Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort

If you ask me, Wilderness Lodge is one of the best properties at Disney World. There’s something magical that happens when you walk into the lobby (especially November - December) and it feels so grand but also so warm and inviting.

The property also has some of the best food you’re going to find too, so that’s always a win in my book + one of the most underrated character meals!

Why do I need a Travel Agent?

Travel Agents are often asked for "deals" and "best prices" and for the most part, we will have the same price you would get if you book direct. There are occasions when we will have a better price, but the real value is the level of service.

When you go to a website that room recommendation has nothing to do with you or what you might like. Carnival has no clue that you have never cruised and don't know how gratuities work. The website is not going to tell you that room it's showing you is in the noisiest or has no privacy. You likely won't see Expedia tell you, "This resort is known for food poisoning outbreaks."

There are many times when someone will tell me, "Well the website is cheaper than what you sent me." Yes, that's because the website is showing you the bare bones price. Or you have a VIFP offer that is cheaper, but you actually have a VIFP offer that for a slightly higher price will include an onboard credit that already makes up for the price difference, plus you'll drink free in the Casino the entire length of your cruise, and you'll receive an arrival & departure gift.

When I provide a vacation quote I include things specific to YOU, because I have taken the time to get to know you, to learn what you like and don't like. Maybe there's a small and specific detail (like your husband can only drink domestic beer) that would make or break your entire trip. These details allow me to tailor your options to what I know you're looking for in a way a website just can’t. Today Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel officially transforms into Pixar Place Hotel!

These rooms are so fun with touches like pillows inspired by the Pixar Ball and lighting reminiscent of the Pixar Lamp.

When it comes to airport arrival I am always team "better to get there early" But the truth is, my personal anxiety aside, there are good reasons why airlines encourage passengers to arrive 2-3 hours before their scheduled departure time.

Sometimes the lines to check your bags or to get through TSA can be backed up and take forever.

Arriving early allows you to be prepared for an unexpected gate change.

I've even had clients stuck in traffic just a few miles from the airport.

I feel like arriving early allows you to start your trip on a good foot. Who wants to start their vacation where they had to run through the airport? Or worse, where they missed their flight and have to try to get on another flight?

Staying on property during your Walt Disney World vacation is part of the magic. Finding the perfect resort can sometimes be a little daunting.

Resorts are broken down into 4 categories: Value, Moderate, Deluxe, and Deluxe Villa.

Value Resorts are very affordable, basic accommodations, decorated with bright and fun themes, and are full of families

Moderate Resorts are large, spread out resorts. They tend to be a bit more peaceful in comparison to the value resorts, and the accommodations are a bit larger in comparison.

Deluxe Resorts put you closer to the theme parks, offer multiple transportation options, and feature large, luxe accommodations.

Deluxe Villas are going to offer studio, one bedroom, two bedroom, and even 3 bedroom accommodations, with added amenities, at select Deluxe Resorts.

When you're looking at cruises you've got to think about:

and then you go into Interior, Oceanview, Balcony, or Suite (plus all the sub categories)

It can be a little overwhelming, so I want to share with you which cruise port I'm most looking forward to in 2024 (and the promise that I can make this process a lot less overwhelming with just a few easy questions!)

A Sandals Business Developer once told me the wildest "Sandals Butler Story" he had ever witnessed and I want to share this with you too. The husband wanted to surprise his wife with breakfast on their balcony, but couldn't figure out how to make that happen without waking his wife up as the Butler would need to walk through their sleeping area to access the balcony. The Butler got a LADDER and brought their breakfast up onto their second story balcony I hope he got a good tip. While I don't recommend expecting your Butler to risk life and limb for your dining needs, it just shows their service is unmatched!

How Does the Deposit Work for a Universal Orlando Vacation?

If you've booked a Disney Vacation, you're probably aware that the deposit is always $200. Whether you have 1 person in the room or 6 people in the room, it's always that.

Universal Orlando does things a little differently. The deposit is $50 per person. So if it's a party of two, it only takes $100 to lock in your Universal Orlando Vacation Package!

Another difference is that final payment is due 45 days prior to travel (Disney is 30 days.)

If you want to get a reservation off the market, but aren't ready to commit to the deposit, just like with Disney I can put a Universal Orlando Vacation package on a complimentary hold for you for 3 days.

Best Pools at Disney World

If you’ve ever been to Disney World you know it can be exhausting (and if you haven’t…well now you know the secret!) One of the best ways to relax and beat the Florida heat, is to spend a day at one of your Disney resort hotel’s swimming pools! Yes, plural. Most resorts will have multiple pools ranging from quiet pools to great, big family fun-sized pools.

If you’re looking for a pool with a slide, you’ll only find this feature at the moderate, deluxe, and deluxe villa resort hotels.

If you like to be close to the pool, many resorts offer pool view or even preferred pool view rooms. This is something I can help you with!

The Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is the largest pool on property and is themed after Finding Nemo.

Disney resort hotel pools are open year round, and are heated if the temperatures do drop!

Don’t want to pack a life preserver for your child? Disney Resort hotels have life jackets available for both adults and children.

Want to feel like you’re at a waterpark without actually going to the waterpark? Stormalong Bay is a 3 acre water wonderland shared by Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Resorts is a great option. It features a 230 foot long waterslide, a lazy river, and 3 whirlpool spas.

Magic Band 2.0 at Disney World

If you have ever mentioned to anyone that you were even just thinking about going to Disney, you know that everyone has an opinion about Disney. There are FB groups filled with so many big personalities and big opinions (and just plain bad information) that it's sometimes overwhelming to try to understand. So I always try to be as transparent as possible with my clients when it comes to everything related to their vacation. And sometimes that means I have to share my, maybe, unpopular opinions like how I just do not really like MagicBand 2.0.

I own a ton of regular MagicBands. I have always preferred the band to the card or MagicMobile. It's just very quick and simple, and I like anything that makes my life easier. One of the things I love about the original MagicBands is that the longevity of the battery life is incredible. My most used band is over 5 years old and still going strong!

Upon arrival, your bands need to be charged and then you'll be able to sync them to your My Disney Experience app, which will allow you to change color preferences, monitor battery life, and change the sensitivity. Charging the bands is key because if the battery is low it will only do the basic functions; park tickets, room key, charges to your room. These have to be charged every night, so if you're a family of 5, you better plan on purchasing a multi USB charger. And they light up and flash the entire time they charge...so lock them in the bathroom or cover them up.

One of the features of the bands is that there are haptics that take place and light up during the fireworks and nighttime spectaculars. As interesting as I thought this concept was, I realized it was frustrating for a lot of people. If you're someone who is on that once in a lifetime Disney trip, this is a distraction from the amazing show taking place.

Overall my opinion is that I likely will not be purchasing another MagicBand+ unless they stop offering the regular MagicBands. It's a very cool concept, but it's just not for me. Will you regret buying one? Probably not. But do you need it? Absolutely not. I would say save that extra $10-$15 additional per band and just buy the regular MagicBand if they are available!

One of my favorite meals at Disney will always be 'Ohana dinner! The best is that dinner is all-you-care-to-enjoy. You can ask for more of anything that you enjoy. The meal includes:

Incredibles Themed Rooms at Disney's Contemporary Resort

When Disney's Contemporary Resort refurbished their rooms, they went with an "Incredibles" theme. These rooms were always spacious, but the cool color scheme and modern furnishings really do make things very comfortable. (These rooms are such a great option for a family of five.)

Waterslides on Disney Wish

Do you love cruising and love waterparks? If so, I think you will love the two awesome and popular slides on the Disney Wish.

A first for Disney Cruise Line, The Aqua Mouse is a dark attraction/water coaster that can only be found on this brand new ship.

The Slide-a-Saurus Rex is your classic double loop slide similar to those on other ships, that packs in tons of Toy Story themed fun too.

Pro Tip: Lines can be long. Try to go first thing in the morning, last thing at night or during dinner seatings for the shortest waits.
