Harris County: Two men and juvenile arrested after being accused of beating a 9 month pregnant woman during home invasion

(HOUSTON, TX) - HCSO deputies arrested two men and a juvenile accused of breaking into a home in northwest Harris County and tying and beating the woman inside. The woman was 9 months pregnant.

The suspects are:
Isaias Arellano, 19
Hector Ramirez, 19
16 year-old male

All three are charged with aggravated robbery and are currently in custody at the Harris County Jail.

On Wednesday, May 15, 2013, HCSO patrol deputies responded to call of a home invasion in progress at an apartment in the 16100 block of Keith Harrow.

Deputies arrived to the scene and were able to capture all three suspects.

The victim, 21, was home with her two children. She had been tied with tape and beaten.

She was transported to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital where an emergency C-section was performed. The baby is currently listed in critical condition and is being closely monitored by physicians.

According to investigators, the victim knew all three suspects. As a matter of fact, suspect Ramirez is the newborn baby’s father.

Shockingly, earthquakes are becoming the norm in the great state of Texas. There was a double wammy near Snyder, Texas today. We still have received no word from Devon Energy or its mugshot medley/ Exploration Manager Shane Bird; who was arrested back in December for possessing a firearm in a prohibited place( DFW Airport). Devon Energy extracts natural gas from the Barnett Shale and has other various energy functions. Fracking is a discussion that lawmakers have begin to engage in, and maybe able to explain the connection with the quakes. Or just maybe they will be the first to say they don't know and that it may be a superior force that may be behind the surge in quakes in various places around the globe that had not experienced tremors before.

Gabriel Almondiah Winzer, of Elmo, Texas was arrested in 2010 for assault, as you can see from the above mugshot. Micah Phillips, the man who found the will power to run against 'Goliath' John Wiley Price and lose in the recent 2012 election for county commissioner's life was threatened yesterday in the 2300 block of Cedar Crest, in Dallas. Phillips had been arguing with a known man when Dallas police were called in to diffuse the situation. After DPD left, the man stated, "You have messed up, now I'm going to cut your throat", while pulling out a five inch blade on a hunting knife. All this took place in the parking lot of Holy Communion Baptist Church, where Micah Phillips is the senior pastor. Phillips is also the son of longtime St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church pastor, Reverend Dr. AD Phillips Sr., who passed away in 2011.

Dallas: OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING at 12300 Hoblitzelle Dr.

Approximately 10:15 a.m. officers responded to a shooting call at 12300 Hoblitzelle Dr. Upon arrival, they saw a pregnant female who was shot. A witness inside of the location heard the complainant yell out the name of the suspect who shot her. The witness looked out of the window of the residence and observed the suspect driving away from the location. A description of the suspect's vehicle was transmitted over the radio. At approximately 11:53 a.m., officers observed the suspect driving and attempted to stop him. The suspect refused to stop and a vehicle chase ensued. In the 12000 block of Bellafonte the suspect shot at officers who were pursuing him. Officer Daniel Malouf, #9458, sustained one gunshot wound to the lower abdomen. Officer Malouf was transported to Medical City Hospital in Dallas in good condition. He is expected to be released soon.

The vehicle chase continued until the suspect abandoned the vehicle at 12300 Schroeder Dr, where he ran inside of a residence. The suspect has barricaded himself inside of the residence and Dallas Police SWAT Unit has been called to the location.

The complainant, Breshuana Jackson, B/F 04/13/85, and the fetus are deceased. Next of kin notification has been made.

UPDATE 3pm: Officer has been released from the hospital.

UPDATE 9pm: Suspect has been arrested after a standoff.

UPDATE : Today SWIFS released their findings into forensic evidence collected from the February 22nd Sexual Assault offense on Ferndale Road. The DNA profile from that offense does not match the DNA profile obtained from Fernando Munoz. The DNA profile from the February 22nd offense has been entered into evidence databases. Findings are yet to be determined. DNA analysis of forensic evidence from the March 15th and 19th offenses is on-going. Those findings will be compared to the results from the February 22nd offense.

There has been a series of rapes in the Lake Highlands area of North Dallas recently causing concern for residents of the area. Dallas Police Chief David Brown and Councilmember Jerry Allen at a press conference this morning in regards to residents concerns:

Chief Brown's Press Conference in its entirety held on March 19, 2013 regarding the recent sexual assaults that have occurred in the Northeast Division.

On May 19, 2013, at about 6:45 A.M. an unknown suspect forcibly entered a residence by kicking in the door located on Aldwick Drive and sexually assaulted the female occupant. The suspect is described as a Latin male in his 20’s, light-skinned, thin build, and a thin mustache. The victim said that the suspect spoke English with a Spanish accent. He wore a gray hoodie and black leather gloves. The suspect may have a scratch somewhere on his body from the victim of today’s assault.

The Sexual Assault Unit is currently conducting a comprehensive investigation of the sexual assault offenses. The Sex Offender Apprehension Program officers and the Northeast Division have implemented an operation that is targeting known area sex offenders. Patrol, bike, and mounted officers have been deployed in the area to provide additional surveillance to the surrounding area. A collection of forensic evidence is on-going.

Crime Stoppers has offered a reward up to $5,000 leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect in these sexual assaults. A tip line has been established. Anyone with information related to these offenses are asked to contact the Dallas Police Department’s Northeast Division at 214-670-4415. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activity or persons immediately by calling 9-1-1.

Another small rattler outside of Dallas near Ovilla

Once again, another earthquake was reported in the Dallas-Ft.Worth metro area. This time the rattler occurred in Ovilla, south of Dallas on Sunday, March 17 and recorded as a 2.7 magnitude quake. There has been an outbreak of quakes since October 31, 2008 in the North Texas region. Recently, we featured an exploration manager from Devon Energy, who was arrested at DFW Airport for gun possession in an airport.

Devon nor its exploration manager, Shane Bird, has responded to any of the concerns regarding fracking, earthquakes and G-D!

City of Austin to host Transparency Symposium for residents

Press release from the city of Austin on open government, sunshine and transparency. It's kind of ironic that I met with Ellen Ray, an intern inside Mayor Lee Leffingwell's office. She asked me about a program for leadership development in Colony Park, I told her that I would like to see the city teach residents the Texas Open Meetings Act and the Texas Public Information Act. Looks like she passed the message on to her bosses.

The City of Austin will host its first Open Government Symposium April 17 featuring legal experts discussing open government issues including legislation, litigation, trends and the role of an ethics and compliance program in supporting government transparency.
The event will be from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Austin City Hall, 301 W. Second St. The event is free and open to the public and attending attorneys can receive Continuing Legal Education credit at no cost.

Another small quake strikes the North Texas region after concerns continue to grow about the dangers of fracking an natural resource extraction. The small quake registered as a 2.4 magnitude quake about four miles NNE of Godley, Texas, just outside of Ft. Worth. This comes exactly two weeks after three quakes strike three different southern Dallas suburbs.

After almost 5 years of terrorizing our neighborhood, the Colony Park Neighborhood Association can officially add to its resume; the closing of Club Escapade 2000. It was only after the NA pressured APD, that we were able to get action, even though after it initially opened, the manager was gunned down in the parking lot in 2008(Click Here).

More recently, The Daily Phalanx, a Weblog published by myself, featured a story about a night of deadly racing down Loyola(Click Here). Once we brought attention to the racing, an APD officer claimed that the article was over-reaching and was blowing the incident out of proportion; to which the CREATOR allowed, less than 3 months later, a teenager to be run over and killed near Northeast Austin Park(Click Here), after getting into an argument at Club Escapade 2000.

After the last event, the COA worked diligently with TABC to catch the club selling alcohol to minors. They gave citations and after looking at TABC site(Click Here) and Facebook((Click Here), we are proud to announce the closing of Club Escapade 2000, finally.

Three earthquakes rock three different Southern Dallas suburbs

Yesterday, mother earth gave southern Dallas a quick peak into her fury as three earthquakes startled the suburbs of Waxahachie, Desoto, and Midlothian, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The first quake struck around 4:35 am Sunday morning in Waxahachie, Texas, the town where my ancestors were enslaved and measured as a 2.4 magnitude.

The second quake hit around 6:56 am, near Desoto, Texas, a town known for its ferocious terrorism of Blacks. The third quake struck around 3:07 pm, this time near Midlothian, another town known for its Ku Klux Klanish nature.

Texas Attorney General’s Special Investigations, Fugitive Unit Officers Arrest Suspected Sex Trafficker in Austin

Texas, Wisconsin law enforcement authorities collaborate to recover 16-year-old victim

AUSTIN – The Texas Attorney General’s Fugitive and Special Investigations Units arrested Deondre J. Jenkins, 27, in Austin, on felony human trafficking charges. The victim is a 16-year-old female runaway who the defendant trafficked and forced into prostitution.

The Office of the Attorney General’s (OAG) human trafficking investigation into Jenkins originated with a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Based on the NCMEC referral, Fugitive Unit and Special Investigations Unit (SIU) officers identified a 16-year-old runaway girl who appeared to be engaging in prostitution. Further investigation by SIU and Fugitive Unit officers indicated that Jenkins had recruited the young runaway and subsequently compelled her to engage in at least 100 paid sexual encounters. Jenkins retained the proceeds for his personal financial benefit.

According to SIU investigators, Jenkins transported the 16-year-old trafficking victim to Austin, San Antonio and Dallas. Further, he used online advertisements to solicit paid sexual encounters with the girl. After tracing Jenkins’ most recent online advertisement to Milwaukee, Wis., SIU officers – with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety – contacted the Milwaukee Police Department. Based on the information provided by Texas law enforcement officials, Milwaukee police officers successfully located the victim and took her into protective custody. Travis County Sheriff’s Department authorities transported her back to Austin.

Jenkins was arrested Wednesday shortly after he returned to Texas. The defendant is charged with one count of trafficking a child for sexual purpose, a first-degree felony punishable by up to life in prison. Jenkins is currently incarcerated at the Travis County Jail in lieu of a $75,000 bond.

In 2009, the State of Texas took major steps to fight human trafficking by creating the Texas Human Trafficking Prevention Task Force. Attorney General Abbott chairs the Task Force, which just issued its 2012 “Texas Response to Human Trafficking” report. On Feb. 12, Sen. Leticia Van de Putte and Rep. Senfronia Thompson introduced new legislation that combined all of the recommendations presented in the Texas Human Trafficking Prevention Task Force’s report.

Texas Joins Multi-State Challenge to Dodd-Frank

AUSTIN — Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott issued the following statement announcing that the State of Texas is joining the multistate challenge to the Obama Administration’s Dodd-Frank financial reform law:

“The Dodd-Frank law is bad for banks, harmful to businesses and worse for consumers who want to borrow money. It gives too much power to the federal government—and puts taxpayer dollars at risk. Under this law, unelected federal bureaucrats can unilaterally liquidate financial institutions in which the state invests taxpayer dollars. The State of Texas could be denied basic due process rights and taxpayers’ dollars could recklessly be put at risk.”

Texas' challenge to Dodd-Frank

The legal action filed by the State of Texas and a coalition of 10 other states challenges Title II of Dodd-Frank, which gives the U.S. Treasury Secretary and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) broad, unilateral authority to simply take over and liquidate large financial institutions. Because the Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company -- an organization that manages and invests funds for the state and various subdivisions -- has investments in financial institutions that fall within Dodd-Frank’s scope, the law poses a risk to taxpayer funds.

Under Dodd-Frank’s sweeping federal law, unelected federal officials are empowered to take virtually any action of their choosing—including liquidating a financial institution—without obtaining the approval or consent of creditors or shareholders like the State of Texas. The new federal regime is a highly secretive process that effectively prohibits the State from challenging this federal action in court.

The State of Texas is joined in the legal challenge by the States of Alabama, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and West Virginia, as well as the State National Bank of Big Spring, Texas, and the Plus 60 Association.

Dear Brothers,

I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonizations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church. After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry. I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering. However, in today’s world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the bark of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me. For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on 19 April 2005, in such a way, that as from 28 February 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is.
