Vogue UK is having a double spin-off of fab. Kate VS Cara. Kate Moss, legendary supermodel is on the cover of Vogue UK. After having a great year last year walking some of the hottest runways, Kate (dubbed the "new Kate Moss") is really making it big - for a 39-year-old.

Cara - following in hot pursuit - is the hottest model of the moment. Beautiful, incredibly sexy, she's one of my fashion icons.

LESSONS LEARNT: RECAP OF THE WEEK

This has been a hectic week. Yesterday I wrote a math test which shook me awake. I cannot believe I have less than a month until the June exams!
One lesson I definitely learnt – the hard way – is that matric is the one year that you have to sacrifice. You sacrifice time, friends, social life, family the list goes on. This is really the last chance I get to turn my life around. Granted, I am taking a gap year – to work on my fashion portfolio. I believe I can make a difference in this industry. I want to change people’s perspective of this industry. It’s not all superficial and glamorous. It’s hard work – sweat and tears. I want everyone to love fashion. To adore it the way I do. This is my motivation to work hard at school. Success is my middle name.
Another lesson learnt is that in order to be your best you have to get rid of the negative energies in your life. For me it was the people. I had to shed friends because they were no good for me. I uncluttered my life of the people who were unbeneficial to my life. It feels good to know that I only have strong support structures in my life and nothing to bring me down.

Make positive changes in your life. You only have one. Don’t let petty people ruin it for you.
I wish you all the best for your future endeavours.

FASHION FIND: FASHION’S FINEST GOES PUNK.

Moda Operandi has recently collaborated with twelve of fashion’s powerhouses to create a line dedicated to the art of punk. Moda Operandi, an online store that I have been obsessed with for the past month, has recently hooked up with brands such as Balmain, Dolce and Gabbana, Givenchy, Prabal Gurung, Rodarte, Moschino, Tom Binns, Zana Bain, Thom Browne and Vivienne Westwood are just a few of the fantastic fashion extraordinaires to gift Moda with their talent. However the range can be a bit pricey going from a meager $100 to a wopping $13000. Quality does not come cheap. The pieces are beautifully put together. It is not punk in a stereotypical way and if you're not wholly into punk, there are high fashion pieces that can fill up your wardrobe. Statement items that can really put an outfit together.

It is really worth a look to go and see what is on offer. I love it. I’m sure you will too!

I recently read an article on 6B - the new online magazine dedicated to the youth.

It was an article by Shades Of Gold blogger - Talya Goldberg. Her blog is absolutely brilliant and so when I came across the article it was a must read. Her advice made me think about what my future for the blog is and where I want to go with it. Yes, I started as a small, hobby initiated blog. But now I feel that I want more. I want to expand make this blog into a brand - that's where you come in. Spread the word, send me feedback. There's nothing more I want than your opinions of the blog. Send the love. I would love to give you my all.

I'm all for the people. For now, I'm all for maths. Where trig functions and analytical geometry await! Goodluck to us.

Quickie - Matric Dance.

A few weeks ago I had my matric dance. It was a magical night filled with happiness and laughter and some beautiful surprises. It was wonderful and I really enjoyed myself. However, as with anything - the after party was the best part. It may not have been as magical as the night, but it was A LOT of fun.

I made my dress myself - with the help of my seamstress. It was a plain dress inspired by an Anne Barge bridal dress that I saw. I altered it to my own likes and this was the final product.
Hopefully next year I'll be working on the most fantastic fashion portfolio for fashion school. Who knows? I could even be accepted abroad.

If you're reading this I'm probably up to my neck in studies and projects - wish me luck!

Just a Phase?

A lot of people have been commenting about how I don't blog as much as I used to. I never really blogged much before, but this is just too much. I've also been getting emails from my loyal fans (shout-out to America and Sweden!) saying that they're disappointed in my lack-luster approach to blogging. However I'm going to make a change! It's a new year and this is a busy year. MATRIC WOOHOO. So please, bear with me. It's just one of those things.

And to all my friends who have doubted me and said this is "just a phase" I have news for you. Blogging has been such a wonderful experience and I wouldn't want to do anything else. So before we move on, I would just like to say: I'M HERE TO STAY.
So to all of you beautiful fashionista's and all my loyal fans, this is going to be a blessed year and we're gonna make it wonderful. There are a lot of trends I want to discuss, mainly fur and leather. I see beautiful futures for you. But for now, its workworkwork time.

I have always loved fashion, and I feel a bit redundant repeating this in my posts. Of course I do, with the blog and all. However, I feel sometimes I don't fit this mold of the "fashion blogger".
I have never been ashamed about my size. It's always been like this, I'm big and I've learnt to accept it. However, it does get to me sometimes. My size has always been a factor in whether or not I do something. I feel ashamed that I'm not skinny like all my friends, and it makes me feel horrific. I feel like an outcast sometimes. In the moment I'll feel fantastic and confident. But at the end of the night, when I've looked at the photos of the night, it gets to me. All my perfect skinny friends smiling and pretty and there I am, looking like a heffalump (dressed fabulously, of course). It makes me wonder how other people perceive me. Do they think the way I do? Or do they see a completely different person than what I'm trying to portray. I love myself - self acceptance is something I believe everyone should have - but is it enough?
Looking at other local bloggers (Tony Gum, Superficial Girl, Baked, Fashion Breed.. even Liam Anthony) and international bloggers (She Wears Fashion, Intrigue Me Now, COTTDS..) they're all skinny. So do I fit in this category of the fashion blogger? I believe that the size of the actual blogger shouldn't define the success of the blog, but the actual blog itself.
Self acceptance is very important. I just hope I can help another girl see that being into fashion isn't just a skinny girl thing. Yes there are moments of weakness, and I know that my lifestyle is horrific for my health. But it shouldn't define me - or you.

This is a deep post, but hopefully I got a message out to you.

Lana is at it again. I know I've posted about her before, but she deserves a repost.

My god is this woman talented. Not only is she a gifted artist, but she's a brilliant fashionista (though I think a gangster Nancy Sinatra is a bit overrated). She's really grown wildly popular.

Even if I may be tooting my own horn, I'm glad to say I'm one of her firsts (yippeee).

However, a dedication is overdue for this talented lady.

Take some advice from her. Because her hair is always perfect.

Fashion and life are big part of my life. I truly love it and believe that this path will take me far in life. That is why, after high school, I will pursue a career in fashion. I hope to make a change in the industry, because fashion is not just clothing. It's a lifestyle.

My icons in fashion and growing up have always been Mary-Kate and Ashley.
They've been part of my life in movies and books and paraphernalia - call them my childhood Justin Bieber. They've really grown up and have joined the fashion circle and really have done it proud. People judge and watch tween stars who join the industry closely because we want to see if they'll do it justice. I must admit that their brands (The ROW, Olsenboye, Style Mint and Ashley's own line, Elizabeth and James) are quite brilliant and have really shown promise.
So as a tribute to my favourite child stars who have taken their millions and done it to a worthy fashion cause, here it is.

Honey, Please Hide Yo Underwear.

I honestly think intelligence ceases to exist in most people. But you really can't help the crazy things you do when in love...

One thing I've noticed A LOT lately is that girls, not just boys, reveal their underwear. It's disgusting and so un-classy to be honest. I see girls with beautiful dresses and their hot pink bra strap is showing. Honey, it ruins the allure of the the outfit.
Not trying to be mean, but it's the truth. And don't let me get started on the VPL. Geeezuz, it's like you don't have best friends or caring mothers the way your underwear shows.
Dressing beautifully is great, but don't let your underwear ruin a great dress or a fantastic pair of pants.
There are easy fixes to this dilemma. Namely safety pins, or sew little inserts into your shirts (just find a fabric in your shirt's respective colour and tada, sew a little hook) or JUST BUY YOUR CORRECT SIZE. It won't hurt anyone if you buy your correct size, you're just fooling yourself.

The funny thing about life is that it takes you by surprise. You never know whats going to happen, let alone when. So this is a dedication to the people who are living life as it comes. Because let's face it, life's too short to live wondering what's going to happen next.

Fashion is an experiment. It's something you can try and play with and eventually find a new style. My whole life I've been experimenting with fashion and styles. I guess it's my personality that helps me to be a fashion chameleon. I love experimenting and being wild. However, right now, my personality is changing to that of a more calmer state. I want to be able to reflect a more classic way of dressing. I'm talking tailored clothing. Classic pants, shirts, tailored skirts. It's a new me and I want to reflect it.
I got this mindset of dressing when I was looking at a Guy Laroche fashion show, on FTV. His brilliant portrayal of classic tailoring mixed with strong cuts and some bold colours made me want to adopt this way of dressing.

Wish me luck in my new style change. Let's hope I can actually keep it!

How beautiful is white? So serene and peaceful. Fun and flirty. Light and precious. When worn well, it goes with any skin tone but is especially gorgeous on tanned skin. MARVELOUS.

I'm so addicted to white. All I want right now is a white wrap dress. And a swim suit. And EVERYTHING else of mine in white.

Right now I'm high on Rescue Remedy and everything feels so goooood.
I wrote such a beautiful song for my friend Layla today and she disapproved. Her loss.
I wrote history today. It was okay. I may jinx myself, but that may have been an excellent start to the exam period. Honestly. I just hope life sciences is ready for my knowledge. And maths.

I should start a section called Dirty Rambles. I think I might. I enjoy rambling.

I met Nicci St Bruce and Paul Ward (from Bitches Must Know - if you didn't know that, then I don't know anymore) today. They are all so good-looking.
Can't wait to receive the BMK crew neck :D
I actually bought it for my brother, but I like it more, so I'll end up owning it - I'm so sneaky (mwahahaha!).
I'm rambling on about nonsense. Sigh.
I wish I had a camera with me today, I saw such amazing street fashion in the CBD.
I was all hippy-like. With a twist of gangster. And again, I should've had a camera with, so I could show you.

Kim Kardashian - My New Honest Opinion.

Personality wise Kim was never my favourite person. I have, however, loved her fashion choices. Over the years I have admired her style and effortless looks she pulled off.
She was a role model for curvy girls, she made it look great to be curvy. She made me want to live a lifestyle like hers, even though it sounds superficial. She was the epitome of fashion for me.

Right now though... It's a new story. She's just went downhill and her style is deteriorating rapidly. I honestly don't know what to think anymore.
Sometimes I see a spark of genius, but right now its just not going anywhere for me.
Sometimes I feel like punching the fashion back into her.
Call me crazy, but it's true.

Please, Fashion Gods: I understand she's not a morally correct person, but please grant her some new fashion choices. Please bring us the old Kim :(

One trend I'm really hoping that will lift off for summer is art-like prints in clothing.
I've been researching art and art elements for some personal knowledge, and I've just fallen in love with the abstract patterns and prints of art.
Art is a form of expression and is something that you fall in love with immediately. It's something brilliant to appreciate and we can all agree that it can be beautiful. So, in my greatest dream of dreams, I just wish and pray and hope that people will take one form of beautiful art and translate it onto a canvas, that is your everyday outfit.
This is a rich trend that will translate excellently into Summer and Summer trends.
Cross fingers, because I think this will be a big one!

The designer that likes to take modern concepts and put it into fashion (remember those Olympics slogan T's for Topshop?). Well he's at it again taking the common school-girl concept, with an edgy twist.
I love this because it mixes casual and comfortable with couture. The perfect blend of denim and (my favourite colour) glitter.
I would definitely splurge on the hoodies and oversized jeans.
This is a look to wear.
