Kanlungan - Noel Cabangon

2012-03-08T05:49:00.000-08:00

McDonalds Philippines Commercial "First Love" Huling El Bimbo

This was a background music of McDonald's old TV commercial. It was sung by a Pilipino artist I admire, together with the rest of the artists who use their music in declaring love for the nation. I find Noel Cabangon as a nationalist artist. He was the composer of the song Tatsulok, popularized by another Pilipino artist Bamboo.

I tried to translate this song in English, in the nearest possible translation I can think of. It was a challenge to translate the word "panahon" because in tagalog (or Filipino dialect) the word either means "time" or "weather". I found the former to be most fitting translation for the song.

I was still living in Quezon city when I first saw this artist. I came to appraciate him more when our parish, Sacred Heart of Jesus, was able to invite Noel during a show or concert of all the church choirs. Two of my closests friends worked with the parish and that is where we go to during Sundays in Kamuning. My friend and I watched the concert, staged inside the church. The presentation was great!

Noel Cabangon sang this song live accompanied by his own guitar. It was really marvelous. There I learned that prior to being a popular singer, he used to be a parishoner of that church and he spent most of his childhood days in Kamuning area. Perhaps, he was even referring to Kamuning, as his "cradle" when he sang this song.

I am not really sure but one thing is guaranteed: he is a good artist and it's too hard not to admire him.

In 2004, one song did not only wet the nation's appetite for hamburgers, but also became the anthem for the new OPM acoustic movement. The song "Kanlungan" or more popularly known as "Pana-panahon", became an instant radio smash and was included in every "acoustic" compilation albums released during that year. However, unknown to a lot of people, the gentle voice behind the song is no flash in the pan. The singer-songwriter, Noel Cabangion, has been around since the mid-eighties. In his college days, Noel became part of Buklod or the Bukluran ng Mapagpalayang Musiko. It is through Buklod that Cabangon established loyal followers. His music speak of the many artistic, social and political advocacies he carries as a member of Akbayan, Amnesty International and Greenpeace. Noel doesn't just sing purely for entertainment. He believes that his talent is a tool to generate awareness on just about any issue, may it be political, environmental or social. Respected by his peers and revered by the new generation of rock musicians, Noel is recognized as one of the most influential figures in the Pinoy music scene, in fact one of his past hits with Buklod, "Tatsulok" was covered by Bamboo.

Now signed to Universal Records, Noel Cabangon takes the sonic road trip down memory lane, with his brand new album aptly titled "Byahe". The 15-track CD features Noel's heartfelt rendition of OPM classics from the seventies and eighties plus 3 original tracks, including his collaborations with Chito Miranda of Parokya Ni Edgar and Aia De Leon of Imago. Produced by Noel Cabangon and Ito Rapadas, "Byahe" will further establish Noel as a force to be reckoned with in the local music industry.

Fra Lippo Lippi - Beauty And Madness (with lyrics)

2012-03-07T06:01:00.003-08:00

Yeah!

I've been busy with so many things, I am overwhelmed!

Our song for the day is a song I never thought I would be singing when things are upbeat, relationships are at its peak and hearts are so filled with contentment.

I have always blogged about this special person to me, who fortunately is the one I want to say sorry with. I cannot forget the time she was crying because of me. It was such a giant guilt freezing my soul that is grabbing me back to that past.

It is alright to go back to the past as long as you already know where you are heading in the future. Yes, I have already focused myself into the future. I have already taken a few steps into stabilizing that future that is why I have all the guts now to look back.

I just want to say sorry! She may not be the most beautiful girl you have seen or you may still have to see but if you happen to see the most beautiful girl in the world, tell her I'm sorry.

If You Asked me To - Celine Dion

2012-03-06T05:54:00.001-08:00

Another Celine Dion song for you today... this month of LOVE!

I have always loved Celine Dion songs and as much as I want to sing like her, that will remain a goal for now. I am working on it, ok? (LOL) Here are my previous posts:

Water From the Moon
My Heart Will Go On

I just saw the movie trailer of ABS-CBN's Unofficially yours from youtube. It's such an interesting movie, I think I want to see it when it's shown here in the province.

I fell like talking about love again. It's the "love fever" you know!

I was once in a situation that love is in-existent. I didn't know what it meant and how to define it. I still cannot defined it til now but I already have an experience of it. I didn't know how to give importance to a person. I didn't know it would matter if I do some favor for them or not. It wouldn't really matter to me if I fail to talk to them or at least how they feel.

I thought love has to be confined with one person and I haven't found that person yet. When I did, well, my world revolved around them. Everything was towards that person. I gave everything to that person to the neglect of the most special people in my life - my family!

That was the past. Now, my world is my family with a bonus and I don't think there's more I'd ask for when it comes to my love, my inspiration, my life.

Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko - Noel Cabangon

2012-03-05T05:32:00.000-08:00

Noel Cabangon, one of the Philippines' most respected singer-songwriters around today, with his single Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko. One of those bright and touching love songs from the Philippines, “Kahit Maputi na ang Buhok Ko” (Even When My Hair Goes White) was composed by the Filipino composer Rey Valera in1977, and became part of what was called the Manila Sound genre. The genre was at its height in the early 1970s and got out of style in the early 80s, as it probably became an escape for Filipinos to forget the dark side of the Marcos regime.

Such songs show a glimpse of “damdaming Pilipino” as it also was so in the Kundiman genre. This particular rendition of the song was sung by Noel Cabangon.

Halik - Kamikazee Lyrics

2012-03-01T19:05:00.000-08:00

Kumupas na

Lambing sa yong mga mata

Nagtataka kung bakit yakap mo'y 'di na nadarama

May mali ba akong nagawa? Tila nag-iba ang mga kilos mo at salita

Bakit kaya?

Parang hindi ka na masaya

Ika'y biglang natauhan

Umalis kaagad ng hindi nagpapaalam

Ang sabi ko hindi kita mamimiss

Hanggang kelan ito matitiis

Ika'y biglang natauhan

Umalis kaagad ng wala man lang paalam

Pag nawala doon lang mamimiss

Hanggang kelan ito matitiis

[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/k/kamikazee/halik.html ]

Alam ko na

Magaling lang ako sa umpisa

Umasa ka pa saakin

Mga pangakong nauwi lang sa wala

Nasayang lang ang iyong pagtitiyaga

Wala ka nga pala

At puro lang ako salita

Kaya pala

Pag-gising ko wala ka na

Ika'y biglang natauhan

Umalis kaagad ng hindi nagpapaalam

Ang sabi ko hindi kita mamimiss

Hanggang kelan ito matitiis

Ika'y biglang natauhan

Umalis kaagad ng wala man lang paalam

Pag nawala doon lang mamimiss

Hanggang kelan ito matitiis

Ika'y biglang natauhan

Umalis kaagad ng hindi nagpapaalam

Ang sabi ko hindi kita mamimiss

Hanggang kelan ito matitiis

Ngayon ko lang natutunan

Nasubukang mabuhay ng para bang may kulang

Pag nawala doon lang mamimiss

Paalam sa halik mong matamis

These quotes bring out some true feelings of the people who use dance as an art to express themselves. They also signify the importance of dance as it has evolved over the ages. These also signify the power of dance in some cases.

Dancing is for the most part attended with many amorous smiles, wanton compliments, unchaste kisses, scurrilous songs and sonnets, effeminate music, lust-provoking attire, ridiculous love pranks, all of which savour only of sensuality, of raging fleshly lusts. Therefore it is wholly to be abandoned of all good Christians. Dancing serves no necessary use, no profitable, laudable or pious end at all. It is used only from the inbred pravity, vanity, wantoness, incontinency, pride, profaneness or madness of men's depraved natures. Therefore it must needs be unlawful unto Christians. The way to Heaven is too steep, too narrow for men to dance in and keep revel rout. No way is large or smooth enough for capering roisters, for jumping, skipping, dancing dames but that broad, beaten, pleas ant road that leads to Hell. The gate of Heaven is too narrow for whole rounds, whole troupes of dancers to march in together.

Nick DeMoura -KubSkoutz-Mirror -Lil Wayne Feat Bruno Mars

2012-02-23T06:23:00.000-08:00

Music is the art of thinking of sounds.

Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without.
Music is the universal language of mankind.
Music is the soul of language.
Most people live and die with their music still unplayed. They never dare to try.
Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.
Music is only love looking for words.
When the music changes, so does the dance.
Without music life would be an error.
Music is an outburst of the soul.
I’ve never known a musician who regretted being one. Whatever deceptions life may have in store for you, music itself is not going to let you down.
Where words fail, music speaks.
He who cannot dance will say: The drum is bad.
If you can talk, you can sing. If you can walk, you can dance.
Dance is for everybody. I believe that the dance came fro the people and that it should always be delivered back to the people.
It is true of all great artists that the more you see, the more you want to see.
Take a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons, and you will find that it is to the soul what the water bath is to the body.
After the silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, e dance for hopes, we dance for screams, we are the dancers, we create the dreams.
Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it a rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.
To stop the flow of music would be like the stopping of time itself, incredible and inconceivable.

Dance can not be described by any single definition. It can take up many meanings. It can be thought of as an artistic form of nonverbal communication. In a more precise definition generally refers to human movement either used as a form of expression (see also body language) or presented in a social, spiritual or performance setting. Dance can be used to express one’s feelings as well as it can be thought of an art which can be used to communicate.

This video had caught my eyes................ isn't it nice to love music.... to let your body flow with the rhythm .... to feel the emotions through its melody..... :)

Music is what feelings sound like.

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music.

When you are ecstatic and in love, you feel buoyant, you feel life, you feel like you’re dancing in the sky.

Dance if about never-ending inspiration.

Common sense and a sense of humour are the same thing, moving at different speeds. A sense of humor is just common sense, dancing.

The earth has music for those who listen.

Those who hear not the music … think the dancers mad.

Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent.

Music and rhythm find their way into the secret places of the soul.

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.

**********I am a dancer. I believe that we learn by practice. Whether it means to learn to dance by practicing dancing or to learn to live by practicing living.... In each it is the performance of a dedicated precise set of acts, physical or intellectual, from which comes shape of achievement, a sense of one's being, a satisfaction of spirit. One becomes in some area an athlete of God. ~Martha Graham, c.1953*********

Lead Me Lord by Gary Valenciano

2012-02-18T06:07:00.000-08:00

Lord thank you for everything...forgive our sins, lead us always to the right path of life and don't ever leave us...I'd like to dedicate this song to my family, for my true and good friends of mine in and outside facebook...And lastly for my future and lifetime partner if God's will/grant me to have...someone who will love me not only in words but in actions too.True love is what I'm longing for...To all,you are my life and that's all that matter.

Lead me Lord, lead me by the hand
And make me face the rising sun
Comfort me through all the pain
That life may bring
There's no other hope
That I can lean upon
(Choro)
Lead me Lord
Lead me all my life
Walk by me, walk by me across
The lonely road that I may face
Take my arms and let your hand
Show me the way
Show the way to live inside your heart
All my days, all my life
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/g/gary_valenciano/lead_me_lord.html ]
Refrain:
You are my light
You're the lamp upon my feet
All the time my Lord
I need You there
You are my light
I (just) cannot live alone
Let me stay
By Your guiding love
All through my life
(Choro)
Lead me Lord
Lead me Lord
Even though at times
I'd rather go alone my way
Help me take the right direction
Take Your road
Lead me Lord
And never leave my side
All my days
All my life
You are my light
You're the lamp upon my feet
All the time my Lord
I need You there
You are my light
I (just) cannot live alone
Let me stay
By Your guiding love
All through my life
You are my light
You're the lamp upon my feet
All the time my Lord
I need You there
You are my light
I (just) cannot live alone
Let me stay
By Your guiding love
All through my life
All through my days
Lead me, Oh Lord
Lead me Lord

Power of Your Love

2012-02-18T05:55:00.001-08:00

Lord, I come to You,

Let my heart be changed, renewed,

Flowing from the grace,

That I found in You

Lord, I've come to know,

The weaknesses I see in me,

Will be stripped away,

By the power of Your love

Hold me close,

Let Your love surround me

Bring me near,

Draw me to Your side

And as I wait,

I'll rise up like the eagle

And I will soar with You,

Your Spirit leads me on

In the power of Your Love

Lord unveil my eyes,

Let me see You face to face

The knowledge of Your love,

As You live in me

Lord renew my mind,

As Your will unfolds in my life

In living every day,

In the power of Your Love

My life is in your hands

2012-02-18T05:46:00.000-08:00

Father in heaven, my insides are shaken so badly. I have been going through these trials for so long that I know only you can calm this heavy storm. Teach me your ways all day long. Keep that hedge around me and my family. Give me all the strength I need to get through all this. This song is exactly how I feel and when I listen to it, I am singing this to you Lord Jesus. Help me, I have never needed you more in my life then I do now. Teach me your ways always. Please don't give up on me.

Kathy Troccoli's Draw Me Close

Draw me close to You

Never let me go

I lay it all down again

To hear You say that I'm Your friend

You are my desire

No one else will do

'Cause nothing else could take Your place

To feel the warmth of Your embrace

Help me find the way

Bring me back to You

You're all I want

You're all I've ever needed

You're all I want

Help me know You are near

My Tribute Post for Whitney Houston

A family meal: Miss Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina,

Hills on February 2. Right, the singer joins her family after

what will have been one of their last nights out together

More recently Miss Houston had just completed a role in the musical Sparkle, in which she played the mother to Jordin Sparks, who has the role of a singer.

The film is set to be released in August and tells the story of three sisters who form a successful group learning to cope with the fallout of fame and drugs.

But for the most part, the star's life had spiralled downhill since her early hits. She suffered a long battle with drugs, including cocaine, as well as alcohol and spent various spells in rehab.

Recent appearances had become increasingly erratic and the years of substance abuse had clearly taken a toll.

She cancelled a string of concerts and talk shows as she struggled to cope. In a chat show with Oprah in 2003, the star admitted the scale of her addiction to smoking crack cocaine. 'It was every day, every,' she said. 'I didn't think about the singing part of it any more.'

Her powerful voice began to suffer because of her demons prompting record sales to nosedive and in 2007 she split from husband Bobby Brown after 15 years of marriage. Recent reports suggested that the soul star was on the brink of bankruptcy, with her pop fortune said to have dwindled away, much of it going to her drug dealers.

What she'll be remembered for: Looking radiant in a white one-shouldered dress, Houston gives an incomparable performance at the peak of her career when she was one of the world's most popular singers

Child: Houston, pictured in 1965 (left), was the daughter of gospel singer Cissy Houston, the cousin of 1960s pop diva Dionne Warwick and the goddaughter of Aretha Franklin. Right, pictured with Jermaine Jackson during rehearsals for a TV performance in 1984

Film: In 1992, she became a star in the acting world with 'The Bodyguard'. The story of a singer guarded by a former Secret Service agent was a success

Famous friend: South African President Nelson Mandela and Whitney Houston smile for photographers in Johannesburg

Award success: Houston collects one of the many accolades she received throughout her career. She was a frequent winner at the Grammys and Billboard awards

Relatives: In this January 1998 photo, singer Houston, left, celebrates her win at the American Music Awards with her mother, Cissy, and brother, Gary, in Los Angeles

Relationship: Houston performs with singer Bobby Brown, left. Their turbulent marriage was the subject of tabloid gossip for years

A UNIQUE TALENT AND INSPIRATIONAL PERFORMER WITH A TROUBLED LIFE

At her peak, Whitney Houston was the golden girl of the music industry. From the middle 1980s to the late 1990s, she was one of the world's best-selling artists. She wowed audiences with effortless, powerful, and peerless vocals that were rooted in the black church but made palatable to the masses with a pop sheen.

Her success carried her beyond music to movies, where she starred in hits like "The Bodyguard" and "Waiting to Exhale."

She had the he perfect voice, and the perfect image: a gorgeous singer who had sex appeal but was never overtly sexual, who maintained perfect poise. She influenced a generation of younger singers, from Christina Aguilera to Mariah Carey, who when she first came out sounded so much like Houston that many thought it was Houston.

But by the end of her career, Houston became a stunning cautionary tale of the toll of drug use. Her album sales plummeted and the hits stopped coming; her once serene image was shattered by a wild demeanour and bizarre public appearances. She confessed to abusing cocaine, marijuana and pills, and her once pristine voice became raspy and hoarse, unable to hit the high notes as she had during her prime.

"The biggest devil is me. I'm either my best friend or my worst enemy," Houston told ABC's Diane Sawyer in an infamous 2002 interview with then-husband Brown by her side.

It was a tragic fall for a superstar who was one of the top-selling artists in pop music history, with more than 55 million records sold in the United States alone.

She seemed to be born into greatness. She was the daughter of gospel singer Cissy Houston, the cousin of 1960s pop diva Dionne Warwick and the goddaughter of Aretha Franklin.

Houston first started singing in the church as a child. In her teens, she sang backup for Chaka Khan, Jermaine Jackson and others, in addition to modeling. It was around that time when music mogul Clive Davis first heard Houston perform.

"The time that I first saw her singing in her mother's act in a club ... it was such a stunning impact," Davis told "Good Morning America." "To hear this young girl breathe such fire into this song. I mean, it really sent the proverbial tingles up my spine," he added.

Before long, the rest of the country would feel it, too. Houston made her album debut in 1985 with "Whitney Houston," which sold millions and spawned hit after hit. "Saving All My Love for You" brought her her first Grammy, for best female pop vocal. "How Will I Know," "You Give Good Love" and "The Greatest Love of All" also became hit singles.

Another multi-platinum album, "Whitney," came out in 1987 and included hits like "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody."

The New York Times wrote that Houston "possesses one of her generation's most powerful gospel-trained voices, but she eschews many of the churchier mannerisms of her forerunners. She uses ornamental gospel phrasing only sparingly, and instead of projecting an earthy, tearful vulnerability, communicates cool self-assurance and strength, building pop ballads to majestic, sustained peaks of intensity."

Her decision not to follow the more soulful inflections of singers like Franklin drew criticism by some who saw her as playing down her black roots to go pop and reach white audiences. The criticism would become a constant refrain through much of her career. She was even booed during the "Soul Train Awards" in 1989.

"Sometimes it gets down to that, you know?" she told Katie Couric in 1996. "You're not black enough for them. I don't know. You're not R&B enough. You're very pop. The white audience has taken you away from them."

Some saw her 1992 marriage to former New Edition member and soul crooner Bobby Brown as an attempt to refute those critics. It seemed to be an odd union; she was seen as pop's pure princess while he had a bad-boy image, and already had children of his own. (The couple had a daughter, Bobbi Kristina, in 1993.) Over the years, he would be arrested several times, on charges ranging from DUI to failure to pay child support.

But Houston said their true personalities were not as far apart as people may have believed.

"When you love, you love. I mean, do you stop loving somebody because you have different images? You know, Bobby and I basically come from the same place," she told Rolling Stone in 1993. "You see somebody, and you deal with their image, that's their image. It's part of them, it's not the whole picture. I am not always in a sequined gown. I am nobody's angel. I can get down and dirty. I can get raunchy."

It would take several years, however, for the public to see that side of Houston. Her moving 1991 rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl, amid the first Gulf War, set a new standard and once again reaffirmed her as America's sweetheart.

In 1992, she became a star in the acting world with "The Bodyguard." Despite mixed reviews, the story of a singer (Houston) guarded by a former Secret Service agent (Kevin Costner) was an international success.

It also gave her perhaps her most memorable hit: a searing, stunning rendition of Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You," which sat atop the charts for weeks. It was Grammy's record of the year and best female pop vocal, and the "Bodyguard" soundtrack was named album of the year.

She returned to the big screen in 1995-96 with "Waiting to Exhale" and "The Preacher's Wife." Both spawned soundtrack albums, and another hit studio album, "My Love Is Your Love," in 1998, brought her a Grammy for best female R&B vocal for the cut "It's Not Right But It's Okay."

But during these career and personal highs, Houston was using drugs. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2010, she said by the time "The Preacher's Wife" was released, "(doing drugs) was an everyday thing. ... I would do my work, but after I did my work, for a whole year or two, it was every day. ... I wasn't happy by that point in time. I was losing myself."

In the interview, Houston blamed her rocky marriage to Brown, which included a charge of domestic abuse against Brown in 1993. They divorced in 2007. Houston would go to rehab twice before she would declare herself drug-free to Winfrey in 2010. But in the interim, there were missed concert dates, a stop at an airport due to drugs, and public meltdowns.

She was so startlingly thin during a 2001 Michael Jackson tribute concert that rumors spread she had died the next day. Her crude behavior and jittery appearance on Brown's reality show, "Being Bobby Brown," was an example of her sad decline. Her Sawyer interview, where she declared "crack is whack," was often parodied. She dropped out of the spotlight for a few years.

Houston staged what seemed to be a successful comeback with the 2009 album "I Look To You." The album debuted on the top of the charts, and would eventually go platinum. Things soon fell apart. A concert to promote the album on "Good Morning America" went awry as Houston's voice sounded ragged and off-key. She blamed an interview with Winfrey for straining her voice.

A world tour launched overseas, however, only confirmed suspicions that Houston had lost her treasured gift, as she failed to hit notes and left many fans unimpressed; some walked out. Cancelled concert dates raised speculation that she may have been abusing drugs, but she denied those claims and said she was in great shape, blaming illness for cancellations.

Yeng Constantino — Pag Ayaw Mo Na

2012-02-02T04:53:00.000-08:00

Lyrics:

May ibang lungkot
Akong nakikita sa iyong mata
Di mo man sinsabi
May ibang galaw
Na di maipaliwanag ng isip ko
Kahit ano pang isipin

Sawa ka na yata
May iba na bang nakita
Isa lang naman ang aking hiling

Pag ayaw mo na
Sabihin mo lang
Di ko matitiis na
Ikaw pang mahirapan
Kase, pag ayaw mo na
Ako nang lilisan
Di rin magtatagal
Pag ayaw mo na nga

Mga titig mo
Wala na ang tamis tulad noon
Di ka na gaya ng dati
Wala na ang lambing
Ng pagtawag mo sa pangalan ko
Di kita masisisi

Sawa ka na yata
May iba na bang nakita
Isa lang naman ang aking hiling

Pag ayaw mo na
Sabihin mo lang
Di ko matitiis na
Ikaw pang mahirapan
Kase, pag ayaw mo na
Ako nang lilisan
Di rin magtatagal
Pag ayaw mo na nga

Tinatanong sa sarili
Nagkulang pa ba ako
Basta't ang alam ko ay
Ginawa kong lahat
Basta't para sayo

Pag ayaw mo na
Sabihin mo lang
Di ko matitiis na
Ikaw pang mahirapan
Kase, pag ayaw mo na
Ako nang lilisan
Di rin magtatagal

Pag ayaw mo na
Sabihin mo lang
Di ko matitiis na
Ikaw pang mahirapan
Kase, pag ayaw mo na
Ako nang lilisan
Di rin magtatagal
Pag ayaw mo na nga

Ayaw mo na
Ayaw mo na ba
Pag ayaw mo na
Ayaw mo na
Ayaw mo na ba
Ayaw mo na ba

Crazy in Love beyonce

2012-02-02T04:31:00.000-08:00

"Crazy in Love" is the debut single by R&B singer-songwriter Beyoncé Knowles, featuring rapper and now-husband Jay-Z. Producer Rich Harrison, Knowles and Jay-Z wrote the song for Knowles' debut solo album, Dangerously in Love. "Crazy in Love" is an R&B love song which incorporates elements of 1970s-style funk, soul and dance-pop genres. The track features a sample from The Chi-Lites' 1970 song "Are You My Woman (Tell Me So)", used as the song's horn hook. The lyrics reference a romantic obsession that causes the protagonist to act out of character.

Columbia Records released "Crazy in Love" on May 20, 2003, as the album's lead single. Critics praised the horn sample, the guest appearance of Jay-Z, and the assertiveness with which Knowles sings the lyrics. "Crazy in Love" ranks 118th on Rolling Stone's 2010 list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.VH1 placed the song at number one on its 100 Greatest Songs of the 2000s list. At the 46th Grammy Awards, it won Grammys for Best R&B Song and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. "Crazy in Love" was Knowles' first number one single as a solo artist in the United States, peaking on the Billboard Hot 100chart for eight consecutive weeks. It also topped UK Singles Chart, and reached the top ten on the singles charts in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden as well as Switzerland and achieved multi-platinum certifications in most of these countries.

The song's accompanying music video features Knowles in various dance sequences. It won three awards at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, and its director, Jake Nava, won the Music Video Production Association award for Best R&B Video in 2004. Since 2003, "Crazy in Love" has been a staple in Knowles' live performances and concert tours. The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) recognized "Crazy in Love" as one of the most performed songs of 2004 at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards. The song has been covered by David Byrne and numerous others, and it has been used in various television shows and other media.

Madonna at the Golden Globe Awards 2012.

2012-01-25T07:36:00.000-08:00

Madonna came with her guns fully loaded to the Golden Globe Awards 2012, and it turned out she needed it. First, there was the cat fight with rival Elton John. Then, it was Ricky Gervais turn to get whipped as he introduced her to present an award.

Madonna was nominated twice at this year’s Golden Globes – one for Best Original song for ‘Masterpiece’ from the movie W.E.’, and the other for Best Score of the same movie. Her rival in the Best Original Song is none other than the British diva himself, Elton John, who was nominated for the song in the movie Gnomeo & Juliet.

At the red carpet, Elton John made the opening salvo. Elton John talked about his co-nominees and when it came to Madonna, he said, “Madonna doesn’t have a f***ing chance of winning tonight.” Asked further if those were fighting words, Elton replied, “No, those are accurate words.”

Then it was Madonna’s turn. At the red carpet, she was told about Elton John’s comment. ‘Was he wearing a dress? May the best man win!” Ouch! She later made Elton John eat his words after winning the Golden Globe for Best Original Song.

But there was another ‘cat fight’, this time with host Ricky Gervais. He introduced her as the presenter of the Best Foreign Language Film by saying she was still a virgin. And when Madonna stepped on stage, she snapped back, “If I’m just like a virgin Ricky why don’t you come over here and do something about it… I haven’t kissed a girl in quite a few years, at least not on TV”. BTW, Ricky Gervais also poked fun at Elton. Introducing the next presenter as the queen of pop, he said, “No, not you, Elton”

Katty Perry Live in Manila 2012 Concert

2012-01-25T04:57:00.000-08:00

It was Katy Perry’s second visit to Manila and, despite the delay (the concert started at 10 PM), it proved to be huge success. Katy Perry wowed her Pinoy fans again with recent hits like Teenage Dream, Firework, Last Friday Night, California Gurls, ET and many more. She later tweeted that the delay was caused by a ‘security concern.’

The naughty side of Katy Perry emerged again. During her concert in Indonesia, Katy Perry plucked a shirtless fan from the crowd and kissed him on stage. In her Manila concert earlier tonight, she did the same thing. But she didn’t pick up someone totally unknown this time. Katy Perry picked up Ivan Dorschner! Yes, Ivan Dorschner from Pinoy Big Brother! She kissed Ivan on stage and he kissed her back. Katy Perry then played with him some more and even squeezed his nipple! Watch it below. First Song of my Two - Zero - 0ne - Two

2012-01-07T12:48:00.000-08:00

.. So here it is....

My Video Reflection:

Time is key ladies, when you love someone and they’ve broken you heart; you must know when it is time to let go. As hard as this may sound, strength, courage and knowledge are gathered from a broken heart. No one promised that love did not will last forever, nor that it wouldn’t, it’s just a chance. Life is a chance. Love yourself and hope all is well, not only for you, but for that person as well. Never let bad feelings or experience change the person you are. No one wants to see a wounded person, so understand that you need time to heal internally. There is no set time on when this will happen, but just let it take its course.

When the time is right, and you feel like you are ready to love again, don’t look for it, let it find you. It’s not about getting over a person; it’s about feeling good about you. It’s about knowing that you are the most important and you need to be happy. When you accept yourself as you are and you love yourself for who you are then you will find that back. Never settle for anything less then what you desire and deserve. Love is all about timing, make yourself the best person you can be both mentally and physically. Once you heal, you will no longer waste your time on men who do not see you for who you are. You will see yourself as beautiful women that have so much to offer the right man.

For thinking things like this, I…myself is still hoping that beyond the risk and circumstances that we’ve been trying to fix as of now, I hope we could always give it a try to forgive each and every tip of it. * not all times......

Take A Shot for 2011 Top Hits Songs

2011-12-31T06:15:00.000-08:00

Sexy And I Know It --LMFAO

Party rockers LMFAO have absolutely no self-esteem issues, at least judging by ‘Sexy and I Know It,’ a boastful new song so ridiculous it makes Right Said Fred’s ‘I’m Too Sexy’ look like a work of creative genius.

We Found Love --Rihanna

While the song is much more in the vein of the celebratory dance-pop of LOUD than the moody noir of Rated R, “We Found Love” still signals a musical (and sure enough in weeks to come, a visual) shift for Rihanna–an artist who’s consistently proven herself capable of skillfully reinventing herself in a way not seen since Madonna.

The One That Got Away--Katy Perry

Before Katy Perry was hooking up with celebrities like Russell Brand and Travis McCoy, she was an 18-year-old making out to Radiohead songs in the back of a Mustang, high school graduation fresh in her memory. At least that's the story of "The One That Got Away," the potentially record-setting sixth single from Perry's 2010 sophomore album, "The One That Got Away" is an earnest, slightly predictable ode to lost love with similarities to 2009's "Waking Up In Vegas."

It Will Rain-- Bruno Mars

The song is more subdued than we’re used to hearing from Mars, but that’s appropriate for a song from ‘Twilight.’ The haunting, downtempo track begins with the singer contemplating the potential loss of a lover:

“If you ever leave me, baby / Leave some morphine at my door / Cause it would take a whole lot of medication / To realize what we used to have, we don’t have it anymore.”

Those opening lines pretty much match Mars’ earlier comments about the song, which he described as a tale about “the darker side of love.”

Ni**as in Paris --Kanye West and Jay-Z

The song is about bragging about how much money and fame you have and how many girls and material things you get. The song emphasizes materialism, substance use, and casual sexual behavior.

Good Feeling --Flo Rida

Flo Rida is back and he’s feeling real good. The Miami rapper just released his new song ‘Good Feeling,’ which is the lead single from his upcoming album ‘Only 1 Rida (Part 2).’

Set Fire To The Rain--Adele

"Set Fire to the Rain" is a song by English singer-songwriter Adele from her second studio album 21. Written by Adele and Fraser T. Smith and produced by Smith, the power ballad was released as the second single from the album in Europe. It was released as the third single in the United Kingdom on 4 July 2011, where the song has peaked at number 11.

Someone Like You--Adele

"Someone Like You" was written and produced by Adele and American songwriter and producer Dan Wilson. It was one of the last written for 21.The track, which epitomizes the lyrical content of 21, summarizes the now defunct relationship that the record is all about.Adele has openly discussed the genesis of it saying, "Well, I wrote that song because I was exhausted from being such a bitch, with 'Rolling in the Deep' or 'Rumour Has It' ... I was really emotionally drained from the way I was portraying him, because even though I'm very bitter and regret some parts of it, he's still the most important person that's ever been in my life, and 'Someone Like You,' I had to write it to feel OK with myself and OK with the two years I spent with him. And when I did it, I felt so freed."

Party Rock Anthem

LMFAO Featuring Lauren Bennett & GoonRock

"Party Rock Anthem" is a mostly electronic composition. It has sold over 4,734,000 digital downloads in the United States and reached number one in the U.S for five straight weeks. Billboard Hot 100.It also became the seventh song in the chart's history to spend at least 25 weeks in the top 10 of theBillboard Hot 100.

Dance (A$$)--Big Sean Featuring Nicki Minaj

"Dance (A$)" is a song by American rapper Big Sean and was released as the third single from his debut album, Finally Famous. It is the seventh song on the official track list and was added to urban radio formats on September 20, 2011. The official remix of the song, which premiered on October 4, 2011, features Nicki Minaj and was made available for free download on her website; it was released on U.S. Urban radio on October 18, 2011.

Moves Like Jagger --Maroon 5 Featuring C. Aguilera

Presently sitting at number 2 on Billboard and ARIA charts (after previously hitting #1 on the Billboard), Moves Like Jagger is the quadrennial reminder that yes, Maroon 5 do exist. And they make music still! How cute! It also has Christina Aguilera in it, presumably a pairing borne of Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera working together on US talent search The Voice. So naturally, after spending so much time searching for said Voice, Levine has returned his band to success after – IF NO ONE ELSE WILL SAY IT, I GUESS I’LL HAVE TO – a bit of a SLUMP, quite frankly. For shame, Maroon 5. For. Shame.

5 O'Clock--T-Pain Featuring Wiz Khalifa & Lily Allen

"It's 5 O'Clock in the morning/ I want you, and you want me," he brags on his way back from a night with the lads, leaving Lils to play the role of a nagging (and somewhat pathetic) girlfriend. "Something coming up on me/ And I know you be getting so horny," he continues, his roboticised vocals sounding more processed than a cheese string. The upside? If it forces Lily out of retirement for a rebuttal, it'll all have been worth it.

Without You--David Guetta Featuring Usher

‘Without You’ is a light, hands-in-the-air and somewhat ethereal song lamenting a heavy subject: Life without someone who means the world to you. The nuances and studio enhancements to the vocals are subtle; it’s echoes and layering, but not too much trickery. When they sing “I’ve lost my mind without you” and “I’m paralyzed without you,” the words are clear as bells. The heft of the words juxtaposed against the feathery music works and allows the song to remain bouyant and well, not a downer despite it’s unhappy musings.

Let's look forward to the festivity of CHRISTMAS with full of love, sharing, peace & joy!

The Nature's Market family

LOL. She sounds better singing this live than her studio version. I love Charice because she can explode with power ballads by Celine Dion and Whitney and even take it up an octave higher. Clarkson's a good singer but umm, not at Celine or Whitney's level. Peace.
