If you’re new in here just read Hidden Paradise Indonesia. Why? Because this is the start where you will know about Indonesia and me.

You know about Sumatra? Sumatra is sub-Islands in Indonesia archipelago which is locate in West Indonesia. There is an Island in Sumatra that famous among the traveler, name Pahawang Island. Many people said Pahawang Island is the underwater paradise cause the underwater of Pahawang Island is really amazing. Corals, fish, everything you expect to see, you will see it here and all of them are super colorful.

Okay let’s take your good stuff and make Pahawang Island the Underwater Paradise our trip.

Pahawang is an island that located in the District of Punduh Padada, Pasawaran district, South Lampung, southern part of Sumatra island, closer to Java. It is now become one of the best snorkeling area in Sumatra. More and more young travelers visit here and never disappointed by the beauty of the underwater scene!

Pahawang island is divided to Pahawang besar island and Pahawang kecil island and many island around here that I will take to every each island in here. Maybe we can say the Pahawang isn’t only island but also an archipelago. Isn't that amazing? I mean an archipelago in an archipelago lol.

We can choose an island to stay between Pahawang Besar or Tanjung Putus. Each of this island have advantages each other. When you stay in Pahawang Besar you can reach snorkeling area and closer and faster than from Tanjung Putus but you can’t see sunrise or sunset with best scene. Otherwise, when you stay in Tanjung Putus it will be the best view for see sunrise and sunset, but the snorkeling area is pretty far enough.

However I will recommended to you to stay in Tanjung Putus, because there is an island that called Balak island. This is one of my favorite island. This island is an uninhabited island that make you feel get lost or no where, but this island really have a good landscape of view that can pamper your eyes. But remember not all of them in Pahawang Island know where is balak island. You can ask me and I will give you the right navigator to go there. And one thing why I recommended Tanjung Putus as place that you stay in is cause the snorkeling area in there is really great, and if you luck you’ll find the green turtle here.

Pasir Timbul

The second island you must visit is Pahawang kecil. Somehow there is a way from Pahawang kecil to Pahawang Besar through the “pasir timbul”. What is pasir timbul? Is something like land but made full of sand that present when sea level decrease(normally when in daylight) and will be gone when sea level rise(normally in evening and morning). In here you can also buy some coconut fresh from the tree while you enjoy the view.

Kelagian Kecil Island, the place you can stay a while

The Other side of Kelagian Kecil

The third island you must visit is Kelagian kecil. This island has sized only about 900 feet, so with this size we can explore all of the island easily and enjoy every angel of view we want. The special thing from this island is, you can see the different color of water, there is transparent, green, and blue when in daylight of course. This island also has snorkeling area that must-see too. It’s only about 90feet from the island.

The best part of Pahawang island is you can’t visit this island only once because there’ll be another snorkeling area, or an island they will found by the people in several month. And one more thing, the navigator in here didn’t use any navigation tools like compass, map, or even GPS. They only use they instinct to get the right direction.

Okay I think that’s all about Pahawang island, and this is the end of our trip... Wait wait, it's not the end, you can also go here when you already in Lampung.

This time I'll take a trip with you to The World Heritage of Waerebo which is located in Flores.

Okay, let's go to Waerebo..

Is Waerebo didn't sound familiar? not just you, even the citizen in Indonesia don't know what is, or where is Waerebo? So, what is Waerebo? Waerebo is a Village, where is it? Just keep reading...

Before 2011, about 2000-2010, not many people know about Desa Waerebo(Waerebo Village), a rural village in Manggarai Flores, that really "must visit" destination when you visiting to Flores Island. Talk about Flores, Komodo Island is still be the iconic destination. Even when we ask to civilians who stay in Flores about this village, is still many civilians doesn't know about Desa Waerebo.

We can't ignored that advance of technology makes information going easier to get. Through social media, traveler who went there they publish their picture or story about how beatifull and welcoming is the village. They share the itinerary, how much does it cost, and information about access to get there. That's what make Desa Waerebo become famous until now.

Short history about Waerebo

Indigenous in Waerebo still preserve the nature and their culture until now. Their ancestor named Empo Maro. Empo Maro born in Minangkabau sumatera. she and her family sail from Sumatera and arrive in Labuan Bajo Flores.

They continue their journey to North until they found place named Waraloka. Based on story the civilians in Waerebo, Empo Maro was move from village to another village, start from Waraloka,Waraloka Then move to Mangapa’ang, then move again to Todo, Popo, Liho, Mofo, Golo Ponto, Ndara, Golo Pando, Golo Damu, and finally settled permanently in Waerebo, where they lived and had descendants until now.

Waerebo become her last settle because her dream tel her that she must move to another place in East. and their descendants from Empo Maro keep preserve their village and their culture to the present. Like their local language "Neka hemong kuni agu kalo" mean " Waerebo is the land of birth, inheritance, and our home that will never be forgotten"

UNESCO rewarding Desa Waerebo an award of UNESCO Asia Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation on August 27, 2012. This award is the highest award given to those who commit to a cultural heritage conservation.

Hike to Waerebo

The village can only be reached by way of a three-hour hike (depending on your physical condition) from the lowlands. The hike is definitely worth the effort: the dense rain forest along the narrow path to WaeRebo is one of a stunning biological diversity. Not only does it host interesting vegetation, including orchids, palms, and different ferns, but also an impressive population of singing birds.

WaeRebo has been supported to become the major culture tourism attraction in West Flores. Together with a team of Jakarta-based architects and the Indonesian government, the local community renovated four of their mbaru niang – or ‘drum houses’ in the Manggaraian language.

Cone-shaped Waerebo buildings

The circular, cone-shaped buildings were all rebuilt in a traditional way. In contrast today’s rectangular buildings, the hearth is situated in the center of the house. The massive roof, made out of palm fiber, is supported by a central wooden pole. The ceremonial house – differing in size from the other buildings – is the place where sacred heirloom drums and gongs are stored, and where different ceremonies and rituals are held. This house is a communal building, gathering eight families who are descended from a common ancestor under its huge roof. Its structure symbolizes the unity of the clan, with the sacred drums considered the clan’s medium to communicate with the ancestors.

When you visit Wae Rebo, you will not only see the authentic Manggaraian housing, but also get an opportunity to experience the daily life of the local people. Most of the people work in their gardens from early morning until dawn, busy with harvesting coffee and processing the beans. Even though weaving is not a major activity in Wae Rebo, you may encounter some women weaving traditional songket cloth. Visitors are welcome to spend the night in the mbaru niang, and to socialize and dine with the Wae Rebo community. You will sleep on a tikar, a woven mat made out of pandanus leaf, in the mbaru niang, and get a taste of how life used to be when the extended families still lived their lives under one roof.

All of 7 houses in Waerebo

Seven houses Mbaru Niang made by their ancestors, means to respect the wind direction from the 7 peaks are surrounding Kampung Waerebo. It was their trust as a way to honor the spirits give them welfare. All Mbaru Niang standing on flat ground and built to surround an altar called "Compang". Compang stands as the focal point of 7 houses and believed to be the most sacred buildings in there. Compang function is as an altar for praise and worship of God and the spirits of the ancestors.

The entire Mbaru Niang has a different name, they are:
1. Tambour Niang
2. Niang Gena Mandok
3. Niang Gena Jekong (rebuilt in 2010)
4. Niang Gena Ndorom (rebuilt in 2009)
5. Niang Gena Keto
6. Niang Gena Jintam
7. Niang Gena Maro

Levels of Waerebo House

In Mbaru Niang, activities carried out by the family and the citizens of Waerebo are mostly centered on the first floor of the House, or commonly referred to with the tent. The shape of the round floor, Niang Drum (main house) has a diameter of 14 meters. While Niang Gena (other houses) have a diameter of 11 meters. Reason of the diameter size difference is the number of families that leave each home. Niang Drum leave by 8 families, while Niang Gena filled by 6 families.

The first floor is divided in 2 parts, Nolang and Lutur, with one door as the entrance and exit. Nolang is the private part of Mbaru Niang, that a place for the stove or firewood that is used for cooking and eating, as well as bedrooms for 6-8 families residing in. The rooms are arranged by the order of birth from each leader of the family. While Lutur is the zone used for public spaces and community activities.

Similar to the concept of the Compang became Central of all custom homes in this village and became part of the most sacred, the most sacred place on the first floor which is located in the middle of the House is called the "hunchback". In front of the Poles this is usually Customary Chair Hunchback would sit in every community meeting Waerebo.

How to get there?

There are several options for getting to Wae Rebo:

Car or motorbike from Ruteng:

Start the 2.5 - 3 hour drive by heading south towards Golo Lusang. After having passed Pong Nggeok village, you will cross Wae Mese bridge. Go ahead to Narang village, followed by Nanga Ramut village, and you will end up in Dintor. From this small fishing village you can see the beautiful Mules Island. The road to the north brings you to Kombo – Wae Rebo’s twin village – and finally to Denge village, which is the starting point for the hike to Wae Rebo.

Truck (oto kayu) from Ruteng:

From the Mena Bus Terminal, the truck route will take you across the villages of Cancar, Pela, Todo, and Dintor before you finally reach Denge Village.
The oto kayu usually departs from the terminal in the afternoon. The trip takes about 3 – 3 1/2 hours. If you want to go back from Denge to Ruteng, you will have to wake up early as the bis kayu departs from Denge at 5.30am.

Boat:

The boat trip is a good option if you start the trip from Labuan Bajo. Head south to the coastal village of Nangalili. Once there, you have to rent a boat (about Rp 400,000) to take you to Dintor. As there is no regular boat schedule. The boat trip takes about two hours and leads you across to Mules Island. After having arrived in Dintor, continue your trip to Denge by ojek (about Rp 10,000) for about 20 minutes.

Hiking

In Denge, start the hike by taking the path between a local homestay and village SDK (elementary school). The hike will lead you across three rest spots. The first one is at Wae Lomba River, which is less than an hour from Denge. After another hour of trekking, you will find the second one, Pocoroko. This is an important place for villagers (and visitors) who want to make phone calls and send text messages from their mobile phones, as there is no mobile signal in Wae Rebo. From Pocoroko you will reach the third post, Nampe Bakok, which takes about 40 minutes. From here, enjoy the beautiful hill scenery before you reach Wae Rebo.

Do you know where is Indonesia is? When You say Indonesia is Bali you are totally wrong, and you must check Hidden Paradise.

Because this is the 5th time I travel with you to Hidden Paradise in Indonesia.

In this section I will take a trip with you to Maldives. Maldives is in Indonesia? since when? I mean it's Derawan or should I call Indonesia's Maldives.. This one is also "the world heritage" destination.

Maldives of Indonesia - Derawan

Did you know about Maldives Island? Maldives Island it's so famous now. Of course because the beautiful and romantic place as a honeymoon place. But you must spend more money if you want to take a trip there. Hmm.. If you love diving or snorkeling but doesn't have more money to go Maldives, I want to give you an information about one place that looks like Maldives in Indonesia. That was Derawan Islands in Borneo( the province of East Kalimantan in Indonesia).

They include Derawan, Sangalaki, Kakaban, Maratua, Panjang, and Samama Island and submerged reefs and islets. They are located in the Sulawesi Sea, on the coastal shelf of East Kalimantan (2°17′N - 118°13′E). The islands are part of the Berau Regency.

The Derawan islands in Indonesia offer spectacular diving, golden beaches and tranquility, but with ambitious plans for tourism they may not stay sleepy for long

Destination? Check this!

Stingless jely fish

Located in a biodiversity hotspot, the Derawan Islands feature 872 species of reef fishes, 507 species of coral, and invertebrates, including protected species (5 giants clam species, 2 sea turtles, coconut crab, etc.). Some of the islands harbor the heavily exploited turtle eggs and yet the largest green turtle nesting site in Indonesia.

Derawan Islands have at least two ponds contain unpoisoned jellyfish, one in Kakaban Island and the other in Maratua Island with Haji Buang Pond. Kakaban is more famous than the second which is also more difficult to access. Indonesia at least have 7 ponds with unpoisoned jellyfish, the others are 3 ponds in Raja Ampat, West Papua, one in Togean Island, Central Sulawesi and one in Rote Island, East Nusa Tenggara.

There are two inhabited islands, namely Derawan (1 village of 1,259 people) and Maratua (4 villages of 2,704 people).Fishing is an important income-generating activity for the community. Since the early 1990s, people have caught livegroupers, napoleon wrasse, and lobsters, to fill high demand.

Labuan Cermin "The lake with 2 flavour"

Have you ever heard about the lake which have 2 tastes and really clear just like a mirror? Sounds pretty cool huh?

When you visit Derawan you must visit here too, cause it's like a miracle! just imagine the salt water and unsalted water is here in Labuan Cermin they remain separate but side by side and make really unsightly. yup just like a mirror.

Labuan Cermin is located in labuan kelambu village in biduk-biduk of east borneo that can reached by road about 6 to 7 hours from capital of Berau regency, tanjung redeb.

Green turtle traffic

Maratua island with clean white sand and crystal-clear water. Beside of the blue water, you will be amaze by the view of coral reefs with many fish and sea turtles crossing every day, and you can see it when you still in your resort.

Indeed, Maratua is known as a green turtle traffic, along of Maratua island is famous as the site of the largest spawning grounds for this kind of turtle. Hundreds of turtles lay their eggs on the island each year. in fact, this is the hometown of green turtles because so many green turtles visit Maratua island.

The secreet lagoon

It's Hide, it's secret, yup it's secret lagoon in Derawan. It's only a few people know this place, In addition to having access is fairly limited, this secret lagoon is hidden by the hill. But don't worry however there is always a way to get there. The limited access is not cause by people don't know how to get there, but it cause you must get there in the right time. Yup, in evening or when sea level rise you can't go there, why? it because you must through the cave that will full of water when sea level rising.

Dive with Manta ray

Manta ray the big brother of stingray fish. yup there is a manta point where you can see the Manta ray here's some place in Sangalaki Island that usually you can see the Manta Ray Cleanning Station, Manta Parade and Manta Run point

You can also find whale shark in here, but it's really really really reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyy limited access. Why I say like that? because it's still hide from public and only limited people can access there, including me. But I'm really sorry that can't tell you right now.

Bromo then I Explained about mystery and unique fact that Borobudur Temple The 7 Wonders has, And get lost to The last Dinosaurs on the earth in Komodo Island that make you say woooohooo!!!. This time we take our journey to the most incredible thing that can only found in Hidden Place in Indonesia.. yup as the title said The Dancing Blue Fire of Ijen Crater. This is Paradise that you only see with a limited time, but it's really worth. Trust me!

Ijen Crater is located in... wait wait wait wait? are you have ever heard about Ijen? When you said No, You should Read this till end of this post.

Okay let's go...

Ijen Crater or Kawah Ijen is another volcanic tourism attraction in Banyuwangi, East java, Indonesia. Ijen Crater (Kawah Ijen) is a famous tourism object, which has been known by the domestic and foreign tourists because of the beautiful and charming nature. It is 5,466 hectares, 2,386 meters high from the depth of the sea, with a 92 hectares tourism forest. Its temperature is between 2 to 8 degree centigrade and the crater area lies at 2.386 meters above sea level (mdpl).

There are many beautiful species of plants that can be found there, such as; the edelweiss flower and the Casuarina Junghu (cemara gunung), etc. Various animals can also be seen in the area like jungle fowl (ayam hutan) and porcupine (landak).

The Ijen Crater lies about 68km from the town center. There are some of facilities here such as: a campground, a shelter and Tourist Information Center (TIC) etc.

The Best Time to see Blue fire of Ijen Crater

The best time to enjoy the crater scenery is at morning ( about 4-5am), when the yellow sunlight glows the yellow water and shines the surrounding mountain like mount Merapi, the sister of Mount Ijen.

The Dangerous Track

Acrid sulfur gas (sulfur dioxide) is very dangerous to health. High temperature near the pipes from which sulfur flows is a life-threatening. It was very difficult to breathe, and your eyes will filled with tears because of the smoke and sulfur gas. So be really carefully when when you going down to the crater.

Deadly lake but Lovely view

Sitting in the heart of the Ijen crater is a sky-blue lake approximately one kilometre across. The colours of the lake contrast with the sterile moonscape of the rest of the crater, and at first glimpse you might think this a beautiful scene. In reality, the lake has the pH of car battery acid and will quickly turn a metal can into nothing but a fizzing, bubbling memory.

Around the edges of the lake is a series of vents where the volcanic gases escape. Local miners have placed ceramic pipes over these vents and as the gases travel down the pipes, they condense and turn into liquid sulphur. This quickly cools and solidifies. This bright yellow residue, used in cosmetics and medicines, is harvested by miners using only the most basic of tools.

Track To Ijen

In order to reach the famous lake, you must first climb to the top and then descend into the crater. The way from the ticket office to the top takes about 3 km, the altitude difference is 500 m. If you do not hurry up, the road is rather simple. It’s steeper at the beginning and almost flat after a cafe halfway.

Typically an entrance to the crater opens at 1am. But in case of a high activity of the volcano this time can be shifted to the morning or even prohibited for tourists.

Road Back From Ijen

The road back is very beautiful. Mountain peaks of volcanic complex, a fog and clouds shrouding slopes, scorched trees and dense vegetation of forests and fields are on the way.

How to reach Ijen Crater?

To reach Ijen, take the train from Yogyakarta or Surabaya to Karangasem station or, alternatively, the ferry from Bali to Ketapang. Due to the danger involved in entering the crater, hiring a guide is highly advisable. Entrance to the park costs Rp. 100,000 as of August 2014 (Rp. 150,000 on public holidays), which does not include a Rp. 30,000 camera fee.

I think That's all about Ijen Crater. Here's some tips if you went there..

- If you can, try to avoid the holidays and long weekends, because a lot of people will be along the trail leading from the base camp to the crater rim during those periods.

Go during the dry season (May to September/October)

Trek during the night if you want to see the blue fire. It will be gone at 5 am in the morning.

- If you have any existing breathing conditions (asthma, panic easily when breathing anything other than oxygen, etc.) and/or have extremely sensitive eyes, then I would strongly recommend you don’t try to get into the Caldera.

- You do NOT need to have a climbing experience, or an extraordinary level of fitness, but if you already get out of breath going up a fly of staircase, then you will be a little frustrated, but just a little.

- I'm highly recommended start your journey from Yogyakarta then to Mt. Bromo then to Ijen Crater then to Bali or reverse of that

So here we go again..

Komodo is one of the 13.466 islands that compose the Indonesia Archipelago. Komodo National Park is located in the center of the Indonesian archipelago, between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores. Established in 1980, initially the main purpose of the Park was to conserve the unique Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) and its habitat. However, over the years, the goals for the Park have expanded to protecting its entire biodiversity, both terrestrial and marine. In 1986, the Park was declared a World Heritage Site and a Man and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, both indications of the Park's biological importance. The island is particularly notable as the habitat of the Komodo dragon, the largest lizard on Earth or The last dinosaurs on the earth, which is named after the island. Komodo Island has a surface area of 390 square kilometres and a human population of over two thousand. The people of the island are descendants of former convicts who were exiled to the island and who have mixed with Bugis from Sulawesi. The people are primarily adherents of Islam but there are also Christian and Hindu congregations.

Position of Komodo Island

Komodo Dragon can growing to a maximum length of 3 metres (10 ft) in rare cases and weighing up to approximately 70 kilograms (150 lb) and I think this Dinosaurs is really lazy ( when your friend is lazy, call them komodo) they dont make a lot of moves, but when they in hunting mode they can run up to 20km/h(about 13mph) so be aware when they are in hunting mode. there's one komodo that you must be aware when you meet him, his name is "kolor ijo". This komodo raises one victim every year, so people colored their tail with green color so he can recognized by the visitor. But don't be afraid of them, you will covered/protected by the ~~Power Ranger~~ I mean local ranger/guide then you'll be safe after all.

The interested thing is not only about komodo dragon, but also the landscape of view make us feels like in Paradise. It's really refresh your mind, your eyes, and your soul.

with pretty complete facility, this boat won't make you bored and you can see good view.

We called this "kapal phinisi" or "phinisi boat"

Borobudur Temple The 7 Wonders of the world Previously I'm already explain to you what is Indonesia and take your first Adventure in Mt. Bromo. This time I will take you to go to Borobudur Temple and I will share to you about a little mystery that Brobudur Temple has.
Have you ever heard about Borobudur Temple? I guess yes!
But, did you know where is it, and what kind of history inside it?

Here we Go...

Borobudur is a Buddhist temple located in the Magelang City, Central Java Province, and about 40 km from the Yogyakarta city. Borobudur temple consists of 6 levels of a square, 3 level in the form of circular and 1 main stupa, the total is 10 stupa. At each level there are several stupas. At the Borobudur stupa in addition there are 72 main stupa and there is a statue of Buddha in every stupa. Ten levels of Buddhist philosophy is, the ten levels of Bodhisattva who must pass to reach the perfection to be a Buddha in nirvana. The main stupa symbolizes the perfection which is the highest level. when viewed from above, Borobudur structure forming a mandala structure that describes the patterns of human thought and Buddhist cosmology. Borobudur Temple was built in the 9th century, or about the year 800 AD.3
In ethnic Chinese, this temple is also called 婆罗浮屠 (Hanyu Pinyin: po luo fú TU) in Mandarin.

Many books - history books will write about Borobudur Temple but when it was founded can not know for sure
but an estimate can be obtained with a short writing carved on the original frame Borobudur reliefs feet (Karwa Wibhangga)
shows similar letter to the one got from the inscriptions in the late twentieth century - 8 until the early twentieth century - 9
of evidence - such evidence can drag the conclusion that Borobudur was founded around the year 800 AD

The Biggest Temple in The World

Borobudur Temple is recorded in the Guinnes World Records as archeological site which is the biggest Buddhist temple in the world, with an area of 15,129 meters, the height of 42 meters with 10 levels, long realif > 1 km, and the 72 stupas.

Moreover Borobudur Temple also got the title of world heritage of ONESCO

Build with "Advance Technology" That time

Maybe at the time it made such a big temple of Borobudur is not difficult. But you need to know, Borobudur was built before the Cambodian community build Temples of Angkor Wat, Borobudur Temple also built before the Europeans and Americans to build multi-storey buildings.

Borobudur Temple is extremely complicated structure, in fact, more complex than the pyramids in Egypt. Just imagine, a rock weighing approximately 2 tonnes are arranged one by one until it becomes a temple of 10 levels. The stone is also drawn in detail and thoroughly describing the lives of the people of the Kingdom of Sailendra dynasty at that time.

One the amazing facts is that the architecture and the building of this temple is actually done without any cements, every structure is made out of rocks and bricks, being put together like lego bricks. WOW!

As The Giant Clock

If you've been to Borobudur Temple, you know the temple has a lot of the stupa shaped like a Bell upside down. In the temple there are 72 stupas, there is the largest stupa in the top floor of the Temple.

But have you ever thought if the stupas were used as a clock?

According to scientists, the stupa at Borobudur Temple also served as a sundial. This clock is used as a tool for measuring time.

Gunadarma using stupas on the Borobudur temple as the point hours. Because it is a sundial, a needle winder is the largest stupa shadow you can found on the top floor. If you look at the shadow of the biggest stupas at the top floor is always fall exactly on the lower floor of the stupa.

Who would have thought when the temple is a giant Sundial.

The Perfect Pyramid

Borobudur Temple's architecture is only one in whole world, Exactly Borobudur itself.

This being the excess of the Borobudur Temple which make the building very difficult to predict. Pyramid belonging to Borobudur Temple is not the same as the Giant pyramids in Egypt or the pyramids of Teotihuacan in Mexico. Borobudur pyramid constructed in the form of stairs which will never be found or owned in the area or any country including India. It became the main characteristic of Buddhist architecture in Indonesia.

Every each level has different meaning

levels that are in the Temple it was not without meaning. Each level has really deep meaning and philosophy. The first level is kamadhatu. This most basic level, that is where people still follow their lust or ego. Second, rupadhatu. mean, the body consists of the physical and the spiritual. At this stage, human beings are in levels that begin to hold their lust and thinking about their spiritual life. Third, the rupadhatu, spirit without body. Mean that human bodies have blend with soil, and their spirit back to the creator.

It Is Still Used As A Place Of Pilgrimage

Borobudur Temple is not only as tour destination, but also a place of pilgrimage Buddhists from all over the world. Every year, espesialy on Vesak Day, Buddhists from all over Indonesia gathered here to pray. In fact, many Buddhists from overseas who come meditate on that day.

Now that we've known a bit about Borobudur Temple, here are some stuffs that you should probably know and prepare before you visit this magnificent site here:

1. Wear a pair shorts (for batik sarung)
Actually, it is recommended to come here wearing polite clothes (such as pants and long jeans). But, with that being said, the weather is pretty hot here, so it might be more comfortable for you to wear shorts just like what I did. Plus, they do provide a batik sarung for you to double up if you're wearing a pair of shorts.
The main purpose of the batik sarung is to preserve the decency and respect towards the heritage.

P.S. It is mandatory for you to wear this batik sarung if you are wearing a pair of shorts while visiting. These batik sarungs are lent to you without any charges. Borobudur fashion for the win!

2. Travel light
If you are planning to explore the temple and the whole area, then you might want to start by travelling light. Don't bring unnecessary stuffs around with you as the area is quite big, so it might drain your energy easily.

3. Bring water
Hydrate yourself well with water. Don't let the scorching sun dehydrate you and cause you to get a heatstroke.

4. Wear sunscreen
If you're the type of person who doesn't like to bask under the harsh sunlight, then you'd better apply a proper amount of sunscreen on your skin. This can also help prevent black spots on your skin caused by UV Ray.

5. Wear a hat
The same reason as why you should wear a sunscreen, this might protect you from getting dizzy because of the harsh sunlight.

6. Don't be in a hurry to buy souvenirs
When you come to a tourist spot, it might be tempting to buy some gifts and souvenirs back for your friends or families. And there are PLENTY of cheap and cute souvenirs to get from here, so take your time and choose wisely.
P.S. by plenty, I mean plentyyyyyyy

7. Vesak Day Festival
The Vesak Day Festival is held once every year on May during the full moon. During this period, there will be plenty of visitors who come to celebrate the birth, death, and enlightenment of Buddha. So plan out your visit dates before you come, choose whether you would like to come for the festival and enjoy the crowd or to stroll around freely when there is less crowd.

This what I mean when you take a Trip and Adventure in Mt. Bromo.

Now you know what is Indonesia that's really wonderful place, isn't it? and from now on I will take you to one of Indonesia's hidden paradise. Bromo? yes, Bromo! it's a good place to take your adventure.

Mount Bromo (Indonesian: Gunung Bromo), is an active volcano and part of the Tengger massif, Malang, in East Java, Indonesia. At 2,329 metres (7,641 ft) it is not the highest peak of the massif, but is the most well known. The massif area is one of the most visited tourist attractions in East Java, Indonesia. The volcano belongs to the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The name of Bromo derived from Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the Hindu creator god. Sulfur is collected from inside the caldera by workers.

You can Flight from Jakarta to Malang and take any land transportation to Bromo. (I'm highly recommended to arrive in there at 5AM.)

Once you arrived there you can walk (that's realy dark and far enough), horsing, by jeep, or by offroad bike to go to top of the Mt. bromo.

You can see sunrise, and sunset also from here and I guarantee that was awesome. Or maybe you can explore somewhere in here with offroad bike like pasir berbisik, bukit teletubies searching girlfriend maybe :)

I can't say any word to describe how beautiful is this place. this place is the destination you must go before you die.
