(Jan. 9, 2009) – Volvo Cars of North America, LLC, today announced that it’s upcoming entry in the small premium utility segment, the XC60, will be a 2010 model year. Set to arrive in Volvo retailers in March, the 2010 XC60 will be offered as a single well-equipped T6 AWD model featuring 281 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive with Instant Traction. Final pricing is expected to be announced late January with a base MSRP of less than $40,000.

Continuing Volvo’s quest as a pioneer and leader in vehicle safety systems, the XC60 introduces a new world’s first as standard equipment. City Safety is a driver support system aimed at preventing or mitigating collisions occurring at speeds of 19 mph or less. It utilizes a closing velocity sensor to help determine whether a collision is likely. Depending on the closing speed, City Safety will either pre-charge the brakes or automatically brake the XC60 to help avoid a rear-end collision or lessen its impact.

The 2010 XC60 also announces Volvo dynamic new design language. From every angle, the XC60’s dramatic style takes Volvo design DNA to the next level by artfully blending muscular lower body cues capped off by a sporty coupe-like greenhouse. The XC60 features a charismatic strong shoulder line while adding more expressive design elements front and rear.

The XC60 is Volvo’s first all-new carline to offer HD Radio as standard equipment updating radio to digital quality. FM broadcast quality improves to the level of a typical CD while AM broadcast quality is improved to the prior level of FM. The XC60’s standard high performance sound system includes AUX and USB inputs to allow connection and control of personal music devices such as iPodsTM, memory sticks and other media players.
Source Volvo Cars USA

2011 Porsche Cayenne

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 288px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF_qLn0g8Ggrss4Q4mWghH-QSHGZgWG7QurZhjrQU1NREg7eLAsYJLrA3AAY-cVqS5d1EWOa2uzK4aqBbm5FZgueMUzpz7WkIDCMrEBWJjib2FX8g0Qlms1IedoniHxUhkDm-8AE-hd3o/s400/Porsche-Cayenne-2011-fq-688x495.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5442521139655792274" />

Following leaked images onto the internet the all-new 2011 Porsche Cayenne has now been officially revealed ahead of its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

The second-generation Porsche SUV is set to go on sale in Europe from May and will offer more room, improved technology, and increased performance but most notably significantly less weight and fuel consumption.

Every model in the Cayenne range from the entry-level V-6 to the top-spec Turbo will have improved performance while using less fuel and producing fewer emissions than the previous generation.

The big news is undoubtedly the Cayenne S Hybrid, which features an advanced parallel hybrid drive system that combines a supercharged 333 horsepower 3.0-litre gasoline V-6 engine with a 47 horsepower electric motor running on lithium-ion batteries. The combined result is a V-8 like 380 horsepower and 427 pound-feet of torque, which is available from a low-down at 1,000 rpm. With correct driving conditions, either the supercharged V-6 or electric motor can operate independently or together. This means that the Cayenne S Hybrid can cover short distances running solely on electric power alone, up to speeds of 70kph.

In terms of the gasoline-only Cayennes, Porsche are claiming that on average they are 23% more fuel-efficient than the current Cayenne range, although no official fuel economy figures have been released yet.

When it comes to power the figures are tidy, the base Cayenne with a 3.6-litre V-6 engine will get 300 horsepower, while the Cayenne S gets 400 horsepower from its 4.8-litre V-8 unit. The king-pin Cayenne Turbo stays with a twin-turbocharged 4.8-litre V-8 engine and 500 horsepower.

All Cayennes will be offered with an eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission as standard. A low-speed transfer case has been dropped, making the new Cayenne even more of an on-road vehicle than the outgoing model. A stop-start system and thermal management of the engine and transmission are also set to help improve fuel economy.

While there isn’t a massive power increase for the new Cayenne it does weigh on average 180kg less than its predecessor. The weight saving has come from a new construction processes the increased use of aluminum and the removal of the two-speed transfer case.

In terms of size, the Cayenne is grown slightly in length and wheelbase.

Sales of the Cayenne in New Zealand begin on July 24. Initial models to go on sale will be the Cayenne S, S Hybrid and Turbo. These will be joined later by the V6 Diesel and V6 Petrol models.

New Zealand specification and pricing is still yet to be confirmed and will be announced nearer to the arrival date.

2010 Ford Flex with EcoBoost

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw4Q-o1BxSwkWazchR3uzPTlTQEN1ReX710JhrnoWlZ1yiwYzTRBvcqo-TxXoNH3jFmBDEVLJ5ZZRaSL_AXCNjiF_gfy1OE56QS_C-gdOYDU5NmAABbJ-YdQxtcmI_X1Ry5I2eeEVtAdc/s400/222.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5425054746004055586" />

"With the 2010 model year, Ford is marking the start of its EcoBoost initiative, a plan that will dramatically effect the company's entire lineup in the coming years. By using turbocharging and direct injection with smaller-displacement engines, Ford says it can offer better performance and fuel economy. The company expects it will put 1.3 million EcoBoost engines on the road by 2013 and offer the technology in 90 percent of its models.

The Flex crossover is one of the first Fords to get EcoBoost. Using a 3.5-liter V-6, the Flex achieves V-8 performance with V-6 fuel economy. The Flex EcoBoost (which is only available with all-wheel drive) achieves the same fuel economy as the base all-wheel-drive Flex, which is rated at 16/22 mpg.

Powertrain
The technology in Ford's EcoBoost engines isn't revolutionary, but the company's plan for such widespread adoption is unique. In the 3.5-liter V-6, two turbochargers spin as fast as 170,000 rpm to force more air into the engine while fuel injectors spray gasoline into the cylinders at 2175 psi. Adding more air and fuel allows extra power to be squeezed out of each combustion event.

There are plenty of automakers that might detune a performance engine by 10 to 20 hp in the family crossover, but the Flex receives the same 355 hp that will move the Ford Taurus SHO, the Lincoln MKS, and the Lincoln MKT. Ford has decided that its first EcoBoost engine needs to place more emphasis on performance than fuel economy in order to build a positive impression of the technology. Future Ford engines using turbochargers and direct injection may focus more on the fuel economy side of the equation. Torque is rated at 350 lb-ft and spans from 1500 to 5250 rpm. It's that plateau-flat torque curve that creates an exciting and effective blast when the throttle is planted. Ford estimates 0-to-60-mph acceleration occurs in about 7 seconds.

EcoBoost Flexes all receive a manual-shift mode for the six-speed automatic transmission, along with steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles. The paddles are a great addition for the performance engine but could use some refinement. When the gear selector is left in drive, the paddles can't be used to effect a downshift. In manual mode, the transmission is happy to provide downshifts at a fairly quick pace but sometimes isn't restrictive enough (yes, we just said that). Multiple times, we asked for one too many downshifts, and the Flex obliged by dropping down a gear - right on top of redline. To top it off, the coarse, dull finish on the plastic paddle shifters looks out of place compared with the rest of the well-trimmed cabin."

2010 Audi A5 Sportback

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu_mnzQ5xjcR13uEf851luHblDX0y7MhaATAC2J2GAP3cuQDut8aNZ6eISDxZnu_xKnPdj2_YquJN5NV1KMSb4qf4XLi2z4evlixfUS606CJmkG-bxYFqv-b_QcklKqED9J2W9xKZWiE0/s400/0907_03_z+2010_audi_a5_sportback+side_view.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5425053609933657330" />

"Do you lust after an Audi A5, but need something with some extra doors and space to handle the family? Good news: Audi has just the car for you.

Well, not quite. Such a car--the 2010 Audi A5 Sportback shown here--is indeed destined for production, but not the New World. Audi says the shapely fastback doesn't mesh well with its U.S. market plans, and as such, the car will essentially be forbidden fruit for the time being.

Although it looks quite similar to the new BMW 5-series Gran Turismo, the A5 Sportback is considerably smaller. At 15.45 feet long, the A5 is a foot shorter than the Bimmer, and is closer in size to an A4.

Those accustomed to riding in the back of an A4 will complain the rear seat is slightly smaller (it's been pulled forward in light of the rakish roof), but luggage space isn't compromised one iota. The Sportback offers 16.9 cubic feet of cargo space, but that number expands to 34.6 cubic feet--nearly two-thirds of that offered in the A4 Avant--with the rear seats down. Unlike the 5-series GT, access to the cargo bay is available only through a full-size hatch.

Although it's labeled as an A5, the Sportback's engine offerings have more in common with the A4 range. The 180-hp, 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 is the A5 Sportback's base engine, available in a front-wheel-drive model with either a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT. A 211-hp version is also available, but only with Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The A4's direct-injection 3.2-liter V-6 serves as the premium gas engine, and is available only with Quattro and the S-tronic dual-clutch transmission.

As the A5 Sportback is tailor-made for Europe, a number of diesels are also part of the model mix. Volkswagen's ubiquitous 2.0-liter turbo-diesel I-4 serves as the base engine, while 2.7-liter and 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V-6s offer buyers additional power. To further boost fuel economy, both the 2.0-liter gasoline and diesel engines come with a start/stop system on models with manual transmissions.

Europeans should see the A5 Sportback in dealers this September, but we'll have to wait until 2010 to see a Sportback--a larger A7 model--arrive on our shores."

2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 253px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEip_FJUZ6cY9IQcoX_V0tNjmxKO0D6lCGneUBwdm51TrFoOubmZjndyoNdHr7IuXK6Encqxqcwqm75TIXiE5n1Rcu33PediHyoNRr_3JMunolYLUCfAn7suY53h5yWyq5AiJoJZ3fhXlKU/s400/p90050176_highres-630-550x348.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5412412169580273938" />

"When you think about BMW – what is usually the first thing that comes to your mind? Well, the first thing that comes to my mind is never hybrid and never ever fuel efficient, however – BMW has switched their name around a bit and they are not becoming one of the premium hybrid car makers, starting with the all new 2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6. This beautiful, wonderful and powerful BMW lives right up to the name and is certainly one of the hybrids that is not only pretty to look at … but absolutely powerful in every way possible.

The great thing about the 2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6 is that there is a ton of horsepower behind that engine – 480 HP actually and it has very impressive powertain that consists of twin electric motors and twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine. This car can run to sixty and will take just about 5 seconds to get to the top speed of 130 miles per hour.

2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6 is the car to get – it is a hybrid, it is fast and it is by far one of the coolest looking cars."

Volvo’s New XC60 Premium Crossover

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 264px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdFfrm3mZQJrbQ8pdHfFuXIjik0u_AmAHFBKD4CB0VqJ0V3mfDpK_hCJPuAi0EPacjtUCOomGhA9J7U1VDzWCcT8pC_9428raCphMdzluOmQuEUzAQeg8El-hH1mxRVqM9DEsXEc30BR0/s400/18238_1_5_1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410969971760108882" />

"Irvine, Calif.

The XC60’s standard high performance sound system includes AUX and USB inputs to allow connection and control of personal music devices such as iPodsTM, memory sticks and other media players."
Source Volvo Cars USA

Lotus

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 202px; height: 77px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7tc-xiXCrh4NGzDuv3R4PGLuXxOgg1XcMTDFm4V_1rKgQ-_45FLhE-TvvJ7SErxxMsvmPquzPqbhoQMj1POS6KctaQUGE7jITLH6nSxcimwGVwVoGKsx4yH0I4kpnvBRasoy-W6eVlNk/s400/book_test_drive_placeholder.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410924042504424466" />

"Lotus was founded by the brilliant engineer Colin Chapman and we have always held his principles at the core of everything we do; innovation, performance through light weight, excellent ride and handling and fun to drive.

A hand-built manufacturing process using our innovative aluminium chassis provides an involving and communicative drive. Rather than mess with a good thing, the Zoom Zoom company isn't changing much for the new, second-generation compact sedan. (Mazda has chosen to reveal the four-door sedan now at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show; a five-door hatchback, our favorite version of the 3, will be revealed later.)

The new 3 is about three and a half inches longer than last year's car, and weighs about a hundred pounds more (depending on equipment level), but the other dimensions haven't changed, including the wheelbase. That's a good indication that not much has changed underneath the 3, either-and indeed while the 2010 3 has significant revisions to its chassis, including increased use of high-tensile strength steel to reduce the body-in-white's weight by 24 lb while stiffening the suspension attachment points, it rides on largely unchanged suspension and brakes. Don't interpret that as a bad thing-the last 3, even at the end of its six-year production run, was still at the top of its class in our book.

Choose 2.0-liter or 2.5-liter Four-cylinder powertrainsMazda also didn't make any changes to the base 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which produces 148 hp and 135 lb-ft of torque. A gem of an engine, it's both rev-happy and torquey, and mates to either a five-speed manual transmission or a new five-speed automatic (which replaces last year's 4-speed automatic.)

Those buyers wanting a little more power can now opt for the Mazda3s, which uses the same 2.5-liter four as the larger Mazda 6i sedan. This new engine replaces last year's 2.3-liter, and produces 11 more horsepower and 18 more lb-ft of torque, for totals of 167 hp and 168 lb-ft. The engine also receives an additional gear-the manual now has six forward ratios."

Mazda Mazdaspeed 3

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-0guHuMvUkiF96rXVow88P95OgjqRe23jjQBoV_GPbzKoFvWkP9FP7cbdUhQm5I-XzOXyookXK6OmtEu1baobzbThK-rYMmBoEfWdQIq3U-aZmIwUCWPESghxipC12Vq674PyqKBu_bM/s400/0902_01_z+2010_mazda_mazdaspeed_3t+front_three_quarter_view.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319343093502336098" />

"Ignore, if you can, all the various 'MPS' emblems on this hot hatch. They won't be on the car when it's sold in North America as the 2010 Mazda Mazdaspeed 3.

Like its staid sedan and hatchback siblings, the latest iteration of the Mazdaspeed 3 is far from revolutionary. In fact, most changes are cosmetic, including the new wide-eyed front fascia, revised hatch and taillights, and a new hood scoop.

Evolutionary also applies to what's under the hood. The turbocharged 2.3-liter I-4 seen in the last-generation Mazdaspeed 3 soldiers on in the 2010 model, producing the same 260 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Likewise, it's still mated only to a six-speed manual transmission, channeling power to the front wheels.

Still, there are a few things to love about Mazdaspeed's latest compact. To start, the car benefits from additional chassis tuning, including new reinforcements in the firewall and body tunnel to add stiffness. Mazda claims new half shafts were designed to reduce torque steer, and new 18-inch wheels, patterned after those on the RX-8, are capable of handling wider Dunlop 225/40R18 rubber.

And there's also the matter of the car's interior. While the previous 3's cabin wasn't intolerable, the new car's living quarters are a vast improvement. The wraparound dashboard is both slick and sophisticated, and it's highlighted by red-tinted carbon fiber accents. This theme continues with the seating, which wears black leather skins with bright red stitching.

Although it may not represent a quantum leap in power, the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 mixes new refinements with an already potent performance car. We can't wait to get our hands on one when it arrives in the U.S. later this year."

2009 Lincoln C Concept

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvL9oGvusuWMP0epOiL9aY0J1VaDhLIGMqrIUVVDRVun5UZL0wKV59V2gHxono-d2CvEFp3IqeywILv4w_HUfoRI59_gq-5u2IhvG4UhTG9LaE878XhgZ5etLd9dKyukwhci1xn95zgpU/s400/0901_01_z+2009_lincoln_c_concept+side_view.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292848939141180578" />

"Lincoln surprised the media at the 2009 Detroit auto show with a concept car, the C, an ultramodern, small four-door that's based on the platform of the next-generation Ford Focus.
The C is an unabashed attempt by Lincoln to broaden its appeal beyond its traditional, aging buyer demographic. "It's inevitable that a younger generation of buyers will want something different from a luxury brand," says Ford's global design chief, J Mays, in regards to the C. "A small Lincoln like this will appeal to 30-something urban dwellers, people who live in lofts in city centers like Chicago and New York. Yet the C is consistent with what we've been doing since 2005 with the Lincoln brand. Just look at our design DNA, and look at our consistency. You can put the C alongside our current cars, and it fits in with them, without them being just different lengths of the same sausage."
Although the C could easily be mistaken for a luxury vehicle that you might find in Europe, it's definitely intended for an American audience, Mays indicates. "Right now, we are doing our homework," he says about the Lincoln brand. "We need a successful home brand" before the company has any thoughts of taking Lincoln to other parts of the world.
The C, which was designed under the direction of Freeman Thomas and Dave Woodhouse at Ford's Southern California styling studio, is one of the strongest concept efforts we've seen from Lincoln this decade; it's as striking---and clearly as important to the brand---as the MKR concept from the 2007 Detroit auto show. "It's inspired by the 1939 Lincoln," says Thomas. "Our goal," he continues, was to "work closely with engineers. We understand what they do, and when we look at the platforms they offer us, we become vehicle architects alongside the engineers. So our goal here was to maximize the interior by minimizing the size of the drivetrain, which EcoBoost allowed us to do."
You see, even as Ford is unveiling its new, 3.5-liter turbocharged and direct-injected EcoBoost V-6 for the Lincoln MKS sedan and MKT crossover and the Ford Flex at the Detroit show, the company is unveiling another application of its new EcoBoost technology: a 1.6-liter four-cylinder with direct injection and variable cam timing, mated with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The engine also features a stop/start function, similar to those found on hybrids, to help boost fuel economy. Ford claims that this powertrain offers similar performance to a 2.0-liter engine; a central tenet to EcoBoost, which consists primarily of turbocharging and direct injection, is to offer more performance with smaller-displacement, and thus more efficient, engines.
Inside, the C is all concept-car light and airy, with two bench seats featuring what Thomas refers to as "thin-seat technology, with an ergonomically correct comfort curve. This gives us lighter weight, saves space, and provides superior comfort." Although the C is no longer than the current Ford Focus, it's as wide as a Lincoln MKZ sedan, which allowed Thomas and his design team to fit three-across seating in both rows. "We could easily do four bucket seats with a center console running between them, but we wanted to emphasize the width of the vehicle." The C, Ford claims, is as roomy inside as the 1961 Lincoln Continental.
Mays said that the design team felt that the C's white leather and chrome interior "looked too sterile," so they adorned the seats with a whimsical flower motif, cut into the leather by laser, that was inspired by the work of noted British textile artist Helen Amy Murray. The instrument panel features TV screens on both ends displaying images from exterior cameras, plus all manner of iPhone-inspired devices that promise to provide the next generation of Ford's Sync technology. The dash is covered with gray recycled driftwood (this car came from Southern California, remember), and the white and chrome steering wheel, clearly inspired by the Apple iPod, is thicker in depth than it is in width, a reversal of what we usually see. The roof of the vehicle is composed mainly of organically shaped glass panels that maximize both headroom for all six passengers and their view out. The perimeter of the ceiling glass is lined with a series of climate control vents, to offset the solar effect of all the glass.
Although the C looks like a hatchback, with a rear shape that has something in common with the European-market Renault Megane, Thomas insists that "it is not a hatchback. We are looking a lots of 'premium opening systems' such as sliding trays." It sounds to us like Thomas might be aiming for something unorthodox like a single-hinged swing door or Dutch doors.
Naturally, Ford is tight-lipped about when or if the C could morph into a production vehicle, but there is clearly production intent here. We'd venture that we will see it in production form at the 2011 Detroit auto show, if not earlier."

Toyota 2009 IMV

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZc1_8tnQI9k0SrboyG-NYSwDjj2fSC7AjtCuM_baT2BaMA0g3B3uD3JKKyDBcfOv5dsqayh4tEFxxLCi88E49BoIerA1m8X8IWRYLSrUNOauujJmWVJEcCKGnJMclQzbH08ZdI6ybY4I/s400/toyota0901.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5290685685081791170" />
"1Hilux
If you’re looking for power then the Hilux is still the ride for you. The Hilux keeps its D-4D (Direct Injection 4-stroke Common Rail Diesel) engine technology, a highly pressurized injection system that when partnered with Toyota’s Variable Nozzle Turbo and an intercooler translates into pure engine power with better combustion and—the most important part—fuel economy. Our friends at Top Gear call it very “pick-up-y.” Meaning it delivers all you want from a, well, pick-up—can carry loads of stuff while keeping the same power even for long drives. But the rebirth of the Hilux starts with the aesthetics. There are new controls to tinker with and an improved interior to soften the pick-ups overall ruggedness. Then there’s also the new chrome radiator grille that resembles the Toyota Tundra’s. Safety features also now include 15” front ventilated disc brakes.

2 Innova
If there was one crack made at the old Innova’s expense, it was that the new everycar seems to be headed to a path similar to the FX. The new Innova all but trashes that notion. By appearance alone, the Innova is now more luxurious. The wood paneling, button controls on the steering wheel, improved dashboard layout, and a fresher take on its bumper, wheels, and rear lamps prove it’s no longer the FX’s second coming. Toyota, though, kept in mind that the Innova is considered a family car, so they threw in rear ceiling aircon ducts and a bigger luggage space.

3 Fortuner
With the Fortuner, looks are again at the forefront. You get projector-type headlamps, rear combination lamps, and a new radiator grille. The interior features an in-dash 6-CD changer, steering wheel audio switch, phone call bluetooth function and wood trims for the center instrument panel. But what we really rave about are the new 17” alloy wheels. And the performance? It has the same D-4D engine and ABS technology as the rest of the IMV series. Another upgrade is the new coil springs in the chassis. - B.A. Borleo"

http://www.fhm.com.ph

2009 Cadillac CTS-V

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYz7aFsluaR-8CI3EPgQbtMgO-et_aguqmVbpgE8RVjtbklkyVkLcjzCf5JsLAU5XosISM1nKYEWHPiYQ8rzjRD-E1H9OKyhWOT_5mI1wbEI1FXt5fl0q2rTlz83ZGScaTSWV-VeZUSBY/s400/3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283330144463810242" />
"These are strange days for the American auto industry. Maybe that's why I felt like an ER doc heading to the emergency room this morning. But I wasn't speeding to a hospital. Dragged out of bed at an ungodly hour, I was off to the Monticello Motor Club, one of those new subscription-racetrack-cum-country-clubs springing up for millionaire supercar owners, this one 100 miles northwest of New York City.

Cadillac was fixing to let a passel of journalists hammer its new CTS-V-the Standard of the World's redesigned pinnacle of performance and, drumroll please, the fastest production Cadillac ever-on this freshly paved but as yet unfinished track. Just over four miles in length, the Monticello course features an amusing assortment of straightaways, dips, bends, and art-directed elevation changes, any one of which might assist your basic overachieving, undergifted investment banker as he, er, fully depreciates his Lambo. Let the games begin.

Meanwhile, call it melodramatic, but I couldn't help imagining that the procedure we were about to undertake with the CTS-V was going to teach us something meaningful about the health of ailing General Motors, a topic that has become something of a national obsession in recent months.

Nurse: scalpel, please. On a closed circuit, we automotive journalists are to real race car drivers as we are to real doctors, i.e., unrelated. We do not play one on television. But we visited the patient and conducted an extensive examination. So, let us move directly to our diagnosis.

The CTS-V is not the main thing the world needs now. It's not a mass-market item, and it's not what is going to save GM years of hardship as it scrambles to seriously rescale its product line for a much-changed domestic landscape. Although it tries its hardest, with two overdriven gears in both manual and automatic editions, this new Cadillac does not get good gas mileage. At $60,000, it is an exceptional value for what it is, yet it likely won't touch the life of the common man, unless it's running him over."

visit @ http://www.automobilemag.com for more info.

2009 Mini Cooper

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7KAqICUDiGJoTwHFehvWVuVrnIXuu5uCeai89guETwnxq0czHhcz4ndmKZuLdHcUYAbGq3ON5kbyDYgn3P1eRPdPUu-Roq8zJS8lTDckmqno65rfcLHMnVhv7GFKwgVsqiJ8Yk1vNOJg/s400/0812_05z+2009_mini_cooper_s_convertible+rear_three_quarters_view.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283329525709107442" />
"While the electric model was busy stealing the show, something was noticeably missing at the 2009 Los Angeles auto show: a drop-top Mini. That's because the wraps on the all-new 2009 Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S Convertibles weren't pulled off until just now.

We suppose the 'all-new' moniker is a bit misleading. Though the coupe was completely re-worked back in 2007, the ragtop models were still based off the first-generation Cooper. All the various changes exhibited in the new Mini - including both powertrain and styling - weren't applied to the convertibles.

Alas, they are for the 2009 model. Both models share the same engines as their hardtop brethren, which means we can expect a 118-hp, 1.6-liter I-4 in the Cooper Convertible and a 172-hp, turbocharged 1.6-liter I-4 in the Mini Cooper S Convertible. Both engines are more powerful than their predecessors, though enthusiasts may bemoan the demise of the Cooper S' supercharged 1.6-liter I-4 - especially when it comes down to turbo lag.

Many of the last car's styling cues, including the three-position top, carry over onto the 2009 model, though it loses the giant chrome hinges on its rear tailgate. Also new for 2009 is a new automated roll bar, which pops up once the vehicle stability control senses an imminent rollover.

Still, the topless fun will run a considerable tab. The 2009 Mini Cooper Convertible stickers for $24,550, which is $2600 (or ten percent) more than the outgoing 2008. A 2009 Cooper S Convertible starts at $27,450, which is an increase $2050. Customers looking to add goodies like a limited-slip differential, satellite radio, navigation, or leather seating will likely see their sticker prices climb well over $30,000.

We'll have our first look at the 2009 Detroit auto show (but, thanks to the climate, not our first drive) in January. Expect production examples to arrive at dealers beginning March 28."

visit @ http://www.automobilemag.com for more info.

2009 Nissan 370Z

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizhWfIkiw3ftSYmoury4Qz7OpJExXPj9Ch_AwQ_i67U5eO2_UElWwWzZz-ykjAaFq5QdFjL3imz7mRrGMZlxp1zBFRvthjzfTk2capJRN67Z6FhW3W1Pykd0_XM5K38mgViNFRnrkQvvM/s400/0811_01z+2009_nissan_370Z+front_three_quarters_view.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283328077457060898" />
"Nissan knows as well as anyone the dangers in redesigning a popular car. Through the 1990s, it "improved" its Z-car until the bloated 300ZX carried virtually none of the charm (not to mention the sales volume) of the original 240Z. Nissan returned the line to its former glory with the 350Z, and has been rewarded with a brilliantly successful six-year run. And with the 2009 370Z, which is making its debut this week at the Los Angeles auto show, it has proved it has finally learned how to build on success.

The 370Z addresses every major complaint about the outgoing car - namely its weight and sub par interior quality - but maintains and, if anything, further distills the basic Z-car formula.

Powertrain

Not surprisingly, the improvements begin with a boost in power. The 370Z's heart remains the venerable VQ series V-6, but is the updated 3.7-liter unit from the Infiniti G37, making 332 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The most interesting update in the drivetrain lies, surprisingly, in the manual transmission. Whereas most sports car manufacturers of late have tried to make their slushboxes behave more like manuals, Nissan has updated its old-fashioned 6-speed with an automatic-like feature: downshift rev-matching. When a driver selects a lower gear and lifts up on the clutch, the 370Z will automatically respond with a blip of the throttle. The result is a perfect heel-to-toe shift - every time and for every driver. Of course, there will be a way to shut off this feature for those who can't stand even this bit of modern intrusion. And those who want to skip the clutch pedal altogether can opt for a new 7-speed automatic with manual mode and, for the first time in a Z-car, paddle shifters. With either transmission, Nissan says drivers can expect about a 2 mpg improvement in fuel economy compared to the 350Z, which netted 18/25 mpg with a manual (official EPA estimates for the new car have not yet been released).

Suspension

Perhaps more exciting than the gain in power and even the trick transmission is the reduction in weight. Nissan says the 370Z is about 90 lbs lighter than a comparably equipped 350Z, despite being more rigid throughout and meeting tighter (read: weight adding) safety standards. The secret to this accomplishment is aluminum. Nissan engineers used it extensively, including on the hood, rear hatch, and door skins. The 307Z is based on the same updated premium mid-ship platform that underpins the G37, and has new front sub frame made of, what else, aluminum. The control arm front suspension has been redesigned, and the multi-link rear is now stiffer and lighter than before. Despite all the changes and pound shedding, weight distribution remains unchanged at 54/46 front/rear. The 370Z also measures nearly four inches shorter than its predecessor, while gaining an inch in width."

visit @ http://www.automobilemag.com

2009 Audi Allroad Quattro

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 120px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuS96gdNah6ZzCZebt7EgPXOoHgLTNbfDOggfDatfJOH0m-9R-qlCjJ_1jSxK9d8Sy5h7vU7X_BBDrD3zEjX_ORxUCQGYYvQZtUntk1mdywWqia346NJFjpOZBsMa9U5nV2Z-utBJzBpw/s400/audi-allroad-quattro.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269506272202809330" />
"Anyone seeking adventure has to be prepared for surprises - just like The 2009 Audi allroad quattro. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard. The 4.2 is equipped with a standard 4.2-liter, V8, 300-horsepower engine. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. Supreme on the road, undefeated by rough terrain - The 2009 Audi allroad quattro makes no compromises. It's the answer for drivers whose demands don't stop when the "either - or" decision between an off-roader and a roadgoing car has to be made.

In The 2009 Audi allroad quattro they enjoy a perfect blend of the finest technology from both worlds. Alternative power units are the 2.7-litre V6 "biturbo", rated at 184 kW (250 bhp) or the 2.5-litre V6 TDI, which has an output of 132 kW (180 bhp). They give the new Audi the torque and power output potential to tackle every situation with the prowess of a true high-performance athlete."

2009 Audi A4 Avant

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 126px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjGLC4a_OjCw6Rti8VzCHTteMmWGrrQtLmklfOhRX9pSjVY6J1oHLKMumucbWQBUw3Fgf9ACs9pBnDJU-r-7DLA4H5KEfoI1drlNmSd5Zdgxn5xmfS2bZi_hKntvZSSlUYd0A9Qqp31hI/s400/audi-a4-avant.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269504427107837378" />
"The 2009 Audi A4 Avant is a 4-door, up to 5-passenger luxury sedan, wagon, or luxury wagon, available in 2 trims. A car built for those who know their own taste too well to be influenced by the whims of fashion. All the versatility you'll ever need. The irresistible dynamics and ease of handling are matched only by its uncompromising standards of comfort and safety. An estate car that looks as great as it drives. The first-ever 2009 Audi A4 Avant shares basic architecture, dashboard and other components with the new cabriolets, crowned by a fixed roof having fairly large side and rear windows. Offerings are likely to include a V8 S4 as well as lower-priced V6 and 4-cyl 1.8T versions.

The progress that has been made can be seen and felt: new manual gearbox with outstanding shifting comfort and the standard full-colour look of the fully painted body are the characteristic features of The 2009 model year of the Audi A4 Avant Series."

2009 Toyota 4Runner

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 164px; height: 82px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwYZYbgV5-wkBElDfxwt5-L1Z7S73DYaHiGWqgEQMHJ2w89aRbTsfaMBYFqQ2opFI_fj4RFkOFPPngeGO1hBNYn-f9-psskSkktc3kMFgzuSn0TNYcGdz8Pzi9npC97-6XvWDg4UDRGyY/s400/toyota_4runner_limited4x2v6_2009_165x82.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269501396655314578" />
"I purchased this car in Dec. 2006, I bought a 2005. I love it. It rides so smooth and drives great. I am very happy with it. I have never had to do anything but regular maintenance. I am thinking of getting a 2009 for my husband who now drives a Dodge Durano, which drives very different from mine. I had a Jaguar before I bought my Toyota and the dash looks like it especially with the middle controls. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone."

Cars 2009:Acura TSX

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 160px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjbB9np4EmcdAEt8C_CaXKGKdf0blnD0jMPloyRR0PPFi0WQ711nnn4-By4v1MPvR8fOz64TpfaEdvbsUaRSzWSUnZGCaZJ0CdOneUA4rI7pOCQOMi6r9KberxHrxSHS8Bz1IpDK6PSqE/s400/2008-acura-tsx_100032651_s.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269498272239599586" />
"The 2008 Acura TSX is in a tight size and price bracket, in which people are looking for front-wheel-drive models--possibly with all-wheel drive--and probably rule out the more expensive yet less practical rear-wheel-drive sport sedans like the BMW 3-Series and Infiniti G35. The Audi A4 2.0T is a close rival to the TSX; its 200-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is close in output to the TSX's engine, but the Audi's advantage in torque makes it feel faster in most real-world driving. The Audi gets better fuel economy, too, of up to 31 mpg, but it doesn't have handling that's as light and nimble as the TSX. The Saab 9-3 is another close rival, with the base model priced closely to the TSX, with similar power from its 210-horsepower engine, a standard manual transmission, and a similar cabin: spacious in front, with great seats, but rather small in back. The Subaru Legacy GT has the all-weather advantage of all-wheel drive, and a bit more power from a 250-horsepower, turbocharged flat-four engine; it doesn't get the gas mileage of the TSX, 9-3, or A4, though. The Maxima is another alternative; it's larger and roomier--the choice for those who want more backseat space--and it has a smooth and powerful 255-horsepower V-6 engine. Acura dealership service is another selling point in itself."
It is more practical to use this car.

2010 Mazda 3

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 272px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQDwslER4C_iMCCSySZC19Yeidpft6jAmykGEBq_meHDwas-8szyOdSYpa2Kt_rzS8K9y1jWN1CCa4Rqf9NnSgpUyBZv1fb5HPHQcVYkVLXhMTYWXktaT84VxJvrKCHvIfHEUUf1_APQk/s400/2010mazda3sedan3480jl9.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265089724918630466" />
"Mazda will unveil the 2010 Mazda 3 at the Los Angeles Auto Show next month. The new Mazda 3 will feature a fresh new design inspired by the Kabura concept that Mazda revealed in 2006. This is evident in the new Mazda 3’s new face which is now dramatically swept back. This makes the Mazda 3 more akin to the new Mazda 6 in terms of aesthetics with its grinning front grille sitting between and below the sharp, angular headlamps.

The redesigned grill is flanked by two air intakes and a set of fog lamps. The redesign continues to the modern rising waistline and a sloping rear roof that emphasizes a restyled rear end with twin sporty tailpipes.

There were no specs revealed yet but the new Mazda 3 will reportedly come with either a 2.0 or 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. It is also supposed to weight significantly less than the current model incarnation of the Mazda 3. The new 2010 Mazda 3 will be available in showrooms by early next year."

Review: 2009 Honda Pilot

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlUwr3wkRUPdzD0l6IYi4qx4UQAoeQSM1DIjiLaz6R9XIeyM2sKwB4EaiAya_6gLvfRWb7D_OjiYf8LCwArISRSg6FMsBdvhEISoiI5gYgFCGCEuI3DFMdfDECXEgZdJmDOvijAnUlif8/s400/0804_03_z2009_honda_pilotfront_three_quarter_view.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239843373225633586" />

"While the name and a minute number of parts remain the same, the 2009 Honda Pilot is a new vehicle. Every piece of sheetmetal and glass, every mechanical component, and every feature has been gone through yielding a just slightly larger Pilot that put all the space to use inside. And unlike many similar designs it didn't gain too many pounds."

The 2009 looks like a more muscular than its predecessor with of course the enormous highlights. It's a little bit bigger too with the same over hangs, but the wheelbase has been stretched for almost 3 inches.

2009 Pilots use five speed automatic transmission attached to a 3.5 liter V-6 that can produce 250 hp. Really good.

"What Honda hasn't been able to cancel out, though, is torque steer - even on models equipped with optional four-wheel drive. That's surprising, because Honda boasts that its VTM-4 all-wheel-drive system sends power to the rear wheels under acceleration. It must not dispatch enough grunt rearward, though, because it's not difficult to squeal the front tires off the line or light up the inside front wheel when accelerating out of low-speed corners."

2009 Pilot is made by expensive material, upgraded and modified. It has cool features inside and out. Designed for convenience and efficiency. Driving this latest car is really an amazing experience. You can enjoy entertainment inside, bluetooth, and a rear DVD entertainment system. It is huge and lax enough for long distance trip.

Nissan Murano

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVDfBd86iKMch_QK3iTJRAv2KQIlWapWf_jkq0mtllJgINOLnBqakaA5VphZh5n6YFdz2c7wb-Mgo6CUmZA2rS2dJz78Fi7XcM1yG7XWCt-QUxcRKCjh02vcAv2-EK-objkWEZScmJj4k/s400/9080813.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239575715257792562" />
Nissan Murano will be produced limited only. The 265-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine is likely to win the engine bay's vote for the limited edition model and it is expected to be available in either front or all wheel drive."

Nissan Murano is enjoyable to drive.
