The History of Valentine's Day

Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday? The history of Valentine's Day — and its patron saint — is shrouded in mystery. But we do know that February has long been a month of romance. St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. So, who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred.

One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men — his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

Hello my fellow blogger how was your weekend?Mine was great its Mondays i hate.....I was late getting my kids up its really bad when your own child has to wake you up.Well needless to say i got everyone on time to school.I started off dragging i had to have at least 2 lattes for breakfast and then that got my day going.I got the chance to work n 5 aprons today.I'm been working on a couple of Valentines aprons.Allot people tell me their to cute to wear.Their so many uses for aprons.Use your imagination you ladies know what i mean,with Valentines Day and all.What do you do on Valentines Day.I love a Valentines Trees it makes a great conversation piece.I been busy making Valentine lollipops for my kids.Mondays can be a drag but i love when Fridays get here.

Good Day...........Yesterday was My sons Birthday,and he had a great time.Birthdays are so special,its always a excuse to spend more when it comes to birthdays don't you think.I love to pick out a cakes.My son likes spongebob so i went with that cake and he loved it.He couldn't wait to take the spongebob ,and his friends off the cake.It was allot junk food and toys he got even though it rained outside it was a great birthday for him.It was just me in my kids nothing spectacular He had a Sponge Bob cake.He enjoyed every moment. Its Friday and I'm going to the football game i think. I'm going they just built a new stadium for the High School and its gonna be cold tonight I Been really busy the fair is in 2 weeks so i been working hard on my aprons.Anyone twitter on here?I hope everyone has a great weekend be safe and God Bless.

Good day how are you?Thank goodness for Friday.....I been really busy yesterday i went and bought another sewing machine.I love this sewing machine it does so much.If your gonna buy a sewing machine u should get this one.I know my next project is children's aprons.My schedule has been so crazy.I will finally have the chance this weekend to do something with my kids.My sister been keeping me busy i had to make 10 military aprons and personalize them.I had to put a couple things on hold.I'm so ready for for the weekend.I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend.

Shall i say good night.Well today me and my family spent today going to church,and then we went on a picnic,and had a potatoe sack race it was alot of fun.As the children played a had the chance to sit back and relax and think.Im currently going through some changes in my life my husband told me he needed his space,so dammmmmmm it Iam giving it to him,everyone keeps asking me am i okay?If anyone ask me one more time i think Im gonna scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!I dont have time for things like that to stress me out.My friends keep my head level plus i just keep myself busy.Sure we been married a longtime,but I have changed as he has.All that matters to me is my children,Im still good looking,and attractive never desperate.I never let a man think Im hung on him iam not the type.My kids,my family and friends is all i need i did all that crying last week.But today made me think about where i will be in a year,and a big smile came to my face.Its fall now time for leaves to fall,and the October Fest.

Good Afternoon ,Its been raining all day i just found out about my kids high school,has the swine flu...So now i very cautious about the hand washing,my kids think I'm crazy they say iam acting over protected.Okay I'am a mom!!!!!!!!!!!!Thats what we do.I'm tired I have to get back and make more aprons i want to take a bath.A hot bubble bath......Its been raining alot in Texas.I don't like all this rain i love sunny days.Well till later bloggers its back to work..........
