Slaughterhouse is working with an OG group in the L.O.X. to bring out an upbeat old school hip hop feel track that I’m feeling. Check it out

Sh*t I Seen - YelaWolf

2011-01-13T18:28:00.000-05:00

Yelawolf leaks his new track, using a quick lyric rapping style, to explain the things he’s seen growing up that has desensitized him, and all of us, to what is traditionally deemed “Odd”.

“Back on the Scene” - Slaughterhouse

2011-01-11T01:01:00.001-05:00

Slaughterhouse leaking some new music for the fans awaiting their second album. The credits for this joint go to E1 Music though which is odd because it was leaked 2 days ago… aren't they supposed to be on Shady Records by now? C'mon Slim

“H.A.M.” - Kanye West & Jay-Z

The first dark single off that Watch the Throne collab album from Kanye and JayZ.

Upcoming Release: Avant

2010-11-14T23:40:00.000-05:00

by @butterfliesblue

R&B singer Avant is releasing an album titled The Letter on December 7, 2010. You may remember him from his other songs "Makin' Good Love" and "Don't Say No, Say Yes". I heard a couple of the singles off of the new album called "Kiss Goodbye" and "Your Body is the Business" which makes me excited to hear what the rest of the album has in store. The new singles as well as the two other ones mentioned are below to listen to.

"Makin' Good Love"

"Don't Say No, Say Yes"

"Kiss Goodbye"

"Your Body is the Business"

New Music: Rihanna feat Nicki Minaj

2010-11-09T14:55:00.000-05:00

Lately the singles that I've heard from Rihanna have disturbed me, and I'm still on the fence about Nicki Minaj. With that being said, this song actually works for me. Both of these females seem to have lost their mind anyway, and this beat is on point. This guaranteed club banger may be what Riri needs to not be overshadowed by Willow Smith which seems like the case may be.

Original vs Remake: Pretty Young Thing

2010-11-07T15:18:00.000-05:00

by @butterfliesblue

Recently Quincy Jones produced a remake of Michael Jackson's Pretty Young Thing which includes T-pain and Robin Thicke. When I noticed that T-pain would be on it I already knew that autotune would be involved and give it a cheap sound. Robin Thicke held his own as I knew he would. I wish that Robin Thicke would have done the whole thing by himself and left T-pain off of it, but it is what it is.

this is the remake

original

R. Kelly - Hard Times

2010-11-07T13:23:00.000-05:00

R. Kelly is back at it like a bad habit with this one. This song is about the “Hard Times” of confusion with yourself and your lover which we have ALL experienced. I like this one and this is going back to the R. Kelly of the past where his music was much more content related. Take a listen and let me know what you think.

Ne-Yo - You Want It

2010-11-07T13:22:00.000-05:00

It Looks like Ne-Yo is back at it releasing a new R&B single today advising his potential female love that if she wants him, then she should come get him. Take the hint ladies, those who sit back and wait for the man of their dreams typically loose first dibs while he is sifting through the woman who have drive and initiative. Stop waiting for Happiness and get get what/who you want.

Decade Flashback: Mariah Carey - the 90s One

2010-11-06T22:59:00.000-04:00

To me Mariah Carey is one of the few artists from the 90s that still has a strong fan base as well as consistently puts out quality music. "My All" is about longing to be with someone so bad that it feels like at least one more time with them with make a heart heal. The emotion that she puts into this song will bring tears to your eyes and chills to your body.

Decade Flashback: Carl Thomas

2010-11-06T22:58:00.000-04:00

Those of us that are really into REAL music miss the old 90s-early 2000s R&B/Pop and even some hip hop. Because of this, I'm going to try to start to do flashbacks to the good old music. Now this song by Carl Thomas called "I Wish" is something that many people go through. We have all fallen for someone that we wanted but could not have for one reason or another. Because we can't have that person, we start to wish that we would not have ever met them.

G.O.O.D Friday - Looking for Trouble

Kanye has brought together Pusha T, Chyi the Prince, Big Sean & J. Cole to put together this hot track. Even though he was late on releasing it on Friday but it’s worth the wait with how good this track is. I like the energy of everyone feeding off each other. J. Cole held down anchor and did exceptionally well. Take a listen.

Hot or Flop: Minaj ft Eminem - Romans Revenge

Download 'The Luv Exposure" here

Nicki Minaj grabbed a feature from Hip-Hop Great Eminem for her upcoming album. The track isn't the most lyrical that I’ve seen from either of them but it is definitely something I can see myself playing more than once because the Flow from each of them was skilled and distinctive.

Beware: Nicki Minaj does use A LOT of that Big Sean infused, Drake/Lil Wayne/Young Money style of punch lines in this song. I think it’s Worth a listen. What do you think? Hot or Flop?

MC Hammer Comeback to JayZ

MC Hammer is trying to resurrect whatever career he has left by trading his self respect for Limelight. Jay Z made a comment in the “So Appalled” remix stating,

“I lost 30million and spent another 30, because unlike Hammer 30mil cant hurt me”

MC Hammer took this shot at him and decided to make this track as a comeback record. I will let you judge its lyrical content for itself. Please leave comments on your thoughts.

R&B Mixtape: "The Luv Exposure" by Rachel Marie

2010-10-19T01:56:00.000-04:00

'The Luv Exposure' features artists, producers, and singers from around the country (and beyond) that have united to make great music. It's the first (of many) completed musical projects by the singer/songwriter/producer Rachel Marie. The mixtape is a collection of upbeat and midtempo songs that have a commercial feel to them, but includes the musical complexity and artistry that the radio is missing at the moment. It also features a few industry songs that have been remade from a different perspective than the originals. 'The Luv Exposure' can be explained as a way for Rachel Marie, and the featured singers, rappers, and producers to expose the world to their number one love, music.

Willow - Whip My Hair (Official Video)

2010-10-19T01:55:00.000-04:00

For those of you that haven’t seen the debut video today, Willow Smith, Will & Jada Smiths 9yr old Daughter and RocNations newest artist, shot a pretty good video. She’s got her a catchy hook and good party song without a demeaning message to the psyche of young kids that also works for women (and gay men) of all ages. This joint will be on heavy radio rotation and I’d expect collabs with Disney artists soon I’m sure. I think it’d be hilarious if she did a cover song remake of Ebony and Ivory with Justin Beiber. The buzz from the two together would do stupid numbers. But that’s just me thinking like a business man.

Shynes Thoughts on Def Jam

2010-10-15T12:02:00.000-04:00

by @butterfliesblue

Recently rapper Nas has expressed his thoughts on how he has been treated by his current label Def Jam in an email addressed to the the label executives. In a recent statement, rapper Shyne, who is Nas' label mate, also expressed the way he feels about Def Jam. He basically said how they do not care about hip hop, and how he has been thinking about leaving the record label for Cash Money. The complete statement is below.

I’m definitely trying to get with Cash Money but the Def Jam thing is a question mark right now. I’ve been fixing to get up out of there for a while now because [Island Def Jam CEO] L.A. Reid don’t care about hip-hop. The people up there, they don’t know what they’re doing. When you don’t have a strong leader, where you gonna go? They don’t care about hip-hop music. You give them a hip-hop record with an R&B singer, you “might” have a chance. They don’t care. You got The Roots, Ghostface, Nas, probably the best hip-hop roster you could imagine and they do nothing. L.A. Reid doesn’t want nothing to do with rappers — it’s nothing personal, I don’t have nothing personal with dude but he makes it known he doesn’t care about hip-hop. So I’m really interested in seeing who’s gonna replace him. Because I know he’s been replaced — so I wanna find out who’s gonna take his spot before I decide what I’m gonna do with Def Jam…The music that we make is responsible for pop, R&B, everything that’s jumping right now.

They gotta care about [what we've done] the way Jimmy Iovine cares about that, the way Lyor Cohen cares about that,” Shyne added. “I’m definitely not gonna scrap everything I recorded. I put in so much, I’ve come so far. From the first record I did when I got out to the new records I’ve done while going to all these different countries, I ain’t scrapping nothing. I paid for that. I’m not signed to Def Jam anyway, I just need to find another distributor. I might just have Cash Money do everything. Who knows? That’s the beauty about being in the business for yourself. You can decide where you want to go and what you want to do.”

If you aren't familiar with Shyne or any of the artists that has been mentioned in his statement, then check out some of their hit music below.

Justin Bieber Biting Lyrics

2010-10-15T12:00:00.000-04:00

By: @sucmyknowledge

So have yall heard Justin Bieber lil freestyle called "Speaking In Tongues Shawty Man"? Listen to it below. The Lines "Call up Lady Gaga On my telephone, Hela-don, Your my girl beats No Metronome My new chick, she a yellow bone I buy Yellow Stone cuz i like the way she got that YELLLLOW On" Apparently are stolen...

According to @ItsJohnBoyYaBoy, as he stated on worldstarhiphop.com, he stole it from his lil homie @TLanez from his "Beamer Benz or Bentley Freestyle" posted on youtube March 22, 2010. Listen to the the 50 second mark

And the funny thing about all this is that they're BOTH from Canada. C'mon Justin if you're gonna "freestyle" make it come off the dome.

BET Awards After Party Footage

2010-10-15T09:02:00.000-04:00

Diddy and Ricky Ross @ The Mansion Elan (BET Hip Hop Awards After Party)) from The Club Nation on Vimeo.

In case you missed it last October 3, 2010 BET Awards invaded Atlanta, GA and the official after party was @MansionElan it was PACKED stoopid WIFI at 11 O'clock. Diddy and Ricky Rozay were the official headliners, but the star studded cast was so deep. I was standing at the bar next to Flo-Rida, Dipset was in the building, Busta Rhymes, Diddy, Ross and Red Cafe performed, along with some more artist. Over 300 bottles were passed out from Ciroc to Rose' Imperial; I ended up with 6 myself lol. My whole crew had bottles we was LITERALLY white boy wasted! At the end of the night people were leaving bottles half full that they couldn't even take it anymore! If you know anything about ATL like Waka said, "WE GO HARD IN THE PAINT!!" Especially when it comes to nightlife, clubs don't usually close till 6am and after hours sometimes 8am. But this was a memorable experience check out the footage and see how it all went down
