Everybody wake up, it's time to get down

School's finally over!

2011-06-20T17:37:00.001-07:00

And honestly, I've spent the first few days playing LittleBigPlanet... I should probably go out and do something.

Hey all!

School's finally wrapping up, woo! Just two days left and then exams!
It's that time when I get both excited and sad. It's exciting to leave all that stress behind me, but also sad to leave people behind me. I wish there was some way I could still see everyone! Well, minus a select few...

Anyways, that's really all the update I have for now! Here, have a crappy haiku that I just wrote to make this post less boring! Feel free to judge my lack of poetic talent.

Although my light fades
I will always watch over
You inside of dreams

End of the school year stress, you seem infinite... And finals, you make me even crazier with stress and worry! It's times like these I wish I were a slacker who didn't have these problems! But no, this is the school experience of an over achiever... Oh well, that'll just make me feel accomplished when I finally get rid of you! Ha!

Well, I don't mean to ramble, I don't have much of substance to say at the moment, just needed to vent for a second due to the temporary absence of my friend who I usually vent to. Thanks all for reading, here's a poem for your troubles ^ ^

"since feeling is first" by e.e. cummings

since feeling is first
who pays any attention
to the syntax of things
will never wholly kiss you;

wholly to be a fool
while Spring is in the world

my blood approves,
and kisses are a better fate
than wisdom
lady i swear by all the flowers. Don't cry
- the best gesture of my brain is less than
your eyelids' flutter which says

we are for each other: then
laugh, leaning back in my arms
for life's not a paragraph

and death i think is no parenthesis

"I saw a man pursuing the horizon" by Stephen Crane

2011-06-01T12:51:00.001-07:00

I saw a man pursuing the horizon;
Round and round they sped.
I was disturbed at this;
I accosted the man.
"It is futile," I said,
"You can never -"

"You lie," he cried,
And ran on.

This game looks beautiful, truly a work of art. I can't wait for it, the settings look stunning.

"Mad Girl's Love Song" by Sylvia Plath

2011-05-29T08:24:00.001-07:00

I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,
And arbitrary blackness gallops in:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed
And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

God topples from the sky, hell's fires fade:
Exit seraphim and Satan's men:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I fancied you'd return the way you said,
But I grow old and I forget your name.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

I should have loved a thunderbird instead;
At least when spring comes they roar back again.
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

I guess I should say a little something about myself since I just made this blog :O

My name is Abby.
My favorite animals are giraffes.
I love math!
I have two cats, Dolores and Jack Bauer.
I love poetry. I'll post a lot of other people's work, but never my own because it's too embarrassing.

I can't think of anything else right now, I'll expand this later :)

"I, Too, Sing America" by Langston Hughes

2011-05-28T17:25:00.001-07:00

I, too, sing America.

I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.

Tomorrow,
I'll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody'll dare
Say to me,
"Eat in the kitchen,"
Then.

Besides,
They'll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed--

I, too, am America.
