I started early… picking up my car from the service department at the local Honda dealer before 8am. Then off to the beach, where I visited for a while with my friend Catherine. By 9am, I picked up my friend <a href="http://www.greenislescrafts.com/" target="_blank">Tee Thompson</a> and off to Panera Bread Company we went for breakfast!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1marchatctobemailedbrightcolorssharonfield" alt="1marchatctobemailedbrightcolorssharonfield" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-cBqj1ScPXNc/US4ii4-2OeI/AAAAAAAAQ8k/3Mc3aHSRl74/1marchatctobemailedbrightcolorssharonfield%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="281">LOL, often our ‘breakfasts’ at Panera last for hours… but around 1030am the phone rang and it was our good friend Eva who was at a nearby surgical center with one of her DD’s. So… we got a little snack for Eva and went off to meet and support her.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2marchatcbrightfocalflowerimagessfield" alt="2marchatcbrightfocalflowerimagessfield" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-3cxpmt-po0A/US4ijUdVRbI/AAAAAAAAQ8s/rDitWpgo794/2marchatcbrightfocalflowerimagessfield%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="222">By 11am Eva’s DD was out of surgery, so I took Tee back to her house and left for a scheduled meeting with a new friend ‘Kina’ at her stamp room and store. As we were wrapping up our visit… MY DD called and we agreed to meet for lunch at European Street Cafe (yum)! <img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3marchatcjolenesbeesharonfieldcbyu" alt="3marchatcjolenesbeesharonfieldcbyu" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-cHhWcgnPMZs/US4ijyg5eoI/AAAAAAAAQ80/mVPei2wpNbw/3marchatcjolenesbeesharonfieldcbyu%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="277">By 230pm I was back home, and although I should have set down to stamp, Instead cut out several new stamp images including the one used in today’s March ATC from Chocolate Baroque Rubber Stamps! Well, time flies when you’re admiring new stamps… right? <img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="4marchatcsudahlianadjoelenebeesfield" alt="4marchatcsudahlianadjoelenebeesfield" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-8NCCt27Hlb4/US4ikSdI__I/AAAAAAAAQ88/7H7eU_xMcUs/4marchatcsudahlianadjoelenebeesfield%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="207">It seemed like just a few minutes before DH walked in from work at 5pm!! LOL, so it was leftovers for dinner! And… of course my apologies to Esther as I’ve ruined her morning cup of Joe once again;)<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="5marchatcdarkenedbackgroundsfield" alt="5marchatcdarkenedbackgroundsfield" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-VXMp-gthOOI/US4ik-3lCnI/AAAAAAAAQ9E/LIk-n5UXcdI/5marchatcdarkenedbackgroundsfield%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="263">Chocolate Baroque is a stamp company from the United Kingdom if I remember correctly what Kina told me… and they’re great for coloring with Copic Markers or re-inkers and blender pens. This one is called Pretty Poppies. </p> <p>Today I’ve colored them using Copic markers to achieve very brightly colored floral images. I’ve also added Bee accents from Jolene, Dahlia’s, rhinestones and polka dot brads from Stampin’ Up! and Signo White Gel Pen dots in the background.</p> <p>Thanks so much for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your comments!</p> <p>Hugs,</p> <p>Sharon</p> <p><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank">Shop</a> <a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank">my online stampin’ up! store</a> for exclusive stampin’ up! supplies used on today’s March ATC Pretty Poppies from Chocolate Baroque</p> <div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:0767317B-992E-4b12-91E0-4F059A8CECA8:3b309d8b-3f43-4e34-be4d-7195a3713317" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent">Technorati Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tags/chocolate+baroque" rel="tag">chocolate baroque</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/pretty+poppies" rel="tag">pretty poppies</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/signo+white+gel+pen" rel="tag">signo white gel pen</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/atc+swaps" rel="tag">atc swaps</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/bright+colors" rel="tag">bright colors</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/copic+markers" rel="tag">copic markers</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/stampin'+up!" rel="tag">stampin' up!</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/jolene" rel="tag">jolene</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/bee" rel="tag">bee</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/stickers" rel="tag">stickers</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/my+online+stampin+up+store" rel="tag">my online stampin up store</a></div> <div class="blogger-post-footer">Sharon Field</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2816521109002528629.post-35304974017990246142013-02-26T04:17:00.000-05:002013-02-26T04:17:00.022-05:00Tuesday Teaser Chicken Pasta Pesto BLNT<p>That should read Tuesday Teaser Chicken Pasta Pesto Recipe and BLNT… but I ran out of space! Why Tuesday Teaser? LOL… this recipe is so delicious, your mouth should be watering right now!!</p> <p>Last weekend in celebration of our DD’s birthday, DH and I made one of her favorite recipes… Sicilian Chicken Pasta Pesto with Angel Hair Pasta. DH ‘mans’ the food processor portion, while I boil and grill. This recipe is very aromatic, and comes together REALLY fast ROFL… especially when you have two people working together!! Modified from an original recipe we found on America’s Test Kitchen, we’ve adapted it to fit our family’s fondness for Italian chicken dishes with a bit of spice.</p> <p align="center"><strong><em><u>Chicken and Angel Hair Pasta Pesto</u></em></strong></p> <p align="center"><em><font size="4">by Sharon Field… adapted from America’s Test Kitchen</font></em></p> <p>Serves 6-8</p> <p><strong>Ingredients:</strong></p> <ul> <li>1/4 cup (heaping) whole almonds</li> <li>14 oz cherry, grape or Campari Tomatoes (or any combination of sweet tomatoes… Marzano would be fab too!)</li> <li>1/2 cup (PACKED) fresh basil washed and stemmed (two of those packages from the produce section)</li> <li>5-6 medium to large garlic cloves</li> <li>3-4 pepperoncini stemmed but seeds en tact.</li> <li>1 tsp red pepper flakes</li> <li>1/3 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil Light (EVO Light)</li> <li>12 oz. Angel Hair Pasta</li> <li>1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan Cheese</li> <li>2 whole chicken breasts cut into 1/2” x 1.5” pieces</li> <li>1 TBSP EVO Light</li> <li>1 tsp Rosemary-Herb Seasoning (we love the one we get from Pampered Chef)</li></ul> <p><strong>Step By Step Instructions:</strong></p> <ol> <li>Toast whole almonds over medium high heat, stirring often… about 4 minutes, set aside to cool. Toasted almonds have such a delicious aroma and toasting adds SO much flavor too! Tip… while waiting for them to cool, get that pasta water ready… it takes a while to boil!!</li> <li>Place the first 6 ingredients into the food processor… you may have to work in batches, scraping down the sides and pulsing until everything is liquefied. </li> <li>With the food processor running, slowly drizzle the EVO Light into the mixture let the machine run for about 30 seconds then turn it off… use that little opening/slot at the top of the food processor (most food processors have locking lids, thank God!!! Someday I’ll tell you about the hot soup exploding blender trick.)</li> <li>Heat 1 TBSP EVO Light until hot (it will just begin to smoke) and then toss in cut up chicken breast. Sprinkle with Rosemary-Herb seasoning and toss chicken to coat. Cook until juices run clear… about 3-5 minutes.</li> <li>If you can multi-task, you can add your pasta to boiling water while cooking the chicken breast… LOL, if not… then do it now! Be sure to cook the pasta Al-Dente according to package directions.</li> <li>When pasta is done, pour off 1 cup liquid and set aside before draining the rest of the liquid.</li> <li>Put the drained pasta back into the pan and add Pesto Sauce, tossing with noodles… if it’s really thick and gummy add a bit of the reserved pasta water to thin. </li> <li>Add the cooked Chicken to the pasta and it’s ready to serve… LOL you could serve right from the pan or plate it if you’ve got company!!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1angelhairpastapestochickensharonfield" alt="1angelhairpastapestochickensharonfield" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-eWwLbs9xn5w/UStdw09Gn-I/AAAAAAAAQ8M/8zrj4xlHZQg/1angelhairpastapestochickensharonfield%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="300" height="284"> </li></ol> <p>This dish is really yummy, but not too pretty, LOL… it would be much prettier if we simply topped the pasta with the chicken and then pesto…. but then the sauce wouldn’t give the noodles the lovely well coated flavor!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2farrokalesaladsharonfieldcreatedbyu" alt="2farrokalesaladsharonfieldcreatedbyu" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-SVMaEsPjcJg/UStdxsWoRXI/AAAAAAAAQ8U/_FyU5sB8seo/2farrokalesaladsharonfieldcreatedbyu%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="300" height="261">We usually serve this dish with a fresh green salad… but last weekend we changed it up a bit adding Warm Tuscan Farro Salad as our side.. Kale was never so delicious…yum! I’ve got a little Kale left over, and am going to make microwave kale chips today… should be interesting!</p> <p>One of my favorite breakfast ‘treats’ is half of a bacon lettuce tomato sandwich on sourdough toast…. LOL, today's Tuesday Teaser recipe uses a LOT of tomatoes and so this morning my sandwich was missing the Tomato… Bacon Lettuce NO Tomato (BLNT)… it’s just not the same!!! </p> <p>I’d love to write a food blog, LOL… but where oh where would I find the time? I’d have to give up stamping, and that’s not going to happen anytime soon! Plus just writing about dinner made me hungry!! Luckily these dishes are both very good served cold, I think I’ll have a quick bite!</p> <p> It’s raining, it’s raining… and it’s not a commercial… but I’m in great need of inspiration on this dark and dreary day!! Guess I will go check out some challenges to see if I can spark my creativity and get some stamping done :). See you tomorrow with a new stamped project or card!</p> <p>I look forward to reading your comments, and thanks for stopping by!</p> <p>Hugs,</p> <p><strong><em><font color="#0000ff" size="7" face="Vivaldi">Sharon</font></em></strong></p> <p align="center"><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><em><font size="4">Shop my online stampin’ up store</font></em></a><em><font size="4"> </font></em></a><em><font size="4"> for exclusive Stampin’ Up! Today’s CAS card for Senior Stampers reminded me of that and was good for a laugh or two too!</p> <p>During the Senior Stamping sessions, the card sample is placed in a protective sleeve and set on the table as a suggestion for them to follow when creating their card. Last week I heard some giggling from one end of the table as one of the stampers removed the card from the protective sleeve and propped it standing and open on the table top.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1casseniorsperceptiononecreatedbyu" alt="1casseniorsperceptiononecreatedbyu" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-XyCc1r9ecB8/UStCynLkqDI/AAAAAAAAQ7s/KsOSOCTqGXQ/1casseniorsperceptiononecreatedbyu%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="262">LOL… it may have been rotated 180 degrees with the sentiment at the bottom… but either way it was cause for giggles. They thought I had glued the sentiment onto the card incorrectly… NOT that it couldn’t have happened that way…<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2casseniorsperceptiontwotherealcardcbyu" alt="2casseniorsperceptiontwotherealcardcbyu" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-3gTgIsZMi-8/UStCzAh4GoI/AAAAAAAAQ70/Kpp_X-uXMpU/2casseniorsperceptiontwotherealcardcbyu%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="359">BUT… My card was made to stand vertically. More laughter of course as they realized the card could go either way, it was just a matter of perception and where/how they decided to place the sentiment!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3casseniorcardwithbirthdaygreetingcbyu213" alt="3casseniorcardwithbirthdaygreetingcbyu213" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-2poIoAM603Y/UStCzagRUDI/AAAAAAAAQ78/cXG_67b61oI/3casseniorcardwithbirthdaygreetingcbyu213%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="246">Isn’t it funny how our minds can play tricks? It’s all in our heads! I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s step by step <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2013/02/for-you-post-it-note-easel-tutorial.html" target="_blank">post it note easel tutorial</a>… LOL, a bit photo heavy wasn’t it? Today I’m giving you a break.. only THREE photos!! </p> <p>Today’s card is a Bright and Happy, Clean and Simple (CAS) card we made in last weeks’ Senior Stamping Class! The class is held twice monthly at the Jim Fortuna Senior Center here in Jacksonville, Florida and is always such fun!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1secondfridaycardforseniorsfebruaryslf" alt="1secondfridaycardforseniorsfebruaryslf" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-PQXJ7DSLwhY/USjRWrNSNFI/AAAAAAAAQ7M/9HC_Rt-NgE0/1secondfridaycardforseniorsfebruaryslf%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="235">The pretty Melon Mambo and Whisper White Designer Series Paper is from the Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper Pack from Stampin’ Up! The double sided paper has colorful tiny umbrellas on the reverse side, which some of the Senior Stampers preferred to use… it’s all about choices and with double sided paper they get to decide which side to use!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2secondfridaypaperlacetapeandpunch" alt="2secondfridaypaperlacetapeandpunch" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-PH6ERD4zsz0/USjRgUUkI6I/AAAAAAAAQ7U/GbHxgTr8168/2secondfridaypaperlacetapeandpunch%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="209"> The Melon Mambo patterned DSP was paired with complimentary colors of Basic Black and Whisper White, punched stamped accents and paper lace tape.</p> <p>Two stamp sets were used… the Quint-Essential Flower Stamp (free offer from Sale-A-Bration) and the elegant “Thank You” from the Blooming with Kindness Stamp Set.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3secondfridaycardforseniorsprofilephoto" alt="3secondfridaycardforseniorsprofilephoto" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ceEg4B6Gipw/USjRhEDCEvI/AAAAAAAAQ7c/05LHw5N2avg/3secondfridaycardforseniorsprofilephoto%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="216">The reason the stamp is called Quint-Essential is because it works with five different punches, isn’t that cool? LOL, only three punches were used to create the low profile and popped focal image/greeting: 2-3/8” Scallop Circle Punch, 1-1/4” scallop circle punch and the 1-3/8” circle punch. The low profile is very US Postal Service (Mail) friendly too, requiring only a standard postage stamp.</p> <p>Hope you enjoyed today’s quick and easy, clean and simple card for seniors… It’s really quite bright and happy in person!</p> <p>I look forward to reading your comments, thanks so much for stopping by today!</p> <p>Hugs,</p> <p><font color="#0000ff" size="7" face="Vivaldi"><strong><em>Sharon</em></strong></font></p> <p align="center"><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><em>Shop</em></a><em> </em><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><em>my online stampin’ up! store</em></a><em> for supplies used in today’s…</em></p> <p align="center"><em>Bright and Happy CAS Card for Seniors</em></p> <p align="center"><em>Don’t forget to select your Sale-A-Bration freebies with each $50 merchandise increment too!</em></p> <div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:0767317B-992E-4b12-91E0-4F059A8CECA8:3d4c02e5-c42a-4d4a-bad8-19a2a0429ad1" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent">Technorati Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tags/cas" rel="tag">cas</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/clean+and+simple" rel="tag">clean and simple</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/seniors" rel="tag">seniors</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/quick+and+easy" rel="tag">quick and easy</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/sunshine+and+sprinkles" rel="tag">sunshine and sprinkles</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/designer+series+paper" rel="tag">designer series paper</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/melon+mambo" rel="tag">melon mambo</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/basic+black" rel="tag">basic black</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/whisper+white" rel="tag">whisper white</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/punches" rel="tag">punches</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/scallop+circle+punch" rel="tag">scallop circle punch</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/my+online+stampin+up+store" rel="tag">my online stampin up store</a></div> <div class="blogger-post-footer">Sharon Field</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2816521109002528629.post-47022582461044367072013-02-23T08:58:00.001-05:002013-02-23T08:58:56.149-05:00For You: Post It Note Easel Tutorial<p>You asked for it… and today’s <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/p/tutorials.html" target="_blank">Super Saturday Tutorial</a> Delivers it! Today’s Tutorial will walk you step by step through the methodology behind making the basic <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2013/02/all-dressed-up-pretty-post-it-note-easel.html" target="_blank">post it note easel</a> holder!<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-fzH1kFlp0ak/USjK7Wsoy5I/AAAAAAAAQ2k/PQ2SAyont_E/s1600-h/1apostitnotesupersattutorial%25255B2%25255D.jpg"> </a> LOL, the decorations are up to you… but all the mystery is solved!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1apostitnotesupersattutorial" alt="1apostitnotesupersattutorial" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-o2P8KkHBf3s/USjK8hrLeCI/AAAAAAAAQ2s/4QPg75jCpHQ/1apostitnotesupersattutorial%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="252"></p> <p> Today’s <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2013/02/all-dressed-up-pretty-post-it-note-easel.html" target="_blank">post it note easel</a> tutorial is heavy with pictures… one for each step of the way. The post it note holder base was purchased in the craft section at Wally World. Enjoy!</p> <p align="center"><strong>Step By Step </strong><a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2013/02/all-dressed-up-pretty-post-it-note-easel.html" target="_blank"><strong>Post It Note Easel</strong></a><strong> Tutorial</strong></p> <p><u><strong>Part I - Covering the post it note holder</strong></u></p> <ol> <li>Measure the chipboard base of the post it note holder you plan to cover with designer series paper. I always use Stampin’ Up! Grid Paper on my work surface so measuring is a breeze!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1measureothepsostitnoteholderforpaper" alt="1measureothepsostitnoteholderforpaper" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-z5TNFT1etkY/USjK9OQ1shI/AAAAAAAAQ20/ZOH-2V1GYHA/1measureothepsostitnoteholderforpaper%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="261"> </li> <li>Use a straight edge or a scrap of card stock to measure the depth of the rivet on the post it note holder. Measure each side separately as the depth may differ. I used a pencil to mark the depth on my grid paper.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2measuredepthofrivetusingstraightedge" alt="2measuredepthofrivetusingstraightedge" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-63rlLW9uMZ0/USjK90WaIFI/AAAAAAAAQ28/8hwxlX6Vp28/2measuredepthofrivetusingstraightedge%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="185"></li> <li> Cut Designer Series Paper to the measurement you acquired in step one. In this case, two pieces of DSP will be cut… one for the back and one for the front of the post it note holder. Working with the piece you plan to use for the top of the post it note holder, place the paper under the jaws of the post it note holder and make a pencil mark to indicate the center of each rivet. (I used ink pen for better visibility.. you’ll want to use a pencil so you can erase it!!)<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3makeapencillinecenteredonrivetslfcbyu" alt="3makeapencillinecenteredonrivetslfcbyu" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-WJl7BmMxU34/USjK-ckX6KI/AAAAAAAAQ3E/qrQF_PFtPU0/3makeapencillinecenteredonrivetslfcbyu%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="262"> </li> <li>Use your lovely new Stampin’ Trimmer to cut at the pencil mark to the depth acquired in step two… in this case it was 3/4”. I set the blade of my Stampin’ Trimmer at 3/4” and cut to the top of the paper.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="4cutatpencillinetomeasureddepthfrom2" alt="4cutatpencillinetomeasureddepthfrom2" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-SPa-DU5R-Js/USjK-zLIQUI/AAAAAAAAQ3M/4EDYEVsVkDA/4cutatpencillinetomeasureddepthfrom2%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="262"> </li> <li>Use a Japanese hole punch or Crop-a-Dile tool and the 3/16” hole to punch hole. You want to align the hole so that it is on the line but doesn’t pass beyond the cut. I’ve darkened the cut line with an ink pen to make it a bit more visible in the photo… clear as mud, right?<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="5punchatbaseofcutlinewithcropadile" alt="5punchatbaseofcutlinewithcropadile" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-zm1T6WyCrfs/USjK_6p3faI/AAAAAAAAQ3Y/2r8k3aMQRWs/5punchatbaseofcutlinewithcropadile%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="262"> </li> <li>Insert a pen into the jaws of the clip on the post it note holder. A stick pen works best… and the barrel of your Signo White Gel Pen will work too ;) This lifts the jaw of the post it note holder so you’ll be able to slide your DSP under the clip in a future step.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="6placebarrellofpeninjawsofpostitnoteholder" alt="6placebarrellofpeninjawsofpostitnoteholder" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-0EBJYq5SooE/USjLBmGq8rI/AAAAAAAAQ3g/3K1X_-cf7C4/6placebarrellofpeninjawsofpostitnoteholder%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="204"> </li> <li>Fold down the four flaps at the top of the cut DSP. (I’m showing a different DSP in this step because I forgot to take the photo of the folded flaps when preparing the tutorial… oops!)<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="7folddowncutedgesof4inchpaperslf" alt="7folddowncutedgesof4inchpaperslf" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-NfCfiw16pe0/USjLCZY_FUI/AAAAAAAAQ3o/AKimE99pRPM/7folddowncutedgesof4inchpaperslf%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="318"> </li> <li>Slide the paper under the pen lifted jaw mechanism, carefully unfold the ears or wings… you can use a bone folder to help unfold the ears. Glue the paper in place before removing the pen.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="8withedgesfoldedinsertpaperbelowjaws" alt="8withedgesfoldedinsertpaperbelowjaws" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ktqEB7NB9_g/USjLC2IdVQI/AAAAAAAAQ3w/ConOcjVIDW8/8withedgesfoldedinsertpaperbelowjaws%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="262"> <img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="9unfoldtheflapsandglueintoplace" alt="9unfoldtheflapsandglueintoplace" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-OZfD2XA0vC4/USjLDXjx8eI/AAAAAAAAQ34/41XJo5bRNI4/9unfoldtheflapsandglueintoplace%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="195"> </li> <li>Glue second piece of DSP to the back of the post it note holder and trim the corners with your paper snips or sand using a sanding block. I prefer to do both… trim and then sand.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="10removethepenandsandortrimcorners" alt="10removethepenandsandortrimcorners" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-W5TL86Fw3YI/USjLD-u2FMI/AAAAAAAAQ4A/_NFUQTDMynE/10removethepenandsandortrimcorners%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="235"></li></ol> <p> <u><strong>Part II - Making the Post It Note Easel</strong></u></p> <ol> <li>Cut a piece of chipboard 3.25” x 5” and with the long side aligned at the top of your Simply Scored board, use a straight edge and the large ball end of the scoring tool to deeply score at 2”. (This is a really great use for the chipboard that is packaged with most Specialty Designer Series Paper Packs from Stampin’ Up!… LOL, it’s also a really great opportunity to re-use those old hotel room keys!)<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="11scorechipboardeaselat2and4inches" alt="11scorechipboardeaselat2and4inches" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-DlY6kSd0NVc/USjLEgtMHaI/AAAAAAAAQ4I/3Ceujucm9EM/11scorechipboardeaselat2and4inches%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="242"> </li> <li>Repeat, scoring at the 4” line. LOL… I used a myriad of materials along with retired and new stamp images.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1_ohhelloatcblackandwhitemwssharonfield" alt="1_ohhelloatcblackandwhitemwssharonfield" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-SlsNg2KKaGw/USYOA-3n_sI/AAAAAAAAQ0Q/U0ft6lQpevg/1_ohhelloatcblackandwhitemwssharonfi.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="195">If you’re not familiar with ATC’s… they are small “Artist Trading Cards” measuring 2.5” x 3.5”. This particular swap is part of the Midwest Stamper’s Mingle for February. </p> <p>The basic ATC is done in Basic Black and And Whisper White. Embellishments include White Paper Lace tape and a complimentary feather punch. The feather is part of an EK Success border punch out which I cut apart.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2_atcwithasianbirdstampsharonfield" alt="2_atcwithasianbirdstampsharonfield" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-7C-H4a6XJek/USYOBnC7mUI/AAAAAAAAQ0Y/GyzIBW-AuLM/2_atcwithasianbirdstampsharonfield7.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="331">The swan image was stamped using silver ink… and was at the bottom of my basic black scrap file. The image is from the retired Dream Gardens stamp set which featured the swan, an Asian lady silhouette and tea pot.</p> <p>Both greeting and swan were backed using red glimmer paper… adding the pop of color needed to satisfy the ATC swap criteria.</p> <p>Tomorrow’s post will feature a new <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/p/tutorials.html" target="_blank">Super Saturday Tutorial</a>… I hope you’ll stop back by and look forward to reading your comments!</p> <p>Hugs,</p> <p><font color="#0000ff" size="7" face="Vivaldi"><strong><em>Sharon</em></strong></font></p> <p align="center"><em>Please visit </em><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><em>my online stampin’ up! store</em></a><em> to order your exclusive Stampin’ Up! supplies and take advantage of the Sale-A-Bration freebies!! Today’s card uses a variety of scraps in a fun Popped Bargello technique.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1_poppedbargellowithbirdsharonfield" alt="1_poppedbargellowithbirdsharonfield" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-WqRaE1tmdOg/USYH55iqaEI/AAAAAAAAQw4/zxUl7NDDCkA/1_poppedbargellowithbirdsharonfield%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="215">Yesterday, my friend Candy came over and wanted to try the Bargello Technique from a recent Paper Crafts Magazine article. After gathering a few of the scraps, I cut them into uniform 1/2 inch widths and then she glued them to a 4” x 5.25” piece of card stock.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2_poppedbargellobirdsharonfield221" alt="2_poppedbargellobirdsharonfield221" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-fLo3ZiPegXE/USYH6hpVqRI/AAAAAAAAQw8/DfY9hQkBf9c/2_poppedbargellobirdsharonfield221%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="275">After squaring the card stock, the pieces were again cut into 1/2” strips and glued to a Regal Rose Card Stock base. “Just Because” from the Vintage Verses stamp set was stamped in Marina Mist Classic Ink, punched using the bird and branch punch, lightly sponged along the edges and attached to the card front using a stampin’ dimensional (pop dot).</p> <p>The Bargello technique is borrowed from quilting… and although you do want to select a variety of patterns, scale and colors it’s a technique you shouldn’t over think. LOL… just gather your paper strips and go for it. This card was probably 15-20 minutes start to finish when Candy made it. </p> <p>The card reminds me of the time taught 4 & 6 year olds to make crazy quilts… put all the scraps on a king size sheet and let them pick and choose their favorites to make a small crazy quilt project.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3_poppedbargelloprofilephotosfield221" alt="3_poppedbargelloprofilephotosfield221" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-CvBEvUxxEzY/USYH7cIHbTI/AAAAAAAAQws/Id3QBGqnQmo/3_poppedbargelloprofilephotosfield221%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="137">After cutting additional 1/2” squares of DSP, they were also attached to the card base using stampin’ dimensionals for a popped bargello accent.</p> <p>The flower is from Wally world, a left over from when I made the a <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2013/02/all-dressed-up-pretty-post-it-note-easel.html" target="_blank">post it note easel</a> earlier this week. I wake up with creative ideas in my head… just waiting to come to fruition, canvas and/or card stock. Today’s card was another REM sleep visualization. Both a gift and a curse… sometimes things just don’t turn out as golden as they did in your dreams!!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1_agreensympathycardfor245groupmaybe" alt="1_agreensympathycardfor245groupmaybe" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-4U9PvfoNi2Q/USQc9fh6B1I/AAAAAAAAQt0/xJzmTPGKFCg/1_agreensympathycardfor245groupmaybe%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="262">LOL… in my dreams, this was a much prettier card… and it didn’t even have the ribbon, rhinestones or butterflies! What was I thinking!!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1_3rhinestonetrailandbutterflygreensympathy" alt="1_3rhinestonetrailandbutterflygreensympathy" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-B_P-s8tWxlU/USQc-C6QRDI/AAAAAAAAQt8/eLcaQi2rdt0/1_3rhinestonetrailandbutterflygreensympathy%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="242"></p> <p>Luckily, the rhinestones basic jewels and Stampin’ Up! Bitty Butterfly punch pulled this one out of the reject pile… but I hoped I could still do better for my Wednesday 245 group!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1_4greensympathycardredobysharonfieldlol" alt="1_4greensympathycardredobysharonfieldlol" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-vrXsFofODWc/USQc-wP9txI/AAAAAAAAQuE/ezZBIUJsH70/1_4greensympathycardredobysharonfieldlol%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="260">THIS is NOT the card we’ll be making at tomorrow’s 245 group, it’s actually the inside of the sympathy card we’ll be making. I really debated on whether to add the tiny rhinestone basic jewel to the bitty butterfly punch accent. It’s the tiniest rhinestone, so not adding too much dimensionality… hope they like it!<img style="margin: 5px auto 0px; display: block; float: none" title="1_5agreensympathyremaketwosharonfieldyes" alt="1_5agreensympathyremaketwosharonfieldyes" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-_2iB3NrqL94/USQc_dnrs0I/AAAAAAAAQuM/Nwdx-tSx2BE/1_5agreensympathyremaketwosharonfieldyes%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="262">THIS is my remake of my REM sleep card… LOL, I like it much better don’t you? The Stampin’ UP! Designer Series Paper (DSP) is retired, and the card stock colors used are very vanilla and river rock. Can you tell that Green is my favorite color?<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1_6agreensympathycardbysharonfieldremake" alt="1_6agreensympathycardbysharonfieldremake" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-tfqEmpQR4QQ/USQc_85kzmI/AAAAAAAAQuU/5tWBnn92iHk/1_6agreensympathycardbysharonfieldremake%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="322">A 2-1/2” Circle Punch from Stampin’ Up! was used to punch out the Sympathy Greeting from American Art Group which I purchased at a local craft and hobby store. I just loved the sentiment and the positive and supportive message it delivers. </p> <p>Two Bitty Butterfly punches flank the American Art Group stamped sentiment. A Stampin’ Dimensional was placed beneath the right wing of each butterfly to add just a bit of dimension…. and a rhinestone basic jewel was added to the ‘head’ of the butterfly punched embellishment.</p> <p>I’ve actually got a WHOLE day off from the boutique today… LOL, I can’t imagine what I’ll do with all my spare time ;) Providing I don’t have to spend the whole day lighting candles to combat cat farts, it should be fairly productive, LOL.</p> <p>Thanks for stopping by my humble blog today… I look forward to reading your comments!! LOL, I actually woke up with one of these cards in my brain this morning. I know it was inspired directly by a card I saw yesterday by Mary Jo Price Williams for the <a href="http://technostamper.blogspot.com/2013/02/monday-lunchtime-sketch-challenge-251.html" target="_blank">Technostamper TSST251 Lunchtime challenge</a>!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1sabanddspinspiredpunchydspcardcreatedbyu" alt="1sabanddspinspiredpunchydspcardcreatedbyu" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-XNwiPJ8E2Sg/USNxNGCCwkI/AAAAAAAAQrU/GksDdjWdDlU/1sabanddspinspiredpunchydspcardcreatedbyu%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="244">The colors are similar, but not the card… LOL, I wanted to simplify and remove some of the layers for my CAS stampers 245 group.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2sabinspireddspandpunchcardcbyu219" alt="2sabinspireddspandpunchcardcbyu219" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-1MgT72m0io4/USNxNjmB_aI/AAAAAAAAQrc/jC-BxDYUYsI/2sabinspireddspandpunchcardcbyu219%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="340">Using the Sale-A-Bration Petite Curly Label Punch and Pretty Petites stamp set from Stampin’ Up! will make it quick and easy for the ladies to stamp and center their images.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3redobashfulblueoncreatedbyusabcard" alt="3redobashfulblueoncreatedbyusabcard" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-VcB8DwKNCsQ/USNxOPx3B5I/AAAAAAAAQrk/-RT-HMSelYo/3redobashfulblueoncreatedbyusabcard%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="264">I wasn’t totally happy with my first card, so worked up another sample. This one features a different color palette but the same punches and designer series paper.<img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="4redocbyubashfulbluecardwithdspandsab" border="0" alt="4redocbyubashfulbluecardwithdspandsab" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-t5MY7OeFEZc/USNxOgohhfI/AAAAAAAAQrs/A3tMYqd2M2w/4redocbyubashfulbluecardwithdspandsab%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="331">A 1-1/4” Scallop Circle Punch was attached to the curly label punched sentiment and then placed on top of a Marina Mist faux ribbon using a stampin’ dimensional aka “pop dot”.</p> <p>I like the softness of the second card better… which one do you prefer?</p> <p>Thanks for stopping by my blog today… I’m recovering from a very, very busy week at the boutique! And just think, we’ll tear it all apart and do it again next week!</p> <p>Brrrr… It’s supposed to be warming up in North Florida after a 28 degree low yesterday morning!!</p> <p>For those who have inquired… I am working on a tutorial for the <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2013/02/all-dressed-up-pretty-post-it-note-easel.html" target="_blank">pretty post it note easel</a> which I posted last Sunday… your questions will be answered soon in one post and tutorial :)</p> <p>Stay Warm!! Hope you enjoyed yesterday’s <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2013/02/recycle-re-used-vintage-easter-tag.html" target="_blank">Vintage Easter Basket Tag</a>! Today’s project is actually the first one I made on Friday afternoon with my friend Candy. I had picked up these cute little ninety-seven cent post it note holders at Wally World.. and thought it would be a fun project for us to make while chatting.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1prettypostitnoteprojectbysharonfield" alt="1prettypostitnoteprojectbysharonfield" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-YiayiRpBjZ8/UR_tuQJVjhI/AAAAAAAAQoU/Z9lHMkAKkL0/1prettypostitnoteprojectbysharonfield%25255B12%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="292">Of course, the first thing we had to do is pick out some designer series paper to match the pretty pink post it note pad!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2vintagepostitnotesharonfield216" alt="2vintagepostitnotesharonfield216" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-lx0K885WuPw/UR_tu1FlJ0I/AAAAAAAAQoY/uIoGLoTApHY/2vintagepostitnotesharonfield216%25255B12%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="252">Of course, the Sunshine And Sprinkles DSP was a perfect match… and the pretty Double Wedding Ring Quilt pattern gave me inspiration for decorating the post it note holder too!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3vintageversesand4inchpencil" alt="3vintageversesand4inchpencil" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-eL2tLUhDS6w/UR_tvriyMlI/AAAAAAAAQok/OpXqtZElEJM/3vintageversesand4inchpencil%25255B15%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="220"> I happened to have a couple 4” mechanical pencils.. which we covered with Always Artichoke polka dot designer series paper before attaching to the post it note holder using basic gray bakers twine.</p> <p>“Just Because” is a from the free Sale-A-Bration stamp “Vintage Verses” and was stamped in Gumball Green Classic Ink onto the pink post it note. It looks like Always Artichoke ink, doesn’t it?<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="4scallopcircleandpoppedbutton" alt="4scallopcircleandpoppedbutton" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-8u3sXLs7Qp8/UR_twQ6P3FI/AAAAAAAAQos/kOrRtWg-sis/4scallopcircleandpoppedbutton%25255B10%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="150"> The pos- it note holder had this half-moon shaped tab at the top which needed a little bit of embellishment too… a 7/8” scallop circle punch in basic gray was just what we needed! I cut off 4 or 5 scallops from the bottom edge so it would rest nicely against the flat edge of the moon. Then we threaded up buttons with more Basic Gray Bakers Twine and attached them with a stampin’ dimensional to the scallop. The reason for doing this was two-fold… one it raised the button up to give it a little more dimension, and it also raised it up so that it fit…. LOL not easy to cut a flat edge along the bottom of a plastic button!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="5doubleloopbowwithartisanrose217" alt="5doubleloopbowwithartisanrose217" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-F9rwhS5ZhmU/UR_txBfHQHI/AAAAAAAAQo0/Fc8HmqU3_k4/5doubleloopbowwithartisanrose217%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="185"> Adding a pretty <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2010/12/super-saturday-tutorial-double-loop-bow.html" target="_blank">double loop bow</a> embellished with a pretty Artisan Kit Rose was the finishing touch for today’s project… the pretty in pink stitched grosgrain ribbon provided a perfectly colored accent.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="6prettypostitnotemagnetviewcreatedbyu" alt="6prettypostitnotemagnetviewcreatedbyu" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-ZyoiLuKfKrw/UR_txyBxkPI/AAAAAAAAQo8/BiicvykaQ0E/6prettypostitnotemagnetviewcreatedbyu%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="225"> The magnet on the back of the packaged post it note holder wasn’t too strong… LOL it slid down the side of the refrigerator BEFORE we added embellishments to it. So, we just ripped it off. <img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="6bprettypostitnoteeaselbacksharonfield" alt="6bprettypostitnoteeaselbacksharonfield" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-vMGMiza03CI/UR_tybvED9I/AAAAAAAAQpE/FX-G5ywYxkk/6bprettypostitnoteeaselbacksharonfield%25255B9%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="262"> After covering the back of the post it note holder with Old Olive Polka Dotted DSP we had to decide if we wanted stronger magnets (REALLY strong magnets;), to use as-is or… As you can see, we opted to add a chipboard easel covered with DSP to the back of our project!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="8finishedpostitnotesharonfield" alt="8finishedpostitnotesharonfield" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-USIN246N8sY/UR_ty8JMQpI/AAAAAAAAQpM/7p5_ZspVW6Y/8finishedpostitnotesharonfield%25255B9%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="248">Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today…. hope you enjoyed the easel post it note project featuring Stampin’ Up! From time to time, I check out the stamp section at a local craft and hobby store looking for Copic Marker suitable stamp images. LOL… and of course I have to look at all the latest and greatest gadgets and tools. </p> <p>On this particular occasion, I didn’t find much… sadly everything is so stale! I did manage to pick up a small Prima Marketing Clear Stamp Set with an Easter theme. Under $2… why not? Yesterday I finally opened the stamp set and decided I really liked the background paper insert even better than the little girl and bunny stamp images!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1216packagingforrecycledeastertagcbyu" alt="1216packagingforrecycledeastertagcbyu" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-s2XF90b7aPo/UR9jayZMk2I/AAAAAAAAQlM/pourgRgpgVM/1216packagingforrecycledeastertagcbyu%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="344">Pretty… see what I mean? I liked the pretty tag background, and it inspired me to make a pretty tag!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2216vintageeasterbaskettagbysharonfield" alt="2216vintageeasterbaskettagbysharonfield" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-0FmTboIr8Ss/UR9jbsB8GQI/AAAAAAAAQlU/MpoWlDgGTL4/2216vintageeasterbaskettagbysharonfield%25255B18%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="467">Paired with pretty papers, punches and embellishments from Stampin’ Up! the recycled packaging was re-used to make a pretty Vintage Easter Tag.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3216delightfuldozeneastersfl" alt="3216delightfuldozeneastersfl" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-3OXOV8X0VgA/UR9jcCRpKoI/AAAAAAAAQlc/25myVE4DY2c/3216delightfuldozeneastersfl%25255B10%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="207">“Happy Easter” was inked with Soft Suede Classic Ink and stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock. Don’t you just love the flowers from the Artisan Embellishment Kit? I wish Stampin’ Up! would carry more of these types of items!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="6216secondfloralembellieontag" alt="6216secondfloralembellieontag" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-os7ihYwJ_vM/UR9jd_w4usI/AAAAAAAAQl0/-U53WMUK7Jc/6216secondfloralembellieontag%25255B10%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="375">A matching layered paper flower was sponged lightly using Regal Rose Classic Ink and a wedge of stampin’ sponge. I wanted to make sure the regal rose color on the petal edges was more subtle than strong… so after inking the sponge, I sponged off onto my grid paper (scrap paper) before sponging each petal.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="7216prettypaperpunchedbutterfly" alt="7216prettypaperpunchedbutterfly" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-iquItDLnhlQ/UR9jeY9mIXI/AAAAAAAAQl8/PgRfoD1UD9k/7216prettypaperpunchedbutterfly%25255B12%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="290">There was a logo from the stamp company in the upper right corner of the inspiration piece (packaging insert) that I needed to cover up. The tiny butterfly punch and patterned paper from the More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper pack worked perfectly!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="8216appropriateribbonfortag" alt="8216appropriateribbonfortag" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-LCUb3DYiX14/UR9jfBxtr2I/AAAAAAAAQmE/aUOWmn5a3xs/8216appropriateribbonfortag%25255B27%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="357"> The color in the photo above is a bit off… sorry.. the background card stock is actually Old Olive not Gumball Green as it appears! </p> <p>Pretty 1-1/4” two-tone ribbon was slipped through the opening in the tag and tied with Early Espresso Bakers Twine for a finishing touch.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="9216dimensionabaskettagview" alt="9216dimensionabaskettagview" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-d0ou6rbRbrc/UR9jfoPyQuI/AAAAAAAAQmM/0QN-RGt7Jps/9216dimensionabaskettagview%25255B20%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="247">Most of the popped, dimensional items were attached to the Vintage Easter Tag base using stampin’ dimensionals (aka pop dots)… but the rose was a bit differently. If you’ve purchased one of the Artisan Embellishment Kits (or more, LOL) you know that the rose actually has a very long green wire stem which holds the paper rose layers together. </p> <p>So… dealing with the rose stem on your card or paper crafts projects, you can do one of several things…</p> <ol> <ol> <li>Cut the stem shorter, no wider than the rose then secure using glue dots.. </li> <li>Cut the stem off completely, and then re-assemble the paper rose using mini glue dots or Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.</li> <li>Use a paper piercing tool to pierce through layers of flowers and/or cardstock bringing the stem through the layers to bury it beneath.</li> <li>Wrap the wire tightly into a circle on the base of your flower (my preferred option) and then secure to your project using mini glue dots.</li></ol></ol> <p>I hope you enjoyed today’s rather lengthy photo journal post and tips! LOL… and it really all began with recycled and re-used packaging!! </p> <p>Thanks for stopping by, I look forward to your sweet comments!</p> <p>Hugs,</p> <p><font color="#0000ff" size="7" face="Vivaldi"><strong><em>Sharon</em></strong></font></p> <p align="center"><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><font size="3"><strong><em>Shop my online stampin’ up store</em></strong></font></a><font size="3"><strong><em> for most supplies used in today’s…</em></strong></font></p> <p align="center"><font size="3"><strong><em> Recycle & Re-Use Pretty Vintage Easter Tag!</em></strong></font></p> <div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:0767317B-992E-4b12-91E0-4F059A8CECA8:616b98eb-c269-422d-b3ce-82f4721ef4e2" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent">Technorati Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tags/recycled" rel="tag">recycled</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/paper+crafts" rel="tag">paper crafts</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/delightful+dozen" rel="tag">delightful dozen</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/summer+silhouettes" rel="tag">summer silhouettes</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/stampin'+up" rel="tag">stampin' up</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/card+stock" rel="tag">card stock</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/classic+ink" rel="tag">classic ink</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/vintage" rel="tag">vintage</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/Easter" rel="tag">Easter</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/tips+and+tricks" rel="tag">tips and tricks</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/artisan+embellishment+kit" rel="tag">artisan embellishment kit</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/my+online+stampin+up+store" rel="tag">my online stampin up store</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/tags" rel="tag">tags</a></div> <div class="blogger-post-footer">Sharon Field</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2816521109002528629.post-82052999259318080682013-02-14T03:44:00.000-05:002013-02-14T03:44:00.552-05:00Good Intentions and Reality… Recipe!<p>Happy Valentines Day!! I hope you have something wonderful planned with/for your someone special!! I know I do ;)</p> <p>With good intentions, LOL today was to be a day FULL of stamping!! BUT.. that didn’t happen! Instead, I was hijacked or kidnapped by DD to visit/view a potential new (and promising btw) property. Other plans included making home made chicken soup and visiting a local craft store… but that didn’t happen!</p> <p>So… this evening when DH arrived home the soup wasn’t made, no stamping had been done and most of all he was hungry!! It was very cold and damp outside and who wants to dine out in that weather? </p> <p>A quick and easy recipe staple was called into action… and dinner was served.. late but good! It’s one of my standard quick and easy recipes to serve dinner… with just a few ingredients and very modifiable. So.. in lieu of a stamped art project for today’s post I’m sharing a very quick and easy dinner recipe!</p> <p>Quick and Easy Light Italian Chicken / Pasta Sauté</p> <p>Ingredients:</p> <ul> <li>2 whole chicken breasts cut into 3/4” x 1/2” pieces</li> <li>1 yellow onion, diced</li> <li>1 tsp EVO Light</li> <li>1 tsp Italian Seasoning</li> <li>1/2 tsp Rosemary Herb Seasoning ( I use Pampered Chef)</li> <li>1/4 tsp ground black pepper</li> <li>1/4 tsp crushed red pepper (optional)</li> <li>1 (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes (Muir Woods Organic)</li> <li>8 oz. Angel Hair Pasta (Barilla) cooked according to package directions</li> <li>8 oz. Marinara Sauce</li> <li>1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese</li></ul> <p>Directions:</p> <ol> <li>Add EVO light to sauté pan, heat over medium heat.</li> <li>Add chicken, onions and spices, sauté until chicken is done (appx. 4-5 minutes)</li> <li>Add canned tomatoes and marinara, heat thoroughly</li> <li>Stir in parmesan cheese.</li> <li>Drain cooked pasta, add to bowl and top with chicken and tomato sauté.</li></ol> <p>Serve with fresh veggies and/or tossed salad… and if you dare to dream.. garlic bread (Alexia all natural is my favorite!!)</p> <p>Variations:</p> <ul> <li>During the last two minutes, add fresh broccoli.. yum!! </li> <li>Add 1/4 cup red wine with the tomatoes for a deep, rich flavor</li> <li>Double the red pepper for a fun spicy dish!</li> <li>Top with additional Marinara!!</li></ul> <p>Let me know if you try this quick and easy recipe and how you’ve changed it, I’d love to know!!</p> <p>See you tomorrow, I look forward to reading your comments… and sorry I didn’t have a new card project today!</p> <p>Hugs,</p> <p align="left"><font color="#0000ff" size="7" face="Vivaldi"><strong><em>Sharon</em></strong></font></p> <p align="center"><font size="3"><strong><em>Sh0p </em></strong></font><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><font size="3"><strong><em>my online stampin’ up store</em></strong></font></a><font size="3"><strong><em> for your favorite scrapbook, paper crafts and card maker supplies!</em></strong></font></p> <div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:0767317B-992E-4b12-91E0-4F059A8CECA8:9aa6df63-003b-4a74-9b7c-582bcb48b567" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent">Technorati Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tags/valentines" rel="tag">valentines</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/recipe+request" rel="tag">recipe request</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/recipes" rel="tag">recipes</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/muir+woods" rel="tag">muir woods</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/organic" rel="tag">organic</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/quick+and+easy" rel="tag">quick and easy</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/my+online+stampin+up+store" rel="tag">my online stampin up store</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/parmesan+cheese" rel="tag">parmesan cheese</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/tomatoes" rel="tag">tomatoes</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/chicken" rel="tag">chicken</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/recipe" rel="tag">recipe</a></div> <div class="blogger-post-footer">Sharon Field</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2816521109002528629.post-64980271854045578412013-02-13T03:59:00.000-05:002013-02-13T03:59:00.614-05:00It Had to be You!! CAS Valentines Card<p>Today’s Valentine card is so very quick and easy I almost didn’t post it!! Originally designed for the inside of yesterday’s hand-drawn and <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2013/02/a-couple-of-big-booms-and-mini-cooper.html" target="_blank">Copic Colored mini cooper Valentine card</a>, I decided it was a bit too feminine for the masculine card I had been contracted for. <img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1ithadtobeyoutwoheartscreatedbyucas" alt="1ithadtobeyoutwoheartscreatedbyucas" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-yzZ5SA6SGog/URrJclJK60I/AAAAAAAAQi0/4fPd6u-bGn0/1ithadtobeyoutwoheartscreatedbyucas%25255B13%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="274"> LOL… but it was pretty… so I thought maybe it would make a cool clean and simple Valentine! <img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2ithadtobeyoucasquickeasyvalentinecbyu" alt="2ithadtobeyoucasquickeasyvalentinecbyu" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-_hbswE-_b2s/URrJc3oBHoI/AAAAAAAAQi8/L_ao_bX6dcU/2ithadtobeyoucasquickeasyvalentinecbyu%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="251">I was trying to create a his and hers effect with the two hears… one polka dotted and the other embossed using the vintage wallpaper textured impressions embossing folder and big shot die-cutting machine! Additional highlighting was added to the outer edge of the embossed heart using a Signo White gel pen.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3ithadtobeyouprintworkscollectionsfield" alt="3ithadtobeyouprintworkscollectionsfield" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-XCX7scKX6Hk/URrJdY4-qGI/AAAAAAAAQjE/4fVW9NqNX5E/3ithadtobeyouprintworkscollectionsfield%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="166"> “It had to be you (heart)” was a Printworks Collection stamp I picked up the other day at a local big box store… I thought it was really a cute sentiment.</p> <p>The sentiment was punched using Stampin’ Up! word window punch, and glued to a Real Red card stock scrap that had been punched using a modern label punch.</p> <p>Today, I hope to spend most of the day stamping and doing laundry (LOL… it HAS to be done!!!) I know I’ll have a couple visitors between chores too, so it should be a really fun day! </p> <p>I hope your day is fun too! I look forward to reading your comments and thank you for stopping by my little blog!</p> <p>Hugs,</p> <p><em><strong><font color="#0000ff" size="7" face="Vivaldi">Sharon</font></strong></em></p> <p align="center"><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><em><strong><font size="3">Shop</font></strong></em></a><em><strong><font size="3"> </font></strong></em><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><em><strong><font size="3">my online stampin’ up! store</font></strong></em></a><em><strong><font size="3"> for most supplies used in today’s…</font></strong></em></p> <p align="center"><em><strong><font size="3"> It Had to Be You CAS Valentine Card!</font></strong></em></p> <div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:0767317B-992E-4b12-91E0-4F059A8CECA8:855f7c5a-c8a6-4973-a6dd-4eb6f31d395a" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent">Technorati Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tags/cas" rel="tag">cas</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/clean+and+simple" rel="tag">clean and simple</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/valentines" rel="tag">valentines</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/quick+and+easy" rel="tag">quick and easy</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/real+red+card+stock" rel="tag">real red card stock</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/mini+cooper" rel="tag">mini cooper</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/basic+gray" rel="tag">basic gray</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/printworks+collection" rel="tag">printworks collection</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/vintage+wallpaper" rel="tag">vintage wallpaper</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/big+shot+die-+cutting" rel="tag">big shot die- cutting</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/textured+impressions+embossing+folder" rel="tag">textured impressions embossing folder</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/embossing" rel="tag">embossing</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/my+online+stampin+up+store" rel="tag">my online stampin up store</a></div> <div class="blogger-post-footer">Sharon Field</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2816521109002528629.post-60016293471083101762013-02-12T17:36:00.001-05:002013-02-12T17:40:05.615-05:00A Couple of Big Booms and Mini Cooper<p>It’s been a crazy week with early hours starting at 5am, and very long days!! But tomorrow I’m staying home ALL DAY to stamp, LOL!! I need a little R&R after three days of climbing ladders, hanging banners and dressing mannequins!! </p> <p>Today’s post is just a little late… after a little bit of excitement at the Town Center early this afternoon! I smelled something burning but couldn’t figure out where it was coming from then BOOM!! And BOOM again!! A condominium under construction had giant flames coming out of the top of the structure and the thick black smoke smelled like electrical wires burning! Thankfully nobody was hurt… and a little wake up call for the tired visual team after a busy three day run!!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1handdrawnminicoopercardsharonfield" alt="1handdrawnminicoopercardsharonfield" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-u5r-5qZCoFs/URrD-oUmUdI/AAAAAAAAQgY/4yC6dzmTzmU/1handdrawnminicoopercardsharonfield%25255B15%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="286">Today’s card is a custom card which was hand drawn by consignment for a friend… her DH is a BIG Mini-Cooper fan. LOL… I looked online for mini cooper punch art and after considering creating one myself, opted to quickly sketch one out.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3handcutbannerfromminicooperantennae" alt="3handcutbannerfromminicooperantennae" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-MU6_Ij_3lCA/URrD_QIU1nI/AAAAAAAAQgg/DYXCGK_m7cA/3handcutbannerfromminicooperantennae%25255B9%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="168"> This was to be a very special Valentines Day card… so I added “Happy Valentines Day” from the Stampin’ Up! Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set.'<img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" title="2thecoopercoloredwithcopicsbysharonfield" alt="2thecoopercoloredwithcopicsbysharonfield" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-ZDAYzXLCfGo/URrD_2qmrBI/AAAAAAAAQgo/Ercpo_5os9Q/2thecoopercoloredwithcopicsbysharonfield%25255B11%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="219"> The mini cooper was colored and shaded using my Copic markers, Silver Spica Pen and a Signo White Gel Pen.<img style="margin: 5px auto 0px; display: block; float: none" title="4insideofminicoopercardmasculine" alt="4insideofminicoopercardmasculine" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-KkzNysX-Ru8/URrEAam8FqI/AAAAAAAAQgw/jNuPifNO1jk/4insideofminicoopercardmasculine%25255B15%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="260">The interior of the mini cooper valentine was cut at 5.25” x 4”, and the lower half embossed using the houndstooth textured impressions embossing folder and big shot machine. As a final touch the Stampin’ Up! single image “Love You” was stamped using real red classic ink. I think this added a very masculine appearance to the inside of the card, don’t you?</p> <p>Tomorrow I’ll be sharing just one more very quick and easy, clean and simple valentine with you… Thanks for stopping by my very, very late post today and I look forward to reading your comments!</p> <p>Hugs,</p> <p><em><strong><font color="#0000ff" size="7" face="Vivaldi">Sharon</font></strong></em></p> <p><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank">Shop my online stampin’ up store</a> </a> for most supplies used in today’s hand drawn Mini Cooper Valentine Card</p> <div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:0767317B-992E-4b12-91E0-4F059A8CECA8:3e5ef3c4-fe9f-4508-a00a-ddd144eeb750" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent">Technorati Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tags/valentines" rel="tag">valentines</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/real+red+card+stock" rel="tag">real red card stock</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/mini+cooper" rel="tag">mini cooper</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/customer" rel="tag">customer</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/hand-drawn" rel="tag">hand-drawn</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/houndstooth" rel="tag">houndstooth</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/big+shot+die-+cutting" rel="tag">big shot die- cutting</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/textured+impressions+embossing+folder" rel="tag">textured impressions embossing folder</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/copic+markers" rel="tag">copic markers</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/spica+pens" rel="tag">spica pens</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/signo+white+gel+pen" rel="tag">signo white gel pen</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/my+online+stampin+up+store" rel="tag">my online stampin up store</a></div> <div class="blogger-post-footer">Sharon Field</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2816521109002528629.post-56866887185740848912013-02-11T04:03:00.000-05:002013-02-11T04:03:00.435-05:00SAB Simply Sent Stepped Up 4 Seniors!<p>Have you checked out the free Sale-A-Bration items yet? One of them, which I order every year btw, is a really fun Simply Sent card making kit! The kit includes Basic Gray Bakers Twine, 8 pre-printed die-cut cards and envelopes, die-cut stickers and rhinestone basic jewels.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="6simplysentcardkitonstripeddspcbyu213" alt="6simplysentcardkitonstripeddspcbyu213" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-FX5dF2pOneE/URetBA3CvOI/AAAAAAAAQdc/9M0oWLDVhfg/6simplysentcardkitonstripeddspcbyu213%25255B12%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="337"> Four of the cards are pre-printed with Hello! on the front… the other four are blank. I wanted to step the kit up a bit for my senior stamping session last week, so added layers of whisper white an basic gray card stock just for fun!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1preprintedcardoptionsimplysentcreatedbyu" alt="1preprintedcardoptionsimplysentcreatedbyu" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-GP1Hjrn_WzE/URetBlgqIoI/AAAAAAAAQdk/aE-x8F4dJSo/1preprintedcardoptionsimplysentcreatedbyu%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="281">I also added half of a paper doily to give the card a little more pizzazz! Some of the seniors made the pre-printed version… and others had to add a sentiment to their otherwise blank card.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="4alternatesabcardkitwithsentimentpunched" alt="4alternatesabcardkitwithsentimentpunched" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-aG_t4Ze-VHY/URetB1eChbI/AAAAAAAAQds/f9gdt36x0Yc/4alternatesabcardkitwithsentimentpunched%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="265">It’s not always easy to center a sentiment exactly where you want it… so for my seniors I used a daffodil delight postage stamped mount for a whisper white 1” punched sentiment using basic gray classic ink.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="6sabsimplysentwithpostagestampedgreeting" alt="6sabsimplysentwithpostagestampedgreeting" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-qyNaGQxkqfQ/URetCWqLZeI/AAAAAAAAQd0/VrnLLFXAzis/6sabsimplysentwithpostagestampedgreeting%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="261"> Tiny dots of liquid adhesive were used to attach the doily… and a stampin’ dimensional (pop dot) was used to affix the stamped, punched and layered sentiment to the blank pre-printed card bases.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3sabcardkitfloweranddoilycreatedbyu" alt="3sabcardkitfloweranddoilycreatedbyu" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ksbuC3a9u70/URetDeQ6y6I/AAAAAAAAQd8/KhzdSiGmUGo/3sabcardkitfloweranddoilycreatedbyu%25255B11%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="328"> Both cards also featured a die-cut layered flower, paper ribbon and rhinestone basic jewel.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="5asimplysentpeabodyducksinsidewithflower" alt="5asimplysentpeabodyducksinsidewithflower" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-6E2F8ZaNyO4/URetDqlSawI/AAAAAAAAQeE/welhOk6cdeE/5asimplysentpeabodyducksinsidewithflower%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="195">Waste not, want not… I also shared with how to recycle the sticker remnants to use on the inside of their cards…<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="5bsimplysentwithleftoverstickersborderinside" alt="5bsimplysentwithleftoverstickersborderinside" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-IPPS_saT5W4/URetEM58KAI/AAAAAAAAQeM/pmUPnLh9b7U/5bsimplysentwithleftoverstickersborderinside%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="217">We added a 5.5” x 4.25” piece of basic gray and a 5.25” x 4” piece of whisper white card stock to the inside/back of each card. My reasons were two fold… this way they had two opportunities to get their inside images stamped correctly… as they could turn over the whisper white card stock and use the back side if it didn’t work the first time.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="7exteriorsabsimplysentviewoncreatedbyu" alt="7exteriorsabsimplysentviewoncreatedbyu" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-Ghu5zwTycp8/URetEvD0VOI/AAAAAAAAQeU/qOO6PcaKijo/7exteriorsabsimplysentviewoncreatedbyu%25255B9%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="235"> As an added bonus, the back side of the card was quite pretty too… don’t you think?</p> <p>I hope you enjoyed today’s simply sent “Happy Hello” card kit samples for my senior stamping sessions! Last week, with Valentines Day just around the corner we made this quick and easy valentine featuring two stamp sets, real red card, very vanilla and crumb cake card stock from Stampin’ Up!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1reallyquickandeasyvalentineforseniorscbyu" alt="1reallyquickandeasyvalentineforseniorscbyu" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-3SoGZOry8bs/URelf7H6a6I/AAAAAAAAQbA/fbdptFJdWdA/1reallyquickandeasyvalentineforseniorscbyu%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="261"> </p> <p>Stampin’ Up! stamp sets used on this card were the swirl image from the Everything Eleanor stamp set, and single image “Love You”. Both images were stamped using Real Red classic ink from Stampin’ Up! I love the ink coverage attained using the new firm foam pads, don’t you?<img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="2everythingeleanorvalentinestampedcbyu" border="0" alt="2everythingeleanorvalentinestampedcbyu" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ODF2-gtOBpg/URelgciW8nI/AAAAAAAAQbI/ddWZZu7EIEY/2everythingeleanorvalentinestampedcbyu%25255B11%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="522"> </p> <p>In addition to the card stock, a small heart and large heart punch were used along along with stampin’ dimensionals aka “pop dots”.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3loveyoustampedinrealredcreatedbyufeb13" alt="3loveyoustampedinrealredcreatedbyufeb13" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-w4VsfjRYqZU/URelgn88xhI/AAAAAAAAQbQ/o94y5Vrp3RM/3loveyoustampedinrealredcreatedbyufeb13%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="198"> </p> <p>A teeny tiny pearl basic jewel accent was added to the center of the tiny punched real red heart just for fun.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="4twoheartsandnewsprintdspreaditlolcbyu" alt="4twoheartsandnewsprintdspreaditlolcbyu" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-lrgK__Du138/URelhNJLz4I/AAAAAAAAQbY/-M8iXPT499k/4twoheartsandnewsprintdspreaditlolcbyu%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="262"> </p> <p>I’m going to have to make sure whomever I send THIS card to has a sense of humor… LOL I wasn’t paying too much attention to the script from Newsprint Designer Series Paper when I punched the heart. It’s talking about flowers, but I think fungi and lichens are probably not the message I want to send to a loved one!! Luckily the Newsprint designer series papers are two sided and plentiful… I can just stamp another heart to ‘fix’ my quick and easy, clean and simple Valentine!!</p> <p>Hope you enjoyed today’s card share… I recently read some information from a prominent stampin’ up demonstrator who stated that people don’t visit blogs on the weekend… Is that true? Am I wasting my time sharing on the weekend? Leave me a comment or <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/p/contact-me.html" target="_blank">contact me</a> to tell me how you feel about weekend posts!</p> <p>I look forward to reading your comments and appreciate your orders big or small! Several First Wednesday Card Club ladies wanted to know how in the world I got all the spots inside the leaves too, LOL…<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2madisonavenuebrayerdetailspeckledfun" alt="2madisonavenuebrayerdetailspeckledfun" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Sjxq-xL8tSU/URZ-9WP7yhI/AAAAAAAAQYc/SvtMT4xbUC8/2madisonavenuebrayerdetailspeckledfun%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="400"> </p> <p>It was kind of fun… the extra gumball green color and ink along the edges was another bonus… I liked the effect so added extra color with a stampin’ sponge wedge too.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3madisonavenuepatternedoccasionscbyu3" alt="3madisonavenuepatternedoccasionscbyu3" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-5XmVNkzCtsE/URZ-9-gaw7I/AAAAAAAAQYk/QewrXDw0qc4/3madisonavenuepatternedoccasionscbyu3%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="252"> The adorable little band-aid and sentiment from the Patterned Occasions stamp set was stamped in the lower right corner of whisper white card stock. Patterned Occasions is another sale-a-bration stamp set too!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="5madisonavenuecardtwoembossednbrayer" alt="5madisonavenuecardtwoembossednbrayer" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-A26-2LwqqCQ/URZ--mte5wI/AAAAAAAAQYs/4ScKE7zWFPU/5madisonavenuecardtwoembossednbrayer%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="459"> </p> <p>I really wanted a clean and crisp image… even though I liked the dotty effect on the last card… so this time I simply embossed the whisper white card stock and then used my brayer to add color and sponge to accent and hi-light the edges. LOL… got to love that gumball green ink, don’t you? Isn’t it amazing what you can do with simple whisper white card stock, an ink pad and a few tools?<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="6madisonavebrayeredafterembossingcbyu" alt="6madisonavebrayeredafterembossingcbyu" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-SGdGOJa88NA/URZ-_NbSH6I/AAAAAAAAQY0/WoK_zkQwhPo/6madisonavebrayeredafterembossingcbyu%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="396"> </p> <p>Much, much crisper… and the contrast is perfect for the whisper white card base too. Others… well, just like By The Tide, aren’t too memorable.</p> <p>One sale-a-bration freebie set was also used on today’s card share… “Vintage Verses” for the “Thanks” image.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3bythetidecoralandshellwords" alt="3bythetidecoralandshellwords" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-9F_AZw9u_0U/URTFcGrqUdI/AAAAAAAAQUE/2Kty3DyyOxQ/3bythetidecoralandshellwords%25255B10%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="222"> This was a quick and easy card to make… consisting of three pieces of card stock and a ribbon knot tied on my fingers! The card stock and measurements are as follows:</p> <ul> <li>Pool Party (card base) 8.5” x 5.5” scored at 4.25” <li>Calypso Coral (layer) 3-7/8” x 5-1/8” <li>Whisper White (front) 3.75” x 5”</li></ul> <p>Three ink pads were used along with a piece of stampin’ sponge wedge, big shot die-cutting machine and a textured impressions embossing folder:</p> <ul> <li>Bashful Blue Ink (stamp the script image <li>Island Indigo Ink (stamp the shell and “Thanks”) <li>Calypso Coral Ink (suitably enough, the coral!!) <li>Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder</li></ul> <p>It’s really important to stamp the images before embossing with the big shot die-cutting machine… your images won’t be too clear otherwise! So… once they are stamped, go ahead and run the whisper white card stock layer through the big shot machine!</p> <p>Then… we used a piece of stampin’ sponge wedge to lightly thump along the outer edges and along the surface of the card (lightly) using the island indigo ink.</p> <p>Attaching the knotted ribbon is easy when you use mini glue dots… one at each end of the ribbon and one behind the knot. Position and affix the knot first onto the card stock and then wrap around the sandwiched card stock layers!</p> <p>Well.. got to run. I look forward to reading your comments and hope you’ll stop back by tomorrow!</p> <p>Hugs,</p> <p><font color="#0000ff" size="7" face="Vivaldi"><strong><em>Sharon</em></strong></font></p> <p align="center"><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><font size="3"><strong><em>Shop my online stampin’ up store</em></strong></font></a><font size="3"><strong><em> for supplies used in today’s…</em></strong></font></p> <p align="center"><font size="3"><strong><em><u>Something About this Stamp Set’s Name: By The Tide</u></em></strong></font></p> <div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:0767317B-992E-4b12-91E0-4F059A8CECA8:0a7258c0-c579-4386-b942-0c9a04b03a3c" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent">Technorati Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tags/by+the+tide" rel="tag">by the tide</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/big+shot+die-+cutting" rel="tag">big shot die- cutting</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/textured+impressions+embossing+folder" rel="tag">textured impressions embossing folder</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/houndstooth" rel="tag">houndstooth</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/calypso+coral" rel="tag">calypso coral</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/pool+party" rel="tag">pool party</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/whisper+white" rel="tag">whisper white</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/ink" rel="tag">ink</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/card+stock" rel="tag">card stock</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/my+online+stampin+up+store" rel="tag">my online stampin up store</a></div> <div class="blogger-post-footer">Sharon Field</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2816521109002528629.post-13129537699211966222013-02-06T21:17:00.001-05:002013-02-06T21:17:35.419-05:00So… did you get the message? Late Post!!<p>Today was the First Wednesday Card Club Meeting… and we had a few absentee members who missed out on a really fabulous buffet and lunch!! Sorry guys!! I can cut the card stock but I can’t save the leftovers!! Judging from the recipe requests, the menu was a keeper!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="doilyandbutterflythinkingofyouredo" alt="doilyandbutterflythinkingofyouredo" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-JKiQtZ8CH6I/URMOuTXWQ0I/AAAAAAAAQPE/W7QXb7OPj3Q/doilyandbutterflythinkingofyouredo%25255B9%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="457"> Today’s card share is a re-make of one I did a week or so ago… but I made just a little tiny change. If you follow my blog regularly, you may recognize the change… a simple addition, a paper doily!! Oh, what a difference it made!! <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2013/01/color-inspiration-yellow-gray-hsssc151.html" target="_blank">The original card was posted for HSSSC151 here</a> if you didn’t see it.. just a subtle difference.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2doilyandbflyredobotttlecapaccent" alt="2doilyandbflyredobotttlecapaccent" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ceuNL_4BvIg/URMOu2tuN1I/AAAAAAAAQPM/vHD58SCiFHA/2doilyandbflyredobotttlecapaccent%25255B19%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="235">The cute little bottle cap was flattened using my big shot die-cut machine and then I added a 1” circle punch of basic gray card stock and 7/8” scallop circle Designer Series Paper punched element.<img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" title="3whatadifferncealittletextureprovides" alt="3whatadifferncealittletextureprovides" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-6W4zrPbgC8E/URMOvEw3QqI/AAAAAAAAQPU/4Glh-UCFNo4/3whatadifferncealittletextureprovides%25255B10%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="353"></p> <p>So… this is sale-a-bration time and with each $50 merchandise order you get to choose a free item, pretty cool! <img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="4ireallylikethisbflypunchdontu" alt="4ireallylikethisbflypunchdontu" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-KlAWPm1zm1g/URMOvqldPsI/AAAAAAAAQPc/YWZqufab9C0/4ireallylikethisbflypunchdontu%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="239">And I think my favorite part of today’s card share is the pretty punched bitty butterfly with pearls basic jewels… what a fun, quick and easy way to add a little accent to a card!</p> <p>Sorry for today’s late post… life gets in the way sometimes doesn’t it? LOL… I look forward to reading your comments and hope you’ll stop back by tomorrow!!</p> <p>Hugs, </p> <p><font color="#0000ff" size="7" face="Vivaldi"><strong><em>Sharon</em></strong></font></p> <p align="center"><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><font size="3"><strong><em>Shop</em></strong></font></a><font size="3"><strong><em> </em></strong></font><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><font size="3"><strong><em>my online stampin’ up! store</em></strong></font></a><font size="3"><strong><em> for supplies used in today’s…</em></strong></font></p> <p align="center"><font size="3"><strong><em>Did you get the message? The stamp set found on page 19 of the current Mini Catalog just kept calling my name, LOL! Living in Florida, it’s just one of those shore things you can’t ignore!</p> <p>Today’s first card feature yesterday’s <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2013/02/water-dribbles-super-saturday-tutorial.html" target="_blank">Water Dribbles Technique</a> and the By the Tide stamp set. Both card designs are very quick and easy… hope you like them!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1cbyuwaterdribbleseahorsecard020313" alt="1cbyuwaterdribbleseahorsecard020313" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-TiMyut4STSg/UQxZtZM8qkI/AAAAAAAAQH0/_raNvY5VPyk/1cbyuwaterdribbleseahorsecard0203131.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="279">Have you played around with the water dribbles technique yet? I’m thinking it would make a fabulous grunge background… or masculine background for a Fathers’ Day card… hmmm.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2seahorsewaterdribbletechbkgdcbyu020313" alt="2seahorsewaterdribbletechbkgdcbyu020313" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-EbT9LnOSkH4/UQxZt7rubeI/AAAAAAAAQH8/5j4nvVOb1nc/2seahorsewaterdribbletechbkgdcbyu020%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="262">Script from by the tide was stamped in Night of Navy onto the prepared water dribbled background.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3seahorsewaterdribble020313techcbyu2_3" alt="3seahorsewaterdribble020313techcbyu2_3" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-to4ReD5EtWk/UQxZuhbjq5I/AAAAAAAAQIE/cc0_PzXwshk/3seahorsewaterdribble020313techcbyu2.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="506"> The nautical anchor from the Nantucket Oceanside Inn was stamped directly onto the card surface and then onto a scrap of card stock before punching using a 3/4” circle punch. The last layer is actually a scrap of very vanilla card stock which was sponged with night of navy ink after punching with a 1” circle punch.</p> <p><em><u><strong>Today’s tips for paper crafters…</strong></u></em></p> <blockquote> <p>The ribbon was attached DTP (direct to paper or card stock) with SNAIL adhesive. <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2010/01/few-tips-for-you.html" target="_blank">Remember that ribbon tip (and others)</a> I shared back in January 2010? Today’s tutorial features a new variation on the <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2010/06/try-new-technique-acrylic-block.html" target="_blank">acrylic block stamping technique</a> which was originally introduced back in June, 2010 at <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com" target="_blank">Created By You</a>.</p> <p>Today’s Water Dribbles Technique is very much the same, using acrylic blocks, card stock and Stampin’ Up! ink pads… plus one extra element… tap water! I’m not sure why I even thought to do this water dribble technique, LOL… but it happened! A completed card featuring the water dribbles acrylic stamping technique will be posted at the end of this clean and simple, quick technique tutorial!</p> <p>Step by Step Tutorial: </p> <p align="center">Water Dribbles <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2010/06/try-new-technique-acrylic-block.html" target="_blank">Acrylic Block Stamping Technique</a></p> <ol> <li>Cut a piece of lightly colored card stock. I chose a 4.25” x 5.5” piece of very vanilla card stock for today’s technique.</li> <li>Wet your finger tips underneath the kitchen faucet and shake off most of the excess water before shaking the water over your card stock.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1waterdribbletechniqonvvcs02213cbyu" alt="1waterdribbletechniqonvvcs02213cbyu" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-VkVMpC-MYh8/UQxQGuqsXHI/AAAAAAAAQFM/3OP17-tSTYw/1waterdribbletechniqonvvcs02213cbyu%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="268">If large water bubbles remain on your card stock, lightly blot with a napkin, tissue or paper towel… not to dry but to remove the bubble of water.</li> <li>Ink up your acrylic block and stamp immediately onto the damp card stock.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2ABASHFULbluewaterdribbletechcbyu02213" alt="2ABASHFULbluewaterdribbletechcbyu02213" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-GJHo6Ra6USg/UQxQHN_AkbI/AAAAAAAAQFU/48ZVAqL5NQU/2ABASHFULbluewaterdribbletechcbyu02213%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="306">Random patterns are ok… in the sample shown above, I stamped with bashful blue classic ink… It was a bit too lighter than I’d preferred, so I repeated steps 1 through 3 and stamped again with pacific point ink, which produced a much bolder pattern and design.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2PACIFICPOINTwaterdribbletechbyu2213" alt="2PACIFICPOINTwaterdribbletechbyu2213" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-N_cdvanzD00/UQxQIkxIFFI/AAAAAAAAQFc/TNkej997_WU/2PACIFICPOINTwaterdribbletechbyu2213%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="268">Hmm… one more try, this time with rich razzleberry ink!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3richrazzleberrywatterdribbletechcbyu022132" alt="3richrazzleberrywatterdribbletechcbyu022132" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-3ArzdRLmhrw/UQxQJAWEh6I/AAAAAAAAQFk/VTfqFnRpdCY/3richrazzleberrywatterdribbletechcbyu022132%25255B12%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="296">Bingo… this is the one I liked the best… why? Who knows!! But look at the fun card I made using this last bit of water dribbles technique for a background!<img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" title="4richrazzleberrywaterdribbleumbrellagirlcard" alt="4richrazzleberrywaterdribbleumbrellagirlcard" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-aoSFx5-jxzE/UQxQJbtCIcI/AAAAAAAAQFs/mjzIISBlSuw/4richrazzleberrywaterdribbleumbrellagirlcard%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="418">The stamped water dribble panels were fussy cut around protruding dribbles and attached to a 3.75” x 5” very vanilla card base and then layered onto a 4” x 5.25” piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock before attaching to the A-2 Card base.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="5richrazzleberryumbrellasilhouettecardcdetail" alt="5richrazzleberryumbrellasilhouettecardcdetail" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-QYky9mhmE8A/UQxQJxl9B2I/AAAAAAAAQF0/NNEYeTTsO_8/5richrazzleberryumbrellasilhouettecardcdetail%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="262">The silhouette image from the Million-Dollar Moments stamp set was stamped onto a scrap of very vanilla card stock and fussy cut before mounting to the prepared card. I guess it’s time to ink my rich razzleberry ink pad, LOL… I thought about re-doing the image but I liked the graininess against the water dribbles background.</li></ol> <p>I used the tiniest ticket from the ticket duo punch to isolate “hello” and popped it onto the card using a small strip from the outer border of a stampin’ dimensional sheet to finish off the card.</p> <p>I hope you enjoyed today’s water dribble technique tutorial… it’s really a quick and easy technique using items you probably already have at home!</p> <p>Tomorrow I’ll share two new cards featuring a new to me stamp set “By The Tide”. I hope you’ll stop back by to say hi and look forward to reading your comments!</p> <p>Hugs, </p> <p><font color="#0000ff" size="7" face="Vivaldi"><strong><em>Sharon</em></strong></font></p> <p align="center"><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><a href="http://stampinup.net/esuite/home/createdbyu" target="_blank"><font size="3"><strong><em>Shop my online stampin’ up store</em></strong></font></a><font size="3"><strong><em> </em></strong></font></a><font size="3"><strong><em> for supplies used in today’s…</em></strong></font></p> <p align="center"><font size="3"><strong><em><u>Water Dribbles Technique </u></em></strong></font><a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/p/tutorials.html" target="_blank"><font size="3"><strong><em><u>Super Saturday Tutorial</u></em></strong></font></a><font size="3"><strong><em><u> and </u></em></strong></font></p> <p align="center"><font size="3"><strong><em><u>Million-Dollar Moments Card Share</u></em></strong></font></p> <div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:0767317B-992E-4b12-91E0-4F059A8CECA8:b7d471a2-3e9c-407f-8320-dc567ef99808" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent">Technorati Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tags/water+dribbles" rel="tag">water dribbles</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/technique" rel="tag">technique</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/tutorials" rel="tag">tutorials</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/super+saturday+tutorial" rel="tag">super saturday tutorial</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/acrylic+block+stamping" rel="tag">acrylic block stamping</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/bashful+blue" rel="tag">bashful blue</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/pacific+point" rel="tag">pacific point</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/rich+razzleberry" rel="tag">rich razzleberry</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/million-dollar+moments" rel="tag">million-dollar moments</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/hostess+set" rel="tag">hostess set</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/fussy+cutting" rel="tag">fussy cutting</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/my+online+stampin+up+store" rel="tag">my online stampin up store</a></div> <div class="blogger-post-footer">Sharon Field</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2816521109002528629.post-90566581882244261762013-02-01T04:07:00.000-05:002013-02-01T04:07:00.330-05:00Beyond Plaid Heart Punched CAS Valentine<p>Today’s CAS Valentine Card features my favorite pattern from the Beyond Plaid Stamp Set. The other three patterned stamps are great, especially for masculine cards… but this one IMO is simply wonderful!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="1casvalentine5minutecardwithbeyondplaid" alt="1casvalentine5minutecardwithbeyondplaid" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-HJ7bg2qE9fc/UQpewX8iQSI/AAAAAAAAQC0/nfmZwfkSCEE/1casvalentine5minutecardwithbeyondplaid%25255B13%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="287"> I’ve paired the Beyond Plaid stamp set with a sentiment from the Delightful Dozen stamp set and a bit of vine street embossed primrose petals card stock.<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="2beyondplaidheartpunchedandpoppedcbyu" alt="2beyondplaidheartpunchedandpoppedcbyu" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-7sTCY9JgZBY/UQpexQNVpAI/AAAAAAAAQC8/2qdN7J4lo9o/2beyondplaidheartpunchedandpoppedcbyu%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="372">After stamping the woven ribbon patterned image from beyond plaid, it was punched using a large heart punch. Isn’t this fun? I love all the implied texture from the ribbon patterns don’t you? </p> <p>LOL… wouldn’t it be fun to use the <a href="http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/rock_n_roll/" target="_blank">rock ‘n roll technique</a> or color directly on the stamp with markers to produce a pretty multicolored ribbon heart?<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="3casvalentinedelightfuldozenandrhinestone" alt="3casvalentinedelightfuldozenandrhinestone" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-q0Z8wBphgvY/UQpeyGqVG1I/AAAAAAAAQDE/8dZPVFm-8To/3casvalentinedelightfuldozenandrhinestone%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="262">“Be my Valentine” is a nicely scripted greeting from the Delightful Dozen stamp set. I’ve added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel (medium sized) to the center of the stamped heart. It appears gold in the photo… but it really is a pretty clear rhinestone!<img style="margin: 5px auto; display: block; float: none" title="4profilecasvalentinecreatedbyjan2013slf" alt="4profilecasvalentinecreatedbyjan2013slf" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-_z5BNVPH6Ik/UQpeyvOURaI/AAAAAAAAQDM/TAwtjk82XaY/4profilecasvalentinecreatedbyjan2013slf%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="350" height="300">Very USPS friendly, today’s card would easily slip into a standard A-2 envelope and require no additional postage. The only dimension on today’s CAS Valentine is provided by the vine embossed card stock, popped/stamped heart punched motif and rhinestone.</p> <p>I’ve been experimenting a bit with ink techniques… and just may have come up with something new for tomorrow’s <a href="http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/p/tutorials.html" target="_blank">Super Saturday Tutorial</a> post.
