So it's been a very long time since I've blogged on here almost a year and longer than that since I've posted anything of any significant meaning. I've been on a journey of self discovery lately. I've been feeling kind of lost and looking around at other people and thinking to myself why does everyone else "SEEM" to have it all figured out and here I am struggling to figure out how I'm going to get out of debt and afford to live on my own. Life's about to change drastically and that's OK and that's necessary. life never ceases to be unpredictable and that's OK too. I'm learning to go with the flow, but also at the same time trying to make a plan. trying to get my brain in a better place. I've recently decided that I need to read all these books I've been buying over the years because normally I don't except for the odd fiction soon to be made into a movie type of fiction book.

I started by reading the book Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom it's been sitting on my shelf for years and I have no idea why I never took the time to read it. It's a really quick read a little over 200 pages or something like that, but it's also by the author of one of my all time favorite books "The Five people you meet in heaven." Tuesdays with Morrie is about a man Morrie Schwartz who is dying of ALS and his former student Mitch Albom whom reconnects with him after finding out about his illness. The book is very simple in it's lay out, but very deep in it's meaning. You learn about Morries philosophies on life and about the perspectives he's gained since his illness I really took a lot away from this book and I'd highly recommend it to anyone I thoroughly enjoyed it and may end up reading it again.

Next up I recently started the book "Yes Man" by Danny Wallace it's the book that inspired the movie of the same name that starred Jim Carrey although the movie is different from the book. I'm only about 74 pages into the book, but so far I'm finding it both inspiring and hilarious! I've been mostly reading it on my lunch break at work and I find myself stifling laughs trying to stay quiet as to not disturb the other cube farm workers. I don't know what the rest of the book will hold, but I can't wait to find out.

Then tonight I was sitting here trying to figure out a reasonable budget and then I had the idea that I was going to google how to make extra money because you know who doesn't want to make extra money well sometimes you actually need to make extra money. it's time to get real it's time to find out what else is out there I randomly stumbled upon through google this website http://www.rulebreakersclub.com/ I haven't explored the whole site, but the little bit that I've read I've really enjoyed and plan to explore this website further it's run by a woman who is living an alternative money making lifestyle. I'm not really sure how good all the information is, but I took it as a sign that I found the site tonight and one of her posts recommended some books to read I've taken mental note of the list and even downloaded two to my kindle which I will read.

I'm the biggest procrastinator around I'm trying to make a change and hopefully all this reading and googling will help me on my way. I've been trying to make use of my creative passions which include photography and the reason for this long post. Writing!! It's still a work in progress for me ,but I plan to explore writing more and I'm going to try and start doing it as much as possible whether it be random posts like this or possibly even fiction. I'm not sure anyone will ever read this (maybe my sister will stumble upon this! Hi Ruth lol) but anyway this is just for practice and this is just for me and for fun.

as the Title of blog implies life is in fact a journey and this is mine and going forward as much as possible I plan to make the most of it. Here I go kicking and screaming into the future ;)

(Oh I also started learning Portuguese again through Duolingo!)

I said I wanted him to make the decision and he did we had an appointment at the vet this afternoon to have him put to sleep and decided he wanted to go in the middle of the night :( I'm glad of this in a way because I'm glad he essentially went on his own terms. I'm going to miss that little old bugger so much!! Love you Elvis!

When it's time to say Goodbye

The absolute hardest part of owning a pet is knowing when it's time to say good bye Elvis the cat just turned 21 years old in human years unbelievable, but the sad fact is, is that's he's been slowly slipping away from us for Months and this week he's stopped eating. We've already called the Vet and he's probably going in on Thursday and I know what's going to happen and no words as crappy as that poor cats life is he's been a constant in my life for 21 years. I bonded with him the moment I met him at the humane society as that tiny sickly gray kitten who's turned into the sickly old gray cat of course he was an active cat in between always a little bit of a wimp when it came to other animals, but always so affectionate and a great cat one of a kind. Dam this is hard why do pets have to get old!

Why is it that I always think of things I want to blog about when I'm away from anyway to actually blog it. I'll write the whole post in my head and think oh this is going to be great I'm going to write that later!, but then I forget or by the time I go to write the post I can't really remember it sigh anyway. A New Chapter

I'm excited to announce I've taken on a new job within my company it's going to be more money and a more enjoyable job overall. lets just say my current department is a little oppressive or at least they are micro managers to the extreme I know people in the new area and they say it's not like that so here's hoping! Regardless I feel like this is a really good move for me the experience this will bring to my resume and stress this will relieve will be well worth it. so starting September 24th my new experience will begin! I feel like a new chapter not just work wise ,but in my life in general is starting I'm finally getting a handle on my debt and am really looking to the future! so YAY for new chapters!!

Declutter

So I spent the evening Decluttering my "Digital" life I got rid or a bunch of friends on Facebook deleted 150 subscriptions from youtube and got rid of a bunch of people I was following on Twitter I realized how much digital clutter I had a lot of things I didn't really care about that got in the way of things I actually wanted to see. I've decided to declutter my life and that's going to mean more then just getting rid of junk which I will be doing also. It's over due!

Minnesota State Fair 2012

spent some time at the great Minnesota Get together the Minnesota State Fair! I love the fair so much. I should say I both Love and Hate the fair. I love the fair itself, but I hate the crowds, but the fun of the fair supersedes my hatred of crowds lol.
Today was my second time at the fair I spent some time there on Friday volunteering for Caringbridge.org at their booth Caringbridge is an amazing site that people suffering from illness/injuries it's a site they and their family members can use to keep up to date on the persons status. anyway it's great go check out their website.
So Friday I did walk around a little bit and ended up getting a free bucket! from Home Depot kind of silly yes, but it's a really nice bucket that I intend to use for my fish tank cleaning needs (no pic of the bucket lol) Ever since I was a little kid I've always wanted to see how much free (crap) stuff I could get I'm not quite as ambitious about it as I used to be, but it's still fun to get stuff I mean who doesn't like free stuff. I'm just a little more picky now about the stuff I'll actually take home cause most of it was junk that was never used, but anyway I wanted to share a picture of my hall from this year from the two days at the fair.

As you can see I got a cook book (ok cook book wasn't really free it was for renewing my sams club membership ,but it was a fair special wouldn't have got that at the store and I was planning to renew anyway so anyway a good deal regardless) I also got a yard stick which you know might come in handy some tooth paste which I will use a back scratcher some post its some greeting cards A hat (free from Ford for owning a ford) I don't own a ford, but my Dad who was with does and it was to small for his head. lets see what else a gripper/coaster from whole food I think that's about it maybe a couple things not picture which included a free 5 hour energy drink and a water bottle so anyway that's my junk er I mean good quality stuff I got free at the fair this year. I'm still going one more time with a friend so who knows what I'll find ;) next time.
Wait did I have a point to this post umm no not really just wanted to post about my free junk I had a really fun day at the fair today with my family ate way to much delicious fair food and finished off the evening stopping at White Castle! (I know kind of odd after the fair, but it was the first day it was opened had to go lol)

I did not complete my 12 week program mostly because I'm lazy oh and also was working10 hour days at work which made me tired and I was taking Yoga and Zumba classes it was just to time consuming I may go back to it, but not now

Started this new 90 day program today that I found on Amazon Did all my measurements and did the first day of cardio I bought this a few weeks ago,but had been debating as to when to start it I decided that today is April 9th 3 months today is July 9th which coincidentally is my birthday so I decided to start it today! also I had to just realize I may not be able to always control my work schedule so I'm just going to have to make it work so that's what I did I take a Yoga Class on Mondays so I work OT until 5PM went to Yoga at 6PM came home fed my animals and myself. then took all my measurements for the comparison later and by the time I was ready to do the workout it was 9:40PM oh well I did it anyway even though I wanted to go to bed lol got to make it work so I did and I even did this blog post afterwards lol oh well time for bed now more on this program later.

20lb Dumbbells!

Yep that's right went out and bought 15lb and 20lb dumbbells today I was supposed to get 25lb also, but I figured those could wait a bit my new work out program requires these things it also requires 5lb and 10lb weights, but luckily I already had those. So I haven't started my new work out, but now that I've invested the money in the weights (on my credit card yikes!) Ok I'll pay it off on Friday lol. Anyway now that I've invested the money I need to follow through if all goes well in approximately 12 weeks I will be looking buff! or at least buffer than I do now. I'm currently reading through the lengthy guide for the program and plan to actually start one night this week after work... Here We Go!!!

Always a good idea to Blog when you are half a sleep right that explains last nights blog I was feeling so motivated and have recently discovered what I think is an awesome business idea. I suggested the idea to a friend as a potential business she was not at all interested which is fine, but I'm still psyched about it and now I just have to figure out how I am going to do it I don't want to say what it is here cause I don't want to give my idea away, but if I can get it going then I think it could be something really awesome. I also just bought a exercise program called XTrainFit it's a 12 week program and I intend to follow through trick is now to plan when to start!

Motivation!

Motivation has struck of course it's 11pm and I need to sleep, but regardless felt the need for at least a quick post. I was just thinking about stuff people have said to me in the past that I've taken to heart and they've been mostly negative comments I'm not sure why I do that I guess we all do that to an extent. I just realized or rather had an epiphany that hey shit people have said is just their opinion and not fact! I didn't even realize how much I let stuff like that affect me until I really thought about it. Anyway I'm rambling. My motivations have been about getting out of debt having a legit plan of attack, getting into shape, starting a business an using my creative side more so anyway since I have all this motivation I'll probably be blogging more Yay!

So I've decided to try my hand at blogging again cause it's fun! so to start back blogging I am going to start by showing you some fun things I bought recently/got for Christmas the first one are these adorable Flip Flops I bought at Flips out at the Mall of America last Friday

These are so cute I wouldn't normally buy flip flops in December in Minnesota, but they were just to cool to pass up these were made in Brazil

The second item I bought actually on Monday are these Tech gloves they allow you to use your Iphone or other Tech device with the gloves on which is pretty cool

These were from Old Navy and they were on Clearance! Even better. The bad part is these were made in China I'll tell you why that's bad in a minute.

The third Item I got for Christmas from my Parents this adorable Chihuahua Wallet from Fuzzynation she purchased this at Macy's sometime before Christmas

This Adorable Wallet was also Made in China.

The reason it is unfortunate that these items were made in different countries is they do not go along with my new project my new fantastic blog!

Big Lots!

Big Lots yes Please! went to the new Big Lots tonight it was actually the 2nd time I'd been in there, but the first time I basically just ran through quickly to take a look I didn't think much of it until I went back again and started really looking I know Big Lots have been around for awhile, but they are new to me basically what they are I guess is like an overstock store they won't replace Target or Walmart as those stores have more items, but the items they do have I think will beat those stores so what did I get exactly this

and how much did this magical basket of miscellaneous things cost me? $9.80! Wow here's what my $9.80 got me

2 bags of Brown Rice at .60 cents each Wow that's amazing I use brown rice for homemade dog food so that saves me money!.. what else

Tissues! for $1.00 I know you can find those relatively cheap, but I think $1.00 is pretty good and yes they do have Garfield on them I happen to like Garfield :) and besides when you need to blow your nose who cares whats on the tissue box.. anything else!

What's that Paula Deen! yep Paula Deen Macaroni I tasted her recipe at her restaurant in Savannah Georgia last year and it was delicious I imagine this will not live up to that, but hopefully it's still good this was $1.95.... is there more you ask? Yes!

Poor Fishy!!

so my overfed rosy barb (fish) decided to try to swim out of a tiny whole in an ornament that was obviously to big for it and got stuck half way through it was struggling I couldn't leave it so I tried gently shaking it out even was going to break the ornament finally went back to trying to gently pull it out with my fingers and got it out only for it to float up to the top dead! le sigh poor fishy! I tried to save you I failed :(
