Since I am in the process of painting, wallpapering and what not in my new flat I am going on a hiatus for a week or so. No internet connection in either one apartments during this time so posting will be scarce.
But that doesn't say a girl can dream about all the things she would like, right?

Well...a good and bad thing is that i love Pottery Barn. Fell in love with it when i lived in the States a few (read many) years ago. Whenever I go back for a visit (almost every year) I always end up in one of their stores and oh my oh my....bad thing if I had it near where I live, is that I would go bankrupt! Good thing it isn't near me! Ha...:)

Anyway I have been dreaming of what to do with my walls at the new place and here is some inspirations that I really like.

Wildchild #1 5th birthday

A few weeks a go we celebrated my nieces birthday...aka WildChild #1.

A festive day with lots of pink gifts and makeup.

My mom and WildChild #1 showing off their makeup....can say that all of it ended up later on WildChilds eyebrows. All glittery and all

Her birthday cake she decorated all by herself. All she ate....was the strawberries!

One of the gifts (from yourstruly) was a gigantic keybord which you can play with your feet. Even daddy and WildChild#2 had fun! The dog...not so much!

WildChild #2 literally had ants in his pants! Couldn't sit still for long, above photo is blurred but I do love it so much.

By this recordplayer we sat most of the afternoon, WildChild#2 singing to the songs and serving me tea and biscuits!

She was a strong willed baby and to this day...Little Miss WildChild of ours!

Making cards-the easy way

Okay if you are like me, you probably never ever buy greetingcards but make them yourself! :)
And if you are like me you always make the greetingcards the very same day...right!

I know...it is quite sad but true!

BUT...it can be solved!

If you scrapbook or do some crafts you usually get some supplies over. At least I do.
This is my stash:

I keep mine in folders, at least the paper stash. One for solid colors and one for my pattern paper.
These are the folders that come out whenever my nieces or nephiews come over and demand to do some crafting. (like I am such a push over, wait...I am. Drats!)
Anywho, not that long ago I got a phonecall from my niece asking if she could come over and we ended up at the table doing some crafts.

This is where I got the idea. Why not use my stash of leftovers to create some greetingcards. (lightbulb came on here)

And here is what I did:

a few strips, flowers and a chipboard. A lovely birthday card

similar to above and just a chipboard.

a painted chipboard with crackle paint and a flower.
could be a birthday card, weddingcard, any occasion card

or if you have some beads lying around you could add a string.

Basically just take whatever you have on hand! Nice to know that you have a card lying around whenever you need it. :)

So go raid your stash and get on with it!

I am in the process of moving, in my mind so far. :)
It is going to happen just need to wait a few more weeks first. But that doesn't stop a girl from totally decorate the new place. (if money wasn't a issue....hmm...)

Oh well, I have a few things in mind for the livingroom and kitchen. Bedroom not quite sure yet.
Here is what I am thinking so far:

Ideas are running wild in my head...just need the funds to complete it. This might be a long project to complete. But it is worth it...right?! :)

Prince Charming's Baptism

A few weekends ago I attended Prince Charmings baptism. A glorious day with lots of laugh and oohhing and cuddling. Although I think Prince Charmings older sister was a bit nervous or something. Don't remember how many times we told her to just chill out! :)

The little Prince himself didn't say a peep when he was baptized, he even fell asleep at one point.
Ended up with a few photos, here are some of my favorites:

Prince Charming and Princess Goldilocks

These were taken in december last year and somehow never got around to post them.

Spent the day with my girlfriend and her kids and snapped off some photos while she was on the phone.

Her Prince Charming is I think about 2 months old and Princess Goldilocks is 2,5.

Attended Prince Charmings baptism just a few days ago and he is such a sweet baby....:)

Everyday life at its best...

Christmas 2011 part 2

the second and final part of christmas celebrations.
I apologize beforehand for some of the sucky photos, somehow I never got around to change the settings as the evening went on. (lesson #1 always check your settings)

we did some dancing and twirling, and cuddling with the cutest dog ever

When santa arrived even the adults had to sit in his lap and give him a kiss on the cheek.

We had spiced wine as a welcome drink and WildChild #2 showed off his skills
with the new chainsaw toy he got for christmas. (he tried to cap off my brothers leg shown above)

Even though Santa was big thing all evening, WildChild#1 didn't
quite like the idea of shaking his hand.
Santa however really liked his drink....(Whiskey) ;)

WildChild #1 was a bit afraid of approaching the Santa,
but WildChild #2 stood in waiting eying the bag the entire time.

The best part this Christmas was when Santa ate the porridge!
See WildChild#1 had her doubts about Santa being real and all, sure she was right but we wanted her to believe just a little bit longer. She had her eye that it could be her uncle...
So as a tradition we set out a bowl of porridge for Santa on the stoop (outside steps...think it is the word), and we carried on inside. After a while she wanted to see if Santa had eaten the porridge, patience isn't her virtue at all. And low and behold...the bowl was empty, don't think I have seen such an exited face ever. Little did she know that we let out the dog (photo above) when she was distracted, and well...her nose ended up in the bowl.

So we bought ourselves another year for this litte WildChild! :)

Placecards and Napkinringholders

I got a question from my best friend asking if I would help her with some things for her son's Baptism. Of course I said yes...the answer no wasn't even heard of...:)

I did the placecards and napkinring holders for the reception afterwards. The guideline was something boyish (she has 2 girls already)...that was all I got!! So the only thing that would stop me was my own fantasy. Anyway I wanted to stay away from the traditional "baby blue" and go for more "cool".

And here is what I came up with:

simple design and real easy to make

took the shot before I glued the black strip to a circle.

It took me to evenings to do, maybe 3 hours in total.

Fun and simple craft that don't cost that much. I used about 3-5 cardstocks, 1 pattern paper and some glitterglue.

Christmas 2011 part 1

I know...a tad bit late right?! Oh well...the story of my life! ;)

Anywho...Christmas came and went pretty fast. I wished and wished for snow on Christmas Eve but not a chance in "fill in blank" did it arrive.
on top of that I was batteling a cold that buried itself deep. Even though I turned in early We had a great time celebrating it.

I am all for getting the ball rolling again. Have huge plans for this blog and its contents, just hoping I can pull through them! :)

Getting more time here and making sure that the posts aren't too far between eachother. Since Christmas I have been batteling some illness, one after another. But I haven't quite been taking it easy either...

I had so many plans for this blog for 2012.

And one set back after another....I have been battleling a cold for weeks now and it seems it is going away. (crossing fingers)
Then the other day my back got a serious hit. Was putting on my shoes to take out the trash....and I heard a pop and a sharp pain afterwards. 24 hours later and a sleepless night I am still in pain and have a hard time finding positions to sit or lay down on.

So until I am well...you will just have to be patient.

A new year + HYPE testpilot

It is a new year and it started off gloomy.

Woke up to the sound of rain splattering on my windows and a gray sky. Perfect in a way since I have a cold and feel like.... (fill in whatever negative word you like) :)

Spent the day hanging around the apartment, cleaning some and doing laundry.
Oh and a visit by my niece, who begged to do some crafts. :) Pretty much low-key...

I said the other week that I would share my experience being testpilot for HYPE hairproducts. I went through the process with Smartson and was one of many who got to try out a selection of hairproducts.

I tried the curl booster and UV protector.
Loved them both, the curl booster really works. I have thick heavy hair and whenever i do curl my hair, it always looks bleak after a few hours. = No curls!
Tried the curlbooster and man....the curls stayed the whole day!

Really recommend HYPE if you haven't tried it out. (not sure if they are international yet)

The end of the year

So it is that time again, almost the end of the year and a new one beginning.
I had plans, visions, hopes about the new one. Some I had to discard after certain events....

But that doesn't mean that there will be other replacing them.

Been listening to a lot of music these past few months and here are a few of my favorites:

I ett par år nu så har jag premunerar på nyhetsbrev hos Smartson för att bli testpilot för olika saker.
Och gissa vad som dimpte ner i inboxen idag....:)

For a few years now I am subscribing to this website to become a testpilot for different merchandise. (it is only for items here in Sweden)
You get a email about something and if it is something that strikes your tastebuds you just fill in a form online and wait to be pulled for that test.

Can say that I really sparked my tastebuds...:)
Would be soo much fun testing this one out. Maybe go for a long weekend to my grandmothers or maybe to visit my sister....;)

We are going through another storm tonight...my windows are shaking from time to time.
Being on the sixth floor does have it downfalls :)

And on top of that it is a full moon out there....

Advent tradition

Here in Sweden we have a annual tradition that comes around 1st Advent and some do lead up to christmas. We have a annual advent christmas fair, with local merchants selling their goods, shops are open longer so you can do your christmas shopping, try different foods-drinks-candies etc etc.

This year I was in Stockholm and went to Skansens christmas fair. Lovely day, brisk winds but oh so cozy to walk around the different stands sampling food and drinks. For me it is a tradition to keep, if it was only a bit of snow too it will definitly put you in the christmas mood.

We had lunch at Solliden before going home.

If you are able then this is a thing to see when coming to Sweden. But all around the country there are christmas fairs around the advent holidays.

Lately I have been in a rut...a funk of some sorts and have spent my free time on the sofa watching movies. Pretty much what my energy could cope...

And I am still in a funk...starting to get more energy every day.
