Soochipara Falls - Wayanad, Kerala

2018-04-16T14:04:00.001+05:30

Soochipara Falls also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfalls is a three-tiered waterfall in Vellarimala, Wayanad, India. It is surrounded by deciduous, evergreen and montane forests. Locally referred to as Soochipara ("Soochi" meaning "Needle" and "Para" meaning "Rock"), the 15-20 minute drive from Meppadi to Sentinel Rock Waterfalls has views of a number of Wayanad's tea estates. The Sentinel Rock Waterfalls is 200 metres (656 feet) and offers a cliff face that is used for rock climbing. The water from Soochipara Falls later joins Chulika River or popularly known as Chaliyar River after Velarimala Hills near Cherambadi (Tamil Nadu) in Kerala.Once people reach the parking area, they have to pass through a security check at the entrance where they make sure you don't carry any plastic. It takes 10-15 minutes walk to the waterfalls and water flow is less during summer, which makes it easy to reach the rocks where water falls.

2016-06-19T04:03:00.000+05:30

Kanyakumari is a coastal town in the state of Tamil Nadu on India's southern tip. Jutting into the Laccadive Sea, the town was known as Cape Comorin during British rule and is popular for watching sunrise and sunset over the ocean. It's also a noted pilgrimage site thanks to its Bagavathi Amman Temple, dedicated to a consort of Shiva, and its Our Lady of Ransom Church, a center of Indian Catholicism.
Area: 25.89 km²
Elevation: 30 m
Weather: 25°C, Wind W at 10 km/h, 83% Humidity
Population: 29,761 (2012)

Though there are several places of tourist-interest in the town and district, Kanyakumari is especially popular in India for its spectacular and unique sunrise and sunset, thanks to its being nearly surrounded by waters. On balmy, full-moon evenings (locally called Chitra Pournami), one can also see the moon-rise and sunset at the same time.

A beautiful Munnar - Kerala

2016-05-01T02:33:00.001+05:30

Munnar is a town and hill station located in the Idukki district of the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. Munnar is situated at around 1,600 metres (5,200 ft) above sea level, in the Western Ghats range of mountains.

The name Munnar is believed to mean "three rivers", referring to its location at the confluence of the Mudhirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers. Munnar town is situated on the Kannan Devan Hills village in Devikulam taluk and is the largest panchayat in the Idukki district covering an area of nearly 557 square kilometres (215 sq mi).[citation needed] The nearest major railway stations are at Ernakulam and Aluva (approximately 140 kilometres (87 mi) by road). The Nearest Functioning Railway station is at Udumalaipettai according to Google maps The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport, which is 105 kilometres (65 mi) away. (wiki)

Bangalore to Munnar is approx 1000KM round trip. The best route to go is as below.

While going go via Erode -> Coimbatore bi-pass. In Western Ghat, you can visit Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, you can also take rest or get refresh at Lakkam Waterfall which will be on the road side.

One you reach Munnar, there are many place to visit like Rose Garden, Carmelagiri Elephant Park Madupetty Powerhouse (below pics)
and can do boating.

You can Also visit Attukad Waterfall which is also near by with full of dangerous rocks. (Getting into water not allowed)

Once you are done with Munnar, you can goto "Kolukkumalai Mountain Hut" which is highest in Kerala and best view point to see sunrise and sunset. From the view point one side is Tamilnadu and another side is Kerala.
You can not go there by your own car, It's in private property, you need to take help with local Jeep/Taxi. There is no road to reach there (you can say that) they will take you in their Jeep which will cost 1400/- to 1600/- INR from "Suryanelli" (Around 30 KM way back to Bangalore). To see sunrise you need to reach Suryanelli by 4:30 AM anyhow. If you want taxi from Munnar they'll charge 2500/- to 3000/- INR.

You can part you car in Suryanelli and take their jeep. This is going to be very bumpy ride.
While going up you won't be able to see anything other than scary roads like below. (I was not at all able to click)

One you'll reach at top, you are going to love the view and sunrise, clouds, mountains, mist.

This is place is going to be cold and windy. Do not forget to take some kind of jacket & cap.

Don't worry, you'll get tea there to keep you warm.

And here you go....

One The Sun is up, you can see the real beauty of Nature.
Enjoy you return journey.

Keep in mind. This is beautiful Art of Nature,

DO NOT SPOIL IT.

DO NOT LITTER.

PLEASE PLEASE KEEP IT CLEAN.

Zoological Reserve (Jungle Safari)

The chital or cheetal (Axis axis), also known as chital deer, spotted deer or axis deer is a deer which commonly inhabits wooded regions of Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, and in small numbers in Pakistan. The chital goes by various names in India, among which include: Chital horin in Bengali, Thith Muwa in Sinhalese, Jinke in Kannada, Pulli Maan in Tamil and Malayalam, Duppi in Telugu, Phutuki Horin in Assamese, Haran/Harin in Marathi, and Hiran in Hindi/Urdu (the latter two derived from Harini, the Sanskrit cognate for 'deer'). It is the most common deer species in Indian forests. The name Chital comes from the Bengali word Chitral (চিত্রল)/Chitra (চিত্রা), which means "spotted". The chital is monotypic within the genus Axis, but this genus has also included three species that now are placed in Hyelaphus based on genetic evidence.
