Words of Appreciation for EG and Stockbee

I joined Stockbee in mid-September with the goal of gaining a deeper understanding of the nuances behind EPs. Before joining, I had traded a few good ones — NUTX, AREN, SEZL, DAVE, and ISSC, for example — but I couldn’t quite figure out which ones to hold for longer-term moves or when to take profits. As a result, I sold all of them too early and left a lot of potential gains on the table.

After joining Stockbee, I dove deep into studying EPs and the entire EP family. Since then, I’ve focused exclusively on trading EPs, DEPs, and EP9 setups. My account has grown by more than 50% since joining — the best performance I’ve ever had in such a short period. I do recognize that the past few weeks have been exceptional for EPs, offering tremendous opportunities, but without Stockbee’s knowledge and structure, I would never have been able to capitalize on them so effectively.

Some of my biggest winners over the past few weeks include GSIT, STI, NVTS, SPRB, NUAI, UAMY, BKKT, and DVLT — many of which I was only able to take thanks to the new process and deeper understanding I gained from this site and the detailed EP deep dives.

I also managed to solve a long-standing issue in my trading execution. Due to regulatory restrictions at my job, I can’t make intraday trades, which means I can’t manage risk on day one and can only sell starting from day two. This limitation made it difficult for me to take meaningful size right from the open. My new approach is to start with a smaller position and, if the trade works, add size at the end of the day. While this doesn’t give me the perfect entry price, it’s a practical and effective solution given my constraints. It’s such a simple idea, but I had never thought of it before. EG talked about those “eureka moments” in trading — when things suddenly click and start working. This was definitely one of those moments for me.

To sum it up, I want to sincerely thank the entire community, and especially EG, for building this platform. It has done wonders for my trading, and I’m excited to see it continue to grow, improve, and help many more traders in the future.

Find the young Episodic Pivots

The most explosive Episodic Pivots occur in stocks that have Gone Public in the last 10 years and have a capitalization of less than $ 10 billion once they enter their growth phase.

When stocks go IPO, many times they may not be ready for immediate growth. Many are development-stage companies. They IPO when conditions are right for an IPO, as they need money to grow.

Their real moves start when they start growing revenue aggressively. After the IPO, they typically start going down. Most trade 50% or more below their IPO price and get neglected. They will have very low capitalization, low fund ownership, and low interest from analysts and general investors.

In the meantime, they continue to work on their business, and some of them start growing very rapidly as their product or service takes off. When they come out with earnings, they surprise everyone big and then the explosive move happens as funds buy such growth stocks.

Not all IPO reach these milestones; most just disappear in a few years.

To find the IPO with good revenue growth, I use the following two scans in Marketsurge.

This scan finds stocks incorporated or IPOed in last 10 years that have a market capitalization below 11 billion and have two quarters of revenue growth of 39% plus.

Most big winning stocks appear first in this scan before their significant move. This helps in finding Episodic Pivots based on real growth as a catalyst. It also helps to enter them as delayed reactions EP.

This list is tiny and allows you to focus on the most attractive young growth stocks in the market.

How to gauge market trend using Guppy MMA

The Guppy Multiple Moving Average (GMMA) is a technical analysis indicator developed by Daryl Guppy from Australia.

It is designed to identify changing trends, breakouts, and trading opportunities in the stock by identifying trends. It consists of two groups of exponential moving averages (EMAs):

Short-term Group: This includes EMAs with periods of 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, and 15 days. These moving averages are intended to capture the behavior of short-term traders, indicating short-term market sentiment.
Long-term Group: This group comprises EMAs with periods of 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and 60 days, aimed at reflecting the behavior of long-term investors, thus providing insights into the longer-term trend.

The interaction between these two groups of moving averages provides several insights:

Trend Strength: The degree of separation between the short-term and long-term averages can indicate the trend's strength. A wide separation suggests a strong trend, while a narrow separation implies a weakening trend or consolidation phase.

Focus on the solutions and actions you can take.

When you start thinking about solutions, the problem disappears or looks small.

Thinking only about the problems makes you frustrated. Your brain shuts down.

When you think about solutions, your mind stays calm, and creativity begins to kick in. You feel positive, more energetic, and more confident.

The ability to overcome trading problems is crucial for any trader, but it is especially crucial for beginner or struggling traders.

When I started trading, I had no setup, process, situational awareness, or edge. I systematically overcame these problems in the first three years. Every day, I worked on my problems, found three possible solutions, implemented them, and saw which one worked best. If none worked, I created three more solutions, and so on.

Once you adopt that approach, you can quickly find workable solutions to trading problems. One of the common problems I faced in my early years was that many of my trades would make 20% or more profits quickly. I would start thinking this stock had potential and let it run, but I would give up the gains. The solution I found was to take partial profits and then move stock on the rest of the position. For the problem of change in market conditions, I found Market Monitor and Situational Awareness as solutions.

Over the years, this problem-solving approach has helped me continuously improve my trading and gain consistency. It has also helped me develop more powerful setups as an alternative to the Episodic Pivots setup, which has deteriorated over the years due to large first-day gaps.

If your trading is going nowhere and you feel stuck, I recommend using problem-solving as a life philosophy. Over the years, I have helped thousands of traders overcome their trading problems by helping them find workable solutions.

Gaps in 50% plus moves

My 50% study is a daily analysis of stocks that have moved 50% or more in the last 40 days.

This kind of explosive move often has news-based catalysts. Such catalysts can lead to gaps. But if the gaps are more than 20%, the stocks pull back most of the time. Smaller gaps are better.

When you study the 50% move daily, you develop a good understanding of the nature of the 50% move.

One of the issues I have studied is whether to focus on gaps or ignore the big ones.

If you study the 50% plus moves, you will see that very few of them have gaps of 25% plus.

Small gaps are good. Big gaps can usually be ignored as they tend to be one-day moves. Most are in biotech or in buyout speculation stocks.
