NCCS invites applications from candidates who are bonafide Indian citizens and having consistently good academic record. Candidates should have strong motivation to pursue research in modern biology leading to a Ph.D degree. The broader areas of research and the available projects with NCCS faculty could be found at their respective web pages. The list of available projects for the current session will be provided to the candidates at the time of interview.

Candidates who satisfy the following criteria only need apply: Should have an M.Sc. degree in any area of Life Sciences

Qualified in the CSIR/UGC/ICMR/DBT examination for Junior Research Fellowship and Fellowship should be valid as on the date of joining. (Candidates in the “Project List of ICMR & category ‘B’ of DBT examination” need not apply).

Reservation will be as per the Government Of India guidelines.

Terms and conditions of the fellowship will be as directed by the agency awarding the fellowship.

CCMB is conducting Walk-in-interview for the positions of Junior Research Fellow on a purely temporary basis in a DST project [GAP0304] entitled: Modelling spatiotemporal distribution of host-parasite populations and disease spread”. The requirement for the project is as under:

Junior Research Fellow (one position)
Essential Qualifications: MSc in Statistics/ Mathematics/Physics.

Job Requirement: Data Analysis;Time Series Analysis; Differential Equations; Nonlinear Dynamics;
Mathematical Biology.

Maximum age as on 8.6.2011: 28 years (age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/ Women candidates as per GOI
instructions)

Stipend Payable: - Rs.16000 p.m. for candidates quailed PG in Basic Sciences and NET qualified;
- Rs.12000 p.m. for candidates qualified PG in Basic Sciences who have NET qualified for Lecturship;
- Rs.8000 p.m. for candidates qualified PG in Basic Sciences without NET qualification;
Plus 30% HRA is admissible as per rules. HRA is not admissible if accommodation is provided by CCMB.

The position is purely temporary on contract basis for a period of six months/ 1 year. Contract may be terminated any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any CSIR/CCMB post.

NCCS invites applications from candidates who are bonafide Indian citizens and having consistently good academic record. Candidates should have strong motivation to pursue research in modern biology leading to a Ph.D degree. Candidates who satisfy the following criteria only need apply:
Should have an M.Sc. degree in any area of Life Sciences
Qualified in the CSIR/UGC/ICMR/DBT examination for Junior Research Fellowship and Fellowship should be valid as on the date of joining.
(Candidates who have qualified only for Lectureship in CSIR-UGC (NET) and the “Project List of ICMR & category ‘B’ of DBT examination” need not apply).

Other terms and conditions of the fellowship will be as directed by the agency awarding the fellowship. Age relaxation will be 5 years in case of SC/ST/Women/PH and 3 years in case of OBC candidates.

Reservation will be as per the Government Of India guidelines.

Qualifications:

a) Experience with geographical information systems (GIS), related packages and data handling is highly desirable.
b) Proficiency in creating and administering databases – especially open source databases.
c) Should be able to build and maintain websites.
d) Proficiency with Unix/Linux and related system administration.
e) Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Salary Range:
A consolidated salary will be fixed based on qualifications and experience as follows:
