Well, I said I would try to stay posted on the events and the concerts... that I have been working... Sometimes I just do not realize how 'hyped' I get after a show, over excited, or tired (over).... Tonight at the Fox Theater, Oakland the band was Sound Tribe Sector 9. Never really heard their stuff, but I you tubed them, just so that I know kind of what to expect when I get to work.

I felt that I was going to enjoy their sound, and I sure did. They were loud, and they were good. The light show, though, I had to back away. I now understand how people can get seizures from strobbing and fast flashing of the light show. I would probably never could imagine myself saying something like that years back. I was posted in the balcony area, making sure that no one exits a certain door.. but close enough to just enjoy the show. The show time was a little longer than usual, but since music was good, it was alright with me.

Another task that I had after the show was to clear out the woman's restroom... and of course, I had to look under the stalls, making sure that no one was in there.... anyways, I got scared when I seen a pair of feet in one stall. and when I knocked, there was no response! Yikes! Thank you Rock med for being there when we need you... She finally started to move around and makng some noise... Whew.. she is alive. When she came out of the stall, I asked her if she was alright, to.............. she responded... NO...Thank you again ROCK MED!! Made it home safe!

Next show will be 'Ragga Muffin'... Regae ;) in a week from tonight!!

Rob Zombie Show @ SJ Event Center

Well, I must say that I enjoyed the music tonight at the Event Center. I am a rocker, and I know it! Leading off was a drum solo that made my mouth drop! It was awesome! I was posted out at the doors, but the music was loud enough, that when Rob Zombie got on stage, I felt the excitement throughout! By the time he got on, most people were already in the venue, and I was able to go to the orchestra door and watch! Yes, I was getting stoked with the drum solo that I knew that if I was to be reassigned to inside the venue, I would have gotten stuck! :)

I gave a fellow worker his break, and he decided to take off his uniform and joined in with the mosh pit! I told go ahead! When he came back, he said to me that the little bit of moshing that he did, was worth four months of therapy. I could see a difference in him, and he even thanked me with a hug! It was worth it to see someone appreciate this music, although expressed in a different way.

Returning out to my post at the doors, I was listening to some mean geetaring! Damn! I was thinking how anyone could not appreciate the solo(s) but to just enjoy the talent that was on that stage. I may not have watched it, but I sure did hear it.... and FELT it too! **Whew** is all I could say or think! I was ready to come out with an air guitar. With that said.... Rock On!!

A weekend off?

I do not believe I remember when I have had a Saturday and Sunday off! I am going to watch football tomorrow. Last night I work a Spookfest Rave! Wow, I seen alot of different costumes, of course and the music was great! I was posted at the pass gate for the Wrestling Ring. I am not really a Holloween kind of person, so I was glad that I was posted away from crowd... So I watched from afar! :) The highlight of my evening... being a Niner fan... Out from behind the black curtain comes a hearst with the Raider emblem! Does that mean that the is the official vehicle for the taking out of Raider players that are not doing their job? LOL! Sorry to my Raider's fan friends! Oh yes, the music was awesome. Trancey.. The Crystal Method, and so much more. Now I have expereienced my first rave and know now what I allowed my daughter to attend back in her days of going to Raves.

Upcoming will be Rob Zombie at the San Jose Event Center... then up to the Fox Theater in Oakland for Puscifer and Drop Dead Murphys. (This is just my next week schedule). I am anxous to see (hear) Rob Zombie, and the Drop Dead Murphys. Yes I know, different genre of music; Is that why I love my job? My job as an event staff is to make sure that the event goers have a SAFE and good time. That means that I am a People watcher and to assist anyone that may need assistance.

Will try to post to share my experiences. There has been too many to even try to start thinking back of the events that I have done and have stories that could have been shared!

Here I am a year later... been very busy with been an usher... and event staffing in the SF Bay area. I believe that this year I have seen (heard) sooo many different genre s of music that I could not tell you all about it. I am enjoying what I do, because the love of music, I believe is the Universal Language.

I actually have a few days off to just "WOW".... from REO, STYX. to Kenny Chesney, to Australian Pink Floyd, Ben Harper & Relentless7 ... and up to the last couple of days, there is the annual Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit. Its been an awesome year. Have been placed (posted) in different spots of various venues. Learning what goes on behind the stage is so......... Amazing! I never realized what really goes on.

Although there are 'rules' to being around such talented people, unfortunately I am unable to become a 'Fan'. I have had Bob Dylan walk right behind me after his sound check. Jason Mraz standing talking to friends and family as I sit, guard the dressing rooms, Was also on the same stair case as Steely Dan made their exit from the stage. :) I may not be able to SEE the concerts, but I sure can hear them. A lot goes on in getting the stage, venue ready for a performance. I think that I have the 'occupation' that I do not mind saying.... I am going to work!!

What really blows my mind is.... how the media say that there is such a depression going on in our society, there are people that are still attending events! To me, that is sooooooo AWESOME! Time to relax a bit... just getting off of a 6 day run... with three 12 hour days in the past eight days!

It was about a year ago, that I became a permanent employee of Alcatraz, and I do remember being on the roof of the Cell House as FLEET WEEK and San Francisco are in the same sentence! I do have different days off, and I will be enjoying the Blue Angels, and The ThunderBirds tomorrow! The traffic will be hurrendous, and well... That what its all about! I heard on the News .. that the Embarcadero should be expecting approximately... ONE MILLION visitors! And I do believe that when I was driving in it last year! Uhhh, the Angels should be just about getting started about now for the first show. and then tomorrow.. will be their second show! I am glad that today I am 35 miles south of the City.. I will deal with that tomorrow!

Tonight... Carlos Santana... is what is on my agenda for the night! YES!!! I am soo looking forward to this show... but I also said that about the last show that I worked, which was Cheap Trick, Heart and Journey!!

YESSSSSS!!! Talent is local and from back in the day! Do not get me wrong.. I enjoy new music...and I believe that the groups that I have just mentioned have THAT too! Wooo Hoooo.... what more can one say about the groups that I mentioned... need not have to explain!

Anyways, I just had a couple seconds before I need to go into another mind set...

Wow... I cannot believe that its been the whole summer that I have not been blogging or even on the computer much! I have been keeping very busy at Alcatraz with the summer adjusted schedules, and along with the ushering that I do at Shoreline has kept me busy and on the go.... for a FAST MINUTE here! I am soo Glad that I have a day off from both places today, and it does feel good! Do not get me wrong....

I enjoyed Stevie Wonder, The Rock Star Mayhem Festival, The Download Fest, Police, Elvis Costello, Toby Keith, John Mayer, Disturbed and Slip Knot, Scorpions, Sammy H (Yes, Red Rocker, himself)and oh yes... The CrueFest!! Projeck Revolution with Linkin Park! Wow! and last weekend.. was the Rock The Bells Concert!

As I am listing these various artists and concerts and festivals... NO WONDER I have not been online... these are over and above the 40 that I do on the Island!!! Season at Shoreline is starting to slow a bit, but I still have Judas Priest, Heaven and Hell, and MOtorhead to look forward to... along with the Counting Crows, and even SANTANA!!

I really enjoy the summer time... tonight in San Francisco starts the Big huge concert 'OUTSIDE LANDS FEST' in Golden Gate Park! I was asked to work it, but I think I just done ran out of energy! I will be missing BECK, Radiohead, Steve Winwood, Tom Petty............... ALL of it! I had already booked my shows for the month, and this was added on.... and I must obligate myself to the original bookings! It just would not be fair! SO I do have the Comedy Jam headlining Kat Williams! :)

I did not want to say anything, cuz I would just piss myself off... but there really has been alot of talent in the Bay Area this year, and I am really happy that I was able to enjoy alot of it!
Anyways... If any of you from Alcatraz reads this, you know that I have been busy and
enjoying the extra entertainment and I promised you all that I would rest today... SO on that note... I shall sign out for the moment!

Summertime Schedule

Well, I think this is the first time in a long time that I have not to wake up by a certain time, or to be somewhere by a certain time! It feels good, and I think maybe that I should not get to liking this too much! LOL. I was able to visit with a friend online that I have not talked to in ages. We shared some pictures, and just chatted and talked for a minute. He had made prior plans with another friend, and was heading out for a fishing trip with his buds! I am glad that he was able to take a few minutes for me! I think its what I needed, no doubt! I am feeling good and relaxed!

Within this past month, Alcatraz has gone to the Summer Time Schedule, and each of us, has to rearrange out work schedule. Two days, in at 8:45 to 4:45 and the other three days we go in 10:30 to 6:30. It makes a later day but Its all good! I feel as if I am still trying to adjust to the couple hours of difference in the time of the day.

This past week, it just seemed so long, I was really looking forward to just hang out at the house! As well, I also started up a couple other things in Event Staff, and also the concerts at Shoreline are starting to happen. I did (ushered) for the KISS FM 'Old School Fiesta', about mid May, and event staffed for the San Jose University Graduations. Not Bad, I figure.. with concerts coming up more in July, Aug, ... and So on...at Shoreline, that I have been kind of prepping myself physically. so that I can do the concerts on my weekends away from the Island!

There are a couple shows that I am getting excited about and that would be for Police, and Guest Elvis Costello. Counting Crows, oh yes, the Crue Fest! And we Cannot forget about Stevie Wonder!! Yes, All this talent and more.., is enough to get yourself 'prepped' to do!! Anyways, Ima justa chilling today... cuz it is So HOT here!

Well, yes, its been an interesting couple of months!! I went to work, the last time I posted here on this blogg, and during lunch time, I received a phone call from brother! Yea, I was informed that my cousin had passed away.. he was just six months older than me, and we kinda grew up together! I have been sick.. as well, With just Sinus stuff,,, and well, the last time I posted on here, was the day of his wake, now that I am thinking about it! I was not told that he had Hep C, until after all that!
Was that the reason I was supposed to try keep up with the chat group, Carol?? Hee Hee! I know that I did not want to just post about the dilemnas that I may be going through! I mean, with that... and other things... it just seems like... Goodness, we should not be just dwell on the things that we think that we cannot handle!

During that time, though.. even as I read what I have written, that was all that was really happening to me! In the past three weeks, I have been at work.. I have gone to work every day that I am supposed to! Yea... NO dilemnas, not too bad... I am now able to travel on my commute by train!! Wheeeeee! Yes, a very simple thing to most people, well, seemed like such a chore! I hated that... I know that I enjoy my job on Alcatraz Island... I enjoy the serenity, the peacefulness (yes, even with all the tourist!)the beauty of the Island! I also enjoy the people that I meet, even though, it may be for a second, or a minute, I see the intrigue, and learning experience that the visitors have had! I look forward to my boat ride in the mornings!

Now.. Yet another season is coming upon the horizon! Yep...The Summer! Means Shoreline and the concert schedule for this year! Its starting to happen! I am getting excited, and am ready to book my first concert for the Season! Oh yea, but we must go and update our information with the theater!! ::) That will be on Saturday.. and living less than 10 (ten) miles from the theater! To me, 10 miles is nothing, compared to the 40 that I travel to Alcatraz! I did it last year.. when I lived in the City... and made it to work.. So, I am sure that I can handle the little ride after the concerts! I am really looking forward to this!! Anyways..I just wanted to update! I have new days off too!!!.. That would be om Fridays and Saturdays... So really I see things starting to shape!

Its Been Awhile..eh?

Well, since the beginning of the year, things have happened both for the good and for the not so good. I am handling things alot better than I have been... I have moved into my apartment! I am getting over an upper respitory infection, I lost a cousin! I am really handling things much better than I was.... than a year ago.

If any one might be interested, I am back on line... yet at the same time, I have to get back to work. There is alot going on there as well. I am looking foreward for tne season to begin at Shoreline! I believe that I am back to being ME again! I like that thought... Anyways...

So, Its the new year, and I am still here! I am thankful of that! Wow, these past weeks, I never realized just how much was done, still has to get done, and 'whew! I tell you that it is not easy! You all probably know that, So, really no need for me to emphasize that. Anyways, today I had a day off, and was actually checking some email, and I napped, and here I am on the net. I have not been online very much at all, and I really do miss communicating, here online.
Already, its been a year since my older passed away, and now I am taking care of my younger brother! Where is my sister, you ask? Oh yea, she went to Hawaii.. .How about that??
Another birthday is coming up for me, and some one that thinks she is getting older... I am! Ha Ha Ha Ha!

Anyways,.. Finally, the Parastransit of San Francisco, has now set up an interview with my brother so that he can use their services. This may actually free up my time some! We shall see! It seems, that the paperwork involved with the various projects that I have going... I honestly do not know if I am coming or going. I have split days off.. So that really makes it bad, cuz I really do not know which day it really is!! LOL

I want to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous new year! Enjoy yourselves, and know that what you do is true to your heart!

Well, I just wanted to say that things are happening so fast that I did not even realize how close were are... to the holiday....!!! I will be looking for a place pretty soon... and well, I know that this past year has really been a trying year for me, and I am glad that I have advanced to where I am now! I still have a long way to go.....
Today I made an appointment for my brother, for the Eye Doctors! I have been on the phone for what always seems to be too long to be on the phone, at least on the job. My brother, Stan, decided he wanted to go shopping at Costco! Whew! Any of you know what Costco is? Buying in bulk.. and all that kind of stuff. We were reading all the labels to check the sodium and sugar levels!

Oh, yes, I decided to work this weeks 49er game :)). Finally! I know that this year has been a rough one for us, but you know ??? They are still the NINERS. They will be playing the Cincinnatti Bengals! and its on a Saturday!

I just found this and here I am blogging!! UNBELIEVABLE! Anyways, I am still working and getting things together! Recently my brother... My younger brother decided to have a stoke on me... well... I am glad that he was with me when alot of this happened! i have been working and being with my brother in the past month! I tell you... I do not know if I am coming or going.. Cow Palace cancelled but Bridge School...

Well, last weekend, I went out to the Cow Palace, just to find out that the event was Canceled! I did not want to work that day, but I put all of my gumtion into going and at least showing up. How strange that was, because I also had a dream that I was eating a Burito, and my son actually treated me to a Burito that day... LOL

I am looking forward to this weekend. It is the Bridge School Benefit Concert at the Shoreline! Its going on for the whole weekend and I will be working the whole event! I have been kind of looking forward to this weekend for some time now, and YIKES!! its here! It seems like I have alot of paperwork and some reseaching to do! I have to fill out the insurance papers for work and have to turn it in on my day off. How fair does that sound? No, I am not complaining, its just that I am not in the mood to do that kind of research! I think Human resources is going to available about 2 o'clock this afternoon.

OH, and I finally got it all straightened out with good ole DMV and now I am a valid Californa Driver! Name changes, and all that stuffs...seems to have gotten in the way!

I should call her and find out more on whats going on!

One day I wrote about this mailbox! I thought it was quite cool the way it was 'designed'. Because of schedules and other activities going on, I had not been to this particular bus stop for a few minutes, and I came across the same bus stop earlier this week, and I was so disappointed that the art was taken off of it! I thought, well, my goodness, now, I can almost imagine that there must be a law against someone creating art on a MailBox! Is there? Hmmmm, I am starting to wonder now!

Well, I am back, and well, I found out that the MailBox is in reference to R2D2, Star Wars! Yes! Well, I was told that the art had to be taken off of the mail box, because, someone would soon steal the mail box!! Hello??? Did I just write that thought out loud??? What a shame, huh? Art, I thought is something that needs to be shared as well as appreciated! Eh, who am I, but the naive person that there are still picket fences?

Shoreline is about ready to close down for the season, with Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit Concert.. Coming up! That is still another two weekends away!!! Did you catch the line up on that? (21st Annual Bridge School Benefit with Neil Young, Metallica, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Vedder with Flea and Jack Irons,Tom Waits with Kronos Quartet,John Mayer, Tegan and Sara, Regina Spektor)! Now, with that said, I decided to give CSC a call to see if there was anything happening this weekend, as far as events!

Oh yes, by the way, I decided to split my days off, and have Tuesday, and then Saturdays off... I may be able to catch some work for CSC on the weekends. Not bad, huh? Yea, I was starting to wonder why I was putting myself through... That EVENT stuff.. alot of abuse, to the body... But I miss it so when I am not doing event staffing!! Tomorrow, at the San Mateo Event Expo, there is an Indian Concert going on, and ... uh... Drag racing! Someone asked me... Indian.. as in American Indian, I do believe... said Nope.. more like Eastern Indian!! Hmmmm I have never been to an event like this one.. but I did hear from some people that worked at Shoreline that said that they had enjoyed themselves last year. .I guess the event was at Shoreline last year... and Drag racing .... hmmmmm ... Wondering how that is gonna be!! You know ???

Steve Miller takes the Cake

Well, I actually attended a concert at Shoreline last night, and I had such a good time . There was alot of talent that crossed that stage.. It unbelievable!! After the concert, I went into my supervisors office and told her that I probably could not have worked last night and stayed a good usher!! LOL I mean, that I was so mezmerized with the music... Many guitar solos, harp solos, It was AWESOME!! My daughter and I like to make it to at least one concert a year of our liking.. and we just go and have a good time, and we did, last night! There was also, Big Brother and the Holding Company with THC, The Greg Kihn Band, The Doobie Brothers, and of course, The Steve Miller Band! A hellava show! I tell you, The Doobie Brothers, still got it in them. Steve Miller Band played so many different genre of music, plus their old stuff, how can you not enjoy? The seats we had were perfect! The only bad thing was that the couple behind us... were a bunch of rootie poots! WE got up to dance, errr, my daughter did at one point, and the gentleman decided to tap on her shoulder to mention that she was standing at the concert....HELLOOOOOO!!!??? I could not believe that! But then again, I could, only because I am an usher, and I have had that complaint brought to my attention before. What are you supposed to do?? They really could not say anything when everyone in the crowd decided to get up and groove to the music... Hee Hee Hee... Yup!

I accepted the position at Alcatraz as a seasonal worker, and just within these last couple of day, they offered me a full time position, that includes benefits, and all that good stuff!! I am happy right now! And I want to do either ushering, or event staff! I realized though, that I really cannot do alot of that, my weekends.. or my days off is Tuesday and Wednesday... So when I am doing concerts, I could probably do one concert a weekend, instead of tryng to get them all in!

Anyways, I just wanted to keep up alittle bit.. Seems like I have so much to say, but right my energy level is not so good...doing my shifts at Alcatraz, and then these couple of days, there has been concerts!!

Its Been a MONTH already?

Well, I know that I have been busy.. but WOW! I was working for the Grand Prix, I see! and yes, it started to get busy after that! I do want to say that I am doing 40+ hours.. I am now working in the bookstore for Alcatraz... Yes, ALCATRAZ...as in the Island! I started there about two weeks ago, and also have stayed with the event staffing thing! No wonder.. Have I had time to even write?? How about sleep? He he He....

I am in alot of training, I am finding that I am in awe when I go to work! This is one place that I can say that I am learning something new everyday!! The first day that I was there, I did take the Audio Tour, and as a Native of San Francisco, I think I should have known this stuff, you know?

Anyways, I just wanted to let you know what I have been up to.... ALOT.. I will be back... I am just checking in ; And Ahhhh yes, Toby Keith tonight at the Shoreline!!

San Jose Grand Prix Third Annual!

This is the Pace Car for the San Jose Grand Prix this year. I had the opportunity to work this event, and I had a good time! It was hot, muggy, and wow! Here is more detail on how my weekend went on

I also worked at Shoreline on Sunday for the Projekt Revolution!! That concert was rocking and it was Loud! I still did not need to wear my ear plugs.. So, in realty, not too loud! ;) Linkin Park had the crowd rocking, dancing, on their seats... standing... and so on and so on!! Chemical Romance also... had the place rocking! :( Unfortunatly, I was not able to watch the other bands... .I had to check tickets! There seemed like there was alot going on at that time in the section that I was assigned to! By the time I was able to stand for a second and watch the show... Uh, yes, Chemical Romance was already on stage. As I was listening... and not knowing which band was on stage... I definately enjoyed the music!

Well, will it be Alcatraz.. or will it be... Uh,... Working at the forty niner training camp? The person that I interviewed with... called me and was having a hard time verifying my employment records! He needed an Employer number... and well, I don't do that kind of stuff... so I called someone to find out how this thing is done! Seems like its a very very corporate thing. I went to the website that they were refering to... and the social security number they also need to verify! I am not too sure how that works... and I am not sure I really like that idea either. O well...Anyways.. gotta run! Gotta study a bit.. Tomorrow is RUSH at the Shoreline.. and well... The niner Training camp coming up friday and into next week!

Wow...Its Wednesday After....

Well, this past weekend... It was busy.. it was awesome! Had oZZfest in town, and I did work as an usher to this event. It was the first time that I have ever seen Ozzy.. I am glad that I can say that I did him live!! I have always like Black Sabbath's music from back in the day. I remember when my cousin used to play his guitar, and I was just listening... Room was filled with black light posters, and of course the Black Light used to be on all the time!

The next night was the 'Bone Bash'! Now, that is what I call a concert! We had Laidlaw, Pat Travers, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, AND Lynard Skynard! Yessireee!! It was happening... iT WAS awesome... and I was there!! It appeared that we had a southern rock event here in the San Francisco Bay area! Its these concerts that I know, and are more famliar with! I enjoyed every single minute of my time listening to these groups play. I was dancing, I was screaming, along with the guests, I was dancing at my post! Reminds me of the concerts that I used to go to.. back in the day! Wooo hooooo!

A nice mellow concert to end this series of events.... The Fray, Gomez, and Eisley! The music was mellow, the guests looked they were enjoyng temselves! A good one to wnd down on!! Anyways. I am prepping myself for this upcoming weekend.. San jose Grand Prix is happening, and also on Sunday, Projekt Revolution is going on with a bunch of groups...Projekt Revolution Tour with Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, HIM, Julien-K, Placebo, Mindless Self Indulgence, The Bled, Styles of Beyond

Yesterday I had a surprise of my life! My daughter and I decided to go to the early Farmers Market; It was Wednesday! Anyways, I parked the car... and we started to walk through the area where the booths are, looking at all the fresh fruit and vegetables! We picked up a few things and started to go back to the car.
As we started to approach the car, and even getting in... all of a sudden there was an officer at my window showing me a badge.. of course I showed him my ID... and my daughter and I were talking about the evening I had before, I had worked th Gwen Stefani concert. He asked whose 'Disabilty placard' this belonged to.. I said my brother. I was really surprised that this was happening... I was at a metered slot. and I remember my daughter saying that she waould put money in the meter... ok....

I guess the meter ran out...Yikes.... and I was given a ticket for misuse of a DP... more when I ger back... gotta move the car...LOL.. I am fighting this 500 dollar ticket!
