Do I need different wallpaper for each room in my house?

The main function of wallpaper is to beautify the room itself, beside the furniture, lighting, and other ornaments. And it also can cloak your imperfect wall, such as crack or wavy textured wall.

There are plenty of wallpaper’s design and motif available for you to choose. But you should remember that each room needs different type of wallpaper. Why?

Bathroom and Kitchen have the highest humidity of all other rooms. So, we need durable and scrubbable wallpaper. Vinyl coated paper and paper backed vinyl/solid vinyl are perfect for these room since they resist moisture and are stain and grease resistant. Beside that, it’s easy to clean and peels off easily from the wall.

Coated Fabric has a fabric substrate coated with liquid vinyl or acrylic. The decorative layer is printed on this coating. This wallpaper is best for use in low-humidity areas, like bedroom or any other living areas away from water source. Embossed papers like Analgylpta and Lyncresta make great borders and ceiling papers.

As you can see, different areas of the home require different types of wallpaper.

To keep wallpaper clean, you need to vacuum it regularly, you may use a broom wrapped with a soft cotton or a vacuum cleaner with soft brush. If your wallpaper is washable (most wallpapers are washable), you should clean it with mild soapy water and a sponge. Then rinse with a sponge of cool water and pat the wall dry with a clean, dry cotton or terrycloth towel to remove any moisture from the paper.

For fabric wallpaper, you need to test it to see if the fabric will stain when it is wet. Or you may use a commercial wallpaper cleaner that is safe for these kind of wallpapers.
Still, it is much better to vacuum it regularly to clean any dust and dirt that’s accumulated.

White is my color! Bags, shoes, shirt, dress or any accessories, you name it! But since I am not careful enough to maintain its whiteness, or even immediately clean a little spot here and there.. so I choose darker color for my daily life. Surely 'white' needs special care and attention.
Hmm..what if we apply white in bedroom?

Modern Kitchen Design with contemporer touch

In modern kitchen design, mostly they use clean/metalic surface such as stainless steel, copper, or chrome as table top or counter top. Overall, they are bold, translucent, and frameless.
The touch of this material immediately can make you feel modern. For me, it makes me feel like in spaceship, very cool, huh? (LOL). Look at these pictures!

We can soften the modern look by applying woods on the cabinet and floor, it still looks modern, though!

We agree that yellow color denotes cheerfulness, spontaneous, and joy. If this 'happy' color is used with perfect touch can bring such happiness in the room. Just imagine your children are sitting or just lying in these room, it can boost your children's mood into joy just like the energy of a bright sunny day, making it active and alert.

Tips for using yellow in room:
1. If you want a clarity for decision-making.
2. If you want a relief from panic and 'burnout'
3. For sharper memory and concentration.

Small but spacious for Kids' room

The room was small, but it's so spacious. It's suitable for small house that only has 'tiny' rooms.
Look at the first picture. This room can fit two beds, upper and lower part. The lower part can be functioned as a sitting room and even the stairs were made up with boxes that you can put your kids' toys or books in there. The rug that's placed on the floor added some value of harmony and cozy touch.

The second picture got an idea of how to make the bed more utilized. They saved the room's space by 'putting' a desk behind a bed. The idea of arranging the cabinet to make a stair to the upper part of the bed was brilliant(same as the first picture)!

The psychology of color and how color affects human behavior is now a serious study. Classrooms, hospital rooms, restaurants, office rooms are painted in color to influence the behavior and mood of the people who use these rooms. Even companies package their products in special color to attract your attention and encourage you to buy. What about your home environments? Do you use colors?

Red is known to stimulate the appetite, and it’s a perfect color for dining rooms. While blue and green are the colors of nature and could be popular for bedrooms. Yellow and orange are energizing like the sun, it should be better in kitchen. Terracotta (brownish-red/orange) can be ideal in a home office, it has the energizing effect of both red and orange but isn’t so bright that you won’t be able to stay at your desk.

Strong colours are best confined to the rooms that have less usage such as. No one spends much time in these rooms, so you can afford to be bold. Just because these spaces may be small or narrow, don’t be afraid of using vivid color, maybe by painting the space dark burgundy or navy? A touch of aqua might be the finishing touch. Decide on your main color and then add carefully selected accents.

If you’re stuck for ideas when trying to decide what color scheme to choose for a room, look at the furniture and objects you want to use. Many interior designers build up complex color schemes from just one item.

In contemporary culture the term “baroque” is also commonly used to describe any artistic style that could be extremely elaborate, ornamented or adorned. In reality, the modern usage of baroque has nothing or very little to do with classic baroque, even though many people are unaware of the distinction.Modernism is about architecture according to a stripped down functionalist aesthetic ,specifically avoiding applied classically derived ornament .

Postmodernism is a reactionary response to modernism, in which the aesthetic consciously uses historical references, often in the form of abstracted classicism, in an attempt to produce a more culturally connected expression.

Postmodern architecture is an international style whose first examples are generally cited as being from the 1950s, and which continues to influence present-day architecture. Postmodernity in architecture is generally thought to be heralded by the return of “wit, ornament and reference” to architecture in response to the formalism of the International Style of modernism. As with many cultural movements, some of postmodernism’s most pronounced and visible ideas can be seen in architecture. The functional and formalized shapes and spaces of the modernist movement are replaced by unapologetically diverse aesthetics: styles collide, form is adopted for its own sake, and new ways of viewing familiar styles and space abound.

Modernist architects regard post-modern buildings as vulgar and cluttered with “gew-gaws”. Postmodern architects often regard modern spaces as soulless and bland. The divergence in opinions comes down to a difference in goals: modernism is rooted in minimal and true use of material as well as absence of ornament, while postmodernism is a rejection of strict rules set by the early modernists and seeks exuberance in the use of building techniques, angles, and stylistic references.

That chair is the perfect expression of what’s going on right now,” said Calgary-based interior designer Monica Stevens, who had flown into town for the recent four-day event. “It’s a bergère, but it’s acrylic.
It’s a sign of the times. It’s the minimal shape, but it’s luxurious.”

Call it nouveau traditional. But there’s nothing staid about this new interior design aesthetic. It’s about reinterpreting tradition from a contemporary perspective: A Louis XVI chair becomes thoroughly modern in clear polycarbonate; a wallpapered den looks perfectly 21st- century with a wallpapered ceiling, and an otherwise low-key sitting room reverberates anew with lemon walls.

It’s about clutter. It’s about putting lots of things together; it can be rococo, baroque, mixed with something personal. It’s full of surprises. It really harks back to the excesses of the 19th-century boudoir.

Interior design is a profession concerned with anything that is found inside a space - walls, windows, doors, finishes, textures, light, furnishings and furniture. All of these elements are used by interior designers to develop a functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing space for a building's user.

The work of an interior designer draws upon many disciplines including environmental psychology, architecture, product design, and traditional decoration (aesthetics and cosmetics). They plan the spaces of almost every type of building including: hotels, corporate spaces, schools, hospitals, private residences, shopping malls, restaurants, theaters, and airport terminals. Today, interior designers must be attuned to architectural detailing including floor plans, home renovations, and construction codes. Some interior designers are architects as well.
