മടിയിൽ കിടന്നു കന്നത്തിൽ മുത്തമിട്ടാൽ ചിത്രത്തിലെ 'ദൈവം തന്ന നിധിയെ' പാട്ടു കാണുന്ന മകളോട് മനസ്സ് ചേർത്ത് വെച്ച് വാർദ്ധക്യത്തെ കുറിച്ച് എഴുതാൻ തീരുമാനിക്കുക അൽപ്പം കൗതുകകരമാണ്. അടുത്ത മുറിയിൽ അച്ഛനും അമ്മയും ഉറങ്ങുന്നുണ്ട് . അവരെ ഓർത്തു വാർദ്ധക്യം എഴുതുക അൽപ്പം കടന്ന കയ്യാണ്. ആർക്കാണ് കൂടുതൽ വയസ്സായതു എന്ന മത്സരത്തിൽ എന്നെക്കാൾ മികച്ച ലീഡുമായി മുന്നേറുന്ന അവർ ഈ അക്രമം വായിക്കില്ല എന്ന ഉറപ്പിൽ എഴുത്തു തുടരുകയാകും കൂടുതൽ നന്നാകുക.</div>

പക്ഷെ വാർദ്ധക്യം ചിന്തയിൽ പലപ്പോഴും വിഷയമാകാറുണ്ട്. പല മരണങ്ങളും അറിയുമ്പോൾ അവരുടെ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പങ്കാളികളെ കുറിച്ച് ആലോചിക്കാറുണ്ട്. ഭർത്താവ് ആണ് മരിക്കുക എങ്കിൽ ആ ചിന്ത അത്രമേൽ ബലപ്പെടാറില്ല . പക്ഷെ ഭർത്താവ് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കെ ഭാര്യ മരിച്ചു പോകുന്ന അവസ്ഥ വല്ലാതെ അസ്വസ്ഥപ്പെടുത്താറുണ്ട്. ഒരു പക്ഷെ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നാൽ വയസ്സാകുക എന്ന ഉറപ്പുള്ള ലക്ഷ്യത്തിൽ ഉന്നം വെക്കുന്ന ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ആയതിനാൽ ആകാം ആ അസ്വസ്ഥതയ്ക്ക് ബലം കൂടുതൽ. </div>

"വേറെ ആഗ്രഹമൊന്നുമില്ല, ഞാൻ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ അങ്ങേരു മരിക്കുന്നതാണ് നല്ലത്, അല്ലാതെ അങ്ങേരെ ഇവിടെ വിട്ടിട്ടു ഞാൻ പോകുന്നത് ആലോചിക്കാനേ ആകില്ല" എന്ന് എന്നോട് പറഞ്ഞ അമ്മയോളം പ്രായമുള്ള സ്ത്രീ ആരെന്നു ഇപ്പോൾ കൃത്യമായി ഓർത്തെടുക്കാൻ ആകുന്നില്ല. എങ്കിലും അതിനു ശേഷം ഭാര്യ മരിച്ചു പിന്നെയും കാത്തിരിപ്പു തുടരുന്ന, വാർധക്യത്തിൽ ഉള്ള ഭർത്താവുമാരെ ഞാൻ കൂടുതൽ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുന്നു.</div>

അതിൽ എൻ്റെ വല്യച്ഛൻ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു. വിരമിച്ച പട്ടാളക്കാരൻ കൂടിയായ അദ്ദേഹവും വല്യമ്മയും ജീവിതസായാഹ്നത്തിൽ വിദേശത്തുള്ള മകളുടെ അടുത്ത് കുറച്ചു ദിവസത്തെ സന്ദര്ശനത്തിനു പോയതായിരുന്നു . ഒരു സാധാരണ രാത്രിയിൽ ഉറങ്ങാൻ കിടന്ന അവർക്ക് പിറ്റേന്ന് ഒരുമിച്ചു ഉണരാൻ ആയില്ല. വളരെ അപ്രതീക്ഷിതമായി </div>

ഒറ്റയ്ക്കാകേണ്ടി വന്ന അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പിന്നീട് കാണുമ്പോൾ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന വേദന അസഹ്യമാണ്. തുടക്കത്തിൽ ആ പട്ടാളക്കാരനെ മെരുക്കിയെടുക്കാൻ വല്യമ്മ കുറച്ചു കഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നു ഞാൻ കേൾക്കുന്ന കാലത്തു പക്ഷെ; അവർ വളരെ സൗന്ദര്യമുള്ള ദമ്പതിമാരായിരുന്നു. കുടുംബത്തിലെ വിശേഷ അവസരങ്ങളിൽ അവർ ഒരുമിച്ചു വന്നു മുൻപിലത്തെ കസേരകളിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നതായിരുന്നു എനിക്ക് ഏറ്റവും സുന്ദരമായി തോന്നിയ കാഴ്ച </div>

ഈ സാഹചര്യത്തെ എൻ്റെ ചിന്തയിൽ വിലയിരുത്തുമ്പോൾ തോന്നിയിട്ടുള്ളത് ഒറ്റയ്ക്കാകുന്ന സ്ത്രീകൾക്ക് കുറച്ചു കൂടി ശ്രദ്ധ പിടിച്ചുപറ്റാൻ ആകും എന്നതാണ് . അവർക്ക് അവർ ജീവിക്കുന്ന കുടുംബത്തിൽ ആരോഗ്യമുള്ള കാലത്തേക്ക് എങ്കിലും കേന്ദ്രബിന്ദു ആയിരിക്കാൻ കഴിയും .</div>

യൗവ്വനത്തിൽ വല്ലാതെ ചാർത്തികിട്ടിയ ആണത്തത്തിന്റേയും വീരസ്യത്തിന്റേയും കെട്ടുമാറാപ്പുകളിൽ നിന്നും പുരുഷൻ സാധാരണ രീതിയിൽ ഉള്ള ഒരു ദാമ്പത്യത്തിനൊടുവിൽ ഭാര്യയുടെ നിഴൽവട്ടത്തിലേക്ക് ഒതുങ്ങി പോകുന്നതായി തോന്നുന്നു. ദിനചര്യകൾ ഓരോന്നും ഒരു കൂട്ടില്ലാതെ നടത്താൻ പുരുഷനു കഴിയാതെ വരുന്നു. കൂടാതെ ഒറ്റയ്ക്കാകുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ മക്കളുടേതും, മരുമക്കളുടേതും, ചെറുമക്കളുടേതും ആകുന്ന ഒരു കുടുംബ അന്തരീക്ഷത്തിൽ തൻറെ സാന്നിധ്യം അറിയിപ്പിക്കാൻ ഒരു വൃദ്ധൻ എത്ര മാത്രം കഴിവുള്ളവനാണ് എന്നത് വലിയ സംശയമാണ് .</div>

മേൽപ്പറഞ്ഞ രണ്ടിലും അപവാദങ്ങൾ ഇല്ല എന്നല്ല. </div>

ഈ കൊറോണ കാലത്ത് കേരളം ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു സുഖപ്പെടുത്തിയ 93 വയസ്സായ അപ്പച്ചനെ ചികിത്സിച്ച സമയത്തു ആദ്യം രണ്ടു മുറികളിൽ കിടത്തേണ്ടി വന്നപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം വല്ലാതെ അസ്വസ്ഥനായതും പിന്നീട് ഒരുമിച്ചുള്ള സംവിധാനം ഒരുക്കിയപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം കുറച്ചു കൂടി സഹകരിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങിയതുമായ വാർത്ത കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ഈ ചിന്ത പിന്നെയും കടന്നു വന്നു. </div>

വാർധക്യത്തിലെ ഒറ്റപ്പെടൽ എന്നത് ഇണയെ നഷ്‌ടപ്പെടുന്നവരിലാണ് നമ്മൾ കൂടുതൽ കാണുന്നത്. അത് കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ അത്തരം സാഹചര്യത്തെ മറ്റൊരു മരുന്നു കൊണ്ട് മാറ്റയെടുക്കാം എന്നത് മണ്ടൻ ചിന്തയാണ് .</div>

<p dir="ltr">കേരളത്തിൽ എങ്കിലും തങ്ങളുടെ തോളോട് തോൾ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അതിനും മുകളിൽ നിൽക്കുന്ന വർണം കുറഞ്ഞ ജാതികളോട് ആ സമൂഹത്തിനു കടുത്ത അസഹിഷ്ണുതയാണ്. </p>
<p dir="ltr">കേരളത്തിനു പുറത്തു എന്തു കൊണ്ടു ഇത്രയെങ്കിലും ആകാൻ കഴിയുന്നില്ല എന്നത് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിന്റെ മാത്രം കുറവാണ് എന്ന് സമ്മതിച്ചു തരണം എന്നില്ല. </p>
<p dir="ltr"> ജയിക്കണം എന്നും തോൽക്കണം എന്നും രണ്ടു തീരുമാനങ്ങൾ ഒരാൾക്ക് എടുക്കാൻ ആകില്ല. </p>
