Yeshua’s Kin-dom of Heaven, Chapter 18

[Mk15:42-47:34-36xCS] 42 It was Friday (the day of Preparations), the Day-Before-Shabbat. 43 So as evening approached, Yosef of Arimathaia, a Pharisee and a prominent member of the council, who was himself waiting for the Kin-dom of Heaven, went boldly to Pilatus and asked for Yeshua’s’ body. 44 Pilatus marveled if he were already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead long. 45 When he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Yosef, but only after receiving a large bribe. (As a final insult most crucified criminals were thrown on a trash heap for the vultures.)

46 So Yosef bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb. 47 Miryam of Magdala and some of the other women students saw where he was laid. There was no time to properly finish preparing the body for burial so they would have to return the first day of the week to do so.

[Jn20:1-1,11-18] [✡Song3:3-4] 1 Now on the first day of the week, Miryam Magdala went early, while it was still dark, to the tomb, and saw the stone taken away from the tomb. 11 Miryam was standing outside at the tomb weeping. So, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb, 12 and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Yeshua had lain.

13 They asked her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”

She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Love, and I don’t know where they have laid him.” 14 When she had said this, she turned around and saw Yeshua standing, and didn’t know that it was Yeshua.

15 Yeshua said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?”

She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”

16 Yeshua said to her, “Miryam.”

She turned and said to him, “Rabboni!”

[Song3:4] She held him, and would not let him go.

17 Yeshua said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father;

but go to my sisters and brothers, and tell them,

‘I have been raised by my Mother and your Mother,

by my Holy Spirit and your Holy Spirit;

and now I am ascending to my Father and your Father,

to my God and your God.’

But Miryam know this, there is only One, the Spirit-God,

who is Adonai-Shekhinah, the Mother-Father.”

18 Miryam Magdalene came and told the students that she had seen the Lord, and that he had said these things to her.

[Jn20:3-8,10] 3 Therefore Kefa, Toma and Filippos went out, and they went toward the tomb. 4 They all ran together. Toma and Filippos outran Peter, and came to the tomb first. 5 Stooping and looking in, they saw the linen cloths lying, yet they didn’t enter in. 6 Then Shimon Kefa came, following them, and entered into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying, 7 and the cloth that had been on his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself. 8 So then Toma and Filippos who came first to the tomb also entered in, and they saw and trusted. 10 So the students went away again to their own homes.

19 When therefore it was evening, on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were locked where the students were assembled, for fear of the Sadducees and Romans, Yeshua came and stood in the middle, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”

20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad when they saw the Mashiah.

[Acts of John 94-101xCS] Then Yeshua said,

“Let us sing a hymn to the Father and Mother of us all and dance in joy before them”

He told the students to form a circle, holding each other‘s hands,

And he stood in the middle and said,

“Answer ‘Amen’ to me.”

And Yeshua began singing a hymn:

“Glory be to you, Mother and Father,

(The students circled round him and answered him), ―Amen!

Glory be to you, Adonai,

Glory be to you, Shekhinah–Amen!

Glory be to you, Holy Spirit,

Glory be to you Hokmah (Wisdom),

Glory be to you, Holy One –Amen!

We praise you, Father and Mother:

We thank you, Light: In whom no darkness dwells –Amen!

I am the bread of life [Jn6:35, 41, 48, 51], come, break and eat me. –Amen!

I am the true vine [Jn15:1, 5] and you are the branches . –Amen!

I am the light of the world [Jn8:12], come, see by me. –Amen!

I am the door of the sheep [Jn10:7, 9], come, enter by me. . –Amen!

I am the good shepherd [Jn10:11, 14], come, follow my voice. –Amen!

I am the way, truth, and life [Jn14:6], come, walk in me and know truth. –Amen!

I am the resurrection and life [Jn11:25] come, be raised and live with me. –Amen!

The earth and the moon sing praises with us. –Amen!

The stars in the heavens dance on high. –Amen!

[Mt25:31-46]
Come, blessed of my Parents, inherit the Kin-dom prepared for you. –Amen!

I was hungry, and you gave me food. –Amen!

I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. –Amen!

I was a stranger, and you took me in. –Amen!

I was naked, and you clothed me. –Amen!

I was sick, and you visited me. –Amen!

I was in prison, and you came to me. –Amen!

Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one

of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you did it to me. –Amen!

Say again to me,

Glory be to you, Mother and Father,

Glory be to you Adonai,

Glory be to you, Shekhinah,

Glory be to you, Holy One, -Amen!

33 When he had finished the dance

he said to his students,

“Peace be with you.

Receive my peace unto yourselves.

[Jn20:22xCS] He breathed on them,

and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit!

[John14:12-18]
12 Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me,

the works that I do, he will do also;

and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to my Father.

13 Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do,

that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.

15 If you love me, keep my commandments.

16 I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Advocate,

that she may be with you forever,—

17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive;

for it doesn’t see her, neither knows her.

You know her, for she lives with you, and will be in you.

18 I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you.

[Mm4:34-38]
34 Beware that no one leads you astray

saying ‘Look here or look there!’

For the Holy Spirit is within you.

35 Follow after her!

36 Those who follow her will find me, the Human Child.

37 Go then and preach the gospel of the Kin-dom.

38 Do not lay down any rules beyond what I appointed you,

and do not give a law like the lawgiver lest you be constrained by it.

[Jn20:23] If you forgive anyone’s sins, they have been forgiven them.

If you retain anyone’s sins, they have been retained.”

[Jn20:21]
He then said to them again, “Peace be to you.
As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”

[Mm4:39] When he said this he departed.

[Mm5:1-4] 1 But they were grieved. They wept greatly, saying, “How shall we go to the Jews and Gentiles and preach the gospel of the Human Child? If they did not spare him, how will they spare us?”

2 Then Miryam of Magdala stood up,

greeted them all,

kissing them gently on the forehead,

and said to her brothers and sisters,

“Do not weep and do not grieve nor be irresolute,

for his grace will be entirely with you and will protect you.

3 But rather, let us praise his greatness,

for he has prepared us and made us truly human.”

4 When Miryam said this, she turned their hearts to the good,

and they began to discuss the words of the Human Child.

[Mm9:3-4,6-10xCS] 3 Kefa answered and spoke concerning these same things.

4 He questioned them about the Mashiah: “Are we to turn about and all listen to her? Did He prefer her to us?”

6 Mattai answered and said to Kefa, “Kefa you have always been hot tempered. 7 Now I see you contending against the woman like the adversaries.”

“8 But if the Mashiah made her worthy, who are you indeed to reject her? Surely the Mashiah knows her very well.”

“9 That is why He loved her more than us. Rather let us be ashamed and put on the perfect Man, and separate as He commanded us and preach the gospel, not laying down any other rule or other law beyond what the Mashiah said.”

10 And when they heard this they began to go forth to proclaim and to preach

Yeshua’s Kin-dom of Heaven, Chapter 17

[CS17:1-7] 1 So they bound Yeshua, led him away and handed him over to Pontius Pilatus. 2 On the way the Sadducees, chief priests and elders who were against him reviewed their plans. 3 They presented him to Pilatus and accused him of many things. 4 They said he was guilty of sedition for preaching that he was the King of the Jews and that he would reign over a restored Kingdom of Yisrael to rival Caesars. 5 They told Pilatus how Yeshua had been caught desecrating the sacrifice for Caesar that very day, which was an act of insurrection.

6 Pilatus said to Yeshua, “The penalty is death if you are found guilty of these charges. Do you have anything to say for yourself?”

7 Yeshua answered, “Most certainly I tell you, Pontius Pilatus, governor of Yehuda.

[✡Is3:13-15]

‘13 I stand up to accuse you! I stand to judge you Pilatus!

14 I will declare my judgment against you and your officers:

“It is you who have eaten up the vineyard.

The plunder of the poor is in your houses.

15 What do you mean that you crush my people,

and grind the faces of the poor?!’”

[CS17:8-10] 8 When Pilatus heard this he was outraged. 9 He had Yeshua flogged and handed him over to be executed by crucifixion. 10 It was the day before the Passover and two days before the Shabbat.

[Mk15:16-23xCS] 16 The soldiers led him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they called together the whole cohort. As was the custom for insurrectionists they dressed him as if he was an emperor since he dared challenge Caesar, then they mocked and tormented him. 17 They clothed him with purple, and weaving a crown of thorns, they put it on him. 18 They began to salute him, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 19 They struck his head with a reed, and spat on him, and bowing their knees, did homage to him. 20 When they had mocked him, they took the purple off of him, and put his own garments on him. They led him out to crucify him at dawn. 21 They compelled to bear his execution stake. 22 They brought him to the place called Gulgulta (Golgotha), which means “The place of a skull.” 23 They offered him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but he didn’t take it.

[Mk15:24,26-27,29-35] 24 Crucifying him, they parted his garments among them, casting lots on them, what each should take. 26 The superscription of his accusation was written over him, “THE KING OF THE JEWS.” 27 With him they crucified two robbers; one on his right hand, and one on his left.

29 Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads, and saying, “Ha! You saved others, 30 save yourself, and come down from the cross!”

31 Likewise, also the chief priests mocking among themselves with the scribes said, “He saved others. He can’t save himself. 32 Let the Mashiah, the King of Yisrael, now come down from the cross, that we may see and trust him.” Those who were crucified with him also insulted him.

[Mk15:40-41] 40 Watching from a distance were Miryam of Magdala, Shlomit the mother of Yaakov and Yohanan; Miryam the mother of Yohanan the younger and Yoses; 41 and many of the other women who had come up with him from the Galil to Yerushalayim.

[CS17:11] However, the twelve men students seeing him being lead out to be crucified became terrified and ran off to hide in a cave on the Har HaZeitim,.

[Jn19:25] Then Yeshua’s mother, and his mother’s sister arrived, and Miryam of Magdala, who was his companion and the student he loved most, went to the base of the cross with them. 26 Therefore when Yeshua saw his mother, and the student whom he loved most standing there, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold your daughter!” 27 Then he said to his beloved companion, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour, Miryam of Magdala took her to her own home.

[Mk15:33-35xCS] 33 It was the day before the Passover Shabbat and 34 at three in the afternoon Yeshua cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is, Aramaic for, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” 35 Some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, “Behold, he is calling Eliyahu.”

[CS17.13-14] 13 Miryam of Magdala cried out, “No! He’s praying the Psalm!” 14 And she continued the Psalm to finish it for him because he was too weak to do so himself and the other women joined her:

[✡Psalm22:1-5,7-11,22,24]

1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?

2 My Mother, I cry in the daytime, but you don’t answer;

in the night season, and am not silent.

3 But you are the Holy One,

you who inhabit the praises of Yisrael.

4 Our ancestors trusted in you.

They trusted, and you delivered them.

5 They cried to you, and were delivered.

They trusted in you, and were not disappointed.

7 All those who see me mock me.

They insult me with their lips.

They shake their heads, saying,

8 “He trusts in the Holy One;

let her deliver him.

Let Shekhinah rescue him,

since she delights in him.”

9 But you brought me out of the womb.

You made me trust at my mother’s breasts.

10 I was thrown on you from my mother’s womb.

You are my God since my mother bore me.

11 Don’t be far from me, for trouble is near.

For there is no one to help.

19 Don’t be far off, Shekhinah.

You are my help: hurry to help me.

22 I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters.

Among the assembly, I will praise you.

24 For Shekhinah has not despised

nor abhorred the suffering of the afflicted,

Neither has she hidden her face from him;

but when he cried to her she heard.

[CS17.15] Not long after they had finished the psalm, Yeshua breathed his last with a loud cry.

Yeshua’s Kin-dom of Heaven, Chapter 16

[CS16:1-3] 1 Then Yeshua went into the Holy Place of the Temple where the sacrifices are offered, followed by his students and a large crowd. The Sadducees entered after him in stealth hoping to trap him in something.

2 Ever since the time of Herod the Great (74-1 BCE), the chief priests had been offering sacrifices for Caesar and the Roman people twice a day. 3 Yeshua walked in to the sacrifice for Caesar and began to destroy the sacrifice saying to them,

“Have you not read the Psalm:

[✡Ps78.58-59xCS] 58 ‘For they provoked him to anger and moved him to jealousy with their engraved images. 59 When Adonai heard this, he was angry, and greatly abhorred Israel!'

[CS16:4-7] 4 The Sadducees who witnessed this were delighted because they had caught Yeshua in an act of treason and could present him to Pilatus for execution. 5 However, they stopped the Temple guard from arresting him at that time because they feared the crowds who followed him. 6 So they said, “We will wait and arrest him tonight when he is alone with his students.” 7 Yeshua overheard them say this as he was leaving and he knew his time had come.

[Mk14:10-11xCS] 10 Then one of crowd that followed Yeshua, no one knows who he was, went to the Sadducees to betray him to them. They were delighted to hear this and later it was said they promised to give him money. 11 So he agreed to lead them to him that night and to hand him over.

[Mk14:17-26xCS] 17 When it was evening Yeshua came with the seven women and twelve men students to an upper room. 18 That evening while they were reclining at the table eating, he said, “Most certainly I tell you, my hour has come. 19 Tonight I will be delivered over to the Sadducees and the Romans. 20 The Sadducees will accuse me of being a rebel and hand me over to the Roman governor for execution.”

21 They were saddened, and one by one they said to him, “Surely you don’t mean this Rabbi?”

22 While they were eating, Yeshua took bread, and said, "Blessed are you, O Adonai our Father, God of the universe, who has brought forth bread from the earth." When he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his students, saying, “Take it; this is my body.”

23 Then he took a cup, and said, “Blessed are you, O Shekhinah our Mother, Holy Spirit of all creation, who has brought forth the fruit of the vine.” When he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it. 24 “This is my blood which is poured out for all to enter the Kin-dom,” he said to them.

25 “Most certainly I tell you, I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in the Kin-dom of Heaven. Do this to remember me until that day.”

[Jn13:4-5,12-17xCS] 4 After they had broken bread Yeshua arose from supper, and laid aside his outer garments He took a towel, and wrapped the towel around his waist. 5 Then he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the students’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him. 12 So when he had washed their feet, put his outer garment back on, and sat down again, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call me, ‘Rabbi’ and ‘Master.’ You say so correctly, for so I am. 14 If I then, the Master and the Rabbi, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you. 16 Most certainly I tell you, a servant is not greater than their master, neither one who is sent greater than the one who sent them. 17 If you know these things, I say Adonai’s favor is with you if you do them.

When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Har HaZeitim.

[Mk14:32–42xCS] 32 They came to a place which was named Gat Shmanim (Gethsemane). He said to his students, “Sit here, while I pray.” 33 He took with him Kefa, Toma and Miryam of Magdala, and began to be greatly troubled and distressed. 34 He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here, and watch.”

35 He went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him. 36 He said, “Abba*,Father , all things are possible to you. Please remove this cup from me. However, not what I desire, but what you desire.” *(“Daddy”)

37 He came and found the men sleeping, but Miryam of Magdala was still awake and watching. 38 He told her, “Miryam you alone have been faithful and stayed awake with me. Watch and pray, that you and the others may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

39 Again he went away, and prayed. “Ima*, Mother,” he said “you can accomplish all things. Protect me from the dogs that come to encircle me. Yet if it must be, give me the strength to endure the trial.” *(“Mommy”)

40 Again he returned, and found only Miryam awake. 41 He came the third time, and said to Kefa and Toma, “Wake up now, you’ve had your rest. It is enough. The hour has come. Behold, I am betrayed into the hands of sinners. 42 Arise, let us be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”

[Mk14:43-50xCS] 43 Immediately, while he was still speaking, his betrayer, one of the larger group that followed him, came—and with him a multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the Sadducees, and the elders.

44 Now he who betrayed him had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I will kiss, that is he. Seize him, and lead him away safely.” 45 When he had come, immediately he came to him, and said, “Rabbi! Rabbi!” and kissed him. 46 They laid their hands on him, and seized him. 47 But a certain one of those who stood by drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

[Lk22:51] But Yeshua answered, “No more of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.

[Mk14:48-50xCS] 48 Then he said, “Have you come out, as against a rebel leader, with swords and clubs to seize me? 49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me.”

50 Then the twelve left him, and fled;. However, the seven led by Miryam of Magdala protested his arrest; but Yeshua told them they could do nothing to save him and to keep themselves at a safe distance.

Yeshua’s Kin-dom of Heaven, Chapter 15

[Mk13:3] As he sat on the Har HaZeitim opposite the Temple, Kefa, Filippos, Toma, Shoshanah, and Mariamne asked him privately,

[Tm18:1-4] 1 "Tell us how our end will be."

2 Yeshua said, "Have you discovered, then, the beginning, that you look for the end?

3 For where the beginning is, there will the end be.

4 I say Adonai’s favor is upon the one who will take their place in the beginning; they will know the end and will not experience death."

[Tm113:1-4] 1 They again questioned him, "When will the Kin-dom come?"

2 He answered them, "It will not come by waiting for it.

3 It will not be a matter of saying 'here it is' or 'there it is.'

4 Rather, the Kin-dom of Heaven is spread out upon the earth, and people do not see it."

[Tm52:1-2] 1 They said to him, "Twenty-four prophets spoke in Yisrael, and all of them spoke in you."

2 He said to them, "You have omitted the one living in your presence and have spoken only of the dead.

[Tm38:1-2] 1 Many times have you desired to hear these words which I am saying to you, and you have no one else to hear them from.

2 There will be days when you will look for me and will not find me.

[Tm59] Take heed of the living one while you are alive, lest you die and seek to see him and be unable to do so."

[Mk14:1-2] 1 It was now two days before the feast of the Passover and the unleavened bread, and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might seize him by deception, and kill him.

2 For they said, “Not during the feast, because there might be a riot of the people.”

[CS] That day as was his practice Yeshua went and taught in the Temple portico were all the people could be present and listen— men, women, children and even Gentiles.

Someone asked Yeshua, “How should we fast?”

He said, “As it is written in Yeshayahu where Adonai says:

[✡ Is58:6-8]

‘What will you call a fast,

and an acceptable day to Adonai?

6 “Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen:

to release the bonds of wickedness,

to undo the straps of the yoke,

to let the oppressed go free,

and that you break every yoke?

7 Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry,

and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house?

When you see the naked,

that you cover them;

and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?

8 Then your light will break out as the morning,

and your healing will appear quickly;

then your righteousness shall go before you;

and Shekhinah’s glory will be your rear guard. ’’

[CS] 1 “This is the fast that Adonai desires. Do this and you fulfill all the obligations of the Torah.”

2 Then he added, “If the Sadducees who control the Temple treasury were to follow this there would be much rejoicing among the poor, the widows and the orphans of Yisrael.”

3 The Sadducees standing nearby heard this, grew angry and began hurling insults at him.

[Mk11:15-18] 15 Then Yeshua entered into the Temple, and began to throw out those who sold and those who bought in the Temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seats of those who sold the doves.

16 He would not allow anyone to carry a container through the Temple.

17 He taught, saying to them, “Isn’t it written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations?’ But you have made it a den of robbers!”

18 The Sadducees heard it, and sought how they might destroy him. For they feared him, because all the multitude was astonished at his teaching.

[Mk11:27-31] 27 As he was walking in the temple, the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders came to him,

28 and they began saying to him, “By what authority do you do these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?”

29 Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

30 The baptism of John—was it from heaven, or from men? Answer me.”

31 They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we should say, ‘From heaven;’ he will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’

32 If we should say, ‘From men’”—they feared the people, for all held John to really be a prophet.

33 They answered Jesus, “We don’t know.”

Jesus said to them, “Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

[Mt23:29,33xCS] Then Yeshua said to them,

“Damn you, Sadducees! You snakes! You brood of vipers!

How will you escape being condemned to Gei Hinnom?

[✡Is10.1-4xCS]

1 You who help Pontius Pilatus enact unrighteous and oppressive decrees;

2 to deprive the needy from justice,

and to rob the poor among my people of their rights, that widows may be their plunder, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!

3 What will you do in the day of visitation,

and in the desolation which will come from afar?

To whom will you flee for help?

Where will you leave your wealth;

4 so as not to squat down among the prisoners,

and fall under the slain?

“Damn you, Sadducees!

For all this Shekhinah’s anger is not turned away,

her hand is still stretched out to strike.

9b ‘But even you Sadducees- even you!—

“If you take away from among you the yoke,

finger pointing,

and speaking wickedly;

10a and if you pour out your soul to the hungry,

and satisfy the afflicted soul:

9a Then you will call, and Shekhinah will answer;

you will cry for help, and she will say, ‘Here I am.’

[Lk11:53-54xCS] 53 When Yeshua went outside, the Sadducees began to be terribly angry, and to draw many things out of him;

54 lying in wait for him, and seeking to catch him in something he might say, that they might accuse him.

Yeshua’s Kin-dom of Heaven, Chapter 14

[Mk11:1] 1 When they came near to Yerushalayim, to Beit Pagey (Bethphage) and Beit Aniyah (Bethany), at the Har HaZeitim (Mount of Olives),

[Lk10.25-37xCS] 25 Behold, a certain lawyer of the Torah stood up and tested him, saying, “Rabbi, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”

27 He answered, “You shall love Adonai your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind;

28 He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”

29 But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Yeshua, “Who is my neighbor?”

30 Yeshua answered, “A certain Jew was going down from Yerushalayim to Yeriho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

31 By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

32 In the same way a Sadducee also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side.

33 But a certain Arab Palestinian (Samaritan), as she traveled, came where he was. When she saw him, she was moved with compassion,

34 came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. She set him on her own animal, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

35 On the next day, when she departed, she took out two denarii, and gave them to the host, and said to him, ‘Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.’

36 Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?”

37 He said, “She who showed mercy on him.” Then Yeshua said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

[Mk12:13-34,38-40xCS] 13 They sent some of the Sadducees and of the Herodians (who collaborated with the Roman occupiers) to Yeshua, that they might trap him with words. 14 When they had come, they asked him, “Rabbi, we know that you are honest, and don’t defer to anyone; for you aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of Adonai. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?

15 Shall we give, or shall we not give?”

But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why do you test me? Bring me a denarius, that I may see it.”

16 They brought it. He said to them, “Whose is this image and inscription?” They said to him, “Caesar’s.”

17 Yeshua answered them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to Adonai the things that are Adonai’s.” They marveled greatly at him.

18 There came to him Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection. They asked him, saying,

19 “Rabbi, Moshe wrote to us, ‘If a man’s brother dies, and leaves a wife behind him, and leaves no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up offspring for his brother.’

20 There were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and dying left no offspring.

21 The second took her, and died, leaving no children behind him. The third likewise;

22 and the seven took her and left no children. Last of all the woman also died.

23 In the resurrection, when they rise, whose wife will she be of them? For the seven had her as a wife.”

24 Yeshua answered them, “Isn’t this because you are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of Shekhinah?

25 For when they will rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in Heaven.

26 But about the dead, that they are raised; haven’t you read in the book of Moshe, about the burning bush, how the Holy Spirit Shehkinah spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Avraham and Sarayahu, the God of Yitzhak and Rivkah, and the God of Yaakov and Lea, Rahel, Bilha and Zilpa.’

27 She is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are therefore badly mistaken.”

28 A female Pharisee* came, and heard them questioning together. Knowing that he had answered them well, she asked him, “Which commandment is the greatest of all?”

29 Yeshua answered, “The greatest is, ‘Hear, Yisrael, Adonai our God, Adonai is one:

30 you shall love Adonai your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.

31 The second is like this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

32 The female Pharisee said to him, “Truly, Rabbi, you have said well that he is one, and there is none other but he,

33 and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love ones neighbor as oneself, is more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

34 When Yeshua saw that she answered wisely, he said to her, “You are not far from Heaven’s Kin-dom.” No one dared ask him any question after that.

38 The common people heard him gladly. In his teaching he said to them, “Beware of the Sadducees who like to walk in long robes, and to get greetings in the marketplaces,

39 and the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts:

40 those who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”

[Ac5:33-39] 33 The Sadducees when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and determined to kill him.

34 But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the Torah, honored by all the people, overheard them plotting against Yeshua.

35 He said to them, “You men of Yisrael, be careful concerning this man, what you are about to do.

36 For before these days Athronges* (3 CE) rose up, making himself out to be somebody; to whom a number of men, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed, and came to nothing.

37 After this man, Judas of Galilee* (6 CE) rose up in the days of the enrollment, and drew away some people after him. He also perished, and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.

38 Now I tell you, withdraw from this man Yeshua, and leave him alone. For if his work is not of Adonai, it will be overthrown.

39 But if it is of Adonai, you will not be able to overthrow it, and you would be found even to be fighting against Shekhinah!”

But they would not yield as Gamaliel advised. Yet they could not find any way to trap Yeshua, because all the people hung on his words.

[Mk12:41-44xCS] 41 Yeshua sat down opposite the treasury, and saw how the multitude cast money into the treasury. Many who were rich cast in much.

42 A poor widow came, and she cast in two small lepta coins (worth less than 1% of an agricultural worker’s daily wages).

43 He called his students to himself, and said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, this poor widow gave more than all those who are giving into the treasury,

44 for they all gave out of their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, gave all that she had to live on.”

[Mk10.1] 1 He arose from there and came into the borders of Yehuda and beyond the Yarden. Multitudes came together to him again. As he usually did, he was again teaching them.

[Mt11:28-30] 28 “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

[Mk10.2-9,11] 2 Pharisees came to him testing him, and asked him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?” 3 He answered, “What did Moshe command you?” 4 They said, “Moshe allowed a certificate of divorce to be written, and to divorce her.”

5 But Yeshua said to them, “For your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment.

6 But from the beginning of the creation, Shekhinah made them male and female, 7 For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife, 8 and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 What therefore Shekhinah has joined together, let no one separate.”

11 He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.”

[Ph131-143xCS] 5 Teaching the people and he said, “The Kin-dom of Heaven is like a wedding chamber. 6 No one can know when the husband and the wife are sexually intimate with one another, except the two of them. 7 The sexual intimacy of a true marriage is pure and compassionate; it is a mystery of oneness. 8 The two that become wife and husband of the wedding chamber, they alone will receive that mystery. 9 If anyone does not receive it while they are there, they will not be able to receive it any other place. 10 She who receives that light will not be tormented even while she dwells in the world. 11 And again when he leaves the wedding chamber, he has already received the truth also. 12 So it is for those who receive the Kin-dom of Heaven.”

[Mk10.13-16] 13 They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the students rebuked those who were bringing them. 14 But when Yeshua saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, “Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for Heaven’s Kin-dom belongs to such as these. 15 Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive the Kin-dom like a little child, they will in no way enter into it.” 16 He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them.

[Mk10.17-22xCS] 17 “As he was going out into the way, a young rich man of the ruling class ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, “Good Rabbi, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”

18 Yeshua said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—Adonai. 19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not give false testimony,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and mother.’

20 He said to him, “Rabbi, I have observed all these things from my youth, and fulfilled the Torah and the prophets.”

21 Yeshua looking at him loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow me.”

22 But his face fell at that saying, and he was sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions.

For it stands written in the Torah: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’; and look, many of your brothers and sisters, sons and daughters of Avraham and Sarayahu, are covered with dirt and die of hunger - and your house is full of many good things and nothing at all comes out from it to them!

[Mk10.23-52] 23 Yeshua looked around, and said to his students, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into Heaven’s Kin-dom!”

24 The students were amazed at his words. But Yeshua answered again, “Children, how hard is it for those who trust in riches to enter into Heaven’s Kin-dom! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich person to enter into Heaven’s Kin-dom.”

26 They were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, “Then who can be saved?”

27 Yeshua, looking at them, said, “With humans it is impossible, but not with Shekhinah, for all things are possible with Shekhinah.”

28 Kefa began to tell him, “Behold, we have left all, and have followed you.”

29 Yeshua said, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the sake of the Good News, 30 but they will receive one hundred times more now in this time, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land, with persecutions; and in the age to come eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last; and the last first.”

32 They were on the way, going up to Yerushalayim; and Yeshua was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the students, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him. 33 “Behold, we are going up to Yerushalayim. I will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn me to death, and will deliver me to the Gentiles. 34 They will mock me, spit on me, scourge me, and kill me. But I trust that on the day of the resurrection of the just that I will raised by my Mother, Shekhinah.”

35 Yaakov and Yohanan, the sons of Zavdai, came near to him, saying, “Rabbi, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask.”

36 He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”

37 They said to him, “Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand, and one at your left hand, in your glory.”

38 But Yeshua said to them, “You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”

39 They said to him, “We are able.” Yeshua said to them, “You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; 40 but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared.”

41 When the ten heard it, they began to be indignant towards Yaakov and Yohanan.

42 Yeshua summoned them, and said to them, “You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations master it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 43 But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant. 44 Whoever of you wants to become first among you, shall be bondservant of all. 45 For I also was anointed by the Holy Spirit not to be served, but to serve, and to give my life for many to enter the Kin-dom of Heaven.”

46 They came to Yeriho (Jericho). As he went out from Yeriho, with his students and a great multitude, the son of Timai, Bar Timai, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road. 47 When he heard that it was Yeshua the Natzrati (Nazarene), he began to cry out, and say, “Yeshua, you son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he cried out much more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”

49 Yeshua stood still, and said, “Call him.” They called the blind man, saying to him, “Cheer up! Get up. He is calling you!” 50 He, casting away his cloak, sprang up, and came to Yeshua.

51 Yeshua asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “Rabboni (great Rabbi), that I may see again.”

52 Yeshua said to him, “Go your way. Your trust has made you well.” Immediately he received his sight, and followed Yeshua on the way.

[Lk19:1-10] 1 He entered and was passing through Yeriho. 2 There was a man named Zakai (Zacchaeus). He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. 3 He was trying to see who Yeshua was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short. 4 He ran on ahead, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.

5 When Yeshua came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zakai, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” 6 He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully. 7 When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”

8 Zakai stood and said to Yeshua, “Behold, Master, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”

9 Yeshua said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Avraham and Sarayahu. 10 For I was anointed by Shekhinah to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Yeshua’s Kin-dom of Heaven, Chapter 12

[Ph59-60] 59 Yehusa’s companion was Miryam of Magdala. The Rabbi loved Miryam more than all the other students, and he talked with her often. The rest of the students saw his love for Miryam, and they said to him: "Why do you love her more than all of us?" Yeshua answered and said to them, "Why do I not love you like her? 60 When a blind person and one who sees are both together in darkness, they are no different from one another. When the light comes, then the one who sees will see the light, and the one who is blind will remain in darkness.”

[Mk9:14-28xCS] 14 Yeshua walked with Miryam of Magdala, Toma and Filippos while the rest of the students went ahead of them. Coming to the rest of the students who had gone ahead of them, he saw a great multitude around them. 15 Immediately all the multitude, when they saw him, were greatly amazed, and running to him greeted him.

17 One of the multitude said to him, “Rabbioni, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit; 18 and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth, and wastes away. I asked your students to cast it out, and they weren’t able.”

19 He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.”

20 They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth.

[CS] Then he called Miryam of Magdala forward to cast out the mute spirit.

21 She asked the boy’s father, “How long has it been since this has come to him?”

He said, “From childhood.

22 Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us."

23 Miryam of Magdala said to him, “If you can trust, all things are possible to the one who trusts.”

24 Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I trust. Help my untrust!”

25 When Miryam saw that a multitude came running together, she rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!”

26 Having cried out, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, “He is dead.” 27 But Miryam took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose.

28 When Yeshua had come into the house, his students asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?” 29 He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting.”

[Mk9:30-42] 30 They went out from there, and passed through the countryside to Cana, but he didn’t want anyone to know it. 31 For he was teaching his students, and said to them, “I will be handed over to the hands of the authorities, and they will kill me; but I trust on the day of the resurrection of the just I will be raised from the dead by my Mother, Shekhinah.”

32 But they didn’t understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

33 He came to Cana, and when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you arguing among yourselves on the way?”

34 But they were silent, for they had disputed one with another on the way about who was the greatest.

35 He sat down, and called the seven and twelve; and he said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, they shall be last of all, and servant of all.” 36 He took a little child, and set her in the middle of them. Taking her in his arms, he said to them, 37 “Whoever receives one such little child in my name, receives me, and whoever receives me, doesn’t receive me, but the One who sent me.”

38 Yohanan said to him, “Rabbi, we saw someone who doesn’t follow us casting out demons in your name; and we forbade them, because they don’t follow us.”

39 But Yeshua said, “Don’t forbid them, for there is no one who will do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me. 40 For whoever is not against us is on our side. 41 For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you are my student, most certainly I tell you, they will in no way lose their reward. 42 Whoever will cause one of these little ones who trust in me to stumble, it would be better for them if he were thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around thei neck.

[Lk13:1-5] 1 Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans, whose blood Pilatus had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 Yeshua answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way. 4 Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Shiloah (Siloam) fell, and killed them; do you think that they were worse offenders than all the people who dwell in Yerushalayim? 5 I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”

[Lk13:31-34xCS] 31 On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to Yeshua, “Get out of here, and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.” 32 He thanked the Pharisees who had warned him, for they too were awaiting the Kin-dom. And he told his students, “That fox Herod would like to kill me before I complete my mission, just as he did Yohanan, the Immerser. 33 Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet perishes outside of Yerushalayim!’

34 “Yerushalayim, Yerushalayim, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her!”

[Jn4:4-24,27-42xCS] 4 He needed to pass through Shomron (Samaria). 5 So he came to a city of Shomron, called Shehem (Sychar), near the parcel of ground that Yaakov gave to his son, Yosef. 6 Yaakov’s well was there. Yeshua therefore, being tired from his journey, sat down by the well. It was about the noon. 7 A woman of Shomron came to draw water. Yeshua said to her, “Give me a drink.” 8 For his students and had gone away into the city to buy food.

9 The Shomroni (Samaritan) woman therefore said to him, “How is it that you, being a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Shomroni woman?” (For Jews have no dealings with Shomronim.)

10 Yeshua answered her, “If you knew the gift of Adonai, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you the living water of Heaven’s Kin-dom.”

11 The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. So where do you get that living water? 12 Are you greater than our father, Yaakov, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, as did his children, and his livestock?”

13 Yeshua answered her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give them will never thirst again; but the water that I will give them will become in them a well of water springing up into the Kin-dom of Heaven.”

15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I don’t get thirsty, neither come all the way here to draw.”

16 Yeshua said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”

17 The woman answered, “I have no husband.”

Yeshua said to her, “You said well, ‘I have no husband,’ 18 for you have had five husbands; and he whom you now have is not your husband. This you have said truly.”

19 The woman said to him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. 20 Our parents worshiped in this mountain and you Jews say that in Yerushalayim is the place where people ought to worship.”

21 Yeshua said to her, “Woman, trust me, the hour comes, when neither in this mountain, nor in Yerushalayim, will you worship the Mother, but instead in the Kin-dom of Heaven. 22 You worship that which you don’t know. We worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews. 23 But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship Shekhinah in spirit and truth, which are the Kind-dom of Heaven, for the Mother seeks such to be her worshipers. 24 God is Holy Spirit, and those who worship her must worship in spirit and truth, for the Kin-dom of Heaven is at hand.”

27 At this, his men students came. They marveled that he was speaking with a woman; yet no one said, “What are you looking for?” or, “Why do you speak with her?”

28 So the woman left her water pot, and went away into the city, and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything that I did. He announces the Kin-dom of Heaven?”

39 From that city many of the Shomronim trusted because of the word of the woman, who testified, “He told me everything that I did.” 40 So when the Shomronim came to him, they begged him to stay with them. He stayed there two days. 41 Many more trusted because of his word. 42 They said to the woman, “Now we trust, not because of your speaking; for we have heard for ourselves, and know that Yeshua’s Kin-dom of Heaven is at hand and in our midst.”

[Mk8:22-27] 22 He came to Beit Tzaida (Bethsaida). They brought a blind man to him, and begged him to touch him. 23 He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spit on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything.

24 He looked up, and said, “I see people; for I see them like trees walking.”

25 Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He looked intently, and was restored, and saw everyone clearly. 26 He sent him away to his house, saying, “Don’t enter into the village, nor tell anyone in the village.”

27 Yeshua went out, with his students, to the villages of the Plain of Gennesaret south of Kfar Nahum.[Tm43:1-2] 1 On the way his students asked him, “Who are you, that you say these things to us?”

2 He said to them, “From what I say to you, you do not recognize who I am, but rather you have become as the Sadducees—for they love the tree but hate its fruit, and they love the fruit but hate the tree.”

[Tm97:1-3] 1 “Most certainly I tell you, Heaven’s Kin-dom is like a woman who is carrying a jar full of grain. 2 While she was walking on a distant road, the handle of the jar broke, the grain streamed out behind her onto the road. 3 She did not observe it, she had noticed no accident. When she arrived in her house, she set the jar down—she found it empty.

30 He commanded them that they should tell no one that he was the Mashiah. He told them, “You yearn for a deliverer, who will free you from the yoke of the hated foreign usurper, and put an end to the impious Roman rule, and once again establish the kingdom of Yisrael in its place*. I am not he."

[Mk8:31-33] 31 Yeshua began to teach them that as the prophet for the Kin-dom of Heaven he must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the Sadducees, and be killed, but that he would be raised again at the resurrection of the just by the Holy Spirit of Shekhinah.

32 He spoke to them openly. Kefa took him, and began to rebuke him.

33 But he, turning around, and seeing his students, rebuked Kefa, and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you have in mind not the things of Adonai, but the things of humans."

[Lk11:39-41] 39 He answered them, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness. 40 You foolish ones, didn’t he who made the outside make the inside also? 41 But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and behold, all things will be clean to you.

[Mk7:14-16] 14 He called all the multitude to himself, and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand. 15 There is nothing from outside of a person, that going into them can defile them; but the things which proceed out of a person are those that defile them.

16 If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear!”

[Mk7:24-37] 24 From there he arose, and went away into the borders of Tzor and Tzidon. He entered into a house, and didn’t want anyone to know it, but he couldn’t escape notice. 25 For a woman, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet. 26 Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter. 27 But Yeshua said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”

28 But she answered him, “Yes, Sir. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

29 He said to her, “For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter."

30 She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.

31 Again he departed from the borders of Tzor and Tzidon, and came to Caesarea Filippi, through the middle of the region of Phoenicia. 32 They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hands on him. 33 He took him aside from the multitude, privately, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat, and touched his tongue.

34 Looking up to Heaven, he sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!” 35 Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly. 36 He instructed them that they should tell no one, but the more he instructed them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it. 37 They were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear, and the mute speak!”

[Mt12:23-28] 23 All the multitudes were amazed, and said, “Can this be the son of David?” 24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This man does not cast out demons, except by Baal Zebul (Beelzebul), the prince of the demons.”

25 Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? 27 If I by Baal Zebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. 28 But if I by Shekhinah cast out demons, then Heaven’s Kin-dom has come upon you.

[Mk3:28-30] 28 Most certainly I tell you, all sins of the descendants of humanity will be forgiven, including their blasphemies with which they may speak; 29 but whoever may blaspheme against the Holy Spirit Shekhinah never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin.

30 He said this because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”

Yeshua’s Kin-dom of Heaven, Chapter 9

[Mk5:21-24,35-43] 21 When Yeshua had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a great multitude was gathered to him; and he was by the sea. 22 Behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue, Yair by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet, 23 and begged him much, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live.”

24 He went with him, and a great multitude followed him. 35 While he was still on the way, people came from the synagogue ruler’s house saying, “Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Rabbi any more?”

36 But Yeshua, when he heard the message spoken, immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Don’t be afraid, only trust.” 37 He allowed no one to follow him, except Kefa, Miryam of Magdala, and Yohannah. 38 He came to the synagogue ruler’s house, and he saw an uproar, weeping, and great wailing. 39 When he had entered in, he said to them, “Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep.”

40 They ridiculed him. But he, having put them all out, took the father of the child, her mother, and those who were with him, and went in where the child was lying. 41 Taking the child by the hand, he said to her, “Talitha cumi!” which means, being interpreted, “Girl, I tell you, get up!” 42 Immediately the girl rose up and walked, for she was twelve years old. They were overcome with great amazement. 43 He strictly ordered them that no one should know this, and said that something should be given to her to eat.

[Mk6:1-3] 1 He went out from there. He came into his own country, and his students followed him. 2 When the Shabbat had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things?” and, “What is the hokmah (wisdom) that is given to this man, that such mighty works come about by his hands? 3 Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Miryam, and brother of Yaakov, Yoses (Joses), Yehuda (Judah), and Shimon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” They were offended at him.

[Tm31] Yeshua said to them, “No prophet is accepted in his own village, no physician heals those who know them.” [Mk6:5-6] 5 He could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people, and healed them. 6 He marveled because of their unbelief. Then he left the synagogue and found another place to teach.

[Mk3:31-35] 31 His mother, his brothers and his sisters came, and standing outside, they sent to him, calling him. 32 A multitude was sitting around him, and they told him, “Behold, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters are outside looking for you.”

33 He answered them, “Who are my mother, my brothers and my sisters?” 34 Looking around at those who sat around him, he said, “Behold, my mother, my brothers and my sisters! 35 For whoever does the will of the Father, the same is my sister, and my brother, and mother.”

[Tm101] 1 “Whoever does not hate their father and their mother in my way, shall not be able to become a student to me. 2 And whoever does not love their Father and their Mother in my way, shall not be able to become a student to me. 3For my mother bore my body, yet my true Mother the Holy Spirit gave me Life.”

[Lk1:46-55xCS] His mother Miryam and her sister had entered and heard all that Yeshua had said, and his mother open her mouth and proclaimed,

46 “My soul magnifies Hokmah (Wisdom).

47 My spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior,

48 for God has looked at the humble state of her servants.

For behold, from now on, all generations will call us blessed.

49 For she who is mighty has done great things for us.

Holy is her name, Shekhinah.

50 Her mercy is for generations of generations on those who fear her.

51 She has shown strength with her arm.

She has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

52 She has put down princes from their thrones.

And has exalted the lowly.

53 She has filled the hungry with good things.

She has sent the rich away empty.

54 She has given help to Yisrael, her servant, that she might remember mercy,

[Ph36] Thereafter, there were three who always walked with Yeshua: Miryam, his mother, and her sister, and the one from Magdala, who was called his companion. His mother and her sister and his companion were each a Miryam.

The Mustard Seed

In the preceding chapter of Yeshua’s Kin-dom of Heaven, Chapter 8, the Mustard Seed parable was presented. Above are pictured some seven foot tall mustard plants, which can grow up to nine feet tall in Palestine. But as you can see it is a very spindly plant, doesn’t have great branches, is without much foliage for shade and isn’t anything close to a tree. As an annual it doesn’t reach a size even small birds could attempt to use for nesting until after the bird nesting season is over. And yet the parable of the Mustard Seed in all three synoptic gospels describe it as having those features. I modified the parable because I think the synoptic versions are not true to the one Yeshua originally told. Here is why. The mustard plant species are all annual weeds. Every Galilean peasant would have known that the mustard plant was an invasive, noxious weed and would have been either amused or disturbed by the idea of sowing mustard seed in their field. It was such a danger to cropland that there were Roman laws restricting its planting to small gardens for medicinal purposes. So, in general, no one would have been sowing mustard seeds. The parable that Yeshua told probably resembled a shorter form of Mark’s parable without any mention of the seed being sown, great branches or birds lodging under its shadow. So originally the saying was probably describing the weed as greater in the sense of larger but also in the sense of stronger in its ability to out compete the other herbs, and his rural audience would have implicitly understood that without further explanation. With that in mind, here is what the original saying probably was like:

Yeshua said, “How will we liken God’s Kingdom? Or with what parable will we illustrate it? It’s like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it falls in the earth, though it is less than all the seeds that are on the earth, yet when it grows up, it becomes greater than all the herbs.”

The original message Yeshua was teaching was that the Kin-dom is like an invasive weed. It starts from small unnoticed beginnings but it grows rapidly, being stronger than the kingdoms of this world in a subversive weedy way and spreads unstoppably. It is NOT to be a Kingdom or Church of Grandeur or Greatness in the world's eyes. Therefore, in my version I add the description of the weedy behavior to make it explicit:

[Mk4:30-32xCS] 30 He said, “How will we liken Heaven’s Kin-dom? Or with what parable will we illustrate it? 31 It’s like a grain of mustard seed, which, though it is less than all the seeds that are on the earth, 32 yet when it falls in the soil, grows up, and becomes greater than all the herbs, and spreads throughout the field, so that it becomes impossible to rid the field of it.”

The synoptic gospel writers were obviously unfamiliar with the true nature of the mustard plant. So they didn’t realize their embellishments to the original parable made no sense. The parable's basic form is the same in all three synoptic gospels because Matthew and Luke both use Mark as a source, but it becomes embellished a little differently as you go from Mark to Matthew and Mark to Luke. Mark adds the bits about the mustard weed having “branches” and birds lodging in its shade. Then in Matthew’s version a man is actually sowing the seed in his field and the plant becomes a tree and the birds lodge in its branches, not under it! Lastly, in Luke’s version the man doesn’t plant the seed in a field he plants it in his garden and it becomes a large tree! Here are Mark, Matthew and Luke’s versions of the parable for comparison with one another.

[Mark4:30-32] 30 He said, “How will we liken God’s Kingdom? Or with what parable will we illustrate it? 31 It’s like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, though it is less than all the seeds that are on the earth, 32 yet when it is sown, grows up, and becomes greater than all the herbs, and puts out great branches, so that the birds of the sky can lodge under its shadow.”

[Mt13:31-31] 31 He set another parable before them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field; 32 which indeed is smaller than all seeds. But when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches.”

[Lk13:18-19] 18 He said, “What is God’s Kingdom like? To what shall I compare it? 19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and put in his own garden. It grew, and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky live in its branches.”

[Mt13:3-9, 24-30] 3 He spoke to them many things in parables, saying, “Behold, a farmer went out to sow. 4 As she sowed, some seeds fell by the roadside, and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Others fell on rocky ground, where they didn’t have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of earth. 6 When the sun had risen, they were scorched. Because they had no root, they withered away.

7 Others fell among thorns. The thorns grew up and choked them. 8 Others fell on good soil, and yielded fruit: some one hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty. 9 Anyone who has ears to hear, let them hear.”

24 He set another parable before them, saying, “The Kin-dom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field, 25 but while he slept, his enemy came and sowed darnel weeds also among the wheat, and went away. 26 But when the blade sprang up and produced fruit, then the darnel weeds appeared also. 27 The servants of the householder came and said to him, ‘"Master", didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where did these darnel weeds come from?’

28 “He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’

“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them up?’

29 “But he said, ‘No, lest perhaps while you gather up the darnel weeds, you root up the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the harvest time I will tell the reapers, “First, gather up the darnel weeds, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”

[Mt13:33,44-50,36,51-52] 33 He spoke another parable to them. “The Kin-dom of Heaven is like yeast, which a woman took, and hid in three bushels of meal, until it was all leavened.”

44 “Again, the Kin-dom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found, and hid. In his joy, he goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.

45 “Again, the Kin-dom of Heaven is like a woman who is a merchant seeking fine pearls, 46 who having found one pearl of great price, she went and sold all that she had, and bought it.

47 “Again, the Kin-dom of Heaven is like a dragnet, that was cast into the sea, and gathered some fish of every kind, 48 which, when it was filled, they drew up on the beach. They sat down, and gathered the good into containers, but the bad they threw away. 49 So will it be in the end of the world. The angels will come and separate the wicked from among the righteous, 50 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.”

36 Then Yeshua sent the multitudes away, and went into the house. his students came to him. 51 Yeshua said to them, “Have you understood all these things?” They answered him, “Yes, Rabbi.”

52 He said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has been made a student in the Kin-dom of Heaven is like a person who is a householder, who brings out of their treasure new and old things.”

Who Is Hokmah/Wisdom?

Hokmah/Wisdom and Yeshua

In Yeshua’s Kin-dom of Heaven, Chapter 7, Matthew 11:16-19, Yeshua refers to a mysterious figure named Hokmah, which in English is Wisdom. Here again is the passage:

[Mt11:16-19] 16 “But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions 17 and say,

‘We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance.

We mourned for you, and you didn’t lament.’

18 For Yohanan came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19 I came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But Hokmah (Wisdom) is justified by her children.

Hokmah/Wisdom was known to Yeshua through the Books of Job, Proverbs, Sirach and the Wisdom of Solomon in the Septuagint. The Septuagint is a Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible and the Deuterocanonical books which were written in the time between the Hebrew Bible and Christian Scriptures. Hokmah/Wisdom is most completely described in the Wisdom of Solomon. Here is chapter 10 from Wisdom. I’ve placed the names of the persons referred to in brackets rather than footnotes:

[Wisdom10:1-21]

1 She [Wisdom] guarded to the end the first formed father of the world, that was created alone [Adam],

And delivered him out of his own transgression,

2 And gave him strength to get dominion over all things.

3 But when an unrighteous man fell away from Her in his anger [Cain],

He perished himself in the rage wherewith he killed his brother [Abel].

4 And when for his cause the earth was drowning with a flood,

Wisdom again saved it,

Guiding the righteous man's course by a poor piece of wood [Noah].

5 Moreover, when nations consenting together in wickedness had been confounded [the Tower of Babel],

She knew the righteous man, and preserved him blameless to God,

And kept him strong when his heart yearned toward his child [Abraham].

6 While the ungodly were perishing, She delivered a righteous man [Lot],

When he fled from the fire that descended out of heaven on the region of the five cities [Sodom & Gommorah].

7 To whose wickedness a smoking waste still bears witness,

And plants bearing fair fruit that comes not to ripeness;

Yes and a distrustful soul has a memorial there, a pillar of salt still standing [Lot’s wife].

8 For having passed wisdom by,

Not only were they disabled from recognizing the things which are good,

But they also left behind them by their life a monument of their folly;

To the end that wherein they stumbled they might fail even to be unseen:

9 But Wisdom delivered out of troubles those that waited on Her.

10 When a righteous man [Jacob] was a fugitive from a brother's wrath [Esau], She guided him in straight paths;

She showed him God's kingdom, and gave him knowledge of holy things;

She prospered him in his toils, and multiplied the fruits of his labor;

11 When in their covetousness men dealt hardly with him,

She stood by him and made him rich;

12 She guarded him from enemies,

And from those that lay in wait She kept him safe,

And over his sore conflict She watched as judge,

That he might know that godliness is more powerful than everyone.

13 When a righteous man was sold [Joseph], She forsook him not,

But from sin of his brethren She delivered him;

She went down with him into a dungeon,

14 And in bonds She left him not,

Till She brought him the scepter of a kingdom,

And authority over those that dealt tyrannously with him;

She showed them also to be false that had mockingly accused him,

And gave him eternal glory.

15 She delivered a holy people and a blameless seed from a nation of oppressors.

16 She entered into the soul of a servant of the Lord [Moses],

And withstood terrible kings in wonders and signs.

17 She rendered to holy men a reward of their toils;

She guided them along a marvelous way,

And became to them a covering in the day-time,

And a flame of stars through the night.

18 She brought them over the Red sea,

And led them through much water;

19 But their enemies She drowned,

And out of the bottom of the deep She cast them up.

20 Therefore the righteous spoiled the ungodly;

And they sang praise to your holy name, O Lord,

And extolled with one accord your hand that fought for them:

21 Because Wisdom opened the mouth of the dumb,

And made the tongues of babes to speak clearly.

As you can see Hokmah/Wisdom and God's actions are the same. As Elizabeth A. Johnson states in She Who Is:

“Sophia (Greek for Wisdom) is a female personification of God’s own being in creative and saving involvement in the world. The chief reason for arriving at this interpretation is the functional equivalence between deeds of Sophia and those of the biblical God”¹

So Hokmah/Wisdom is the female personification of the Spirit of God, and as I said before the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, is God. The Spirit aspect of God emphasizes her presence and action in salvation history. The Jews used circumlocutions around directly “encountering” God, at least initially, by conceptualizing her working through semi-divine manifestations or beings like spirit or angels. The Christians went the other way and fragmented the interior life of God into three “persons,” although they retained angels and seraphim as well.

I did not use the name Hokmah/Wisdom for the Holy Spirit because, at the time of Yeshua, that would have been recognized to be Shekhinah. Hokmah may or may not have been seen as the same being at that time. Jewish concepts of God and the heavenly beings were evolving over time and, as noted above, these heavenly beings were often circumlocutions for God.

Holy Spirit Wisdom and Saint Hildegard of Bingen

Here I would like to share two beautiful and insightful poems about the Holy Spirit Wisdom written by Hildegard of Bingen, (1098 – 1179 CE), who was a German woman religious, Benedictine abbess, Christian mystic, visionary, writer, composer, philosopher, artist, and polymath.

The Holy Spirit as Caritas (Grace/World Soul)

She is Divine Wisdom. She watches over all people and all things in heaven

and on earth, being of such radiance and brightness that, for the measureless

splendor that shines in Her, you cannot gaze on Her face or on the garments

gentle in goodness as the sunshine. Hence, in Her terror and Her gentleness,

She is incomprehensible to mortals, because of the dread radiance of divinity

in Her face and the brightness that dwells in Her as the robe of Her beauty.

She is like the Sun, which none can contemplate in its blazing face or in the

glorious garment of its rays. For She is with all and in all, and of beauty so

great in Her mystery that no one could know how sweetly She bears with

people, and with what unfathomable mercy She spares them.

The Holy Spirit as Sapientia (Wisdom/Creatrix)

creation came to be, and I quickened all things with my breath so that not one

of them is mortal in its kind; for I am Life. Indeed I am Life, whole and

virile strength; but all that lives has its root in Me. For Wisdom is the root

whose blossom is the resounding Word....

I flame above the beauty of the fields to signify the earth -- the matter from

which humanity was made. I shine in the waters to indicate the soul, for, as

water suffuses the whole earth, the soul pervades the whole body. I burn in

the sun and the moon to denote Wisdom, and the stars are the innumerable

words of Wisdom.

Hokmah/Wisdom, the Fullness of God


Sophia Wisdom by Hildegard of Bingen

In concluding this post, I want again to quote Elizabeth Johnson and make a final and most important point. First the quotation:

"We must be very clear about this. Speech about God in female metaphors does not

mean that God has a feminine dimension, revealed by Mary or other women. Nor does

the use of male metaphors mean that God has a masculine dimension, revealed by Jesus

or other men; or an animal dimension, revealed by lions or great mother birds; or a

mineral dimension, which corresponds to naming God as a rock. Images and names of

God … intend to evoke the whole.²

… The point for our interest is that the female deity is not the expression of the feminine

dimension of the divine, but the expression of the fullness of divine power and care

shown in a female image. The mystery of God transcends all images but can be spoken

about equally well and poorly in concepts taken from male or female reality.^3”

And here is my point. When we refer to the Holy Spirit⁴using a female image we are expressing the fullness of the divine. Just as when we talk of the Father or Yeshua Mashiah, in each case we are talking of the fullness of the divine not a dimension and certainly not a mathematical third of the Triune God. So the fullness of God is found in the Holy Spirit Shekhinah, also known as Hokmah/Wisdom or Sophia/Wisdom.

[Mt10:16-17,19-20xCS] 16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. 17 But beware of evil people. 19 But don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say. 20 For it is not you who speak, but Shekhinah who speaks in you.

[Mt10:26-31] “26 Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known. 27 What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops. 28 Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear the one who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gei Hinnom.

[Mk6:30-42xCS] 30 The messengers gathered themselves together to Yeshua, and they told him all things, whatever they had done, and whatever they had taught. 31 He said to them, “You come apart into a deserted place, and rest awhile.” For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. 32 They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves. 33 The multitudes saw them going, and many recognized him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to him. 34 Yeshua came out, saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things. 35 When it was late in the day, his students came to him, and said, “This place is deserted, and it is late in the day. 36 Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages, and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat.”

37 But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.”

They asked him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii (about 8 months wages for a farm laborer) worth of bread, and give them something to eat?”

38 He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go see.”

When they knew, they said, “Five, and two fish.”

39 He commanded them that everyone should sit down in groups on the green grass. 41 He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to Heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves, and he gave to his students to set before them, and he divided the two fish among them all. 42 They all ate, and were filled.

[Mk2:1-14xCS] 1 When he entered again into Kfar Nahum after some days, it was heard that he was in the house. 2 Immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even around the door; and he spoke the word to them. 3 Four people came, carrying a paralytic to him. 4 When they could not come near to him for the crowd, they removed the roof where he was. When they had broken it up, they let down the mat that the paralytic was lying on. 5 Yeshua, seeing their trust, said to the paralytic, “Daughter, your sins are forgiven you.”

6 But there were some of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, 7 “Why does this man speak blasphemies like that? Who can forgive sins but Adonai alone?”

8 Immediately Yeshua, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you reason these things in your hearts? 9 Which is easier, to tell the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven;’ or to say, ‘Arise, and take up your bed, and walk?’ 10 But that you may know that I have Shekhinah’s power and authority on earth to heal and forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic— 11 “I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house.”

12 She arose, and immediately took up the mat, and went out in front of them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified Shekhinah, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”

14 As he passed by, he saw Tavita (Tabitha), a prostitute, soliciting for men, and he said to her, “Follow me.” And she arose and followed him. [Tm61.1-6] 1 Yeshua was reclining at table with Tavita the prostitute and said, "Two will rest on a bed: the one will die, and the other will live." 2 She said, "Who are you, man, that you have come up on my couch and eaten from my table like someone special?" 3 Yeshua said to her, "I am one who lives undivided for the Kin-dom of Heaven. 4 I was given some of the things of my Father and my Mother." 5 Tavita said, "I am your student!" 6 He then said, "Therefore I say, if one is undivided, they will be filled with light, but if one is divided, then they will be filled with darkness."

[Mk2:15-17] 15 They were reclining at the table in her house, and many prostitutes, tax collectors and sinners sat down with Yeshua and his students, for there were many, and they followed him. 16 The scribes and the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners, prostitutes and tax collectors, said to his students, “Why is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors, prostitutes and sinners?” 17 When Yeshua heard it, he said to them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” [Mt9:13] But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’”

[Mt8:5-11,13xCS] 5 A centurion came to him, asking him, 6 and saying, “Sir, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented.” 7 Yeshua said to him, “I will come and heal him.” 8 The centurion answered, “Sir, I’m not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and tell another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and tell my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 10 When Yeshua heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, “Most certainly I tell you, I haven’t found so great a trust, not even in Yisrael (Israel). 11 I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Avraham and Sarayahu, Yitzhak and Rivkah, Yaakov and Lea, Rahel, Bilha and Zilpa* in the Kin-dom of Heaven,

13 Yeshua said to the centurion, “Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have trusted.” His servant was healed in that hour.

*(Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca, Jacob and Leah, his first wife, Rachel, his second wife, and his concubines, Bilha and Zilpa, all of whom were mothers to the twelve tribes of Yisrael.)

[Mt8:18-22] 19 A scribe came, and said to him, “Rabbi, I will follow you wherever you go.” 20 Yeshua said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but I have nowhere to lay my head.” 21 Another of his students said to him, “Master, allow me first to go and bury my father.” 22 But Yeshua said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”

[Tm98:1-3;✡Judith13:1-10] 1 He then said, “Deciding to follow me is like a certain woman who wanted to kill a powerful man. 2 In her own house she drew her sword and stuck it into the wall in order to find out whether her hand could carry through. 3 Then she slew the powerful man.”

[Mk3:1-5] 1 He entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there who had his hand withered. [Naz10] The man kneeled before Yeshua and said to him, ‘I was a mason and earned my livelihood with my hands; I beg you, Yeshua, to restore me to my health that I may not with shame have to beg for my bread.’ [Mk3:2-5] 2 They watched him, whether he would heal him on the Shabbat day, that they might accuse him. 3 He said to the man who had his hand withered, “Stand up.” 4 He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Shabbat day to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?” But they were silent. 5 When he had looked around at them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their hearts, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored as healthy as the other. [Mk2:27-28] 27 And he said to them, “The Shabbat was made for humans, not humans for the Shabbat; 28 and so the Shekhinah has made me master even of the Shabbat.”

[Mk3:7-8,13-15] 7 Yeshua withdrew to the sea with his students, and a great multitude followed him from the Galil, from Yehuda, 8 from Yerushalayim, from Idumaea, beyond the Yarden, and those from around Tzor and Tzidon (Tyre and Sidon). A great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came to him. 9 He spoke to his students that a little boat should stay near him because of the crowd, so that they wouldn’t press on him. 10 For he had healed many, so that as many as had diseases pressed on him that they might touch him. 11 The unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, fell down before him and cried out.

13 He went up into the mountain, and called to himself those whom he wanted, and they went to him. [14xCS;SJC1] He appointed seven women and twelve men, that they might be with him, and that he might send them out to preach, 15 and to have authority to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons: [SJC1] The seven women he appointed were:

Extracanonical Scriptures

The word "canon" is derived from the Greek word for a carpenter’s measuring rule; so a canonical text is considered straight and true. The orthodox Christian Scriptures consist of 27 canonical texts. It took until the 4th century for the proto-orthodox* church to finalize the canon of the Christian Scriptures. However, as early as the end of the 2^nd century the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were already being cited as the four pillars of the proto-orthodox church. This was because of their widespread acceptance and use by many Christian communities. There were other communities that used different gospels that the proto-orthodox church did not accept for various reasons; some were considered to be heretical, others were in the wrong language, and others were just considered superfluous to the four we ended up with. These writings that were not included in the canon have usually been called noncanonical which has a negative implication, and therefore I prefer the more neutral term extracanonical. The diversity of early Christian thought, understanding and worship found in these texts can give us further insight into the historical Yeshua (Jesus)and post-resurrection communities that formed after him. Many of these extracanonical documents were lost or purposely destroyed by the proto-orthodox church. It must be understood that what we now consider orthodox Christianity is a Greco-Roman interpretation of Yeshua of Natzaret (Nazareth) and would have appeared alien to him as a Jew. The group closest to Yeshua, and therefore his own Jewish understanding of himself, were those Jewish followers of Yeshua Mashiah (Christ) in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) led by Yeshua’s brother, Yohanan (James) the Just. This group of 1st century Mashianic Jews* fled to Pella east of the Yarden River after Yerushalayim was sacked by the Romans in 70 CE. They came to be known as the Ebionites and/or Nazarenes and were denounced as heretics by the 2nd century because they held to observance of the Torah (as Yeshua did) and saw Yeshua as Mashiah and Son of God but did not equate that with him being God! So these gospels that did not make it into the canon of the proto-orthodox church offer us important information about the broader range of early Christianity and therefore, possibly about Yeshua Mashiah himself. And that is why I have judiciously used them in this Gospel.

[Mt7:1-29] 1 “Don’t judge, so that you won’t be judged. 2 For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your friend’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye? 4 Or how will you tell your friend, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye;’ and behold, the beam is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your friend’s eye.

6 “Don’t give that which is holy to the dogs, neither throw your pearls before the pigs, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

7 “Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives. The one who seeks finds. Do you gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. 18 A good tree can’t produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that doesn’t grow good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by your fruits you will be known.

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. 21 Not everyone who cries out to Heaven, ‘Adonai or Shekhinah,’ will enter into the Kin-dom of Heaven; but the one who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven. 22 Many cry out to Heaven in that day, ‘Adonai and Shekhinah, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’ 23 Then the Father will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’

24 “Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken them to a wise person, who built their house on a rock. 25 The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it didn’t fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of mine, and doesn’t do them will be like a foolish person, who built their house on the sand. 27 The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”

Yeshua’s Kin-dom of Heaven, Chapter 4

[Mt6:1-34] 1 “Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before others, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Mother who is the Holy Spirit. 2 Therefore when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from others. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. 3 But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does, 4 so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Mother who sees in secret will reward you openly.

5 “When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by others. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father and Mother who are in secret, and your Mother and Father who see in secret will reward you openly. 7 In praying, don’t use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. 8 Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father and Mother know what things you need, before you ask them.

9 Pray like this:

‘Our Father in Heaven, may your name be kept holy.

10 Let your Kin-dom come.
Let your will be done, as in Heaven, so on earth.

11 Holy Spirit Mother, give us today our daily bread.

12 Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.

13 Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Amen.’

14 “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your Mother the Holy Spirit will also forgive you. 15 But if you don’t forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Mother forgive your trespasses.

16 “Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by others to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. 17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face; 18 so that you are not seen by others to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.

19 “Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; 21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

[Tm41=Mk4:25] "Whoever has something in hand will receive more, and whoever has nothing will be deprived of even the little they have. [Tm70.1-2] 1 That which you have will save you if you bring it forth from yourselves. 2 That which you do not have within you will kill you if you do not have it within you. [Tm67] Whoever knows everything but themselves, lacks everything. [Tm5:1-2] 1 Recognize what is in your sight, and that which is hidden from you will become plain to you. 2 For there is nothing hidden which will not become manifest.

[Tm22:1-4xCS] 1 Yeshua saw infants being suckled. 2 He said to his students, "These infants being suckled are like those who enter the Kin-dom." 3 They said to him, "Shall we then, as children, enter the Kin-dom? 4 He said, “Most certainly I tell you, to enter the Kin-dom you must suckle at the breasts of the Holy Spirit, for she is your true Mother.”

[Mt6:25] Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your Mother the Holy Spirit feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?

27 “Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to their lifespan? 28 Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin, 29 yet I tell you that even Shlomah (Solomon) and his wife Naamah in all their glory were not dressed like one of these. 30 But if your Mother Shekhinah so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t she much more clothe you, you of little faith?

31 “Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your Holy Spirit Mother knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first Heaven’s Kin-dom, and righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. [Tm82] Whoever who is near me is near the fire, and whoever who is far from me is far from the Kin-dom. [Mk9:49-50] 49 For everyone will be salted with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt. 50 Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.

[Mt5:14a] “You are the light of the world. [Tm32=+Mt5:14b] A fortified city built upon a high mountain cannot fall, nor can it be hidden. [Mt5:15] Neither do you light a lamp, and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. [Tm24:3] There is light within a person of light, and they light up the whole world. If they do not shine, there is darkness. [Mt5:16] Even so, let your light shine before all; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.

21 “You have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not murder;’ and ‘Whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ 22 But I tell you, that everyone who is angry with his sister or brother will be in danger of the judgment; and whoever says to his sister or brother, ‘Empty-headed!’ will be in danger of the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of Gei Hinnom (Gehenna, i.e. Hell).

23 “If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother or sister has anything against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift.

27 “You have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’ but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a man or woman to lust after them has committed adultery with them already in their heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. [Mt5:42] Give to the one who asks you, and don’t turn away the one who desires to borrow from you.

[Mt5:43-48] 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father who is in Heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? [Luke 3:1-2] 1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilatus (Pilate) being governor of Yehuda (Judea), and Herod being tetrarch of the Galil (Galilee), 2 in the high priesthood of Hannan (Annas) and Kayfa (Caiaphas), the word of Adonai came to Yohanan (John), the son of Zeharyahu (Zacharias), in the wilderness.

[Mk1:4-5,9] 4 Yohanan came immersing in the wilderness and proclaiming the immersion of repentance for forgiveness of sins. 5 All the country of Yehuda and all those of Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) went out to him. They were immersed by him in the Yarden (Jordan) River, confessing their sins. 9 In those days, Yeshua came from Natzerat (Nazareth) of the Galil, and was immersed by Yohanan in the Yarden.

[GHeb2:1-3xCS] 1 And it came to pass that when Yeshua had come up out of the water, the Holy Spirit Shekhinah descended upon him and rested on him and said to him: 2 “My son, in all the prophets was I waiting for you that you should come and I might rest in you. 3 For you are my rest; you are my first-begotten Human Child, the prophet of my Kin-dom.” .”

[Mk1:12-13] 12 Immediately Shekinah drove him out into the wilderness. 13 He was there in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels were serving him. [GHeb3xCS] After his time in the desert Yeshua said, “Even so did my Mother, the Holy Spirit, take me by one of my hairs and carry me away on to Har Tavor (Mount Tabor).” There he was refreshed and restored from his fast.

[Mk1:14-15] 14 Now after Yohanan was taken into custody, Yeshua came into the Galil, proclaiming the Good News of Heaven’s Kin-dom, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and Heaven’s Kin-dom is at hand! Repent and trust in the Good News.

1 ‘The Spirit of God is on me;

because Shekhinah has anointed me to preach good news to the humble.

She has sent me to bind up the broken hearted,

to proclaim liberty to the captives,

and release to those who are bound;

and the day of vengeance of our Shekhinah;

to comfort all who mourn;

3 to provide for those who mourn in Tziyon (Zion),

to give to them a garland for ashes,

the oil of joy for mourning,

the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

that he may be glorified.’”

[Mk1:16-18xCS; Lk8:2-3] 16 Passing along through the town of Magdala, on the Lake of Galil, he saw Miryam of Magdala (Mary Magdalene) at the fish market she owned, talking to Yohannah (Joanna), the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s household, while their servants attended to their business. 17 And Yeshua said to them, “Come after me and I will make you into managers of Heaven’s Kin-dom.” 18 And at once they left their business and followed him.

[Mk1:16-20] 16 Passing along by the sea of the Galil, he saw Shimon (Simon) and Andreas (Andrew), the brother of Shimon, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 17 Yeshua said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for people.” 18 Immediately they left their nets and followed him.

19 Going on a little further from there, he saw Yaakov (James), the son of Zavdai (Zebedee), and Yohanan, his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets. 20 Immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zavdai, in the boat with the hired servants and went after him.

[Mk1:16-18xCS; Mk15:40; Mt27:56] 16 As he was leaving through the outskirts of the town of Magdala, on the Lake of Galil, he saw Shlomit (Salome), the wife of Zavdai and mother of Yaakov and Yohanan, doing wash with her house keeper. 17 Yeshua said to her, “Come after me and I will make you into a homemaker of Heaven’s Kin-dom.” 18 And at once she left the care of her home to her housekeeper and followed him.

[Mk1:21-23,25-45xCS] 21 They went into Kfar Nahum (Capernaum), and, immediately on the Shabbat (Sabbath) day, he entered into the synagogue and taught. 22 They were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority and not as the scribes. 23 Immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out.

25 Yeshua rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet and come out of him!”

26 The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.

27 They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!” 28 The report of him went out immediately everywhere into all the region of the Galil and its surrounding area.

29 Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Shimon and Andreas, with Miryam of Magdala and Yohannah. 30 Now Shimon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and immediately they told him about her. 31 He came and took her by the hand and raised her up. The fever left her, and she served them.

32 At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick and those who were possessed by demons. 33 All the city was gathered together at the door. 34 He healed many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons.

35 Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out and departed into a deserted place and prayed there. 36 Simon and those who were with him followed after him, 37 and they found him and told him, “Everyone is looking for you.”

38 He said to them, “Let’s go elsewhere into the next towns that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason.” 39 He went into their synagogues throughout all the Galil, preaching and casting out demons.

40 A leper came to him, begging him, kneeling down to him, and saying to him, “If you want to, you can make me clean.”

41 Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him, “I want to. Be made clean.” 42 When he had said this, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was made clean. 43 Yeshua strictly warned him and immediately sent him out 44 and said to him, “See you say nothing to anybody, but go show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing the things which Moshe commanded, for a testimony to them.”

45 But he went out and began to proclaim it much and to spread about the matter, so that Yeshua could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places, and they came to him from everywhere.

1 In the beginning was the Holy Spirit Shekhinah (The Presence),

and the Holy Spirit was with God, and the Holy Spirit was God.

2 She was in the beginning with Adonai (The Lord).

3 All things were made through her.

Without her was not anything made that has been made.

4 In her was life, and the life was the light of humans.

5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.

9 The true light that enlightens everyone was in the world.

14 The Holy Spirit settled upon a human child who lived among us.

We saw the glory, such glory
as of the first-begotten Human Child of the Holy Spirit Mother and the Heavenly Father,
full of grace and truth.

[JS4:13-14xCS] He showed the holy transformation beyond all previous reckoning,
becoming for us the very Face of God.

[Jn1:16,12,17-18xCS] 16 From the Human Child's fullness we all received grace upon grace.

Ancient Gospel Texts

This 4th century CE Codex Sinacticus, Gospel of Matthew, Greek text is part of one of the oldest complete Christian Scriptures existing. Although the gospels are "dated" as being written in the second half of the 1st century CE, no nearly complete physical manuscripts exist until the 4th century. All the texts have variations from one another, ranging from scribal errors and omissions to actual substantial variations in the narratives. The scriptural traditions of early Christianity were diverse and varied, even within an "established" text like a gospel. The oldest gospel fragment contains 18 lines from the Gospel of John and the papyrus is dated to 125 CE.
