Migraine

There are many types of migraines and those who have suffered from them know the horrible pain and disruption that migraines can cause.

Recently I was diagnosed with silent migraine. Since my brain surgery in 2007, I have had periods where an aura would appear, lasting for approximately 5 minutes to 1/2 hour. My vision would be affected and I would often be unable to read. It is difficult to pin down the trigger for this condition and it is very weird, because unlike other types of migraine there is no pain involved, except for a sick feeling afterwards. Now, I have heard of other types of migraine.

Where a migraine takes place, whether a Dallas migraine, or one in another part of the country really can make a difference in the type of treatment available. Regardless, all should be take seriously

You take the off exit and roll into town, memory makers in tow. Once there, you begin clicking and sending these photos off to the a variety of social networking sites, notably Facebook, where all your friends, and family will see what you are up to, while you were trying to get lost for just one day.

The Horses

Recently, I met a fellow who just loved horses and wanted to help me learn to ride as well. I was interested in knowing how he had gotten so excited about horses and horseback riding and he said it had to do with his daughter.
Apparently, at some point in her young life, she had become enamored with horses and wanted to ride, so DAD decided to get her some lessons. Before they knew it, they had bought their first horse. He went on to tell about how she had become more involved and so had he, and how they had joined groups and riding associations.

He told me about buying riding boots and saddles, and how to groom a horse.

Then I asked a question -how many horses do you have now? When he said seventeen, I almost fell off my chair, but I had to give him credit- he really went all in!

When I was a teenager one of the most fun cartoons to watch was The Jetsons. With their robot maid, and their flying cars, it was a glimpse of what some thought the future would bring. Of course, even then people were talking about phones that would show your face and would bring a person across the country into your living room.

In a world where video conferencing has become just another part of the scenery of today's business world, it is almost hard to imagine that all of this has happened in such a short time span. But, it has, because of the ingenuity and curiosity of innovative and energetic individuals who want to see how far they can push the envelope.

Well, the future is now, and we are all in each other's living rooms.

Walk in the Park

One of the most enjoyable parks in Fort Wayne, Indiana is Foster Park. In springtime it is loaded with flowers, people playing tennis and golf , strolling through their trails that prohibit cars and motorized vehicles, and having playdates with their kids at a fully loaded playground.

However, one of the treasures of Foster Park is their garden where they have a flowing stream and someone thought that it would be a great idea to buy gazebo parts and give us this great place to sit, dream, sleep, and just take a well-deserved break. Some people even get married there or re do their vows. It's a nice place to sit and chat with a grandchild, a friend or a parent.

It is a wonderful part of our community.

Coffee, Anyone?

Who could ever do without their morning cup of coffee? I could not. Even the day after I underwent a 6 hour long brain surgery, I still begged for some good strong coffee! It is a part of my life, and has been since the time my grandmother put a little bit of the black elixir in my milk as a small child.

The mechanisms we use to make coffee might contain bunn parts and that could only be a good thing. We need good products to make good coffee.

But, we also need fresh coffee beans, ground or not to begin with, and clear, fresh water. It is up to us -coffee is the best part of every morning for me.

There are about 5 days left till Valentine's Day and I am certain that people are scrambling to find just the right gift for their special love.

Some may look for 3 stone engagement rings or some other very expensive piece of jewelry to commemorate this special day. Others may just buy candy or roses, carnations or candy hearts.

Little kids will give out penny valentines to all their friends, boys and girls, and even a nice apple for a teacher.

Most of us buy tools just when we need them. We don't have a whole set of tools for every type of repair necessary in our homes, on our cars, or in the yard. But, that is now. In the olden days, people would collect a special set of tools for those areas of life that were important to them and a garage was a great place to put them.

Today, it seems that people are way too busy crushing their thumbs on their IPHONES or IPADS to gave time to do much with tools.

Finding the right welding equipment that could help you construct specific types of artwork or garden tools would have been easier in the old days. But, technology does help a little. Now, you just let your fingers do the walking-literally!

Step Into the Beauty of the Natural World

As a child I was lucky enough to spend most summers on the lake so Northern Indiana. There, we would go swimming, boat, fish ( not my favorite thing, but oh well) frog, and see all kind of critters. We would also climb an area sandhill, and walk the paths that many had walked before us. My winters and falls were spent in the city, but really the house where my family grew up was in a rural part of the Midwest and there were woods that were on each side of the neighborhood that we lived in. Again, giving all of the kids in the neighborhood the chance to explore the natural wonders of the earth, and skip school in the woods on occasion.

There are lots of reasons why people would need to enlist in heroin detox rehab treatment centers but getting to know the natural world and enjoying life in the present should become a great motivator to do so.
