Rules for Sacrifice on Eid ul Adha

Rules for Sacrifice on Eid ul Adha must be followed by every Muslim. Muslims celebrate two days in a year as their religious festivals. One is the day of Eid ul Fitr and second Eid ul Adha. Eid ul Fitr comes after the holy month of Ramadan and Eid ul Adha comes after the great pilgrimage of Hajj. Eid ul Adha is also the day of sacrifice for Muslims. Muslims revive the Sunnah of their father Hazrat Ibrahim and slaughter animals in the way of Allah. Muslims spend their whole life is according to the laws of the Quran and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet. That’s why Muslims must be followed the following Rules for sacrifice on Eid ul Adha.

1 The Person Must Be Sensible.

The person who slaughters an animal must be sensible. The sacrifice of an insane and drunk person is not valid and not acceptable by Allah.

2 The intention of a person is to slaughter the animal.

The other important condition for slaughtering an animal is that the intention to slaughter. The Quran says إنما الأعمال بالنيات”. if the animal is not intended to be slaughtered, that sacrifice is not halal.

3 The animal should be Sacrifice for the name of Allah.

Whenever we slaughter an animal, even other then Eid ul Adha, we should always slaughter these animals for the name of Allah. If any person slaughters the animal other then the name of Allah, like (idol, grave) then such an animal will become unlawful.

Allah said in Quran: Dead and blood are forbidden to you ......... and animals slaughtered in places of worship are also forbidden to you. (Surat al-Ma'ida, verse no. 03)

The Prophet Muhammad also said that: لَعَنَ اللهُ مَنْ ذَبَحَ لِغَيْرِ اللهِ, Allah curses the person who slaughtered the animal for other than Allah. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 1978)

4 The person who slaughters the animal must say Takbeer (the name of Allah)

At the time of slaughter, it is compulsory for the person who slaughters an animal call the name of Allah while running a knife over its neck. Allah said: فَكُلُوا مِمَّا ذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ بِآياتِهِ مُؤْمِنِينَ۔ If you are a believer, eat the animal on which the name of Allah has been mentioned. (Surat al-An'am: 118). It is necessary for a person to recite the name of Allah while slaughtering an animal.

5 Slaughter the animal with sharp tools

The use of sharp tools are also one of the main conditions for slaughtering an animal. If any person kills an animal with something other then sharp tools, like, strangulation, electrocution, or a head injury, the slaughter of such a person would not be halal.

6 The animal must be in Good Condition

The animals who are sacrificed on Eid ul Adha must be in a good condition and must attain the age of sacrifice according to the Sharia. In the case of female animals, it is necessary to check the pregnancy of that animal. if a female animal is pregnant then it will not be eligible for sacrifice.

7 Slaughtering an animal who is religiously permitted.

If an animal is not allowed to be slaughtered according to the shari'ah it will clearly haram in Islam. But in some conditions halal animals also prohibited to be slaughtered.

Stolen or snatched animal.

As if that animal was stolen, or someone snatched that animal from someone. The scholars differ on this point. According to one point of view, such an animal is halal. According to another group, such an animal is haraam.

if the animal is stolen, then whoever knows that the animal is stolen, then that animal is going to be haraam for them. And for those that don't know, that animal or stolen or snatched will be lawful. Allah knows best!

"احرام":

جب حاجی مکہ میں مسجد حرام تک پہنچےتو حاجی کو پاک ٖٖصاف ہونا چاہئے اور صرف سفید کپڑے کی دو چادروں کو پہننا چاہئے جو مردوں کے لئے سلایی کیا ہوا نہ ہو۔ جبکہ خواتین پورے جسم کو ڈھانپنے والے کپڑے پہنے، سوائے ہاتھوں اور چہرے کے۔

حجاج کرام کو خود خوشبو نہیں لگانی چاہئے یا اپنے بالوں یا ناخن کو کاٹنا نہیں چاہئے۔ انہیں ہر طرح کے جھگڑوں اور تمام جنسی تعلقات سے بھی باز رہنا چاہئے۔

"طواف":

مکہ پہنچنے پر کعبہ کے گرد سات بار اللہ کو یاد کرتے ہوے چکر لگانے کو طواف کہتے ہیں۔ کعبہ کے آس پاس عظیم مسجد تعمیر ہوئی ہے جس میں کافی زیادہ مقدس مقامات شامل ہیں۔ اور اس سمت میں مسلمان دن میں پانچ وقت نماز پڑھتے ہیں۔ طواف کا ہر چکر حجراسود سے شروع ہوتا ہے اور وہاں پر ہی ختم ہوتا ہے۔ اگر ہوسکے تو حاجی کعبہ کے ایک کونے میں لگاے ہوئے سیاہ پتھر حجراسود کو ہرچکر کے بعد چھوتا اور بوسہ دیتا ہے۔ لیکن آج کل حکومت سعودی عرب نے کوویڈ 19 کی وجہ سے حاجی کو حجراسود کو چھونے اور گلاف کعبہ کو بوسہ دینے سے منع کر دیا ہے۔

"سعی":

کیا حج یا عمرہ کرنے کے لئے حجراسود کو چھونا لازمی ہے؟

حجراسود کو چھونا یا بوسہ لینا حج یا عمرہ کرنا لازمی نہیں ہے۔ کچھ حجاج جب حجراسود جو کہ جنوب مشرقی زاویہ (کعبہ) میں ھے اس کو چھوتے ہیں تو ایسا لگتا ھے جیسے خود کو تکلیف دے رہے ہیں۔ یہ خاص طور پر ان لوگوں کے لئے ہے جو خواتین کے ساتھ ہیں۔ حجر اسود کو چھوتے ہوے خصوصی طور پر خواتین کی بے حرمتی ہوتی ہے اس لیے خواتین کو چاہیے کہ اگر زیادہ رش ہو تو وہا ں جانے سے پر ہیز کریں۔ اس کا نتیجہ مقدس اور زبردست اللہ کے گھر کے سامنے ایک قابل مذمت صورتحال ہے۔ لیکن خاص طور پر اس جگہ پر حجراسود یا جنوب مشرقی زاویہ کو چھو لینے کے لئے پرتشدد گھماؤ کی سفارش نہیں کی جاتی ہے۔ اگر ہم انہیں پر سکون طور پر چھو سکتے ہیں تو ، اتنا ہی بہتر ، اگر نہیں ، تو ہم صرف حجراسود کی طرف اشارہ کرکہ اپنا طواف مکمل کر سکتے ھیں۔

حجراسود کا بوسہ لینا سنت ہے لیکن حج یا عمرہ کے جائز ہونے کی شرط نہیں.

طواف ایک حاجی کو اطمینان سے کام کرنا چاہئے ،اور اس بات کو ذہن میں رکھیں کہ وہ اللہ کی اطاعت کررہا ہے۔ کچھ حجاج کرام کا خیال ہے کہ "طواف" تب ہی صحیح ہوسکتا ہے جب کوئی حجراسود کو چومتا ہے اور یہ اشارہ طواف کی صداقت کی شرط ہے ، جیسا کہ بڑے اور معمولی زیارتوں کی جائزیت کا معاملہ ہے۔ کون سی غلطی ہے؟ پتھر کو چومنا ایک سنت (نبوی مشق) ہے ، لیکن یہ ایک آزاد سنت نہیں ہے کیونکہ یہ صرف میرے علم کے مطابق ، دورانِ عمل ہوتا ہے۔ اگر یہ سچ ہے کہ پتھر کا بوسہ لینا سنت ہے اور نہ تو کوئی فرض ہے اور نہ ہی کوئی شرائط (عہد کے لئے) ، یہ نہیں کہا جاسکتا کہ پتھر کو چومنے کے بغیر جو طواف کیا گیا ہے وہ غلط ہے یا نامکمل ہے۔

حضرت عمر کا حجراسود کے بوسہ لینے کےحوالہ سے بیان۔

اگر کسی نے ہم سے یہ کہتے ہوئے پوچھا کہ "طواف" کے علاقے پر ہلچل مچ جاتی ہے۔ آپ کیا سوچتے ہیں؟ کیا یہ بہتر ہے کہ میں خود کو پتھر کو چھو جانے یا اس سے راضی ہونے کے قابل ہونے کا عہد کروں؟ ہم کہیں گے: محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی تعلیم کے مطابق اس کا اشارہ کرنا بہتر ہے جو اب تک بہترین ہے۔

کچھ حجاج کرام کا عقیدہ ہے کہ کوئی بھی ان کی پرستش کرنے کے لئے پتھر اور جنوب مشرقی زاویہ کو ہاتھ نہیں لگاتا بلکہ وہاں برکت حاصل کرنے کے لئے ہے۔ وہ ان کی مالش کرتے ہیں اور پھر اس ارادے سے اپنے جسم پر ہاتھ ملتے ہیں۔ یہ عبادت کے مقصد کے منافی ہے۔ کیوں کہ پتھر کو چھونے یا چومنا اللہ غالب اور عظمت کی عبادت کا اظہارنہں کرتا ہے۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اللہ اکبر نے گویا اس بات کی نشاندہی کی کہ یہ اللہ کو غالب اور عظمت کی پرستش کرنے کا سوال ہے نہ کہ پتھر کو چھو جانے کی سادہ حقیقت کا۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ مومنین کے کمانڈر ، حضرت عمر (نے کہا جب انہوں نے پتھر کو چھو لیا: اللہ کے نام پر ، میں جانتا ہوں کہ تم صرف ایک ایسا پتھر ہو جس سے (کسی کو بھی نقصان نہیں ہوتا ہے)۔ اگر میں نے پیغمبر کو تمہیں بوسہ دیتے ہوئے نہیں دیکھا ہوتا تو میں ایسا نہیں کرتا۔

پتھر کسی کو نقصان یا فائدہ نہیں دیتا۔

یہ غلط عقیدہ بعض حجاج کرام میں پایا جاتا ہے جو یہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ ہم جس مقصد کے لئے کالے پتھر اور جنوب مشرقی زاویہ کو چھوتے ہیں وہ سعادت حاصل کرنا ہے۔ یہ ایک غلط عقیدے کا نتیجہ ہے جس سے لوگوں کو یہ سمجھانے سے پہلے کہ ان پتھروں سے کسی کو کوئی نقصان نہیں پہنچتا ہے اور نہ ہی ان کو چھونے سے ممنوع ہونا چاہئے اور ان سے چھونے سے اللہ غالب ، عظمت ، اس کی یاد دہانی کی پابندی اور اس کی تقلید کا اظہار ہوتا ہے۔

حکومت کی طرف سے پابندی۔

آج کل حکومت سعودی عرب نے کوویڈ 19 کی وجہ سے حاجی کو حجراسود کو چھونے اور گلف کعبہ کو بوسہ دینے سے منع کر دیا ہے۔

رمضان میں عمرہ۔

رمضان المبارک کے دوران عمرہ میں بے شمار برکات اور خوبیاں ہیں۔ رمضان المبارک کا مقدس مہینہ پوری دنیا کے مسلمانوں کے لئے بے حد اہم ہے جو صبح سے رات تک روزہ رکھتے ہیں اور اللہ سے دعا کرتے ہیں۔ ماہ رمضان میں روزہ رکھنا اسلام کے پانچ ستونوں میں سےایک ہے اور تمام بالغ اور صحت مند مسلمانوں کے لئے لازمی ہے۔ بچوں ، بوڑھوں اور بیماریوں میں مبتلا افراد ، حاملہ خواتین اور نرسنگ ماؤں کو روزے سے مستثنیٰ ہے۔ مسلمانوں کو یہ بھی لازمی ہے کہ وہ ایسی بعض حرکات سے باز رہیں جن سے روحانی ثواب حاصل کرنے میں کمی ھوتی ھو۔

قرآن اور رمضان۔

رمضان کے مہینے میں ھی قرآن پاک نازل ہوا تھا۔ بلاشبہ یہ کسی بھی مسلمان کے لئے سال کا سب سے اہم دور ہے ، جس کے دوران ہر نیک عمل کو ستر مرتبہ اجر دیا جاتا ہے۔ رمضان کا مہینہ عمرہ کرنے کا بہترین وقت بھی ہے۔ آئیے اس مقدس مہینے کے دوران زیارت کے فوائد کو ایک ساتھ تلاش کریں۔

برکت کے مہینے میں عمرہ کی فضیلتیں۔

عمرہ ، حج کے برعکس ، مسلمانوں کے لئے لازمی نہیں ہے ، لیکن اس کے باوجود اس کی بڑی دینی اور روحانی اہمیت ہے۔ واقعتا یہ طہارت کا کام ہے ، جو ایماندارانہ نیت اور پاک دل کے ساتھ عمرہ کرے اللہ کی سب سے بڑی رحمت جیت جاتا ہے۔ یہ سنت کی اعلیٰ ترین شکل ہے۔ رمضان کے آخری عشرہ میں حرمین شریفین میں جو عبادت کا لطف ہے اس کو الفاظ میں بیان نہیں کیا جا سکتا۔ میری دعا ہے کہ الللہ آپ کو یہ سعادت نصیب فرمایے۔ کہا گیا ہے کہ جو بھی عمرہ کرنے کی نیت سے اپنے گھر سے نکلے وہ واپسی تک حاجی ہے ، اور اگر وہ راستے میں فوت ہوجائے تو وہ یقینا جنت میں داخل ہوگا۔

عمرہ کی اہمیت۔

اگرچہ عمرہ کرنا لازمی نہیں ہے ، لیکن چونکہ اس میں بے شمار برکات اور خوبیاں ہیں ، زیادہ تر مسلمان اس موقع سے محروم رہنا نہیں چاہتے ہیں۔ عمرہ گناہوں سے بخشش اور روزے میں اضافے کا ذریعہ ہے۔ رمضان میں دعا پرخصوصی توجہ دی جاتی ہے ،یہ برکتوں اور مغفرت کے طلب کرنے کا مہینہ ھے۔ ہر نفل یا سنت کو ستر مرتبہ ثواب ملتا ہے۔ نوافل کا آجر فرائض کے برابر کر دیا جاتا ہے۔ رمضان المبارک کے دوران عمرہ کرنا واقعتا ایک فائدہ مند عبادت ہے جس کے لیے پوری دنیا سے لوگ اپنے خالق کی رضا کے لئے روزے کی حالت میں جمع ہوتے ہیں۔

رمضان میں عمرہ حج کے برابر۔

"عن ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما جاءت سم سلیم رسوللى رسول اللہ صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم فقالت: حج أبوطلحة وابنه وتركاني سلل عمرة في رمضان تعدل حجة معي"

ابن عباس کے مطابق ، اوم سلیم ، رسول اللہ کے پاس تشریف لائے اور کہا: ابو طلحہ اور بیٹے حج کرنے کے لئے مجھے چھوڑ کر چلے گئے۔

آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: "اے ام سلیم! رمضان المبارک میں عمرہ برابر ہے۔ میرے ساتھ حج۔

رمضان کے مہینے میں عمرہ کرنے والے کو وہی صلہ ملتا ہے جیسے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ بطور حج کیا۔ لیکن اس کا مطلب یہ نہیں ہے کہ حج جو اسلام کا پانچواں ستون ہے اسے ادا کرنے سے مستثنیٰ قرار دیا جائے گا۔

مسجد الحرام میں مقدس مقامات۔

پیغمبر اسلام محمدﷺ کی ولادت گاہ اسلام کا روحانی مرکز ہے اور غیر مسلموں کے لئے ممنوع ہے۔ اسلام کے ستون بیان کرتے ہیں کہ تمام مسلمان جو اس کا متحمل ہوسکتے ہیں انہیں اپنی زندگی میں کم از کم ایک بار مکہ مکرمہ (حج) ضرور کرنا چاہئے۔ اس مقدس شہر جانے والے لوگوں کو نہ صرف اس عقیدے کے مرکز میں واقع تاریخی اور مذہبی مقامات کی قربت سے ہی نوازا جاتا ہے بلکہ ان کے تمام گناہوں کی معافی بھی ھوتی ہے۔ مسجد الحرام میں واقع مقدس مقامات،صفاء اورمرواء کی پہاڑی، حجراسود (کالا پتھر) ، مقام ایبراہیم اور زمزم کو مسلم دنیا میں بھت اھمیت حاصل ھے۔

مسجد الحرام

مکہ مکرمہ کی مسجد ، جسے عام طور پر مسجد الحرام کہا جاتا ہے ، ایک ایسی مسجد ہے جو سعودی عرب کے حجازی علاقے میں ، مکہ مکرمہ میں کعبہ کے گرد گھیرتی ہے۔ مسجد حرام کعبہ کا گھر ہے ، جو اسلام کا سب سے مقدس مقام اور مسلمانوں کی نماز کی سمت ہے ، اور اسی وجہ سے مکہ مکرمہ کو اسلام کا سب سے مقدس شہر سمجھا جاتا ہے۔

حجر الاسود (سیاہ پتھر).

صفا اور مروہ۔

صفا اور مروہ دو چھوٹی پہاڑی ہیں جو اب سعودی عرب کے حجازی علاقے میں واقع مکہ کی عظیم مسجد میں واقع ہیں۔ عجاج اور عمرہ کی رسمی زیارت کے دوران مسلمان سات بار ان کے درمیان سفر کرتے ہیں۔

مقام ابراھیم۔

مقام ابراہیم اس پتھر کو کہتے ہیں جس پر ابراہیم علیہ السلام نے کھڑے ھو کرخانہ کعبہ تعمیر کیا۔ حضرت اسمٰعیل علیہ السلام نے ابراہیم علیہ السلام کے پاس پتھر بھیجتے ، اور ابراہیم علیہ السلام ان کو متصور کرتے رہے ، مقام ابراہیم معجزانہ طور پر دیوارو کے اٹھتے ہی اونچی اونچی اونچی بلند ہوتا رھا۔ اللہ (ﷻ) نے انکے پاؤں کے نشانوں کا نشان پتھر پر چھوڑ دیا تاکہ مومنین اپنی اولاد کو یاد دلائے۔

زمزم کنواں۔

مکہ مکرمہ میں مقدس مقامات۔

مکہ سعودی عرب کے علاقے حجازی کا ایک شہر ہے۔ یہ شہر جدہ سے 70 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر اور مدینہ سے 340 کلومیٹر جنوب میں واقع ہے۔ یہ ہمارے پیارئےمحمد (ص) کی جائے پیدائش ہے۔ مکہ مکرمہ کعبہ کا گھر ہے ، جو اسلام کے مقدس ترین مقامات میں سے ایک ہے اور مسلمانوں کئ نماز کی سمت ہے ، اور اسی وجہ سے مکہ کو مسلم دنیا کا سب سے مقدس شہر سمجھا جاتا ہے۔ اس مضمون میں ، میں مکہ مکرمہ کے تمام مقدس مقامات جیسے مسجد نمرہ ، مینا ، مزدلفہ ، عرفات ، جمارات ، جبیل رحمت ، مسجد جن ، جبیل نور (غار ہیرا) ، جبیلِ سورکا احاطہ کروں گا۔

مسجد نمرہ۔

مسجد نمرہ میدان عرفات میں واقع ہے۔ جب نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ذوالحجہ 10 ھ (632 میلادی) کی نویں تاریخ کو اپنے الوداعی حج کے موقع پر عرفات میں تھے تو آپ نے یہاں خیمہ لگایا۔ سہ پہر کو ،آپ نے اپنا مشہور خطبہ ارشاد فرمایا۔ جس نے بعد میں اسلام کی رہنمائی کی۔ اس حج پر ایک لاکھ سے زیادہ صحابہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ہمراہ تھے۔

مینا۔

یہ مسجد الحرام سے سات کلومیٹر مشرق میں واقع ہے ، یھاں پرذوالحجہ کی 8 ، 11 ، 12 (اور کچھ 13) کو رات کے وقت حجاج سوتے ہیں۔ اس میں جمرات ، تین پتھر کے ستون ہیں جن پر حج کے رکن کے ایک حصے کے طور حاجی پتھروںسےبمباری کرتے ہیں۔

جبل رحمت۔

جبیل رحمت کو جبل الرحمہ یا پہاڑ رحمت کے نام سے بھی جانا جاتا ہے ، کوہ عرفات مکہ مکرمہ کے باہر وادی عرفات میں ایک پہاڑی ہے جہاں نبی اکرم (ص) نے حج ختم ہونے کے بعد آخری خطبہ دیا۔ حجاج کرام کے لئے لازمی ہے کہ وہ مینا چھوڑ کر 9 ذی الحجہ کو پہاڑ عرفات پہنچیں اور دن میں ، نماز پڑھتے ، نفل ادا کرئیں ، اور اللہ سے استغفار کریں۔ عرفات میں کھڑا ہونا حج کا لازمی حصہ ہے اور اگر کوئی حاجی یہاں تک پہنچنے میں ناکام ہوجاتا ہے تو اسکا حج باطل سمجھا جاتا ہے۔

مزدلفہ ۔

مزدلفہ (مُزْدَلِفَة) سعودی عرب کے حجازی علاقے میں مکہ کے قریب ایک کھلا اور فلیٹ علاقہ ہے جو ("زیارت") سے وابستہ ہے۔ یہ مینا کے جنوب مشرق میں مینا اور عرفات کے درمیان سڑک پر واقع ہے۔ مزدلفہ میں قیام سے پہلے عرفات میں ایک دن دعا کرنے ، اللہ سے توبہ اور معافی مانگ کر اللہ کی تسبیح کرنے پر مشتمل ہے۔ عرفات میں ، ظہر کے وقت نماز ظہر اور عصر مشترکہ اور اختصار کی شکل میں ادا کی جاتی ہے۔ غروب آفتاب کے بعد ، اسلامی ماہ ذی الجہجہ کے نویں دن ، مسلمان حجاج مزدلفہ جاتے ہیں ، بعض اوقات زیادہ تعداد میں بھیڑ کی وجہ سے رات کو پہنچ جاتے ہیں۔ مزدلفہ پہنچنے کے بعد ، حجاج کرام مشترکہ طور پر مغرب اور عشاء کی نماز پڑھتے ہیں جبکہ عشاء کی نمازیھاں پر2 رکعت تک مختصر کردی گئی ہے۔

پہاڑ تھاور۔

پہاڑ تھاور (یا جبل ثور) وہ پہاڑ ہے جس میں غارٖٖثور ہے۔ جس میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اور حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ عنہ قریش سے تین دن اور رات تک چھپے رہے ، جب آپ مکہ چھوڑ کر مدینہ ہجرت کر رھے تھے۔

جبل نور۔

پہاڑ حرا (جبل ہیرا) ، جو کعبہ سے تین کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر ہے۔ پہاڑ کی چوٹی کے قریب ایک چھوٹی سی غار ہے ، جس کی لمبائی 4 میٹر لمبی اور چوڑائی 1.5 میٹر سے ہے۔ حضرت محمد ﷺ پر رمضان کے مہینے میں 610 عیسوی میں قرآن کریم کی پہلئ وحی اسی غار میں نازل ھوہی تھی۔ اس پہاڑ کو جبل نور (روشنی کا پہاڑ) بھی کہا جاتا ہے۔

جمرات پل۔

جمارات تین پتھر کے شیطان ہیں جن پر حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام کی تقلید میں فریضہ حج کے رکن کے طور پر حاجی بمباری کرتے ہیں۔ وہ شیطان ان تینوں مقامات کی نمائندگی کرتے ہیں جہاں ابراہیم علیہ السلام نے شیطان پر پتھروں سے بمباری کی تھی جب شیطان نے آپ سے اپنے بیٹے اسماعیل علیہ السلام کی قربانی سے انکار کروانے کی کوشش کی تھی۔ ان ستونوں کو "جمرات ال الاولا" ، "جمرات الاوستا" اور "جمرات الاقتبہ" کہا جاتا ہے۔

Holy Places in Makkah City.

Makkah is a city in the Hejazi region of Saudi Arabia. The city is located 70 km inland from Jeddah, 340 km south of Medina. It is the birthplace of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Makkah is home to the Kaaba, one of the holiest sites in Islam and the direction of Muslim's prayer, and therefore Makkah is considered the holiest city in the Muslim world. In this article, I will cover all the holy places in Makkah City like Masjid-e-Nimra, Mina, Muzdalifah, Arafat, Jamarat, Jabil-e-Rahmat, Masjid-e- Jinn, Masjid-e- Shajar, Masjid -e -Qamar, Jannat-al-Moulla, Jabil-e-Noor (Ghar-e-Hira), and Jabil-e-Sour (Ghar-e-sour).

Masjid-e-Nimra.

Masjid Nimrah and is located in the plain of Arafat. When the Prophet (ﷺ) was in Arafat during his farewell Hajj on the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah 10 AH (632 CE), he camped here. In the afternoon, he delivered his famous sermon to nearby Waadi Urana, seated on his camel, after which he led the salah. Over 100,000 Sahabah accompanied him on this Hajj.

Mina.

Mina, seven kilometers east of Masjid al-Haram, that Hajj pilgrims sleep at night on 8, 11, 12 (and some even on 13) from Dhul Hijjah. It contains the Jamarat, the three stone pillars that are bombarded by pilgrims as part of the Hajj rituals.

Jabil-e-Rahmat.

Jabil-e-Rehmat is also known as Jabal-Ar-Rahmah or the Mount of Mercy, Mount Arafat is a hill in the Arafat Valley outside of Makkah where the Prophet (PBUH) delivered his last sermon after finished the Hajj. It is mandatory for pilgrims to leave Mina and reach Mount Arafat on 9 Dhu’al Hijjah and spend the day praying, doing Dhik’r, and asking forgiveness from Allah (SWT). Standing at Arafat is an essential part of Hajj and it is considered invalid if a pilgrim fails to reach here.

Muzdalifah.

Muzdalifah (مُزْدَلِفَة) is an open and flat area near Makkah in the Hejazi region of Saudi Arabia which is associated with Ḥajj ("pilgrimage"). It is located just southeast of Mina, on the road between Mina and Arafat. The stay in Muzdalifah is preceded by a day in Arafat, consisting of glorifying Allah by repeating the Dua, repenting of Allah and asking forgiveness. At Arafat, the prayers Ẓuhr and ʿAṣr are performed in a combined and abbreviated form during the time of Zuhr. After sunset, the ninth day of the Islamic month of Dhūl-Ḥijjah, Muslim pilgrims travel to Muzdalifah, sometimes arriving at night due to overcrowding. After arriving in Muzdalifah, pilgrims jointly pray the Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ prayers, while the Isha prayer is shortened to 2 rakats.

Mount Thawr.

Mount Thawr (or Jabal Thawr) is the mountain that contains the cave in which the Prophet (ﷺ) and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) sought refuge for three days and nights from the Quraysh, while they left Makkah and emigrated to Medina.

Jabal-e-Noor.

Mount Hira (Jabal Hira), which is about three kilometers from the Kaaba. Near the summit is a small cave, just under four meters long and just over 1.5 meters wide. It is here that Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) received the first revelations of the Holy Quran during the month of Ramadan in 610 CE. The mountain is also known as Jabal Noor (the mountain of light).

Masjid Jinn.

Masjid Jinn, also known as Masjid Haras, is built where the Prophet (ﷺ) drew a line for Abdullah bin Mas'ood (may Allah be pleased with him) who accompanied him after 'He was ordered to recite the Quran' one at the Jinn.

Jamarat Bridge.

The Jamarat are three stone pillars that are bombarded as an obligatory Hajj ritual in the emulation of the Prophet Ebrahim (peace be upon him). The mistaken belief is found in some pilgrims who believe that the goal for which we touch the Black Stone and the Southeast Angle is to seek blessing. What pushes some to bring their young children, to massage the Stone or the Angle with their hands before passing these on their children.

This is the result of a mistaken belief that must be prohibited before explaining to people that these stones do not harm or benefit anyone and that touching them expresses the veneration of Allah the Mighty, the Majestic, the perpetuation of His reminder and the imitation of His Messenger (blessings and salvation be upon him).

In the early morning, the faithful converge on Mount Arafat or Jabal al-Rahma, Mount of Mercy, a highlight of the pilgrimage. The stage at Mount Arafat is dedicated to prayers and invocations.

It is on Mount Arafat that the Prophet Muhammad delivered, according to Islamic tradition, his farewell sermon to the Muslims who had accompanied him on the pilgrimage at the end of his life.

Muzdalifah.

Muzdalifah (مُزْدَلِفَة) is an open and flat area near Makkah in the Hejazi region of Saudi Arabia which is associated with Ḥajj ("pilgrimage"). It is located just southeast of Mina, on the road between Mina and Arafat. The stay in Muzdalifah is preceded by a day in Arafat, consisting of glorifying Allah by repeating the Dua, repenting of Allah, and asking forgiveness. At Arafat, the prayers Ẓuhr and ʿAṣr are performed in a combined and abbreviated form during the time of Zuhr. After sunset, the ninth day of the Islamic month of Dhūl-Ḥijjah, Muslim pilgrims travel to Muzdalifah, sometimes arriving at night due to overcrowding. After arriving in Muzdalifah, pilgrims jointly pray the Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ prayers, while the Isha prayer is shortened to 2 rakats.

Stoning of the Stelae:

At nightfall, the pilgrims rush back to the Mouzdalifa plain to prepare the next day for Eid al-Adha which consists of sacrificing a beast in memory of Abraham. The latter had almost sacrificed his son Ismail before the angel Gabriel offered him in extremis to sacrifice a sheep in his place, according to tradition.

The faithful then devote themselves to the stoning of the stelae representing Satan at Mina. Seven stones must be thrown the first day on the large stele, and 21 stones the next day or two days later on the three stelae’s (large, medium, small).

Circumvolutions around the Kaaba:

The pilgrimage ends with new convolutions around the Kaaba.

What is Umrah:

Umrah is an Arabic word which means to visit an important place. It is an important pilgrimage that Muslims perform throughout the year except for the days of Hajj. It is the beautiful Sunnah of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH. It is an act of spiritual purity for the Muslims. Umrah is started with wearing the Ihram, doing Tawaf, seven times around the Ka'aba. After completion of Tawaf performed tow raka'at nafal at Makam-e -Ibrahim and drink abe-Zamzam. The next step is Sa'y (running between the hills of Safa and Marwa) and the final step is shaving or clipping of the hair.

Importance of Umrah:

Umrah is the preferred Sunnah of Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH. It is the minor Hajj for the Muslims. It is one of the main ways to purify the soul and earn the pleasure of Allah.

How to plan:

It is very important to have a plan when you will be going to visit the Holy place on earth. You must be well known about the off-peak season. During Ramadan and especially in the last ten nights of Ramadan it is much expensive. It is also more expensive during the school holiday season.

Personally, I have found that the cheapest time to go is between the start of January to end of February. Also, when Ummrah season opens it is usually a good time to go, but very volatile as many of the rules change before opening the season.

Requirements for Umrah Visa:

The requirements for the Umrah visa are similar to what you expect from any other country when issuing a visa. The first requirement is you cannot apply for a visa yourself without a certified agent. You will need an agent to issue your visa. The Govt of Saudi Arabia started the E-visa system for pilgrims. Now it is possible to issue your E-visa online with an approved agent with only sending a scanned copy of your passport. Your E-visa will be issued within 24 hours.

The important information about your Umrah Visa as follow.

Your Passport needs to be valid for at least eight months.
You must be a citizen of the country from where you apply for a visa.
If you are not a citizen of a country from where you apply, you must have a permanent residency for the application of visa.
The visa is valid for 30 days from issuance.
The visa validity reduced to 15 days in the month of Ramadan.
You can stay in Saudi Arabia, a maximum of 30 days but agents recommended 21 days to 28 days.
If you overstay in Saudi Arabia, you might be banned from going again and also charged penalties for overstay.
You cannot go for Umrah after Ramadan, you will need to wait for the new season that starts in the first month of the next Islamic year.
