Lesson 1

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.
A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, 'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?'
The eagle answered: 'Sure, why not.'
So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:
In the real world, to be sitting and doing nothing and expect money to flow in, you must be sitting very, very high up...However, this is not so, when you are making money online

Lesson 2

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.
While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.
As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.
The dung was actually thawing him out!
He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.
Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story:
(1) While online, not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
(2) Also, not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

Time management is one of the skills that most people rate themselves lowest on in evaluations like performance reviews. Here's some simple tips to improve your time management and productivity and help you maximize the time you can spend on making money:

1. Do the worst first
Start each day by getting rid of your most despised task.

2. Reward Yourself
Find out what motivates you and set rewards for yourself if you can achieve all your tasks. You can also team up with someone and become accountability partners for getting your tasks done.

3. Set Deadlines
When setting yourself a task or getting one from someone else, always find out when it needs to be done by. Then plan an appropriate amount of reminders in your diary before the due date.

4. Get A Life
Schedule in time to relax, do things with your family or read. If the activity is marked out in your diary and you commit to it, you are less likely to neglect it.

5. Don't be afraid to ask for help
What is worse?-asking for help once or doing a task incorrectly five times or not doing it at all? Don't be a victim of the "scared to ask" disease.

First, you have the big boys on the block in any highly lucrative
market.

They pull out all the big guns -- sophisticated product launches,
video, high end membership sites, seminars, coaching.

This is the full arsenal.

And frankly, the skill level is beyond most beginners unless you
have exceptional talent.

There's another kind of player -- the Guerrilla player. This player
knocks off specific topics the big boys overlook or don't cover.

What they do is create little info products, PDF reports, ebooks,
teleseminars that cover very specific topics within the broad,
overall market.

The advantage of these products is they are fairly quick hits to
create.

The other advantage is you can round up 10 of the products into a
bundle and sell that. Or you can break them out and sell them
separately.

I'll give you an example: I've mentioned the market recently that
that teaches guys how to meet girls. And visa versa, girls and
women how to meet guys.

I ran across a site the other day that was cool. He isn't a big
name in the market. So he just is hitting topics that are very
specific that no one else is covering in as much depth.

For example -- the phone.

All guys DREAD calling that girl or woman they just met on the
phone to ask for that illusive date.

So what this guy did is created a little audio product JUST on
that. Only he added one twist to it that I thought was very
clever -- He KNEW guys get all nervous about picking up the
phone and CALLING.

So his little info product teaches them how to do it via
TEXT messaging! Brilliant. He just solved a big anxiety, a
big problem.

And no other "gurus" in that market teach guys how to do the
text game in as much detail (or hardly at all). So he took a
little simple method he'd discovered for getting dates by
text messaging and made a little $20.00 product out of it.

Yeah, no one gets rich off of a $20.00 product. But he does
sell bigger ticket back end stuff. And here again, he has
chosen the role of the GUERRILLA.

He picked a topic hardly anyone else is doing seminars or
big tickets on -- daytime. How to meet girls and women in
coffee shops, bookstores and other daytime activities.

So here he is in this crowded market. And he's founds some
topics to focus on that are not well covered by the big guns.

In Red Factor, I called these "underserved" markets for those
of you who are plugged into that body of knowledge.

Here's another one I spotted.

The point is, you may be new and wondering what YOU can sell in
a crowded market or in ANY market! The answer is to find some
topics that are IGNORED by everybody else.

Then you make those topics your specialty or the focus of your
ebooks, audios, interviews, teleseminars, seminars or whatever.

Now, I've built my whole business on what I call FLANKING moves.
These are similar to Guerrilla moves but are different. The
basic idea, though, is similar.

You sell to underserved markets. Vintage Red Factor thinking
there.

And if you're a struggling beginner wondering WHAT do you sell,
start looking for some little topics in a market that no one
else has done anything on.

That would make you the one and only on that topic.

I used to sign my name: Marlon Sanders, the one and only.

Now you know why.

I don't care HOW crowded the market. You can always find those
Red Factor opportunities, those Guerrilla topics, those Flanking
moves that no one else is covering.

It's a LOT easier to sell when you are the ONLY one with a product
on the topic!

One last example: There's a guy in the magic field who had a trick
that he stopped selling (because he got out of the trick selling
business). I've heard the trick now sells for $1,000 on Ebay.

The trick is a gimmick that lets you FLOAT a bottle without strings
attached. Most levitations of stuff that are close up involve
some sort of string, and therefore can ONLY be done with very light
stuff.

His levitation?

You can float heavy stuff like bottles. And you can do it close up.
And there are no strings used!

How crazy is that?

The point? Here's a killer trick with a SOLID USP. It's a great
little product because it's a "one and only."

I hope I've convinced YOU to consider being a "one-and-only."
And to start out in this business by doing little quick hit products
you can knock out in under a week. Or even a few hours.

Remember that little phone call product I told you about? It was
$20.00 and just a little audio the guy made. But it had great info.

He could get $39.00 for it or maybe $49.00 if he transcribed it into
a tidy little PDF.

Your subscribers are often the best source for new businesses. Sometimes sending a personal note is all it takes to rekindle a business relationship. If you want to do this through email, you can give old customers a special "welcome back" offer - a freebie, a discount, or a bonus when they resume doing business with you.

Offer prospective customers a free sample
This is obvious but frequently overlooked strategy that can improve your business. Everyone can use this strategy effectively. A consultant I know clinched a $10,000 personal coaching client by offering the 1st hour of his services for free.

Focus your advertising

High integrity actions can hurt a little in the short term, but the payback is remarkably quick, making the sacrifice worthwhile.

Finally, in good times or bad, invest in educating your mind by reading business related books and articles from websites like this to increase your sales effectiveness and you will realize that by increasing on your marketing strategies, does not necessarily increase your expenditure...not only does it protect you from declining sales, but it also strengthens your business against the threat of deep-pocketed competitors, who may use these recessional times as an opportunity to outmaneuver you and steal valuable customers away from you.

Many of us, online marketers tend to focus on getting traffic online via Syndication Networks like Traffic Swarm and Blogrush, which is good...but once offline, do we keep going at it? Do we continue to network and let others know about what we do? Here's a few tips to work the crowd....

Plan to talk to 3 new people and gain 3 items of information. Find people on the guest list you would like to meet and introduce yourself to them.
Remember that everyone there wants to network . The chances of rejection are extremely slim.
Focus on people who are pleasant and welcoming.
It is better to be interested than interesting. Let the other person do most of the talking. Be a good listener and encourage other people to talk about themselves.
Small talk about travel, sports, hobbies or family- is the foundation of any relationships.
Remember to ask for the other person's business card and for permission to call him/her later. Write down the agreed date on the back of the card...and transfer this information and any other useful information to a notebook, so that you are well prepared when making that vital folow up call.
Last but not least : Know that you are a likeable person and 99 percent of the people in the crowd are as nervous as you. Believe in Yourself and your expertise. Most of all...Enjoy the networking session and have some FUN!

Before you start your own business, you should know that there's a chance you may fail. Starting a new business and growing it, you will be taking risk after risk along the way.

Confucius once said:

Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fall.

The temptation to quit will be greatest just before you are about to succeed. The entrepreneur who is on the verge of dismal failure grinds it out and builds a successful business. Setbacks happen to everyone. The challenge of bouncing back from a setback has much to do with how long you wait between the experience and the time you truly put your disappointment behind you.

The good news is that resilience can be learned. Here are 5 ways to build it :

1. Make Connections. Networking doesn't just make good business sense,it makes psychological sense. The support goes both ways-helping others, can benefit the helper as well. By forming a network of professional and personal resources, you can tap into a vast pool of advice or end up with many friends who will lend a sympathetic ear when times get tough. Even for home based business,linking your website with others can be a form of networking.

2. Accept Change. People evolve and businesses do too. While change can be painful,accepting that your business will change to meet new circumstances-whether it is an updated business plan or a new niche of customers served. In today's business and economic climate, you must have the ability to be flexible.

3. Take Action. Act on adverse situations as much as you can. Take decisive action, rather than detaching yourself completely from problems and stresses and wishing they would just go away. Problem solving is an active and ongoing process that can increase resilience considerably. Like what a good friend who runs his own camera website, always say to me : "Every Drop Makes An Ocean" and he is right...if we address any huge problem a step at a time...the problem(ocean) will slowly be reduced to a "lake" . It's all about taking the first step and moving with the momentum...one problem at a time.

4. Look for opportunities. Mainly for self-discovery..Small business owners (home based business owners included) can focus so heavily on changes in the market that they forget that they are also evolving as entrepreneurs with each challenge they meet. People often learn something about themselves and may find that they have grown as a result of their struggles.

5. Positive Views. Avoid seeing crises as unsolvable problems. Whether your business had to downsize or change markets to accommodate the economy, your focus should be on the big picture.

Fear of failure and fear of the unknown are always defeated by faith. Have faith in yourself and in the process of change, it will reveal your own inner core of steel. You reap what you sow. But always remember that reaping only comes after sowing and it takes time.

Learn to recognize and work with different personality types if you want to master the art of persuasion and selling in your home business. Some of you might not have the luxury to experience all of them, but it is good to know that they do exist, so that you will know how to handle them when you cross path with them in your business dealings, perhaps in the near future. Here are the 8 different types of personalities :

The Baulkers : These people are indecisive. They can't make up their minds. It takes a lot of patience to work with them. Sooner or later, you have to force the issue b y asking : "What would keep you from signing the agreement letter today?"

The Talkers : You can control the talkers by asking questions to keep pulling them back on track. Use simple questions to which they can answer "yes" or "no".

The Clams : Keep drawing them into the conversation with questions to make them talk. Ask for advice or for their opinions.

The Skeptics : With the cynics, use a lot of raw data. Show proof statements and documentation. Keep getting agreements as you go along.

The Sarcastics : Sometimes they are hard to take, but keep your cool. Find out what is behind their sarcastic remarks Laugh at their sarcasm-all the way to the bank!

The Egoists : Resist the temptation to tell them off. Fed their egos by asking for their opinions and giving them compliments. (Please be honest here!) Win them over by giving in on all the minor issues.

The Bullies : They get their way by acting tough. Be nice, but stand your ground. Don't run, don't fight--just stand.

The Timids : Take it nice and slow, do not rush them. Concentrate on building their confidence.

Whatever you are selling in your business, focus on your client's key benefit for buying immediately. It is called "hot button" selling...you find his primary motivation for buying and zero in on the motivation. You keep asking questions until you find your prospect's strongest reason for acting promptly, then you reinforce the client's own reason. (however, do remember that there is a fine line between asking questions and interrogating him!)

What Is BlogRush And Why Should I Use It?

BlogRush is a "Cooperative Syndication Network." It's a network of blogs that run a small "widget" on their pages. Each time this widget is loaded it will contain 5 clickable headlines which are the blog post titles to other users' posts. Clicking on any of these links will open a new browser window and load the blog and full post. Users earn "syndication credits" based on each time their blog loads the widget as well as each time any of their referrals (users that signup after clicking the "add your blog posts" link on the widget) loads the widget. They also earn additional credit based on all the activity through 10 generations of referrals. 1 Syndication Credit = having one of their recent blog post titles served inside the widget on another member's blog.

How Do I Earn Syndication Credits?

Syndication credits are earned based on the following formula: You earn credits on your own traffic using a 1:1 ratio. (One credit for each time the widget is served.) You then earn credits based on your referrals traffic (and their referrals traffic) through 10 generations of referrals based on the following ratios: 1st and 2nd generation (i.e. your direct referrals and their direct referrals) 1:1, 3rd - 6th generation = 1:4 ratio, 7th - 10th generation = 1:8 ratio. After all the math is calculated, there is a surplus of 1 headline space (5 spaces in each widget load) for every 10 that are served.
