the way your, hindering the contractor from doing his job remember, you hired him to do the work. so why are you helping?, most contractor find it very annoying, when a home owner interferes, its just one more thing they have to worry about, so give your contractor some room to breathe, and im sure you will get a happier contractor and a lot better job if he can work stress free.

painting season is here!!

hello again im excited to say that winter is on its way out dont get me wrong love the four seasons but,
spring is my favorite time to start planning my to do list, like getting esimates from other contractors to do, things that i need done around my home yes even painting, thou i do that part
here are a few tips to help you on your quest, to find a painter.

first ask yourself is he local, does he come with references, and how long has he been in the field, and what kind of paint has he used, these questions might seem a bit much but the more you nknow about your painter the more you can make your choice of which one to hire, i always tell my clients that price does matter on painting your home if you get a qoute for example to paint you 1200 sq ft exterior home and they vary
from 1250 to 4300 well thats when you have to ASK YOUR SELF WHY?
not all contractors see what the other sees, remember they are pros.
such as if boards need to be replace do they use only premium products and
do they warruntee the job,
sure you can get in this economy, someone who will paint for next to nothing but think of this before you do,the amount of work or should i say prep that is being done on your home is the key here your middle price rang contractor knows that he wants your bus. but does'nt want to take short cuts
your higher end painter wants your busness to but also has to put in safe gaurds that most painter dont want to do like call back to see if you are happy with the job two weeks later or if there are any concerns you may have,or schedule a free powerwash a year later
you do get what you pay for, and these days you want the most for your money so
spending a little more to, get a alonger paint job may might be the option for you,

lets all help economy

hello again i would like to bring back a sublect about hiring again,
you could never go wrong by helping this economy grow by hiring
to have a job done, if you are in a position to hire than by all means.
you should do so with so many of us out of work we need to get the wheel of economy going,
ourselves, its great that the goverment wants to chip in,but lets face it at what cost, and to whom.
when I first started in this business, people would ask me why? did you decide to do this kinda of work?,
well I tell them because, I love to paint, I love knowing that i will be in different locations after this job that i do for you is done,i gues you can say to me its like traveling the world you get to meet different people place and most of all, i just enjoy painting always have ever since i was young, never wanted to do anything else but paint,
i believe it is my destiny,
back to to hiring and keeping the economy going think of the chain that you employ, just by hiring a contractor, lets do a summary of what it would generate
you hire a contractor to paint your house
now in return he picks up the material for your house,
the supplier has stock for his shelf,
in return the truck driver brining the paint and materil to the store has a job,
but it doesn't stop there, it goes on the manufactorer can keep his or her workers
but lets not for the ones i havent mentioned the in between to get all this to you like the gas station, the food stores, the oil companies, the advertising, the marketing,it goes on and on and on

so that small job that you employ today makes a world of difference in everyones life not just that painter but the people before and the people after, life is like a circle, and the more good we do the more good comes back to you,
i believe that we are all good, and that givin the chance we all want to make a change to build this country to a great and thriving economy for everyone, so hire that painter, may that lawn guy,or even the plumber, we all could use it,and we all are in this together,
here some tips on how to get the most out of your estimates

1 ask if they would throw anything in like will they move the furniture
2 when you have three or more rooms painted with they give you one free just pay for the paint
3always get it in writing
4get three qoutes now remember the cheap price isnt always the best way to go
see what they offer compare apples with apples and if it sounds to good to be true well probably is
no one can say that it should only cost this much for a paint job it depends on many factor conditions for one and ease of access how much prep our you useing premium paint verses low grade
