Am I the only one that does this? Yes I create Word documents full of copied pieces of clothing/accessories/shit that I don't need and then I attempt to fill my real life wardrobe with such items. I really don't think I'm the only one does this - am I? Those 'WishLists' you make on eBay and Amazon, same thing - potay-to, potah-to.

So, I started wearing a lot of black recently. What is up with that? Is it because I am now not classed as an under aged pregnancy pregnancy should I decide to have a baby - no plans as of yet -, is it because my next big birthday is the big flirty 30, or is it because I've just turned into a boring, fashion-lazy, skint ass mother f**ker? Who knows.

All things here are from the Topshop website within the last few weeks.

This seasons 'mood board' I have made a choice to reduce the blackness. Yes there is a significant lack of bright colours in there, but heck it's January people. Who needs colour, hell who WANTS colour at this time of year? Certainly not me. I need to hide my extra 10lbs with dignity - and some M&S Shapewear. Hit that link. We all know that sex is the last thing we wanna be doing right now, ain't nobody gonna see your pants woman.

Oh I also have a million things 'Saved for later' on ASOS too. My alter ego is clearly rich.. and deluded.

Sorry for the bluntness of this post. I'm finding it difficult to start and end posts since I've 'lost my way'.

Inordinately Plush will be up and running regularly again within the very near future. I have not found something better to do, or gotten bored of blogging, or gotten bored of beauty for that matter, I have just genuinely had a lot on my plate recently.

I say this, but I actually have had the most boring summer of my life; I've been unemployed, I finished uni and I become BFF's with my Dad. I've had a major life-shift, so to speak, and it's been really weird adjusting to firstly becoming a non-student, secondly having no income -yes that's right, no more student loan- and thirdly having to get a real life job - dun dun dun.

We all know that beauty blogging is an expensive hobby in both a timely and a costly sense, and I have just not had the time, money or even inspiration to work on IP the past few months. It makes me sad that I have missed out on a lot over the summer and that I haven't been communicating with the lovely blogging community -I miss #bbloggers!!.

Without rambling too much I am going to keep this post short and sweet, and to anyone who reads it I would like to say this: I am still thinking about Inordinately Plush and am wanting to continue posting, but until the inspiration arrives then I cannot contribute to it. Afterall there is no use in posting if my heart is not in it and I think as bloggers we all know when a post has been rushed, or written half-a*sedly. I don't want anyone to read any of my posts and think this.

So basically, I will be back and if you have come across my blog as a new visitor then please visit back very soon and hopefully IP will be flourishing. In the mean time I am always on Twitter @inordinateplush tweeting about things no one cares about and posting photos of my face.

What’s in my shower?

I’ve seen this sort of post in YouTube form –I especially enjoyed the one done by the lovely Ingrid aka. MissGlamorazzi- and so I decided to do one myself in boring old photograph format. I actually seem to be having some form of writer’s block at the minute – blogger’s block?- so I do not have much to note on here. Also before I go much further I should probably explain as to why my blog has been a little empty recently. The past month or so has been a massive adjustment what with finishing university, not having a job, I literally felt a little lost. The many hours spent revising in front of my laptop meant I could not stand to be near it for a wee while. I’ve also been very distracted by the good old job hunt and so blogging has unfortunately taken a bit of back seat. I actually feel guilty about it, as it’s a hobby I love, but hopefully I will be employed soon and can relax a little again. Anyway, shower post!

Everything here can be bought from Boots with the exceptions of Ocean Salt which is bought from LUSH, and the ayuuri body wash which can be bought here.

I took these photos literally after stepping out of the shower so everything is still a little soggy.

The ayuuri body wash was actually part of the Natural GlossyBox and I have loved using it. Usually shower gels and all that don’t excite me much and rose scented items aren’t always my cup of tea, but this is subtly scented and very gentle. The St. Ives scrub is just there to use up, I originally bought it to use as art of my morning skincare routine but I find I can only use it in the shower otherwise I find that the scrub goes into my hair, up my nose, in my ears and it’s a pain in the arse to get off with a mere flannel.

I use the Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment about once a week now and I love it. I bought the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration conditioner after seeing Gemma from gemsmaquillage rave about it and I actually really enjoyed using it – I have now ran out of it but I keep my Split Remedy conditioner in there to help make things easier when my hands are bad. I bought two when they were buy one get one free at Boots and will definitely buy them again as my hair gets really dry, and these are awesome quick fixes. The TRESemme Split Remedy shampoo and conditioner are new to my shower routine and I find the conditioner so creamy! The conditioner however is very difficult to squeeze out of the bottle when my arthritis flares up –note to TRESemme, make these bottles old lady friendly and I am sure I’d buy them more often.

There’s a Radox bubble bath in the back too, I always buy this as it’s cheap and cheerful. LUSH Ocean Salt I use on my face when it’s feeling a bit cloggy and generally a bit crap, and the Botanics Moisturising scrub I use on my body. This stuff is the most moisturising scrub I have ever owned. In fact I never even knew scrubs could be moisturising! Definitely recommend, think it’s about a fiver.

Items which I use which I have not photographed include my Venus Spa Breeze Razor –literally the best razor I’ve ever used-, a couple of pink loofahs and the harshest most scratchy exfoliating sponge I have ever had the pleasure of using. Oh just Google’d it and it’s correct title is a Sisal Sponge. Well Sisal Sponge, you have left me red raw on occasion, but god damnit do you sort out those streaks from Garnier gradual tan –bitch of a tan.

This is the first in a sequence of posts I have planned, next up is my skincare routine followed by my tanning routine and also general after-bath body care. I thought saying as I have been absent for a wee while, that I should start off with some stable posts. I was also thinking of doing some fashion related posts. Outfit shots and some hauls maybe? I may have not been blogging myself but I have obviously kept up to date with my favourite blogs, tempting me as ever! I hope everyone is doing fan-dabby-dosey and congratulations to anyone who has finished college/university this year!! I got my results through this week, such a relief!! Until next time!

I was recently sent a couple of products from the SUPER line to try out for myself, I was dubious at first of the tinted moisturiser; it looked really dark and I had previously opted for crazy coverage MAC foundation. However, the Sun Kissed tinted moisturiser surprised me and I have been using it daily every day for the last 3 weeks. The product contains Tumeric, has an SPF 25 –ding dong- and comes in a glass bottle along with a pump to dispense the product accurately. Oh and it smells divine! Not sure what it is but it beats the smell of any other foundation I’ve ever use, it’s just so fresh!

Here’s a rundown of some of the features/key nutrients of the product:

It perfects, reflects and protects. Tumeric is loaded with the antioxidant Curcumin, a potent anti-inflammatory known to help reduce psoriasis and heal damaged skin caused by UV rays. Zinc Oxide is a natural mineral that provides non-chemical sunscreen protection. Vitamin C Ester is a fat-soluble nutrient that visibly improves skin tone and texture. Mica and Iron Oxides are natural minerals that add a translucent tint for even coverage.

In comparison to my MAC Studio Sculpt NW15, this product is extremely dark and a lot more water based; obviously I wasn’t expecting full, or even medium, coverage but it does give a gorgeous glow to my skin once applied – I apply it with my Real Techniques buffing brush by the way – and because it is low coverage the colour doesn't come out too dark, in fact, it settles into the skin beautifully. With the addition of my concealer and bronzer my skin looks healthy and radiant, and come 5 ‘o’ clock there are no creases or clusters of foundation anywhere to be seen.

Overall I’d the Sun Kissed moisturiser has opened me up to trying other products instead of a heavy foundation; I love this product so much, however it is a little on the pricey side. I always though that foundation was my life saviour and that I couldn’t go a day without it, when actually, a dab of this tinted moisturiser and a good concealer is all I need. If I bag myself a job within the time it takes for me to use this up then I may have to treat myself to it again.

Collection Hot Looks Fast Dry Nail Polish

Collection (2000)* Hot Looks Fast Dry Nail Polish 8ml - £1.79 at Boots / shade 48 Candy Floss (a pastel pink) and 49 Angel Wings (a light grey similar to the Rococo polish worn by Lily in this post on llymlrs.

If there is one thing I could never be tempted into spending more than I have to on, it would have to be nail varnish. Never have I paid more than five quid on a polish that I will no doubt be picking off within 24 hours of having it slapped onto my short nails. Admittedly, I do own a few Nails Inc. polishes which I do feel extremely posh using, but I got those free with Glamour magazine. As much as I enjoy the totally unnecessary colour names by O.P.I. I have never added one to my ‘must buy this before I die’ list. If I literally had money to s**t on then I would more than likely buy some posh polishes, but I don’t and so I stick to Collection, Rimmel and Models Own to accessorize my finger nails.

I get sucked in by cheating advertising schemes and good product reviews when it comes to foundation, perfume, skincare, heck even toners! But I always find that the cheap polishes do what I need them to – stay shiny for a few hours whilst I’m out, and then gradually chip away whilst I forget that I even put it on. It is one area of beauty I am not too bothered by; I do love ooh-ing and ahh-ing at nail art sites, like Wah Nails, but as long as my nails are short, neat and clean then I do not mind what fancy brand or shade they are. At the end of the day, no one’s really going to notice if I have Chanel or Dior on my nails are they? – are they?

I’ve got a few of these Collection Hot Looks polishes, they’re really small and cute and are only £1.79 so if I urgently need a colour that I don’t have, I just pick up one of these. If I want to treat myself, I go for Models Own or the Rimmel polishes. I’d love to have some Wah Nails nail art done on my nails if I ever visit London again, but this would be a serious well-earned treat in my eyes! Maybe one day –when I get a real world job- I will be buying O.P.I. and Nails Inc left right and centre, but for now, I have a five pounds limit on treating my nails. What polishes do you use? Am I being totally naive? Do the higher brand polishes actually have staying power of more than a couple of days?

I always wonder why anyone would use a primer over make up. The instructions always say something like ‘use alone, under or over make up for silky smooth skin’ but I thought the rules of a primer were to use before applying foundations so that your make up would stay put all day. That was until the day I spent fifty quid at a Benefit counter in Boots in order to receive my eye cream freebie – desperate times. As I mentioned in my last post, I patiently awaited the release of the Hello Flawless foundation and when that day arrived, the little blue plastic was used and my best friend caught me as the Benefit lady handed over my bag of goodies into my slightly psychotic –gimme gimme – and clammy hands – busted.

Sales techniques worked on my poor naive little brain, and I fell for the ‘I’ve been wearing this foundation since last night at like 10PM and it’s STILL on 7PM TODAY. You NEED the primer, I’m telling you’ line. Oh em gee, fifty pounds later and I was the proud owner of three new Benefit items. Proud until the moment I realised I’d spent a month’s worth of travel, on approximately 55ml of coloured liquid. However, luckily for me, the products actually do what they say they do. Of course, the obvious thing happened and the thing that I originally wasn’t too bothered about, was actually the thing I grew to love most.

I apply a pea sized amount of The POREfessional over my t-zone and cheeks with the Real Techniques buffing brush, and even before applying foundation over it, the difference in my skin is already visible. My pores are smoothed and my face looks brighter. In terms of how long my foundation lasts with this compared to without, I couldn’t tell you, what I’m most impressed about it this: you know there comes a time of day when we look in the mirror and foundation has begun to crack –!?- and cling to areas of your face where quite frankly, you wish it would not. At this point, we’d usually whack out our powder, concealer and foundation and get buffing. Three weeks down the line and we’re due a new foundation –who knew all those ‘touch ups’ would require so much foundation? One day, I followed the Primer recommendations and buffed a small pea of primer onto my cheeks and over my nose. Amazingly, it smoothed out my foundation and I looked like it was 8am and I’d just applied my whole face.

Next time you leave the house, leave your foundation at home and instead, take your primer – if you use one, as I’m sure they all do the same thing really. Only I decide to spend almost twenty five quid on one…. hm. When that time of day comes just gently sweep over some primer with your foundation brush and see if it works for you. I’m amazed with my new discovery, and I am sad to admit that I will be spending my money on this again when I run out.

H&M clutch / Mac All That Glitters / H&M TREND necklace

I thought I had been converted to silver for life until recently; in fact there wasn’t a point – until now- where I realised I was loving gold again. I think the high-street is stepping it up a notch when it comes to gold at the minute, I’ve especially loved gold chocker –style necklaces like this one. It is my graduation ball on the 26th May, I have my dress booked ready to try next week –no peaking yet though- and I think this sequined clutch will look so amazing with it. The dress is va va voom red so I am hoping that the clutch will look amazing with it. I haven’t went with your typical ‘ball gown'-esque’ dress as quite frankly, I just didn’t want to look the same as everyone else, and lets be honest, I’ve never been one to follow rules when it comes to evening wear. Not sure how to do my make up mind, does anyone have any suggestions? Would a matching red lip look too red?

I kind of wish I had of been charvy when I was little, as I’m sure I’d of owned one of those chunky rose gold star-bar bracelets; I think I could rock one of those at the minute, in a ‘I used to be a charv, so don’t mess’ kind of way. Only I wasn’t, I was the good girl with braces. Is anyone else loving gold at the minute or is it just me?

Helloooo May! This month it is my lovely Nana’s birthday –happy birthday Nana June- and in all honesty, it has come around all too quickly! Not because it’s my Nana’s birthday –obviouslayy- but because that means it is June next month, which means we are half way through 2012 almost, which means I am almost 22! Bloody hell, it will be Christmas before we know it. Anyway, my favourites for April have genuinely changed my life, maybe not the dress, but the rest, have changed my life. The dress can be seen in THIS POST third row down, and unfortunately is the only picture I have of it. I wore it for my friend’s birthday party and I felt so purrrdy. It’s a beaut. The Benefit eye cream has actually made a difference in my under eye area which I am so impressed with – I always thought eye creams lied to be honest. I bought the Mac blush on loan day just so I could use my stippling brush and I love it! I wore it in this FOTD and it just looks so perfect with my skin tone. I have a review coming up of the primer, but let me say this: this stuff, is a true miracle sent to me from gawwdd*. The Aussie leave-in conditioner is actually my first ever Aussie product I’ve used; I could use the crappest shampoo and conditioner in the world, but if I use this after it could of been bloody Chanel shampoo for all I cared - Amazing stuff!

saturday night FOTD / wifeys / April GlossyBox was a BABE

April has officially been the most un-sociable month of the year. At one point I swear I had no life inside of me; my desk became my cave and one too many Red Bull was consumed during my late night dissertation sessions. I began to miss my family and going out with friends, but I stuck in and finally finished it. Come hand in day, the overwhelming sense of relief that I’d heard of just was not present, until Thursday and Saturday night where relief arrived in the form of an extra large gin & tonic or two – or five? I’ve spent the last weekend of April recovering and chilling out with friends and family. I also decided to make Monday a weekend too, I’m not quite ready to start my revision just yet – please God, love me a while longer and let me enjoy my insides feeling ‘lifey’ again. In terms of my blogging side of life, I received a few products to try out and so far so good; I finally jumped on the Disco Pants bandwagon and they are currently on their way to me, all shiny and new. How was April for you? Not very springy is it?

These are literally the only photos I have of me wearing the foundation. What a pathetic attempt at a review…. BUG BUG.

A few months ago, I’d of said I’m a ‘I have the products that work for me, what else could I need'?’ kind of girl; now however, I am not that girl. Somewhere, along the blogging line, I’ve turned into a ‘but there could be something that works even better for me’ kind of girl. How this happened, I do actually know. The blogging world is a trustworthy one, an honest one and practically the most gorgeous world I have come across in my whole –almost – 22 years of life. The more we blog, the more I learn; the more I learn, the more I want! I practically sat outside Fenwicks awaiting the release of this foundation. What had my life come to? My days at university are dwindling, I’m growing bored, the only thing keeping me going was the thought of getting something NEW!. That’s what we all love at the end of the day isn’t it?

Without the stress of university, I may not need little pick me ups correct, but the point is, I actually like buying new things. This isn’t just a phase, and with the purchase of such an eagerly anticipated product comes the responsibility of a review. My dissertation is in, and I have a huge pile of impulse buys just waiting to be spoken of. So here goes, I’m back and I am here to tell you all I may have disserted you for a big chunk of invertebrate-ridden soil BUT my true love lies in making my face look as beautiful as it can be.

FYI: In my head the last two paragraphs were spoken the way Barack Obama speaks to his people. So I beg of you, read it again but like a true American. It will read better I promise.

Anyway, my point is I’ve missed blogging and so I needed to get some sort of release out there by being patriotic to the blogging world. I’ve been dying to review the new Benefit Hello Flawless foundation, but as I have already written more than my average post would be, I’ll keep it brief. My shade Believe in Me Ivory’ is the more pink toned palest shade of the 9 shades available, I’m usually an NW15 so my skin is most definitely a little more on the pink side. The colour is gorgeous, and as the coverage isn’t too heavy, it sits nicely on my skin without looking like it isn’t my skin. I don’t use powder with it as I like the dewy look, but I have been using The POREfessional primer underneath to help it last me throughout the day – I am reviewing this separately as it has become my newest friend. Sorry Dad.

I use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush to apply and it is the quickest part of my morning routine. For long days I do stick to my Clinique foundation but, this is perfect for spring lazy days with the girls or when you don’t want to look too done but still need to hide those red patches or to even out skin tone a little.

I’m so crap at reviews, I always ramble about crap rather than do a professional review; I like to try and keep my posts light hearted and easy to read, however if you feel like I should be a little more informative please let me know. I know my writing style, isn't very structured. Now that I am back, I’d like to say a massive thank-you to any new followers; April has been an especially quiet month for me, but it is certainly not a regular occurrence.

April is official Earth Month, and to celebrate GlossyBox have made this month’s box 100% biodegradable and includes products with natural ingredients. I honestly prefer this box over all the others, I love things organic and natural looking and lets be honest, we all feel good if we know we are contributing somehow. As always, before my box arrived, I cheated –I can’t help it, I need to know what is on it’s way to me- and was most excited by the Figs & Balm as I’ve never actually tried it.

I don’t think any of my previous GlossyBoxes have ever been so full. The Avuuri body wash took up a third of the box already, it was so nice seeing less of that crinkly stuff and more products –hooray GlossyBox! And from what I’ve spied on Instagram and Twitter, I’m not the only one impressed with The Natural Box. God loved me this month and knew my hands were in dire need of some TLC, and he clearly thought I needed to sort out my dry patchesssss around my nose – errrrrrrrrr?

The only thing I am disappointed with is the Inika lip liner as I never really use liner with my mountains of nude products –note to self: try some colour. I guess it will come in handy though if I ever grow some balls and try a red lippy or something. What did you all think of ‘The Natural Box’? I treat my dad to a Nandos today as he had never been – shock horror!- so thought I’d snap up some evidence of my face looking nice for once before I left the house. 5 more days to go before I am freeee – until the revision begins for my exam that is. I bought this gold necklace from the H&M TREND section but it is so heavy I’m not so sure about it –mehhhh. I’m on the verge of ordering disco pants too; I can eventually afford to buy them but I keep getting terrified of the ‘Begin Checkout’ button. SO MUCH MONEY! Are they worth it???

Hi laydeeez – and quite possibly the occasional man I hope! I’m going to just whack it out there and say that this post is just a complete waste of internet space, but I just felt like 7 days was just too long – seven days!?!- to go without a single blog post. I know I won’t stop bloody banging on about it, but the reason I am lacking on the blogging front currently is because I am 13 days –THIRTEEN DAYS!!- away from my dissertation deadline. Massive thankyous for the lovely girls who have wished me luck and sent nice tweets to me during my time of need. I am nearly there and the thought of having even one week off to focus purely on my blog is just bliss right now. I’m not the most organised or experienced blogger so I haven’t even got any posts lined up – spontaneous writer wink- but I have so many nice things to write about and film would you believe!?

As always, I’ll be pottering around Twitter whilst I take wee tea-breaks from my work and I try to photograph some nice things to pop up on Instagram – above you may see what I have been living in and what colour my nails are right now – throughout the day so you can follow me via my username @inordinateplush for both. Internacionale New Store in Sheffield–it’s a Beaut!

It’s 2 weeks until the next student loan instalment. I ponder this as I simultaneously wonder ‘what the hell am I going to wear this bank holiday!?’ , but these last few weeks before the big money it is guaranteed that almost every student is surviving on pennies right now. Those last few pennies from the January loan, remember that? Bliss. But being a woman, and being a blogger, I have an urge to shop again. The pastel trend is too over powering and I am failing to even consider a spending-ban!

Topshop is a no-go, and Warehouse is out of the question! What now? A shop you may have been familiar with in your teens is back on my radar; Internacionale. My friends and I are always baffled at how lush their pieces are and at a fraction of some other high street store prices. Their latest store opening in Sheffield last Friday is valid proof of just how cute their new range is –especially the shoes! I’m a sucker for a pastel and a scalloped hem or two. I’ve been after a colourful pair of skinnies this year and after my sister got a pair from Internacionale not long ago, and now seeing these pictures, I think I am destined to own some! BeautyUK cosmetics also stock their range in Internacionale stores and their blushers are looking quite cheerful at the minute. The bags have always caught my eye when I walk past my local Internacionale in Newcastle but they just keep getting better and better – satchels.. hello!?

My favourite pieces have to be the pink pastel skinnies, the denim jacket, the red satchel and the flowery doc martin-esque boots –in fact, let’s just make that all of the shoes! Their range of basics is phenomenal too and I think we all like to stock up on these throughout the year without blowing the bank balance don’t we? I’m not even sure if I’ve been tagged to do this, but I have watched a million of these deadly sin videos and recently seen a few blog posts so I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon. I don’t own a serious amount of beauty products –I like to use one thing up before I start a new one- but I will try my best.

GREED

What is your most inexpensive beauty item?

Tenna for whoever spies the TJHughes price tag*

I own a lot of inexpensive products, but I’m going with the one that I am actually amazed at, and that’s my St Moriz fake tan. I know a lot of you will gasp in horror, but then the other half will cheer me like a champion –hooray. Can we complain for £2.99 –really? I love how easy it is to apply, and yes application technique may take some practice shots but you get there in the end. There’s just no way I’m spending more than a fiver on something that’s going to wash off in a few days –and for someone who likes exfoliating, come on!

What is your most expensive beauty item?

I’m going to go with my Benefit Brow-Zings for this one. I literally hate forking out for it, but I need it in my life; I’ve tried a few snidey versions to try and save the pennies, but nothing quite fits the boat. It’s around £24 but it will last me months and months! I think Benefit in general is expensive.

What product do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Mac Fix+ without a doubt. I love the idea of it, but I can’t tell if it does anything for my face. I have been using it recently to ‘set’ my make up and it smells gorgeous, but what does it do!? I can imagine it being lovely in the summer when it’s hot –I really want the mini one for my bag- and it smells lush, but right now.. I’m not so sure.

What product has been the hardest to get?

Until recently, I haven’t been ‘in the know’ about new products and releases, I just bought things as and when I spotted them in Fenwicks or Boots. However, at the minute I am struggling to find the Maybelline Colour Tattoos anywhere near me, so this is a slight downer.

GLUTTONY

What are your most delicious products?

My –new- Jimmy Choo perfume! I am absolutely loving it. I actually bought it from a lovely fellow blogger the other week, and I have wore it every day since. The smell isn’t something I’d usually go for, I tend to stick to Chanel and Estee Lauder scents, but I am in love.-with this one.

SLOTH

What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?

Body moisturiser. At the minute I have a Burt’s Bees one and a Nivea one at my bedside but I’m either in a hurry in the mornings or too tired in the evenings after a bath. I’ve decided that creamy body moisturisers are just too much effort. Which is why I’m now using one of those body moisturising sprays.

PRIDE

What beauty product gives you the most confidence?

I think I’m going to say foundation, and at the minute I’m using Benefit’s Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation. I am really pale at the minute and my tiredness is not helping with how my face looks in general. So a good helping of this definitely makes me feel perky and ready for the day ahead. Before this one I used Mac’s Studio Sculpt which I’ve loved for a good 2 years, but it seems my skin has grown tired of it.

What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

Because who doesn’t want to see a shot of Mr Beckham in the middle of a beauty blog post? – Closer magazine

This obviously means physical attributes right? Well, I like a good forearm, a sturdy forearm, and if we’re just dreaming up a perfect man here, then I’d say broad shoulders, sexy stubble, toned stomach and a naturally hair-less back –just don’t even shave it if it is hairy guys, just don’t. There is simply nothing worse than tickling a guy’s back that has…stubble. !?

ENVY

What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

I really would like a Clarasonic as a gift; I am dreaming big here as they are so expensive. I love a good foamy cleanser in the mornings, preferably with a nice zesty scent to wake me up, and I just think the Clarasonic would be amazing at waking up the face.

Well, March has been slightly better than February I guess. February I seemed to do nothing, then when March came around all my deadlines hit me at once and I had a few breakdowns. Got 2 assignments done and managed to get my lab work done too, so I could focus on the writing of my dissertation. Spent the last week in the library with my two favourite girls. March consisted of many many meetings with lecturers where I cried and worried and worried and cried. It does help to talk to people and I now feel like I will actually graduate –hears to hoping! I finally got a wardrobe put in my room so it’s meant that I can plan my outfits a lot better and my room finally looks like a proper bedroom – I didn’t have a wardrobe since July, my clothes were kept in the boiler cabinet.. !? Definitely a good month in terms of getting back on my feet and just feeling a bit more me again. How was this month for you? Did you enjoy the crazy week of sunshine we had!?

Jewellery by Jaymie Mythical Collection

I can honestly say that jewellery is not one of my things. I tend to buy few pieces and just wear them over and over again. My collection of rings is just pitiful, but every piece I buy with love, and rarely do I troll internet sites and find pieces that shout at to me so to speak. However, recently I have come across many independent jewellery makers from sites such as Twitter and Etsy, and I can honestly say that I’d much rather support them than buy a piece from Topshop that everyone has –although I often do this out of convenience.

Jewellery by Jaymie has a new collection for SS12 called the Mythical Collection, as soon as I seen images of the pieces I was in love! The unicorn necklace especially is just adorable and since owning my Peter Rabbit ring I really would love to expand my collection of pieces like this. The crystal quartz necklace is just a no-brainer, it’s just fabulous isn’t it? – FABBBulous. Pieces from the Mythical collection are available now from Jewellery by Jaymie online store.

River Island Ring / MUA Lip Balm / Sanctuary Body Moisture Spray / New Look Blazer

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe it is the end of March! Which means that I half one month left of uni –one month!! I haven’t got many favourite this month as haven’t really been buying a lot –surprise surprise! I’ve been wearing the MUA Great Lips every day pretty much recently, I’ve been applying it with a lip brush which makes it last soo much longer and I just love the colour. Sometimes I wear it over Shy Girl if I’m feeling naughty – naughty? I rediscovered this Santuary body oil and I don’t know why I put this into my ‘never use’ bag –!? I’ve been really tired recently and the only thing I want to do after a bath is fall into bed, so this is amazing for super quick moisture on my lovely flaky legs – they’re not really flaky, although they would be, had I not wasted so much of my life moisturising! I have to say my all time favourite this month is the River Island ring; I only bought it last weekend but I love it that much it’s in the favourites. I just think it’s such a rare find for RI jewellery and I don’t own anything rose gold, so I am glad to have it in my life. FYI River Island have some good rings in at the minute! Last but by no means least, my bargain blazer from New Look. I know a lot of people have been getting the mint blazer from Primark but personally I think this one feels a little more luxurious and it was only £23 plus I got discount off so was around £20 really.

I hope you have got some better favourites than me this month! I can’t wait to finish my dissertation so I can focus on the important stuff in life– make up and face masks, lip gloss and body wash, you know.

I might not be blogging as much over the next few weeks as I have a lot of work to do at the minute and need to focus on that, I did not want to stop blogging without an explanation though. BUT I am always on Twitter –I cannot give this up just yet- and Instagram so if you’d like to follow me there my user name is @inordinateplush for both –keeping it simple. Come the end of next month, I hope to have gotten rid of my under eye bags, and I’ll probably be about ten tonne the rate I’m eating these Haribo, along with it a hefty loan instalment.

L’Oreal Sublime Bronze–A Holiday in a Bottle

L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Airbrush-Effect Self-tanning Dry Mist for Face 75ml – £11.99 at Boots

Hey ho spring time! It is Sunday as I’m writing this –the only time I feel it is suitable to write posts as I should be doing dissertation at every other flaming hour of the day!!- and I just wanted to say how lush was it today!? I was actually in the library all day but it just felt so summery during the walk to and fro. There were students grazing the SU area, basking in the sun with their pints of cider, it was lovely. So, now that the sun is coming out, my skin must do the same. And with it, comes my favourite face tan –along with a stupid price tag.

It was actually my mam who go me using this; we decided one day last year to give ourselves at-home spray tans, so we bought this and the one for your body while it was on offer. The body one is ok, and it does smell lovely, but nothing compares to my beloved St Moriz really; but this one is just a trip to Ibiza in a bottle! We nervously sprayed each other’s face and neck before going to bed, and awoke the next morning looking the healthiest I’ve ever seen!

I do spray a generous helping onto my face –I’d say an even 2 coats- as it’s a bit disappointing waking up with no healthy glow, I then sit around with my neck stretched for a while as to not get white lines where my folds are –those lines in your neck even – before going to bed when it is dry. I promise you, this is just lush. I always cringe a bit when spending £12 on this but it’s the best I’ve come across, so easy and quick to use, and let’s be honest, with tanning your face, you really can’t afford to get it wrong can you? Which face tan do you use? Have you use this before?

River Island Fancies and Quick Chit-Chat

After my BFF mentioned her recent trip to River Island, I couldn’t help myself and had to have a peruse online. After a quick scroll through their ‘just arrived’ section I have to confirm, River Island is doing good –shame they don’t do the student discount eh? I’m not going to take the credit for the fab flatform-esque shoe find, as it was actually my friend who spotted these in Newcastle; but I just love to look at them. Fortunately for me –and my friend- I will not be buying these at this present moment due to the fact that I have bought approximately 5 shoes already since the beginning of 2012 –my excuse is my arthritic ankles, hallelujah for creepers and flatforms! The skull earrings however, well, they may be mine by the end of this week. Maybe. Most likely. Definitely –I hope.

I don’t have much to report on tonight, I’ve had a very long day and so my tiredness is the reason this post is a little last minute looking. I’ve been a good student today, doing my dissertation in the labs followed by taking a few street style snaps for my photography assignment –it’s actually termed Geophotography, but that makes me sound like some sort of tree-hugger. I’m not used to being out of the house and on my feet for too long so I am well and truly knackered. I’ve had a chilled night in tonight, had a nice bath, watched The Apprentice and I’ve just read a journal before I sleep –that’s classed as my bedtime reading now, how depressing, but every little helps and all that. Oh, I also rediscovered a moisturising body spray by The Sanctuary and I have rekindled my love for it, it’s so easy for lazy nights like tonight. I may just have to buy more of these lazy sprays. Real Techniques Powder Brush

Real Technique’s Powder Brush - £12.99 at Boots

Since Samantha Chapman –one part of Pixiwoo- released her own make up brush line Real Techniques I have become a woman obsessed. On the day of release I checked every aisle in Boots, I started to panic as I began to realise that there were in fact, no brushes. Surely there’d be some sort of stand with a lovely display of shiny new brushes? Even the staff had little information for me –how could they not be more excited? Anyway, after almost giving up, there they were, on the lower shelf underneath Ecotools Brushes. One core set, one eye brush and a few kabuki brushes left.

A few weeks later and I own the core set, the stippling brush and now the powder brush. I knew the panic would be worth it –my face looks hellish good. I’m sure you’ve read a million reviews of the stippling brush and the buffing brush –found in the core set- so I will not bore you with another one –unless you want one that is- but I thought the powder brush deserved a review as it’s gotten lost in the hype.

I think that the requirements of a powder brush are pretty basic in my eyes, it needs to be big, fluffy and soft; and this one ticks all three boxes. In the past I’ve just used my cheap bronzing brush to apply my powder after foundation, I never thought powder a very big deal to be honest. Since using this one though I’ve noticed a difference in my face. I use to dust my face with my translucent powder and also to just buff my makeup into my skin after my long make up process is done. It really does help make my makeup look silky smooth.

If you haven’t already tried the Real Technique’s brushes I say go try them as soon as you can. They’re relatively inexpensive –comparing them to Mac or other posh brushes- and the quality is amazing. All the brushes are multi-use so you don’t necessarily have to use the eye brushes for example on your eyes, in fact the Pixiwoo sisters often use the dome shadow brush –which can be found in the Travel Essentials set- for concealer. Whatever you find works best, go with it.

The Real Techniques brushes can now be found in all major Boots stores in store and online.

Fame and Flatforms

Company April 2012

I am sitting on the floor, books all around me, my arse is numb and I would like a KFC. Only I can’t have a KFC because I need to keep reading, I need to keep doing this dissertation. Any thoughts of food are a mere dream of being able to procrastinate for a further 30 minutes. I do however permit myself a 10 minute break every half an hour, so here I am –break time. Just wanted to show you all my spread in Company magazine. Page 18 –wink. Well, a girl can dream, but still as if one of my tweets is in a magazine?! That’s my twitter name, and that’s my tweet, right there on page 18. It’s the simple things that keep me going in this life, and this really put a spring into my step! I tell everyone that will listen that ‘I’m in Company magazine you know’ I don’t continue to tell them however, that it is just a tweet and not actually my face or anything relevant to this big scary world. Nope, just my thoughts on the floral trend this season! I am going to keep this issue forever though.

I’ve got my eye on these flatforms from ASOS. After buying the black Vera flatforms (which are now sold out –boo) and painfully wearing them in, I am now in love with them. They are so comfortable and look gorgeous with black tights and little shorts or a skirt. At first it was these snakeskin ones vs. these floral ones but after a lot of help via Twitter (thankyou ladies) and a long hard think, I’ve decided I love the floral. They are black and I think will just look nicer with most of my things –and maybe the black will slim down my wide feet? I think they are more of an every day shoe compared to the snakeskin. What do you think? Should I go for it?

Turn your Living Room into the perfect Mother’s Day Treat!

Do you ever get bored of simply giving gifts? I know it sounds ridiculous, but I hate the idea of giving someone a gift and then never seeing it again. Selfish as that may be, I prefer to give gifts that can be enjoyed and a day be made out of it. So for this Mother’s day –18th March for all you naughty people who don’t know- I am treating my lovely mammy to a special night in. My at-home salon experience will consist of many a enjoyable activities, there will be new gifts and home made gifts, new things and old things, the room will smell like flowers and there will be an air of joy filling the room… Or at least, that’s the idea.

I done a spot of shopping today and got a few bits for the special night in, obviously for genuine stalking reasons, I have not included any specific items which are here next to me, but if you’d like to create the perfect girls’ night in for you and your mam –or mum, mummy, mother, ‘ma’- then I’ve included a few pieces you can buy and a few suggestions of what you might already have lying around.

Before she comes home, light some candles and prepare the goodies; I tend to buy pillar candles in bulk from Primark or Tesco, but Jo Malone do some fabulous candles, perfect as gifts and keepsakes –some people don’t like to light fancy candles. Any goodies your lovely mam likes pop into small sharing bowls/plates around the living room –or salon area of choice – or bake your own cookies and cupcakes for a personal touch. I would do this but I’m just a failure in the kitchen, so Millie’s Cookies’ Treat Box would be perfect –and no one will know…

Face masks are an essential part of a typical girl’s night in and let’s not kid ourselves, it will never not be funny seeing your mother –or anyone for that matter- with what looks like shit caked on her face –FYI. go for something chocolatey. Go for mudd sachets which can be bought from Boots, or up the ante and treat her to a deep pore cleansing Kiehl’s masque –not just a mask, it’s a masque- which she can keep for a few more uses after Mothering Sunday. Whilst your caked in face masks, what is the next most obvious thing to do? Manicures. If you have a set of glue on falsies lying around take them round and treat her to a full set –I get mine from Boots which are around £8 for 200 nails, glue included.

Use your favourite moisturiser to give you and your mam an at-home foot treatment, pop on some moisturising socks before wearing some cosy new slippers. There is simply nothing better than wearing new slippers –so bouncy. Oh I forget to mention, you simply must be wearing pyjamas, it is a necessary part of girls night; that and an ugly flannel headband.

Pop on your mother’s favourite dvd –something like The Notebook I am imagining, but it may well be a movie about Margaret Thatcher, who the hell knows- and dig into the goodies; you could even let your mam sit back and relax whilst you style her hair. Take round your stylers and hair products and just play around with funny hairstyles. And don’t forget to take some snaps! You know, for Instagram and all that –wink.

I think a night like this could be done so cheap, maybe even free if you have all the goodies, and it’s such a thoughtful gift to your mam; she deserves a relaxing day off. Treat her like a queen and get to know her all over again, get her to tell you the story of her first love –again- and the dreaded ‘The day I gave birth to you…’ story that we secretly all love. Have a lovely mothers day with your mammys, ladies!

Described as the most desirable GlossyBox yet, the limited edition Harrod’s box landed on my doorstep yesterday; I say landed but what I really mean is that we missed the postman and so my lovely father eagerly chased after the postman –who was a few blocks away by this point- just for my box. Best dad ever no? So as I pottered around Newcastle, I knew I had something lovely at home, patiently awaiting my arrival, and very lovely it is indeed.

How adorable is the Versace perfume!? I won’t lie, I did see some sneak previews of the items before I got my box but I wanted this perfume so bad! Purely for the cuteness element of it –I just like small things. I wouldn’t of cared what it smelt like, but it actually smells really fresh and I really do like it; that’s the bad side of these luxury samples, if you like ‘em you want to buy the full size –sorry bank balance. GB did include a 20% off code to use on any products from the Harrod’s site which I think is amazing, considering it’s Harrods!

I am so pleased with the size of the Bliss body butter but it really smells like Origin products –you know that orangey, tangy smell – and it’s a smell I just cannot handle. I got some Origins samples one day from John Lewis and I wasn’t feeling too good, with the smell being so powerful it just didn’t go well with me and now all things orange –fake orange- I just can’t stand really. I might give this to my mam or sister though as it is quite a hefty sample!

I am really happy with everything I got and I can’t wait to get using them up –and showing off my mini perfume bottle- and I’ll make sure to pop up a review if anything stands out as a keeper. What did you get in your box? Did anyone else get the Lancome foundation? I hear this wasn’t even expected as an item in the Harrod’s GlossyBox –could be wrong though.
