ive been thinking real hard on whether or not to continue this blog. ive been going to major life changes. some great ones and some i wish to completely forget about.
unfortunately in life we need to go through difficult times in order to understand why we walk this earth... and who can take this walk with us.
i know i am a very strong person, i got a great head on my shoulders. i am very independent, loving, and i probably care for too much for others whom i should not even spend one minute of my life on. i am a strong believer in karma. and by the looks of it ive done nothing but good in this life that it is now paying part and coming together. and by seeing so many great things fall on my lap these past few weeks reminds me that bigger and even better things are yet to come. i think ive come a long way. pushing my self to succeed in my life, i have an amazing job, and you truly find out who your true friends are when you need them.
so as one door closes another amazing door opens.

life has been a roller coaster... but the good kind.

work is work. always crazy, never a dull day.
mark and my sister are getting surgery next week. which means my birthday vacation has turned into a nursing position. wish me luck.
seems like the bday will be on mute this year... theres always the next one.
been trying to keep up with my good doings... i am expecting two thank you cards from TWO FRIENDS!!!! yes you two! where are my thank you cards????
its awesome when you realize how much you have accomplished in life. knowing you have a good head on your shoulders. yes sometimes you need to tell yourself this in order to tickle your own pickle. and im sure others will appreciate it when you tell them them they are as awesome as you. hahahaha
realized bath time makes a huge difference in my mood, which i am sure mark appreciates. ha!

so a few weeks ago i entered a give away on the demure muse. and can you believe i actually won!

but there was major confusion when i was contacted about my wins... some one from yak apparel hit me up asking to choose one of their hats...??? it thought i entered a different give away i forgot about. so i chose the womens blue earflap hat.

so later that day i checked the demure muse blog and noticed i in fact won the bracelet not a hat??? so i hit up katrina and she got everything figured out an i indeed won the jewelry.

a few days later, what do i get in the mail... a beanie and a bracelet??? i know... im still confused?

the bracelet give away was from ulinx. this is a pretty interesting line. their jewelry is magnetic. you design and put together.

unfortunately i did not receive exactly what i had requested. i emailed them asking if i could make a quick exchange but i never heard back from them. ohh well... assembly of it was easy but i kept freaking out since you can feel the magnetic pull...

i will be wearing with out the blue tile

yes it is really gone!!! can you believe it???

I started searching the internet for removable wall paper... and if i may say it was expensive! (about $50 per roll) it wasnt until one day a friend and i were talking about this and she mentioned she seem some on fab.com. so to test it out i ordered one roll. i chose the yellow chevron since the living room felt so dark and masculine.

looked good. i was sold... so i measured the walls to see how many pieces i would need in total. went back on fab.com and yup... they were no lover available there. thankfully i was able to purchase more from the main retailers site, artisan wall tiles, it was $2 more per piece totaling $20 per roll...

i was so excited when the shipment came in. and i wasn't hard at all...

i found it easier to start laying the pc and start rubbing from the middle, then left to right. this helped so much on preventing air bubbles. (excuse my un-manicured hands)

here is an example where the blade came in handy

woo hoo top portion completed.

im not gonna lie, working around the light switch was a bitch. but i was able to save the look by using the cut out piece and camouflaging it...

here are the end results... what do you think?

yes i know i am late...
Hope every one had a safe and amazing new year. how did you end up celebrating? i actually went out! can you believe it! this gma didnt stay home and fall asleep at 1030! i wanted to do something different. we ended up going over to marks friends tommy and allyson's home, and what a lovely home it is!
funny thing: so we were all bundled around the tv in the garage for the count down. (it was an outside get-together with an awesome bond fire) ...3-2-1... happy new year!!!! mark and i give each other a lil (peck) kiss... look around... and all the couples are still kissing... like movie kissing... "ummm quick luz i feel uncomfortable look away.... ohh shit they are still kissing... blow your horn as loud as you can and she if they stop... failed!!!"
heres to an amazing 2013! make the best of it, i know i will...

who would have thought... my kindness would be very appreciated...

this past christmas, i dug deep into my black grinch soul, and bought everyone in my building one of them giant sized candy canes. nothing special right? well my neighbors didn't think so. i placed these canes on everyones door with a lil message. and could you believe i received thank you cards, and even cookies! i even received a belated card one last night... it felt good knowing a brought a smile to some of their faces. great way to being more positivity in my life right?

Yes I jumped the bandwagon and started a juicing fast cleanse. Day one was easy. But unfortunately, the juicer we've been using for the past two years finally died as I was making my dinner juice. Had tea instead.
Day two: fuck everyone. Don't talk to me, and I can't believe how I never appreciated the beautiful thing called fritos corn chips. Hahahahaha. It's all I can think about. I am day dreaming of a family sized bag, opening it and just dumping it all on my face! Hahahaha thank god I'm only doing this till Friday. Pray for me!!! Hahahaha

typical NYE blog post right?
im looking at this coming year differently then i have in the past. this will be my last year in my twenties... my last year to act stupid and get away with it. right? which made me think a lot about who i am, was, and want to be.
these past few years i have been really unhappy. whomp, whomp. i am putting my foot down and will change shit around. first thing first, i need to start having fun again... i used to have fun 24/7. even if i had $15 to spend, i would make the best of it. possible goal??? to fall flat on my face after a night of pure fun?
another thing... them so called friends. i think one of the best things i did this year was not return calls from people who were polluting my life with negativity. yes we all have them people in our lives. in my opinion your friends reflect your personality, and surely do advertise the type of person you are. time for a new batch of friends?
i will also change my blogging habbits... at least a post once a week. this year was lame, i know. i have a feeling this blog will go more into the photography side since i plan on investing more time on my camera.
all i am asking from 2013 is happiness... and that will all depend on my actions, decisions, and positive thinking. Heres to 2013, the year of BAM, BAM, BAM!!!

yes i know trips to the salon can be expensive. many switch to at "home dye jobs." but please don't think you are not worth buying better quality color products. a trip to sallys is much better than the cvs box shit. you don't know how many people ive had to color correct... and that far more expensive than just going in for color...

"i dont know how to mix." yes it can be a bit intimidating and so fucken scary, but trust me its alot easier than it looks.

step one figure out what level you natural hair is... and by that what color are your roots? (not the color at your ends...)

(i dont know why it shows #17...etc look at it as level 8 9 10)

want to achieve this when your a natural level 4?

i look at this color as a level 7. so thats 3 levels you need to go up to achieve this color... so i recomend using a 30 volume developer. look at levels as steps on a ladder. if you need to go darker than what you already have... go down the ladder with 10 vol. 10 vol only deposits color. it doesnt really lift any color so never use when trying to go lighter... you will be disappointed.

if you cant achieve with at least a 40 vol... your gonna have to bleach, sorry.

most hair colors are 1:1. this means mix with 1 part color, 1 part developer. if you are mixing 2 oz color, mix with 2 oz developer. 2.5 to 2.5, 1.75 to 1.75, 8.5 to 8.5 get the point?

always start your application on the back of your head... your color is usually darker there since the sun doesnt hit it as much and naturally lightens it. (it will need a few more mins then the front to develop)

30 mins later (or depending on manugfacturers recommendations...) viola! your are looking hot!

ugh, work has been draining my energy. i work from 8-6, get home and zombie out on the couch. what a life right!

been buying tons of stuff for the apartment. the wallpaper looks amazing so i placed another order to fill up the panels.

gonna be on a tight budget this month... thanks christmas. only buying the kids gifts again... mark and i decided on a $20 limit for our gifts. and i cant wait for our annual xmas dinner at full house in chinatown... yumm
no idea what to do for this new years since i couldnt get a hold of the red hot chili pepper tickets under $200 whomp whomp... sad but true...
i finally colored my hair and noticed i never posted a pic of it.. but the toner already wore off so i need a retouch before i take a glamour shot.

yes i was lucky enough to attend the opening night of their 7 night stand. this makes it show #30 for me. i didnt have high hopes of loving the show. but guess what, i did! not bad at all. i wasn't super annoyed when they played just a girl, sunday morning or spiderwebs. yes i cant stand them songs live. they opened up with my favorite jam off the new album, push and shove. you dont know how much i wanted the hear this song live!

so ive been trying to eat healthier. sad. and now that i live near a trader joe's it seem like a perfect time to change my diet. so i started off fine. no problems. then i started to try out their frozen meals. and that when it all went wrong...

have you ever friend their curry rice? i never cared for the smell of curry, never. but something made me want to try their curry rice. so i whipped together that with their vegetable gyoza, eggplant and zucchini, and let me tell you it was yummy. but in the mid of the night i felt my tummy rumble, and rumble... and it stated to get worse by the minute. next thing you know i am running to the rest room every 15 mins. some how i still managed to get to work the next morning. but that was a bad idea right away. throwing up all day long. yuck!!!

that night was halloween night... waiting for trick or treaters. (they never showed up) fell asleep on the couch. woke up with a horrible fever and crazy pain. i seriously thought i was going to die gilbert! (in leonardo decaprios voice from whats eating gilbert grape)

now im deathly afraid to go back to trader joe's. maybe skip on the frozen meals? i will never even think of eating curry. i think i learned my lesson...

new apartment, help!

so we recently moved to a new place. we decide on this apartment because of the price, (super cheap) neighborhood, parking, and size. this place is super huge compared to our dtla apartment. but unfortunately it is super basic, and by basic i mean basic. the only rooms that have off white paint is the kitchen and restroom. the bedroom and living room seem to only have been painted with a primer coat cuz it is crazy white in my opinion. and yes i have been cursed with 1960's wood panels!!!

i bought a cute mirror from ikea. tried it out and fail. it was bringing so much more attention to the wall that i wanted to barf!!! yuck!!!

My friend Carolyn mentioned she'd seen some on fab.com, so right away i looked it up and BAM!!! $18/ pc. the cheapest I've seen so far. so i placed an order only for 1, just to test drive it and see if it will work out. i settled on the yellow chevron.

ive been thinking on turquoise walls... here are my inspirations... prob never end up looking close to this...

yes it is true lately ive been missing salon work. the drama, the fights, the back stabbing, ohh how i miss you!!!

it has been about 5 years since i have last worked in a hair salon, and lately i cant help but miss it.

the last year i worked at regis was tough. i was working two jobs. bcbg from 6-3am, then rush over to regis from 4-9. i even had to work saturdays. i even remember being so tired on saturday evening that i would call in pizza delivery on my way home so by the time i get home pizza guy is getting there too. eat a whole medium pizza and then fall asleep for the rest of the night. (fatty)

i think what i miss the most are my clients. some of them were so hilarious... some were so weird to the point it was hilarious. I've met so many nice people how ive managed to build friendships, especially with Kimmy. who knew we would hit it off and keep in touch after all these years.

last night mark and i too a quick stroll at the galleria, i can finally walk in a mall and not be completely annoyed by every one. wowzers! (regis was in a mall)

maybe i should do the two job routine again? a few extra bucks wouldnt hurt. ugh but being even more tired is the scary part that stops me. things we do for what we have passion for.

yes so am i. i mean I'm not a hardcore fan, but im a gf of a hardcore fan... so unfortunately i get stuck watching all the media coverage and i cant help but get emotionally attached.

i get to see all the craziness when it comes to true lakers fans. i thought it was just mark, i thought he was koo koo, but no. i see it as a cult. people wear hats, shirts, jersey's and even tattoos. and no matter where you are at "representing," another fan will stop to say hi and talk about the current lakers events. even if they dont have the time to catch up, they will pass just chanting "lakers."

mark some how convinced me once to hit the streets of dtla on their last championship win. OHH MAA GAA, that was some scary ass shit... i have two ways i compare that experience. now i know what its like to be part of a herd of cattle. every one starts off on one point... walking together. next minute there are police men in riot gear at one end with rubber bullets and them smoke thingys (yes i dont know what they are called)... next thing you know we all start running back all scared like poor helpless cattle. baahahahahaha the other is your personal point of view... i felt as if i was in the movie cloverfield. no idea what was down the street... surrounded by tall buildings, i started to scare myself and was ready to piss my fucken pants!

rant #1: i love that mark is very passionate about "his team" but cut me some slack... if i watch the laker game with you, why wont you watch clueless with me?!?!?!?!?

can you believe we have not signed up for cable since we moved to our new place! yes! reason? we don't get time warner in our area = no laker games = boycott all cable companies! (at the time)

im not gonna lie, it was pretty damn tough at first. i was missing my E!, bravo, and especially food network. but i think im over them... for now. just wait till nurse jackie comes back, and ill prob be having a shit attack. so what did i do? i actually had to buy an antenna for our tv's. weird!!! i was very surprised on the new designs for antennas, they look nothing like they used to! "this is an antenna or a picture frame???"

but lucky enough ive been able to get hooked on a few shows...

i actually started watching parenthood from the very beginning. ohh man season two was tough! theres like 23 episodes! i was ready to give up! i was even having night mares based on some of the story lines. woke up and told mark my bad dream and all he says to me is "you gotta stop watching parenthood. baahahahaaha... still working my way through season 3, love this show the most!

Lately life has been blah!

I feel stuck. I wake up go to work, go home and go to sleep. And guess what. I wake up the next day and do it all over again.

I haven't been inspired to do/finish any of my posts, to the point I even thought of deleting my blog.

And it's not just my blog. It's everyday things. From my weight loss, home decor projects, to my hair... Just put me out my misery please.

So after thinking about it I will try out a lil project and see if the wheels start turning on this sucker...

What do you usually do when this feeling comes over you? Any tips?
