RED 2 hasn't hit theaters yet and Summit Entertainment is ready to rush the next installment into production. THR reports that the writers who drafted the script for the first two movies have been hired to pen the next one. Details below!

Red 2 isn’t being released until July 19, but the Lionsgate division has signed Jon and Erich Hoeber to write a third installment of the action franchise.

The screenwriting siblings wrote Red as well as Red 2.

Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian will produce Red 3 via their Di Bonaventura Pictures banner.

Red was based on a comic book mini-series by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner and revolved around the conceit of over-the-hill operatives kicking the butts of younger agents.

The 2010 film assembled Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and Morgan Freeman and proved to have legs at the box office, grossing $90 million domestically and $199 million worldwide.

Red 2 once again sees Willis as the retired black ops agent who has to reassemble his old team. Big names joining the fun this time around are Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Panic attack!

Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz was rushed off stage during Cannes Film Festival after gunshots reportedly went off and someone yelled "Run, he has a gun!" I guess Dr. King Schultz wasn't willing to take a risk without his trusted sidekick, Django, around. Read on!

Chaos erupted on the Croisette on Friday when a noise that sounded like gunshots broke out during a crowded evening on Cannes' main thoroughfare.

While security on the scene first told The Hollywood Reporter that fireworks had been set off, witnesses later said it was indeed a man with a gun.

The incident occurred just before the live television broadcast of Le Grand Journal, a nightly news and entertainment program that broadcasts from Martinez beach every day during the Cannes Film Festival. Jury members Christoph Waltz and Daniel Auteuil were being interviewed when the incident occurred. They were rushed offstage.

According to an eyewitness, after the small explosion, police told the crowd to run. He said: "I thought I heard them say, 'Run, he has a gun.' "

Alice Eve Thinks Birds Might Come From Aliens

"The truth is out there!"

British actress Alice Eve discusses aliens with Jimmy Kimmel on his talk show. She says that she believes in their existence and is almost convinced that the US government is hiding something.

During their Star Trek Into Darkness promo tour, the cast of the film talked to astronauts on a space station via Skype and J.J. Abrams asked bluntly if there was extraterrestrial life out there. Alice explains that NASA's response to that question was totally "rehearsed" and she didn't buy any of it. Not only does the actress believe in aliens, she also finds birds suspicious. Alice thinks they might come from a superior life form.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the Avengers spin-off that focuses on the government organization responsible for the superhero ensemble. The TV series focuses on the missions of the division, which would include mentions of many of Marvel's key characters.

Well, there is nothing wrong with Man of Steel. If anything, it makes the character even more identifiable with the audience. By calling Kal-El a "man" without the prefix "super", the filmmakers have succeeded in presenting a more realistic approach than the old Superman movies already. But what do you think? Chris Pine's Crazy Adventures in Moscow

Chris Pine did his first post-Star Trek Into Darkness appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. He had a little bit of a scruff going on, which looks very good on him.

The interview starts with Jimmy asking about the pros and cons of travelling all over the world to promote Star Trek Into Darkness. Chris says that the one thing he liked was visiting all those places, but he wasn't too pleased with Moscow. Apart from not understanding the language, he felt that he was ripped off for paying $200 for a chicken breast and two rounds of scotch. Yikes!

But Chris' adventures in Moscow didn't end there. Did you know that he got to the premiere to Star Trek Into Darkness via the subway? And some guy got a kick in the gut because of him?

While in New York City promoting the return of their series Arrested Development, Will Arnett and Jason Bateman also showed off their bromance with some sweet and silly PDA while enjoying a walk earlier today.

The hand-holding duo were snapped strolling the streets together, each taking in the view of the Big Apple as they clasped on tight to each other.

Arnett, who also took time to talk to us about his other new show, and Bateman were in NYC to hand out some frozen bananas with nuts from the famed Bluth's Original Frozen Banana Stand.

The Daily Mail reports that Christopher Nolan has been approached to direct the next Bond movie starring Daniel Craig. The talks between The Dark Knight trilogy director and producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G.Wilson is still on its early stages. Nothing formal yet. However, The Daily Mail also points out a few valid reasons as to why Nolan might pass on the offer. Read on!

Christopher Nolan has been approached to direct the next 007 movie.

It’s early days, but informal talks have begun between Nolan, his representatives and the powers behind the James Bond pictures, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G .Wilson.

Nolan, who made the Batman trilogy Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises — and had time for Inception in between — would be a cool choice after Sam Mendes decided not to shoot Bond 24.

Following the amazing box-office and critical success of Skyfall, Mendes was close to saying ‘yes’ to the next instalment, but had to withdraw because of his theatre commitments Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and King Lear with Simon Russell Beale at the National Theatre.

Also, a lot of unconfirmed chatter has started about Mendes running the National Theatre once Sir Nicholas Hytner steps down in March 2015 after a glorious decade at the helm of the theatrical powerhouse on the South Bank.

There are all sorts of reasons why Nolan might not want to do the next Bond film, though he is known to be an admirer of Bond star Daniel Craig.

For starters, he’s in pre-production of his own next big film, Interstellar, with Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain, and he might prefer not to go straight from one huge production into another.

Mendes told me that there would be at least a year to 18 months of pre-production preparation and then six months of filming involved in Bond 24, and the producers want to shoot the follow-up soon after.

The Incredibles creator Brad Bird has said before that he was willing to make a second film, if he had assembled all the right pieces together. He has stated that he's not interested in continuing the story just for the sake of it. The Hollywood Reporter follows up on The Incredibles 2's status by asking Bird if we're ever going to see the super-family again. Read on!

I have been thinking about it. People think that I have not been, but I have. Because I love those characters and love that world. I am stroking my chin and scratching my head. I have many, many elements that I think would work really well in another [Incredibles] film, and if I can get ‘em to click all together, I would probably wanna do that. Sly's weird tweets!

Sylvester Stallone has tweeted that one of the original Expendables is returning in the third installment. Hint: he loved bikes and tattoos. If you're thinking of Mickey Rourke, you've guessed it!

Another name he mentioned was "Antonio B.," which sounds conveniently similar to Antonio Banderas. Banderas was reportedly offered a role in EX2, along with Jackie Chan, but they had other commitments. Sly is giving them another chance and maybe they should accept.

Finally, Stallone compared his franchise to The Raid Redemption, which he thinks was an "excellent film." Tweets below!

Emma Watson looks totally gorgeous in a photoshoot she did for W magazine. As you can see from the image below, the word "teen" doesn't suit her anymore! Speaking of childhood, Watson says that the first movie she ever saw was Pretty Woman, back when she was 7 years old. I'm not sure that qualifies as good parenting, but let's not be too harsh! She turned out alright. Actually, Emma to star in the long awaited Fifty Shades of Grey film adaptation because she felt the story was too inappropriate. Read on!

What is the first movie you remember seeing?

Pretty Woman. I was 7, which was way, way too young. That was when I started loving Julia Roberts and American movies. As a child, I loved being onstage. I loved singing, I loved the lights, I loved the adrenaline. I even loved learning lines. I was completely obsessive. A friend of my mother’s found a tape of me auditioning for Hermione. I wanted to get really, really good at my lines. There was reel after reel, take after take, of me doing the same thing over and over again.

How old were you?

Nine. I was crazy. I did eight auditions, and I would literally sit by the telephone in my house and wait for each call. When they had me in for the ninth audition, I was like, Wow, nine! They called me into the producer David Heyman’s office, and he said I was the “preferred” candidate for the role. Before I could obsess over what “preferred” meant, they took a photograph of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and me, and it was broadcast on the Internet that we had been cast in Harry Potter. By the time I got back to my house, there was press waiting outside. We moved straight into a hotel.

Did you ever feel the pressure of having to be a shining example to young girls worldwide?

I was always a very serious child. I remember being 13 and girls in my class saying, “So-and-so is going to kiss so-and-so on the school fields.” I said, “That’s stupid. They’re too young for it to matter—he doesn’t love her, and that’s just a waste of time.” It’s amazing that I had any friends! [Laughs] So I was the right child to get cast: I loved the responsibility.

Did you have your first kiss on camera?

Thankfully, no. I’ve always been fascinated by Elizabeth Taylor, and I had read that her first kiss happened on a film set, which actually made me a little sad. You need to have normal experiences of your own. I’ve never wanted to grow up too fast: I wanted to wear a sports bra until I was 22! The allure of being sexy never really held any excitement for me. I’ve never been in a terrible rush to be seen as a woman.

When did you realize you were famous?

I lived in denial for as long as I possibly could. Until the age of 18, I would take the Oxford Tube, which is a public bus. Then it got to the point where the fact that I was on the bus would spread from one end to the other. I’d think, Why am I doing this to myself? Ignoring fame was my rebellion, in a funny way. I was insistent on being normal and doing normal things. It probably wasn’t advisable to go to college in America and room with a complete stranger. And it probably wasn’t wise to share a bathroom with eight other people in a coed dorm. Looking back, that was crazy.

My cinematic crush has been pretty much the same since I was 12: Kevin Costner. I met him in an elevator the other day, and I couldn’t even speak. He said hello, because he is lovely like that, and I couldn’t say anything back.

Jeremy Renner Won't Return as Hawkeye. True or False?

Could that be Jeremy Renner's worst decision ever?

There is a rumor going around on the web, claiming that Jeremy Renner will not come back as Hawkeye in any of Marvel's upcoming movies. Details below!

Why is this? One of The Daily SuperHero's Hollywood sources might have that answer but we'll get to that in a moment.

It all started when actor Jeremy Renner may have dug himself into a hole, with Marvel, talking bad about his character's involvement in The Avengers.

"For 90 percent of the movie, I'm not the character I signed on to play," Renner said to Total Film. "It's kind of a vacancy. [He's] not even a bad guy, because there's not really a consciousness to him. To take away who that character is and just have him be this robot, essentially, and have him be this minion for evil that Loki uses ... I was limited, you know what I mean? I was a terminator in a way. Fun stunts. But is there any sort of emotional content or thought process? No."

No surprise since Hawkeye has not been mentioned once in Marvel's Phase 2 by studio president Kevin Feige or Phase 2 helmer Joss Whedon. Renner's best chance to reprise his character—pre-Avengers 2—would've been in the heavily S.H.I.E.L.D. featured Captain America: The Winter Soldier. But with new S.H.I.E.L.D. additions Agent 13 and the Falcon being introduced, Hawkeye would have once again been more in the background and probably continuing to anger Renner.

Even though nothing official has been said about Hawkeye's involvement in The Avengers 2, Whedon has said he will introduce a new brother/sister duo to the superhero ensemble team. More reasoning that Renner's days are over because the hero depth chart is filling up fast and there might not be any room for the archer.

The source hints that there's the tiniest chance Renner will reprise his role in The Avengers Sequel but the source also said there is a greater chance Hawkeye will be recast (like War Machine and the Hulk have been recast before). Finally, the source said if Hawkeye is to be recast there is a solid chance he could be incorporated into the new television show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as a primary character.

The 1990's classic Judge Dredd's remake (Dredd, 2012) starring Karl Urban didn't get many positive reviews. Usually, that means no more sequels. Recently, however, there were talks about continuing the franchise as either a short film or TV series. The new Dredd isn't quite finished with kicking butt and feels there can be another installment. Karl says that "it can happen" as long as fans "are vocal about it." Read on!

Interestingly enough, I did have breakfast with Alex Garland [screenwriter] this morning. It’s not off the agenda. Clearly everyone has woken up to the fact that an audience has found this movie and loves it. It’s entirely possible, and if people want to see another installment then they should be vocal about that, because, it can happen. The power of fandom can resurrect projects. In fact, that’s what happened with Star Trek. They weren’t going to do a third season until fans did a letter writing campaign and they continued that series.

"With great power comes great responsibility." Oh, wait!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is currently in production and a growing number of set photos have been leaked on the web [ha-ha. get it?]. We've already seen some of the key characters including Electro (Jamie Foxx), The Rhino (Paul Giamatti) Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), Peter Parker / Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) and Mary Jane Watson (Shailene Woodley). The pictures keep on coming up, so we decided to share a photo gallery, courtesy of Superhero Hype.

In case you were wondering about the headline, Michael Douglas and Matt Damon demonstrated their devotion to acting in Steven Soderbergh's (Magic Mike) latest movie Behind the Candelabra. The film's plot tells the love story of Liberace and his younger lover, Scott Thorson. The fact that the project is distributed by HBO should tell you that there are probably going to be very hardcore stuff. For example, Douglas and Damon simulate sex on camera, which many studios had problems with "selling", Soderbergh says [read more].

Here is what Michael Douglas thinks about having sex [simulated] with Matt, something many of their colleagues would have easily turned down:

"
"Once you get that first kiss in, you are comfortable," Douglas, 68, tells New York Magazine in a new interview. "Matt and I didn't rehearse the love scenes. We said, 'Well -- we've read the script, haven't we?'"

"The hardest thing about sex scenes is that everybody is a judge," he continues. "I don't know the last time you murdered somebody or blew anyone's brains out, but everyone has had sex and probably this morning, which means everyone has an opinion on how it should be done."

The fact that his partner in the scenes was Damon and not, say, Sharon Stone, was never an issue, the actor adds. "When I watch the movie, I forget it’s Matt and me pretty quickly," he says. "And soon after that, I forget it’s two guys. The fights, the love -- it’s a couple."

That said, there were a few boundaries Douglas wasn't comfortable pushing. "Liberace loved sex, and I didn't have a problem with that," he tells the mag. "But at one point, Steven Soderbergh wanted to show Lee [Liberace] watching a gay porno. I said, 'Steven -- you can't do this!' He said, 'It's HBO -- it's all right!' I said, 'It's not that: I'd like my kids to see this R-rated movie, but I don't want to show them a fourteen-inch d--k!'"

Douglas, married to Catherine Zeta-Jones, appears on the cover of New York Magazine's May 20 issue, where he rocks a bit of sparkly purple eyeshadow -- something he got used to during filming of the HBO film, set to air May 26. "I was the girl on this movie!" he tells the mag of Behind the Candelabra. "The hair and makeup for Liberace took two and a half hours. I've never done elaborate hair and makeup before. Up until now, my entire career has been contemporary."

Stepping outside of that comfort zone was liberating for the star, especially after his battle with stage-four throat cancer in 2011. "Cancer does give you a new rejuvenation," Douglas admits. "I know what it's like to be down. I lost a couple of good friends -- [actor] Larry Hagman and [singer-songwriter] Nick Ashford -- who had the same type of cancer that I did, and that makes you think. In the past, on purpose, I've never known what movie I'm going to do next. I never knew how I would feel when I finished a picture. Now it feels great to be back at work. Maybe that's the benefit of taking a break with cancer: Then, people say, 'What happened to him? Please come back.'"
