NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct., 2008) – Infiniti announced pricing on the 2009 Infiniti G37 Sedan and Infiniti G37 Coupe, which go on sale at Infiniti dealers nationwide on November 5, 2008. Both the G37 Sedan and G37 Coupe receive extensive revisions for the new model year:

Four models are available for both Sedan and Coupe, including Sport models with 6-speed manual transmissions.

Infiniti Expects the JX to be the Second-Best Seller behind G Sedan, Coupe

Like many other Japanese auto makers, Infiniti was affected by the earthquakes and tsunamis that ensued shortly after earlier this year. Sales figures for many of Infinitis models declined with the exception of the ever-stalwart G sedan and coupe and the QX SUV. However, company officials believe the recently-introduced JX crossover will pick up the slack of other slumping models and will play second fiddle only to the popular G lineup.

“It will be our second best-seller this year, right

behind (the) G (lineup),” Ben Poore, vice president of Infiniti for Nissan North America told WardsAuto. “We want volume on this product.”
Infiniti isn’t putting a sales target on the JX’s back quite yet, but they expect the new crossover to compete with the likes of the Acura MDX and the Lexus RX. Last year Infiniti sold 58,246 G sedans and coupes followed by 13,428 QX SUVs, a sharp drop-off between its best and second best seller. Infiniti believes the JX will split the difference and sit somewhere between the G lineup and QX in sales numbers.
The JX will start at $40,450, minus the $950 destination and handling fee. The 2012 MDX starts at

$42,930, while the 2012 RX starts at $39,075. The JX and MDX can fit seven passengers while the Lexus can only hold five.
The JX will be built at Nissan’s Smyrna, Tennessee facility which is a first for the Japanese auto maker. Infiniti also hopes that with the JX being assembled in North America, it will be able to pick up the pace that was dispirited because of the natural disasters that affected Japan.
The JX will be tagged as a 2013 model and will begin appearing at dealerships in March of this year.

83% to 3.28% a year.” (Source: University of Michigan)If we were to analyze this statement, then it is quite reasonable to analyze the assumptions behind this statement. Is it truly realistic to think that anybody’s luck would be so bad as to miss the best 90 days over 30 years even if they chose to be in and out of the market at certain times. What are the chances that they would miss all 90 of the best performing days? One in a million? See how deeply flawed this argument is. And this is the argument that financial consultants always use to sell you in staying fully invested. In fact, this selling point is often combined with the strategy of Modern Portfolio Theory, the name in of itself which is a misnomer. “Modern” portfolio theory was once revolutionary, when it was developed, back in the early 1950’s. In simple terms, modern portfolio theory calls for diversification of your stock positions across various sectors and industries to offset the potential of a poorly performing sector. In other words if you own stocks in trucking and shipping companies, then you might want to own oil companies as well, because if oil companies lag, then that translates into cheaper fuel costs for trucking and shipping companies, and this sector should offset lagging performance in the oil industry. The only problem with this theory is that you are not trying to create a zero sum game with your stock portfolio, but instead, trying to consistently find winners. The big firms will tell you that it’s impossible to predict what industries will be up in certain years and what industries will be down, so that is why Modern Portfolio Theory is necessary. Again, I view this is a myth designed to build smoke screens to confuse the average investor. In today’s information technology age, access to information is so good that it is possible to predict what sectors will trend upward in a given year, and even to predict at times, what sub sector within those sectors will trend upward. But as I mentioned before, this takes time, and time is money with big investment firms.
In fact, access to information is so good today, that to stay ahead of the investment curve, every firm should be teaching their financial consultants how to access information through blogs, government websites, company websites, and political and technology websites instead of pounding outdated concepts into their brain. The information technology revolution is precisely why independent financial consultants have earned 20% gains for their clients during times the S&P was down more than 20%. Big investment houses will tell you that individual stock selection is not nearly as important to your performance as being invested in the right sectors. This is another myth. If you really give this more than two seconds thought, does this statement make any sense? Do you truly believe that if you own a mining company in Canada versus one in the United States that may own rights to drill in completely different geographical locations that this will not matter to the stock price of these two companies? Do you really think that if you own internet companies in India versus internet companies in Japan, that the vastly different stages in the growth cycle of this industry between these two countries will not make a difference to the performance of your portfolio? Do you truly believe that if you invest in nanotechnology firms with a world leader like the U.S. versus nanotechnology firms in Russia, that it doesn’t make a difference? I could go on endlessly about just how ludicrous this statement really is.
Performance of your stock portfolio is all about selecting the right STOCKS in the right SECTORS in the right COUNTRIES at the right TIME. So why do investment firms work so hard to convince you otherwise? For the most part, because they don’t teach their financial consultants how to be great stock advisors and how to identify opportunities in the global markets that will maximize the returns in your portfolio. They teach them to be great salesmen and saleswomen and great marketing gurus. If you are truly serious about maximizing the returns in your stock portfolio, the simple truth is that you probably want to stay as far away from the mainstream firms as you can. Either learn how to use accessible information to earn superior returns yourself or find a financial consultant who will. It's important to understand that your risk profile is really comprised of two aspects: your risk attitude and your risk capacity. Risk attitude is the true measure of your personal comfort with risk. Are you willing to risk a less favourable outcome whilst attempting to achieve a more favourable one? (risk vs return).
Risk capacity is your ability to sustain a less favourable outcome without jeopardising your original goals and objectives. Risk capacity is affected by factors such as time horizon (allowing you time to recover from an adverse return) and total wealth (allowing you to go through a decline in account value and still maintain your desired spending).
The two areas are as important as each other and it is vital that you take both into account when making important investment decisions. For example, if your risk attitude means that you could sustain a 25% market decline without any impact on your goals, the appropriate portfolio may contain 60-80% equities.
However, if your risk attitude measure indicates that any decline in excess of 10% would cause you cold sweats and sleepless nights, then the 60-80% equity portfolio is clearly not the right approach. Instead, you should be invested into a portfolio with a lower percentage of equities.
So, how can you address your full risk profile?
There are two keys:
First, you must obtain a true measure of your risk attitude.
This can be obtained by using a comprehensive risk profiling system. You won't be able to achieve this by second guessing it yourself, as it's highly unlikely you'll know enough for the assessment to be successful. You should speak to your Financial Adviser/Planner and ask them what they're using. One of the most comprehensive tools is provided by FinaMetrica. You should then make sure you interpret the score correctly and are able to act upon the information effectively.

The alternative approach is that you remain invested in a higher percentage of equities, but prepare yourself that you may need to adjust your goals (retire later, spend less, spend more, etc) if the portfolio value falls too much. Of course, you may reach your goals sooner if the higher risk portfolio grows at a faster rate than the lower risk portfolio.

When you break it all down, it's more than likely that you're trying to achieve your goals and objectives in some form. And most people would rather try and reach their goals with the minimum amount of risk (yes, note I said some people - there'll always be the risk takers amongst us).
