I was eighteen years old and had no clue what a CONSULTANT was or why I wanted to be one, but I knew that I wanted to be that because it dealt with business. When I first went to college, we had to create an email address and I don't want to tell my age but because technology is evolving at a rapid pace, I guess it's ok that you all know that we weren't even required to have laptops when I went to college. So as I am sitting in the library - Yahoo waiting for me to choose a username, the only words that popped into my mind was BUZINESWOMAN. At this point Google wasn't invented and the First Name - Last Name email concept wasn't as important as it is today. So I chose something that described who I knew I would one day become.

Mighty funny, how life sort've places you on the right path when you are not even thinking about it.

So not only have I become a BUSINESS WOMAN I am a CORPORATE CHIC and unapologetically I am a woman that believes in sharing, encouraging, writing, and conducting BUSINESS.

Kindness has become so rare in this evolving technological driven society and everyone knows that quote...if you want to commence change, it must first begin with you. (Ghandi)

While conducting research online, I stumbled across many amazing calendars with things that we could do to get this movement going and one of the best is listed attached. Let's put our spin on this amazing concept.

Unity is one of the words that is propelled to the top of the list of words this month. I have a themed out calendar that has a 'Word of the Month" to meditate upon daily. Last month, the word Peace was the word I focused upon. Meaning, PEACE was in my prayers, in my meditation, in my soul, and in my spirit. Peace is one of the many Fruit of the Spirit and one of the hardest to conquer within this world. We are living in a society infused with war and hate and the only things that we can do is fight with prayer which consist of using powerful, spirit-filled words.

We are mere spirits that were placed into this earth for a purpose. We each have a unique gift and one of the many gifts that most of us have is the power to pray. This unites us and when we do things in unity it impacts and influences in a major way.

So Monday through Friday for the next three weeks, join us as we unify and complete 15 Random Acts of Kindness. It's Really the small things that propel us as a people to Greatness.

This is the first day or the beginning of a brand new month.

I am always excited about "new beginnings."

Although everyday is a new beginning it's just something about the beginning of a new year, a new month, a new week, a new book, a new anything - that gives me this amazing giddy feeling about goals and accomplishing them.

New Beginnings keep me motivated and it gives me even more energy to re-group, evaluate, and even introspect my efforts in each area of my life (personal, mental, spiritual, and emotional). The biggest lesson I have learned about new beginnings is understanding that if I take it one day at a time, I will be able to accomplish more.

Last month, I realized that it doesn't take me long to do anything as long as I can get them done at night. The message that was deposited into my spirit yesterday that stuck was sacrifice is connected to next level, new season....new beginnings.

So what has happened since the last post back on January 13, 2015??? First let me scream it to the top of my lungs - Happy 2016!

Well, I have been busy. Of course many of you have as well. We all know that.life has a funny way of slowing us down to ensure that we focus on the things that are important. We must continue to self-evaluate in order to become a better person. We must always strive for excellence-not perfection.

2015 was a year that allowed me to introspect. Many blog posts ago I posted about introspection and the importance of looking within. It is the only true way to develop and apply that to your life daily.

That is what this New Year should bring. Not only should we expect amazing opportunities and blessings, but we must be able to place everything within its proper perspective.

So there is laundry list of things that have happened and I am excited to share them with you. I apologize for the neglect. There are no excuses for poor time management. But I really accomplished some amazing things!

March 2015 - Co-Founded TakeOver Queens with the amazingly talented Ronnita Jones who is also an author and entrepreneur

April 2015 - Re-created the Corporate Chics novel including the book covers - They are super #Dope and the re-write of the books to create the trilogy are going to leave readers wanting more and critics handing me titles such as New York Times Best Seller, National Best Seller, International Best Seller, etc.

May 2015 - Had an amazing re-launch of the Corporate Chics book with the TakeOver Queens brand

July 2015 - Participated in the Harlem Book Fair

October 2015 - Take Over Queens Sip-N-Read Event

November 2015 - Corporate Chics Volume 1 Coloring and Activity Books Printed and ready for distribution

There 3 Ways to Create the Life You Desire

1. Everything starts with a thought. If you don't think it, you can't speak it. Change the chatter in your mind. You must be willing to discipline your thoughts. Controlling your thoughts takes practice. Set a timer on your phone at least three times per day to conduct an inventory of what you are thinking. Think positively.

2. Create affirmations that speak to your desires and constantly remind yourself of them by repeating them.

3. Believe what you declare/affirm. If not, you are wasting your time, energy and breath.

Your senses are totally shut down when you are asleep.

WakeUP
Nothing great will happen for you until you wake up.
Get control of your time.
Victory is won one day at a time.
Doing something for 24 hours creates a pattern.
Victory comes daily.
Give yourself a 24 hour goal of living on purpose and within intention and multiply it.
This is the strategy.

WORK
Work is about doing things right and doing right things.
(Efficiency & Effectiveness)
Unemployment creates negativity.
The same happens in the Christian world when you are not working for Christ.
When you don’t know what to do, do the next right thing that you know.
Have a purpose in your mind to work towards.
Discovering your purpose and work toward it

What is it that you need to work on taking off?
Those who are friends to your weakness, they are enemies to your greatness (strengths).

There is power in moving.
Anything that you allow to sit, goes bad.
God created us for movement
Success is always connected to motion.
You cannot stay where you are once you start walking with God.
If you get stuck, get up and walk. Placing yourself into motion, clarity comes.
You must work out your own soul salvation.
Use what you got and start where you are.
The enemy is not afraid of anything that is not on the move.
That is why our lights should shine.
LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE. Be a MOVING LIGHT.
Do not be paralyze by fear.

WAIT
Your walk will always lead you to where you have to wait.

I AM are the two most powerful words in the Universe.

You want to know why? Because you have the ability to shape your life and transform your world with these words. One of our Creator's favorite phrases to trump the enemy is I AM. Because we are made in the image of the Creator, we all have that same power. Don't believe me? Take a look at some of the influencers of our century: Lil' Wayne professed that he was the greatest rapper alive (of course it was not until Tupac and Biggie were deceased) but he kept saying it because he truly believed it. Jay Z said this same statement and although in my opinion, they are not the greatest rappers alive, respectively; they have gained recognition all over the world because they said it and Believed it!

The thing about affirmations or declarations is that YOU MUST BELEIVE WHAT YOU SAY. What sense does it make for you to affirm but not truly feel and believe it?

Yesterday, I was watching this video by Shanel Cooper-Sykes (I hope I spelled her name correctly) but she was speaking of this very thing in the form of LOA (Law of Attraction). One of the analogies she used was watching our words like a two year old child trying to cross a busy street.

Being mindful of your words or purposely choosing what you say, not only creates your world but it creates BOLD, COURAGEOUS, and FEARLESS individuals who realize their uniqueness.

The reason it is so important for me to spread love, encouragement, and empowerment is because "we perish because of lack of knowledge." There is a Daughters of the King Daily Devotion that comes straight to my phone. Meditating and reading inspirational passages help me to consciously work on the inner me. So as I am working to make and keep me whole, I believe I am commissioned to do the same for all those within my reach. Today, the Personal Challenge was to Create a List of ways you are useful. This AM's devotion was understanding purpose and I see this just as useful; anything that could be used to help self-develop should be implemented in your life little by little.

Daily make a practice of affirming and declaring with good intention and watch your life shape and contour to your thoughts and words.

I am a woman who believes in inspiring through my experiences, encouragement, and empowerment.

OMG.....

I Have been soooo MIA!

But the good news is, I have been working in my mad lab like a Scientist!

Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, met fans during an exclusive in-store event at the Downtown Seattle store on Saturday, August 2, following his first Nordstrom appearance in June at the Roosevelt Field location in Long island, NY.

50 was in town to promote his partnership with SMS Audio, a collection of premium wireless headphones, earbuds and accessories, which combines technology, functionality and style in every product. Nordstrom carries the new Street by 50 On-Ear Wired and In-Ear and On-Ear Wired Sport Headphones, as well as, the SYNC by 50 On-War Wireless Headphones and Wireless Speaker ($79.95-229.95) in the Men's Furnishings department.

From a crowd of over 500 customers, about 250 of them had the chance to meet the Grammy Award winning rapper who also signed purchases.

Earlier in the day, the rapper, entrepreneur and actor particpated in a live Twitter chat on the Nordstrom channel. Some of the questions customers asked him during the hour-long chat oncluded: i info on the product line, h is favortie food ("Chicken"), his favorite new artist ("Kidd Kidd"), quote for life ("Enjoy the moment") and how to get rich ("Develop a passion; a person has to be passionate about something for them to do it enough").

I first learned about affirmations when I got hold of Iyanla Vanzant's Acts of Faith daily meditation. The book was influential in my life as far as lessons and applying the wisdom she placed in it. Daily she would state an affirmation that pertained to what the meditation was about. Here is where I learned that if you repeat a statement over and over and over in your mind that it leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen. -TNG

This really small shoe business that started on the west coast; Seattle, WA to be exact, has flourished into a Big Business that has expanded into over 117 Full Line Stores, 2 Jefferey Boutiques, A Clearance Store, and Two E-Commerce Sites. Established in 1901, this retail store has become a conglomerate and their consumers loyalty is what helps the business thrive. Great interview!
