Huda Beauty Liquid Matte (swatches & review)

Hey guys and welcome back to Jemima's World. You must admit I am definitely on a roll with all of these recent reviews and touch wood it continues to be that way, because I love writing these posts just as much as you all like reading them! So today's post is no surprise, because you can probably see by the huge picture and the title, is all about the Huda Beauty Liquid Mattes. Now my love for Huda is not hidden and like any true supporter I am a true huda-holic. I've built up quite the collection, considering this time last year I didn't own any of her products! I have also posted a review on her 3D Highlight Palette a few posts back, so please do check that out if you haven't already. Huda beauty's liquid mattes are all the rave and they were a recent edition to her hugely popular and successful line of eyelashes (which I totally love by the way, but I will leave that to another review). These retail for £18.00 each and are available from many places here in the UK, sadly many of them are online. However I managed to get my hands on two shades on my recent trip to Harrods, where you can actually swatch all of the shades and then buy them. I would highly advise you to swatch them first because the shades are quite different to the colours of the packaging and because it will help you a lot when deciding which shade to get. This is because there are currently 16 shades and counting! Huda is constantly releasing new items to this range, which include the mini mattes, limited edition summer colours and the liquid strobes.

I currently own 2 shades which are Girlfriend and Icon. Girlfriend steers more towards the nude/brown side and Icon is more of a dull bright pink (I think that's the best way to describe it!). There are definitely more nuder and brighter shades in the collection, but these are the shades I thought would compliment by skin tone the best (for your reference I have an olive/yellow undertone skin). Like I mentioned before the shades are quite different to the colour of the packaging and they do dry slightly darker, you can check out the swatches below.

Top- Icon & Bottom- Girlfriend

The packaging is definitely in true Huda style, much like her eyelashes that have huge eyes on them, these have huge lips. The colour of the product is shown by the colour of the lips and on the side of the outer packaging. The front of the packaging is clear, so you can clearly see the size and the look of the actual lipstick. The liquid lipstick itself has the most amazing, sleek feel to it. It just feels really luxurious and heavy to hold. And oh the lid and the glass are both matte, genious!

The pigmentation of this product is honestly breathtaking. A little goes a really long way and you literally only need on swipe on the lip to get the true colour. With that said the actual applicator inside is a good size and the liquid matte is designed in such a way that the perfect amount of product comes out each time, so you are not wasting product. There is a decent amount of product inside (5 ml) so it will last you quite a long time.

The product does eventually dry matte, its not instantaneous but it doesn't take a really long time either. It has a really nice moussey texture when you apply it on the lips and this really helps to make the product feel light-weight and not heavy or tacky.

The lasting power was actually a dissapointment to me, I don't know why but I really thought it would last a lot longer. Don't get me wrong, it did last way longer then my drugstore mattes but it wasn't up there with some other high end mattes. After eating and drinking, I did find the need to re apply it. All in all I think it lasted me for about 7-8 hours, if I didn't eat and drink. It does however last longer when you apply a lip liner underneath.

But it's really easy to re apply, it doesn't bunch up inside your lips (you don't get that funny line inside) and the best thing it doesn't cling to dry patches!

All in all Huda has done a fab job and if you are thinking of treating yourself I would definitely buy this product, the price tag is definitely justified. I guarantee you will definitely find a way to make this product work. My overall rating would be 8/10 i will most likely be buying a few more shades!

Rimmel Magnif'eyes COLOUR Edition (swatches & review)

Hey guys and welcome back to Jemima's World. In todays post I will be reviewing a recent launch of Rimmel London, the Magnif'eyes COLOUR Edition. Rimmel have recently launched the Magnif'eyes collection which includes a few 8 pan eyeshadow palettes and a few 12 pan eyeshadow palettes. The shades range from neutral, to golden, to grunge and to colour. And if you know me well enough by now you should know a love a bit of colour! Not only this, but Rimmel London are a drugstore brand and are personally one of my faves when it comes to mascaras. This was one of the first times I have tried their eyeshadow palettes so if you would like to see what I thought then please keep reading...

There are 3 matte shades in the palette and the rest of the remaining 3 shades are shimmery but all with different finishes/amounts of glitter/shimmer.

The price: The 12 pan eyeshadow palettes retail at £8.99 and the 8 pan palettes retail at £7.99. Personally speaking the 12 pans seem a much better deal to me because you are getting 4 extra shades, but I would understand why you might want to get a smaller sized palette, especially when you are travelling.

The packaging is surprisingly very sleek and compact. It's definitely not how I remember Rimmel palettes to be, in the past they have known to be quite bulky. It's your standard drugstore packaging, with the front being clear and the back black. There is no mirror in the palette and it comes with an applicator with a sponge on one side and surprisingly quite a good size fluffy brush on the other side. The brush is the perfect size for underneath the eye. However I think it is meant to be used for the crease as Rimmel have really emphasised that the palette is to be used for eye contouring, it's written on the front of the packaging and on the back there are drawings to show you exactly where to place each colour. Personally I think the packaging is quite good for a drugstore brand, but I think I would have liked to see more colour, considering the name of the palette is colour.

The formula and application of the eyeshadows is actually pretty impressive, I was quite shocked to see that the bright shades are definitely pigmented. They swatch really nicely and apply really nicely too. Likewise the shimmery shades in the palette are pretty impressive, I love the fact that they have quite big pieces of glitter in them, this means I can apply them on top of other colours to give a nice pop. However the darker shades in the palette are not as good, I found I had to really dig deep into the colours to get a good payout and that was the same when I was applying them to the eyelids.

The lasting power of the shadows are also quite impressive, they last for a pretty long time without primer and even longer with primer. They matte shades do wear off slightly throughout the day, but I do find that happens to me when I wear matte shadows generally.

All in all this is a pretty handy eyeshadow palette, especially if you are looking for a good colour eyeshadow palette. My only complaint is with the pigmentation of the darker shades, but I did really enjoy the colour selection. My overall rating would be 7/10 well done to Rimmel for creating a cute and different palette. It's definitely worth checking Boots or Superdrug for this palette as they always have special offers on, especially if it's 3 for 2!

Huda Beauty 3D Highlight Palette Golden Sands (swatches & review)

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog. Jemima's World is officially back with a bang and Jemima is definitely here to stay (*fingers crossed). I will be posting reviews a lot more frequently because I have been accumulating quite a lot of makeup in my absence, all thanks to my friends and family who have been spoiling me rotten for my birthday and graduation. Speaking of graduation yes your girl finally graduated with LLB Hons and I am so glad and thankful that stressful part of my life is over. Right enough of the life update and let's get back to today's post which is all about the Huda Beauty 3D Highlighter Palette which was gifted to me by my beautiful mum.

Everyone and their nan has heard of Huda Beauty and her hugely successful and popular makeup line. She is definitely an inspiration and a role model to a lot of people including me. I just think she's so humble and genuine, so Huda if you are reading this (which you probably aren't) I love you!

This palette is available at Cult Beauty, Selfridges, Harrods to name a few and retails for £40.00. It currently comes in 2 different shades and one limited edition Summer Palette. So if you guys would like to know what I thought of this palette and if you would like to see some swatches, then please keep reading....

So the first time that I wore this palette was actually on my graduation and trust me when I say this, I am yet to receive so many compliments on my highlighter and I have been through a lot of highlighters! The concept of this palette is quite simple to essentially make your highlighter look 3D and not just a single random line of highlighter on your face.

Golden Sands is particular for medium/deep complexions and it comes with 4 shades: Fiji, Seychelles, Tahiti and Zanzibar. 3 of the shades are pearlescent powders and one of the shades, Fiji, is a more of a cream texture. All of the shades are designed to be applied in a specific order, with the cream going first (Fiji), followed by the powder highlight (Seychelles), then the bronzer shade (Tahiti) and finally the blush shade (Zanzibar). And the palette also has a handy dandy guide just in case you forget the order! The shades all compliment each other beautifully and are designed to perfectly sculpt and glow up any feature you decide to apply them to.

The formula of this product is definitely what impressed me the most. The cream shade is not sticky or tacky and when you apply it to your face it doesn't shift the base product that is underneath. The powder shades have an extremely beautiful velvet feel to them and when you combine all 4 of the shades together they melt into your skin (literally). The formula of all 4 shades make them really easy to build up, so you can layer them without worrying whether it looks cakey or non skin like. They swatch beautifully and you really don't have to dig deep to get the colour pay off, in short a little goes a really long way.

The lasting power definitely justifies the price tag, you can believe me when I say that I've really tested it. Especially on my graduation when I wore this from 6 in the morning to 2 AM the following morning. The shades whether worn on their own or together, last for ages and they don't blow off in the wind. They look exactly the same at the end of the day as how they looked when you first applied them. In short that glow is there to stay until you remove it yourself!

The application is really effortless and simple. Like I mentioned before there is a guide in the palette to explain what each shade is used for and how to use it. I find the cream is best applied with the fingers and the other highlight shade (Seychelles) are best applied with the fingers and the rest of the shades with brushes.

The packaging is everything you would expect from Huda, beautiful and sleek and you get a generous amount of product in the pans for the price. The only thing that would have sealed the deal for me would have been a mirror, but I'm not complaining! I'll be glowing so much with this palette that I won't need a mirror!

All in all Huda has done an amazing job with this palette and if you are thinking of treating yourself I would definitely buy this product, the price tag is definitely justified by the amount of product you get inside. My overall rating would be 10/10 seriously I could not fault this product, she has nailed every part of it!

Barry Lip Kit Review

I'm sitting here typing this and I feel so guilty for neglecting my blog and my social media over the past few months because I know how many of you look forward to reading my posts. Intro over let's get onto the review.

Today I am reviewing the brand new Barry M lipkits which launched a few weeks ago, I actually got my hands on them the day they launched in Superdrug. Well to be honest I ordered 2 shades and went to Superdrug swatched the only shade I didn't have and bought it- I couldn't leave it behind! These are limited edition and include a lip liner and a matte liquid lipstick (a similar idea to the Kylie lipkits which a lot of drugstore brands are releasing now) and retail for £6.99. So if you would like to know what I thought of these then please keep reading...

So I'm not going to lie the reason it took me a few weeks to post this review was because I had a love hate relationship with them. When I initially wore them I loved all the shades and then after a week I hated them and now I've started to love them again! So I just wanted to make sure I was in a right position to review them for you guys.

These lipkits come in 3 shades: Runway, Pose, and my personal favourite Go to Nude

My first impressions were the packaging of the lip liner, in particular, looks very similar to Kylie Cosmetics. I also was quite shocked that the shades don't look the same as the colour of the box, in particular Runway and Pose. I loved the size of the product and the box means it's very compact and neat because the products don't move around inside (a problem that I usually face with my Kylie lip kit).

The packaging itself consists of some instructions on the back as well as the shade name on the top of the box and the colour of the box is similar to the shade inside.

The lasting power of these lip kits is quite incredible. When I initially swatched these on my wrist it took me at least 3 makeup wipes to get them off my wrist and there was still bits of my product left on my wrist! Surprisingly they are a lot easier to remove from your lips! They last for an awfully long time on the lips especially if you put the lipliner underneath and then apply the liquid lipstick on top. However this is only up until the point you eat and drink, I found on numerous occasions, they started to crumble off after I had ate and drank, I tested the lasting power with the lipliner, without it and just the lipliner on its own. The lipliner lasts a lot longer in comparison! All in all I think I probably get about 4-5 hours wear if I don't eat or drink for that long!

The application itself is quite easy and the liquid lipstick has a really moussey texture. The lip liner is probably my favourite part of application, it reminds me a lot of MAC lipliners. And you can quite easily top your lips up during the day without the product feeling too heavy.

I did however find that after a few hours these feel extremely dry on the lips, even when I applied a balm underneath. They feel a lot better when you apply a balm on top but that obviously defeats the purpose of matte lips!

They also take at least 2 minutes to completely dry after you have applied them and I was quite shocked to see, when I first swatched them, that the colour dries a lot different to the initial swatch. As you can see by the pictures below. But I'm not complaining I prefer the colour of them after they dry.

Out of all 3 shades my favourite is definitely the shade go to nude. I don't think I dislike any of these shades and I find that I reach to shades like this quite often. All in all Barry M have done a fab job in creating such a nice shade range, as well as creating these affordable lip kits and almost nailing the formula. LA Girl vs MUA loose powder review...

Loose powder is all the craze at the moment, whether you're using it to bake your under eyes or using it to mattify your lips its everywhere and whether you love it or hate it, this is definitely a craze that's here to stay.....

It's only natural that all brands whether drugstore or high end jumped aboard the craze and release their own versions of loose powder. 2 such brands are MUA and LA Girl, I was extremely excited to see both these brands come out with loose powders because it meant that I could finally own a more affordable loose powder which was easily available. I personally use loose powder a lot in my makeup routine I just find that it makes my skin looked more airbrushed and not cakey in specific areas such as my under eyes. I also use it occasionally to make my lipsticks matte and last a lot longer, all I do is dab a pea sized amount on the centre of my lips. And when I want a really glam look to last all day I use it to bake my face, I personally like a translucent powder rather than a coloured one to do this, all I do is take quite a bit of powder on a sponge and place it in the areas where my makeup is likely to slip and slide. I then let it sit for a while and brush it away and hey presto your face is baked! Because baking requires quite a bit of powder and loose powder is so universal it's always a plus point when you find a powder thats good but also cheap. So what did I think of the drugstore's take on loose powders?

YAYS

1.The price

Obviously this was definitely one of the plus points. The MUA loose powder retails at £3.00 and the LA Girl Pro Powder retails at £5.00. You definitely get a lot of powder for the price and compared to the likes of similar high end powders (Laura Mercier retails at £29.00) you are definitely saving a lot of money.

2. The LA Girl Pro Powder

I really liked the consistency of the LA Girl Powder its extremely finely milled and is really comparable to high end ones. It applies really effortlessly, blends really well into the skin and is a colourless/translucent powder which means it can be used universally without changing the colour of the makeup underneath. This powder lasts really long on the skin and works perfectly in the areas where makeup is always slipping and sliding especially on my oily skin. It also photographs really well!

3.The Packaging

Both of these products are packaged really nicely, I do prefer the colours of the LA Girl one, however they are both compact which makes them perfect to store and travel with. I like the fact that they are both made out of a strong, durable plastic and both have plastic in between that has holes in it so you can really control the amount of product that comes out and minimise fall out.

NAYS

1. The MUA loose powder

I honestly did not like this product at all. I was firstly dissapointed that although the shade is translucent the powder is actually coloured which means that you can't use it as universally as the LA Girl one. The consistency of this product is quite lumpy and the powder is not finely milled, this means that I often have lumps of product on my face if I don't break the pieces of powder beforehand. I found that it creased under my eyes and didn't help to brighten them, it did work ok in other areas on my face but again it didn't last as long as the LA girl one. When I used this on my lips it really stinged and completely changed the colour of my lipstick.

The rating 10/10 for the LA Girl Pro Powder this honestly works like a dream and I am so shocked to have found such a good powder at the drugstore! I would highly recommend this.

The rating 3/10 for the MUA loose powder I found that this applied really patchy and was definitely not translucent at all. It didn't work well on my under eyes and didn't last long in other areas of my face.

LA Girl Pro Conceal Review...

So I'm sure everyone's heard about the colour correcting trend that is dominating social media at the moment. They have either jumped on board the bandwagon or have been taken back by all the vibrant colours that they would never think of putting on their face. I for certain have been loving colour correcting and it has really changed my makeup game.....

For all of you who don't know what colour correcting is don't worry! Colour correcting is a technique that is relatively new on social media but has been used by makeup artists and celebrities for quite some time. In order to colour correct you just have to look at the colour wheel, first look at the colour that you are trying to correct and then look at the colour on the wheel that is directly opposite that. Red/orange/peach is to neutralize darkness, greens are too neutralize redness, yellows are to highlight and lavender is to brighten up any dull areas on the face.

LA Girl is a brand that was quite new to me just like colour correcting, it is an extremely affordable brand that unfortunately is not easily available in the UK. I managed to find mine from Cocktail Cosmetics and they are now also sold on Beauty Bay. I got the colour correcting shades as well as the shade toast to use as a contour. It is a brand that has been raved about in the beauty world particularly because of its concealers, so what did I think about these concealers?

YAYS

1. The Formula

These concealers unlike other drugstore concealers are extremely high/full coverage. They have the ability to cover up without having to use much product at all. I've been using these concealers for months now and I don't even think I've reached half way. Even though they're quite thick I find them extremely easy to blend out especially when I use them for contour.

2. The packaging

I love the fact that they are in squeezy tubes. It not only makes them really hygienic but it also means you can control the amount of product that comes out because the tubes have this brush at the top. The product when squeezed gets deposited in the brush which makes it really easy to use and control the product. The size of the tube is quite small which makes it perfect for travelling and storing.

3.The price

These retail at £5.00 which means they are a lot cheaper then many drugstore brands and like I mentioned before a little product goes a really long way so it really does mean that you are getting your moneys worth.

4. The lasting power

These concealers last a heck of a lot of time. They don't crease(if set with powder) or slip and slide on your face. I've used these for special occasions which last for well over 7 hours and they looked just as fresh as they did when I applied them at the beginning of the day. They also photograph really well!

NAYS

1.The Formula

These are extremely thick and high coverage and although they blend really well, the thickness of the formula means the dry really fast. This means that you have to act really fast when you apply these and have to really quickly set them with powder if you want them to last long. I find that its necessary to set these with powder otherwise they do crease. I also found that the thickness varies depending on the shade, the contour shade for me was not thick at all.

2. The colour payoff

The colours of the correcting shades are really intense. The orange and green shades are quite bright which means that they don't really blend into the skin seamlessly, you need a really high coverage concealer on top of them if you really want to mask the colours.

The rating 9/10

I really liked the packaging and formula of these products. Although the colour correcting shades are really pigmented they are quite easy to work with and if you use the a high coverage concealer on top they really do their job. I love the fact that you are getting such a heavy coverage with a concealer that only costs £5.00!

Trish McEvoy Review...

I'm always on the hunt for new cosmetic brands that are amazing quality and make my makeup look just as amazing and flawless. Trish McEvoy was a brand that was not that well known to me and I'm sure isn't as known to many of you. It is sold in exclusive stores in the UK and revolves around the principle that is the foundation of her business: makeup has power, inside and out. I was pretty excited to try her products out...

Trish McEvoy is the President and Founder of Trish McEvoy Beauty. A renowned makeup artist known for teaching the Power of Makeup, Trish founded her company in the mid-seventies when the only readily available makeup tools were the sponge applicators that came free with compacts. Trish’s commitment to products and techniques that address women’s concerns has inspired a diverse following and turned her company into one of the industry’s most successful independent cosmetic brands. Pretty inspiring right?

The team were so nice to send 3 full size products out to me so I could try them for you guys.

YAYS

1. The packaging

Beautiful, simply beautiful. I was blown away by the quality of the packaging of all 3 products, the outer packaging has a very elegant them of white and black and the inner packaging for all 3 products was very luxurious feeling. I particularly loved the metal packaging of the mascara, I just know that my mascara is going to stay fresh for long and not dry out.

2. The formulation

The mascara- it does what it says on the tin, it curls my lashes and for me personally compares to the likes of the benefit they're real mascara. The wand is small and straight which means it gets into all of my lashes effortlessly. The best thing about the formula of the mascara is that it is waterproof and it doesn't clump like most waterproof mascaras.

The eyebase- I love the way this glides onto my eyelids and doesn't crease, I sometimes set it with powder but I honestly don't need to it works just as well when I don't.

The eyelift- the consistency is not too thick which I like, It means that my undereyes don't crease as easily and it doesn't make them look cakey. I love the fact that a little goes a long way!

3. The longevity

All 3 of these products last for the most longest of time. The mascara especially! The eyebase really helps my eyeshadows last really long at least 7-8 hours!

NAYS

1. The shade of the eyelift

I find that I can't use this as a highlight shade on my skintone (asian) because it just looks too white. There's only one shade which means unfortunately I can't really use it for its purpose which is an under-eye brightener that diminishes the look of fine lines while awakening the eye for an instant all-day lift. It works well as a colour corrector for my skintone because its quite peachy in colour.

2. The price

These products are definitely a splurge so I would recommend you all to try out these products before committing into buying them. The eyelift is priced at £31.00, the mascara is priced at around £22-25, and the eyebase is priced at £21.00.

3.The age range

The majority of the range is specifically aimed at older women and not for people in their 20s like me as they try to tackle issues that would be more common in older women.

The rating- 8/10

I really loved the packaging and the overall feel to all of these products. They feel very luxurious and last for a really long time. I probably would purchase the eyebase again because I found that to be the best out of the 3.

Faryal Makhdoom Lipsticks Review...

Admittedly I have a slight lipstick addiction and no matter how hard I try to stop it I find that there is always something new on the market that I have wanted a)for the fact that it is a reliable brand which has come out with new shades or b) it has been made by a celebrity which makes me want it even more, I mean who doesn't want to look like their favourite celebrity! So this brand was no exception, I just knew I had to get my hands on some, so for all of you wondering whether these lipsticks live up to their name then please keep reading....

Faryal Makhdoom is best known for being the wife of the famous boxer Amir Khan. With her being such a known personality makeup was pretty much part of the package and trust me when I say this she probably has one of the strongest makeup games! So when she decided to launch her own makeup brand it was obviously normal for all of her fans to go crazy and want to buy her makeup to get that classic Faryal Makhdoom look. With me being no exception, I've been wanting to get my hands on these lipsticks forever and when I won them through an instagram competition because of which Faryal and her team sent out them out to me I was definitely over the moon! And I knew that like me a lot of you have been itching to know how these lipsticks are....

(PS from now on I'm going to be reviewing products by weighing up the yays and nays and then rating the product out of 10. I find that this way the reviews will be kept concise and you all will be able to easily make your decision with regards to what products you would like to buy)

YAYS

1. The colours

The colours in the range are amazing and there's something for everyone. Faryal normally supports a nude lip and true to her name she definitely has a nude for everyone as well as some deeper shades. The colours that I was given are rose nude and bossy chic, rose nude is a beautiful nude shade which a pink undertone very comparable to MAC Angel whereas bossy chic is a beautiful deep red shade which again has very pink undertones. The colours look exactly like they look in the bullet on the lips and are extremely pigmented.

2. The finish

True to what it says on the packaging these lipsticks are matte, extremely matte. They glide on quite easily and literally look like a liquid lipstick on the lips. I find that these lipsticks are a lot more matte then your average drugstore lipstick or even MAC for that matter.

3. The lasting power

They last for around 3 hours on the lip and I think this is due to them being so matte. They don't transfer when you eat or drink and I find that you don't have to touch them up when you apply them.

NAYS

1. The packaging

I absolutely love the outer packaging, the box that the lipstick comes in. I love the elegant feel of the black with the gold logo engraved into it. However I can't say the same for the actual lipstick bullet. The bullet itself is quite light because its made out of plastic and it has the logo painted onto it. The colour of the bullet is silver and black and the logo is silver and it scratches off.

2. The lasting power

Like I said before these lipsticks last for around 3 hours and look amazing. However after this they do start to crack because of the fact that they are so matte, you definitely need to add a lip balm on top.

3. The price

I do feel that these lipsticks are a bit pricey, they retail at £12.95 each which means they are double the price to a drugstore lipstick.

The Rating: 7/10

I do really like the range of colours and the finish of these lipsticks they really are matte and I haven't used a lipstick this matte before. I would personally probably order another shade just because I like the colours soo much, its definitely worth a bit of a splurge!

Tuesday in Love Water Permeable Nail Polish Review...

Hi Jemples and welcome back to another post! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying life and for all of us who are cooped up revising for exams and trying to meet deadlines trust me I feel your pain but don't worry all will be over soon! Enough rambling and back to todays very exciting post. So I was very lucky to receive some of tuesday in loves water permeable nail polishes from the lovely @halal01 on instagram. I have been after these for the longest of time and I was very happy when I finally got them and the best thing is that I didn't have to to pay the immense shipping cost PHEW! So Tuesday In Love is a makeup brand based in USA who offer a wide range of water permeable makeup. This basically means that you can wear this makeup whilst applying water to your face, hands or lips and the water will go through the product and onto your skin. This is definitely a very exciting concept for all of us who have to perform ablution in order to pray our compulsory 5 a day prayers, it means that we don't have to constantly remove our makeup to perform ablution. I was very excited to receive 3 very pretty shades from @halal_01 on Instagram and let's just say I have been wearing these nail polishes non-stop since then!

So what did I think about these products?

I was very impressed with the way that these applied, I personally didn't think that they would apply really opaquely because they are water permeable. However these apply just like a normal nail polish and dry very glossy. They also don't have that typical nail polish smell which is perfect for people like me who don't wear nail polish as regularly because of the smell. The best thing about this product is that you don't need a nail polish remover to remove them, they literally just peel off and I kid you not it's probably one of the most satisfying things to do. You know as a kid when you used to apply a load of pva glue to your hand and let it dry just so you could peel off, it's just like that! You can also really feel that the water is actually going through because the nail turns to a near enough matte finish if it's kept under running water and the when you move it away from the water it turns back to it's normal glossy finish.

However I didn't like how long they lasted on the nail, I found that they are easily prone to scratching and if one section of the nail is scratched the rest of the nail polish literally just peels off. I find that they at minimum lasted 1 day on me because I tend to phaff my hands around everywhere! If you are wearing these to a big event you would definitely need to carry the bottle with you just in case. They also take quite a long time to dry I wouldn't say that it's an immense amount of time but they do take a minute or so longer to dry then a normal non-permeable polish.

Overall I really liked the fact that they a) have no smell, b)easily removable without the need of a nail polish remover c)they are water permeable.

Simple Candle Co. Review

Hello Jemples I hope you are all doing well on this very cold British evening. Snow in spring who would've thought of it! So whilst I sit here writing this review for you all today I am surrounded by the most amazing aroma, if only you guys could smell what I can currently smell. In my room to the right I've got an electric wax melt burner switched on and in it is the most amazing smelling wax melt I have ever smelt. Simple Candle Co. is a company that I was instantly drawn to because like a lot of other companies I have had the fortune of reviewing, this company originally started out at their home. I don't know about you guys but I am a sucker for any home-grown companies because I feel like the experience they offer is full of love and really good products. What makes simple candle co different to standard candles and wax melts is that they are made from 100% soy wax which 'mixes better with fragrance oils and results in a less artificial scent .' Not only this but all of the products are handmade in Britain from the pouring to the fragrances everything is done by hand and they ensure that all of their products have a maximum fragrance ratio which means you are not losing out on even 1% of fragrance! Pretty cool right?

So what did I think of these wax melts? These wax melts are amazing I seriously have not come across any wax melt which comes close to this. The difference between Simple Candle wax melts and other well known brands is the variety of fragrances, each of these fragrances smell divine and provide a different atmosphere whilst they are burning. So if you are looking for a relaxing scent or an uplifting one I guarantee you will find one here. Not only this the way these melts are packaged are so cute, I love the fact that the melts are pure white and the packaging too and if you opt to buy a monthly subscription box for just £10 (8 melts) they come in a very convenient slim cardboard box which makes it very easy for them to fit through your letter box.

These melts burn for the longest of time, I've literally had the same one burning for around 2 months and the fragrance is just the same as when I burnt it the first time! You can also get a lot of use out of these by either cutting them in half or quarters if you want a more subtle smell or if you feel like mixing them up and also use them in either an electric wax burner or an oil warmer (I personally use an electric one). My personal favourites out of the 8 would have to be Melon & Cucumber, Patchouli & Cardamom and Beach Dreams!

My Skincare Routine

Hi Jemples and welcome to today's blog post which is all about my current skincare routine. I have been requested to do this post for the longest of time and I am so sorry that I've just about got around to it now. Better late than never right! So just a quick heads before I go into my routine, I have combination skin, by that I mean that I am quite oily around my t-zone(cheeks, nose and chin) and dry around my nose and forehead. I have also tried these products before using them and I highly suggest that you all patch test any product before you commit into using them. Most importantly I am not claiming that these products work miracles, they have helped me extremely in controlling my oily areas as well as evening out my skin tone and making my skin less prone to blemishes. This doesn't mean that all of these products will most definitely work on you! So if you would like to see what my current skincare routine in then please keep reading...

So I am first going to start with what I use to remove my makeup, to do this I have been using two products. I firstly start off with the Garnier soothing 2 in 1 makeup remover, seriously I am yet to find a product that comes even close to this. It is extremely sensitive on the skin and it doesn't require much effort to remove mascara or waterproof makeup. I use this on a cotton pad and clean off all the makeup off my face, what I love about this is as well as containing a makeup remover it also contains a toner so it really helps to cut down the amount of products I have to use. I then go in with a clean cotton pad and the Garnier Micellar cleansing water this one is specifically designed for combination and sensitive skin. This helps to remove any makeup that may still be on my face that I haven't notice and it also helps to really cool and mattify my face.

After removing my makeup I move on to the Johnsons refreshing gel wash for normal skin. I first wash my face and then apply a generous amount of gel wash over my face. This really helps to cleanse the skin and it gets deep into the pores. I then clean my face with a clean towel and move onto the gentle exfoliator. This contains the most softest and small particles so it is perfect to use everyday. I concentrate this mostly on the areas where I have dry patches so around my nose and my forehead and again clean with a towel. When I first picked up these products I was really skeptical about whether they would actually work, but seeing as I still use Johnsons moisturiser I thought they would work perfectly for my skin and I was not wrong! These together are a match made in heaven and if you have not yet tried them and you have quite sensitive skin I highly recommend these!

That concludes my night time routine and now onto how I prep my skin in the mornings. Some days I will use the micellar water in the morning just to freshen up my face and some days I use the gel wash. But every morning without fail I exfoliate my face using any of these two products. I have raved about the St Ives scrubs on my blog before but this blemish fighting one beats the rest. It really helps to deep clean my pores and get rid of any blackheads and oil on my skin. It has a fresh apricot scent which is perfect for the morning! And the Nellie Tier face polish well what can I say I have also talked about this in depth in my last post and this again is the perfect exfoliator. If you find that you're getting a lot of dry patches or breaking out a lot more then be sure to include an exfoliator in your skincare routine it makes the world of a difference and really helps to smooth out your face in the mornings so it is fully prepped for makeup.

Now onto more high end products that I incorporate into my routine at least once a week. The clinique take the day off makeup remover is perfect for removing any stubborn makeup that you might have. Its quite oily so it really helps to make the process quite smooth and not too harsh on the skin. I love using this if I have a really good yet hard to remove mascara. Another clinique product that I like to use once a week is this foaming scrub. this again is really soft on the skin. What I love about this is that it lathers up on the skin and I don't know about you but I feel like a product really works when I can actually see it doing something. This really helps to minimise oil and smooths out my skin.

And finally onto more luxurious pamper products. I'm not going to lie and say I use these every week, I try to use these at least once a month and if not every two weeks especially for clay or peel off masks as I feel like they can easily dry out the skin if you use them too frequently, they're also quite high maintenance but make your skin feel divine! The product that I do try to use weekly is the Nellie Tier hydrating mask, what I love about this is that it requires very little effort to both put on and take off because it's very thin in consistency and clear in colour. You literally keep this on the skin for around 10 minutes and then wash it off you don't have to wait until it dries unlike the clay mask. It instantly makes your skin feel so hydrating and radiant. If you find that your skin is looking really dull then try to incorporate a face mask at least once a week it makes the world of a difference!

But putting that all aside I'm back today with a review on a handful of Nellie Tier goodies that I received a couple of weeks ago. The amazing girls over at Nellie Tier were really kind to send me over some goodies to review for you all and I couldn't have been any more excited!

So who are Nellie Tier? Nellie Tier are a New Zealand based hand blended range of face, body and bath products. The really cool thing about this brand is that the original creams were created for their own use and due to the amazing response they received these products were later created for all of us to use. Cool right? Well there's more this brand is a family business and was created in the early 1900's by two grandmothers who passed on their recipes to the women in the other generations. Daughters, nieces, granddaughters, aunties you name it this business was made and is still run by these amazing intelligent women! And there's even more all of these products are paraben, sodium, laurel sulphate, mineral oils, artificial perfumes, colour additives and animal free. In short these products are 100% natural, full of raw materials and are made in small batches to preserve maximum freshness. Not forgetting they SHIP TO THE UK!! ** Quick note before I start even though all these products were sent to me all of my views are honest and true.

So I was sent 4 full size products from Nellie Tier about 2 weeks ago and I've been trying and testing them for you since then. All of these products have now become a staple part of my skincare routine and I absolutely love the feel and the packaging of these products, they come in little glass jars. How cute!

Nellie Tier Face Cream

Nellie Tier face cream is a product that is an amazing blend of oils, vitamins & vegetable extracts formulated to soothe nourish and hydrate. It is suitable to use for all skin types and is designed to be used daily. I absolutely love the texture of this product and the way it makes my skin feel straight after applying, to be honest I wasn't quite fond of the frankincense & rose scent at the start but its really started to grow on me. It has quickly become staple part of my skincare routine amazing!

2. Nellie Tier Face Polish

Nellie Tier face polish contains jojoba wax beads and bamboo granules in a coconut cream soap and like the face cream it contains Frankincense but with neroli. To keep it quite simply this is an exfoliator designed to apply to damp skin,lather and to be used several times weekly. This is definitely my favourite out of all the 4 products because I love the natural feel to this product. I have owned a lot of exfoliators in the past but nothing does the job as good as this one. I think its mainly down to the fact that instead of micro beads it contains wax beads which makes this very easy and soft to use on the skin. I use this product about twice a week and use the smallest amount, it gets rid of all my dry skin patches and evens out my skintone by removing any dead skin and impurities. Love, love love!

3. Nellie Tier Hydrating Mask

Nellie Tier hydrating mask is a soothing mask formulated to hydrate, soften and tone skin. It contains anar & palmarosa and is designed to be applied in a thick layer after cleansing and remove after 10-15 minutes. It can be used daily. I particularly love the scent of this product and the way it applies. I tend to use this about 2 times a week after using the face polish and this combination is literally a match made in heaven! I seriously have not used a face mask till date that even comes close to this product, everything this product claims it does it really does do!

4. Nellie Tier Eye Cream

Nellie Tier eye cream is designed to nourish & hydrate the delicate skin around the eyes. It contains roman chamomile & carrot seed, yes carrot seed and what better for your eyes then some carrots. I personally did not use any eye creams around my eyes before this because I didn’t think I really needed to. Because of long hours studying, on the computer and not forgetting late nights by eyes were really starting to feel the strain of student life. But after using this eye cream my eyes have not only felt more hydrated and awake but my dark circles have also visibly reduced! A little really does go a long way and once you start using this believe me you’ll be using it again and again!

todays post is the final one in this mini series, so it would only be fit if this one was the biggest! Seriously this post took me the longest because I couldn't pick my favourites and i'm sure you can see by the amount of lipsticks I wasn't all that entirely successful! *embarrassed face* Well anyways I'm sure you all know by now that I am quite the makeup addict so if you would like to see what my lipstick favourites were then please keep on reading...

So 2015 was definitely the year of nudes for me, I found myself reaching for those nude, peachy shades and found that when I wanted a bit more of a bold lip brown was definitely the answer. So without wasting anymore time let's get into products (left to right)...

Loreal lipstick (OUD obsession)- this lipstick is honestly one of the most prettiest brown shades I have every seen. Although I don't wear these kinds of shades everyday and to be honest I didn't really think I would reach for such a shade, I am seriously in love. The colour payoff is exactly how it looks like in the bullet, its long lasting and glides on so easily.
MUA luxe velvet lip lacquer (tranquil)- so this is technically a liquid lipstick and like many other trends 2015 was definitely the year of the liquid lipsticks. I really love the colour and feel of this lipstick its very matte but not that drying, its also really easy to apply and lasts all day long. I'm quite glad I picked this up and for such a cheap price!
Rimmel Kate moss lipstick (number 45)- this lipstick is from the nude kate moss collection and like all other kate moss lipsticks its amazing! I love the colour of this its like a purple nude almost very unique but very flattering.
Maybelline colorsensational (petal pink)- this technically isn't a nude but I've been really loving this shade to layer on top of or underneath any lipstick to give that really nice pink tone. Its also amazing to wear on its own. If you haven't tried these lipsticks yet you really need too they seriously are the most pigmented drugstore lipsticks ever! I've also done an in depth post on these lipsticks so check that out.
Ted Baker lipstick- now onto more high end products, this lipstick is divine and came in my brilliance of beauty giftset which I've also done a post about. Its the most perfect, complimentary peachy nude shade ever!
MAC Hue- I seriously have not found another nude that even comes close to this and you can tell by the picture just how much I've used this. Its your classic nude but it doesn't leave you feeling like you've got foundation on your lips, its really pretty honestly go check it out.
MAC velvet teddy- this lipstick was definitely the most talked about mac lipstick in 2015, and everyone everywhere, including me, was trying to get hold of it! When I finally managed to get hold of it, I was and still am in love. Its a very pretty nude brown shade again complimentary on every skin tone and the added bonus its Matte!

Todays post is all about those brows! Yes 2015 was definitely a year of brows and people all around the world, including myself, went on the hunt for those all important brow products that would instantly give us fuller thicker brows. Brows, brows, brows everyone everywhere in 2015 was talking about brows. Now I've gotta admit this trend sucked me in oh so quickly, in fact I remember I without thinking jumped on the bandwagon and as a result I've got one heck of a funny brow story! Too thick brows, too thin brows, drawn up sharpie brows, a drawn on unibrow you name it I've gone through it all!

And its because of this , at times scarring experience, I've stumbled across a lot of brow products throughout the year and I've managed to narrow them down for you. All these products are from the drugstore because if you fill in your brows everyday like me, you most probably are not looking to put on £100 brows just to wipe off at the end of the day!

Rimmel Brow this way- now this product is a tinted brow gel and although I was rather hesitant at first to add this to my brow routine I'm so glad I did. This product is so easy to use and perfect for adding a nice colour to your brows, I find with this product I very rarely get it wrong. My brows stay in place, look natural and most importantly it saves me masses of time!
Rimmel Eyebrow pencil- this is the perfect accompaniment to the brow gel, seriously these two products combined together are a match made in heaven! I reach for this combo everyday and its because of these two products I know feel a lot more comfortable with my brows. This pencil is really easy to use, has good pigmentation, is long lasting and most importantly is so easy to blend. In love!
The BodyShop brow pencil- so this was a pretty recent addition to my brow routine and although it was given to me as a gift I most definitely would purchase this again. This is a lot softer then the rimmel pencil but it works wonders. It really manages to get in between all the brow hairs and has amazing pigmentation. I love to add this to give a bit of dimension to my brows and to lighten up any dark areas.

These 3 products combined literally make my brows come to life! Amazing!

Makeup Revolution Iconic 2 palette- now if you haven't heard about this brand in 2015 then you are seriously missing out! I have mentioned this brand time and time again during the year 2015 and I have seriously been in love with this brand all throughout this year. This palette is a serious dupe for the naked 2 palette and if I am completely honest this lives up to its expectations immensely. Why I love this palette so much is because it has a wide range of neutral shades that can be used to create a natural look or a smokey look, it also consists of matte shades and neutral shades. This palette has such a good colour pay off and the colours apply so effortlessly and best of all it costs under £5!
Barry M dazzle dust (silver)- I have also done a blog post on the whole range of these in the past so defo check that out! But out of all the shades in 2015 I have been really loving this silver shade. 2015 was a year of loose glitter eyeshadows and to be honest these eyeshadows can be really expensive to buy and drugstore eyeshadows don't ever seem to have the same quality. However I feel like these barry M shadows are definitely an exception. I loved this silver shade so much during 2015 because its really versatile, I found it looked amazing on its own or mixed up with other shades. Definitely a staple to have in anyones makeup collection!
Ted Baker eyeshadow trio- I have also done an in depth review on this in the past in my ted baker gift post. But just to keep it really simple this eyeshadow trio has the most amazing, good quality and finely milled eyeshadows ever! It really has a luxurious feel to it, the colours apply amazingly and last just as long. I love these goldy, bronzey shades and I definitely took a turn for these shades in 2015.

2015 has been a year of foundations of me, I've definitely tried a lot of foundations some good and some not so good. If you'd like to see why I love these 2 foundations then please keep reading...

Maybelline superstay better skin foundation- this foundation matches my skin like no other foundation out there. It gives the most healthy complexion and glow and does not look cakey at all. I find this foundation lasts for a long time and even longer with a setting spray and doesn't oxidise like a lot of drugstore foundations. By this I mean it doesn't go a completely different colour by the end of the day and if you're finding that this is the problem with your current foundation then I think its time you look for a different one. I've been through a couple of these foundations and although I don't wear this everyday its definitely one of those that I reach for time and time again!
Maybelline dream flawless nude- I've done a post about this foundation not so long ago so for an in depth review check that post out. But I'm just going to say that this foundation is definitely unique and I think its because of this I love it so much!

Highlighters

MUA undress your skin highlighter- this highlighter has been my go to staple highlighter for everyday! Seriously if you are yet to add a highlighter to your everyday makeup routine then I would most definitely recommend this. It has a gorgeous rosy pink undertone which means it compliments any skintone and gives you the most healthy glow without looking like you have a highlighter on. And for only £3 you cannot go wrong! I love everything about this product the colour, pigmentation, lasting power and not forgetting its compact size.
Stila all over luminizer- so this is definitely a lot more pricey and its a liquid highlight not a powder one which means its a bit more tricky to apply. However I've tried a lot of liquid highlighters and I've gotta say this is definitely one of the best. When you wear this your cheekbones will be glistening like the sun, that's how pigmented this is! It also lasts for a really long time on the skin and a little goes a really long way.

Blushers

Sleek pink lemonade blush palette- So I've cheated a bit by passing this off as 1 blusher but in reality these are all completely different shades. Again sleek is one of those brands that is talked about a lot in the world of blogging, namely because of the amazing quality and the cheap price point. And like the rest of the sleek range this doesn't fail to deliver. It comes with 2 very complimentary shimmery pink blushers as well as a cream blush. I love wearing pink blush shades and I love mixing up my routine by alternating between cream and powder blushers which is why this product is definitely a fave of mine!

Bronzers

Rimmel natural bronzer- this thing is amazing I literally have no words. I am yet to come across a Bronzer like this and i'm sure you can tell how much I love this by the picture I've nearly hit pan! I feel like this bronzer does exactly what is says on the tin its so natural and effortless. If you're quite new on the bronzer game I would highly recommend this because you seriously can't go overboard with this product, it'll save you from looking like a bright orange oompa loompa!

And finally may favourite blusher and highlighter palette would have to be this H&M one I was quite surprised that they did makeup and that too of such good quality. Next time you're in H&M keep an eye out for this, its definitely a keeper!

So I have to admit I was definitely late on the bandwagon with this product, I honestly never thought I'd need a concealer for everyday purposes in my life. However that's when reality started to kick in, a student without under eye circles is definitely unheard of and unfortunately that combined with late nights, caffeine and doing notes on the computer for hours on end led to dark circles.

So when I embraced the reality I went on the hunt for a decent concealer that would not just cover up my dark circles but neutralise them too and that's when I bumped into this concealer. Now me being me instead of trying it first I bought 2 because they were so hard to find! Although I didn't really like this product at the start I most definitely have started to love it more and more. It neutralises, covers and lasts all day without creasing (with some setting powder).

I feel this concealer does a fab job which is why it's definitely my holy grail product for 2015, if you haven't tried it yet then just go and try it you'll thank me later.

Over 2015 I have definitely tried a lot and I mean a LOT of mascaras and with a heavy burden in my heart I managed to narrow down my favourite mascaras to 3, I've also tried to cater to both drugstore and high end lovers. Rimmel wake me up mascara- now this mascara turned out to be a complete surprise, to be honest when I bought this I didn't think I would love this as much as I do. In fact I picked this up my complete accident as I was meant to pick up the argon oil version instead, but like the say the best things in life come about my accident. I literally cannot imagine life without this the formulation, the cucumber scent, the soothing sensation it gives is beyond belief and I am yet to come across another mascara that is in the same league.
Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara- again this is one of those mascaras that has been hypes up a lot in the world of blogging and youtube. Honestly speaking I wasn't that fond of it when I first bought it but after using it for a few times I can say I love it! This mascara combined with the rimmel wake me up mascara is my favourite combo which I use everyday and if you are looking for really good drugstore mascaras I highly recommend both of these.
Benefit they're real- To be honest I don't think I need to say much about this mascara because like me I can guarantee that a lot of you have also been loving this! It volumizes and lengthens your lashes and makes them look soo unbelievably beautiful almost like you're wearing falsies! So it was no surprise that this had to make it into my top 3.

Hellooo Jemples and welcome back to the blog, so in today's post I am restarting my christmas gift guide!! Yayyy! As many of you know christmas is literally around the corner and I know for a fact that I lot of you are often stuck on what to buy for certain people in your life so that's why I'm here to help. Most of these gifts will be revolve around the world of beauty, however I will try occasionally to add a few randoms in there. There will be some luxurious gifts and some very affordable ones too! So I hope you like this gift series and I will definitely try to upload a gift at least once a week! So without further ado let's move on to gift 1 which is the Ted Baker Brilliance of Beauty Gift set if you want to know what's inside then please keep reading...

So this gift set I purchased a few weeks back from Boots, it originally retails at £45.00 but I actually got it on a special offer for half price and I also had a coupon giving me 25% off so I got this beautiful gift set for £17.00! I know I can't believe it either! To my knowledge I think this gift set is exclusive to Boots and is on half price for a limited time only (until mid November). So what's inside this beauty??

Well when you first open the box up you're presented with two very handy drawers, these drawers are a decent size and can definitely be re-used, I personally store all my single eyeshadows in them and you are also presented with a mirror on the top flap. Which again is quite a decent size, however I do wish it was slightly bigger. The packaging itself is beautiful and I think is a beautiful addition to anyone's room or vanity.

Inside you get:

1 lipgloss (fuschia/dark pink shade)
1 lipstick (a beautiful nude I seriously have not come across this shade before its gorgeous)
1 Lip and cheek tint (neutral pink shade definitely not as bright as the lipgloss)
1 full size kabuki brush
1 Blusher & Highlighter palette (words cannot express how beautiful this is and the packaging is beyond belief, rose gold/copper yes please!)
1 eyeshadow trio (a mixture of coppers, golds and bronzes again equally as gorgeous and beautifully packaged)
1 full size eyeshadow brush
1 thin felt liquid eyeliner (black)
1 mascara (black)
1 eyelash curler (bronze/rose gold packaging)
2 x nail polises- one a very neutral peach and one a very cool toned grey.

Overall this gift set is seriously amazing, everything in this gift set does not fail to deliver. All the products are beautifully packaged, luxurious, long lasting and seriously pigmented. My personal favourites are the lipstick and the blusher palette! The whole feel of this gift set is certainly very luxurious and it would be a perfect gift for a special person in your life!

Maybelline ColorSensational Lipsticks review...

Heyoo Jemples and welcome back to Jemima's world! In today's post I thought I'd review the Maybelline ColorSensational lipsticks since I'm slightly obsessed with them. For those of you who don't know what Maybelline is it's actually a drugstore brand which in my opinion is one of the best drugstore brands. I honestly stand by that statement 100% because the quality that Maybelline gives with it's products is simply amazing considering they are a fraction of the price of high end brands. Now I've actually been a fan of Maybelline for as long as I can remember which is why I think I have such a big collection of their lipsticks *oopsies confessions of a splurger* well I like to think that anyways it's nothing to do with my spending habits ok don't judge me! So if you'd like to know what I thought about their lipsticks in quite some detail then please keep on reading...

So I bit of background story is obviously due before I start, like I said before Maybelline is one of those brands that I absolutely love whether it's their mascaras, their foundations, their concealers and their lipsticks you name it I love everything this brand has to offer! So it's not everyday where you stumble across a product and it immediately reminds you of a high end product especially when some of the shades are oh so similar, but obviously the huge difference is the price a Maybelline lipstick will set you back 6-7 pounds whereas a high end one will set you back 20 pounds and plus!

Before I go into the shades one by one I'm just going to do a general review on the whole Maybelline ColorSensational range.

Lasting power- These lipsticks actually last for a really long time, in fact their lasting power really compared to some of my higher end lipsticks which definitely was a pleasant surprise. It was this that sucked me into buying more and more! Obviously some last longer than others it all depends on the finish, I personally feel that the newly released Matte shades last a lot longer than the shimmery ones. I do find that after eating I occasionally feel the need to top up the shade. But all in all the lasting power is amazing!

Packaging- Need I say I'm sure that you all can see or have purchased one of these once in your life and you'd agree with me that the packaging is on point! It's very sleek, pretty and compact.

Shade Range- I honestly can say that Maybelline offers a huge range of these lipsticks and they are always coming out with new collections, so which ever shade you're looking for you are bound to find it whether thats something more dramatic or something nude.

Price- £6.99-£7.99

So overall I would rate and recommend these lipsticks very highly!

SHADE 630 (Velvet Beige)- this shade is a very soft brown and is part of the natural range. It's a very complimentary shade that would suit any skin tone and in my opinion compares to shades like MAC Velvet Teddy and Whirl.

SHADE 758 (Naked Brown)- This shade is also part of the natural range and is definitely a few shades darker than the shade above. It's a perfect fall colour and very complimentary, In my opinion this shade is very similar to MAC Film Noir and just as good.

SHADE 955 (Craving Coral MATTE)- This shade is part of the newly released Matte range and you can really see in the image when compare to the other lipsticks this is indeed very matte. It's a beautiful reddish orange shade and again very complimentary on most skin tones.

SHADE 338 (Midnight Plum)- This shade is perfect for this time of the year and true to it's name it's a very deep plum shade which I would say compared to the others has very less shimmer. It's definitely one of the deeper shades and would compare to a MAC Rebel.

SHADE 168 (Petal Pink)- This is probably one of the only pinks I own from this whole range. I don't know why but I was instantly drawn to the colour and I'm so glad I picked it up. True to it's name its a beautiful, delicate baby doll pink!

SHADE 365 (Plum Passion)- This shade is not as intense as midnight plum but is equally as beautiful. Definitely one of the more wearable shades!

SHADE 547(Pleasure Me Red)- This shade is definitely my favourite out of the lot, It's one of those classic reds which make you feel so glam and special defo can't go wrong with this one!

SHADE 538 (Ravishing Rose)- Definitely in the middle of a coral and a red. This is a beautiful cherry red which is amazing for a more subtle look as it's not as intense as a classic red.

SHADE 975 (Divine Wine)- This shade is also part of the newly released Matte Range and can I just say how beautiful it is visually *sigh*. Trust me it's as beautiful in real life, a gorgeous shade again perfect for this time of the year.

Favourite Mascaras ;)

Well helllooooo there Jemples and like always, a very warm welcome to you all to todays post. In todays post I'll be showing you all my top 6 mascaras, now believe me these are all tried, tested and much loved. And it is only after lots of testing that I'm finally recommending them to you guys. These are a mix of some high end ones and some drugstore ones but between you and me the drugstore ones are a ton better and do the job ten times better. So if you guys want to know what my top 6 mascaras are and a mini review on each of them then please keep on reading...

1. Rimmel London Wake Me Up Mascara

If you guys are avid readers of my blog you'd probably remember a post I made quite some time back about the Argan Oil version of this mascara back then I raved about the formulation and the lasting power of that mascara which is why I didn't add it in this top 5 even though I truly loved that mascara. Anyways when that finished I went in store and picked up this one as I saw it was a new edition in the same range and I've gotta say that impulse purchase was probably one of the best decisions of my life. This mascara is goals, #lifegoals. Seriously I kid you not, everything is perfect in this mascara: the packaging, the wand, the size, the lasting-power and most importantly the formulation. Just in case you don't know much about this mascara it actually contains cucumber extract to make your eyes feel more refreshed and awake, it even smells of cucumbers! To cut it short this mascara does everything it says and the plus is that it makes my lashes look longer than ever and it actually holds my lashes up all day and everyday! Yes that's right I can't go a day without this mascara!

2. Maybelline Lash Sensational

Now I know that this product has been raved about everywhere on the internet and if you didn't know where the hell have you been hiding! Seriously this mascara is no joke it definitely compares to some of the high end mascaras out there and if I'm honest I like this a whole lot better than the Benefit They're real (*gasp*). Again it does exactly what it says it does: it volumises the lashes, it holds the lashes, it lasts really long. Basically if you haven't really got naturally long lashes this mascara will make sure you no longer face that problem. The only reason why this is my second favourite and not my first is because of the wand I would much rather prefer a chunkier wand like the one rimmel one. But other then that its a serious keeper!

3. Benefit They're Real Mascara

Again this product has been raved about a whole lot everywhere and it definitely stays true to all those reviews. It really does work and much like the lash sensational it works on lengthening the lashes rather than really conditioning the lashes. And I think it's probably because of that reason I rate this 3rd because I find that if I apply too much or I wear it for too long my lashes get really flaky and crumbly which is obviously not nice. Another downside is the price point for £20 it really does put a hole in the pocket but for a special occasion it is really worth it!

4. Clinique High Impact Mascara

Now this I received as a sample not that long ago actually and I've gotta say I am pleasantly impressed. This mascara is a dream for those with sensitive eyes, it does everything a mascara should do and the lasting power is superb. Because of the mini size I really like to use this on my bottom lashes, however like benefit this is definitely a splurge!

5. MAC False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara

It wouldn't be a well-rounded mascara post if I didn't mention something Mac! I also received this as a sample when I purchases a few things from Mac the other month and like Clinique I was pleasantly surprised. First of all I was shocked to see that there was such a big wand in such a small tube! But jokes apart this mascara is actually really good, again it doesn't really offer anything new but it's definitely something I'd buy (when I have the money that is!).

6. Collection No Clumps Mascara

And finally we have this beauty the collection no clumps mascara. This for it's price point and the fact that it is a drugstore product is actually really good. Obviously it's not up there with some of the other drugstore mascaras I've mentioned but it is quite the product. True to it's name this badboy doesn't clump up your lashes in the slightest. It holds well and lasts long, the only downside for me personally is again the skinny wand and the fact that it doesn't really volumise my lashes an awful lot. I find that I often have to give my lashes a good curl before I apply this but I do like it for the fact that it doesn't clump.

And there we have it guys that's my roundup of all my favourite mascaras currently, as and when anyone of these change I'll let you guys know if any of my new purchases take place of any of these. My Top 5 MAC Lipsticks

Hellooo Jemples hope you're all doing really well, it's Jemima here and welcome to todays post. For todays post I thought, since we are moving into a new season, it would be good for me to explore the theme of makeup and not any old makeup, I'm talking lipsticks MAC Lipsticks. If you're a MAC fanatic like me then its probably likely that you like me have a few favourite shades. Who am I kidding they're all my favourite but it's not like I can own all of them *sigh*. So with a heavy heart I had to sit down and rummage through my collection to narrow it down to 5 staple shades that I think are perfect for any season, any weather, any skin tone and any look. 1. MAC VIVA GLAM V (lustre)

So the first shade is from the viva glam range. Now I've gotta admit when I first saw this shade I kind of underestimated a bit because for me I personally thought it wasn't anything special in fact, the colour pigmentation was something more along the lines of a lipgloss. But after bringing it home and wearing it day in and day out I can honestly say this is one of my absolute faves. The fact that it is less of a block colour and more of a sheen makes it more wearable, you can literally put this on throughout the day without even thinking that it's going to smudge. It's complimentary with every skin tone and every outfit.

2. MAC HUE (glaze)

My second staple shade is Hue, this is probably best described as a fleshy toned nude. By that I mean it's not too nude that it makes you're lips look like their covered in foundation (unless you're going for that look in which case I totally understand girl you rock it!). In fact it's a very complimentary nude where you wouldn't feel out of place by wearing it solely on its own and likewise it can be paired with a darker shade to make it lighter, it looks just as good both ways. It's actually really good to put in the centre of your lips to achieve that ombre effect.

3. MAC MEHR (matte)

This unlike the other two requires a bit of work because it is slightly more of an intense colour and it's matte. The colour I would best describe as a brown toned pink. And for some skin tones it could quite easily pass off as a my lips but better shade. It has an amazing colour pay off and needless say like all MAC lipsticks it is long lasting. It's quite a new shade in my collection and now that it's autumn I've defo been reaching for it more and more.

4. MAC VELVET TEDDY (matte)

I don't even think I need to mention this shade as a favourite because I for one know that everyone and anyone owns this shade in their collection after the whole Kylie Jenner craze. So I put my hand up and admit that I was sucked into the craze too but I'm not regretting it at all. This shade is more along the brown side and is just amazing. I find myself reaching for this every day especially in this season and I even have a back up! So I'm not even gonna bother explaining the shade more just go and buy it and you can thank me later.

5. MAC ANGEL (frost)

So this shade like Hue is a nude but unlike nude it's a rather pink nude. Again I was sucked into this one with the whole Kim Kardashian fiasco and this along with Hue was one of my first Mac purchases and you can probably tell by the picture that it's very much loved. I love this shade! For me this shade is along the lines of Mehr but a good 2-3 shades lighter. Again its a lovely nude that's very complimentary on every skin tone and if you're on the market for a nice nude I'd defo recommend this one to you to try first. You won't be disappointed.

Back-to-School

Helloo Jemples so its that time of year again where most of us are either back at school/college/uni or preparing to start. Whether you're new to any of these places or whether you're simply moving into your next year of study it's only natural for you to have some questions. We've all been there. But that doesn't mean the way you're feeling is valued any less, in fact it's these individual experiences that make life a lot more exciting and I guarantee that these experiences will help to shape the rest of your life.

We've all been in a situation where we feel scared or nervous and starting school is no exception; the sweat on your brow, the feeling of butterflies in your stomach, missing home, missing old friends, the feeling of getting lost, not liking your teachers, feeling the pressure of exams, feeling overworked, constantly tired, feeling conscious about the way you look or the clothes you wear are just a few of the feelings that seem to be common. I have definitely experienced a lot of these feelings in fact nearly all of them and am still experiencing till date. So I've put together a few tips that I think will help you to overcome some of these feelings and if they don't I hope they at least make you feel that little bit better.

Organisation is the key to success

No matter how hard we try to deny it, it honestly is. By organising effectively you'll be able to view things a lot more clearly not just by what's in front of you but the things that are in your head will also become a lot more clear. If you're one of those people who find it hard to organise all you need to do is find a way of organising that makes it more fun and easier for you. For example colour coding homework so you know which piece is due in next, making a weekly timetable using lots of different colours and stickers, writing a weekly to do list or even leaving reminders on your phone or laptop. It doesn't have to be boring so don't let it be.

Reward yourself!

I honestly think this is probably the most important of them all. Deadlines and exams can become quite scary and can make you feel quite pressurised so it's important to reward yourself. This can be something as little as treating yourself to your favourite chocolate bar, a coffee, snuggling down to read a few chapters of your favourite book or playing a game on your phone. All of these in moderation will make you feel a lot better.

Reach for the stars

Don't let anyone put you down the world is your oyster and you can make it however you want it to be. Follow your dreams at times it may feel like there getting you nowhere but hey no-one said achieving them was going to be easy!

Phone a friend

Well not literally, but keep them close to you they really do help. At times you may find it hard to speak to someone about something that's really bugging your mind and its at times like this where friends come in handy. They can help in all sorts of ways by offering advice, explaining bits of work or even just listening to you get it all of your chest. Friends come in all sorts of forms: as your parents, your siblings, teachers or even your pet! so don't go around looking for them crazily they might be snuggled up right next to you.

ENJOY!

These years won't come back and it's these years that you'll look back and remember the most. By keeping yourself happy you'll be able to get a lot more from them.
