A lady manager of a big reputed office noticed a new man one day and
told him to come into her office.

"What is your name?" was the first thing she asked the new guy.

"John," the new guy replied.

She scowled, "Look... I don't know what kind of a namby-pamby place
you worked before, but I don't call anyone by their first name. It
breeds familiarity and that leads to a breakdown in authority.

I refer to my employees by their last name only ... Smith, Jones,
Baker ...that's all.

I am to be referred to only as Mrs. Robertson. Now that we got that
straight, what is your last name?"

The new guy sighed, "Darling............ My name is John Darling."

"Okay John, the next thing I want to tell you is . . .."

Interesting try it out...!!

As we all are getting lazier day by day, this mail promotes laziness to the core! Generally we have problems in pressing Ctrl+ Alt+Del or Windows+L to Lock our PCs,

Hence it would be better if we could do that by the click of a mouse. Here's how to do it :

1. Right click an empty spot on the desktop, point to New and click Shortcut.
2. In the Create Shortcut dialog box, copy the following into the 'Type the location' of the item text box:
"rundll32 user32.dll,LockWorkStation" remove quotes while typing.
3. Click Next.
4. In "Type a name for this shortcut", type "LOCK" and Click Finish
5. Now just double click on the icon, your desktop will be locked.

First law: Every Software Engineer continues his state of chatting or forwarding mails until and unless he is assigned work by manager.

Second law: The rate of change in the software quality is directly proportional to the payment received from client and the deadline time, and it takes place at the quick rate as and when deadline force is applied.

Third Law: Bugs can neither be created nor be removed from software by a developer. It can only be converted from one form to another. The total number of bugs in the software always remains constant.

Engineers Vs Doctors.

All engineers are gonna like this one....!!!!!
7 Engineers and 7 Doctors are going from PUNE to Mumbai.
So they both gather at Pune Station.
Both groups are desperately trying to prove their superiority.

SCENE 1 (PUNE- MUMBAI) :
7 engineers take only 1 Ticket and 7 doctors buy all 7 tickets..
Doctors are desperately waiting for TC to come......
When TC arrives,
All 7 Engineers get in one toilet So when TC knocks , one hand come out with the ticket and the TC goes away....

NOW on return Journey All of them don't get a direct train to PUNE.
So they all decide to take a Passenger till Lonavala, from there they can easily get a LOCAL to PUNE

SCENE 2 (MUMBAI - LONAVALA) :

Doctors decided, "this time we will prove that we too are equal"....All 7 Doctors take 1 Ticket. Engineers don't buy any ticket at all!!!!!..
TC arrives....
ALL DOCTORS IN ONE TOILET.ALL ENGINEERS IN THE OPPOSITE ONE..
One engineer gets out and knocks the door of Doctors toilet, One Hand comes with the tickets, he takes the ticket and comes in engg.
Bathroom...
TC DRIVES out ALL the doctors from the toilet and they are heavily fined

SCENE 3 ( LONAVALA) :

SO now both the group r on LONAVALA station. Doctors planning their move for last chance, they board the local to Pune.
This time doctors decide that they will play the same(1 ticket) trick.
ALL Doctors take 1 tickets...Engineers BUY all 7 tickets this time...
SO TC Comes. All Engineers showed their tickets.....
Doctors are still searching for toilet in the LOCAL train...........

Conclusion: Technically intelligent people are Genius, so don't mess with Engineers.

It's a fine sunny day in the forest and a rabbit is sitting outside his burrow, tippy-tapping on his typewriter. Along comes a fox, out for a walk.

Fox: "What are you working on?"
Rabbit: "My thesis."
Fox: "Hmm... What is it about?"
Rabbit: "Oh, I'm writing about how rabbits eat foxes."
Fox: "That's ridiculous ! Any fool knows that rabbits don't eat foxes!
Rabbit: "Come with me and I'll show you!"

They both disappear into the rabbit's burrow. After few minutes, gnawing on a fox bone, the rabbit returns to his typewriter and resumes typing.

Soon a wolf comes along and stops to watch the hardworking rabbit.
Wolf: "What's that you are writing?"
Rabbit: "I'm doing a thesis on how rabbits eat wolves."
Wolf: "you don't expect to get such rubbish published, do you?"
Rabbit: "No problem. Do you want to see why?"

The rabbit and the wolf go into the burrow and again the rabbit returns by himself, after a few minutes, and goes back to typing.
Finally a bear comes along and asks, "What are you doing?
Rabbit: "I'm doing a thesis on how rabbits eat bears."
Bear: "Well that's absurd !"
Rabbit: "Come into my home and I'll show you"

Scene : As they enter the burrow, the rabbit introduces the bear to the lion.

Moral: IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW SILLY YOUR THESIS TOPIC IS; WHAT MATTERS IS WHOM YOU HAVE AS A SUPERVISOR.

It's a fine sunny day in the forest and a lion is sitting outside his cave, lying lazily in the sun. Along comes a fox, out on a walk.

Fox: "Do you know the time, because my watch is broken"
Lion: "Oh, I can easily fix the watch for you"
Fox: "Hmm... But it's a very complicated mechanism, and your big claws will only destroy it even more."
Lion: "Oh no, give it to me, and it will be fixed"

Fox: "That's ridiculous! Any fool knows that lazy lions with great claws cannot fix complicated watches"
Lion: "Sure they do, give it to me and it will be fixed"
The lion disappears into his cave, and after a while he comes back with the watch which is running perfectly. The fox is impressed, and the lion continues to lie lazily in the sun, looking very pleased with himself.

Soon a wolf comes along and stops to watch the lazy lion in the sun.

Wolf: "Can I come and watch TV tonight with you, because mine is broken"
Lion: "Oh, I can easily fix your TV for you"
Wolf: "You don't expect me to believe such rubbish, do you? There is no way that a lazy lion with big claws can fix a complicated TV.
Lion: "No problem. Do you want to try it?"

The lion goes into his cave, and after a while comes back with a perfectly fixed TV. The wolf goes away happily and amazed.

Scene : Inside the lion's cave. In one corner are half a dozen small and intelligent looking rabbits who are busily doing very complicated work with very detailed instruments. In the other corner lies a huge lion looking very pleased with himself.

Moral : IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY A MANAGER IS FAMOUS; LOOK AT THE WORK OF HIS SUBORDINATES.

Rupee gets a Avatar.!

India’s Rupee has got a symbol. Just like the dollar symbol $, Euro €, Japan’s ¥ and Great Britain’s £, India too got a currency symbol of its own. This helps Indian currency to distinguish itself from the other currencies like Pak rupee, Sri Lankan rupee and Indonesian rupee. It’s also a proud moment for the country as India joins the elite club of currencies who have a unique symbol.

Indian Rupee symbol facts

Rupee symbol signifies the Devnagari ‘ra’ and the roman letter “R”
Rupee symbol joined the elite club of currencies with universal symbols
Indian Rupee symbol will not make it on to the currency notes or coins
Indian Rupee symbol would be added in Unicode Standard for wider usage

It was incredible; 200 runs in an ODI innings is quite an achievement. Sachin has close to a hundred centuries in international cricket but he really needed this; something very special in an individual innings. He has got so many very good hundreds, but he needed that one knock that would create history. He doesn’t have a triple hundred in Tests, he doesn’t have the quickest fifty or hundred [in ODIs] or the fastest hundred in Tests. He has just got loads of very good Tests and ODI hundreds. So this is something he will especially cherish. He has that one individual innings that he can be really proud of.
It was a terrific innings and there is no one more deserving of getting that record than Tendulkar himself.

Little girl and her father were crossing a bridge.

The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter, "Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river."

The little girl said, "No, Dad. You hold my hand."

"What's the difference?" Asked the puzzled father.

"There's a big difference," replied the little girl. "If I hold your hand and something happens to me, chances are that I may let your hand go. But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens, you will never let my hand go."

In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond.

So hold the hand of the person who loves you rather than expecting them to hold yours...

One day, a ten-year-old boy went to an ice cream shop, sat at a table and asked the waitress, "How much is an ice-cream cone?"

She said, "seventy-five cents."

The boy started counting the coins he had in his hand. Then he asked how much a small cup of ice-cream was.

The waitress impatiently replied, "sixty five cents."

The boy said, "I will have the small ice-cream cup."

He had his ice-cream, paid the bill and left. When the waitress came to pick up the empty plate, she was touched. Underneath were ten cent coins as tip.

Moral of the Story: The little boy had consideration for the waitress before he ordered his ice-crearn. He showed sensitivity and caring. He thought of others before himself.

If we all thought like the little boy, we would have a great place to live.

Show consideration, courtesy, and politeness. Thoughtfulness shows a caring attitude.

A young boy enters a barber shop and the barber whispers to his Customer, "This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to you."

The barber puts a five rupee coin in one hand and two one rupee coins (1+1=2) in the other, then calls the boy over and asks, "Which do you want, son?"

The boy takes the two one rupee coins and leaves.

"What did I tell you?" said the barber. "That kid never learns!"

Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store.

"Hey, son! May I ask you a question?

Why did you take two one rupee coins instead of five rupee coin?"

The boy licked his cone and replied,

"BECAUSE THE DAY I TAKE THE FIVE RUPEE COIN, THE GAME IS OVER"

If you ask most people what is their one major objective in life, they would probably give you a vague answer, such as,

"I want to be successful",

"I want to make a good living",

"I want to live a happy life.",

and that is it.

They are all wishes and none of them are clear goals.

Goals must be SMART:

S - Specific.

M - Measurable

A - Achievable

R - Realistic

T - Time-bound

A farmer had a dog who used to sit by the roadside waiting for vehicles to come around. As soon as one came he would run down the road, barking and trying to overtake it.

One day a neighbor asked the farmer "Do you think your dog is ever going to catch a car?"

The farmer replied, "That is not what bothers me. What bothers me is what he would do if he ever caught one."

Moral of the Story : Many people in life behave like that dog who is pursuing meaningless goals. First set Meaningful and Realistic goal and then work to achieve GOAL.

It is a difficult time for Indian Institute of managements (IIMs), to handle the chaos generated all over the country about CAT 2009 online exam. Many aspirants are not able to complete the test and for many the test did not even start. In most of the centers there were other problems related to the online test. There has been a “virus attack” in the computers of thousands of students and they could not appear in the test during the first two days of the 10-day long entrance that started on Saturday 28th November, 2009.

Candidates could not appear in the test at a few centres in Mumbai, Bangalore and Ghaziabad due to malfunctioning of computers at these places.

The situation was worse at a lab in IMS Ghaziabad, where students protested for not being able to appear in the test.

Indian Institute of Management Ahmadabad director Samir Barua also mentioned the problem of virus attack in various centers. Barua also asked the CAT aspirants to be calm and assured who have failed to take the test, that they would be able to give the test after it is rescheduled.

HER DIARY

Day night, I thought he was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a cafe to have some coffee.

I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late,
but he made no comment.

Conversation wasn't flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk,

he agreed but he kept quiet and absent.

I asked him what was wrong – He said, "Nothing"

I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset.- He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry.

On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled and kept driving.

I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he didn't say, "I love u,too”.

When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore.

He just sat there and watched TV. He seemed distant and absent.

Finally I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he came to bed. I decided that I could not
take it anymore, so I decided to confront him with the situation but he had fallen asleep.

I started crying and cried until I too fell asleep. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts

are with someone else.

My life is a disaster. !!!!!!!!!!!

After 2 years of selfless service, a man realized that he has not been promoted, no transfer, no salary increase no commendation and that the Company is not doing any thing about it. So he decided to walk up to his HR Manager one morning and after exchanging greetings, he told his HR Manager his observation. The boss looked at him, laughed and asked him to sit down saying;

My friend, you have not worked here for even one day.
The man was surprised to hear this, but the manager went on to explain.

Manager:- How many days are there in a year?
Man:- 365 days and some times 366

Manager:- how many hours make up a day?
Man:- 24 hours

Manager:- How long do you work in a day?
Man:- 8am to 4pm. I.e. 8 hours a day.

Manager:- So, what fraction of the day do you work in hours?
Man:- (He did some arithmetic and said 8/24 hours I.e . 1/3(one third)

Manager:- That is nice of you! What is one-third of 366 days?
Man:- 122 (1/3x366 = 122 in days)

Manager:- Do you come to work on weekends?
Man:- No sir

Manager:- How many days are there in a year that are weekends?
Man:- 52 Saturdays and 52 Sundays equals to 104 days

Manager:- Thanks for that. If you remove 104 days from 122 days, how many days do you now have?
Man:- 18 days.

Manager:- OK! I do give you 2 weeks sick leave every year. Now remove that14 days from the 18 days left. How many days do you have remaining?
Man:- 4 days

Manager:- Do you work on New Year day?
Man:- No sir!

Manager:- Do you come to work on workers day?
Man:- No sir!

Manager:- So how many days are left?
Man:- 2 days sir!

India’s Sachin Tendulkar became the man to score the most runs in test Cricket overtaking Brian Lara of West Indies. Also hitting his 50th test Cricket half century, Sachin Tendulkar and India had two reasons to smile.

In the ongoing test series against Australia, When Tendulkar came to bat, he needed 15 runs to beat Brian Lara’s highest runs in test Cricket world record of 11,953 runs. Scoring 88 in 111 balls, Sachin Tendulkar now stands at a whopping 12,027 runs and an average of 54.17.

Tendulkar, when asked about his knock and world record said

“I’m quite pleased with the knock, when I went in we’d lost three wickets in no time, so it was extremely important to have a partnership. I was disappointed because we had targets and we thought, especially after those crackers went off (on getting his highest runs in test Cricket World Record), we’d have to focus on our game and continue batting for a long time,” Tendulkar said. “The reverse swing with the old ball was different to the new ball and it took me a fraction longer to adjust. I paid a heavy price for that.”
