Today was sunny and a bit windy the day was perfect if it wasn't for that wind it woud have been better ;) I pretty much just hung out with my mom today I love spending time with her. This is pretty much what I wore today although later I changed my shoes to some beige flats because although the shoes are comfy they still slow you down plus when we have my little sister its better to be running around after her in flats rather than 6 inch heels.

Today is Valentines day this will be the 10th Valentines day my husband and I celebrate together. Its been a long time but it doesnt even seem that way we are not doing anything too special just dinner and a movie but I love doing casual things like that. However I did manage to create 2 manicures for valentines day with the help of my printer yup my printer I printed these decals and whola! one of them is a sally Hansen look alike but I found a way to do it myself lol.

This one is a sweetheart candy one which I did a similar one but with acrylic last year so I wanted to do something different this year and I chose the "love letter one " i think its so cute =)

This years we spent new years at our house since past years were always in Mexico it was fun the most important thing is that we were with family and having a good time here are some pics taken as we waited for 2012 to come. Ever since December started I have been all into the Christmas sprit and showing it on my nails lol I did not go all out and draw santa s all over them thats cute but I felt subtle was more me lol.

OPI Excuse Moi!! is part of the Muppets collection of nail polishes by OPI this color is a Pink Chunky glitter with little bits of green, blue, purple The application was easy I used 2 coats ( a lil on the heavy side) to get it to show like this on my nails it is a really beautiful color and very flashy. This is a very hungry glitter so I had to use 3 coats of top coat to make it feel smooth and to add shine now to remove this from my nails I did have some trouble of course this is a glitter and everyone knows glitters are a pain to remove.

Red jeans whoa! I love how many outfits you can pull of with these you can throw a little leopard print shoes or belt or just a white tee these jeans are a perfect way to add color to your wardrobe this fall.

You can just throw on a black tee or white one and wear alone if not chilly or throw on a jacket I think it it looks more edgy with the jacket.

I ordered these boots from forever 21.com and they finally came in so I recreated this outfit from Kourtney which in my opinion is very casual and still chic she has been wearing her Chanel ridding boots alot so when I saw these online at forever21.com I did not hesitate to order them unfortunately they are no longer available online but you can check you local forever21 to see if they carry them

I Discovered gel nail polish and I love it

what I have on are the colors simply sheer (which looks like it has a pink tint but really doesn't)

and sheek white

So I Went to Sallys Beauty supply about maybe two weeks ago and I saw this brand "gelish" I originally went to buy and orange nail polish which I didnt end but buying since I got sucked in into buying this kit they had which came with everything you need (supposedly) for $30. I also bought three colors which may I say this stuff is not cheap. A bottle of gel nail polish is $15 it was on sale for $9 which is less but still a lot for the tiny little bottle. I got home and immediately had to try it so I did. It has been 18 days and my nails still look pretty good. This is suppose to last about three weeks no chipping or dullness but by the 3rd week you can see nail growth.

The pros are!!!!

they have a pretty good variety of gel nail polish they have like 78 colors I think

It lasts quite a long time ( I still haven't seen and chipping)

its a money saver vs getting a manicure every week

great for people who are trying to grow out their nails or have very thin brittle nails ( it adds a little bit of thickness to the nails not as much as acrylics)

not as harmful as acrylics

The Cons.. tan tAn tannnn....

they are a little bit expensive (I will tell you what items you can skip in my opinion just keep reading)

can be time consuming since each coat requires it to cure under a UV lamp

watch out with the nail filling of the natural nail plate it can be damage if you file it to much

(I recommend using a nail buffer just to remove the shine and if you remove them and decide to put them back on only file the nail growth)

can be a hassle to remove them but if your into nails ahh its worth it!

In conclusion

I love the idea of gel nail polish. they look nice and clean always shiney.

The items you really need are the Foundation coat , gel nail polish, the Top it Off sealer and a UV lamp which many ebayers sell for a reasonable price. The nail cleanse and the liquid to remove it is basically nail polish remover it has acetone! To remove them all you do is file off the first coat and soak in nail polish remover until its all gone.

Oh I almost forgot to mention dont buy it from sallys unless you like to buy over priced things.

At sally s they have the minis for the same price as a regular full size gel nail polish which is $16 you can try searching amazon.com, eBay, or beautywest.com which is where I got mine it was like 30 cents less lol.

So August 8 was my birthday I love my birthday because its all 8's unfortunately im 23 now which I know is not really old but boy do I feel like time is going by so fast. I still remember when I turned 17 and I cried because I didnt want to get old wow ! I had planed to go to vegas for my birthday but you know sometimes things dont turn out the way you want them..(thats life lol) so the hubby has offered to make it up to me lets see what he surprises me with now lol

My husband brought a juicer home a while back I didn't really pay much attention to it until now I cant leave the poor juicer alone. I love it and its a great way to eat fruits and vegetables I make juice for my baby sister all the time its better for her and I know it doesn't have all that unnecessary sugar added that other juices have. I have been trying different fruits and vegetables and this one is one of my favorites.

You will need

1 mango

1 apple

1/2 orange

a little less than 1/2 a banana

and 1 slice of pineapple

I purchased this when I saw a girl on youtube use it on her hair and her hair was gorgeous I want hair like hers I said to myself. I did some research for this since I had never even heard of coconut oil and I discovered its many uses for it people use it for cooking instead of using margarine or butter this is a much healthier option, also melt it and mix it with you lotion for people who have overly dry skin, it helps improve appearance of skin they say, if you have dandruff this will help with a dry scalp, it helps get ride of fungus thats why its good to eat, some people have even claimed weight loss and it keeps your hair healthy.
I used this first on my damp hair you can heat it up a little first because it comes as a solid but melts with 75 degrees so it melts in your hands it needs no refrigeration after opening too. Anyway I chose to leave it in all night and rinse out in the next morning. You can leave it in for 20-30 min however I just wanted to make sure it penetrated into my hair well. Since this is an oil avoid to close to the scalp because after u rinse your hair will look oily (it happened to me lol ) I had to rinse more than once but if you are trying to get rid of dandruff get this all in your scalp and just make sure to rinse well with shampoo. You can also apply it and add heat with a blow dryer if you like that works too.
Also the smell is great I love the smell of coconuts but if you dont like coconuts you might not like this.
hair was shinny and manageable after wards and I do this when ever I have time twice a week and the moroccan oil mask once a week.

I made these last week and seriously I wish I had made more my dad and my hubby were all over them they loved them and they are super easy to make I must admit I love em too

2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 teaspoons salt
2 pounds ground beef
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon butter
3/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup honey
3 tablespoons soy sauce

In a large bowl combine eggs and milk. Add the bread crumbs, onion and salt. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 1-in. balls. Place in two greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pans. Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees F for 12-15 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.
Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, saute garlic in butter until tender. Stir in the ketchup, honey and soy sauce. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Drain meatballs; add to sauce. Carefully stir to evenly coat. Cook for 5-10 minutes.

this makes about 12 meatballs

Pasta E Fagioli Soup

Hey there long time no post huh sorry about that I have been busy with finals and the semester is finally over. I have been super busy finishing up the room its taking a while to finish the trims my husband chose to stain them mahogany cherry Im still not completely sold on the idea I wanted them a simple color like white but it is both of our room and we both have to like it so its ok. Im hopping that once they are done ill fall in love with them. In the mean while here is a recipe of one of my favorite soups I hope you try it out let me know how it goes.

1 lb ground beef

1 cup diced onion

1 cup julienned carrot

3 stalks celery, chopped (1 cup)

2 garlic cloves, minced

2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans diced tomatoes

1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans (with liquid)

1 (15 ounce) can great northern beans (with liquid)

1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce

1 (12 ounce) can v-8 vegetable juice

1 teaspoon vinegar

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon oregano

1 teaspoon basil

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon thyme

1/2 lb ditali pasta

1 Brown beef in a large stock pot over medium heat-drain off fat.

2 Add onion, carrot, celery and garlic and saute for 10 minutes.

3 Add remaining ingredients, except pasta, and simmer for 1 hour.

4 After 50 minutes boil pasta to al dente.

5 Drain well.

6 Add pasta to the large pot of soup and simmer for 10 minutes.

I also made some garlic bread to eat with the soup also it was delicious it serves about 8 people and takes about an hour to make

dont forget to drain the ground beef once it is fully cooked

add chopped ingredients

add the rest of the ingredients

add pasta

DIY wall stencil

So if you follow me on twitter you already know that we have been painting and fixing up parts of the house one of them being our room I wanted something different and fun. Here are some of the pics I got inspiration from. I LOVE WHITE ROOMS but lets be real here its not me by myself anymore and to keep an all white room spotless is like mission impossible for us especially with my baby sister who loves to spill things. She already wrote on one of our white walls and we had to repaint that section. lol

Remember the walls were a golden yellow color well I decided that I wanted something neutral and would look stylish and different so we painted the room and off white. We painted the room off white to give the illusion of a bigger room we also chose grey as our accent color on our wall. The room looked nice but then I decided I wanted to stencil something one first I thought of words but then I figured a design would look more unique. Instead of ordering a stencil I made my own out of paper yup paper! lol I also used a bottle or acrylic paint and one of my nail art brushes to achieve this it took me about a day and a half but it is worth it.

and there it is almost finished I would have loved to show the whole room but im not done and we are still changing trims and moving things around but i plan on showing the finished look once we are done too.

My Version of Elephant Bars Kona Cooler!!

I love going to Elephant Bar and the drink I order all the time is there Kona Kooler. When we go out with friends they always order alcoholic drinks and I always order this I don't drink alcohol never been a fan of alcohol very much but anyways I tried googling it to see if someone out there knew how to make it but I was unsuccessful. I knew it has red bull and coconut I just couldn't figure out the other ingredients so after several trys of trying to recreate this drink based on taste I think I finally got it down.

What you will need to make this drink:

Red bull

coconut cream its like syrup but coconut flavor =)

Grenadine which is also used to make shirley temples yum!

Maraschino cherries if you like just to make it look pretty lol

a big glass cup

ice

toothpick (to put the cherries on)

Its pretty self explanatory fill the cup will ice

pour the red bull then the grenadine (you don't need much I just kinda eyeball it lol) and then the coconut (according to your taste I love the coconut) and top it of with the cherries

Moroccan Oil restorative hair mask

I decided to try this hair mask after I got to try some of their products like the shine spray for a while. I loved it so much I decide to buy more moroccan oil products. I had very damaged hair it was very long but very damaged from dyeing and hair styling. My hair was breaking off and refused to grab any of the dye when I did want to dye it. So I cut the damaged ends and started using this

the hair mask is supper thick like a body butter I use this at least 4 times a month. What I do is I apply it to my damp hair in the shower leave it on for 10-15 mins I know it says 7-10 min but this works for me I wash it out and it leaves hair soft and textured not overly soft and continue my routine. I really notice the difference when my hair dry s I let mine air dry and afterwards its so shinny looks healthy and it smells great! to purchase Moroccan oil products you can visit their website and find a salon who carries it near you.

weightless on my hair

smooths hair once the hair is dry
gives manageability
no heat required

cons:

when hair is wet it does not feel incredibly soft as to when its dry

blue is really big this season well bright colors are especially color blocking. I never really worn bright colors so this outfit is a great way to start wearing colors for me I really love wearing neutrals and pastels.
