It's silky smooth and creamy until it reaches the bottom, where i can still see some of the eggs not mixed in properly.. How do I solve this problem? Use a whisk instead of just the fork to beat the eggs? I'm just mixing everything in my small ramekin, so space is an issue.

Next time I should add some ginger tea into it. First time attempted the steamer, definitely better than short-cut microwaving.

Yuk gae jang, tender beef in bland albeit spicy soup. Tofu is still the best. Let's Bab in Malvern East.

My own lamb shank, salami, mixed lentils and veggie soup, with some parmesan and onion sourdough from coles. Hearty lunch for the week.

Bibimbap from a Korean shop in Oakleigh. Crunchy vege.

西湖香辣牛肉湯面

Eating out has become a norm these days, as I don't really spend time on thinking what to cook. Cooking now means really simple stuff, like making a rice salad with sesame oil and spinach, or instant noodles with tahini dressing. And that frozen vege. No more elaborate stews and roasts and fry ups.

But it's ok.

Now, I'm stuffed with warm soupy noodles, lamb wraps and stews, fresh turkish pizza and cheap pre-packed coles pasta. At least the variety, albeit a variety amongst the routine, will keep me going for a while. I wonder which day will come first, I get sick of eating out or my money runs out?

Frozen roasted potatoes, meant to be oven-roasted but I just zapped in the microwave. Top with Lingham's chilli sauce.

Steam fresh frozen vege. Zapped. Topped with instant pepper gravy.

Frozen chicken schnitzel. Zapped to cook then return to pan to brown.

I feel so processed...

All for the illusion of having freshly cooked food... I know I will love America. Trader's Joes, here I come...

I thought of heading to zest89, but passed by the notts on the way, so I just went in instead. Have been here once nearly 3 years ago with the lab mates. Seems like nothing has changed much. Kitchen closing in 15 mins. Wasted no time and ordered veal scallopini, liked the smoky mushroom sauce; and also the free salad bar that satisfied all the crunch and crisp I need. Lemon lime bitter from the bar tasted no bitter.

A blokey environment i say, with a number of lonely men dining alone. Also some family, but definitely no single woman.

The biggest loser was on tv, followed by lie to me. Man, I miss watching tv.

If I'm not broke, i could see this as a hang out place with some blokey friends, if i have blokey friends to begin with.

...in my bouts of random surfing i learnt of a medical condition affecting babies known as anencephaly. This unfortunate newborn will have no front parts of the brain, meaning they either don't survive until they are born, or they would just live for a short time before they die if they have the brain stem.

Even if they survive the short period of time, they are only able to perform the basic functions of life, ie respiration. Missing the brain means they have no consciousness at all: no stress, no pain.. nothing, but they still have a name.

I know it is a strange post to start the year, yet it just made me wonder what life is all about, and what about when I close my eyes for the last time.
