A Florida man arrested in connection to his wife's murder after posting a graphic photo of her blood-splattered body on his Facebook page played a tattooed, violent gang member in a TV show and wants to be famous.
In a message that appeared on his personal Facebook account Thursday morning, 31-year-old Derek Medina, of Miami, allegedly admitted to the murder of his wife, 26-year-old Jennifer Alfonso.
'Im going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife love you guys miss you guys takecare Facebook people you will see me in the news,' he wrote.
'My wife was punching me and I am not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did I hope u understand me.'
Medina supplemented the photo apparently showing his murdered spouse lying in the kitchen with blood covering her face and left arm with the comment: 'Rip Jennifer Alfonso.'

Miami Herald reported that Thursday afternoon, Mr Medina walked into a police station and turned himself in, confessing that he had shot his wife following a domestic dispute, according to investigators.
His mug shot was released Friday morning as details emerged about his life.

Medina was a part time actor on the USA Network show Burn Notice.
The wannabe star boasted online about his tiny bit-part appearances and dreamed of fame that he never quite attained. He appeared only as a backgound extra with his head-shaved and pouting in two episodes in 2010.
However, that didn't stop his talking up his achievements.
Posting a video on You Tube, he narrated: 'Put on USA, I’m coming out on the episode right now. I’m on USA. I’m going to come out soon. This is the episode that I filmed. hat’s me right there! You saw me?'
The page also has a clip of a man kicking a punching bag in a gym.
In an interview with the local station WSVN, Medina's father, Derek Medina Sr., said that his son came to him at around 11am Thursday and admitted to shooting his wife.

A MONDAY message on Twitter - "stay safe people" - seemed aimed at soothing Bostonians rattled by deadly terror attacks earlier in the day. But that entreaty was apparently sent by the prime bombing suspect.

With the city of Boston on lockdown for most of Friday and suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev still on the loose, attention has focused on the 19-year-old's social media accounts for clues about his life and his potential motivation for apparently setting bombs that killed three people and wounded more than 180.
The focus has zeroed in on the still-active Twitter account @J_tsar, which one of his Twitter friends confirmed to AFP as belonging to Dzhokhar.
"Ain't no love in the heart of the city, stay safe people," he tweeted at 8.04pm local time on Monday, just hours after Boston was rocked by twin explosions which police say he set with his older brother Tamerlan, who was killed on Friday in a shootout with police.
It was one of a dozen messages he posted on the microblogging site in the hours and days after the tragedy.
A tweet one week prior to the blasts may have offered cryptic hints at what was to come: "If you have the knowledge and the inspiration all that's left is to take action," @J_tsar tweeted on April 8.
Twitter said as a policy it does not confirm the identity of users, but there seemed little doubt on Friday that @J_tsar, with the handle "Jahar," was in fact Tsarnaev.
"Tat my name on you girl so i know it's real oh and make sure to spell it right, its spelled Dzhokhar," he posted last May 5.
His followers, just a few thousand by early Friday, soared to more than 58,000 in the hours after he was named a prime suspect.
His Twitter page is adorned with the emblem of the FC Anzhi Makhachkala soccer team, in the southern Russian region of Dagestan where, according to his uncle who spoke to reporters, Dzhokhar was born.
A perusal of the 1099 tweets posted by @J_tsar portray an everyday kid with a wide variety of interests: sports, hip-hop lyrics, girls, Islam, TV shows like Breaking Bad, and cars.
Some friends who say they went to high school with him have posted their disbelief at how a classmate could be responsible for the worst terror attack on US soil since the September 11, 2001 suicide plane strikes.
"Yeah he went to rindge, he graduated with me and we had a few classes together," wrote a longtime Twitter friend "Samantha" on Friday, referring to their time at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, in Massachusetts. Dzhokhar had exchanged tweets with Samantha as far back as November 2011.
One message from August 2012, a response to a user who has since locked his tweets and made them unviewable, provides a jolt to those scrolling through Dzhokhar's account.
"Boston marathon isn't a good place to smoke tho," he wrote.
The final message on his account is a Wednesday retweet of a comment by Mufti Ismail Menk of Zimbabwe.
Afterward Menk condemned the Boston attacks on his own Twitter feed, saying "the perpetrators must face justice."
One of Dzhokhar's post-bombing tweets was a hair-raising response to a fellow Twitter user.
"What 'god hates dead people?' Or victims of tragedies? Lol those people are cooked," Dzhokhar wrote.

The Boston Marathon bombing suspect was captured wounded but alive Friday night after police found him in a boat in a suburban backyard following a bloody rampage and a daylong manhunt, law enforcement sources said.

The arrest of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, ended five days of terror from the double bombing at the marathon finish line, which killed three people, wounded 176 and left the city of Boston on edge.

"We got him," Boston Mayor Tom Menino tweeted.

"CAPTURED!!! The hunt is over. The search is done. The terror is over. And justice has won," the Boston Police Department said on its Twitter account.

Cops cheered as the suspect was taken into custody in Watertown, Mass. just before 9 p.m., and residents flooded the streets, some chanting, "USA!"

Police cornered Tsarnaev around 7 p.m., less than an hour after residents were told a stay-indoors order had been lifted.

Officials said a woman in the area reported seeing blood leading to a boat in her yard, and thermal imaging from helicopters had located someone in the vessel.

A barrage of gunfire was heard and after night fell, more rounds of shots rang out. The police threw flash-bang grenades designed to disorient and brought a negotiator to the scene.

Just before 9 p.m., Tsarnaev was taken into custody and police said he had been wounded. "He sustained significant blood loss," a law enforcement official at the scene said.

As an ambulance took the suspect to the hospital, people lining the streets applauded in joy and relief.

Tsarnaev's apprehension capped a manhunt that had the city of Boston and its suburbs on total lockdown -- following a rampage that included the slaying of a campus security officer, a carjacking and the death of Tsarnaev's 26-year-old brother, Tamerlan, in a firefight with cops.

The overnight violence had triggered an extraordinary shutdown of transportation, schools and businesses in Boston and its surrounding suburbs, with police warning more than a million people to hunker down behind locked doors while SWAT teams fanned out.

The brothers' bloody last stand began about five hours after the FBI released surveillance photos of two "extremely dangerous" men suspected of planting two bombs near the finish line of Monday's Boston Marathon, killing three and wounding 176.

Police are at the Cambridge, Massachusetts, home of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, haven't yet entered the building, suspecting it may be booby-trapped. NBC's Ron Allen reports.

Tips about the identity of the suspects were still pouring in when the Tsarnaev brothers fatally shot Massachusetts Institute of Technology officer Sean Collier, 26, in his vehicle at 10:20 p.m., law enforcement officials said.

The brothers then carjacked a Mercedes SUV, holding the driver captive for a half-hour while they tried to use his cash card to get money from three ATM's, a source said. At the first, they put in the wrong number; at the second, they took out $800 and at the third, they were told they had exceeded the withdrawal limit, the source said.

The carjacking victim was released unharmed at a gas station in Cambridge, sources said. He told police the brothers said they were the marathon bombers and had just killed a campus officer.

As the duo sped in his car toward Watertown, a police chase ensued and they tossed explosive devices out the window, officials said.

There was a long exchange of gunfire, according to Andrew Kitzenberg of Watertown, who took photos of the clash from his window and shared them via social media.

“They were also utilizing bombs, which sounded and looked like grenades, while engaging in the gunfight,” he told NBC News in an interview. “They also had what looked like a pressure-cooker bomb.

“I saw them light this bomb. They threw it towards the officers,” he said. “There was smoke that covered our entire street.”

A transit officer, identified as Richard H. Donahue, 33, was seriously injured during the pursuit. Authorities said he underwent surgery at Mount Auburn Hospital.

Kitzenberg said he saw the firefight end when Tamerlan Tsarnaev ran toward the officers and ultimately fell to the ground.

Tamerlan -- the man in the black hat from FBI photos released six hours earlier -- had an improvised explosive device strapped to his chest, law enforcement officials said.

Dzhokhar -- the brother who was wearing a white hat in the surveillance photos from the marathon -- got away when he drove the SUV through a line of police officers at the end of the street, Kitzenberg said.

Law enforcement sources told NBC News that blood found at the scene suggests Dzhokhar may have been wounded in the gun battle. The FBI released more photos of him, including a surveillance camera photo from a convenience store where the brothers had stopped for gas.

A stay-indoors order was issued for Boston and its surrounding suburbs, affecting more than a million people who were warned to lock their doors. Subways and buses were shut down, and Amtrak service to Boston was cut. The Red Sox and Boston Bruins' home games were canceled.

Harvard University, Boston University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Emerson University were closed. The University of Massachusetts' Dartmouth campus was evacuated because of a possible tie to someone in the case, the school said.

Watertown was the epicenter of the search. Frightened residents were trapped inside as convoys of heavily armed officers and troops arrived by the hour and snipers perched on rooftops and in backyards.

Investigators searched all day for Tsarnaev, but with no sign of him as night approached, they said residents could venture outside. People began leaving their homes, some of them cheering.

SWAT units were still on the scene when the shots were heard just before 7 p.m. and police converged on the boat.

Amid the search, Dzhokhar's father, in Russia, told The Associated Press he was "a true angel" and described him as a medical student who was expected to visit for the holidays.

Authorities painted a starkly different picture.

"We believe this man to be a terrorist," Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis said early in the day. "We believe this to be a man who's come here to kill people."

Ben Affleck rebounded from the mother of all snubs at the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony Sunday evening in Beverly Hills, Les Miserables nabbed three honors, and Daniel Day-Lewis, Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway all garnered important wins on the road to next month's Oscars.
Argo won for best drama and, after being a favorite to earn an Academy Award nomination last week and then not getting one, Affleck picked up a best director Golden Globe for the political thriller, besting a field that included Steven Spielberg (Lincoln), Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty) and Quentin Tarantino (Django).

"I truly to God never thought I could be in the same breath as them," Affleck said.
Les Miserables picked up three wins — best musical or comedy, best actor (Hugh Jackman) and best supporting actress for Hathaway. Its total tied for the most of the night with the HBO TV movie Game Change and Showtime drama Homeland.
"I was kicking myself for not getting a flu shot, but it doesn't seem like I need one. I feel great!" said Jackman, remembering one day after a bad Les Mis rehearsal when his wife talked him off the cliff and kept him from quitting the movie musical.

"Baby," he said to her, "thank you for always being right."
After she won, Hathaway began her acceptance speech with one word: "Blerg."
She lauded fellow nominee Sally Field of Lincoln as "the vanguard against typecasting," and thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for her trophy, "this curvy blunt object that will be used forever against self-doubt."
The Steven Spielberg historical drama Lincoln came in leading the field with seven nominations, but only Daniel Day-Lewis won a Golden Globe for his performance as Abraham Lincoln.
"Are you sure there's room for another ex-president on this stage?" Day-Lewis joked after Bill Clinton introduced the film. Clinton remembered the 16th president's "steely resolve and necessary compromises" to end slavery: "We're all here tonight because he did it."
Day-Lewis also lauded his director, Steven Spielberg, who the actor called "a humble master with a quicksilver imagination. You've given me an experience I'll treasure to the end of my life."
Lawrence beat out the likes of Meryl Streep, Maggie Smith and Judi Dench to take home the prize for best actress in a comedy or musical for Silver Linings Playbook.
"What does it say? I beat Meryl!" said a smiling Lawrence when handed the trophy. She thanked co-star Bradley Cooper as well as producer Harvey Weinstein. "Harvey, thank you for killing whoever you needed to to get me up here."

Jessica Chastain won best actress in a drama for her performance in Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty, about the hunt for Osama bin Laden. She compared her character to Bigelow: "Two powerful women who allow their best work to stand for them."
